* ActorSharedBackground: Creator/MelonieDiaz is a social justice activist in real life like her character.
* ApprovalOfGod: In contrast to the other actresses, Creator/ShannenDoherty (who played Prue in the original show) was the only one to give her approval of the reboot.
* DearNegativeReader: Creator/SarahJeffery accused Creator/HollyMarieCombs and Creator/RoseMcGowan of racism based off a fan linking them in an Instagram live clip where they said the reboot "sucked".
* DisownedAdaptation: Several cast and crew members of the original series are outright ''vicious'' towards the show and the concept of a reboot:
** Creator/HollyMarieCombs was the most prominent in her disdain for it. In 2020, she and Creator/RoseMcGowan clarified that neither of them had watched it - and their disdain was for the fact that it was an InNameOnly reboot involving none of the original cast.
** Creator/AlyssaMilano likewise says that she wishes it had a different title, feeling it comes across as a lazy cash grab based off name recognition. The only silver lining in her mind was "at least a whole new generation gets to experience it".
** Curtis Kheel, writer for the original Charmed, [[https://twitter.com/curtiskheel/status/1535654493072723968 ripped into the show's final scene]] [[spoiler:in which, after travelling through the multiverse, this show's Charmed Ones find themselves in front of the Halliwell Manor and end the series by entering it, by saying that the OG Charmed Ones then vanquished them on sight.]]
** Brian Krause, who played Leo in the original series, threw shade on the show for asking him to audition for it not knowing who he was.
* FakeNationality: Creator/SarahJeffery and Creator/MadeleineMantock aren't actually Latina (Jeffrey is of African-American and Indigenous Canadian descent; Mantock is of Afro-Caribbean and European descent), while their characters have a Latina mother. [[spoiler:Given the reveal that they're full sisters and it's Melanie, who is played by a Latina actress (Creator/MelonieDiaz is of Puerto Rican descent), who is the half-sister, this might have been intentional.]]
* QueerCharacterQueerActor: Main character Mikaela in the final season was bisexual and played by queer actress Lucy Barrett. Season three also had introduced two trans supporting characters, trans woman Josefina and trans man Kevin. Both were played by trans actors, Mareya Salazar and J.J. Hawkins respectively, with the same genders. Additionally, lesbian Jade (another supporting character) was also played by queer actress Aleyse Shannon in the show's early seasons.
* SavedFromDevelopmentHell: In 2013, the ''Charmed'' reboot was being developed by Creator/{{CBS}}, but then eventually it was passed on and Creator/TheCW picked it up.
* UnderageCasting: Creator/MelonieDiaz, who portrays middle sister Mel, is the eldest cast member of the three sisters.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Originally Maggie was meant to be called Madison and the sisters' last name was Pruitt.
** The writers' original idea was for a prequel set during the 1970s, matching up second-wave feminism with the witchcraft motif. During the 2016 election and events following, they realized that a lot of the issues they were writing about were contemporary, so they decided to make it modern.
** [[Series/Charmed1998 Phoebe Halliwell]] was supposed to show up at the end of Season 1, in order to introduce a Charmed Multiverse, but Creator/TheCW said no to the idea, though there would be a MythologyGag to the original series in the GrandFinale.
* WrittenInInfirmity: Mal's [[spoiler: MysticalPregnancy in season three was due to Creator/MelonieDiaz expecting]].
