* {{Blooper}}: The description for the Pearl Slug has a typo.
-->''Of the''[sic]'' all the strange lifeforms that reside in the nooks and crannies...''
* CreatorsFavoriteEpisode: Hidetaka Miyazaki confessed in a 2019 interview that he enjoyed working on ''Bloodborne'' the most out of any Creator/FromSoftware game.
* DuelingGames: Namely with ''VideoGame/TheOrder1886'', which came out about a month prior. Both games were [=PS4=]-exclusive titles that took place in Victorian settings, where the player takes control of a BadassLongcoat and fights werewolf-like monsters with an array of bizarre-looking weapons. One of the more [[CurbStompBattle one-sided examples]] [[ItsShortSoItSucks of this trope in]] [[SoOkayItsAverage recent memory.]]
* DummiedOut: A couple items that appear in both of the guides can't be obtained: the third tier of the Guidance Rune from ''The Old Hunters'' DLC and a Coldblood item named Revered Great One Coldblood. They ''are'' in the game files and are fully functional... but both appear to have not been assigned to their appropriate loot drop tables in the game. The only way to even get them is to use a third party program to edit your save file.
* InspirationForTheWork: Hidetaka Miyazaki states thoughts of creating ''Bloodborne'' first entered his mind after he learned of a certain pseudoscientific idea (that the more "evolved" a species is, the less they reproduce) [[spoiler:and pondered what a ''fully'' evolved species would do if they still desired progeny — laying the groundwork for the [[SufficientlyAdvancedAliens Great]] [[EldritchAbomination Ones]] and their disastrous attempt to "adopt" humanity]].
* KillerApp: ''Bloodborne'' in particular is generally considered to be the {{Platform/PlayStation 4}}'s first must-have title and was the game that helped boost sales of the console owning to it being a very beloved successor to the ''VideoGame/DarkSouls'' franchise.
* NoPortForYou: One of the most famous modern examples. Despite massive fan demand for a PC release of ''Bloodborne'', it has remained a Platform/PlayStation exclusive since launch, and with each year that passes by the chance of either Creator/SonyComputerEntertainment or Creator/FromSoftware listening to that demand grows smaller.
* ReferencedBy: In ''Manga/BlackClover'', Nacht's form when using his devil Gimodelo's power, which forms a dark coat and tricorn hat atop the rest of his outfit, is clearly inspired by the Hunter.
* ScheduleSlip:
** The game was originally set to be released in early February 2015, but it was delayed to the last week of March 2015 so that they could better optimize the game with feedback from the Alpha Test.
** The Collector's Edition Player's Guide from [=FuturePress=] was delayed for about three weeks.
* ShrugOfGod: Miyazaki has stated that he deliberately makes his games vague to encourage speculation, various interpretations, and guesswork amongst his fans and even himself.
* UrbanLegendOfZelda: ''Bloodborne'' inspired a raft of these when it came out, even moreso than its spiritual cousins. The really notable ones:
** At launch, there were people who would swear up, down, and sideways that Viola's Daughter could actually make it to Oedon Chapel and be saved. Nope — there's no way to save either girl. Although this particular instance actually has a grain of truth to it (see [[{{WhatCouldHaveBeen/Bloodborne}} BB's What Could Have Been page]] for details).
** Another notable rumor stated that having a high "Beasthood" stat would somehow allow you to become a full werewolf. While this isn't true in the base game, ''The Old Hunters'' included a rune that allows the player to assume a beastly form (it's not tied to your Beasthood stat, but it does make the effects of Beasthood more pronounced).
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: [[WhatCouldHaveBeen/{{Bloodborne}} Has its own page]]
* WorkingTitle: The internal name for the game before it became "Bloodborne" was "Project Beast".
