''Bill Nye Saves the World'' is a 2017 Creator/{{Netflix}} exclusive starring Bill Nye, of Series/BillNyeTheScienceGuy fame. In this series, Bill tackles controversial science-related topics that plague the world today, as well as ruthlessly debunking pseudo-scientific practices. Clearly targeted at those who grew up with his original ''Science Guy'' series, each episode plays out like a variety TV show, featuring skits, round-table discussions, experiments and on-location reports by a hand-picked team of correspondents. Celebrities occasionally appear on the show as well.

!!This series contains examples of:
* AuthorTract: The whole series is devoted to Bill's mission to disabuse the public of ideas that run counter to scientific evidence, but several episodes have a segment where "Bill needs a minute" to address opposition to the subject matter from science deniers. Bill makes this obvious in the first episode:
-->'''Bill Nye:''' You thought I was gonna get a new TV show and not talk about climate change?
* BlandNameProduct: Lots of them on the show ostensibly to avoid accusations of product placement. Usually they’d be rebadged to have “Nye” [[PunnyName appear somewhere in the product name]].
* BrokenAesop: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46h-LfNWPn8 The ice cream skit]] aims for teaching that one should accept others for their differences, but ends up coming across as saying that conversion therapy works, that conversion therapy is okay if it's used to make straight people not straight, that everyone who's straight is an uptight HeteronormativeCrusader, that everyone who's not straight is an ExtremeOmnisexual [[AllGaysArePromiscuous sex maniac]] who just has nonstop orgies all day, and finally that straight people [[EveryoneIsBi aren't even actually straight to begin with]], they're just [[ArmoredClosetGay omnisexuals in denial]] (which is of course why it's okay to use conversion therapy on them and why it works, because there's nothing to convert, you're just getting them to realize and admit to what they've been all along).
* CatchPhrase:
** "Blow it up!" for Bill's favorite variant of the fist-bump.
** "We can...dare I say it?...save the WORLD!"[[note]]This is derived from his oft-repeated "...dare I say it?...change the WORLD!" in ''The Eyes of Nye'' and panel debates with other engineers and scientists.[[/note]]
* GravityIsOnlyATheory: Practically every episode. Climate change, evolution, and sexual identity are the subjects that get the most flak from deniers, but Bill also addresses subjects like pseudoscience, AIIsACrapshoot, GM crops, and the germ theory of disease.
* ItsPersonal: The episode about designer babies and screening in-vitro embryos to avoid genetic disease starts off as neutral and mostly light-hearted, but when "Bill needs a minute" he reveals that ataxia -- which currently can't be screened for genetically -- runs in his family, and his sister has to use a walker because of it. Bill continues to bring up his personal interest in ataxia throughout the rest of the episode.
* ScienceIsGood: The series shows how scientific reasoning and technology can be applied to solve major problems and improve quality of life.
* VarietyShow: In a sense. Each episode has a particular CentralTheme that ties all the elements together, but within a single episode are contained any combination of live demonstrations in front of the audience, [[SketchComedy comedy sketches]], "man on the street" style interviews, correspondent field pieces, panel discussions, and monologues from Bill himself.
