As universe after universe is wiped out by the Anti-Monitor, the assembled heroes prepare for a final stand to stop him.
----
!!Tropes:
* AdvertisedExtra: Jefferson doesn't get much to do throughout the episode before being erased, although he does manage to enable Earth-90 Flash's HeroicSacrifice.
* AllForNothing:
** Mia and John's trek into Purgatory to recover Oliver's soul becomes this when the Spectre appears, stating he can't leave as he has a higher purpose.
** Despite Earth-90 Flash's sacrifice to destroy the anti-matter cannon, Earth-1 is destroyed along with everyone except the Seven Paragons.
** The destruction of Earth-1 means that everyone that escaped from Earth-38 has been erased, rendering Oliver's death in vain.
* AndThenWhat: At the end, Luthor asks his fellow survivors what they're going to do next.
* AndThisIsFor: Jefferson attempts this, but is easily taken out by the mind-controlled Harbinger, alongside everyone else.
* AndYourLittleDogToo: As he boasts through Harbinger, the Anti-Monitor vows to not only end the age of heroes, but all the heroes hold dear as well. Driving the point home, the possessed Harbinger is looking right at Iris as that line is spoken.
* AntiClimax: The search for the seven Paragons turns out to be this; five of the seven had been present all along (Hope: Kara; Destiny: Sara; Courage: Kate; Honor: J'onn; Love: Barry), one of them (Truth: Superman of Earth-96) was found in the previous episode, and the last one is revealed in this episode to be an ordinary man who is found with ease (Humanity: Ryan Choi).
* ApocalypseHow: [[ApocalypseHow/ClassZ Class Z]]. The entire multiverse, which includes almost ''every DC franchise'' ever created, is destroyed by the Anti-Monitor.
* ArtEvolution: A post-production variation with the flashback of the Earth-90 Barry and Tina [=McGee=]. [[https://ew.com/tv/2019/12/11/crisis-on-infinite-earths-the-flash-earth-90-death/ According]] to Marc Guggenheim, they had to go into the Warner Brother archives to locate the original footage (since Shipp's ''Flash'' has never been remastered for high-definition). Once the footage was digitized, they then had to tweak the aspect ratio (since the 1990 series was shot in 4x3, whereas The CW ''Flash'' is shot in a 16:9 aspect ratio).
* AtrociousAlias: [[TheNicknamer Cisco]] cringes every time he has to say "Anti-Monitor".
* BackForTheDead: The ''Series/BirdsOfPrey2002'' Huntress and Oracle, as well as the 90s Flash.
* TheBadGuyWins: The entire multiverse is destroyed by the Anti-Monitor, and the only survivors (six of the seven Paragons, [[MyFriendsAndZoidberg plus Lex Luthor]] writing himself over Earth-96 Superman as the seventh) are stranded at the Vanishing Point with no idea of what to do next.
-->'''Anti-Monitor:''' It is done. The infinite Earths are gone. Soon, only the antimatter universe will remain.
* BadassBoast:
** When Kara says that Kate wouldn't be able to stop her from getting to the Book of Destiny, Kate responds with a simple "you'd be surprised".
** The Anti-Monitor boasts upon revealing his presence, [[CurbStompBattle then proceeds to live up to his words]].
--->'''Anti-Monitor:''' It is time to end the age of heroes, and all you hold close.
* BadassInDistress: The '90s Flash is revealed to be the Anti-Monitor's prisoner.
* BeamOWar:
** Flash tries to counter Black Lightning's lightning with his own, causing an explosion which sends everyone in the room flying.
** The Monitor and Harbinger (the latter under the Anti-Monitor's control) engage in one. Since Earth-1 is the last Earth standing by this point, the Anti-Monitor is victorious.
* BirdsOfAFeather: Barry and Jefferson quickly bond over their shared experience of losing a parent as a child. They also share the deceased parents [[GoodParents rearing them to be good]].
* TheBusCameBack: Earth-90 Flash returns, captured by the Anti-Monitor to power his anti-matter cannon.
* TheCameo:
** Creator/JohnWesleyShipp returns as the [[Series/TheFlash1990 Earth-90 Flash]].
** In another cameo designed strictly to show how devastating the Anti-Monitor is, Ashley Scott returns as [[Series/BirdsOfPrey2002 Earth-203 Helena Kyle]], alongside an uncredited voice cameo from Creator/DinaMeyer as Oracle, with their Earth being promptly destroyed.
** Amanda Pays appears as Earth-90 Tina [=McGee=], via [[StockFootage archive footage]] from the 1990 ''Flash'' series.
* CantStayNormal: Despite his objections, the Monitor forcibly restores Cisco's powers, stating that Vibe is needed. And sure enough, his powers are needed to bring back Pariah's memory of how to access the Anti-Monitor's lair.
* CharacterDevelopment: Back in Season Three of [[Series/Supergirl2015 her own series]], Kara considered a friend secretly keeping kryptonite to be a betrayal, but here, she's grown enough to accept that she needs to trust that her friends wouldn't use it unless absolutely necessary, and tells Kate to keep the kryptonite she took from Earth-99 Bruce.
* ChekhovsGun:
** Pariah explains early on that he can only use his powers when the Anti-Monitor allows him to. After the anti-matter cannon is stopped, with Pariah's help, Barry realizes that the Anti-Monitor would only have allowed this if it factored into his plans. Sure enough, the Anti-Monitor has a backup plan in place.
** As Lex says good-bye to Kara and Kate, he opens a book to read. He has a peculiar bookmark in it, [[spoiler:the stolen page from the Book of Destiny.]]
* ColorMotif: Even though he had passed the mantle of Green Arrow on to Mia, Oliver still is asked to take up the mantle of a green-affiliated figure: ComicBook/TheSpectre.
* ContinuityNod:
** When the Spectre introduces himself as Jim Corrigan, Constantine says, "Yeah, not the one I know." Emmett J. Scanlan portrayed Detective Corrigan in ''Series/{{Constantine}}'', while Stephen Lobo plays the version in this episode.
** We're reminded of Cisco's semi-official status as TheNicknamer when he objects to "The Anti-Monitor."
* ContrivedCoincidence:
** Ryan Choi is from Ivy Town, the same town Ray is from.
** Also, it sure is convenient that of the seven paragons, four of them are from Earth-1 and two from Earth-38, and that five were on the ''Waverider'' already.
* CrypticBackgroundReference: As he is overpowered, the Monitor expresses regret for "allowing [the Anti-Monitor's] creation", implying that the Anti-Monitor didn't come into being naturally and that his resemblance to Mar Novu is no coincidence.
* CurbStompBattle: The Anti-Monitor, through Harbinger, easily takes care of the heroes and the Monitor himself.
* DareToBeBadass: Iris manages to convince Ryan Choi to step up and help to save the Multiverse rather than go home to face the apocalypse with his family.
* DarkestHour: The biggest moment of the whole ''Arrowverse'': the entire Multiverse has been erased, along with everyone except the Seven Paragons who had been sent to the Vanishing Point. Unfortunately, Earth-96 Superman is replaced by Lex Luthor due to the latter using the Book of Destiny.
* DealWithTheDevil: Subverted; while Constantine, Mia, and Diggle seek out [[Series/Lucifer2016 Lucifer Morningstar, the Devil himself]] in order to find a way to get to Purgatory to retrieve Oliver's soul, but it turns out that, rather than them needing to make any kind of Faustian pact, Constantine is just calling in a favor.
* DeathByCameo: ''Series/{{Birds of Prey|2002}}'' cast members Ashley Scott and Creator/DinaMeyer return for a single scene in which they got obliterated by antimatter.
* DefiantToTheEnd:
** Even when faced with death, the Monitor just tells the Anti-Monitor that allowing his creation was the only mistake he ever made.
** After Pariah sends the Seven Paragons to safety, the remaining heroes tell the Anti-Monitor that the Paragons will defeat him, just before they're erased by his anti-matter wave.
* DemonicPossession: The Anti-Monitor possesses Harbinger in order to attack the Monitor and his champions directly.
* {{Determinator}}: Earth-96 Superman just won't quit, no matter how many Earths he fails to safe. Nicely linked with his logo, he added some black to it to show that even in the darkest times, hope cuts through the darkness.
* DiabolusExMachina: The Anti-Matter machine is destroyed [[JustInTime just before Earth-1, the last surviving Earth, is struck by an anti-matter wave]]. Then Harbinger reappears on the ''Waverider'', now [[DemonicPossession possessed by the Anti-Monitor]], and absorbs The Monitor's power before resuming the destruction of Earth-1, as well as the Waverider itself.
* DiedInYourArmsTonight: Earth-96 Superman dies in the arms of Kara, before being replaced by Lex.
* DisappointedByTheMotive: Kara notes, with a tone of disgust, that the Anti-Monitor's motive for destroying the multiverse is nothing but sheer megalomania.
* DownerEnding: Earth-90 Flash sacrifices himself to stop the anti-matter wave, but a possessed Harbinger reappears and recreates the wave, destroying Earth-1. Pariah sends the Paragons to the Vanishing Point, but in a case of KickTheDog, Lex Luthor selfishly writes his name over Earth-96 Superman's symbol, erasing Superman-96 and taking his place as the Paragon of Truth.
* DynamicEntry: Jefferson immediately attacks the heroes after being forcefully teleported to the Anti-Monitor's lair, demanding to be sent back to Freeland.
* EmptyEyes: Harbinger assumes these while under the Anti-Monitor's possession.
* EnergyAbsorption: Earth-90 Flash is able to absorb Earth-1 Barry's speed, having acquired the skill in the decades since his [[Series/TheFlash1990 solo series]].
* EurekaMoment: Barry, Ralph and Earth-96 Clark all [[OhCrap realise]], shortly after Harbinger returns, that the tragedy Pariah was meant to witness is tied to Harbinger’s strange behavior. Sure enough, she is being controlled by the Anti-Monitor.
* EverybodysDeadDave: The episode ends with TheMultiverse destroyed, leaving only the Seven Paragons to continue the fight.
* EvilIsPetty: Lex Luthor, in act of [[DirtyCoward cowardice]], [[ItsAllAboutMe ego]], or [[KickTheDog simple spite]], wrote his own name over that of Earth-96 Superman in a page stolen from the Book of Destiny, stranding him with the Paragons at the Vanishing Point while Superman is consumed by the anti-matter wave.
* ExactWords:
** As Flash-90 points out, the Monitor always said "The Flash will die in the Crisis." He never clarified ''which'' Flash that would be.
** Barry stated that the only timeline he saw where everyone lived was the one where he died. When the Earth-90 Flash sacrifices himself in Barry's place, everyone dies except for Barry and his fellow Paragons.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: Those left behind assure the Anti-Monitor that the others will find a way to defeat him and then calmly await the wave.
* {{Fanboy}}: Ryan Choi for Ray.
* FlingALightIntoTheFuture: Just before the ''Waverider'' is erased by the anti-matter wave, Pariah sends the seven Paragons to the Vanishing Point[[note]]i.e. the PlaceBeyondTime that served as the base of operations for the [[Series/LegendsOfTomorrow Time Masters and then later very briefly the Legion of Doom]][[/note]].
* ForcedToWatch: The role the Anti-Monitor has bestowed on Pariah; as "thanks" for releasing the Anti-Monitor, Nash is condemned to watch the evil deity's devastation of the multiverse while all but helpless to stop it.
* ForegoneConclusion: The Monitor proclaimed that "The Flash must die" in the Crisis. However, since there is more than one Flash throughout the multiverse, it was clearly not going to be Barry of Earth-1.
* FreezeFrameBonus:
** The book Lex is reading during the episode (and in which he has hidden a page from the Book of Destiny), is ''Literature/TheCountOfMonteCristo'', about a man who escapes from prison and manages to set himself up as a powerful and important figure, albeit one consumed by his desire for revenge, not totally unlike Lex himself.
** And, he is using what appears to be a folded piece of paper (or maybe a page from a different book!) for a bookmark.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Even the perpetually charming and affable Lucifer does not like Constantine, only putting up with him because he needs to repay a favor.
* FriendshipMoment:
** Earth-1 Flash and Black Lightning bond over their recent tragedies and exchange their real names while shaking hands.
** Kate compliments Kara over her hopeful attitude and decides to come clean about taking the kryptonite from Earth-99's Bruce. Kara decides to let her keep it, telling Kate to have the courage not to use it.
* FullyAbsorbedFinale: For ''Series/TheFlash1990'', seeing as its titular protagonist dies in a HeroicSacrifice. [[https://ew.com/tv/2019/12/11/crisis-on-infinite-earths-the-flash-earth-90-death/ According]] to Eric Wallace, John Wesley Shipp thanked them afterwards for giving his Flash a chance for closure.
* TheGadfly: Lucifer obviously enjoys teasing the heroes.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: Harbinger's eyes glow white when the Anti-Monitor assumes control of her.
* GoThroughMe: Kate is ready to forcefully stop Kara from using the Book of Destiny. Luckily, the situation ends without a fight.
* GravityMaster: The Anti-Monitor easily subdues most of the heroes by increasing the ''Waverider''[='s=] gravity until they can no longer stand.
* HappilyMarried: Earth-90 Barry tells Earth-1 Barry that he and Tina married after his series ended; the use of past tense implies she perished since then.
* TheHeroDies: Earth-90 Barry Allen, the protagonist of the original ''[[Series/TheFlash1990 Flash]]'' TV series, performs a HeroicSacrifice.
* HeroKiller: The Anti-Monitor, already TheDreaded to the heroes fighting against him, not only causes Earth-90's Flash to undergo a HeroicSacrifice, but easily overpowers ''all'' of the heroes, defeats the Monitor, and obliterates the last of the multiverse, killing every hero except Barry, Sara, Kate, Kara, J'onn, and Ryan Choi.
* HeroicSacrifice: Earth-90 Flash sacrifices himself to destroy the anti-matter cannon and save Earth-1 Flash from his fate.
* HiddenDepths: Turns out the Monitor himself had a family at one point.
* HopeSpringsEternal: Earth-96 Superman added the black to his crest to symbolize that even in the darkest of times, hope can cut through and shine in the darkness.
* IChooseToStay: Oliver chooses to remain behind in Purgatory, for whatever Jim Corrigan has planned for him.
* INeedAFreakingDrink: Constantine, after returning from Purgatory without Oliver.
* InTheirOwnImage: The Anti-Monitor's goal in destroying the multiverse is revealed; he wants to replace it with an antimatter universe that he can reign over [[AGodAmI as a god]]. Kara even dismissively refers to him as a megalomaniac after hearing this.
* InternalReveal:
** Diggle finally learns of Oliver's death, and that Harbinger has gone missing.
** Related, the Monitor tells everyone that Harbinger has been taken by the Anti-Monitor.
** Cisco and Frost learn that the chamber underneath Central City is the Anti-Monitor's prison/lair, and that Nash has transformed into Pariah.
** Ryan Choi learns about Ralph being Elongated Man and about Ray Palmer being the Atom.
** Team Flash finally learns about the destruction of Earth-2.
* {{Irony}}:
** After spending a whole season preparing to die in order to save everyone, Barry ends up being the only member of his team to remain alive.
** Lois remarks that she is at the center of one of the biggest news stories in all of history, but apparently no-one is going to be around to read it.
** Thanks to some cruel trickery, constant liar and ManipulativeBastard Lex Luthor is now the Paragon of Truth.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Lex is the last person Kara would ever listen to about such a thing, but he's right that using the Book of Destiny to resurrect an entire universe would drive the user insane. Even Kate isn't willing to let Kara risk it for exactly this reason.
* KilledOffScreen: ''All'' Earths excluding Earth-1 (which meets its end at the end of the episode) are disintegrated throughout the course of the episode.
* ALadyOnEachArm: Constantine, Diggle and Mia meet Lucifer just as he steps out of his club with two dates.
* LastOfHisKind: At the end of the episode, Kara is the last Kryptonian in the entire multiverse, while J'onn is the last Martian. Barry is also the last metahuman in existence. Downplayed with humanity, which has a whole ''four'' survivors in Sara, Kate, Ryan Choi, and Lex Luthor.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall:
** When Elongated Man appears on the Waverider and becomes starstruck at the sight of so many heroes, Killer Frost tells the others not to pay him any mind because it's his first crossover.
** The last Paragon to be revealed is also the latest addition to the entire Arrowverse cast.
** Constantine meeting a Jim Corrigan different from the one he knows blatantly lampshades the [[TheOtherDarrin change of actors for the same character]].
** The impact of the {{Cliffhanger}} gets even worse because the Crisis will only resume the next year.
* {{Leitmotif}}: As with ''Elseworlds'' the previous year, the return of the Earth-90 Flash brings with him the return of Danny Elfman's theme from his show.
* LightIsNotGood: The [[DemonicPossession possessed]] Harbinger's [[GlowingEyesOfDoom eyes]] glow white, and as Earth-1 and the Waverider are consumed by antimatter, everything disappears into a white void.
* LoopholeAbuse: One of the big prophecies was that the Flash must vanish in the Crisis. Nothing in the prophecies [[ProphecyTwist said which one]], leading Earth-90 Flash to steal Earth-1 Flash's speed so he can do the job.
* MakesUsEven: Lucifer declares this regarding his deal with Constantine.
* ManipulativeBastard: The Anti-Monitor played on Nash's hatred for the Monitor in order to get his own freedom.
* MeaningfulName:
** Lucifer's world is Earth-[[NumberOfTheBeast 666]].
** Oliver's purgatory takes on the appearance of Lian Yu, which (as Mia lampshades) literally means "purgatory" in Mandarin.
* MoreHeroThanThou: Barry is just about to make that fated HeroicSacrifice, when Earth-90 Flash intervenes.
* MyGreatestFailure:
** Not being by Oliver's side during Crisis is this for Diggle.
** The Monitor is revealed to have two of these: failing to value his family over his work, and allowing the creation of the Anti-Monitor.
* MythologyGag:
** We finally have a comics-accurate Cosmic Treadmill. The sight of a Flash being forced to run on a treadmill for an indeterminate amount of time harkens back to an iconic episode of ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold''. A further connection can be made with which Flash is using the Treadmill, and which actor guest-starred in the aforementioned episode.
** Lucifer mispronounces Constantine's name with what is actually the ''correct'' pronunciation of the name in the original comics, likely as a ShoutOut to those fans who were annoyed that it was changed for both the television and [[Film/{{Constantine}} film]] adaptations of the character.
--->'''Lucifer:''' Consider us even, John Constan-TYNE.\
'''John:''' ''[unamused chuckle]'' [[PronouncingMyNameForYou Constan-TEEN]].\
'''Lucifer:''' Is it? [[TheGadfly I don't care.]]
** The Anti-Monitor's true name is revealed to be Mobius, just as it was in the New 52.
** Barry tells Iris that even if they're separated, implicitly by his death, that he will ''always'' run home to her. Following his death in the comics' ''ComicBook/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths'', and upon his return in ''ComicBook/FinalCrisis'', one of the first things Barry did was return to Iris.
** ''Series/{{Birds of Prey|2002}}'' had a tendency to use excessive SlowMotion shots in its action sequences. Naturally, this effect would be used once again during Huntress's opening cameo.
* NervesOfSteel: Kate calmly talks Kara out of trying to use the Book of Destiny, while making it clear that she's willing to stop her by force if necessary. Kara even acknowledges that it took a lot of guts to stand up to her the way Kate did.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: The Monitor warping away Earth-90 Flash last year during ''Series/{{Elseworlds|2018}}'' allowed the Anti-Monitor to capture him and use him to power the anti-matter cannon.
* NoBodyLeftBehind: Once Earth-90's Flash sacrifices himself, the logo from his suit is all that remains.
* NoodleIncident: As is common with Constantine, this is how his experience with Series/{{Lucifer|2016}} is brought up. Apparently he helped with something involving Maze, and Lucifer owes him for it, but much like many others [[TheFriendNobodyLikes doesn't like him]]. However, it's also somewhat unusual among John Constantine noodle incidents in that it explicitly involves him [[DimensionalTraveler having traveled to another Earth]].
* NotHisSled: The infamous comic death of the Flash is faithfully recreated, but it's not the Bary Allen that everyone expected.
* NotSoStoic: The Monitor shows more humanity than ever in this episode, reminiscing about his family to Lois and mournfully lamenting that he failed to value them more than his work.
* OffscreenTeleportation: The Monitor is on the bridge of the ''Waverider'' when Cisco leaves, and then in the corridor right in front of him.
* OhCrap: After Harbinger reappears, Barry quickly realizes that the Anti-Monitor ''wanted'' her back on the ''Waverider'', and that since Pariah is present, a tragedy is imminent.
* OutlivingOnesOffspring:
** Jefferson is furious and devastated to know that his daughters perished along with his entire world.
** With the annihilation of Earth-1, Ryan has outlived his infant daughter. Diggle and Harbinger also outlive their son, [[DownplayedTrope although only by a matter of moments before they, too, are killed by the anti-matter wave]].
* PassingTheTorch: Before dying, Earth-90's Barry asks his Earth-1 counterpart to keep riding the lightning.
* PoweredByAForsakenChild: In the Anti-Monitor's prison, Earth-90 Flash was held captive and forced to act as a perpetual motion engine for an anti-matter cannon, propagating its destructive wave throughout the multiverse.
* ThePowerOfHate: Lex credits his ability to control the Book of Destiny to his hate of Superman. He notes that the scale Kara wants to use it on -- recreating an entire universe -- would likely drive her insane.
* PowerParasite: A rare heroic example, as Earth-90 Barry temporarily drains Earth-1 Barry's powers to incapacitate him and keep him from sacrificing himself (and maybe give himself a boost to help get the job done).
-->'''Earth-90 Barry:''' When you do this speedster thing long enough, you learn some neat tricks.
* ProperlyParanoid: The Anti-Monitor anticipated that the heroes might find his anti-matter cannon and remove Earth-90 Flash from it, so he rigged it to destroy all universes at once if that were to happen.
* ProphecyTwist: As the Monitor foretold, Barry Allen dies -- but not the one we thought.
* PsychoticSmirk: Harbinger cracks a bone-chilling smile when she's revealed to be possessed by the Anti-Monitor.
* RayOfHopeEnding: The Anti-Monitor wins, destroying the entire multiverse and nearly all of the heroes, but Pariah manages to save the seven Paragons (save Earth-96 Superman, whose place is usurped by Lex Luthor) by sending them to the Vanishing Point, while in the afterlife, Oliver is poised to become the Spectre.
* RealAfterAll: Jefferson is surprised to see that Superman is real outside of his reality.
* RefusalOfTheCall: When Novu tells Cisco that he is needed as Vibe, the latter obviously turns him down. Novu isn't having any of that.
* TheReveal:
** The reason Earth-2 fell to the anti-matter wave so early on is because the Anti-Monitor used that world as a test target for his anti-matter cannon, before unleashing the weapon upon the remainder of the multiverse.
** We find out what happened to Black Lightning after he disappeared at the end of his last episode: he was saved by Pariah to help stop the anti-matter cannon.
* RewritingReality: Unlike how it's usually operated, Lex Luthor uses a page from the Book of Destiny to replace Superman-96 by writing his name over the symbol representing him on it. Even Lex wasn't sure it would work.
* RunningGag: Throughout this episode, Cisco expresses hatred for the Anti-Monitor's name.
* {{Sadist}}: The Anti-Monitor shows off a twisted sense of cruelty in this episode: as it turns out, Nash becoming Pariah wasn't a punishment imposed by the Monitor, but an act of sheer sadism on the part of the Anti-Monitor. He also allows Pariah to bear witness not only to the destruction of the multiverse, but to smaller, personal tragedies, such as Earth-90 Barry's HeroicSacrifice and his victory over the heroes.
* SelfDestructMechanism: The anti-matter cannon has one, triggered after Earth-90's Flash is removed from the treadmill.
* SenselessSacrifice: Earth-90 Barry's sacrifice winds up in vain due to Earth-1 getting destroyed anyway.
* ShoutOutToShakespeare: Constantine notes that Oliver's "[[Theatre/{{Hamlet}} shuffled off this mortal coil.]]"
* SoleSurvivor:
** With the annihilation of every Earth but Earth-1, Jefferson Pierce and Earth-96 Superman are the sole survivors of their worlds.
** At the end of the episode, the few surviving characters are this in a few ways:
*** Kara, J'onn, and Lex respectively are the only survivors of Earth-38's Krypton, Mars, and Earth respectively.
*** Barry is the last survivor of Team Flash.
*** Sara is the last surviving member of both the Legends and Team Arrow.
*** Each of the remaining characters is now the only surviving member of their family.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Lex Luthor, in epic fashion. He literally ''edits'' the Book of Destiny to make himself a Paragon.
* SpeakOfTheDevil: Immediately after Diggle says that Oliver would come back to his family, the amnesiac Oliver leaps out and attacks him.
* StealthPun: Souls choose the form of their afterlife, according to Constantine. For Oliver, it's Lian Yu. Mia then remembers the meaning of that name in Mandarin.
* SurvivalMantra: Jefferson recites his school motto while trying to absorb the energy of the antimatter cannon. Everyone else just gives him weird looks.
* SurvivorsGuilt: Jefferson feels horrible about being his Earth's SoleSurvivor.
* TakeUpMySword: When Diggle, Mia and Constantine find Oliver's spirit, they also meet James Corrigan, who asks Oliver to take up his role as the Spectre.
* ThemeMusicPowerUp: Danny Elfman's main theme for ''Series/TheFlash1990'' plays one last time over Earth-90 Barry's HeroicSacrifice.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Lex Luthor rewrites himself as one of the seven Paragons, in place of Earth-96 Superman.
* UncertainDoom: While his Earth is also destroyed, it's not mentioned whether Lucifer also died or not. Given that Lucifer's cameo takes place prior to the events of [[Series/{{Lucifer}} his own show]], it can be assumed that he either survives or will be brought back somehow.
* WhamShot:
** Just before Barry makes his sacrifice, Earth-90 Flash suddenly grabs him to steal his speed.
** Harbinger's eyes glowing an ominous white, revealing she's possessed by the Anti-Monitor.
** The anti-matter wave, thought to have receded, suddenly emerges again and consumes the last remaining universe, Earth-1.
** As the survivors regroup at the Vanishing Point, Earth-96 Superman collapses then disappears, replaced by Luthor.
* WhatTheHellHero:
** Diggle is pissed about Sara of all people trying to resurrect Oliver with the Lazarus Pit, knowing what it does to a person.
** Kate opposes Kara's plan to restore the multiverse using the Book Of Destiny, pointing out that nobody knows what could happen to Kara or the Earths she wants to save.
** Jefferson is ''pissed'' to learn that Pariah pulled him to safety, but not his family.
* WowingCthulhu:
** Diggle tells the Monitor to cut the crap and tell him where his wife is.
** Lois manages to get the Monitor to talk about his family and even [[NotSoStoic show emotion]], earning Novu's respect.
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: Iris encourages Ryan Choi to help the group, as she too is just an ordinary person, but both of them remind the heroes of what they fight for.
* YouOweMe: Implied with Lucifer only helping John Constantine because of [[NoodleIncident him helping with Maze]].
* YouRemindMeOfX: Lucifer tells Diggle he reminds him of his brother.
* YouTaughtMeThat: When Earth-90 Barry asks Cisco to send him back to the treadmill so he can do the HeroicSacrifice to destroy the antimatter cannon, Earth-1 Barry tries to dissuade Cisco first from sending him there and then leaving him there, but Cisco cites Barry's teaching that leaders must know when to do hard choices.
