Scrooge and Launchpad explore a land where dinosaurs still live, but the kids tag along against Scrooge's directions to the contrary.
!!This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
* ChekhovsGun:
** The wheels the cavemen have invented are later used to defeat the Tyrannosaur.
** The caveman chief's love of Scrooge's hat later comes in handy when freeing Webby, by trading the hat for her.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Launchpad comes in to tell Scrooge that he failed to catch the ([[FurryConfusion non-anthropomorphic]]) bird he wanted and happens to mention the dinosaurs he discovered. Scrooge exclaims, "Launchpad! Do you realize what you've done?" and Launchpad responds that he'll catch one of the birds next time. [[JustifiedTrope It's implied Launchpad literally doesn't know what he found]], given that he calls the dinosaur that chased him a big lizard.
* FantasticallyIndifferent: When Launchpad crawls in on his hands and knees to see Scrooge, Ms. Featherby barely looks up from doing her nails.
* FurryConfusion: Launchpad finds the dinosaurs by accident when he's hunting an exotic bird that Scrooge wants. As usual, how this fits into the fact that the main cast are mostly anthropomorphized ducks is not addressed.
* InformedSpecies:
** The parrot-like bird Launchpad was supposed to bring back is identified as a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Booby booby]].
** The baby dinosaur and its mother are referred to as ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadrosaurus Hadrosaurus]]'', but they look more like sauropods with duckbills and antenna-like crests on their heads.
* InventingTheWheel: The cavemen in the lost world have made dozens of wheels without any apparent purpose other than decoration. Also forms a ChekhovsGun.
* LostWorld: The characters discover one inhabited by LivingDinosaurs and other prehistoric life.
* RedundantRescue: The boys, Launchpad, and Scrooge go to rescue Webby from the natives, only to find her telling them a story.
* ShoutOut: As they climb up the cliff to the lost world, Scrooge and Launchpad briefly encounter a horned reptilian creature that resembles [[http:/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Palace_Dinosaurs Crystal Palace]]'s old-fashioned representation of ''Iguanodon''.
* ShownTheirWork: At least by '80s cartoon standards. The main [[HerbivoresAreFriendly friendly herbivorous dinosaur]] that befriends the protagonists and later combats the vicious T. rex isn’t a generic stegosaur or sauropod but rather a hadrosaur, a.k.a. a [[VisualPun duckbill]] (though its duck-likeness is exaggerated here), which were also preyed upon by T. rex in real life.
* TerrifyingTyrannosaur: A ''Tyrannosaurus'' serves as the main antagonist of the episode.
* TerrorDactyl: One attacks Launchpad in his plane as he tries to get back to Duckburg. It strikes again when Scrooge and Launchpad arrive in the LostWorld, and it chases away the boys when they land in its nest. It’s a prime example of this trope, sporting scaly skin, grasping feet, and bat-like wings, it stands on two legs, is oversized (big enough to rip an airplane apart), and combines features of ''Pteranodon'' and ''Rhamphorhynchus''. [[MonsterIsAMommy She]] also has an egg that’s bigger than herself.
