Star becomes obsessed with a 'magical' Earth product, and goes out to get it. With Marco busy at karate class, Star's ignorance of Earth culture gets her in trouble.

* OneDimensionalThinking: {{Subverted|Trope}}, where Star Butterfly is in a shopping cart going down a slope road in a straight line away from people from a pirate-themed restaurant [[LiteralMinded (who she mistook for actual pirates)]], and almost hits a bus going in the opposite direction towards her when she doesn't turn the cart to the side, but then uses magic to conjure up a horse in the road who kicks her cart over the bus and in front of the As Featured on TV store.
* AgonyOfTheFeet: The test at the karate dojo is...walking over hot coals.
* BabyCarriage: Played with. When Star commandeers the shopping cart, the mother who was using it shouts that her baby was inside, then glances back to see that her baby is strapped to her back.
* BlatantLies: After knocking Marco's banana ice cream out of his hands, Star claims there was a fly on it.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: The Banagic Wand is ''incredibly'' suggestive looking. Bananas fit into it much like a penis in a condom. ''And'' froyo squirts out of it:
-->'''Marco:''' Yeah, it's one of those late-night commercials.
* FantasyHelmetEnforcement: When Star commandeers the grocery cart, the first thing she does before riding it is use her wand to make herself a helmet.
* FreezeFrameBonus: Several in the record store: signs that say "No touch" (as Star proceeds to touch), "Not for sale, so don't ask!", and multiple music {{Shout Out}}s.
* IceCreamKoan: Star mistakes the confused remarks of the cashier at the record store for some kind of riddle.
-->'''Star:''' Is this a "better store"?\
'''Cashier:''' Uh... better than what?\
'''Star:''' Ugh, ''more'' riddles...
* IResembleThatRemark: Marco expresses his concern with Star going out to look for the Banagic Wand by herself with her limited knowledge of earth culture. Cut to Star attacking the mailman after thinking he’s stealing their mail.
-->'''Star:''' Hey! Get out of our yard box you scoundrel!
* LiteralMinded: The commercial for the Banagic Wand says it's available at better stores, so Star goes looking for a "better store".
* MoodWhiplash: A manic paced, silly episode where everybody got what they wanted veers suddenly when Star hears that Marco underestimated her, causing her to slowly knock away his frozen banana treat while keeping a blank facial expression and leaving with a weak excuse.
* MundaneMadeAwesome: Star gets a lot of epic speeches about nothing in particular, from having to face true boredom to having to go on her quest for a Banagic Wand without Marco because he's busy with karate practice.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Jeremy's antics trying to make Marco fail eventually make Marco angry enough that he's able to walk across the hot coals without noticing.
* OrMyNameIsnt: Star uses this line when vowing to obtain a Banagic Wand:
-->'''Star:''' I swear to baby dolphin giggles I will find the Banagic Wand before this day is done or die trying, or my name’s not Star Butterfly!
* ShoppingCartAntics: Star uses a shopping cart to avoid the staff of a pirate-themed restaurant she magicked.
* ShoutOut: One of the albums in the record store is called ''[[Music/AdamAndTheAnts Ant Music]]'', a sticker nearby it is a [[Music/TheRollingStonesBand mouth sticking out its tongue]], and a sticker on the wall simply says "[[Music/TheCramps Cramp]]".
* StealthHiBye: Star pulls this on Marco, replacing herself with the board he's practicing with in the space of a second.
* TranquilFury: Star reacts to Marco underestimating her by passive-aggressively knocking his dessert out of his hands and walking away with a blank expression on her face.
