8	Even a silly, quirky Mii RPG has its frightening moments.

10	* While the premise may come across as silly at first, it can be incredibly chilling to see the BigBad steal the faces right off of Miis.

12	** Seeing the Miis who didn't get their faces stolen look on in fright can feel off as well.
13	--->'''Dark Lord:''' And those who've been spared... take a nice long look at your poor little friends... AND DESPAIR!
14	** This really bears further elaboration. Imagine having one's face stolen by the Dark Lord, and now imagine that the heroes going around are freeing faces by defeating monsters. Some monsters only have a part of a face instead of the full thing since that seems exclusive to bosses; any of the monsters beaten could only have just a portion of someone's face while another portion of that person's face is stuck on another monster in who knows where. While the affected victim gets part of their face back, imagine how much longer they have to wait until the rest of their face comes back to them—preferably before they end up with the same fate as the original faceless Mii who eventually faded away and became the dark curse because of not having his face.
15	* That's not even getting into the areas that have been affected by the Dark Lord. The sky gets dark and has an unnerving wave effect in it while off kilter music that sounds like moaning plays giving a disturbed feeling.
16	* The Great Sage getting taken over by the Dark Curse, turning them into the even more powerful Darker Lord. His leitmotif is even a DarkReprise of the Great Sage theme to show how unsettling the situation is.
17	** Matter of fact, ''the hero'' [[FridgeHorror would've become the next Dark Lord]] if it hadn't been for the Great Sage butting in; their scream of genuine horror even shows they're too frightened to face such a fate.
18	* If a Mii gets eaten, its turn will (obviously) be skipped as it yells for help. One such line is "I'm melting..." They really aren't, but it's still a gruesome comment.
19	** However, this becomes NightmareRetardant when you realize that only one particular personality speaks this line: Cool. Considering their show-offy nature, the Cool Mii is just trying to be dramatic.
20	** On a related note, Cautious allies of a Mii that's been SwallowedWhole will understandably freak out that their teammate is gonna get digested.
21	** Teammates about to attack the monster who ate a Mii will even cry out to the monster to release them before attacking.
22	* The Demon Spider enemy class definitely lives up to their name, looking freaky and moving in an unnerving way. The boss version,"Arachno-Middle Fab Fairy" is even worse; it can coat your party in tiny spiders! [[BlatantLies Arachnophobes, enjoy!]]
23	* Using Hyper sprinkles causes your Mii(s) to sport [[SlasherSmile Slasher Smiles]] as the music suddenly speeds up. You also can't control your protagonist if they're affected, and their attacks are accompanied by eerie giggling.
24	* Traversing the Otherworld can easily be unnerving, as it is littered with stolen, detached Mii facial features floating in the air, ready to be given to monsters. 25	** The two dot-faces on the i's of "Miitopia" that sing the little "doo-de-doo-doo" on the title screen seem to be distorted to sound as if they're laughing at you, to top it all off.
26	* After the FinalBoss fight, the Great Sage will tell you the origin of the Dark Curse. During the part where the Dark Curse's former human self is [[DrivenToSuicide removing his face]] in the backstory, the music that accompanies the scene is so eeriely dissonant that listening to it ''without'' the cutscene played out is worse.
