The Reverend Horton Heat are one of the defining bands of {{Psychobilly}} in the US. Formed by musician Jim Heath in 1986 (as well as Horton Heat being his stage name), the band mixes several genres into what is best described by the band as "country-fed punkabilly", with a frantic pace and unique live performances. Heath's lyrics tends to be humorous and self-deprecating.

!!Psychobilly Tropeout!:
* AllDesertsHaveCacti: "Ain't No Saguaro in Texas" is a complaint about this trope.
* BreakupSong: "Where The Hell Did You Go With My Toothbrush" is a humorous one written after Jim's wife left him.
* CarefulWithThatAxe: Heath tends to yell excitedly in song intros.
* FoodSongsAreFunny: "Eat Steak"
* IntercourseWithYou: "Let Me Teach You How To Eat" is food puns mixed with allusions to sex acts and the music video amplifies the effect. "Love Whip" is both this as well as ObligatoryBondageSong. Many other songs as well...
* OdeToIntoxication: Roughly half the band's songs are about drinking.
* SexDrugsAndRockNRoll: The prime focus of most of the lyrical output of the band.
