The story is about an average Japanese {{Salaryman}} named Nobuo Makabe and his homemaker wife, who just so happens to be an extraterrestrial.

!!This manga contains examples of:

* ACupAngst: The alien briefly suffers from this in Chapter Eight, when she finds a selection of porn magazines and [=DVD=]s starring women with large breasts.
* AlienAbduction: Nobuo met his bride when her spaceship abducted him.
* BizarreAlienReproduction: The alien reproduces by encasing herself in a caterpillar-like chrysalis, which she and the baby both burst out of when the child is ready to be born.
* BrokenMasquerade: The story ends with aliens all over the world revealing their true identities.
* ClarkesThirdLaw: The Venusian human disguise necklaces seem to be magic, but Madoka describes hers as "the latest model", suggesting that they are in fact just very advanced technology.
* EmbarrassingOldPhoto: When the alien's parents come down to Earth for a visit, they show off some old family photos, one of which - to her extreme consternation - is a cute picture of her as a baby.
* ExposedExtraterrestrials: The alien does not wear clothes in her natural form, and nudity is a part of her culture. She knows enough to wear clothing in her human disguise, though.
* FlyingSaucer: The alien's parents fly a quintessential, '50s-BMovie-style model.
* FlockOfWolves: [[spoiler:A full ''third'' of the people in Nobuo and the alien's apartment building are aliens.]]
* FullBodyDisguise: When going out in public, the alien wears a skintight bodysuit that makes her look like a human. It's even anatomically correct, even though she always wears clothes.
* GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe: The alien looks just like an attractive human woman, aside from her huge eyes, scaly patches of skin, and tendrils for hair. Same goes for her mother.
* HappilyMarried: Nobuo and the alien utterly adore each other. Same goes for the alien's parents, who get along fabulously after who-knows-how-many years together.
* IHaveYourWife: At the end of Chapter Five, Asora is abducted by a blob-like alien. The entirety of Chapter Six involves Nobuo, his wife and the Venusian siblings trying to rescue her.
* InnocentFanserviceGirl: Though the alien can remember that humans are expected to wear clothes when she's ''sober'', getting her drunk can make her forget, and try to take her clothes (and even her human skin) off in the middle of an office party.
* InterspeciesRomance: Nobuo and the alien of course, but weirdly, the alien herself is also the product of one. Her mother looks similar to her, but her father is a blob-shaped [[StarfishAliens Starfish Alien]].
* LosingAShoeInTheStruggle: Nobuo lost one of his shoes when he was abducted.
* LoveAtFirstSight: The moment Nobuo first laid eyes on his future wife, he found her so beautiful that he immediately asked her to marry him. [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]- he only said that because he was delirious from the abduction experience, and wasn't thinking clearly. Luckily, they turned out to be a great match anyway!
* MistakenForCheating: The Venusian siblings see Nobuo going into a sex hotel with another woman and assume that he's cheating on his wife. When they confront him, it turns out that the woman IS his wife - her usual skin is out for maintenance, and the manufacturers accidentally sent the wrong model skin as a replacement, but she still wanted to try it out. The reason that she and Nobuo went into the hotel is because the suit is too tight on her, so they ducked inside so that she could take it off for a bit.
* MsFanservice: Madoka isn't afraid to show off her body.
* NoNameGiven: Whatever the alien's name is, it's never stated in the story. The endnotes refer to her as simply "the alien wife".
* NotWhatItLooksLike: The very first story opens with Nobuo taking a bath and the alien cleaning all of her human skinsuits in the washing machine, when suddenly a neighbor comes to the door unexpectedly. The couple scrambles to take the alien's suit out of the washer, put it on her, get a shirt on her, and answer the door... and of course, when it opens, the neighbor seems them both soaking wet and nearly naked, gets the wrong idea, and awkwardly sees herself out.
* ObnoxiousInLaws: Nobuo's mother acts like this towards the alien.
* OcularGushers: The alien's eyes (as well as her dad's) shoot powerful lasers when they cry.
* OhCrap: The incident under ACupAngst is settled when Nobuo reveals he was just holding the magazine for a friend. He then promptly freaks out when the alien asks about the magazines she found focused on ''butts''...
* PaperThinDisguise: In stark contrast to her mother's perfectly convincing human suit, the couple's baby daughter Asora goes out in public with her bulbous glowing eyes still in full view, and her tentacle hair merely hidden under a hat.
* PrecociousCrush: Asora develops one on Ichimaru.
* PrehensileHair: The alien's hair is made of tendrils, and she uses them to do dozens of household chores at once.
* RiteOfPassage: In the alien's culture, the passage from childhood to adulthood is achieved when one probes an alien abductee. However, she was too afraid of hurting her subject (Nobuo) to go through with it.
* SeductionProofMarriage: Madoka repeatedly fails to seduce Nobuo since he considers his wife the only woman for him.
* {{Shapeshifting}}: The Venusian siblings Madoka and Ichimaru, a pair of aliens who, unlike Nobuo's wife, can change instantly between their true form and their human disguises via special necklaces.
* SleepModeSize: After being captured, the Delaro-sa alien is implanted with a chip which prevents it from growing any larger than its current size.
* {{Telepathy}}: Seems to be the only way that the alien's father can communicate with Nobuo. The alien herself also speaks with him in this manner while she's in her cocoon.
* TimeSkip: The last third of the final chapter takes place eight years after TheMasquerade is broken, and Earth has been made a member of the Galactic Alliance.
* TranslatorMicrobes: The alien's planet has developed a universal translation device that gets plenty of use when visitors come to the Makabes. The alien seems to have also learned to speak Japanese naturally, however, as she can still communicate perfectly fine with Nobuo even if the device malfunctions.
* TheVamp: Madoka falls in love with Nobuo, gets a job at his office, and goes about trying to win him over in any way that she can, up to and including sexually propositioning him in the middle of the parking garage. Nobuo isn't tempted one bit.
* WeaknessTurnsHerOn: In one chapter, Ichimaru challenges Nobuo to a race hoping to get the alien to fall in love with him, since he believes WomenPreferStrongMen. While he does win, the alien still ignores him in favor of her (slightly) injured husband.
-->'''Ichimaru:''' ''I see... sympathy for an injured comrade... so '''this''' is the love of the earthlings!''
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: While Madoka and Nobuo are alone in a parking garage, the former asks for a ride home before stripping, with the obvious implication that she'll have sex with him in his car. He refuses near instantly because [[SeductionProofMarriage the only woman for him is his wife]].
* WomenPreferStrongMen: Ichimaru believes this, so he challenges Nobuo to a race since he thinks winning will get the alien to fall in love with him. {{Subverted}} since the alien would rather tend to her injured husband.
