Congratulations! You've just finished writing the first few episodes of your new television show. But probably because your demographic is young and wants things to be predictable, or that you want to be different from other shows, you decide to add a song to close out every episode.

In order to create a sense of unity between the creator and his audience, and/or between all the fans of the show, a song may be used as an EveryEpisodeEnding. Often, the presenter will address the fun they had for that episode, but emphasize that now it's time to conclude the episode and say goodbye to everybody. As a spark of hope they'll be informed to tune in next week or the next day, depending on how frequently the show airs.

In most cases, an Wrap-Up Song is used at the end of children's programming; on occasion it is the final number in a piece intended for an older audience, usually variety shows (which is doubtless where this trope got its start). May double as -- or occasionally be replaced by -- a SolemnEndingTheme.

A sub-trope of EveryEpisodeEnding.

* The Creator/WildBrain prints of Animation/NoonboryAndTheSuper7s English dub end each episode with a song about the five human senses, as a nod to how the main characters have sensory-based superpowers.
-->See us as we dance around\
Hear us stomping on the ground\
Smell the flowers in the air\
And touch a fuzzy teddy bear!\
Tasting berries has a way\
Of making me enjoy this special day!

* The 2005 version of Film/TheProducers adds an original song as a post-credits stinger named "Goodbye!" in which the whole cast sings that the film is over, thanks for staying this long, now please leave. The final three words of the song (and the whole film) are sung by director Creator/MelBrooks himself:
-->Mel Brooks: GEEETT OOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUTT! [looking directly at the camera] It's over!

* "I Love You" from Series/BarneyAndFriends is one of the most famous examples. With this song, Barney and his friends express how much they love one another unconditionally at the end of each episode. Beginning with Season 9, Barney would sing it to the viewer if no other cast members are with him.
* Each episode of Series/BassieEnAdriaan had a closing song that would tell viewers it was time to say goodbye, but they should tune in next week.
* Series/BearInTheBigBlueHouse features a song at the end of the show's episodes where Bear and Luna sing a song about saying goodbye at the end of the day. In a few episodes, other characters join as well, including one notable installment in which nearly the entire cast sings the song and in some cases add additional lyrics.
* Every episode of Series/BluesRoom ends with Blue and her friends singing "Way Great Playdate (With You)".
* Series/TheBookOfPooh ends with "Goodbye For Now". In it, Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends say goodbye to the viewer until they watch the show again.
* Series/TheChicaShow: This is not heard at the end of each episode, but Mr. and Mrs. C sing "Closing the Shop" as they clean the Coop.
%%* Series/Frasier ends each episode with "Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs".
* Series/TheDoodlebops ends every episode with a "goodbye for now" version of the theme song.
* The Fox Cubhouse ends with this song, informing the viewer that while it's time to go, that they'll see each other again someday.
--> It's great to spend the day together with all your cubhouse friends.\
Good-bye for now, but don't forget. Soon, we'll be together again.
* Series/TheFreshBeatBand ends with the song "Great Day", as the band celebrates the problem being solved and what a great day it has been.
* Series/TheGoodNightShow ends with the "Goodnight Song," sung by Melanie and later Nina.
* Series/TheSproutSharingShow: The Goodbye Song
* Series/SproutsWigglyWaffle has "The Wiggles Say Goodbye," sung to the tune of the main theme.
* Series/MusicalMorningsWithCoo has "Today's Just Getting Started," sung by Coo as she wonders what the viewers will be doing today and wishes them good luck.
* Every episode of Series/ImaginationMovers ends with the song "Mover Music". In the last 2 seasons, the credits roll while the song still goes on.
* Every episode of Series/ItsABigBigWorld ends with the song "Try to Touch the Sky", as Snook sings to the audience that their time is through for now and will be waiting the next time they come to the World Tree.
* Each episode of Series/JacksBigMusicShow ends with a goodbye song, which is a variant of the Main/ThemeTune.
* Series/LambChopsPlayAlong uses "The Song That Never Ends" (which is known as "The song that doesn't end" here) at the end of each episode. The children sing it as they leave, much to the annoyance of Shari. Just when she thinks it's over, Charlie attempts to sing it again, causing Shari to be furious.
* The song "Bing Bang" ends each episode of Series/LazyTown. It's a non-standard Wrap-Up Song as it's not about saying goodbye and is just an energetic song.
* The original run of Series/TheMickeyMouseClub ended with a reprise of the opening theme about saying goodbye:
--> Now it's time to say goodbye\
To all our company\
M-I-C, (See you real soon!)\
K-E-Y, (Why? Because we like you!)\
M-O-U-S-E!
* Series/MisterRogersNeighborhood ends with "It's Such A Good Feeling". It's about how the viewer will see Mister Roger again soon:
--> It's such a good feeling to know you're alive\
It's a such happy feeling you're growing inside\
And when you wake up, ready to say "I think I'll make a snappy new day"!\
It's such a good feeling\
A very good feeling\
The feeling you know that\
I'll be back\
When the day is new the word "day" is changed to "week" for episodes aired on Fridays\
And I'll have more ideas for you\
And you'll have things you'll want to talk about\
I will, too.
* All episodes of Creator/MorecambeAndWise ended with the duo doing a song and dance routine to the standard "Bring Me Sunshine" as the credits rolled.
* Series/OutOfTheBox has "The Goodbye Song" (quoted above), which is sung to the audience at the end of each episode. The two leads, Tony and Vivian, sing to the audience about how it's "goodbye for now" but they'll meet again soon. There has been an instance where the kids (sans Tony) sing along as well.
* Ribert and Robert's Wonderworld has each episode ending with the titular duo saying goodbye to the viewers (known as Power Pals) with a song about how much there is to "love to learn and learn to love in everything [they] do!".
* Series/SesameStreet:
** Series/ElmosWorld originally ended with Elmo playing the piano and singing a song ToTheTuneOf "Jingle Bells" about that day's subject, ending by saying goodbye to Dorothy, the viewers, and the topic of the day, followed by this last line:
---> "That's Elmo's Wooooorld!"
** Recent versions of Elmo's World end with Elmo's HappyDance, and encourages the viewer to join him!
** The British spin-off Series/TheFurchesterHotel has "Don't Check Out", in which the monsters plead with the viewer not to leave.
** The Journey To Ernie segments end with Big Bird celebrating the finding of Ernie with the song, "We Found Ernie".
** The main show itself started playing a song called "Smarter, Stronger, Kinder" over the end credits starting with the ChannelHop to Creator/HBO. It has just about all the Muppet characters singing about how much there is to learn on Sesame Street.
%%* On Music/ShaNaNas variety show, the song "Goodnight Sweetheart" served this purpose.
* Series/SharonLoisAndBramsElephantShow ends with the classic children's song "Skinnamarink", but with the cast remarking about how awesome the viewer is and telling them that they'll see them next time.
* Series/TheSonnyAndCherComedyHour. Music/SonnyAndCher sing "I Got You Babe" - their first big hit - at the end of each episode of their VarietyShow.
* Spoofed in an episode of Series/SpittingImage featuring politicians David Owen and David Steele, singing "Now Is The Time To Say Goodbye" in black-and-white at a piano, after losing the elections.
* Each episode in the second season of Series/TheWubbulousWorldOfDrSeuss ends with "Just Shout Hooray!", a song sung by The Cat in the Hat, telling the viewers to come back next time for more fun with him. In some episodes, the Cat is accompanied by the Little Cats and Terrence [=McBird=].
-->Hooray for us,\
Hooray I say,\
Hooray for all the fun that we have every day,\
And all the new faces and all the new places we see,\
Just you and me!\
So come back soon, and when you do,\
I'll have some new surprises in my hat for you!\
Just one last thing, and then I'm on my way,\
Let's shout hooray!\
Just shout hooray!
* Series/Zoboomafoo uses the song "Animal Friends". It's about how animals are all different yet also similar and how you should "make an animal friend today"
* A non-children's show example, at the end of Series/TheCarolBurnettShow, Carol would come out and sing "I'm So Glad We Had This Time Together".
* Series/MisterKsClubhouse ends each episode with "Simply Amazing", reminding the young viewer that they can achieve anything they put their mind to.
* Series/ThePolkaDotDoor was an unusual case in that the wrap up song would be sung at the end of the week, as the hosts rotated week to week. Every Finding-Out Day will end with the hosts singing goodbye to the toys as they put them away, then to the viewer, saying that they will see them again soon to "laugh and sing and play". The final camera shot seen before the final credits would be the hosts exiting through the large polka dot door.
** And of course, there is a closing variant of the theme song after the credits at the end of every episode:
-->"The Polka Dot Door, the Polka Dot Door\
See you soon at the Polka Dot Door\
for songs and stories and so much more\
Through the Polka Dot Door!"
* Every episode of Series/WhereInTheWorldIsCarmenSandiego ended with Rockapella singing the show's them, which would, of course, result in a DancePartyEnding.
* ended with the Zoomers singing a rap song about the viewers sending their ideas to ZOOM via either email or "Z-mail" aka "snail mail."

* The Theatre/Tsukiuta stage play series, from episode 2 onwards, always end their dance live with the song that the two main month-based idol groups sing together from the end of their first anime season, "Tsuki no Uta". Episode 1 didn't feature this, since it was performed before the anime. Since the second season aired, they've also started wrapping up with the song from the end of that, which is called... "Tsuki no Uta." (They're written differently in Japanese, the earlier one in katakana and the latter in kanji).
** Spinoff series TSUKIPRO the Animation follows four units, and has all four of them sing a song together at the end. However, Solids, Quell, SOARA, and Growth can't use "Dear Dreamer" in their stage plays like "Tsuki no Uta", because they have two separate stage play series. In Theatre/SQS episode 4, Theatre/TsukinoEmpire 2, all of the Soara and Growth members guest-starred, and they did perform "Dear Dreamer". Aside from that, the stage casts of SQS and Tsukista performed Dear Dreamer together in their 2018 concert, and the voice actors of the Vazzrock series have also performed it.

* "WesternAnimation/Abadas" ends with the main characters singing the Goodbye Song to Ben (and by extension, the viewers), hoping to be seen again someday.
* For the late March 31-early April 1 2022 broadcast of Creator/AdultSwim, the sign off reuses the data mosh animation from the January 11-July 3, 2020 period, but with WesternAnimation/Pibby singing a goodbye song that wouldn't be out of place in an educational children's show (which, considering the character's concept, is rather appropriate).
* WesternAnimation/TheBackyardigans ends each episode with a reprise of its opening theme.
** Ditto with its SpiritualSuccessor WesternAnimation/BubbleGuppies
* WesternAnimation/BluesClues closes with "The So Long Song". Joe was introduced in the fifth season and given his own wrap-up song in the sixth season, "The Goodbye Song."
** Naturally, WesternAnimation/BluesCluesAndYou has this too with its own similar version of the So Long Song.
* Like the series it's based off of, WesternAnimation/DanielTigersNeighborhood closes with "It's Such A Good Feeling".
* WesternAnimation/DoraTheExplorer uses "We Did It!" after the characters complete their mission. It features Dora and the others cheering about their accomplishments in episode.
** The spin-off, WesternAnimation/DoraAndFriendsIntoTheCity uses a similar number, "All For One", as Dora and her friends finish their adventure.
** Its SpearCounterpart, WesternAnimation/GoDiegoGo, ends with a melody about the animal featured in the episode.
* WesternAnimation/TheKoalaBrothers: In the 30-minute broadcast version, each half-hour episode ends with "The Helping Song", in which all the characters gather at the Koala Brothers' homestead and sing about always trying to help and care for one another. Buster even speaks out the song's title in the beginning!
* Most episodes of WesternAnimation/Madeline end with a song that mentions how the show is ending:
-->It's time to go, au revoir,\
Though you may shout, "Encore!"\
That's all there is,\
There isn't any more!
* WesternAnimation/LittleEinsteins has the "Curtain Call Song". The song was an instrumental piece in Season 1, and lyrics were added in Season 2.
* WesternAnimation/MickeyMouseClubhouse ends every episode with "The Hot Dog Song" and its dance, as Mickey and the gang celebrate the finished mission before Mickey bids the viewer farewell.
** WesternAnimation/MickeyMouseFunhouse ends each episode with talking playhouse Funny singing the "Wiggle Giggle Song" as the Sensational Six fly off from the Funhouse Forest via the Floaty Coaster.
* WesternAnimation/MuzzyInGondoland ends with one. All main characters say goodbye to Muzzy, and then break the fourth wall and say goodbye to the audience.
* WesternAnimation/NiHaoKaiLan: Though not an ending theme, Kai-Lan sings one last reprise of the episode's moral jingle before proceeding to ThankingTheViewer followed by her SigningOffCatchphrase.
* WesternAnimation/TheOctonauts: Each episode ends with "Creature Report", a marching theme summarizing all the information learned about the creature featured in the episode. However, specials such as the film Octonauts & the Caves of Sea Actun and recent airings on Creator/CBeebiesHowever, the Creature Reports air throughout the day on the channel. drop the Creature Report segment and associated song.
** The show's SpinOff, WesternAnimation/OctonautsAboveAndBeyond, has each episode ending with a similar theme called "Octo-Report".
* WesternAnimation/PAWPatrol: This kind of song plays at the end of every show. It's praising the dogs for doing a good job and saving the day. However, after Season Two, the lyrics were removed and an instrumental plays instead over the final scene. The lyrics:
--> You're all good pups,\
And we saved the day!\
And now it's time to play\
Around Adventure Bay!\
Pa-Pa-Pa-PAW-PAW-PAW-Patrol! (repeated 3 more times)
* WesternAnimation/PibAndPog is a SubvertedKidsShow. After five minutes of escalating violence, it ends with the title characters singing a completely straight Wrap Up Song to the viewers as if nothing out of the ordinary had just happened.
* WesternAnimation/PuppyDogPals has "Happy Booty Dance" as of Season 5.
* Trope with "Do the Mario!" from WesternAnimation/TheSuperMarioBrosSuperShow. While it does contain the lyrics, "It's time to go!", the song is more focused on how to perform the titular dance.
* WesternAnimation/SuperWhy has a Wrap-Up Song with the lyrics "Hip hip hooray! The Super Readers saved the day!"
* WesternAnimation/TeamUmizoomi ends each episode with the "Umi Shake" dance. Starting in Season 2, the dance is shortened with new lyrics, and everyone who appeared in the episode joins in the dance.
* WesternAnimation/Olivia ends every Season 2 episode with the song "Good Night Olivia".
* Starting with Season 8, WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriends ends with the "Engine Roll Call", a song about the eight members of the Steam Team; Thomas, James, Percy, Gordon, Emily, Henry, Edward, and Toby, in that respective order. In Season 22, as part of the changes made for the Big World! Big Adventures! era, the song is given updated lyrics, with Nia and Rebecca taking Edward and Henry's positions.
* WesternAnimation/VeggieTaless song, "What We Have Learned", is a mix of this trope, as well as AndKnowingIsHalfTheBattle, as it recites a relevant passage from the Bible. There's also a RunningGag involving this song which involved Bob becoming annoyed by it whenever it interrupted his speech about today's episode.
