Kim Richards is a [[LetsPlay Let's Player]] and a member of the LetsPlay/{{Yogscast}}. Prior to recording and editing on her own channel, she edited for the flagship Yogscast channel from 2012. She has a background in print journalism for various video gaming magazines, and has also worked for WebVideo/PlayStationAccess both in front of and behind the camera.

Her focus is story-driven or horror based games (the latter frequently while alternating playthroughs with LetsPlay/HannahRutherford, dubbed "Fright Nights"), but she has also had several modded ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' series while partnered with LetsPlay/DuncanJones.

She hosted the ''[=YogNews=]'' series with LetsPlay/{{Strippin}} and later LetsPlay/{{Turpster}} on the [=BlueXephos=] Website/YouTube channel. She also presents a series of video game reviews called Kimpressions and plays Jiǔtóu Zhìjī Jīng in the ''[[WebVideo/HighRollers2016 High Rollers]]'' TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons Campaign organized by Yogscast Community Manager Mark Hulmes.

On November 22, 2016, she [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP2ebx7Oxf0 released a video announcing she would be leaving Youtube as of January 8, 2017]] to focus on Twitch, although she would still make appearances on other peoples' channels, and would upload travel vlogs from time to time. She also stressed that she was not leaving the Yogscast, and would remain a member for the foreseeable future.

She made a brief return to Youtube on July 20, 2018, when she [[https://youtu.be/PliTO9qpnUM posted a vlog]] giving an update on her life, including giving some reasons on why she left Youtube/Twitch (chronic pain problems and the constant hateful messages she would receive), and also that she was engaged and would be getting married in August of that year.

In October of 2019, she made a triumphant return, looking happier and healthier than she had in a long while, and is now uploading videos on a semi-regular basis, as well as streaming (both with the other Yogs and with her husband).

As of 2021, she seems to be back to focusing mainly on Twitch.

Her [=YouTube=] channel can be found [[https://www.youtube.com/user/YogscastKim here]], and her Twitch channel can be found [[https://www.twitch.tv/nanokim here]].

!!Kim Richards provides examples of:

* AffablyEvil: [[spoiler: Her brand new fluxed-up EvilTwin, Specimen 5, is much more laid back than she is, and appears to have a thing for Duncan.]]
* AmbiguouslyBi: In her 2016 Pride Solidarity Stream, [[https://youtu.be/Bh72uPfQWd8?t=1347 she revealed she had previously had relationships with both men and women, although she was still uncertain as to what her sexuality was and how she would label it.]]
** As of late 2018, she has announced on her Instagram that she considers herself to be [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pansexuality pansexual]].
* ArchEnemy:
** Kim has it in for LetsPlay/{{Sjin}} after he betrayed her for LetsPlay/{{Sips}} in her ''[[LetsPlay/TheApprentice Apprentice]]'' series.
** In the Flux Buddies and Cornerstone series, she frequently battled [[LetsPlay/HatFilms Hat Films]]. In the latter series, it was mostly her being a target for bullying, whereas in the former it reached outright war.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: At least in her ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' persona, wherein she nearly ''walks into lava''.
* BerserkButton:
** She sees Sjin online at the start of her and Duncan's Galacticraft series, and starts asking angrily if he remembers the incident at Sipsco from ''LetsPlay/TheApprentice'' series.
** More seriously, homophobia and [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Chinese_sentiment sinophobia]] seem to set her off in real life.
* BreakTheComedian: Can usually be relied upon to supply some much-needed humour and sarcasm in her Let's Plays, especially in the horror games, where the joking clearly serves as a coping mechanism. However, Outlast: Whistleblower proved to be too much for her - more specifically the moment when Eddie Gluskin [[spoiler: transforms male inmates into his brides via a saw table, then tries to do the same to the protagonist]]. As soon as this segment was over, she promptly collapsed onto her desk, forcing Hannah to take centre stage just so they could read Gluskin's dossier. Kim could be heard audibly sobbing throughout the final minutes of the video, and a hiatus was required before she could continue the game or even attempt to joke about anything.
* BrickJoke: During the ''Apprentice'' series she made with Duncan, they were testing a mod that added [[VideoGame/{{Portal}} portal guns]] as a craftable item. As a joke, Kim aims and fires a portal towards the moon, just as she'd seen done in the game... only to discover that [[DevelopersForesight the exact same thing happens.]] Her treasure chest (and half the building) were sucked through the portal. Over a year later, when she and Duncan had moved on to the Galacticraft mod spotlight, Kim is the first to test their rocket to the moon. When she lands, one of the first things she finds is the remains of her building... and everything in the treasure chest just as she left it.
* BigNo: Occurs in Episode 12 of ''[=MineCraft=] UHC Survival! One Life'', [[spoiler:when Caff dies in the nether during their search for netherwort.]]
* ButtMonkey / TheChewToy: Often the butt of jokes in videos.
** The ''[=YogNews=]'' series has a (relatively affectionate) RunningGag about her height (five feet exactly), and her 300,000 subscribers special gets hijacked by Simon [[http://yogscast.wikia.com/wiki/File:Kim-corgi.png forcing her to dress up as a corgi]].
*** Hannah later pokes her about it during one of their Fright Nights, where she reads some instructions telling her to "[[ItMakesSenseInContext take the little one]]", and promptly mutters that that's ''exactly'' what she would do if they got attacked by zombies ([[DontExplainTheJoke the little one in that case being Kim]]).
** In ''LetsPlay/TheApprentice'' series, her time at Sipsco started with LetsPlay/{{Sips}} beating her with a stick, and ended with him blowing her up using TNT.
** Kim was hired by Duncan after landing in his fountain due to the aforementioned TNT incident. Things are all well and good until she falls into Duncan's hilariously unsafe Node Containment Chamber, becoming tainted with Flux in the process. Duncan seals Kim into her tower and then forgets that she's even there for ''100 days''.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "Ohh dear" and "DUNCAN!"
* CloudCuckoolander: Has some definite shades of it. On the 25th January 2014 edition of [=YogNews=], when she heard that that week's RPM spotlight was a channel called Alpacapatrol, she drifted off, wondering what an alpaca on patrol would look like.
* CloudCuckoolandersMinder: Kim has this relationship with Duncan, as his MadScientist tendencies mixed with a short supply of common sense means she has to make sure he doesn't blow them both up.
* TheCorruption: After her character fell into the nuclear sphere at Duncan's Lab, her ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' avatar gets increasingly prominent purple taint stains. Later on her persona seems to change slightly as a result, particular developing an obsession for taint and other purple things when it appears in the modpack, and even feeling more at home in the heavily corrupted ruin of Duncan's castle than she apparently had when it was still intact. The tainted monsters in the castle ignore her at first and go straight for Duncan.
* CunningLinguist: When asked in her Questions and Answers video if she spoke any other languages, she answered quite fluently in several, including French, Spanish, and Japanese.
* DeadpanSnarker: In ''[=YogNews=]'', and also in her collaborations with Hannah (which sometimes turn into SnarkToSnarkCombat).
* DelusionConclusion: In-universe; during her playthrough of ''VideoGame/{{SOMA}}'', Kim was convinced for a long period of time that Simon's journey to the future was a JourneyToTheCenterOfTheMind triggered by the brain damage suffered in the game's prologue. [[spoiler: She ultimately gave up on this idea when it turns out that the player character is actually a copy of Simon's mind uploaded into a robot body decades after the real Simon's death.]]
* TheDitz: Her Minecraft Persona, with added traces of CloudCuckooLander.
* DrinkingGame: Apparantly this one involves [[http://youtu.be/SxRuguJQryg?t=3m how many more times]] ''VideoGame/TheLastOfUs'' is [[TenderTears going to make her cry]].
* ForTheEvulz: Kim becomes... ''rather excited'' at the thought of going into a Crematorium where they are dead bodies with a cannibal on the loose. Hannah is not so excited.
* GenreSavvy: Especially about horror games.
-->'''Kim:''' You'd think, by now, that bioterrorists and mega shady evil corporations would have learned their lesson. After the T-Virus, the G-Virus, the T ''and'' G virus, The C Virus, the X Virus, the Progenitor Virus, the Veronica virus, you'd '''stop making viruses, you evil science wielding charlatans!'''
* GoshDangItToHeck: Was originally one of the few Yogscast members to avoid swearing most of the time - for the most part, she would use family-friendly substitutes and only really started swearing when sufficiently annoyed or panicked (and even then, she did her best to keep it under control). As of 2020, however, she's become quite foul-mouthed even when relaxed.
* HelplessWithLaughter: Kim's playthrough of ''Saints Row IV'' she and and LetsPlay/{{Sjin}} briefly separate to select new costumes from various shops across the simulation. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oItEz6bnhuQ When they meet up again]], Sjin very suddenly appears from behind a corner, revealing to Kim that his [[FatBastard character model]] is now [[FanDisservice dressed in a bra, a g-string, and a luchador mask with a neon pink mohawk]]. Kim ''goes into hysterics'' and doesn't stop laughing for quite some time, during which she can barely control the game; Sjin's remark of "I wanted to look sexy" doesn't help.
* HeroicBSOD: Had one during the ''VideoGame/{{Outlast}}'' DLC when she and Hannah encountered [[http://outlast.wikia.com/wiki/Eddie_Gluskin Eddie Gluskin]] and his [[spoiler:habit of graphically mutilating men in an attempt to turn them into women before inevitably murdering them - ''messily'']]. She actually put her head in her lap and briefly broke down into tears before being able to continue.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Formerly with Hannah, but unfortunately as of 2018 the two have unfollowed each other on all social media, seemingly putting an end to their friendship.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl:
** In ''[=YogNews=]'', LetsPlay/{{Strippin}} absolutely towers over Kim, and the intro shows this by showing them supposedly standing at equal height... then zooms out to show Kim's standing on a massive prop.
** She's like this with LetsPlay/DuncanJones and LetsPlay/HatFilms as well - it helps that she's only 5'0 tall (152 cm).
* KindheartedCatLover: She is the proud owner of a black cat named Milo, and clearly loves him very much.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: She and Duncan come off as this, with Kim in the CoolBigSis role.
** She's like this with [=HatFilms=] as well, but in this case is in the role of younger sister.
* NaiveNewcomer:
** In ''LetsPlay/TheApprentice'' due to having never even played vanilla ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' before. While everyone else was already up to building complicated factories and tree farms in complicated mod packs, Kim was still grasping the absolute basics of crafting.
** She also takes a while to adjust to ''VideoGame/GarrysMod Murder''. In a particularly blatant instance, Duncan exposes her before death, at which point she keeps the knife out and slowly walks past [[LetsPlay/LewisBrindley Lewis]]... failing to firstly put the knife away in time, then failing to realise that he is ''right next to her, and armed with a gun''. She also hadn't sorted out her textures, likely due to her not owning ''Counter-Strike''.
** She and Matt are this in the ''High Rollers'' series (she did play Dungeons & Dragons when she was younger, but has forgotten most of it, since it was a long time ago).
* NiceGirl: Without a doubt, Kim is one of the nicer members of the Yogscast.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Would you believe she's born in 1984?
* PlatonicLifePartners: With LetsPlay/DuncanJones. Kim made sure to point out the "platonic" part repeatedly, since the two collab in many respects now.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Red to Hannah's Blue - which got especially amusing when Kim highlighted her hair red and Hannah highlighted hers blue.
* RunningGag: Quite a few.
** Her inability to play ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' is a frequent joke at her expense, although as she's improved the jokes have been fewer and further between.
** Her obsession with Creator/BenedictCumberbatch, taken to its logical extreme in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7WtdpqJoPk&feature=youtu.be&a this Yogskim Special]].
** Her height gets joked about a bit as well.
** Her editor Matt has taken to depicting the screen cracking whenever she sings.
* TheTeetotaler: Kim used to drink but has since given it up; this is due to her suffering from extreme vomiting and constant headaches if she does. This isn't her drinking too much per say, but rather what happens ''even with a very mild hangover'' due to either allergies or her genes.
* TenderTears: Amongst the few Yogscast members who have cried obviously while playing a game.
* ThrowTheDogABone:
** When LetsPlay/SimonLane got nominated to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Kim got to dunk the bucket on his head.
** As time's gone on, other members of the crew have started to share the role of TheChewToy.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Is the (somewhat) Girly Girl to Hannah's Tomboy.
* TookALevelInBadass: Slowly, surely, she ''is'' getting better in Minecraft.
** Best shown by her PVP videos, where she manages to keep up with the rest of them.
** She becomes the fourth player to land a rocket on the moon, and the first to not die or destroy their rocket doing so. For context, [[spoiler:LetsPlay/SimonLane, LetsPlay/DuncanJones and LetsPlay/LewisBrindley]] ''all'' failed in their attempts, and while the latter may not have destroyed his rocket he did suffocate himself to death.
** In episode 11 of ''[=MineCraft=] UHC Survival! One Life'', she shows how far she's come from The Apprentice - she leads a bunch of her fellow UHCers into the Nether to gather resources needed to progress towards their shared ultimate goal of facing down the Ender Dragon. There are some scary moments and freak outs, in addition to a Mystery Man task performed by Caff...but the end result of the expedition is a mostly-successful run (sans Netherwort), and more importantly ''no'' casualties. [[spoiler:Note - Ultra Hardcore means that if anyone dies, they are booted and banned from the server. The Nether is not a particularly nice place, either.]]
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: In her online media sites she describes herself as the devourer of noodles.
* UnfazedEveryman: Unfazed by the more bizarre antics of the crew.
* VitriolicBestBuds: She and Hat Films really do get on very well, but their banter does get quite salty from time to time.
