A [[LetsPlay Let's Player]] originating from the Website/SomethingAwful forums. Ironically in spite of his
[[TalkativeLoon namesake]] Loon's style tends to emphasize [[BeigeProse brevity]] and [[SpockSpeak dry wit]].
Loon has made a tradition of playing through numerous {{Metroidvania}}s in a collection he refers to as "Draculhour". Adding to this is a seperate collection of playthroughs for various Creator/ParadoxInteractive games.

Each summer Loon partakes in the ''[[VideoGame/FinalFantasyV Final Fantasy Five Four Job Fiesta]]'' and adds a unique gimmick condition to these "Fiesta!" playthroughs.
----
!!A_Raving_Loon's Playthroughs and Streams contain examples of:

[[folder:General]]
* {{Pride}}: "Hubris.mp4" as seen here: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYs_PfvR5wI).
* FlatWhat: VoiceOfDog's response to Cait Sith being name "Crimblshins" in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII''
* HelloInsertNameHere: Used in pretty much any game with nameable characters. To wit the following are but a few examples:
** In ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger'' the characters are named primarily after pronouns or interrogatives, giving us; Who (Chrono), What (Lucca), When (Marle), Thine (Frog), If (Robo), You (Ayla) and Oops (Magus).
** ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI'' sees the characters named primarily after political entities and concepts (Terra becomes "Debt", Locke becomes "Taxes", Sabin becomes "FEMA" and Celes becomes "NATO".
** ''VideoGame/ChronoChross'' sees him resolve to both name and refer to each party member as "Bruse"
** ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII'' involves the joke of using "The correct translation" of the characters' names from [[FutureImperfect an unnamed Norse saga the game was loosely based on]]. This results in such names as "Clude", "Bjorndt", "Tyrfroya" and "Sayid" among others.
* TakeYourTime: Loon doesn't particularly try to rush anything he plays. Sometimes he actively does things as gently or slowly as possible when he sees time prompts just to challenge the notion and see if there's a consequence for waiting long enough.
* TheQuietOne: As stated above, Loon tends to be very reserved with his commentary, even moreso if he doesn't have a guest with him, unless of course something particularly interests him.

[[folder:Paradox Games]]
* AnimalMotifs: The Alimid Empire becomes intimately associated with cobras during his "Banks of Arabia" playthrough of ''VideoGame/CrusaderKingsII''
* BreakoutCharacter: "The Mullosca" race from his most recent playthrough of ''VideoGame/{{Stellaris}}'' were named after a minor summon from ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaDawnOfSorrow''.
* TheAristocrats: Loon's reaction to the increasingly silly and anachronistic state of medieval Europe during his playthrough of the Jade Empire DLC of ''VideoGame/CrusaderKingsII''.
* SitcomArchNemesis: The Moon becomes this as of his playthrough of the Jade Empire DLC of ''VideoGame/CrusaderKingsII'' as [[ItMakesSenseInContext it is the source of all gout and empowers the Byzantine Empire to expand westward to the borders of China]].
* SwarmOfAlienLocusts: More like a swarm of alien bees, but this aptly describes the mindset he applies to running a HiveMind of mothlike aliens in ''VideoGame/{{Stellaris}}'' with his acquaintance M_D_C_T playing as a similar HiveMind species of alien plants.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Draculhour]]
* EnsembleDarkhorse: The summon "Mollusca" becomes this in ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaDawnOfSorrow'' for being a giant doofy slug that just inches across the screen. Suffice to say the creature instantly stole Loon's heart.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Fiesta!]]
* MarathonBoss: The purpose of "Quickfest" was to turn the major bosses of the game into this.[[labelnote:Explanation]]When casting "Quick" on a party member, they will get two turns the next time they move. Until their second turn is taken, no other person on the field can move, but damage-over-time effects like HP Leak or Poison will continue to damage the victim until the caster's turn is over or the victim dies. Shinryu, Omega, and both of Exdeath's forms in his final battle do ''not'' resist Poison. Alltogether, it took Loon nearly ''fifteen hours'' of waiting in order to finish Quickfest.[[/labelnote]]
