Yet the street-smart slimeball genuinely [[PetTheDog takes Pinocchio under his wing]], shows him around, teaches him things--admittedly, not things he should be commended for teaching anyone, but in his own way he's trying to show the kid a good time and introduce him to his world.
18	** Lampwick is also the second to last boy on the island to be transformed--it's certainly not because he's less of a hoodlum than any of the others we see, so it's actually possible that this semi-protective bond led to him "making a jackass out of himself" less quickly, by virtue of there being that tiny grain of selflessness in his [[MoralityPet looking out for Pinocchio]]. Of course, his [[{{Jerkass}} true nature]] wins out in the end, and a few moments of generosity aren't enough to save him.
19	** In a Deleted Scene, Pinocchio and Jiminy try to take Lampwick (who still has his voice at this point) with them when they escape, only to fail when the Coachman's goons nab him. While both NightmareFuel and TearJerker, Lampwick urges them to escape without him; he's already a goner. Whatever else he might've been, Lampwick wasn't about to let Pinocchio share his fate.
20	* Figaro wanting to go with Pinocchio to school is a small moment but heartwarming nonetheless.
21	* As [[TearJerker sad as Pinocchio's apparent death is]], there is one small but sweet moment when Figaro is shown crying over Pinocchio. It shows how much Figaro has grown to like Pinocchio over the course of the film.

23	** Likewise, Jiminy staying with Geppetto and the pets to mourn Pinocchio. He could have easily left once Pinocchio died but his loyalty to his friend makes him be there to be of some comfort somehow towards the grieving family.
24	* In at least a few book adaptations of the film, the Blue Fairy is noted to be [[SoProudOfYou very proud of Pinocchio for his brave sacrifice]] before she brings him back to life as a real boy.
25	* The reunion in the whale, where Geppetto gives Pinocchio a huge hug, Figaro climbs over Geppetto to see Pinocchio, and Cleo jumps for joy in her bowl, while Pinocchio excitedly roll-calls them. Even though they were all stuck inside the whale, they were all overjoyed to see each other again.
