Context Heartwarming / BarRescue

Go To

* Jon Taffer shows that he really wants these owners to succeed and does all he can to get them back on their feet and on their way.
** If an owner shows absolutely no signs of reforming, Jon will pull the staff aside and do everything in his power to make sure ''they'' succeed.
* The letter read aloud to the staff of Jack's Ale House by the mother of the three firefighting brothers that currently own the bar. They are instantly brought to tears and inspired to stop their infighting, to honor their late father's legacy. That unedited letter became the back of the menu for Jack's Fire Department.
* Taffer standing up for his expert in [=ZanZBar=], shows he really looks after the people who help him.
** After this incident, Ami and Jon talk in private, and Ami reveals that he was in a car accident and let other employees run the bar while he was recovering. This decision led to them almost running the bar into the ground and [[FreudianExcuse Ami's issues with others telling him how to run it]]. By having this heart to heart and opening up to Jon like this, Jon is able to help Ami work past this and [[TookALevelInKindness become a better manager]].
%% ** And then "Fat Boy" became a menu item!
*** He actually used Ami for recon in a future rescue, showing they really mended fences.
* Pretty much the entirety of "Hurricane Jon vs. Hurricane Sandy." The Bungalow bar was destroyed during Hurricane Sandy and you could tell that Taffer really was glad to be able to help them get back on their feet.
** Same goes for "Bar Over Troubled Water," when Big Mike's Sports Bar & Grill in Denham Springs, LA suffered through a terrible flood. Special mention goes to Jon personally thanking the bartender who reached out to the show in the first place.
*** Operation Puerto Rico continues this, it was by far the most ambitious and toughest rescue Jon ever did, enlisting the help of rich activists like Mark Cuban and Bethanny Frankel in order to make sure they were able to build Janet and Victor the best bar they could. Their reactions to their new bar say it all. What's more, they didn't just rebuild the bar, they also rebuilt the local community center.
* Jerry cleaning up his act and stepping up to be a commendable partner in "Hostile Takeover". Taffer even tells him to [[EarnYourHappyEnding bask in the appreciation he was given for his performance during the stress test]] [[SoProudOfYou because he deserves it]].
* Even when someone pushes one of his [[BerserkButton Berserk Buttons]], he's almost always willing to forgive them if they shape up and listen to him. This includes the cook from Lona's Wardlow Station, who actually shoved Jon Taffer and nearly got into a fight with him over the state of the kitchen.
* Vivian, one of the bartenders at Pat's Cocktails who has shown herself to have a great attitude and a winning personality, has a panic attack and breaks down during the stress test. Jon goes to comfort her and gives her a YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bok_eR7ubrY pep talk that will make your heart melt.]]
* As much of a trainwreck O-Face was, seeing Syck stand up for Dave when Matt assaulted him by throwing Matt against the building then refusing to throw Dave through the window was refreshing to see someone at the bar had morals.
** Though she is barely seen throughout the episode and therefore it's easy to miss, Vanessa consoling Cerissa after Amanda assaulted her is refreshing as at least she turned out okay despite her parents being immoral degenerates.
* The Wheel House episode in general. The owner was one of the few Jon said wasn't a {{jerkass}}; the crowd which formed outside at the instant of TheReveal was proof of that.
* When Bruno Smoje, the owner of Plush, is told that Calabria is also the home of Nick and Mia's respective families, (a CommonalityConnection of the highest order), he sincerely greets them both by saying, "Welcome to the family!"
* "Spoiled Brat Party" had an owner who had no heart in the business and just turned the place into a party house because he was miserable and didn't have the passion to make it work despite it eating away at his dad's money. When he tells his dad he doesn't want to work in the bar business and wants to reconsider his life. His dad is completely understanding and tells him his happiness means more to him than the money. He ultimately decides to work under his cousin Angelica to repay the debt while he tries to figure out what to do with his life
* "Down And Out In Vegas" had an owner who spiraled into addiction after the death of his stepson causing his bar to fail. Taffer was noticeably easier on him, acknowledging that his failure is from trauma, not arrogance or cluelessness. He even gets him a counselor to help him.
* In "Ice Mice Baby" Taffer found a bartender named Ashley who was actually one of the most talented bartenders he's ever seen and offers her a spot in a future rescue, which she gladly accepts.
* In "Mother Of All Failures," it's revealed the owner personally attended the funerals of 50 customers who died. Her caring nature was a detriment to her business, but her overall backstory speaks volumes of her true character.
* Bridge Lounge is full of this. During the entire episode, Manny's family does nothing but defend him against Garry, and yell at Garry for taking advantage of Manny's grieving. After Manny finally fires Garry, his sister immediately tells him she forgives him for ever trusting Garry, saying she knows he did it because he was mourning and Garry was there. The remainder of the rescue is smooth sailing and not only did they sell off the majority of their dead stock, the place is still open.
* In "Second Base, Third Strike", Jon Taffer wrongly accuses Garry of ruining the previously rescued bar (formerly Extremes), the bartenders immediately jump to his defense and insist it was Terry's fault and Garry has done nothing but work his ass off with his limited resources. By the end, Jon Taffer admits he misjudged Garry and he has a great future ahead of him even if Terry is a lost cause.
* The family's comradery in "Long Live A Legacy". Joe and Raja had a long-time friendship and happily retired, leaving the business to Raja's kids. During their struggles with the business, Joe left retirement to help them. Raja's children have nothing but the highest praise for Joe and say he's not a failure; it's just that he worked as a team with Raja and has trouble working on his own. While Jon is praising the son, [[HumbleHero he defends his sister, saying he's been in the business way longer than she has, which is why he's better than her.]] The other workers even say they love the family, and their failures are shown simply to be due to being trained wrong by the sister, who, as said, is still fairly new herself. The kids even call Joe "Uncle Joe," as he never had kids himself. The family is entirely receptive to all the changes, and Jon clearly enjoyed helping them, as he knew he wasn't dealing with any arrogant owners, lazy staff, or liars; this is just a family having trouble adjusting because the head of the operation died.
* "Gutterball!" has a total HeelFaceTurn, and one of the most blatant examples at that. After recon, Jon goes in like a KnightOfCerebus, calling the owner Mike an asshole and gathering the staff who happily admit the same (and not for nothing, Mike was for sure an asshole). When it's all said and done, Mike lightens up and Jon personally gives him $10,000 so that way the bowling alley can stay afloat long enough until business becomes steady again. They share an embrace that you never would think would come given their first impression. Just goes to show a lot can change in a week.
