%%Moments are sorted by marathon and ordered in chronological order from the first runs of the marathon to the last.
[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:General/Unsorted]]
* The blooper reels. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGerVGjcgPU All]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toBRZpDMDS8 of]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOsiJyeNQAc them]].
* Everything about [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOrA91_xg4M Tri-Hex's 2014 Yoshi's Island run]]. From [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOrA91_xg4M&t=1h12m23s the dreaded fire alarm]] to the cat rescue to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOrA91_xg4M&t=2h36m25s the accordion of shame]].[[note]]Bonus challenges slow down a speed run, that's why.[[/note]]
* Practically every word out of [=RWhiteGoose's=] mouth. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWDRtyq3Yhg "C'MON BABY."]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-8KNxdXLBA UraniumAnchor's 2014 Deus Ex run]], simply because of [[ButtMonkey how much the game utterly trolls him right from the start.]]
* [=Toufool31=]'s "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoXaRPyvJyM&t=20m0s Doo]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoXaRPyvJyM&t=64m22s Doo]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoXaRPyvJyM&t=92m42s Doo]] Crew" while playing ''VideoGame/SuperMarioSunshine'' at SGDQ 2013. This became a tradition in later marathons--sometimes unwillingly.
-->'''[=Toufool31=]:''' ''What'' is going on behind me?
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwkgY6DcHJM The Source engine giveth, the Source engine taketh.]] There's something really funny about Gordon Freeman beating Alyx Vance in the head with boxes.
* The Shakespearean-style recital of "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EBmJZVHOxM&t=20m46s I Want To Be Your Canary]]", the play from ''Final Fantasy IX'' by Puwexil and Spikevegeta along with some of their friends. ''Dramatically so.''
-->'''Spikevegeta:''' What, ho! OUT VERMIN AWAAAAAY! ''(raises the roof)''
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bcwOiesWF4 PJDicesare's Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts run]] is full of close calls and everything going wrong, up to and including ''the game itself trying to fuck up his run'' of trying to use the Torch weapon only. It legitimately tries to sabotage his attempts.
* From AGDQ 2011, Carcinogen [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1awnOnzDzFA#t=1425 gives us a]] RageQuit [[CrossesTheLineTwice for the ages]] during his run of ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil4''.
* From AGDQ 2013's bonus stream, in which ''VideoGame/CrazyBus'' is "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n17xowXNlZ0 played]]". Cue the joke from the bystander asking how one would TAS it.
* From SGDQ 2013, Blueglass [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtjclxiVVlw would like some serious time.]]
* SGDQ 2014 featured a three-way ''VideoGame/MetroidFusion'' race in the incredibly difficult 1% category, which most players can't do at all. After winning, [=JaggerG=] explained the hilarious reason he and kirbymastah had agreed to do it: this was the only way they had a chance of beating [=BioSpark=] in a Fusion race. He's the undisputed master and would have won any% easily, but ''anyone'' can die in 1%. (Indeed, all three runners took at least one death.) Within the race itself, kirbymastah has a funny DamnYouMuscleMemory moment when he tries to start off Sector 4 by going right instead of left.
* The entire ''VideoGame/BattleBlockTheater'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDx1FTQBcMM run in AGDQ 2015]]. The ''whole thing''. It didn't help that the devs contributed to the hilarity. Even the runner [=MechaRichter=] known to be TheStoic can't hold his laughter with some of Will Stamper's shenanigans.
* There was a lone donation read aloud during the ''VideoGame/KaizoMarioWorld'' run in AGDQ 2015. From who? '''LetsPlay/ProtonJon'''.
-->'''Proton Jon:''' "You're crazy. Absolutely crazy. Why would you do this to yourself? I mean, I know you'll clear it but why would you do this to yourself?''
** Also from the same run: the first time the runner, dram55, died to a Muncher, he got a box of little Muncher plushies dumped on him in real life. (A larger version of the plushie was later given away as a prize.)
* Jackafur's accidental PrecisionFStrike when he makes a (thankfully harmless) mistake in ''VideoGame/MischiefMakers'' in the 2015 marathon.
* [[LetsPlay/{{Slowbeef}} slowbeef]] gave a $100 donation during the run of ''VideoGame/TheTownWithNoName'' and left this comment.
--> "I decided to donate equal to the game's budget, but [[TakeThat that seemed cheap so I added an extra zero.]]"
* A lot of donation messages in general.
--> '''Announcer:''' ''[Reading]'' "What do you call a group of people who create impossible questions to perplex people? The ''[[{{Pun}} Prevent Answer]]'' Foundation!" ''[[[{{Beat}} A few seconds of silence, then laughter from the crowd]]]'' ...[[WhoWritesThisCrap Who's filtering these]]?!
** This moment was made even funnier when the [=GDQMonitor=] erased its previous message and responded one simple word.
--> "Me."
* The grand finale to the AGDQ 2015 ''VideoGame/SuperMetroid'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9yRpzVmBQI 100% speedrun race]]. The traditional "Save" vs. "Kill the Animals" donation incentives were neck and neck until [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9yRpzVmBQI&t=1h20m35s one final, whopping donation]] of ''$10,000'' was sent in from an anonymous donor. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9yRpzVmBQI&t=1h25m30s Their message?]]
--> [[MemeticMutation GET REKT. SAVE THE ANIMALS]]
* ''VideoGame/{{Vanquish}}'' One-handed Bromance% [[note]] The runner, halfcoordinated only uses one hand to play due to a disease so he said that he and Vulajin would hold hands if people donated in honor of the bromance between Sam and Burns[[/note]]
* LetsPlay/{{Medibot}}, one of the goons who was responsible for the famous Let's Play of the game ''[[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2006 Sonic 06]]'' and the player of the Avenger Miriam Webster from the web Dungeons and Dragons game, ''LetsPlay/SomethingAwfulDungeonsAndDragons'', has both played and commentated in AGDQ. Given his status as a CloudCuckooLander, this very fact alone makes it hilarious. Highlights include being one of the best ''Yoshi's Cookie'' gamers ''worldwide'', all while talking about owls and cooking, going in dressed as a wizard, and commentating over his hate of sand during the Floating Runner Speedrun.
* Donators occasionally decide to put their money to the 'runner's choice' (or anyone else in the room). Sometimes, the donators decide to put their money to a runner's choice... [[MortonsFork as long as they choose some incentive that is]] [[LogicBomb against the runner's goals]]. An example was a donator giving [=Bonesaw577=] money to put towards killing the animals in the 2013 SGDQ during his ''VideoGame/LuigisMansion'' run, despite him being solidly in the "Save the Animals" camp.
* Durin Stivitybobo's run of ''VideoGame/BanjoKazooie'', he perfectly ran through the infamous blade room in Clanker's Cavern, without using the golden feathers. As he was almost through them, he purposely misses a note, then ''goes through them again without getting hit to get it''.
* SGDQ 2014's ''VideoGame/PaperMarioTheThousandYearDoor'' run, wherein because of a sequence break in getting Bobbery early, Flavio is a party member for the rest of the game as a LivingProp on every single screen no matter how out-of-place. This gets especially hilarious during [[https://youtu.be/wC2gfLuusqo?t=17413 The Moon Launch]] and [[https://youtu.be/wC2gfLuusqo?t=21108 the ending.]]
* Just about anything that came out of [[{{LetsPlay/Pcull44444}} Patty's]] mouth during either his own VideoGame/MalditaCastilla run or as a commentator for VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast [[SequenceBreaking Reverse Boss Order]] run.
* The 2014 Metroid Prime run has several ForgotAboutHisPowers moments, including one where ''someone in the audience'' has to remind Miles (the runner) he has Spider Ball.
* [[https://youtu.be/1nkLoUg-Stc Klaige's run of Super Pitfall]] from AGDQ 2015 is already something special, thanks to the game's [[GuideDangIt cryptic]] and [[ObviousBeta broken]] nature, but the highlight comes at the end of the run. After completing all of the objectives, Klaige repeatedly kills himself on the nearest enemy, getting a game over. The game return to the title screen, starts up the AttractMode... and immediately cuts to the victory screen. Apparently, game overs don't clear the [[EventFlag flag]] for completing everything, and since the game requires you to go back to the beginning of the map to finish it, this is the quickest way to complete the game.
--> '''Klaige:''' So right now, everybody is like, "Who is this awful speedrunner and why is he allowed to touch things?", and you're not wrong. But there's a method to my madness, I swear to you all. So--[[WhamLine oh that's time, by the way.]]
* The [[CringeComedy infamous]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ow1N6lfZp2g Tomba 2]] speedrun mostly due to the horrifically awkward chemistry of Chibi and [=CavemanDCJ=].
--> '''Chibi''': So confirmed Santa's number one helper is a squirrel.\
'''[=CavemanDCJ=]''': [[MemeticMutation I would really prefer if you'd be quiet.]] ''(uncomfortably long pause)'' But yes, you are correct.
* Pretty much all of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpXRe-GyKEk Murphagator's run]] of ''VideoGame/DoubleDragonNeon'' at SGDQ 2013 with the game and commentary, but especially with having one of the devs on the Skype call for the run who has several moments of utter disbelief over how badly the game can be broken.
* Alex Navarro's run of ''VideoGame/BigRigsOverTheRoadRacing'' at AGDQ 2015 builds up some crowd tension during its last minute, despite the only actual challenge being cycling through menus and waiting for the game to load. It's very rare that a GameBreakingBug has caused a room full of people to burst into applause, but that happened to be the runner's goal in this notoriously broken game.
* Any time ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII'' is run, the squatting minigame in Wall Market is accompanied by the audience also doing (the game's version of) squats.
* AGDQ 2015, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJOjzbJY6zU Slurpeeninja's run]] of ''VideoGame/MegaManUnlimited'', which ends with him [[https://youtu.be/qJOjzbJY6zU?t=3342 reading Dr. Light's dialogue]] in the same WesternAnimation/ElmerFudd style of voice as he had in ''VideoGame/MegaMan8'', while LV Creed on commentary plays straight man.
-->'''Slurpeeninja:''' "Phew! I have compweted the wepaiws..."\
'''LV Creed:''' ''(under his breath, [[FacePalm putting his head in his hands]])'' Oh my God...\
...\
'''Slurpeeninja:''' "Someone bwought you back... I don't know who it was, but we should be gwateful, wight? The wowld needs you, Megaman."\
'''LV Creed:''' For the record, I don't condone this.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:SGDQ 2015]]
* The ''Roundabout'' run from SGDQ 2015. The game itself is already pretty silly, but like the AGDQ Battleblock run, they had some of the devs in the call who only contributed to the silliness. Also [[LetsPlay/{{Medibot}} Jeffrey the Skeleton]] was the only person on couch.
%%* ''VideoGame/MetalWolfChaos''. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1iatojomdQ Really, that's all.]]
%%No. Really, that's not all. Administrivia/WeblinksAreNotExamples. What's funny about it?
* During SGDQ 2015's ''VideoGame/IWannaBeTheBoshy'', the runner Witwix said he'd donate $30 for each death and $50 for each boss death with WebVideo/RayNarvaezJr agreeing to match it. Cue Witwix dying multiple times on purpose to raise even more money.
* In SGDQ 2015's ''VideoGame/DonkeyKong64'' run, the run requires that they hand in several blueprints to Snide, resulting in what the couch affectionately calls the "Ooh, banana" marathon, in which donation reading is encouraged. The reader began donations... with a recursive donation. The couch [[VerbalBackspace immediately suggest going back to listening]] to "Ooh, banana" over and over again.
* Several donation comments often bring in some great laughs too. One particular example from SGDQ 2015 is one donator who contributed $500 during ''Super Mario 64'' and promised another $600 if the runners would convince his roommate to get him a beer. A later donation confirmed that he had done so.
* ''VideoGame/BionicCommandoRearmed2'' run by [=PJDiCesare=]. There was an incentive for "Hype Mode" which consists of glitching the game so Nathan would keep screaming and it was made into a bid war during the run to switch between hype mode and turning off the screaming. The totals when the first checked the donations had the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC5iiH7sY5Q&t=20m38s total for hype at $602.]] Silence? ''A penny.''
--> '''Murphagator:''' We may have misjudged this bid war.
** Also this little gem:
---> '''[=spikevegeta=]''': When PJ says he's found a new game he likes, I immediately worry for the safety of that game.
* During the ''VideoGame/TetrisTheGrandMaster'' demonstrations, the staff started to come up with nonsensical estimates due to the players sending the JustForFun/HolyShitQuotient through the roof: "TOO COOL", "OCTODAD", [[VideoGame/SuperMarioWorld "TUBULAR"]], [[StunnedSilence "!!!"]], just to name a few examples.
* Vulajin's ''VideoGame/OriAndTheBlindForest'' run had multiple funny moments. Some highlights:
** When performing the Save Glitch after getting the Wall Jump ability, he [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pTtrFDbPbI&t=11m15s accidentally quits the game]].
** Vulajin explains that the analog stick on the Xbox controller he is using has a small deadzone. Because he makes frequent use of the Bash Glide technique, this often sends him in the wrong direction, such as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pTtrFDbPbI&t=31m30s heading face-first into spikes]].
* The ''VideoGame/DeusExHumanRevolution'' run during SGDQ 2015, though not as good as some others, does have some very entertaining commentary by the runner such as the awesomeness of boxes, questioning the sanity of the guards, and wondering if [[ItMakesSenseInContext pushing himself though the wall of the elevator in the hotel they're playing in would be viable.]]
* During and after the ''VideoGame/MarioAndLuigiSuperstarSaga'' run during SGDQ 2015 they decided to show off some glitches resulting in messed up graphics and other such stuff. As the icing on the cake, the last one completely crashed the game.
* Shenanigans' [[https://youtu.be/wtZ7CzbxBFM Pokedex completion run of Pokemon Blue]] has a few hilarious scenarios arise from its heavy use of inventory underflow[[note]]essentially, it's tricking the game into thinking parts of RAM are inventory items, which can then be manipulated in order to rewrite portions of the game[[/note]]. The setup for the glitch is funny in and of itself, thanks to the runner's BaitAndSwitch commentary.
* [=MuchaKoopas=] does a [[LowLevelRun shovel-only]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY3rhMv5IuI run]] of ''VideoGame/ShovelKnight'' with the devs as his couch commentators. It's fun to watch their simultaneous amusement and horror at the corners Muncha cuts to shave off time and make up for his lack of relics, as Yacht Club Games embraced the speedrunning community but was not prepared for this level of dedication.
** He finishes up with [[https://youtu.be/GY3rhMv5IuI?t=59m30s a comical glitch]] very similar to the 'backwards boss door' glitch in ''Franchise/MegaMan'' where you force yourself back out the boss entry door. Unlike Mega Man, Shovel Knight is able to handle this unintentional glitching. What makes it hilarious is that the devs [[TemptingFate ask if King Knight]] will actually follow him back out, whereupon King Knight [[DynamicEntry lunges in from offscreen and poses]] as if he heard them like the AttentionWhore he is, making the whole couch burst out laughing.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:AGDQ 2016]]
* The ''Paper Mario'' Run of AGDQ 2016 had some funny moments.
** When Bowser defeats Mario during the Prologue, [=GigaD8=] jokingly claims the run is over.
** Whenever Edobean used her Twink voice.
* Halfcoordinated's run of ''VideoGame/TransformersDevastation'', with the escalating {{pun}}s.
* ''VideoGame/BattleBlockTheater'' did not disappoint again for AGDQ 2016, with the reveal of the setup used and the technical difficulties, apart from one ''really'' cringeworthy BlackComedy moment towards the end.
* Noir's ''VideoGame/HalfLife2'' Speedrun at AGDQ 2016, filled with sexual innuendos, cringy and awkward moments and [[ItMakesSenseInContext being trolled by Barney and a bucket near the end]]. Pillow smacking and solving the magic cube were also some of the things that happened during the run.
* During his ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3'' No Wrong Warps run, Mitchflowerpower made the most basic mistake: jump right into the first pirahna plant.
* While the Awful Games block is usually one of the funnier parts of the event with the commentary often making fun of the games and just being silly in general to make up for the games' quality, but with AGDQ 2016, special mention has to go to Keizaron's run of ''Animorphs'' for the Platform/GameBoyColor which was nothing short of a hilarious train wreck as the RNG constantly screws him over to the point where he had to restart the run as they decide to go with it and repeat what they said the first time.[[note]]Props to him clearing Levels 1-3 in 20 minutes when the initial run had him stuck on Level 1 for nearly 23.[[/note]]
** Also the ''VideoGame/{{Lagoon}}'' run is pretty fun, while the game itself isn't too funny, it's technical enough to be entertaining while the runner and couch lambaste all the poor choices the writers made with the story. PJ running it is also helpful.
--> '''PJ''': I wouldn't [risk my remaining health] because I like having fun.
--> '''Couch''': No you don't, you're playing Lagoon.
*** While discussing how Lagoon's story doesn't even line up with the graphics:
---> '''PJ''': You can see [the muddy water] right there.
---> (The water [[WaterIsBlue is a healthy blue]])
---> '''Couch''': That's totally muddy. Just limitations of the Super Nintendo hardware.
---> '''PJ''': [[BlatantLies Yeah, no, we don't have room for brown colors in this game.]]
---> (The game fades in to a screen that is almost entirely different shades of brown)
** Also there's Linkum's ''VideoGame/KingOfKingsTheEarlyYears'' which had some very entertaining donations.
--> '''Host''': [[https://youtu.be/M76g5wyaD-4?t=10m42s Well, FIVE DOLLARS,]] donated FIVE DOLLARS, and their comment is [[MundaneMadeAwesome FIVE DOLLARRRSSSSS!!]]
*** And that donation then proceeded to start a game of one upping.
---> '''Host''': [[MundaneMadeAwesome WELL FIVE DOLLARS AND ONE CENT, donated FIVE DOLLARS AND ONCE CENT, and their comment is FIVE DOLLARS AND ONE CENT! Had to one up the other guy]]
---> '''Linkums''': Man, Five Dollars needs to get on their game.
* During the ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' glitch exhibition at AGDQ 2016, Shenanagans shows off a glitch that allows the player to get on the S.S Anne multiple times, and while he's in the area decides to show that [[UrbanLegendOfZelda using Strength under the truck]] doesn't allow the player to find Mew...except it ''does'', thanks to Arbitrary Code Execution done beforehand by injecting a hacked save onto the cartridge.[[labelnote:explanation]]Turns out saving the game records a lot of in-game state, including the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Function_pointer function pointers]] to code that handles in-game events, a major no-no in computer security. A hacked save can change these to point to code within the save itself, giving the attacker complete control over the gameboy.[[/labelnote]]
* The TAS block of AGDQ 2016, basically being engineered runs, is very, very funny almost all the way through, but there are a few highlights.
** In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRc5RH4tR1E the Brain Age section]]:
*** A part where Tasbot fakes a long loading screen complete with progress bar, then pretends to gain sentience.
*** "7-4=3? Half Life 3 confirmed!" followed by a caricature of Gabe Newell.
*** For one question, Tasbot streams the Twitch chat into Brain Age so it can ask them for the answer. Thanks to stream lag, the results are totally irrelevant and full of memes anyway. Tasbot's comment?
---> '''Tasbot:''' [[DeadpanSnarker Twitch chat. Helpful as always.]]
** In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM8Z9e-WoFs the Super Mario 3 portion]], they program in color-a-dinosaur, give Mario a [[Franchise/{{Metroid}} shinespark]], let him choose from various powerups on the fly, play with the scrolling on the 8-1 tank level, [[VideoGame/{{VVVVVV}} reverse gravity and walk on the ceiling]] through Bowser's castle, change Princess Peach's message to parody the old "cheating" accusation against TAS runs, then actually let someone play the edited game.
** In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMtP6QRrFRk the Super Mario World portion]], they input extra code to turn it into VideoGame/SuperMarioMaker. Then they let Twitch chat have a run at it. The chat ends up ''destroying'' the game without causing it to crash, and they even change the title of the stream to "Twitch Beaks Mario" and in the area where it says the year the game was produced, it instead says "[[FlatWhat Wat]]". After they start wrapping up, "Wat" changes to "This has never happened before"
* The Super Metroid run in AGDQ 2016 received a donation that is a CallBack to the memetic ending of the animals bid war in AGDQ 2015. [[note]](At that time, "Kill the Animals" was solidly in the lead, though, making the donation ultimately unnecessary.)[[/note]]
--> GET REKT, ANIMALS.
* During the ''Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz'' run, Miles requests that his favorite monkey be referred to as Baby instead of "the baby", because the latter [[VideoGame/MetroidOtherM brought back horrible memories]].
* ZFG's ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime: Master Quest'' run was one of the most entertaining Zelda runs at any GDQ. It was marred, however, by one accidental death... to ''Morpha''. '''[[BreatherBoss Morpha!]]''' ("I guess that's my never-happened-before...")
** Since then, it's been made clear in every subsequent GDQ ''Ocarina'' run (by ZFG or not) that he is ''never'' going to live this down.
* The finale to ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask'' 100% run was a blindfolded four-players-one-controller against Majora. When the players put their blindfolds on... they promptly lost track of the controller.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:SGDQ 2016]]
* During her ''VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBros2'' run, [=EeveeSpirit=] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3iWD8qxKt8 had her 3DS battery run out]] in the middle of the final level, so people had to scramble to find a charger for her since she didn't have her own. While she did have the foresight to safety-save ahead of time and only had to redo the final couple of levels, plenty of donation comments were offering to buy her a new charger.
* The end of the ''Goonies II'' run at SGDQ 2016 has one of the couch commentators give runner Dragondarch a SNES cart. Dragondarch's response:
-->'''Dragondarch:''' ''(in an OhCrap tone)'' You have cursed the entire marathon. It is going to die.
** Said cart was a copy of ''VideoGame/{{Drakkhen}}'', a replacement for Dragondarch's own copy that gave a [[EpicFail particular performance]] at [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIt8QIl86Us RPG Limit Break]] earlier that year, consequently breaking (in his own words): two [=TVs=], a controller, and then ''itself''. In reality, they thought the original SNES was making the game mess up, so they switched to [=MetaSigma=]'s "Candy SNES" (which had crushed Smarties in it)...only to have it still mess up. Then they tried cleaning the cart and it ''still'' messed up. They ended up killing the original run and had to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoUrS2aivAc redo the run the next day]] from where the original run failed at with another cartridge, with Dragondarch saying before the run starts that he was using [=MetaSigma=]'s controller for the off-stream setup and the R-button ended up dying. By the time it was finished, they jokingly said that the [=TVs=] and maybe the SNES equipment the runs were done with were likely not long for the world.
*** Even funnier, once it was revealed to be ''Drakkhen'', there was a BigNo from the audience.
* The ''VideoGame/{{Bioshock}}'' run for SDGQ 2016 got interrupted by a (fake) [[https://youtu.be/2gnnweoN76Q?t=2619 Windows 10 update]]!
-->'''Blood_Thunder''': That's not good...
* During ''VideoGame/JetSetRadio'' occasional references are made to glitches that can occur, including this gem:
-->'''Maxylobes:''' I do apologize if the game crashes here [[TemptingFate because that happens]]. ''([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXLqSevcvmw&t=6m33s game crashes immediately]])''
* During the blindfolded [[VideoGame/CastlevaniaSymphonyOfTheNight Symphony of the Night]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clBZaz2Dryc run]], the runner ran into a serious problem in the library section during an attempt at an [[GoodBadBugs item duplication glitch]]. He got all the prerequisite materials and proceeded to the shop... but partway into his menuing he realized he [[OhCrap hadn't actually activated the glitch somehow]]. He spent nearly a solid 15 minutes attempting to get the menus all in order, resetting multiple times and was completely baffled the entirety of the time. Turns out the button on his controller he was using to navigate menus [[DidntSeeThatComing just happened to die right at that particular moment]].
** [[MindScrew Only for it to activate the map out of the menu perfectly fine.]] Somehow he glitched the game to make the quick swap on the menus stop working and only that, baffling him and everyone else altogether.
* Occasionally, when a ''Symphony Of The Night'' race finishes and the game's credits roll, the runners will both sing the SolemnEndingTheme, "I Am The Wind." This often results in a few noteworthy laughs such as [=SGDQ2014=], where [[https://youtu.be/3capy9qBRvI?t=2639 Dacidbro lampshades his loss]] with the lyrics.
-->'''Dacidbro:''' ''Through thick and thin... I always win...'' Not today.
** [[https://youtu.be/o2hGi8kwsfs?t=2949 This happened again]] in [=SGDQ2015=]. This time, the audience can be seen giving a RaisedLighterTribute and [[FunnyBackgroundEvent waving their arms left and right in the background]]
* [=Bonesaw577=]'s epic fall into insanity during his ''VideoGame/JakAndDaxter'' run at SGDQ 2016. Between Bonesaw, [[LetsPlay/Pcull44444 Patty's]] commentary, mistakes, celebrity impersonations, random clapping, trolling, crashing the game, and the [[FunnyBackgroundEvent funny sign]] antics coming from the staff, it was "a great ab workout" according to the donation reader due to the sheer, occasionally inappropriate comedy.
-->'''Patty:''' So what's the over-under on half of us never being allowed back to a GDQ?
** ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RylQGkoZpSE&t=1h22m11s Speaking of donations]]''...
--->$5 from Jeb Bush. "Please clap."
--->(cue the couch breaking down in laughter)
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RylQGkoZpSE&t=1h07m10s At one point]], Patty asks for more donations to be read ([[OOCIsSeriousBusiness out of desperation]]), only for that to be impeded by the donation guy being ''unable to speak'' due to laughter.
** The BrickJoke set up at the beginning of the run with, "We did it! We found the [[{{Pun}} khakis/car keys]]!" upon finding the final fragment.
* The ''VideoGame/{{Pepsiman}}'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C33Xo1hE9XE playthrough]] at SGDQ 2016, complete with a Pepsiman cosplayer on the couch. This run made Pepsiman trend on Twitter, temporarily made it the most viewed game on Twitch, and '''septupled''' the amount of Twitter followers Mike Butters (the man in the live-action cutscenes) had.
* This small bit from the ''VideoGame/KirbyAndTheAmazingMirror'' playthrough.
--> Yeah, we're the only ones who run it two player, I think we got world record.
* During the interview with the ''VideoGame/SuperMetroid'' winner, another worker sat at the table and remained locked in an [[http://i.imgur.com/N1St1kU.png expression of total shock]] over the outcome of the race for the entire interview.
* Near the end of ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3'', one of the couch commentators insists that the entire game is just ''a propaganda play made by the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom and the Kings of the other various Kingdoms (including '''Bowser''') to discredit the entire Koopa race.'' It gets even better; the reason the 'play' is performed is so that the citizens of the Kingdoms don't make a stink about the ''economic inequality'' inherit in the Kingdoms where the royals live in big, fancy houses and the people literally live in mushrooms. Whenever the people start to get up in arms, the Princess is kidnapped to distract the populace from their unfair treatment.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJxXBDJhyEw&t=54m44s The incredible discovery]] of a ''brand new glitch'' during tripl3ag3nt ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2006'' run.
--> [[RunningGag That's never happened before!]]
* One from the official Twitter account during usedpizza's ''VideoGame/MegaMan9'' run: "Tech is looking into screen issues. That's what happens when the pizza isn't new."[[note]]Don't get it? Look at the runner's name again.[[/note]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:AGDQ 2017]]
* During the ''VideoGame/BlasterMaster'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5Hq2eASg74 race]], [=Skavenger216=] entered the Area 2 boss room only to find the necessary item already there without having to fight the boss itself and putting him back on par with [=ShiningDragoon=]. Since it happened entirely by accident, it elicited a very appropriate, "This has never happened before!" [=Skavenger216=] just shrugs and keeps going.
* When [=Joester98=] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6asO4MN_Nk fought the final boss]] of ''VideoGame/PacManWorld'', a combination of the boss's positioning and a ghost right in front of it caused Pac-Man to hilariously get flung out of the arena. Of course it had never happened before.
* Greenzsaber's ''VideoGame/MightyNo9'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBGO9dQAdPM run]], mainly for his friends holding up signs saying [[LargeHam "Sprinter!", "Good!", "Quick Clear!"]], etc. and the runner's general excitability [[note]](especially for playing [[BrokenBase such a controversial game]])[[/note]].
-->'''Greenzsaber''' ''[during a cutscene where a character is confused]'': "WHY AM I RUNNING THIS GAME!?"
-->''[fighting the final boss]'': "This is just an exercise in counting, so let's go. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, [[CarefulWithThatAxe AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!]]"
-->"Anime fans, don't pay attention to that trailer; if you try hard enough, you can definitely get a date."
* During the ''VideoGame/DarkSouls3'' run, the bonfire lit message was changed to "IT'S LIT FAM" and the death message was changed to "READ DONATIONS". Additionally, the runner Bubblesdelfuego started talking about how there was [[TemptingFate a possibility that the game would just randomly crash during a lengthy out-of-bounds sequence]]... five seconds later, it crashed.
* In [[https://youtu.be/kOunTCq1sVY?t=21m24s the final stretch of the Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels three-way race]], andrewg was solidly in the lead and basically had the race won, so he decided to show off a bit and use a glitch that essentially lets him walk between walls and come out on the other side... [[EpicFail But he ends up jumping a bit ''too'' high and gets stuck in the ceiling until the timer runs out, basically soft-locking the game and giving Kosmicd12 the win]].
* blood_thunder's trend of FMV trolling continues in his ''VideoGame/Doom2016'' run, replacing the opening titles after the elevator scene with the ones from [[{{Film/Doom}} the movie]].
* Because of glitches resulting in having a third character/follower while unintended by the game, the ''VideoGame/PaperMarioTheThousandYearDoor'' run featured some hilarious moments like Professor Frankly joining Bowser, and being stuck behind a door as the other characters move offscreen; and Flavio in space or falling into the water repeatedly. Adding to the hilarity is the audience cheering each time these characters appear in ridiculous situations.
** During Chapter 2, a glitch involving restarting an escape sequence causes a time bomb ticking sound to persist, causing the donation comments to either descend into various levels of insanity, beg to stop the ticking, or deny that there's a ticking sound going on. In addition, prior to the glitch taking place, a donation comment stated that one of the runners' controllers was rigged to produce a ticking sound instead of the game.
-->"Ticking? What ticking?"
* Much of the earlier sections in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6LypnJJc3k Shockwve and Amyrlinn's co-op speedrun]] of ''VideoGame/Borderlands2'' [[MotorMouth goes by really quickly]] due to the two having to explain all the [[GoodBadBugs crazy exploits]] and tech they're doing, which leads to this moment at [[WarmUpBoss the first boss, Knuckledragger]]:
-->'''Shackwve''': He's actually a pretty complicated boss for the first fight; [[MotorMouth he has three phases, the first one he's gonna charge me and he's gonna try to do some damage, after a bit of health he's gonna go and hide like a little baby and then we have to fight his minions then he'll come down for the final fight, so the way that you have to do it is I have to make the headshot and manipulate his position so I can actually hit him in the head]] ''[[BaitAndSwitch just kidding!]]'' [[AntiClimax One shot, he's dead.]]
** After reaching a donation incentive, [[https://youtu.be/t6LypnJJc3k?t=5121 they encounter Face McShooty]], [[MemeticBadass leading into the hardest mission in the game]].
* During the VideoGame/{{Undertale}} run, [=TGH=] and his commentators act like Papyrus' electric maze[[note]]where he marks out the path for you[[/note]] and crossword[[note]]where you can just walk past it[[/note]] traps are the hardest parts of the run.
** Later on, during the Papyrus fight, they act as if [=TGH=] losing to Papyrus constantly is because of how bad he is at the game, with it being asked at one point if he actually ''practiced''.
--->'''[=TGH=]''': ''Shut up!''
*** And then, come the fourth "attempt", [=TGH=] decides upon a new tactic: [[CuttingTheKnot flat out refusing to fight Papyrus]].
** During the TrueFinalBoss, it suddenly occurs to the couch that "but it refused" is a pun on the player's SOUL putting itself back together. Everdraed, one of the contributors of the game, is actually taken aback by this realization, and [[https://www.reddit.com/r/Undertale/comments/5o2m0h/refused_is_a_pun/ the top post]] on the game's subreddit immediately afterwards was a shocked announcement for the people who weren't watching the stream.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:SGDQ 2017]]
* During the ''VideoGame/IAmBread'' run, a series of unfortunate incidents causes the run to go overtime. Once this happens, the estimation time goes from "15:00" to [[ShapedLikeItself "Bread"]].
** Also during the run, a loaf of bread (complete with headphones) is sitting on the couch.
--->'''Blood_Thunder''': Also on the couch is my girl Sara Lee.\
'''(audience laughs)'''
* Deciding that it was kind of boring to watch the [[ShootEmUp Gummi Ship missions]] since they're not very speedrunnable, the staff and couch participated in singalongs ''[[CallBack again]]'' to various famous Disney songs during these 'downtimes' on the ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'' run.
* Vulajin's reaction to a pun-filled comment early in the ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger'' run is a full on FacePalm and a groan that almost screams DespairEventHorizon as the puns just keep coming and he laments, "Ugh... he's ''still'' going..." and is far better than the comment itself.
* During the ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaLinksAwakening'' run, the reason why the runners keep Bow-Wow the Chain Chomp with them for the whole game (you're only supposed to use her for one obstacle) takes ExtremeOmnivore to MindScrew levels: due to the way the game treats cutscenes as objects on the field, Bow-Wow lets you skip them by ''eating the cutscene itself''.
* During the ''VideoGame/SuperMetroid'' segment, both Overfiendvip and Oatsngoats got wiped out just over twelve minutes into a Low% Ice Race by a rather aggressive Phantoon. Patty and the couch had a ball with this one as Zoast carried on for a solo run. Later on, someone donated under Phantoon's name, saying he was sorry for ruining the race, and to [[CrossesTheLineTwice put the money towards saving the animals to make things worse]].
** And then the Hyper Beam scene occurs and as Zoast is blasting Mother Brain in the face after minutes' worth of avoiding damage to not inevitably die:
---> '''Patty:''' ''Taste the rainbow.''
** After the run was over, when it was briefly still displayed in the "Up Next" box, the listing for it instead read "Any% Ice- zoast, zoast & zoast".
* During the ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII'' run, when they reach the part where [[ItWasHisSled Aeris dies]], [=SpikeVegeta=] can be heard yelling a drawn out [[BigWhy "WHY?!"]] from the crowd.
** During the Squats minigame in Wall Market, the audience gets to participate. In a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, one guy messes up the squat, complete with head scratching animation.
* The ''[[VideoGame/SuperMarioWorld Super Panga World]]'' run by [=DoDeChehedron=] began with [=CarlSagan42=] of the couch pledging $10 per pun from the couch or from the donations. [[HurricaneOfPuns This does not slow them down one jot.]]
-->'''[=CarlSagan42=]''': Dode, I know there isn't ''mush''-room for error in this run... ''([[LamePunReaction audience audibly laughs and groans]])''--alright, that's $20!\
'''Grand [=POOBear=]''': ''(laughing)'' Why am I friends with you?
** After a boss fight with [[ItMakesSenseInContext Pepsi-recolored Reznors]]:
--->'''[=CarlSagan42=]''': Yo Dode, that was--\
'''Grand [=POOBear=]''': [[ThisIsGonnaSuck Oh my god, no, no! No! NO!]]\
'''[=CarlSagan42=]''': --that was some ''tricera-top notch'' gameplay! ''(audience boos)'' No! You can boo me, but [[WorldOfPun Boos are in the game]], [[InsultBackfire you're just making another pun!]]
** At one point, a donation comes up, and [[StraightMan POOBear gets fed up]]:
--->'''Announcer''': We've got $100 from Jay Gelvar: "Carl, I'm donating ''pun-hundred'' dollars just for you!"\
'''Grand [=POOBear=]''': That doesn't work, that's not a pun! That's just replacing "one" with "pun!"\
'''[=CarlSagan42=]''': [[TheGadfly It was pun-derful]], I don't know what you're talking about.
** 30 minutes into the run and nearing the ending:
--->'''Announcer:''' I got word that "Super Panga World" is trending worldwide on Twitter.”\
'''[=CarlSagan42=]:''' Is that Super Panga World or Super ''Punga'' World?”
** Freaking out over the invisible floor in the "Dolphin Hideout" level and acting like it was a glitch.
* Blackbeltginganinja's "glitchless" run of ''VideoGame/MirrorsEdge'' getting ruined by the guy on the couch constantly mocking him for using minor glitches during the run. Also doubles as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fsu4miYMWo cringe]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:HRDQ]]
* During the ''Undertale'' race, the Twitch chat could hear the players mashing certain keys on their keyboards--so the chat naturally spammed keyboard-mashed gibberish every time the players mashed their own.
* HRDQ had a 6-hour Chrono Trigger run on Saturday night. Though some were quick to complain, the run was extremely funny thanks to the chemistry between the runner and his virtual couch, and thanks to the person in charge of the marathon overlay beginning to add Chrono Trigger sprites to it about halfway through the run. The piece of art that resulted should be in a museum.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:AGDQ 2018]]
* During the pre-show, [=JHobz=] is one of the team at the booth talking about the upcoming runs. He then announces Blechy is doing an interview next with the first runner, and there's a [[DramaticPause Pregnant Pause]] before [=ProtoMagicalGirl=] reminds him that '''''he''''' is the first runner, and he abruptly runs out of the booth area to get to the interview he just announced!
** It then cuts abruptly to [=SpikeVegeta=] playing a very dubious game of Uno with [=ProtoMagicalGirl=], involving cheating with a Pot Of Greed card, shortly after, a very crudely drawn "We'll Be Right Back" card is pushed in front of the camera as they wait for [=JHobz=] to get back.
* During the ''VideoGame/InfamousFirstLight'' run, the Twitch stream cuts out, and the test card says, in typical AGDQ fashion, [[RunningGag This Has Never Happened Before]].
* ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamAsylum'': The runner makes several [[Memes/TheDarkKnightTrilogy Baneposting]] references during the Bane boss fight, specifically calling him a "big guy" and saying that pulling the tubes from his back must be "extremely painful".
* [[https://youtu.be/zN6Cl-kE8dE The run of]] ''VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim'' was already pretty funny on purpose, with the runner using a horse-tilting exploit that allowed the character to speed across the landscape so quickly that the game engine sometimes couldn't keep up, all with a ridiculous-looking super-fast running animation. The whole run went off the rails, however, during the first Alduin fight, where, due to some bad RNG, the level 1 character got hit with two Frost Breaths, bringing their health down to a sliver, after which the runner made a ''quicksave''. The next few minutes were spent with the character trying to hide behind rocks to slowly regenerate health, only for Alduin to breathe Frost through the cliff face to find them again and again, until they give up and ''enable the God Mode cheat'' just to save the run.
* Carcinogen's run of ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil7Biohazard'' on [[HarderThanHard Madhouse difficulty]] (with a fresh file!) is as hilarious as it is awesome, as he manages to come in ten seconds under estimate despite the game trolling him every step of the way. The funniest section is during Mia's {{Flashback}}, where Carcinogen gets [[https://youtu.be/qcpeugvrFx8?t=1h44m11s an unexpected visit]] from a [[SuperpoweredMooks Molded]] who's normally not supposed to spawn in that part of the level. He has Mia close the door and hide, hoping this will make the Molded [[EverythingFades despawn]]. Then the game decides to screw with him - the combat music cuts out, making Carcinogen think that the Molded has despawned, but it's [[JumpScare waiting for Mia and ready to attack as she opens the door.]]
** Crossing over with SugarWiki/AwesomeMoments, Carcinogen manages to escape without dying.
** A mild RunningGag: While trudging through a basement 5 minutes in, Carci points out that [[ArtisticLicenseGeography real houses in Louisiana don't have basements]]. Ten minutes later, a donator named "Louisiana Guy" comes in with $10 to relay that [[ShownTheirWork he's indeed correct]], then challenges him to give another Louisiana fact for another $5. Later, Carci points out the centipedes in one scene appear to be [[MisplacedWildlife Japanese mukade]] rather than the redheaded centipedes native to the area, and sure enough, ten minutes later, Louisiana Guy appears again to also confirm it, additionally adding that [[{{Squick}} they taste great in gumbo]].
** Several moments of "downtime" where the announcer, Aprilcake, reads off donations during unskippable cutscenes are made much funnier by the fact that... well, it's ''[[NightmareFuel Resident Evil 7]]''. In particular, she gets audibly {{Squick}}ed out during [[{{Fingore}} Lucas' VHS message]] and Alan's [[NauseaFuel death scene]], reading donations as if she's trying her best to [[ChangeTheUncomfortableSubject distract the audience]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u320GZ-_B8 [=SuccinctAndPunchy's=] run of]] ''VideoGame/SilentHill1'' happened in the middle of the night, and at one point, he and the couch have this amusing digression:
-->'''Punchy''': I downed like 5 pints of Coke before this run. [[ThatCameOutWrong Like, cola.]]\
'''Techie''': Welcome to America. ''(crowd laughs)''\
'''Plywood''': You need a bucket or something? Like a barrel?\
'''Punchy''': Dude, everywhere I go to has free refills, it's not like that in the UK, it's amazing! I'm enjoying it so much!\
'''Maxylobes''': I saw you [[BigEater eating a red velvet cake the other day]].\
'''Punchy''': I know! I went to IHOP the other day and they just had a whole cake as a meal -- I got halfway through it before I realized "I'm just eating a whole cake as a meal, this is amazing." This country's fascinating!
* "So what [[VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite2 Ghetsis]] ''really'' needed... was an [[GameBreaker Excadrill.]]"
** [[HelloInsertNameHere The player name]] is "Oh no, I". This leads to instant hilarity when getting items and sending out Pokemon.
* One of the prizes in the giveaway is an Atari 2600 with a copy of ''Dragster'' signed by Darbian. The minimum bid to get it? $5.57. [[labelnote:Explanation]]Dragster is known for controversy surrounding a supposed world record time of 5.51 seconds. The best time anyone has ever gotten either in real time or by TAS --and has been proven to be ''the mathematically proven lowest time possible''-- is 5.57. Darbian was the first human to get the time of 5.57 on a console.[[/labelnote]]
* The Awful Games block was mostly side splitting, but highlights include the [=ThaRixer=]'s ''VideoGame/DogsLife'' run where a skip through the groomer's was failed at least 10 times (it usually takes 3 at most) leading to an [[OverlyLongGag unskippable 20 second cutscene every time]], and self declared "King of the MercyKill run" Keizarion getting a "[[RunningGag never happened before]]" glitch through a platform on the last level of ''Animorphs: Shattered Reality'', causing him just enough time loss to [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption come in slightly over estimate]].
** Throughout the ''VideoGame/DogsLife'' run, [=ThaRixer=] and the rest of the couch call to attention that in Europe, the game was rated 3+. [[WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids The reminders are very well-deserved]], especially once they get to [[FamilyUnfriendlyDeath Miss Peaches' death scene at the end]].
--->'''The Big Machine''': [[PunctuatedForEmphasis Miss Peaches... is...]] [[KarmicDeath cat food.]]\
'''[=ThaRixer=]''': And she's dead! ''([[CrossesTheLineTwice audience applauds wildly]])''\
'''Punchy''': I can't believe Miss Peaches is dead!\
'''[=joester98=]''': [[WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids Three-plus]]!\
'''[=ThaRixer=]''': [[RefugeInAudacity Three-plus]]!
** However, possibly the favorite run of the block was obscure 2001 PC game [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gosSNHRPWZA "Arabian Nights" by Kotti]], featuring such gems as [[GoodBadBugs receiving an item on the current stage every time the protagonist hits the skybox]], baffling voice clips and animal sounds being played at inappropriate times, various body parts disappearing as the protagonist goes out of bounds, killing the sultan's [[EvilChancellor vizier]] while a princess espouses on the protagonist's "good heart", [[MarryThemAll marrying five princesses across the course of the game]], and ending on [[https://i.imgur.com/WxH0CUO.jpg this triumphant shot of the protagonist,]] leaving much of the audience and ''especially'' the couch members [[{{Corpsing}} on the verge of hysterics]]. Needless to say, [[https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/arabian_nights people were left clamoring for a rerelease of the game]] on [[Platform/GOGDotCom GOG]] ([[https://www.gog.com/game/arabian_nights which it finally did by December 2019!]])
*** At one point, Kotti somehow runs into severe lag and has to restart the game. However, when the game restarts, it insists on starting in fullscreen (the run up to that point was windowed, so the stream was now only showing a quarter of the game screen). They have to pause the timer and call in the tech crew to fix the stream, but when Kotti resumes the run:
----> [[ShaggyDogStory "Is it gonna go back to windowed?"]]\
''(it does, the timer pauses for laughter)''
*** During the run, there's a bidding war between the next blind speedrunner for ''VideoGame/EnviroBear2000'', initially leaning towards authorblues, but eventually being overtaken with Brossentia (who's on the couch), [[ThisIsGonnaSuck much to his dismay]]. He ends up with a $1000+ lead, and once the ''Arabian Nights'' run ends:
--->'''Announcer''': Also, Brossentia, [[FalseReassurance good news]]! [[FromBadToWorse You're]] ''[[FromBadToWorse more]]'' [[FromBadToWorse in the lead]]!
** Much of Keizaron's ''Animorphs'' run is a riot, primarily thanks to the banter between the couch (most especially [=CavemanDCJ=]) [[VitriolicBestBuds heckling him the entire way through]]. 13 minutes into the run and listening to some donations, however:
--->'''LLK''': We have a $10 donation from Dax: "I woke up super-early to watch Animorphs specifically."\
'''Keizaron''': [[YouFool You fool.]]\
''(everyone bursts out laughing)''\
'''LLK''': "Congrats to Keizaron[...]Hello to him and the rest of the awesome couch!"\
'''[=CavemanDCJ=]''': Dude, Keiz, you wanna know something really horrible? [[FeeFiFauxPas That's my girlfriend]].\
''(everyone starts laughing even harder)''\
'''Keizaron''': [[OpenMouthInsertFoot Uh...]]\
'''[=CavemanDCJ=]''': Hi honey! Sorry about this.\
'''Keizaron''': There's a flagpole outside I think if you wanna meet there after this.
*** During the same run, we get this epic piece of BitingTheHandHumor courtesy of Caveman:
--->'''[=CavemanDCJ=]''': Just in case people are falling asleep or anything from this game, we actually have Mike Uyama [[SelfDeprecation to ban both me and Keizaron on the spot if this run goes bad]]. So... [[StopHavingFunGuys we're trying our best not to have any fun]]. ''(everyone, Mike included, burst out laughing)''\
'''Mike''': [[LampshadeHanging Ooh, I'm seeing]] [[TWordEuphemism some F-word]] [[GoshDangItToHeck right there]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8DWMobJp4Q authorblues' run on]] ''VideoGame/{{Titenic}}'' features Brossentia's goofy narration voice over the game's [[BlindIdiotTranslation questionably-translated text scenes]] (which tell you the entire plot of [[Film/Titanic1997 the movie]] while gameplay is just Jack or Rose running around beating up random animals and staff members who probably shouldn't be attacking their passengers), and a surprise GagCensor over Rose's [[VisualPun puppies]].
* Brossentia and [=DragonDarch=] sit down to do an ''VideoGame/{{Athena}}'' run. After introducing the game, getting the crowd hyped, and pointing out that there's [[UnwinnableByMistake no guarantee that they'll be able to finish the game due to bugs]], they count down, start the race, and [=DragonDarch=] immediately cracks and laughs about how much he hates the game.
* Sent embracing his MemeticMutation status by randomly appearing at the end of interview segments to plug the latest merchandise giveaways--sometimes embellished by a SoBadItsGood screen transition.
** [=SpikeVegeta=] attempts to mimic him late in the marathon, but can't get the [[Franchise/DragonBall Instant Transmission]] off.
* heyZeusHeresToast's run of ''VideoGame/{{Bloodborne}}'' is this in its entirety thanks to Zeus's commentary, which includes getting the entire audience incredibly excited over [[MundaneMadeAwesome a succession of ladders]] (to the point of somebody in the crowd [[https://youtu.be/6a8bc-V6seo?t=6791 chanting "LADDER! LADDER! LADDER!]]).
* In the middle of PJ's ''VideoGame/{{Battletoads}}'' arcade run, [[https://youtu.be/Oqp8CfsVVtM?t=20m20s his attack button breaks]]. Any other runner would get nothing but sympathy for this. PJ? Mid-run disasters are such a constant for him that everyone -- couch crew, announcer, even donators -- just ''rides'' him for it. Relentlessly!
** PJ has a little panic attack when his button fails, and that's not the [[https://youtu.be/Oqp8CfsVVtM?t=24m20s last of his joystick malfunctioning in the same run]].
--->'''Klaige:''' Could you just try ''not being you'' for one run ever?
* In espumbrajolt's run of ''VideoGame/BurnoutParadise'', [[https://youtu.be/7tPIn8b9pAA?t=1627 at one point the announcer briefly slips up a donation]] by saying "[[{{Malaproper}} thirty daughters]]" before correcting himself to "thirty dollars." This ends up triggering many snarky donations for the rest of the run:
-->''"Here's five more ''daughters'' and go fasta." [[TemptingFate I'm not gonna be able to]] [[NeverLiveItDown live that one down, I don't think.]]''\
''We have-- [[ThisIsGonnaSuck oh, goodness]], $50 from Prashker saying "50 daughters hyyyyype!"''\
''"Here are five children, genders runner's choice."''\
''We have $5 from [[WesternAnimation/{{Mulan}} Shang, saying]] "Did they give me daughters / When I asked for sons?"''[[note]]Bonus points for this being right after them noting that the donations gave them way more daughters than sons[[/note]]\
''"Serious respect to the announcer for taking in all these lost children. Here's some financial support because childcare is expensive."''\
''"I would like it if you [[MemeticMutation never talk to me or my 50 sons ever again.]]"''
** Eventually the donations expanded to cover other family members as well:
--->''"We have a lot of daughters and sons, so here are a few cousins for our GDQ family." Third column!''\
''We have $11.11 from [=M3C=]: "I lost my dad recently to cancer, so I fully support you guys all the way. [[MoodWhiplash By the way, here's eleven daughters and eleven cousins.]]"''\
''"Here are five grandmothers, cookies included at no extra cost."''\
''[[Film/{{Spaceballs}} "Have ten fathers' brothers' nephews' cousins' former roommates. It turns out that makes us absolutely nothing."]]''
** And then he slips up again:
--->''We have five donners... Donners? Oh my god...''\
''Five do- oh no... Five dollars from Anonymous, saying "For your five Donners, here's five Blitzens." I don't even know what I'm counting anymore.''
* Half of the commentary for the randomizer romhack race of ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast'' is hilarious, mostly due to Patty's constant lighthearted heckling of Andy over his use of the hover glitch in a No Major Glitches run.[[note]]The run was initially called "No Glitches" due to a confusion: The hacked ROM was (as usual) generated with the "no glitches" ''randomizer logic'' (which means the game doesn't require any glitch use to complete, so non-speedrunners can do it) but the typical race rules for ''the runners'' themselves are No Major Glitches (which allows hover, fake flippers and the like, but not the weird out-of-bounds stuff)[[/note]]
-->'''Patty:''' Oh my god, he's cheating ''again''! ...it's not actually cheating, I just hate that he can do it.
* During ZFG's ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime'' 100% run, he uses a routine bomb boost... and accidentally triggers a [[VideoGameCrueltyPunishment cucco swarm]]. Until he leaves the area, he has to try to keep the run going while the cuccos are attacking him.
** In the same run, someone comments as Ganondorf, expressing confusion over Link's speedrunning antics despite the fact that ''they're supposed to be having an epic confrontation''.
* So how do you liven up a (Hero side) ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure2: Battle'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCHTyer0Vw8 race between Seraphim1313 and a_moustache]]? By having the crowd--and the runners--get in on the FountainOfMemes nature of the game by having everyone ''singing along to "Escape from the City" ''and'' the pre-fight dialogues during Rival fights!''
[[/folder]]

[[folder:SGDQ 2018]]
* During ''VideoGame/BanjoTooie'' the group talks about Jamjars having a 10% chance of bonking his head when diving back into his hole and losing time. It happens twice with the second time being in the worst possible location after the runner made a TemptingFate statement about it.
* The hardest part of the famously-difficult ''VideoGame/GhostsNGoblins'' run? Getting it working, which took almost half as long as the run itself. The crew and the chat grew increasingly bemused at each failure of the game to load properly, which chat began referring to as 'loops' in the spirit of the game, and the beginning of the run was met with a larger round of applause than usual.
* ''VideoGame/ArdyLightfoot'' was subjected to the same riffing as an Awful Block game due to the runner and the couch being both tired and hungry. The latter is probably why they spent more time talking about Arby's than the actual game. Someone also brought a small air horn and would sound it immediately after boss fights, or at completely random times.
* [[WebVideo/FoldingIdeas FoldableHuman]] consulting his co-commentator Crystal on [[EscortMission the solution to the fifth level]] of ''VideoGame/{{AMY|2012}}'', which [[https://clips.twitch.tv/RelatedTubularCobraAMPTropPunch she delivers in motor-mouth fashion]] for about forty seconds, only for him to solve it seconds later by [[CuttingTheKnot running to the end of the stage, getting a keycard and reloading from a checkpoint]].
** Crystal [[MemeticMutation is a]] [[Music/{{Eminem}} Rap]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpUrayxVRNk Goddess]].
** The fact that the run is listed as an "[[{{Pun}} AMY%]]" run.
** The pair's semi-sincere reverence of 'Cello the cab driver in the first chapter, with [=FoldableHuman=] lipsyncing an entire unskippable dialogue scene with his hilarious "Boston" accent, only for Crystal to only offhandedly mention later on "[[DroppedABridgeOnHim Oh by the way, Cello died]]."
** Due to the off-center player character model axis and its frequency to get caught on terrain, [=FoldableHuman=] frequently has to turn 270 degrees to leave an area, which he repeatedly refers to as "Film/{{Zoolander}} turns."
* [=JustFlandre=]'s TemptingFate moment during ''Sonic Adventure DX'' when he spoke of a potential soft lock that was capable of damaging the entire save file, but it hadn't happened to him in a couple of years. Naturally, it happened during the run. However, [=JustFlandre=] was savvy enough to have a back-up save.
* During the ''[[VideoGame/BionicCommando Bionic Commando Rearmed]]'' run, the "hype mode" glitch (see SGDQ 2015) comes back through a donation incentive. After said incentive passes with flying colors, the player character just ''screams'' all throughout the run.[[note]]Well, whenever the player finds an elevator, necessary for the glitch... and ''one'' time near the 40-minute mark where it somehow activates, bewildering the player and couch[[/note]] Cue the display changing the category to an "[=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAny=]%" run and donations that consist of yelling [[CarefulWithThatAxe "AAAAAAAAAAAAA"]] that are apparently so long that they ''broke the donations ticker'', prompting all sorts of hilarious couch commentary and AudienceParticipation.
-->'''LLK''': ''([[{{Corpsing}} audibly trying not to laugh]])'' We have $25 from [[Franchise/DragonBall Goku]]... [[{{Kiai}} you'll never guess]] [[ScreamingWarrior what this says]]! ''(everyone begins erupting in preemptive laughter)''\
'''LLK''': ''(at the end of the run)'' Thank you, PJ, for that test of the Emergency Broadcast System.
* The ''VideoGame/TheSimpsonsHitAndRun'' run is done with the game in French, so there's naturally comments about the awkward voice acting (in particular Marge).
** [[https://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comments/8u0jrb/is_it_just_me_or_did_they_mod_siivagunners/ As it happens]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8TAJh0UIro&t=3m53s some of]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8TAJh0UIro&t=26m46s the music]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-OYbRSbZqk tracks in]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uce4ZsxQx6U the game]] [[Music/SiIvaGunner were altered]].
** The bad physics of the Canyonero also get spotlighted, as the car has a tendency to spin out and do whatever.
--->'''Sadly''': (after jumping the tire fire... and promptly doing a 540° upon landing) [[SarcasmMode Shout out to the Canyonero.]]
** Near the end of "From Outer Space...", Sadly and his couch commentator, Bill, bring up the chase part of the level, [[SarcasmMode mentioning how brutal Chief Wiggum is]], before showing off the strat to beat the chase section: [[CuttingTheKnot going into the Simpson house]].
* During the Goof Troop post-run interview, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pscALD_dgSg&t=32m1s Sumichu gets a red card]] for her {{pun}}. She takes it in stride:
-->Well you know what? They were ''right!'' ''[[[BreakingTheFourthWall turns & looks right into the camera]]]'' [[MemeticMutation GDQ doesn't let you have any fun.]] I'm ''out'', suckers!
** Her "unemployment" then becomes a RunningGag for the rest of the marathon. Up to and including her [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsUE2xzr4qM&t=7h6m1s lack of a badge]] during the Finale [[note]][[https://twitter.com/sumichu/status/1013329700415004672 (which was actually unintentional)]][[/note]]
* During the ''[[VideoGame/KingdomHeartsI Kingdom Hearts I.5 HD]]'' run, someone donates $50 if the announcer can explain the story in under 2 minutes. [[MotorMouth She does it]] [[https://clips.twitch.tv/FilthyTenaciousSheepBlargNaut in 1]], ending on:
-->"And also Creator/{{Disney}} is in there somewhere, I forget, I dunno, something about WesternAnimation/MickeyMouse."
** Said summary also had well timed music during it -- [[WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994 "Hakuna Matata"]].
* The folks running ''VideoGame/MineirinhoUltraAdventures'' came dressed for the occasion and one of them kept shouting each Portuguese stage name in a GratuitousForeignLanguage accent.
* During [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhZ8UOa-07c JTB's New Game Professional run of]] ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil4'', he and the couch build up the [[MemeticBadass badass credentials]] of [[EnsembleDarkhorse Mike the]] [[TheCavalry Helicopter Pilot]] late into the game, with ''everyone'' mourning [[TooCoolToLive his abrupt, skipped-over death]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:GDQX 2018]]
* In the ''VideoGame/SuperMetroid''/''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast'' crossover randomizer, Andy found Ganon's Tower's Big Key in its worst possible location, out of a possible 22: On Bob's Torch, which requires the Pegasus Boots, which he didn't have. The resulting wild goose chase across the entire ''[=ALttP=]'' world and some of the ''Super Metroid'' world for a pair of running shoes lasted for the better part of ''an hour''.
** The game kept trolling Andy by giving Palace of Darkness's last item to its boss, then Andy ''almost'' cleaned out Misery Mire, only to ''forget'' he didn't have the Cane of Somaria and try to head for the boss.
** After almost an hour of looking for the boots amidst various boot-related puns from the donations, Andy finally finds the boots in Tower of Hera's Big Chest. His comment? "Funny thing about that chest, I specifically didn't do that one [when completing the dungeon] [[Catch22Dilemma because I didn't have the boots]]."[[note]]The Pegasus Boots are required for a shortcut to skip the pit obstructing the Big Chest after reaching the latter with the hookshot. Had he just spent the extra half-minute to go the intended route, the aforementioned wild goose chase wouldn't have happened.[[/note]]
** Patty even makes a quick donation out of spite from the last time they did a randomizer:
-->'''Patty''': Where is your hover god now?!
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWnGiH1bPQw&t=29s Ecdycis' run of]] ''VideoGame/SilentHill2'' has a few laughs in it:
** Early on when he gets to the clock puzzle, he and his couch have a brief moment predicting what randomly-generated position the clock hand would start at, the solution requiring it being wound to 9:10. He calls Tech out for suggesting the time-consuming 3:25, [[TemptingFate but sure enough, it spawns at 3:55]].
** Ecdycis skips through most cutscenes, both for time-saving and [[NightmareFuel content reasons]], but decides to show one cutscene for "[[BlatantLies fanservice]]":
--->'''Ecdycis''': I'm gonna show of a fanservice cutscene for you here, it's gonna be very risque, as they say, [[BlatantLies and I think all of you will enjoy it very very much, it's very appealing]]. Check it out!\
''([[FanDisservice cut to a shot of Eddie's]] PlumbersCrack [[{{Squick}} as he's puking in a bathroom]])''\
'''Ecdycis''': [[SarcasmMode Beautiful!]]
* [=SpikeVegeta=] kept getting yellow cards during his Funky Mode run of ''VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountryTropicalFreeze'', but it became clear as the run went on that the staff was messing around with him. He and the couch commentators were covered in post-it notes by the end, which meant that his bonus run of ''Picross S2'' (which he played a bit of before his ''Tropical Freeze'' run) was given to the next runner, Bryonato (who hadn't played it before and had to be given a tutorial in the time allowed before his ''VideoGame/Titanfall2'' run).
[[/folder]]

[[folder:AGDQ 2019]]
* The preshow starts with Darkman at the Dulles airport, which he thinks is where AGDQ is taking place, but a sponsor shows up and tells him that the site is in a different location. This results in Darkman running all the way to the real site (which is in a completely different ''state'', mind you), and the other commentators having to get someone else to fill in for Darkman. Over the course of the pre-show, they occasionally cut back to Darkman, who is still running. At one point, when the commentators see how he's doing, he's inexplicably having lunch in a restaurant.
* Keverage had a hilarious TemptingFate moment during his ''Mario Kart DS'' run when, during one course, he commented that "Things are going pretty well so far." Cue his getting hit by a Lightning Bolt...immediately followed by a Blue Shell.
* Mythicalnine, a couch commentator for Krankdud, laments in Krankdud's ''VideoGame/MegaManZero2'' run that, because some of the glitches and exploits are region-locked to the Japanese version of the game, the viewers will not be able to understand the story. Instead, Mythicalnine offers to retell the events of the story for the viewers. His version of the story is...''different.''
-->'''Mythicalnine''': This is [[{{Bishonen}} Elpizo]], and, uh, I think he's the one in command because he has the best hair. It's the longest, with the curliest, the most gold, so that puts him at top. We're going to see, uh, Ciel in a little bit, with her long blonde hair, also a high ranking figure. And of course when [[{{Bishonen}} Zero]] shows up, with that lovely, long blonde hair, he ''immediately'' receives a high position in the ranks and will be put to work on some missions.
* The ''Bomberman 64'' run was a perfectly entertaining disaster of worst-case RNG and Streamer's Curse, but what really made it this was that after the run finished a minute over estimate, when nothing else could possibly go wrong with the run itself, the stream audio malfunctioned and had to be repaired.
* The met incentive for [=RagnellGoW's=] ''VideoGame/GodOfWarII'' run resulted in the entire thing being done with [[{{Bathos}} Kratos wearing]] [[GoofySuit a goofy fish suit]], inspiring no shortage of [[HurricaneOfPuns awful fish puns]] [[WorldOfPun from the donations]]. At one point, Ragnell stops asking for "donations" and instead specifically asks for puns.
-->'''[=TiraLyra=]''': We've got $10 from [[Creator/SeanChiplock SonicMega]] saying "Don't hate on the pun donations, they're all for a good [[{{Pun}} porpoise]]!\
'''tharixer''': No, I'm not hating on the donations, they're all for a good [[{{Pun}} cod]].
* During the final boss fight of ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaIIIDraculasCurse'', the runner, Jay_Cee, already low on health, manages to die to Dracula's third form ''after landing the finishing blow'', which results in him having to fight Dracula all over again. Jay_Cee jokingly called time after he was sent back. As a bonus, this was after he [[TemptingFate turned down a safety wall meat]], to the annoyance of one couch member.
* The ''VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountryTropicalFreeze'' race was full of great moments, but the highlight came at about 51:40 when, after much peer pressure (and a $200 donation asking for it), the donation announcer sang part of the [[VideoGame/DonkeyKong64 DK Rap]], despite not knowing the lyrics or rhythm beforehand (he had to look up a Platform/YouTube video to get the beat right). Also doubles as a [[Awesome/GamesDoneQuick Moment of Awesome]].
** Partway into the run, Spikevegeta's name plate is replaced with "[=Spikevegeta2=]", possibly due to conflicting with another GDQ user who got the name first. Even further on, it gets changed once again to "Spike "[[{{Foreshadowing}} Urban Yeti]]" Vegeta".
* ''Sanic Ball''. Dear God, ''Sanic Ball''. Gyoo turns a SoBadItsGood racing game that consists of balls with Sonic characters' faces on them into one of the funniest runs of the event:
** The first few tracks are fairly normal, with the [[VideoGame/SonicR expected music tracks]] and stage references for a Sonic racing game. But later tracks switch things up with [[VideoGame/StreetFighterII Guile's theme]] and '''''[[Manga/InitialD Deja Vu]]''''', and the final stage is literally just [[VideoGame/SuperMarioKart Rainbow Road]].
** [=BigJon=] accidentally manages to get in on the hilarity from reading out one donation, referring to the character select poll before the run:
--->'''[=BigJon=]''': $25 from [=Tasix23=] that says: "If '[[StylisticSuck Knackles]]' didn't win the poll, a lot of people would've been... [[StealthPun salty]]. [[DontExplainTheJoke See, NaCl is salt's chemical name! If you say it out loud, it sounds like]]-- I'm sorry, I'll see myself out."\
''(beat)'' \
'''[=BigJon=]''': [[LateToThePunchline Oh, "na-ckle"! Sorry, I'm slow.]] ''(everyone bursts out laughing)''
** Following the run, Gyoo shows a few of the other playable characters: Metal Sonic, who's a cube instead of a ball; Dr. Eggman, who's just an egg with Eggman's face on it; and Vector, who's literally just a realistic crocodile model.
* Blacktastic's controller dies in the middle of his ''[[VideoGame/{{Guacamelee}} Guacamelee! 2]]'' run, leaving him with only keyboard controls he not only never practiced with but ''doesn't even know.'' This doesn't stop him from attempting to play while the tech crew tries to find a new controller, and he even hot-swaps controllers during a miniboss fight.
* In [=KingDime=]'s ''[[VideoGame/{{Doom}} Doom II]]'' run, while trying to manipulate an [[DemonicSpiders Arch-Vile]] to open a door (whom the couch named "Barney"), the Arch-Vile randomly decided to just run away instead of trying to fight. Then it decided to fight one of the other enemies instead. Then it decided to walk through another teleporter and not come back. [[TranquilFury Dime was not amused]].
--> '''Couch Member:''' Barney, [[BigNo nooooo]]! Barney, where are you going?!
* Punchy's got a MotorMouth in his run of ''VideoGame/SilentHill2'', which leads to a variety of funny moments where he comments on (among other things) the game's programming and a fight he's having with the Silent Hill wiki over the briefcase passwords. It climaxes with him and his couch acting out the Dog Ending...complete with dog mask. (Punchy later asks where the mask came from.)
* From Awful Games block:
** Partway into [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmPOIe71v_k PeteDoor's run of]] ''Urban Yeti'', he gets his [[RunningGag "That's never happened before" moment]] when [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext the A.I. yeti rides the hood of an automatically-moving car]]. By poor chance alone, it abruptly collides with another car, freezing and softlocking the game. As LLK puts it, the game ''[[{{Pun}} crashed]]''.
*** The freakish [[NightmareFace yeti face]] present in the background of the many dialogue cutscenes proves to be so creepy that it elicits screams from the audience and chat just about every time it pops up.
*** The Yetee was practically obligated to donate during this run, and they did multiple times, including one where they give shout-outs to [[BigfootSasquatchAndYeti their kin]], namely "[[WesternAnimation/RudolphTheRedNosedReindeer Bumble]], [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI Umaro]], [[Franchise/StarWars Wampa]], [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Yeta]], and [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Abomasnow]]."
** Virtual Hydlide. All of it, but the revelation that it's the second most watched game on twitch during the run especially.
** Mohawk and Headphone Jack. Again, all of it, but Dowolf's donation asking "oh god PJ why did they call your bluff?".
** Despite having no couch members and breezing by at 12 minutes, Iceplug's run of ''Home Alone 2: Lost in New York'' is a riot primarily due to him [[TheStoic stoically]] blazing through and commenting on [[EverythingIsTryingToKillYou the sheer insanity]] of the game.
--->'''Iceplug''': We defeated Marv and Harry, we killed them with birdseed after we already kinda killed him already several times in a house. [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext Oh yeah, I turned into Samus again, and I got Screw Attack]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pg06OeoJRVw Saintmillion's run of the PSX version of]] ''Film/ThePhantomMenace'' provides a ton of laughs:
*** While an incentive to turn on the game's voice acting was reached, another incentive to bring [[TheScrappy Jar Jar Binks]] everywhere was not... [[ButThouMust not that it prevented several moments where he's straight-up unavoidable.]]
--->'''authorblues''': We skipped Jar Jar and then he materialized in front of us, which I think lends a lot of credence to [[MemeticPsychopath the Darth Jar Jar Theory]].\
'''Studio''': [[PopculturalOsmosisFailure I don't know Star Wars, is Jar Jar a Jedi?]]\
'''Caveman''': [[SarcasmMode Oh, yeah]].\
'''saintmillion''': [[BlatantLies Yeah, he's part of]] [[TheDarkSide the dark team]].\
'''Caveman''': "[[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast The Bad Ones]]".
*** "[[MortonsFork This is a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' stage]] [[EscortMission because if you're too close to [Padme]]], she'll stop moving, and if you're too far away from her, she'll stop moving, and if you're kind of within range of her, [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption she'll stop moving anyway]]."
*** During a [[SequenceBreaking sequence-broken]] Coruscant mission, a kidnapped Padme occasionally interjects with [[WelcomeToCorneria "We have to get out of here!", "More hover-cannons will be coming!" and "We must hurry!"]] ''And then'' saintmillion reveals that [[GoodBadBugs for whatever reason]], [[BrokenRecord he can manually spam her voice lines by hitting the circle button nonstop]], [[MoodWhiplash even during serious cutscenes]], causing the entire audience to collapse in laughter.
--->'''saintmillion''': ''(busts in her cell)'' Here she is, we rescued her! She's gonna stop talking now.\
'''Padme''': [[WelcomeToCorneria They'll be coming back soon!]]\
'''saintmillion''': [[HopeSpot Just kidding, she never stops!]] ''(couch laughs even harder)''
* The repeated use of dead lions for everything during the Twitch Plays ''VideoGame/SuperScribblenauts'' segment of [=TASBot's=] block. Remember that [=TASBot=] ''always'' donates to kill the animals and it becomes even funnier.
* The "ORB" audience participation meme made its way into the ''VideoGame/SuperMarioOdyssey'' run and mutated into "MOON" whenever the runner collected a Moon. Later on during the run, someone in the audience decided to clap at the end of the oft-repeated "You Got a Moon" jingle; the rest of the audience (and the commentator couch) caught on, then kept it up as best they could for the rest of the run.
** It also leaked into 2nd half of TGH's ''VideoGame/{{Celeste}}'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KvjXsJCt1o run]], when the bubbles and Badeline show up. This led to much confusion among the couch commentators--which ''then'' led to the crowd calling out "CLOUD" and other in-game objects. One of the donations called the run a game of "See & Say."
* About halfway through the marathon 9-hour-long run of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyIX'' (approx 4h 35m), host Mr Game and Shout comments that, in his mind, the voice of starting villain Queen Brahne is that of [=Takahata101=]'s Super Kami Guru from Creator/TeamFourStar[='s=] ''WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged''. He proves his point with a credible impression.
** Early on, the couch comments that Zidane is reminiscing about a girl he met only twenty minutes before.
--->'''Muttski''': Listen, when you get down on one knee and [[ItMakesSenseInContext tell her you want to kidnap her]] that's for life.
--->'''Couch member''': What does it mean when [[ItMakesSenseInContext she asks you to kidnap her]]?
--->'''Muttski''': I think that's called marriage.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf14rVWw2Mc ThaRixer's run of]] ''VideoGame/Jak3Wastelander'' may as well be a SpiritualSuccessor to the infamous Bonesaw ''Jak'' run in 2016, albeit one whose game is far more cooperative with the runner (and thankfully, nobody was banned this time). In terms of an actual demonstration and/or technical breakdown of the game, the run is kind of a disaster (everyone seems to forget they're even at GDQ, as they completely forget about asking for donations until just before ''the final boss''), [[SoBadItsGood but the sheer irreverence of the couch and their hilarious and at-times random commentary more than makes up for it]].
** At one point (specifically almost ''six minutes in''), Rixer comments on how hard he's been laughing so far in an un-family friendly way:
--->'''[=ThaRixer=]''': (turns to the couch) [[PrecisionFStrike I'm fucking crying.]] [[YouHaveGOTToBeKiddingMe (couch facepalms as the audience laughs)]] [[OhCrap I apol- I- I apologize!]]
* The 100% run of ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTheWindWaker HD'' may have had a certain couple of soundclips from the Squid Hunt minigame as a RunningGag, but it also had runner Linkus bidding the maximum ''999 Rupees'' in the auction to get a treasure chart that has the location of...50 Rupees (in the original game, it was ''a single Rupee''). And it saved time for that massive net loss.
* NME livens up his ''VideoGame/SuperGhoulsNGhosts'' run with Pro Wrestling memes, including [[Wrestling/ScottSteiner Steiner]] [[https://youtu.be/JpDqAPc031o?t=1500 Math,]], and Website/{{Botchamania}}'s [[https://youtu.be/JpDqAPc031o?t=1200 "You Talk Too Much".]]

[[folder:SGDQ 2019]]
* [=Zallard1=] had more trouble figuring out the ''VideoGame/PunchOut Wii'' menu blindfolded than in the actual fights themselves.
* A stretch of Keizaron's run of ''VideoGame/PokemonCrystal'' was long enough for the couch commentators to do their own three-way glitched ''[[VideoGame/PokemonRedAndBlue Pokemon Blue]]'' race, and eddaket taking out a Switch to practice his run of ''VideoGame/PokemonLetsGoPikachuAndEevee''!
** Totodile's chosen name is Carapuce, which is the French name of ''Squirtle''.
** The chosen name for the caught Raikou was [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure DIO?!?!]]. The memes were great enough that at one point Viz Media (the US license holders for the manga and anime) chipped in!
** Keiz initially had the estimated time at 3 and a half hours. Knowing his track record of going overestimate, staff extended it by 25 minutes. A good call, as his time was 3:31:15.
** Following the run, Keiz was interviewing...himself? Yes, really. At the end, [=JHobz=] sent him a message to come see him.
* During Ralsei's big reveal in the ''VideoGame/{{Deltarune}}'' race, one audience member yells something that sends the entire crowd into laughter. [[https://twitter.com/sonicmega/status/1153005599405162497 He was extremely amused when it made the highlight reel.]]
-->'''Creator/SeanChiplock''': OH NO, HE'S CUTE!
** Cookiepocalypse opts to take the fast strat during the Thrash Machine sequence and proceeds to be jeered by the crowd for not building a duck. Shay takes a 3-second time loss to build the duck, to cheers from the audience (and later a BigNo from the crowd when the duck explodes).
--->'''Shayy:''' You low-tier memer! I cannot believe you!\
'''Cookie:''' Oh look, the leaves are floating behind Susie's head, you should all forget about how I didn't build the duck!
** Later, during the Jevil fight, both of them end up summoning a bird with perfect timing to make it look like the bird flew off Cookie's screen and into Shayy's.
* While the whole co-op run of ''VideoGame/CommandAndConquerRedAlert3'' by Raelcun and [=CovertMuffin=] was a joy, the best moment was at the very end. After going through an elaborate explanation of how to get the Soviet hero unit to the final objective so she could one-shot it with her special ability, they execute the dangerous plan flawlessly... then accidentally cancel the ability right as they call time. After a few seconds of confused laughter they claim IMeantToDoThat and finish the game for real.
* During Hagginater and Duck's 100% race of ''VideoGame/BanjoKazooie'', the crowd was encouraged to do some of the signature SpeakingSimlish.
** As if lagging behind in the latter half wasn't enough, poor Duck got the wrath of the RNG when Mumbo screws up and turns his bear and bird into the washing machine (wasting even more time).
** The trash talk between Duck and Hagginater and the various donations in support of one or the other made for some hilarious and entertaining banter throughout.
* From the Silly Block, the entire ''Videogame/MortTheChicken'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCdI26ZtzqA run]] that has a whole bunch of hilarious cutscenes and [[{{Pun}} chicken-related puns]]. Also during that same block came the equally hilarious ''[[VideoGame/{{Shrek}} Shrek Extra Large]]'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnvPRcfILUc run]], if only for Shrek running around at breakneck speed, [[FastballSpecial launching everything]] around him, and using [[{{Fartillery}} farts]] to do boosted jumps.
* During the [=TASBot=] All Berries run of ''VideoGame/{{Celeste}}'', the "Kevin blocks" were modified to do [=CovertMuffin=]'s laugh instead. [[ActuallyPrettyFunny Covert took it rather well.]]
* The 100% run of ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask'' is pretty much 5 hours of [=MajinPhil=] and Patty being HeterosexualLifePartners. A good chunk of comments poured in support of one particular contestant that never wins in the dog race, and combined with his horrible luck with the postman earlier Phil gave up his aim at sub-5 to pick the blue dog twice...followed by it placing top 5 when he goes with a winner.
* During Eddaket's ''[[VideoGame/PokemonLetsGoPikachuAndEevee Pokemon Let's Go! Eevee]]'' run, after accidentally going into the menu and hitting the Partner Play button, he jokingly said that he'd pet his [[RidiculouslyCuteCritter Eevee]] [[TemptingFate if someone donated $500]]. [=KrunchyLex=]'s reading of the donations sold that quite a few people called Eddaket out on his bluff, and he immediately relented.
* Bawkbasoup's run of ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil2Remake'' was full of little moments starting even before the run began when he revealed that the winning costume choice for Claire was [[StylisticSuck the '98 one]].
** Later into the run, Bawkba warns parents watching with their kids that there is some bad language coming up.
--->'''Audience Member 1:''' ''We're gonna say heck!''\
'''Audience Member 2:''' ''Watch your mouth!''\
'''Audience Member 1:''' ''Sorry.''
*** It can be found [[https://youtu.be/K0CFIymKnZo?t=1502 here]].
** The audience then proceded to yell over every curse in the game from then on.
* Patty was on the couch during the co-op race of [[VideoGame/SuperMetroid SM]][[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast Z3]] Rando, and he tried to be an equal opportunist on heckling the runners...emphasis on tried. Also, no one being able to decide whether this was a race until both were in Go Mode, cueing the category to be modified to say '(And Also a Race)'.
** Patty said he'd sing ''[[Music/{{Seal}} Kiss From a Rose]]'' during the run [[TemptingFate if someone donated $444.44 towards it]]. A ''lot'' of donations for that amount came pouring in.
* From puwexil's ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger'' run:
** Towards the end, he used an area-effect spell to attack optional boss Mother Brain in order to kill her display adds. At the same time he killed the display minions the Twitch video feed crashed. Doubles as HilariousInHindsight because the video feed crashing was a constant problem when he ran ''Final Fantasy VI'' for the SGDQ 2018 finale.
--->'''Couch:''' ''"Those weren't the'' only ''displays we killed!"''
** puwexil & co spend about 30 seconds fiddling with the menus to allow donors to achieve one final incentive, leading to the incongruity of them huddling around questioning minutiae against the backdrop of an ''extremely'' raucous crowd.
** The "Orb!" RunningGag came to a head when one of the last regular enemy encounters in the game is against a "Boss Orb" in the Black Omen.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:GDQX 2019]]
* Brossentia's run of Rambo for the NES. All of it.
* Keizaron shows up late for the Pokémon White 2 run, leading to his being "grounded" by having his mic muted, which quickly becomes a priceless RunningGag.
* The Wind Waker randomizer run finds a new way to torture Brossentia - making him say "Uwu" while reading donations. It gets worse when the donators start factoring puns into the uwus.
** Linkus tries to explain what "uwu" would be in Swedish.
* "Y'know, when me and my brother played [[VideoGame/PaperMarioTheThousandYearDoor this game]] as kids, [[RunningGag I thought that was Wario in disguise."]]
* Lizstar runs Return to Zork - a game she is ''frighteningly'' familiar with the dialogue of.
-->'''Nikasaur:''' Liz, I'm worried about you... But also so proud!
* Simpleflips is on the couch for 360Chrism's run of the Super Mario 64 Randomizer. Shoutouts ensue.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:AGDQ 2020]]
* The preshow was once again full of funny moments, from the [[StylisticSuck recreation of the]] [[MilestoneCelebration CGDQ opening]], [=KungFuFruitCup=]'s attempts to turn the preshow into a musical and the sudden shift into the style of a morning talk show.
* During a particularly long cutscene of ''Videogame/Fallout4'', [=TomatoAngus=][[labelnote:*]] The g is silent[[/labelnote]] started explaining the clipping glitches... using a diagram consisting of a couple cardboard sheets, plastic cups glued to them and a plastic stick figure.
** Before that on the ''Videogame/Fallout3'' run, his character kept spouting "I guess it was nothing" after getting out of combat, which actually had a lot of comedic timing.
** Near the end of the ''Videogame/Fallout4'' segment of the run, he realizes that he took too much radiation damage and cannot survive a corridor which requires him to take some damage, meaning he needs to find [=RadAway=] ''somewhere''. This results in him losing several minutes, while he thinks he can find it so long as the one store he knows that sells it isn't aggro'd because of a strat he used. The fun part comes after he finds [=RadAway=] somewhere else and comes back to the corridor he was supposed to run... [[spoiler: only to find that there was a lone [=RadAway=] sitting right next to the door all the time.]]
** It says a lot that Tomato had so much charisma and knowledge that Covert Muffin, a couch commentator for the run and infamously big personality by himself, could only really laugh at the shenanigans going on and [[ItMakesSenseInContext put on a large number of pants]].
* Keizaron finally faces off with Animorphs on the Game Boy Colour again... and still finishes two minutes over estimate.
-->'''Keizaron:''' Hey, Edo? You're my friend.\
'''Edobean:''' Aww. You're my friend too.\
'''Keizaron:''' [[YouFool You fool.]]
** Even the donations got in on the fun. One donation early in the run promised an extra $25 if Keiz finishes below estimate for once, [[TemptingFate and Keiz confidently affirms that he'll pull it off]]. Then, after several bouts of bad RNG, they get another donation that pledges an extra $50 if Keiz finishes ''above'' estimate. It's capped off by a third donation that pledges extra if Keiz finishes within 25 minutes of his estimate.
** During a particularly bad bout of rng, Keiz asks couch member doctor_sprinkles for advice.
--> '''Keizaron:''' Sprink, what's happening?!\
'''Sprink:''' [[BrutalHonesty You keep losing.]] You got to start winning. You got to be stronger. You got to be faster! You got to be ''even more handsome'' if you want to beat Animorphs at GDQ!!!\
[[LetsGetDangerous Keiz puts on his sunglasses]]
** Some of the couch members are lying in a bed during the run, and Keizaron himself is sitting on the corner of it. During the fifth chapter's minigame, Keizaron ''lies back on the bed and pretends to take a nap'', much to the bewilderment of the donation reader.
*** Keizaron was sitting at the end of the bed throughout the run. He stands up after finishing the game, and the bed moves up and backward, with the couch members' screams changing from joy to [[OhCrap panic]] in less than a second.
** After the run, Keizaron just leaves the room without a closing remark [[SelfDeprecation because he claims that he's taken enough of everyone's time already.]]
* The ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIII'' run had the runner and couch doing a surprisingly good rendition of "Eyes On Me"...[[{{Bathos}} and then they suddenly included a slide whistle solo]]. Which itself was a CallBack on their RPG Limit Break 2018 run when they also spontaneously sang "Eyes On Me" ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rMTCN5tQ34&t=27637 with said flute]]''
* Duelling comments during [[VideoGame/SpiderManPS4 Spidey's]] [[WalkingShirtlessScene boxers and mask-only run]]:
--> '''One donator claiming to be J. Jonah Jameson:''' [[PleasePutSomeClothesOn Suddenly I don't want pictures of Spider-Man anymore.]]\
'''Another donator claiming to be J. Jonah Jameson:''' [[HoYay I, now, more than ever, want more pictures of Spider-Man.]]
* During the ''VideoGame/PokemonXAndY'' run, the couch gets in a silly argument about pineapples on pizza, which turns into a larger, sillier argument about pineapples in general, with Keizaron being firmly against pineapple and Shen being firmly in favor of it. This culminated with someone on staff ''handing Keizaron an actual pineapple'' much to his amused chagrin, which got passed around the couch for the rest of the run.
** Keiz slowly dabbing after making a bad pun.
* A donator during the ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaLinksAwakening 2019'' run asked for runner TGH to read out loud one of the tutorial books in the library. TGH said he thinks he could spare the time, before remembering that he's playing on the ''German'' version of the game and would have to read the book in German. A bidding war ensued between donators that want him to read the book vs. those sending in donations for him ''not'' to read them. In the end, he read two of them, with the [[NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent worst German pronunciation ever]].
* Bryonato exploit the FissionMailed "ending" in ''VideoGame/{{Control}}'' to call time on his run... only to be "confused" when the game keeps going.
* Andy's randomized run of [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast A Link to the Past]], with the added element of [[AudienceParticipation Crowd Control]], where twitch chat donates bits to change (i.e., [[EverythingTryingToKillYou interfere]]) with the game. And, of course, [[TheGadfly Patty's]] on the couch. [[ButtMonkey Poor Andy]].
** The run opens with one donator immediately donating 10,000 rupees[[labelnote:*]]i.e. bits[[/labelnote]] to [[PressXToDie immediately kill the player]].
** He does get a surprise burn on Patty when the run was over though -- telling people to subscribe to Patty's channel cause he needed them more.
** Patty is more than happy to take advantage of the audiences' love of memes, in this instance ''[[VideoGame/UntitledGooseGame Untitled Goose Game.]]''
--->'''Patty:''' You honked it up.\
'''Audience:''' HONK!\
'''Patty:''' It's so easy. It's ''so'' easy. I feel like a puppeteer. I just say a word and, like, a few hundred people behind me repeat it. Honk.\
'''Audience:''' HONK!\
'''Andy:''' Don't give Patty this kind of power, all right?\
'''Patty:''' [[Film/RevengeOfTheSith Ultimate powaaaah!]]
* [=StoneAgeMarcus=]'s run of ''VideoGame/TheBindingofIsaac'' Afterbirth + seemed to be going smoothly until he got to the final character, Azazel. Early on in the run he comes across the D100, an item that can turn the game into a LuckBasedMission due to completely rerolling all the players stats and items he currently has. He leaves it behind at first, [[{{Crowd Pleaser}} then goes back for it after hearing the audience demand it.]] HilarityEnsues.
* When Golden Deer is the route chosen for ''VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses'', Claris [[MemeticMutation turns herself upside down]][[note]]In order to fit all three of the main house characters on the cover with room for the logo, Claude is upside-down[[/note]] on the couch and attempts to play the game that way. It doesn't go well.
* Mike Uyama begins his [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVPk6z1_J9Y run]] of ''[[VideoGame/{{Hydlide}} Super Hydlide]]'' by throwing coins in a pond while singing a song explaining why.
-->'''Mike''' It's a Spe-ed Run! We're throwing some coins in a poooooond, and it's really kind of a chooooore, but this is the fastest way to get to that le-evel four. And we have to thiiiiiiis, twenty-fo-our times...
** The entire run is also completely ridiculous, thanks to the fact that it's ''Super Hydlide''. Highlights include Mike stating he will donate every time he ''almost'' dies and asking the couch to keep track[[note]]He explains that due to the way ''Super Hydlide'' works, his defense increases as his HP decreases, and he can't actually die until he's at one HP, and he's fast enough that he can heal before taking that final hit[[/note]], telling Keizaron that the final dungeon has the best music, and immediately hitting everyone with high-pitched, ear-piercing terrible music[[note]]'''Keizaron''': I ''hate'' this.[[/note]], and the fact that it's a Joke% run, requiring that he collect all the joke items and use them to the utter confusion of Keizaron[[note]]'''Keizaron''': I don't know what to believe anymore![[/note]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:SGDQ 2020 Online]]
* On the first day of the marathon, viewers were treated to B.G.B.'s speed run of ''Videogame/{{Dusk}}'' with co-commentary by developer David Szymanski and producer Dave Oshry. Dave immediately dives straight into CloudCuckooLander before the run starts and later on is absolutely ''floored'' by B.G.B. performing trick after trick to skip large segments of the maps. His commentary is hilarious in a [[CrossesTheLineTwice morbid]] sense, quickly opening up the pre-run with "Frick Covid in the Bum" and as his sanity is slowly lost as the run progresses and parts of his game he's particularly fond of are skipped over, he utters other comments that come almost completely out of nowhere including "Check out our website ''Dusk'' dot GG not ''Videogame/{{Fortnite}}'' dot com" and "It's called Games Done Quick, not Games Explained Slowly".
* During the ''[[VideoGame/LuminousAvengerIX Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger IX]]'' run by Benja, commentator [=KeatonRL=] brings up how, when he first joined the ''Videogame/AzureStrikerGunvolt2'' community, Benja showed him the ropes.
-->'''[=KeatonRL=]''': [[WhamLine He then casually set a world record right in front of me.]]
* Punchy's ''Videogame/BabaIsYou'' run is RapidFireComedy incarnate. With how quickly each level is played, Punchy has to explain the process of finishing each level [[MotorMouth in only a few seconds]] and he's not short on humor despite the breakneck pace of the run.
** Before the start of the run, Punchy pulls a ''ComicBook/ScottPilgrim'' reference with his drumsticks, even throwing them away just as the timer starts. More than one minute into the run, he drops this gem:
--->'''Punchy:''' ''[[BrickJoke "By the way, the drumstick bounced off the floor and cracked my monitor."]]''
*** Punchy later confirms that [[SeparatedByACommonLanguage the monitor is fine]][[note]]in British English, "cracked" can just mean "hit" instead of "broke"[[/note]] and that the other drumstick bounced into the kitchen. Moreover, the drumstick hitting the monitor appears to have [[PercussiveMaintenance fixed a persisting problem with the hardware]].
** One level is finished so quickly he ''doesn't give himself a chance to explain it''.
--->'''Punchy:''' ''"[=ThisisNearlythisintroducesswap=] and it's over."''
** In the Even Less There level of the Forest of Fall world, he explains more usage on the "NOT" operator to utilize the fences in the level and solve the puzzle, culminating with below punchline as he exits the level:
--->'''Punchy:''' ''[[ItMakesSenseInContext "My greatest accomplishment today was not being a fence."]]''
** In the Deep Forest world, he accidentally enters a level not part of the route, prompting him to deliver a blunt and straight-to-the-point response:
--->'''Punchy:''' ''"...No I picked the wrong level. Baba Doesn't Respond is not a stage we do in this run, go away."''
* The ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Ocarina of Time]]'' co-op randomizer had a lot of silliness, including a trolling seed, questionable routing choices, accidental successes, trash talk between runners and couch, and spikevegeta getting more and more incredulous.
-->'''raikaru:''' I might be a bit of an idiot.\
'''spikevegeta:''' ''(through cackling laughter)'' HOW DID YOU GUYS MAKE TOP EIGHT?!
** Even the donations got in on the ice trap madness.
--->'''musical_daredevil:''' ''Anyway we have 20 dollars from Conarican.'' '''AH!''' ''...Oh sorry, I opened that donation comment but found an ice trap instead.''
* The VideoGame/BloodstainedCurseOfTheMoon has the runner, Starwin, trying to counter [[OurVampiresAreDifferent Bloodless']] DesperationAttack. Even better, [[TemptingFate he was looking forward to showing it off at GDQ.]]
-->'''ecdysis:''' ''Cleave it. Cleave it!''\
'''Starwin:''' ''Oh, I'm gonna do it the best way. By [[OffhandBackhand looking backwards!]]\
[[EpicFail The platform Starwin is on moves, causing him to get hit by the vortex.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:AGDQ 2021 Online]]
* During [=pale2's=] ''VideoGame/{{Turok}}: Dinosaur Hunter'' run, pale2 gets a GameOver on one of the later levels after referring to the one-up-granting collectables as Doritos all game due to their triangular yellow shape. Afterwards he mentions having to "farm an extra life" and out of nowhere pulls out a bag of Doritos and pours its contents all over himself. From there he continues to play and eventually finish the game with Doritos on his lap and all over his floor.
-->'''[=pale2=]:''' Am I eating enough Doritos? Yes I am.\
'''[=pale2=]:''' I've got Doritos on my everything.
* ''VideoGame/Sonic3AndKnuckles'', run by [=Zaxon96=], includes a selection of custom music thanks to the modding support of the fan-made Angel Island Revisited build. The music replacements range from being rather tame ([[VideoGame/PokemonStadium Sunny Park Colosseum]] for Angel Island 1 and [[Anime/SonicTheHedgehogTheMovie Rushing To Eggmanland]] for Ice Cap 1) to outright absurd ([[VideoGame/SonicMania Egg Reverie]] mixed with [[WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb Perry's theme]] replacing both boss themes and "BIG CHUNGUS" for the final boss). And it's not just the main level themes- the Act Clear music is given a ridiculous Totino's Pizza-themed remix.
** Instead of proper themes, random ''Phineas and Ferb'' quotes are placed into the acts that are [[DungeonBypass ended quickly]] due to glitches, including Marble Garden 2 and Launch Base 2.
--->I CAN'T WAIT TO SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH YOU PERRY THE PLATYPUS (cuts to Carnival Night)
* The marathon's Awful Block opened with the infamous ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaCDIGames Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon]]'' with Grumpmeister in the driver's seat. Every cutscene is shown in all their glory and not even Grump is immune to their unintentional humor, having to [[{{Corpsing}} hold back his laughter]] on several occasions. Even host Kungfufruitcup enters a laughing fit while watching the run.
* The final run of the Awful Block was rythin's run of ''Sammy Suricate in Lion Land''. Thanks to an exploit with the music toggle key (called the "Magic" key by rythin), the game is broken ''wide'' open by [[DungeonBypass jumping over and clipping through]] walls and [[WallCrawl zipping up]] and through large bits of vertical geometry. Practically every level is abused in some way due to the game's programing and when one exploit is over, another happens almost immediately after.
* One donator during the ''[[VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl Pokémon Platinum]]'' run said that they used to pronounce Quagsire as "Costco." The runner and commentators were completely derailed for several minutes.
* Mike Uyama donates during Eddaket's run of ''[[VideoGame/PokemonRedAndBlue Pokémon Blue]]'', praising the success of the event in these difficult times... and thoroughly owns Keizaron (on commentary) in the process.
-->'''Mike:''' 2020 has been worse than Keizaron's ability to hit estimates.\
'''Keizaron:''' What the hell, man?!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:SGDQ 2021 Online]]
* ''Videogame/MetalWolfChaos'' made a triumphant return to the stage thanks to [=BlueMetal=], bringing with it the same humor of the SGDQ 2014 run from seven years prior.
* The ''Videogame/MaxPayne 2: The Fall of Max Payne'' run by Mattmatt includes a skip that involves catapulting oneself into the air using a ''pizza box'' to reach a window.
* ''VideoGame/{{Nintendogs}}'' was one of the games run during the first night. Just the mere concept of a ''Nintendogs'' speedrun is silly enough, but donors voting to name the adopted dog [[WebAnimation/{{Hololive}} Korone]] and runner [=ZooKetra=] using "lasagna" in place of one of the trick names, among other shenanigans, further heighten the goofiness.
* The ''[[VideoGame/PaperMario64 Paper Mario]]'' [[GoodBadBugs glitch exhibition]] starts by displaying "Paper Mario" as the game title. But it quickly changes to "[[Main/EvenTheSubtitlerIsStumped Paper... Mario?]]", since the runner is playing ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime'' in order to get the data he needs written to the N64 Expansion Pak for a ''Paper Mario'' credits warp. Once the ''Ocarina of Time'' segment finishes, the game title switches again to "Paper Mario!!", and ''[[Main/RuleOfThree again]]'' to "Paper Mario" in a [[Main/TheBackwardsR pseudo-Cyrillic font]] later on.
* How ''Videogame/YoshisStory'' runner [=LoveBot=] describes [[ZeroEffortBoss Cloud N. Candy]]:
-->'''[=LoveBot=]:''' Alright, coming up on our midway boss: [[NintendoHard Super super difficult]], has [[MarathonBoss tons]] of [[SequentialBoss different phases]] we have to go through... (cue CurbStompBattle)
* [=MikeWave=]'s ''Videogame/MassEffect2'' run briefly shows a side effect of the Speedrun GameMod: Freezing cutscenes to a complete standstill. However, this doesn't affect the movements of the characters' eyes, leading to Commander Shepard awkwardly freezing in place with an "unamused" expression while Jeff "Joker" Moreau's eyes continue to look around without his head following their moves.
* [=Dage4=]'s ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure2 Battle'' run of the Hero story features Tails [[BadassDriver driving backwards]] down Route 101 following a very sudden collision with the sides of a tunnel.
* The ''Videogame/PokemonBlackAndWhite'' race featuring [=PulseEffects=] and Swiftalu, beyond the continued ButtMonkey status of Keizaron, resulted in two notable gags:
** The run itself quickly degraded into a study on "Pokémon anatomy", or rather, puns based on the names of various body parts mixed with that of a Pokémon. The most notable example was "Caterknees" and from there the donation comments and the runners rode the joke for all it was worth. The run's category was even changed from Any% to An(atom)y%.
** On two occasions, Nichole Goodnight, the host of the run, struggled to read off the total number of money raised for the marathon as it changed in realtime, forcing her to restart reading them while the numbers updated.
** Keizaron [[HeelFaceRevolvingDoor repeatedly switching who he's supporting]] during the race, depending on who is "cheating less".
** Upon reaching the forced tutorial for the Pokémon Musical, Swiftalu asks Nichole which Pokémon she'd like her to put a ribbon on. Not to be outdone, Pulse asks Keiz, who requests Herdier. Pulse picks Woobat instead, and rather than putting an accessory on, simply backs out of the tutorial.
-->'''Keizaron:''' WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
* The start of the sixth day began with a run of ''Videogame/Halo2'' by Monopoli.
** When the run begins, he brings in a dummy second player and manipulates the game's memory address to respawn it as other objects, including an entire Phantom that soars through one of the levels and mows down enemies in its path on its own.
** On the following level, he attempts to pull off a skip with the dummy player which fails, so he [[CrazyPrepared hooks up a second Xbox]] that had executed the trick -- only for it to suddenly Checkpoint to the part [[EpicFail immediately before it]], effectively undoing it. Thankfully he's able to pull off the skip on the second Xbox, re-initiating the run on the first Xbox when the second one suddenly crashes.
*** During the attempts to pull off the skip, he describes the entire stunt like a cooking show, interpreting the Xbox consoles as cakes: One of them wasn't cooked properly, so he threw it out and brought up a pre-baked cake to continue from. Following the checkpoint incident, he further interprets it as [[AllForNothing accidentally dropping the spare cake]] on the floor and having to bake a new one from scratch.
** Finally, one last skip in the penultimate level involves a [[OverlyLongGag minute-long]] GroinAttack onto an enemy zombie standing above Monopoli.
* It might not have been part of the Silly Games Done Quick block (or even the Awful Games Done Quick block associated with the Winter marathons) but the ''Timeline'' run by havrd has some unintentionally silly moments for a game that wasn't part of it.
** Starting the run, havrd comments that it's too easy to break out of the map and demonstrates by [[GilliganCut accidentally sliding up a mountain and out of the map]] moments after. He uses a combination of saving and loading in the next level to hover over structures in a medieval village and jump into a spectator booth in the jousting arena- where he then proceeds to endlessly stab two enemy NPC's. The BigBad just awkwardly swats back as he's stabbed but the knight [[MajorInjuryUnderreaction don't even flinch]] from his attacks.
** Later on, havrd manages to make a horse perform movements that makes it look like it's doing parkour, hopping around and jumping off walls to boost its speed. He even shrugs off lighting himself and the horse [[ManOnFire on fire]] twice.
* Eijiken's run of ''[[VideoGame/DanceRush DanceRush Stardom]]'' starts with the crowd being introduced to [[CompanionCube Swiffer-Chan]], a swiffer used to clean the dancemat between sessions. That is, until roughly a quarter in the showcase where Eijiken takes Swiffer Chan into a song and ''starts using it to hit the notes indicated on the screen'' [[MundaneMadeAwesome as if he was "cleaning" them]], all while continuing to hit notes with his feet.
* After the VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses race, Kirbymastah describes how nervous he was before the race, and decided to speed run one of the routes to destress. Said practice run [[AchievementsInIgnorance inadvertently got the world record]].
** One of the names chosen for Byleth was Kittymon, the nickname of Spikevegeta and Nukkulareaction's cat. Kirbymastah immediately crossed it with [[https://twitter.com/KirbyMastah/status/1414275399215943687 a well known 3H meme]] (which was appropriate as the route chosen was Black Eagles, Ferdinand's house).
* The ''VideoGame/PokemonEmerald'' run included a bid war that wound up naming one of the Pokémon after host Edobean, but runner [=AmoebaUK=] mistyped it as "Edobeah". This led to various Edobeah jokes over the course of the run, which [[BrickJoke culminated]] in interpreting the winner for Rayquaza's name, [=DangerNoodle=], as "[=DahgerHoodle=]".
* The ''[[Videogame/SuperMario3DWorld Bowser's Fury]]'' run features the runner, fir_, with a picture of a bus driven by Paper Luigi taped to his forehead. This is to describe cycles and how to speedrun the no amiibo category optimally by collecting as many Cat Shines as possible before Fury Bowser (the "bus") appears. He soon replaces the bus with Paper Mario driving a fancy convertible to describe the amiibo category since the player can bypass the wait for Fury Bowser entirely and summon him instantly.
* Before the run of blindfolded ''Videogame/SuperMario64'' by Bubzia, the Games Done Quick Twitter account invited viwers and artists to draw their own blindfolded Mario artwork. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKnDj3wMNik Several of the results were shown]] in the intermission preceding the run.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:AGDQ 2022 Online]]
* The pre-show had a moment that was instantly memed by people on Twitter from the moment it was introduced: Kungfufruitcup appearing out of nowhere to strike Spikevegeta and J_Hobz with a folding chair. Even the Games Done Quick twitter joined the fun and posted [[https://twitter.com/GamesDoneQuick/status/1482124330452537356 several of its own takes]] on the meme.
* In [=ApacheSmash=]'s blindfolded run of the Tanker section of ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid2SonsOfLiberty'', one of the strats showcased is dubbed the "Marine Glide": executed by punching the air to line Snake up, then running through a column of guards to reach the next room while dodging all detection despite running into and shoving aside the guards as he advances forwards.
* Mr. Game and Shout's impersonation of [[Film/SpiderMan1 J. Jonah Jameson]] during Pessilist's run of [[VideoGame/SpiderManPS4 Spider Man]]'s Silver Lining story while reading off donations, LargeHam included. The loud and brash tone the donation comments were delivered in bled into the rest of the marathon's early hours and made occasional appearances throughout the rest of the marathon, forcing other hosts to do their own take on J. Jonah Jameson's voice.
** The meme returned in full force for Msushi's ''Videogame/Portal2'' run on the final day, as Mr. Game and Shout was the host for the run and Cave Johnson was voiced by the same [[Creator/JKSimmons actor]] that played J. Jonah Jameson.
* In the ''[[VideoGame/GargoylesQuest Gargoyle's Quest II]]'' run on the third day, vanni_van gets an intentional Game Over to perform a death warp and announces it in the most epic way possible:
-->'''vanni_van:''' I have an important announcement: CANNONBALL!! (jumps into the fire pit)
* dwolf ran ''Snolf 0'', a romhack of ''[[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog1 Sonic the Hedgehog]]'' with golf simulator-like controls. He performs well with very little issues for such an odd game until he reaches Labyrinth and what gets him is not the claustrophobic level design or underwater mechanics: Sonic is killed by a Burrowbot despite being in ball mode the whole time.
** After using a glitch that lets him warp to an underwater section before the water level rises, he claims he doesn't know what that's all about as he's "always been underwater". Cue the game fixing itself in an instant. He then warns viewers the next shot out of the water is super dangerous, but before he can even finish that sentence he overshoots and [[EpicFail hits Sonic against a spiked ceiling]] at zero rings.
* Later in the Sonic block, Argick donned a halloween costume of Sonic as part of an incentive for the ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog4: Episode II'' co-op run and declared he would play the game with [[SelfImposedChallenge the pair of giant white gloves it came with]]. Amusingly, despite being in a costume that both impacts his ability to see and has a negative impact on his grip with his controller, Argick and his teammate [=AmberCyprian=] [[CrazyEnoughToWork set a new world record]].
* During the ''VideoGame/PokemonCrystal'' Key Item Randomizer race, [=SheNanagans=] badmouthed Bulbasaur, claiming it to be the worst starter in ''VideoGame/PokemonRedAndBlue''. Chat declared war and raced to hit 900 thousand dollars, almost 100 thousand dollars away at that point, before the race ended, so [=SheNanagans=] had to write an apology to Bulbasaur. A ''lot'' of poking fun at this at the cost of [=SheNanagans=] was had, such as adding a Bulbasaur, followed by a Bulbasaur with his face amongst the three racers and adding the apology as a milestone in the hud.
** To pour more salt into the wound, the "Shenasaur" became an official emote in the Twitch chat.
** Not long after, [[https://twitter.com/ShenanaganSmash/status/1481361158409969675 the apology had been written.]]
* In the ''[=GeoGuessr=]'' co-op run, while searching for their current drop point in the Philippines, havrd and [=JanMumrik=] accidentally stumble across an elementary school with a sign that reads "I ♥ [[UnfortunateNames PNES]]" in the front. The runners, understandably, refused to pronounce the sign in full.
* From the 2022 iteration of the Awful Block:
** Grumpmeister's run of the Game Gear version of ''[[VideoGame/TazManiaSega Taz-Mania]]'' begins with the game in a seemingly normal demo mode... until Grumpmeister reveals he had the console's volume turned down and turns it back up to showcase the game's [[BrownNote ear-bleedingly awful]] but [[SoBadItsGood hilariously catchy]] soundtrack in full. Grumpmeister even takes advantage of the opportunity and challenges the Twitch chat to the "Taz-Mania Challenge" to endure the music and resist the urge to mute the stream, to which many would admit either passing or failing it.
** ''Meegah Mem II'', run by LV Creed, is an anomaly from many other games showcased in the Awful Block from past marathons: a deliberate StylisticSuck parody of ''VideoGame/MegaMan2'' with sloppily-made Microsoft Paint sprites and background artwork all tied together and presented with a soundtrack composed ''entirely in kazoo''. Its heavily memetic design, art style, and the way in which it degrades the original game (especially in the music department) resulted in Meegah Mem becoming the unofficial mascot for the 2022 Awful Block.
* The bonus ''VideoGame/ResidentEvilVillage'' run looks like a perfectly normal speedrun at first... until we realize that a head-swap mod has been installed, causing Chris Redfield's face to become ''the baby Rose'' and vice versa.
* Keizaron getting ''absolutely scammed'' by the random number generator during the ''VideoGame/YuGiOhForbiddenMemories'' race; rolling three Trents (which have the same 20/2048 drop rate as the Meteor B. Dragons he's farming) and two Toon Alligators (which have a drop rate 1/10th of that!).
** Spikevegeta popping off for the Trents and their ridiculous animation.
* [=DKSC4Life=] completely stole the show during zeldacubed1's ''[[VideoGame/SuperMario3DLand Super Mario 3D Land]]'' run on Day 6, with his [[LargeHam bombastic]] sports announcer impression, his [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} wildly random]] commentary, and his bottomless, hyperactive enthusiasm that had much of the chat claiming his vibes embodied the spirit of classic Games Done Quick.
* The ''VideoGame/SpongeBobSquarePantsBattleForBikiniBottom'' run on Day 7 has a brief moment where [=SHiFT=] clips [=SpongeBob=]'s Bubble Bowl into a tiki head inside a Skee-Ball machine, causing [[BrokenRecord a repeated "ding" sound effect]] to go off and "30!" to flash on the screen repeatedly. In the mist of all this, you can see the Shiny Objects counter shoot up at an alarmingly fast rate.
* After the battle against Sweet Cap'n Cakes in Shayy's ''VideoGame/{{Deltarune}}'' run, a glitch is triggered where Kris' defeat sprite carries over into the dance party following the battle, all while the rest of the heroes and the Sweet Cap'n Cakes dance away.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:SGDQ 2022]]
* The intro video starts off rather dark, with [=Jhobbz=], Keizaron, and Kungfufruitcup all dead or dying, with Jhobbz gasping out "If only Adef were here...". Cut to Adef in his hotel room terrifying and running to the convention center shouting "I'll do whatever they need!"
** And then, a few minutes into the hosts introducing the marathon, Adef ''charges in'' and proclaims that he's there to save everyone. Jhobbz immediately says that he can't just demand to be included and calls security.
* After the run of the original ''VideoGame/MassEffect1'' by [=MikeWave=], a glitch showcase all about the Mako descends into chaos once a well-placed explosive causes the Mako to clip out of bounds and fly around like a crazed insect. Crazily enough, the resulting skip works on the first try. Following this crazy stunt is a series of out-of-bounds driving over wonky collision and invisible roads, some randomly shooting the Mako [[FlyingCar into the air]] while it navigates the negative space.
* Froob's run of ''VideoGame/YakuzaLikeADragon'' turned out a few notable moments of humor.
** One of the three incentives for the run is "Ono Michio Mode", in which everyone in the main party is given the Ono Michio mask an hour and a half into the run, making the rest of the run's battles comically silly as the streets are wiped clean by [[FightingClown a squad of people in cartoony orange masks]].
** Midway through the run, the party fights a tiger in a boss battle. It begins like normal, only for everything to fall apart when the tiger attacks Eri Kamataki, causing her body to collapse and suddenly slide across the floor until she finally gets up across the room. The tiger even follows Eri's body like a cat following a laser, somehow managing to dodge most of Joon-gi Han's gun attack that Froob cues up after Eri collapses.
* Halfway through the marathon, the three stars of the ''Pokemon Crystal'' run from AGDQ 2022 (Keizaron, 360Chrism, and Shenanagans) alongside adef, returned to run a special kind of ''[[VideoGame/PokemonRubyAndSapphire Pokemon Emerald]]'' randomizer: Evolution Chaos Co-Op. In short, Pokemon and their moves are completely randomized, and every time a level up occurs, the Pokémon evolves into another random species, going from the likes of a fully evolved Pokémon to an unevolved Pokémon to even a [[OlympusMons legendary]] in the span of only one level. This creates a number of intriguing scenarios throughout the game:
** Wally's catching tutorial is randomized into Wally attempting to catch a Crawdaunt using a Carvanha. Wally's Carvanha is armed with only Tackle, while the Crawdaunt packs ''Frenzy Plant'' to [[CurbStompBattle one-shot]] Carvanha, ending the catching tutorial prematurely.
** Early on, they need an encounter or two to get some levels. First thing they find is Suicune -- a legendary Pokemon, perfect for XP gain. The Suicune immediately ''blows itself up'' and takes the player with it.
** The first Gym Leader, Roxanne, proves to be [[WakeUpCallBoss a massive challenge]] for how early in the run she is fought. Her Golbat in particular was excessively difficult to beat, with a blazing fast speed stat that was further enhanced with Speed Boost every turn and Ground-type coverage. It took the runners fifteen minutes to defeat Roxanne, and the troubles they faced with Golbat would be enough to turn it into a recurring HateSink in eddaket's ''[[VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl]]'' run two days later.
** During the second rival fight, 360Chrism announces that he's not going to heal their starter before the rival sends in his Kakuna. The Kakuna turns out to have evolved into Beedrill and learned the OneHitKill move Guillotine since the last time it was seen, [[OhCrap to the runners' horror]].
** The starter evolves into a Lotad on two separate occasions. The second time it happens, Shenanagans mentions that the nature of the randomizer means it's possible for Pokemon to get into loops of evolving into the same few species repeatedly, and that this keeps happening to 360Chrism whenever he runs the game. Sure enough, the next evolution confirms they're in a loop.
** In regular ''Emerald'', the optional battle against Steven Stone features six powerful Rock-and-Steel Pokemon and is easily the toughest fight in the game. Not so much in the randomizer run, where Steven's team consists of a Meditite, two Abra, a Corsola, a Kabuto, and [[StarterMon an Ivysaur]].
--->'''Keizaron''': This is the ''{{Superboss}}'', by the way...
* Spikevegeta's run of ''VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountryTropicalFreeze'' has host Nukkuler getting donation messages in the style of the [[VideoGame/DonkeyKong64 DK Rap]]. Spike also asks if there are any Lanky Kong fans in the audience, [[MemeticLoser to no response]].
* During the showcase of ''VideoGame/SoundVoltex EXCEED GEAR'', leviern suddenly abandons the game's cabinet midway through the song Doppelganger when it comes to a [[{{Beat}} pause]], stumping his commentators until he returns to view just in time for the song to resume... wearing a clown costume.
* The afternoon of Day 7 featured ''VideoGame/SuperMarioAllStars + VideoGame/SuperMarioWorld'', but since it was an Arbitrary Code Execution run, what was shown was ''nothing'' like a typical speedrun:
** Starting in ''Super Mario World'', [=SethBling=] completes Yoshi's Island 3, restarts to the level, and as part of the tricks needed, he creates two Yoshi's at once, merges them into one, and launches the merged Yoshi off the cliff... only for it to suddenly re-appear [[TheCatCameBack right under Mario's feet]].
** Continuing the insanity, [=SethBling=] turns Mario into an invalid powerup state, which causes him to become "Ketchup Mario", a small Mario with a dark red color palette with broken movement sprites. He repeats the trick, making Mario change to "Tomato Mario" and later on "Green Goblin Mario" with a different setup in Yoshi's Island 2. Using this Green Goblin Mario, he collects multiple Mushrooms from the Reserve Box, fishing off with one final Mushroom pickup (and one final bit of ACE) to [[CuttingTheKnot skip to the credits]].
** With one game down, [=SethBling=] moves onto ''Super Mario Bros. 3'' and [[OhCrap reacts in horror]] when he notices that the save he had previously injected code into isn't there. The solution? [[PercussiveMaintenance Blow on the cartridge, notice the surgical mask gets in the way, and fan it with his hand afterwards]].[[note]]Later in the run they admit they actually swapped the cartridge with a backup one they prepared earlier for marathon-safety.[[/note]]
** Now with the save working, he proceeds to rip open the remaining four games, warping to their final levels with Debug Mode and [[DungeonBypass fly straight to the end of each level]] with GodMode or just teleport directly to the credits. In the case of ''[=SMB1=]'' and ''Lost Levels'', it turns Peach into a bizarre GlitchEntity that Mario still swoons over in their endings.

[[folder:AGDQ 2023 Online]]
* One of the first runs of the marathon was ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild'', which immediately goes off the rails once Player 5 obtains the Remote Bomb rune. With the help of the base wooden shield, Player 5 sets up a trick known as the "slide": grabbing onto a bomb and using it to glide across large horizontal distances at incredible speed... while Link's model violently rotates through the air.
* In zzrules21's run of the Game of the Year Enhanced version of ''VideoGame/Borderlands1'', the route taken to finish the game as quickly as possible requires completing two quests where one must buy and sell '''1,200''' items. The process is so long and time consuming (and as zzrules21 elaborates, is not good for any runner's health) that an automated script is used to do the mass purchasing and then mass selling of healing kits, which takes [[OverlyLongGag three minutes and forty seconds]] to complete.
-->'''Deceptix_:''' I can tell you from experience... it is, uh, [[{{Understatement}} not very fun]] to [[ButtonMashing mash Enter]] 2,400 times.
* Kicking off the second day of the marathon was [=JosephJoestar316=]'s Perfect Stealth/No Kills NG+ run of ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolidVGroundZeroes''. True to the category name, the game must be completed in a PacifistRun... however, as we eventually see, this does not include taking down enemies through indirect means, even if it requires Snake to set off [[ExplodingBarrels an exploding barrel]] or topple a watchtower with a grenade. This leads to the joke that Snake is actually a BadassPacifist who has never killed anyone, despite all the [[BlatantLies obvious on-screen deaths]].
-->'''ateatree:''' Much like [[VideoGame/LikeADragon Kazuma Kiryu]], Solid Snake has never killed anyone.\
'''[=JosephJoestar316=] (speaking in an imitation of Snake):''' Never!
* ''Videogame/GoatSimulator'' became one of the standout titles of early Day 3, and it delivers on the comedic potential thanks to the RapidFireComedy nature of Riekelt's run and [=SporadicErratic=]'s [[{{Corpsing}} inability to resist laughing]] as she witnesses all the ongoing hilarity.
** Before the run starts, Riekelt exclaims that he had a joke about playing ''Videogame/RocketLeague'' planned, only to decide not to go with it.
** When Riekelt enters Goatville, at one point he falls onto the roof of a house and accidentally clips the goat's entire body through it [[EpicFail except the head]]. Later, he goes on to explain in elaborate detail how goats are able to suddenly go through solid structures in a way it seems realistic... only to have his explanation [[KilledMidSentence cut off by an oncoming truck]].
* Punchy's run of ''VideoGame/{{Illbleed}}'' was ''hysterical'' from beginning to end, mostly due to the sheer absurdity of Illbleed. Hearing the host and the couch unable to contain their giggling and laughter at Illbleed's bizarreness helps sell the sheer strangeness of this bizarre CultClassic.
* In Nerd_Squared's ''VideoGame/PoppyPlaytime: Chapter 2'' run for the marathon's horror block, after skipping much of the early parts of the chapter, he reaches a TV with a VCR that would normally start playing a tutorial on how to use the player's green hand. Instead, the tutorial tape ''crashes with a comically large number of popup windows'' followed by a Blue Screen of Death.
* Early on the marathon's second to last day, viewers were treated to a ''six-person'' ''VideoGame/PowerWashSimulator'' co-op run. Immediately on the word "Go", the runners combine their forces to absolutely ''disintegrate'' the dirt on each vehicle with the Trident, the most powerful washer in the game, in a manner that can only be described as overkill.
* The run for ''[=PS5=]'' ''Simulator'' is full of hilarity, from [=Swordfish4649=] taking out an ''actual'' Platform/PlayStation5 box when he unpacks it, randomly flinging things to save time, and ignoring any and all suggestions by the narrator over how you're ''meant'' to do each task.[[note]]Examples include that you're ''meant'' to use the knives in the kitchen to cut the boxes open... so he uses forks from the nearby table, and only clumsily using, without any of the ''numerous'' extension cords, the same two plugs for the TV, console and controller power bank.[[/note]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:SGDQ 2023]]
* The pre-show has a video cassette of the first speed-run being stolen, prompting Jhobz to rope the rest into a heist to get the tape back. Highlights include:
** Keizaron being the OnlySaneMan during the planning stage, bringing up the simple solution or being irritated at the others' obliviousness. His title card lists him as "Is Just Kind of There".
** Adef playing the role of a hacker, going on a rant about how hacking will make on-foot heists obsolete, and how he himself is starting to feel obsolete now that younger speed-runners are showing up. Spike, meanwhile, only says "Alright!" to everything he says.
** Melo is given the task of taming a wild animal protecting the tape: a ravenous [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Dragonite]] plush. He is less than excited while doing this, especially when the plush attacks him.
** To get the code to the safe, Hobz interrogates Sent, who just happens to be tied up in a nearby closet. Sent actually likes his predicament, saying the closet is roomier than the trunk they usually keep him in. And he naturally talks about prizes during his interrogation, even asking Hobz to hold a plush [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Jigglypuff]] at one point.
** Once they have the tape, Hobz reveals he was using the others in order to get the tape for himself, planning to use its powers to make himself a speed-running god. Then he looks inside the safe:
--> '''Jhobz:''' Unlimited power at my fingertips! All shall bow before [=Jhobz29=]... Where's the tape?
** Then Keiz walks in, holding the tape. It turns out he was the real mastermind, making sure everyone else didn't mess up in their roles. Except Rubie, who he admits dispatched the guards pretty well.
** Once Hobz has been carted away by the speed-run police, Keiz and the rest decide to watch the tape together... only to realize [[AllForNothing they're unable to watch it]] without a [[TechnologyMarchesOn VHS player]].
--> '''Melo:''' (snuggling the now calm dragonite) [[DidntThinkThisThrough I guess we didn't think about that part]].
--> '''Rubie:''' Adef, you're the tech guy. Don't you have a VCR?
--> '''Adef:''' What's a VCR?
--> '''Melo:''' Video Cassette Recorder.
--> '''Adef:''' What's a "cassette?"
--> '''Kungfufruitcup:''' You're so young.
* Adef's ''VideoGame/{{Ratatouille}}'' run is made hilarious by the fact that Adef treats it like one of Creator/GordonRamsay's shows, with ''constant'' use of the memetic "Yes, Chef" line by the commentators, Adef barking out orders during several of the minigames, along with various lampshades being hung about the platforming mechanics and ''everyone'' being referred to as a chef, from the runner to the commentary team... ''to the donators''.
** The ''VideoGame/{{Overcooked}}'' run would follow suit, with the three co-op players truly embracing the "chefs in a kitchen" persona and refusing to refer to each other as anything but "Chef".
* 2023's Silly Block would bring a whole wave of comedy:
** The ''VideoGame/GolfIt!'' run is 30 minutes of absolute insanity. At no point do Nichole Goodnight and Bathinjan stop talking, and couch commentators Mech Analyst Tom and Barry try to cut in and completely fail as they are talked over, talked down, and told off, in incredibly pleasant and delightful tones of voice. Not to mention the running gag of [[ItMakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext Robert Frost]]. And then Robert Frost's Ghost. And then Robert Frost's Estate.
** To cap off the Silly Block, Ritzblues performs a speedrun of ''[[VideoGame/WaynesWorldGrayMatter Wayne's World]]''... ''in full Wayne Campbell cosplay''. With couch members Zembar and Konception also in cosplay as Garth Algar and Music/AliceCooper respectively, they all go in character and turn the run into an authentic recreation of [[Film/WaynesWorld the film's]] in-universe TV show, including the ExtremeCloseUp (complete with the camera zooming in) and "WE'RE NOT WORTHY!".
*** After the run is wrapped up, Ritzblues and Zembar pull out Wayne's Top Ten, and they waste no opportunity in acknowledging [[Creator/{{THQ}} the game's publisher]] in [[SarcasmMode a certain way]].
---> '''Wayne!Ritzblues:''' In 6th: THQ, for bringing amazing games like this one... {{NOT}}!
* The ''VideoGame/WildGuns'' run naturally has the runners, couch, and donations speaking in outlandish Texas accents. One couch member even belts out [[Music/JohnDenver Take Me Home, Country Roads]] during the credits.
* Much like the last time it happened, a chant was started during Dangers's ''VideoGame/SuperMarioOdyssey'' run. This time around? [[MemeticMutation Bruh]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:AGDQ 2024]]
* Day 3 features a very unique run of ''Gyromite'''s "Game B" mode. Rather than using [[VideoGame/RoboticOperatingBuddy R.O.B.]] to play as normal, having a human just press the buttons themselves, or even placing control in the hands of [=TASBot=] and using artificial code execution... this run was performed by ''an actual dog'', specifically JSR_'s lovable Shiba Inu, Peanut Butter. ''[[https://youtu.be/wwP5N44Lcd8 Yes, really]]''.
* In Yoshi_Zilla's ''VideoGame/PaperMarioTheThousandYearDoor'' Any% run, with an incentive to go out of the way to get Flavio and bring him to the FinalBoss in place, the route requires Yoshi to do the chapters very much out of order. Because of this, Yoshi and the couch end up deciding that the proper way to count is "0, 1, 7, 2, 6, 3, 5 if you're feeling spicy[[note]]because Chapter 5 would have been skipped if it weren't for the Flavio incentive[[/note]], 7 again, 8". The speedrun category ends up getting changed by the techs to "Any% + Flavio + Math Lesson".
