The year is 2050. The Earth has been taken over by the aliens called Killgis and ninety-six percent of the human population perished. In a desperate bid to give their siblings a better future, the orphaned Kasuga family's elder brother Koichi and elder sister Hitomi sent their three younger siblings [[SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong to the past where they can guide it]] to a more peaceful AlternateTimeline.

In the year 2018 where aliens are still unknown, Ken Kurenai is a boxer who participates in [[FightClubbing underground matches]] until a scrawny man who turned out to be a KillerRobot has nearly beaten him to death. Ken was saved by the Kasuga siblings from his historical death, found his missing older brother Kenichiro, and learned of the BadFuture in one eventful night. Their two families (one with a PoweredArmor, the other a HumongousMecha) have to pool their talents and work together to ensure that history wouldn't repeat itself.

To some {{Tokusatsu}} fans, those names should be familiar. ''[=BraveStorm=]'' is a 2017 Japanese {{Crossover}} film of ''Series/SuperRobotRedBaron'' and ''Series/SilverKamen'' but [[TheRemake remade]] with the sheen of TheNewTens.

!!This film provides examples of:

* AlienInvasion: The Killgis began sending out Black Baron in 2021. [[spoiler:Because of the Kasugas' interference in the past, this began in 2018 in the AlternateTimeline]].
* AlliterativeName: The Kurenai (Ken, Kenichiro) brothers and male Kasugas (Koichi, Koji, Kozo) all have first and last names beginning with K.
* AlternateTimeline: The younger three Kasuga siblings going back in time creates another timeline, which unfortunately won't help the older two siblings they left behind.
* BioAugmentation: The Kasugas' respiratory systems were modified by their grandfather to enable them to survive in the polluted Earth.
* DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou: Ken learned that Kenichiro left to cooperate with the Kasugas and avoid attracting the Killgis' attention with his expertise in robotics to keep his family safe.
* EveryoneIsRelated: Also RelatedInTheAdaptation, the Kasuga siblings are Kenichiro's grandchildren and Ken's grandnephews and grandnieces.
* EvilCounterpart: Inverted as the Red Baron is based on the Black Barons that Killgis uses to pollute the earth, [[spoiler: but because of TimeTravel shenanigans, it's the Killgis in 2018 who has to [[StableTimeLoop base off from the complete blueprint from the future]] to expedite the designing of the Black Baron]].
* HostileTerraforming: The Black Barons release gases that make Earth's atmosphere more suitable for the Killgis but deadly to Earthlings.
* HumanDisguise: The MechaMooks and [[{{Mook}} Chigrises]] the Killgis created appear human until they exhibit inhuman abilities.
* HumansAreBastards: {{Discussed|Trope}} by [[spoiler:the lone Killgis in 2018, who wouldn't have targeted a peaceful and harmonious planet, but humans have their own destructive internal problems and conflicts ruining the Earth anyway so the Killgis might as well use it for themselves rather than let it go to waste]].
* InsectoidAliens: Kozo compared the Killgis to aphids and bees.
* MidSeasonUpgrade: Koji's initial Silver Kamen suit, already an improvement from the series, is further upgraded to the sleek armor in the poster.
* MistakenForAliens: One of the MechaMooks thought that Koji is from a rival alien group because of his suit's technology.
* MonumentalDamage: The movie poster shows a ruined [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Diet_Building National Diet Building]]. In the movie itself, [[spoiler:the Black Baron stops in front of it and releases the pollutant gas, but it never tilts like in the poster]].
* MythologyGag:
** The name Killgis [[UsefulNotes/JapaneseRomanization came from]] ''Silver Kamen'''s MonsterOfTheWeek with the name of [[UsefulNotes/{{Kyrgyzstan}} Kyrargystan]].
** Ken being a boxer is closer to the {{anim|atedAdaptation}}e's Ken who is trained in Muay Thai and uses his Red Baron for Metal Fights instead of being a [[NinjaPirateZombieRobot ninja scientist]]. However, this film's Red Baron is still created by Kenichiro instead of Shouko.
* PoweredArmor: The Silver Kamen suit, of course, but unlike the 70s series, it's worn manually without a TransformationSequence.
* ThePromise: Kenichiro promised to be a giant robot creator so that Ken can pilot his creation, causing the former to single-mindedly insist to have the Red Baron be biometrically locked to his brother. When Haruka dredged up Ken's memories with her psychic powers, he's exasperated that his brother is taking a silly childhood promise too seriously.
* PsychicPowers: Haruka Kasuga is shown to be able to share and view memories. Her {{teleportation}} is also attributed to these psychic powers.
* ReforgedIntoAMinion: The person piloting the first Black Baron in 2018 is [[spoiler:a seemingly BrainwashedAndCrazy Kenichiro]]. However, [[spoiler:it turns out to be the lone [[HumanDisguise Killgis in disguise]] when Kozo scanned him and Haruka found the real Kenichiro in an islet in the Bonin Islands]].
* SequelHook: The film ends with [[spoiler:a scene seconds after Koichi and Hitomi sent their siblings to the past. A {{cowboy}} then barged into their hideout and warned them about the "Shiranui" while an obscured red-and-silver giant ([[Series/{{Ultraman}} not that one]]) fights, implying that ''Series/IronKing'' will be in the sequel]].
* StatOVision: Kozo Kasuga has goggles for scanning whether someone is human or not.
* TimeTravelForFunAndProfit: Not so much for fun, but they play the stock market and bet on horse races to fund the construction of Red Baron.
