Given that Fate/Grand Order is a very popular game with many characters, fan nicknames are bound to be made. Here are a significant amount of them. Memes go here.

----

* Gudao for the male protagonist, and Gudako for the female protagonist. These names originated in the official preview gag manga by keikenchi, where they were derived from the term gudaguda, meaning "tiring" or "tedious" (as Fate/GUDAGUDA Order itself was) plus male (-o) and female (-ko) name endings. They were dropped after the strip they were introduced in due to being "silly nicknames", but because the two protagonists were not given any names in any other form of official media for over a year and a half (and even then only the male protagonist got a name, "Ritsuka Fujimaru", which due to being gender-neutral was eventually used for the female protagonist in a play later), Gudao and Gudako stuck with fans. "Riyo Gudako" is the specific manner to refer to the incarnation in Learning with Manga! (or The Master With No Name, but that's too long). They're also referred to collectively as "the Gudas". Creator/LizzieFreeman, the English voice for the female protagonist in the dub of Anime/FateGrandCarnival ended up using the nickname when she announced she was voicing the character.
* Mashumallow for Shielder, based on the Japanese pronunciation of her name combined with marshmallow and her chest. It's acknowledged by Scathach in her trial quest, and Blackbeard calls her this a few times.
** Also Eggplant Kouhai or simply Eggplant, based on the color of her armor; it got a popularity boost after a comic strip in Learning With Manga where Gudako hanged Mash on a tree with a paper with "Eggplant" written on it pasted on her face.
** ECOAS Mash for Mash's Ortenaus Costume Dress, since she resembles the [=ECOAS=] Jegans in said costume dress. Also VR Mash as her headgear looks like an Oculus VR.
* "Speedwagon Alter" for Lev Lainur, who does have a superficial resemblance and hat, but is quickly found to be evil.
* Roman also gets "The Good Doctor", or Bromani.
*
** In Japanese, it's sometimes .
* The leader of the Crypters, Kirschtaria Wodime, often has his name shortened to Kirsch. Also "Master Fionn" for his resemblance to Fionn.
** Among VisualNovel/DiesIrae fans, Wodime is sometimes referred as Expy the Nasu version of Reinhard. The fact that an arrangement of Mozart's Dies Irae plays in this chapter certainly helps.
** Another nickname for him would be "The Cautious Crypter", due to being dangerously savvy in his Lostbelt by ordering an entire fleet lead by both him and his Servant Caenis.
** After Olympus, he's called "Brodime" after his backstory and true motives reveal that spoiler:he's never on the Foreign God's side and he's doing the best he can for humanity's survival because he really believes in the goodness in them. He even sacrifices his life to protect Chaldea by pushing out the Foreign God from Earth with his Sirius Light.
* Scandinavia Peperoncino gets nicknamed "Pepe" both in and out-universe due to the sheer absurdity of his (admittedly fake) name.
* "Smolga" or "Director Lily" for the younger version of Olga Marie Animusphere who turns up in Literature/LordElMelloiIICaseFiles.
* Akuta Hinako (aka ) is called "Paisen", because she's the protagonist's Senpai but calling her "Senpai" would be confusing since that's how Shielder refers to the protagonist. (It's also a nod at her relative inexperience at being a Master via her Interlude.)
* Tamamo Bitch for Koyanskaya, since she looks a lot like Tamamo-no-Mae and is speculated to be one of her tails that became a 'sexy secretary' (referred to as 'Tamamo-vitch', which further enhanced the nickname justification since she's Russian). And she shows herself to be a bitch the moment she appeared on screen.
** Upon the North American release of Lostbelt No. 3: SIN, she also picked up Koryanchihuahua, one of the many things that Qin Shi Huang called her as part of his MaliciousMisnaming. Fans latched onto it in particular because of the inevitable comparisons of her to a Chihuahua and also agreeing wih Qin Shi Huang as another way to insult her for her bitchiness.
** [[spoiler: Hakumen no Mono for her "Prized Beast" form in Olympus, due to resemblance.]]
* Beryl is "Markiplier" due to resemblance, though perhaps calling him "Darkiplier" would make more sense.
* "President" or "World Prez" for U-Olga Marie because of her intention of becoming the President of Earth.

* Artoria is still preferred by pretty much everyone over the official translation of "Altria", due to its more obvious linguistic connections to Arthur and Artorius, and having been in unofficial use since the series' beginning over a decade ago and in other officially translated works such as Extella. Or else they use Arturia from a fan translation of the original visual novel, though the game indicates it's supposed to be the feminine form of Artorius so spelling it with an O is more correct. While the spellings Artorius, Artoria and Arturius can be found in real old Latin documents (none of which are about King Arthur), Arturia only exists in the VN fan translation; the forms with an O are authentic classical Latin names which the British name Arthur may have been derived from, while Arturius is just a medieval Latinized form of a Scottish/Irish variant of Arthur itself, Artuir, and it thus wouldn't have a feminine form because Arthur itself doesn't.
** Penguin King for Altria's original sprite, which resembled a penguin in stature. Also the rather unflattering nickname "3.5", due to her low placement on tier lists for the current metagame, despite being one of the stronger Servants in lore. She's also known as Seibah, OG Saber, or OG Seibah due to being the original Saber-class Servant of the franchise, and the original Saberface.
** "King Kong" has been added to her list of names, in reference to Gawain's own "Gorilla", after her second Rank Up Quest gave her the ability to turn all her cards into Buster cards for a turn.
* Alter, Saber Alter, or Salter for Altria Alter, by virtue of being the original Alter Servant from the visual novel. It's generally understood that if one refers to "Alter" in a singular term rather than a general term, it's Altria Alter they're referring to.
* Umu for Nero Claudius as players noticed her repeated usage of the term in voiced dialogue.
* Faber for Julius Caesar, short for "Fat Saber". In Japan, he is referred to as DEBU (FATSO in English) after Caligula calls him that way in all-caps Roman letters during the Moon Festival event.
* Sumanai-kun for Siegfried. "Sorry" in Japanese. Started since Siegfried is, without Strengthening quests, a bad 4* Servant and he says it very often.
* The Japanese players refer to d'Eon as "d'Eon-kunchan" due to their AmbiguousGender.
* Daishouri is usually used to refer to Okita Souji, since she likes to exclaim that phrase adorably when scoring victory, followed by a hilarious IncurableCoughOfDeath, and, being a rather effective Saber all around, it's also used to refer to her prowess.
* Saber Shiki is "Void Shiki", as a manifestation of her Void personality.
** Void-neesan (older sister Void), because of her older sister-like personality.
* Fergus Mac Brock, or just Brock (or Takeshi, in Japan) for Fergus, due to having somewhat similar hair and EyesAlwaysShut.
** Referenced in the 2023 AprilFoolsDay's Fate/Grail League baseball game, where Fergus does Brock's "Arms Crossed" pose from the games.
** Fergus Lily for the young Fergus that appears in Agartha.
* Moedred or Mo-san for Mordred, due to her Moe Tsundere speech pattern in relation to her "Father". She's also called "Mordy" or "Morty".
* Dadcelot for Lancelot due to acting like a doting (and sometimes, in fanart, overprotective) father to . He is also called Saberlot to differentiate him from his Berserker self.
* Bedivere is nicknamed "Bedi". He is also nicknamed "Princess Bedivere" due to his androgynous design (that even resembles a Saberface), chivalric behaviour, and because he was princess carried by Mash in the Camelot singularity.
* Because of Halloween 2016 and the description of his Bond CE, Gawain gets called "Gorilla Buster" or simply "Gorilla". Also "Goritine" from Elisabeth Brave's dialog about him.
** Ascended during April Fools 2017; Riyo's art depicts him with a ridiculous chest and arms -- just like a gorilla.
** As a logical extension of his nickname, some fans call him "Harambe" as well.
* Arthur Pendragon is occasionally nicknamed as Waifu/Thot Killer His old nickname "Proto Arthur" is also used often.
* Suzuka Gozen has the nicknames "JK Saber", "JK Fox", or simply JK (JK = Joshi Kousei, or "high school girl" in Japanese).
* Yagyu Munenori is sometimes referred as "Sitting Master" due to his skill animation and his final Ascension artwork involving him sitting down on the ground crossed legged, which is seen as pretty badass by many fans (not to mention that his nickname and real name are considered to be too tedious to pronounce properly among English speaking fans). There is also "Historically Accurate Old Man" due to his rather realistic appearance.
** "Sitting Boomer" is gaining traction as well.
* Since both Sigurd and Brynhildr stress about his glasses in-and-out, Sigurd is also known as Shinpachi, or Sakamoto (which is funny since there is already a Sakamoto Servant -- Ryouma).
** He's also sometimes called Star Lord due to his mask.
** And of course, some just call him "Kaiba" due to his Seiyuu's most famous role.
*** As a side effect of this, Brynhildr has been called Sigurd's Blue Eyes White Girlfriend, given that she fits the description of Kaiba's most famous monster (minus the dragon part, but then again, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon was originally Priest Seto's girlfriend, so...)
* Beni-enma is otherwise known as the "Birb Creator/GordonRamsay" due to being a ChefOfIron, heading a literal Hell's Kitchen, and for having a rather sharp tongue towards those who have taken her cooking class (i.e. Tamamo-no-mae, Kiyohime, Osakabe-hime and especially Tomoe Gozen).
* Lakshmi Bai obtained the nicknames "Choco Saber", "Choco Jeanne", "Gal Jeanne", "Gyaru Jeanne" or "Okijeanne" upon her reveal for being a dark-skinned Saber who looks a lot like Jeanne thanks to how she styles her long hair along with being a Saberface (it helps that she is also dubbed as the "Jeanne d'Arc of India", furthering the gag).
** She is also sometimes nicknamed "Lakshmibae", based on Tamamo's own nickname "Tamabae".
* Music/Bananarama for Rama, because he's one of the [=MVPs=] of the Rashomon event, where the raid boss is Ibaraki-douji (nicknamed "Banana Oni" by fans, see below), and because his updated skill animation has him taking a banana... and eating it.
* To distinguish the amiable, Adorkable, Atoner Saber version of Gilles de Rais from his Caster version, he is sometimes called "Uncool", or "Gilles Lily" for being a younger and more idealistic version than Caster. Even his seiyuu admits to using the latter.
* Miyamoto Musashi is referred to as for events that happen in plot.
* Saito Hajime has "Vergil" due to his first ascension's resemblance to the Son of Sparda, right down to being a IaijutsuPractitioner. It also helps that he's voiced by Creator/KaitoIshikawa, the Japanese VA for Nero,
** This nickname is also shared somewhat with Senji Muramasa, as his third ascension is white-haired, is also a IaijutsuPractitioner (albeit a far rougher one), and his Extra Attack replicates Vergil's Heavy Rain Swords.
* Mere minutes after his reveal, Watanabe no Tsuna immediately got the nickname "Yu Narukami" thanks to their similar hairstyle and hair color, as well as both being sword wielders, with the main difference being that Tsuna utilizes fire.
** He's also called "K-pop Saber" due to his hairstyle being similar to notable K-pop artists, particularly to Music/BTS.
* As soon as Setanta was revealed in Arcade, he was immediately labeled as Cu Lily by fans due to being the younger self of Cú Chulainn and following the trend started by Saber Lily.
* Jacques De Molay, who appeared first in the Arcade, is called "Barcode Crusader" because his vest and shield have a bunch of barcodes on them.
* Fairy Knight Gawain is often called "THICC Gawain", what with her large, muscular stature, and her curvaceous figure. Some also call her "Gorillatina", as both a reference to their Noble Phantasms, and Gawain's previous "Gorilla" nickname. Others also call her "Big Doggo Waifu" or "Golden Retreiver" due to her true identity as [[spoiler:the Black Dog Barghest.]] In the Japanese fandom, she's known as Gawako (or , her InSeriesNickname from Caster Altria).
* Medb's Summer variant is nicknamed "Saberthot".
* Due to sharing the same character designer as some of the human characters in VideoGame/PokemonSunAndMoon and VideoGame/PokemonSwordAndShield, the Trung Sisters were quickly called 'Pokemon Trainers', especially since they came in a pair like the mainline games.
* Charlemagne gets called "Charlie" and/or "Chuck" for short, as it shows off his youthful spirit.
* Yamato Takeru is referred to as Theyber, owing to their ambiguous gender and class.

* "Redman" for EMIYA, generally associated with an image of him giving a smug grin from Carnival Phantasm to make "Smug Redman". Some other variations exists for him depending on the version such as and "Mulletman" for EMIYA/Nameless' appearance in VideoGame/FateExtellaLink.
* Atanyanta (or just shortened 'Nyanta'), Nyatalanta and Evil Cat for Atalante, due to having cat ears and tails to look like a CatGirl without being one and in the case of Evil Cat, having a NeutralEvil alignment despite not acting evil at all. There's also Atlanta, due to her name sounding and spelling similarly to the capital of Georgia.
* Arash used to be called Atrash, although the nickname has been abandoned as he's now very respected by the fanbase. Also, Arash Ackbar, or Arash-class ICBM/Nuclear Missile. Nowadays he's usually called STELLA, always with all-caps, sometimes with boldface.
* Asagami Fujino is either referred to with her in-series nickname "Fujinon", or nicknamed "Bridge Bender" based on her NP.
* Gilgamesh is sometimes called "AUO" because his title of "King of Heroes" is "Eiyuu Ou" in Japanese, which sounds like AUO.
** Was used in CCC for the infamous "AUO Cast Off" scene.
** He also has an in-series nickname "Kinpika", which is what Rin called him
* Nobunobu, Nobbu or Nobu for Nobunaga Oda, though the latter two are commonly used in-game already.
* Euryale's NP has been given the nickname "Love Arrow Shoot", because of her being an idol-type goddess, and her final ascension line also saying "shall I pierce your heart"; all three are references to Sonoda Umi.
** She's sometimes also referred as "Chad Slayer" since her anti-male damage in her Noble Phantasm is incredibly useful, even into the Lostbelt chapters against male Berserker and Saber bosses with charm resistance specifically to counter her mechanic.
* The Swimsuit Archer version of Altria is called Archeria/Archuria. Squirtoria, too, because she uses a water pistol/squirt gun (which later got mutated to Squirtle).
* Chloe von Einzbern gets called "Kuro" because the Archer card caused her to take the form of a dark-skinned Illya with strawberry blonde hair; and "Serial Kisser" due to her kissing/mana transfer antics in her home series.
* Hellshake Yano for Tristan. Bonus points for their similar looks, both playing a string instrument, and Yano's kanji literally means "arrow field". He's also sometimes referred to as "Despacito", what with the "This is so sad, Alexa, play Despacito" meme and Tristan's CatchPhrase being "How sad."
* "Riceman", "Hanzo main" or "RYUU GA WAGA TEKI O KURAU" for Tawara Touta, because of his out-of-gameplay NP of unlimited rice, and his in-game NP being a dead ringer for Hanzo's ult. His Noble Phantasm is in turn often called "Unlimited Rice Works."
* Ishtar is often referred to as "Ishtarin", given that it's literally, well, Ishtar and Rin. A number of fans suspect the names snapping together like that is no coincidence. "Ishtarin" ends up becoming an AscendedFanNickname of sorts, albeit used by Calamity Jane in reference to Space Ishtar.
** Due to Babylonia having dedicated Anti-Ishtar measures (i.e. nets) and her propensity for her antics to blow up in her face (see Babylonia and the Summer 2017 event), fans also often call her "Damegami" (Useless Goddess) as an InsultOfEndearment.
* "Grandpa Crimes" for the Archer of Shinjuku/ who is both one of the older looking servants in the series (much to his lament and denial) and .
** He's also called "Shincha" by the Japanese fans which is a shortcut for his hidden name due to spoilers.
** Community members also seem fond of calling him "Evil Boomer".
* Japanese players refer to EMIYA (Alter) as Bob. Japanese people tend to call unnamed African people Bob. Some Western fans, however, turned to calling him Pucci or Father Pucci. Tamamo Cat calls him DEMIYA (Detroit EMIYA) in the CCC event. There's also "Edgy Emiya" or "Edgemiya", which became canon in the NA translation.
* Too Moe for Tomoe Gozen, because of how her name is spelled, and because her My Room dialogues reveal that she is both badass and cute.
** Also Gamer Inferno, coming from her My Room lines and the voice actor's previous role as Karen Tendou.
** Ayame Nakiri, on account of her being an Oni with a love of gaming like the Vtuber. Their designs are even similar. Hilariously enough, Tomoe actually predates Ayame, but because of the explosion of Hololive in 2019/2020, the nickname came about as a result.
* "Hot Wheels" or "Wheel Man" for Ashwatthama due to his weapon being a giant wheel which can also be set on fire.
** He's also called "Angry Red Archer" due to his color and for being pissed whenever he's commanded.
** "Zapp" with added descriptors like "Red/Indian/Alter" because of the two characters sharing the same hairstyle, skin color, and HotBlooded personalities.
* "Big Boss" for William Tell due to having similar demeanor and design, most especially when he wears an eyepatch in his Third Ascension.
* Paris' weapon is widely known as Dainsleif, which incidentally fits for he's the one who killed Achilles (see below); hilariously, Paris and Kudelia share the same voice actress.
** Paris himself is nicknamed "Fluffy Boi" because of his sheep motif and third Ascension form's coat.
** Before Paris, Euryale's NP had the "Dainsleif" nickname because it hits for massive damage when supported correctly.
* "Chad Orion" for Superhuman Orion, for his hypermasculine appearance, likable personality and incredible power both in-universe and mechanically.
** "Brorion" is another common nickname for him due to his supportive bro-ish attitude.
* Due to Sei Shōnagon's vtuber-esque character design and official nickname of "Kira Kira Archer", fans call her the "Vtuber Archer".
** She's also called "UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch" because the colors of her clothes are the same as the default coloration of the console in question.
** Due to her acceptance of modern technology and culture people have also taken to call her Zoomer.
* Sita is occasionally called "Red Atalante", since they (and Rama) shared an artist (Rin Kususaga) -- at least on Atalante's Archer form, and Sita basically shared the long twintails hairstyle with Atalante's non-ascended form, but Sita's were colored red.
* Fairy Knight Tristan is often referred to as "Edgy Liz" or "Impostor Liz", as her appearance and outfit does make her resemble the ubiquitous idol. Alternately, as a nod to her appearance and the memetic song Tristan likes to play, she is also called "Lizpacito". Over in the Japanese fandom, she's called "Toriko", and in the Image Board 4chan she tends to be called "Bob" from the way the first half of her true name is pronounced.
* Summer Osakabe-hime is called "FORTNEET" due to her obsession with battle royale video games getting her to go out of her room.
* Due to going for an extended amount of time without a name reveal since her debut in Traum, Sugitani Zenjubou is usually referred to as "Gun Monk" by the community as she is a monk who uses a gun.

* SPARTA for Leonidas, due to not only being Spartan, but also quoting the memetic "THIS IS SPARTA!!" line whenever his Noble Phantasm is selected.
* Likewise, Romulus is often nicknamed ROMA for saying that line a lot whenever he attacks... and being the very first Roman.
* Cu Cockroach (or simply Curoach) for the original Lancer Cu Chulainn, thanks to how incredibly hard to kill he can be (compared to Anime/CarnivalPhantasm where his constant deaths are a RunningGag).
* Scathach has the nickname shishou (master), mostly due to how Cu Chulainn addresses her.
** She also has "Oppai Tights" (also coined by her character designer) due to her notable appearance.
** After she debuted for the Thanksgiving event in the NA server, she also gained the nickname Scaturkey, which stuck around since she's been a mainstay on the annual Thanksgiving banner ever since.
* Lusamine for Brynhild, since the two look almost identical and have... Yandere issues regarding love. Brynhild is also commonly shortened to 'Bryn'.
* Altria's Lancer version is called CCO (read as "Shishi-O" for Lion King in Japanese), Lanceria or Lancuria. Her Lancer Alter version? Chichi-ue (a Japanese synonym for dad and breasts) or Lalter, in keeping with the Alter-naming convention. Both Lancer Altrias are also called Tituria (Alter) or Oppaitoria (Alter) respectively, due to Rhongomyniad giving them a visible upgrade.
* The Fate/Extra version of Vlad III is often called Sad Vlad in response to Apocrypha Vlad's Rad Vlad nickname.
* Jeanne Alter Santa Lily version is called, ahem, Jailter. She is also sometimes called JASL due to her OverlyLongName, Janta due to being a Jeanne Santa, or Starbucks for all the details.
* Babylonia introduced a child alternate of Medusa that, while not stated to be one, is called Medusa Lily by the fandom. Or to keep things shorter, "Medulily" or "Lolidusa". The Japanese fandom, on the other hand, calls her Ana after the name she takes in the Babylonia story (short for "Medousiana").
* "Clay" or "Claybae" for Enkidu, who really IS a lump of clay given life in the legend.
* The English community calls Hozoin "Ero-monk" a lot because his look reminds several players of both a certain American porn starJohnny Sins, for those of you who are curious and a certain erotic anime that aired a couple of seasons beforeSouryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni..., for those of you who are curious. He's sometimes referred to as "baldy" due to him being bald and having a straightforward kit for a CriticalHitClass 3* Lancer.
* Eresh for Ereshkigal. She's also called Blonde Rin or Blonde Ishtar because... well, she's a blonde Rin.
* Bootymante for Bradamante, because of how the camera is angled when she uses her NP. Also Baka-mante because she's quite the simpleton (mistaking Fou for Merlin, for example).
* Karna is often referred to as a "Sunbro" because of his father, the Sun God Surya, and because he has a very supportive "bro"-type character.
** He gains the nickname Super Karna when he gets a super-powered costume change from Shiva and Vishnu in order to counter the Lostbelt Berserker. Karna even acknowledges it InUniverse because Ganesha is the one who gave him that nickname. This form also got the nickname Super Saiyan God Karna due to how it came to be.
* Gareth's animation earned her the name Gunlance. She's also known as a "fujoshi" from her reactions during her debut in Summer 2018.
* After his appearance in Olympus, became well-known as Gemini Saga, and his voice only reinforced it.
* Vritra has been nicknamed "Cynthia" due to her striking resemblance to her and her cool demeanor.
** She also gets called "touch scaly tail" as an off-shoot from Tamamo's "touch fluffy tail" meme.
* Fairy Knight Lancelot has gotten saddled with the nickname "Lanceloli" and "Lolilot" due to her status as a PintSizedPowerhouse. She also gets the nickname "Fairylot" as a shorthand for Fairy Knight Lancelot. Over in the Japanese fandom, she's known as "Lanko".
** Some have also come to call her "Shooting Lancer Dragon" due to not only her dragon form's resemblance to Shooting Star Dragon, but the fact that during her NP animation, she passes through circles as she turns into her dragon form like a Synchro Summon.
* Don Quixote is Don Quijote / Donki or Donpen; the Japanese discount store and its penguin mascot.

* "Rishtar" for Rider Ishtar.
* Shotaxander or Shotaskandar for Young Alexander. Broskander or just DUDE for the adult Iskander.
* Boudica is either Boobica or Bootyca.
* Ushiwakamaru is often given the shortened nickname "Ushi" by fans. Or "Sushi".
** A certain boss fight in Babylonia had some fans christening her as Ushiwakanaruto, [[spoiler: due to her ability to replicate herself]].
* Marie Antoinette gained the nicknames "MLG Marie" and "Thug Life Queen" for her... rather memorable and memetic attempt at modern slang in the NA version of the game.
** She also earned the title "KIRA Music/Band" due to the following:
*** Her line when she uses a skill is "Kira kira, kira kira, kagayaku no!".
*** Her skills make her extremely tough to take down, just like Yoshikage Kira.
*** It's both a ShoutOut to the name of Yoshikage Kira's Stand and the Queen song (which also has a ShoutOut to herShe keeps her Moet et Chandon / In her pretty cabinet / "Let them eat cake", she says / Just like Marie Antoinette).
*** Finally, her full nameMaria Antonia Josepha Johanna falls under the ThemeNaming of the protagonists of the manga Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure.
* St. Martha is usually called either One Punch Saint (due to the implied brutality she inflicted to subdue/befriend Tarasque) and Lewd Saint, since she can be too forward about unsaintly things (like being tied up, for example) and her blushing expression made her look like she's just finished with some physical exertion.
* Anne Bonny and Mary Read are known as the "Yuri Pirates" due to their suggestive poses and situations as portrayed in their ascension art and craft essences. Historically, they exchanged love confessions (and consequently a two-way UnsettlingGenderReveal), and in game they can only be a Servant as a couple, never as individuals.
* Zero Two for Medb, due to their similar appearances. Nasu himself called her a CSB, short for Celt Super Bitch. Others simply label her as "Thot" or "Queen of Thots".
* OzymanDIO (or just DIO) for Ozymandias, due to sharing a bombastic demeanor and seiyuu with Dio Brando. Or Uncle Man Diaz, due to Google Translation's misinterpretation of his name"Ozymandias" is rendered as "オジマンディアス", which is read as "Ojimandiasu". Since katakana carries no context or intrinsic meaning (unlike kanji), Google sees "オジ" and translates it as "Uncle" and "ディアス" as "Diaz".
* Because it's such a mouthful of a name, Quetzalcoatl is simply called "Quetza", "Quetz", or "Colt" or her in-game nickname, "Kukurun". Later on, she gained the nickname "Lucoa". She is also called Lucha Onee-Sama for her CoolBigSis WrestlerInAllOfUs personality.
* Many people have called Sakamoto Ryouma Music/MichaelJackson on account of his white suit and dapper looks.
** Some have also called Sakamoto Ryouma Kimblee for similar reasons, though ironically, he shares a seiyuu with Okada instead.
** Oryuu is often called "Ryouma's Stand" because of how she uses RapidFireFisticuffs and always hovers at Ryouma's side.
* Achilles is also known as Orga Itsuka due to their similar outlook, which also leads to Achilles being made fun of. He's sometimes called "Carrot" or "Carrot-head" due to his green hair shaped like a carrot top.
* Young Da Vinci is either called "Loli Vinci/Lolinci", "Smolvinci", "Da Vinci-chan" or "Da Vinci Lily".
* Summer Carmilla is called "Carmilla Sandiego" due to her resemblance with the titular character. Her name is also capitalized as [=CAR=]milla due to her NP, which involves running over her enemies with a car. A more (in)famous nickname would be “[=OOFmilla=]”, as her skill set essentially sets her up as bait to be crushed after she delivers her debuffs on the enemy during challenge quests. Her necklace resembling a taunt symbol doesn’t help her case.
* Mandricardo is called "Ricardo" which is a shortcut of his name. He's also called Hachiman because of similar character designs. Also "My Friend" or the Engrish version of "Mai Furendo" after interactions with him solely refer to him as such in Atlantis.
* Prior to his True Name reveal, Odysseus was usually called "Series/KamenRider" (or Kamen Rider Ouja to be specific) because of his Second Ascension design, and it's stuck around afterwards.
** To Taiwanese players he's usually known as Wu Bai.
* Altria (Alter)'s Swimsuit form is commonly referred as SAM (Saber Alter Maid). Meanwhile, her Santa Alter form is sometimes called Santer.
* Habetrot got the nickname "Windows XP" because her Noble Phantasm background looks like the default Windows XP background on startup. She's also called "Sushi Rider" because her little makeshift airship of sorts resembles a sushi.
* Cinder-eli for Elisabeth Bathory (Cinderella) as it is a combination of Cinderella and Elisabeth's own nickname Eli.
* In Japan, Rider Mordred is referred as "Samo-san" (short for "Surfer Mordred-san").
* Dobrinya in Japan is called "Dobuniki" (The first two syllables of the Japanese spelling of both her names), with the "Niki" part also deriving from the word "aniki", which means "big brother". Helps that she Bokukko uses "ore" to refer to herself.
* For Arcade’s Nemo/Noah:
** Adult/Teenage Nemo for the Heroic Spirit Nemo part, and Noah Mode for the Heroic Spirit Noah part.
*** Adult Nemo himself has been called Nemo Zohar from his Third Ascension line to match with the naming scheme of Nemo Series, or simply Zohar as he declared in his Noble Phantasm’s chant. Helps that Zohar rhymes with Dakkar, Captain Nemo’s former name.
** Grand BuddyGrand-tomo/グラ友, after However, the nickname is later used for something else, see bottom folder for further details.
** Noah often gets called Chii as his hairstyle bears resemblance to that of the heroine.

* "KNO" for Gilgamesh's Caster self, short for "Ken Ou", or "Wise King" (or "Sage King").
* Casko, Tamae, Tamabae or Fox Miko for Tamamo-no-Mae. (Casko roughly means "Cas[ter]-girl" in Japanese and comes from her Extra days as her identity was at first kept secret.) Also "MICOOON" after her "mikon" and during the SE.RA.PH event when her boss fight is named as such.
** Or they just straight up call her "Mikon".
* Due to the Cu Chulainn Caster's Noble Phantasm being Wicker Man, some have taken to just calling him the WIKKAAMAN, or worse, Creator/NicolasCage due to his legendary Narmful performance in Film/TheWickerMan2006. Or [=CasCu=] if you're just into the whole brevity thing.
* Caster Gilles is sometimes referred to as "Greatest COOL" or simply "COOL" from his one remarkable line from Fate/Zero and his NP card select line.
* The Good Doctor, P, or Dr. Evil for Paracelcus.
* Mama Iri for Dress of Heaven Irisviel, even though this version of Irisviel never gave birth to Illyasviel.
* Captain Leomon for Edison.
* Considering PopCultureOsmosis for the Journey to the West event, Sanzang has often been dubbed as "Bulma" after her counterpart who shares a similar role to the original character from the story.
* Merlin is occasionally called "Futa Maker" or "Dick/Cock Wizard" after his infamous meta changing skill, which fans joke to be the one that temporarily gave Altria a male sexual organ in her backstory that led to the creation of Mordred.
** He's also commonly referred as "Memelin" due to him being able to trivialize Buster based servants such as Jeanne Alter, Raikou, Miyamoto Musashi, King Hassan, etc. due to his overloaded and powerful kit, and making a lot of challenge quests significantly easier for the player.
** It's gotten to the point where in most F/GO character review videos, a rooster's head wearing a wizard hat is used as visual shorthand for Merlin himself.
** Merlinface appeared after the reveal of Fate/Prototype's female Merlin in Fate/Grand Order Arcade, though for now this only applies to him and that character.
* Preceding Scheherazade, Nitocris is also sometimes called Choco Caster.
** She is also sometimes called "Gravelord Nito(cris)" due to namesake and her NP actually summoning spirits of the dead.
* Scheherazade gained the nicknames "(Thicc) Choco Caster", "Bed Warmer" and "Ultimate Spook" due to her appearance, her role in her original myth, relatively low in-game ability (she eventually did get some much-needed buffs to her skills) and propensity for showing up in the gacha when a (good) 5-star Caster (e.g. Merlin) has a rate-up.
** She is also presumed to be seventeen years old (oi, oi) due to her voice actress.
** She's also usually shortened as "Schez", no thanks to people easily mistyping her name into "Schezerazade" (They don't use "Scheh")
* Choco Caster 3.0 for Caster of Midrash, due to being the third AmbiguouslyBrown female Caster in the game, after Nitocris and Scheherazade.
** And before her true identity was revealed, she was also referred to as "Tittyba" or "THICC Caster" (like Scheherazade) during her tenure as Tituba because of her, uh, large assets.
* Elsa for Anastasia before her name was officially revealed thanks mostly to her ice powers and their passing similarities with their designs and initial demeanor.
** Anastasia is also often shortened into "Nastya" or "Anya"; the latter is also often used by many of her impersonators or the Don Bluth movie about her. There's a small portion of fandom that refer to her as 'Ana', but a majority don't use it because it was already taken as Lancer Medusa's pseudonym.
* Avicebro for Avicebron, since it's just as easy as removing one letter from his name, and
** Also Avicemon due to his competence to solve almost every problem the protagonist faces in Lostbelt #1; or Avicebron the Negotiator due to his voice, also leading to Adam being called "Big O".Which can lead to hilarious irony because the key to control Big O is getting the phrase: "Cast in the name of God. Ye not guilty.", but Avicebron clearly thinks he's guilty for , like in this piece of fanwork
* As a carryover from Literature/FateApocrypha, people still refer to Sieg as 'Cardboard-kun' or Sumanai Jr.
** After Kriemhild's release, "Schmidt", "Hans", or "Hans Schmidt" popped up, due to her "My Room" lines asking him to change his name to either "Hans" or "Schmidt".
* Similar to Nero's "Umu", the players nicknamed Murasaki Shikibu "Awawa" due to her tendency to say this.
* Chen Gong got tons of nicknames since his debut, but one of the most well-known (and easiest to understand) is Catapult Turtle (or Brion Stoutarm/Fodder Cannon), which functions exactly like him.
* Castoria or Casturia is the common portmanteau for Caster Altria, due to how easily the last syllable of Caster goes into her name.
** She also gained the nickname "Crashtoria" due to the servers crashing and players having problems entering the game immediately after her release in NA.
** Because of her ACupAngst rivalry with Faerie Knight Gawain, she also gets called "Corgi", as a contrast to Fae Gawain's "Golden Retriever".
* Andersen gets the nickname "Thot Repellent" due to his constant trash talk while he was Kiara Sessyoin's Servant in Fate/EXTRA CCC.
** Papa Hans/Daddy Hans for his adult form shown in Chaldea Thriller Night, largely stemming from being revealed alongside Sessyoin Lily and the Fanon interpretation of him being her caretaker/guardian.
* Merlin (Prototype) has been called Magi☆Mari by fans almost immediately after her reveal in FGO Arcade, associating her with the virtual idol the male Merlin used to catfish Doctor Roman. It’s also based on the long-held assumption that Magi☆Mari is just Merlin cross-dressing or masquerading as a girl using illusions.
** Merlin (Prototype) is also called "Proto-Merlin" for short based off of her introductory title but also to help distinguish her from FGO's Merlin in the same way that title does. It gets shortened further into "Purin" (from the Japanese pronunciation) to make it sound cute.

* "Savior of France" and "REGEND" for Sasaki Kojiro.
* "Rare Prism" for Stheno, owing to her poor viability and unlikeable personality making her a very common choice for burning.
* As before, "Jack the iffic" for Jack the Ripper.
* Kerry for Assassin EMIYA, who happens to be .
* Video Oni/Loli for Shuten-douji, since her voice is acknowledged both in-universe and out as both relaxing and quite arousing.
* "Visual Novel/Hentai Protagonist" for Fuuma Kotarou due to his bangs being a mainstay in such works.
* King Hassan is often called "Gramps", thanks to a popular fancomic where Gudako refers to him as such, which also nods to his status as the original "Old Man of the Mountain".
** "King Hassan" itself is also considered one since his official in-game name is "Old Man of the Mountain", and it's usually too long to keep using.
** The English translation went with "First Hassan" as his official name.
* NEET Hime for Osakabe-hime. While she is more of a Hikikomori, the two terms are usually mixed with each other.
** Osakabe-hime (due to her shut-in personality), Tomoe (due to her video gaming), and Anastasia (due to her interest in Osakabe-hime's kotatsu) are often grouped in fanart and called Chaldea's Slacker Trio.
* Prior to her official name and class reveal (IKnewIt which had been long guessed right anyway), Charlotte Corday was referred to as the "Tawawa Assassin" due to her uncanny resemblance to "I"-chan, up to her bust size.
* Kama's first ascension is often called "Gremlin" or "Nugget" due to her small size. This was especially exaggerated by Riyo's art.
* Super High School Level Pharaoh for Cleopatra, due to Franchise/Danganronpa illustrator Rui Komatsuzaki being her character designer.
* Tezcatlipoca quickly became known as "WOOOOOO!" due to his hilarious battlecries in his Second and Third Ascensions.
** In Japan he's more well-known as Roland, who looks nearly identical to his First Ascension.
** For the same reason as Quetzalqoatl, shortening Tezcatlipoca’s name into “Tez”, “Tezcat”, or “Poca” are common practices when talking about him.
* Kinoko and Shroom for the mushroom-obsessed Locusta.
* Twink Hassan for Hassan of the Shining Star since he is the first conventionally attractive male Hassan as a PrettyBoy.

* Herc is short for Heracles.

** And Mega Herc is for Megaros, the gigantic boss version of Heracles you face in Agartha (which was also conveniently lampshaded by Astolfo).
* Tamamog (also Nyamamo) for Tamamo Cat. Or Tamacat.
* Uncle Vlad for Vlad III, which caught on after the Halloween event showed a hidden CoolUncle-esque side to him. Brave Liz in the Halloween 2016 story even calls him "Lord Uncle". Another name commonly used to differentiate him from the other Vlad is Rad Vlad.
** Members of the Castlevania fandom have also taken to calling him "Alucard" due to his physical and vocal resemblance to the character from VideoGame/CastlevaniaSymphonyOfTheNight.
* Berserker Lancelot is called Zerkerlot to differentiate him from his Saber self. He is also often referred to as Jets due to a particularly memorable aerial battle with Gilgamesh in Literature/FateZero -- and said battle is referenced in his NP after his animation update.
* Kinbro/Brotoki for Kintoki, and Kinrider/Ridertoki/Bikertoki for his Rider form. Japan settles on calling him Gold (as in the English word).

* Frankenmoe for Frankenstein's Monster, along with the InSeriesNickname of Fran.
* Banana Oni or Banana Loli for Ibaraki, due to her mostly-yellow ensemble and the fact that, well, she looks like a little girl.
** "VideoGame/Yakuza Kick" is a nickname used for her first Buster animation (which is actually a lunge, but it looks like a kick when you first look at it). The nickname mainly comes from the fact that as a raid boss, her doing a Buster attack would easily kill off just about any Servant she targets with it.
* "Mama" for Raikou because of her inability to distinguish romantic from maternal love.
** There's also the nickname "Raicow" due to her disproportionately-large bust.Which is also a nod to her alternate persona Ushi Gozen, whose name can be translated as "Cow Lady".
* Hijikata Toshizou is sometimes called "Angry Mayo Man", because he flies into a true berserker rage in his Noble Phantasm and in honor of a more known anime character based on him, Hijikata Toshirou, who is obsessed with mayonnaise. Never mind that Hijikata's actual TrademarkFavoriteFood here is takuan/pickled radish, he's never called "Angry Takuan Man".
** Largely owing to his CriticalStatusBuff mechanic, his berserker traits in battle and the fact that he uses his rifle one-handed almost like Arnie does a shotgun, he also became known among Western fans as "Japanese Doomguy" due to being "too angry to die".
* Berserker of El Dorado is nicknamed -chan by some, while others call her "Expy Angry Murakumo" due to her slight resemblance to Murakumo of VideoGame/KanColle and her Berserker tendencies.
** She also gained the nickname "Amazoness CEO" from the Halloween 2017 event. Which has now become an AscendedMeme as there's an event revolving around "Amazoness.com". This has also led to her being occasionally referred to as "Jeff Bezos".
* Atalante Alter is known as Atalalter, Alterlanta, Nyalter, or Mad/Angry Cat because she's a CatGirl who is also an Alter, as well as being a Berserker.
* Pakozerker for the Lostbelt Berserker, Arjuna Alter, because of his character designer, Pako, who also drew Arjuna, Karna, Nobunaga, Nobukatsu, Chacha, Ryouma and Oryou.
** He's also called God Arjuna/Godjuna as he's fused with the majority of the Hindu Pantheon. The English localization of the game made the former his official name (at least when it comes to the Lostbelt King version of him).
** Because his Third Ascension has his horns shaped like cat ears, he's called Arju-nya.
** The Japanese fandom has taken to calling him Junao from (Ar)Juna A(lter) (Oruta in Japanese).
** He's also been called the God of Buster due to how he is a Buster-focused GameBreaker servant that was a god.

* Thanks to her being an EvilCounterpart to Altria Caster, Morgan has been referred to as Castoria Alter. 273* Nobunaga Swimsuit Berserker incarnation gains the nickname "Nobuzerker", and the skeleton she summons in her NP is often called her "Stand", because of its usage of RapidFireFisticuffs.
* Kriemhild is usually referred as 'Cream', due to it rhyming with 'Kriem', and she proves to be a rather endearingly angry/cute lady.

Another nickname for him would be Super High School Level Heroic Spirit.
* Jeanne d'Arc Alter as either her Ruler or Avenger incarnation is often referred to as Jalter or D'ArcnessThough the latter nickname has fallen out of favor over time. Her Jalter nickname became so popular in the fandom that Blackbeard even refers to Jeanne Alter as Jalter during the third summer event. She's also just called the English spelling of Jeanne's name, "Joan." Meanwhile, the Japanese fanbase almost unanimously refers to her as 邪ンヌ. It's a pun with the Japanese reading of Jeanne "Jannu" and the Japanese word "Jaaku" which means "evil". Replacing the katakana of "Ja" in "Jannu" with the kanji "Ja" in "Jaaku" creates this pun that means "Evil Jeanne".
* Angry Man Jew/Angry Mango/Angry Mayo for Angra Mainyu.

* Some people have taken to calling Sherlock Holmes Creator/BenedictCumberbatch (or any of the ridiculous spellings thereof), due to ActorAllusion and the fact that they look similar.
* Mozart Alter for Antonio Salieri, mainly because he looks exactly what an Alter version of Mozart would look like.

* Thanks to their outfit in "Dead Heat Summer Race" (a klaxon siren for Hessian and a police cap for Lobo), Avenger of Shinjuku gained the nickname "Lobocop".
** Thanks to their being a packaged unit of a swordsman and a giant wolf, and to Lobo grabbing one of Hessian's swords during their Noble Phantasm, it's also not unheard-of to reference Great Grey Wolf Sif and/or Artorias in one way or other when referring to them.
* Abigail Williams gets called "eldritch daughter/loli", being a young girl wielding the powers of an EldritchAbomination.

* Qin Shi Huang and Ashiya Douman as a duo are called [=ChinBo=] (Which sounds very close to "Chinpo", meaning "Penis" in Japanese) in the eastern fandom due to both characters being categorized as "Gender: Unknown" despite visually appearing to be men, resulting in various memes.
* Oberon has plenty of nicknames of his own:
** "Howl", due to a resemblance.
** "Sus-Man", "Sus-moth", "Obe-sus" or "Sus-beron" since he's actually a Pretender-Class Servant who can masquerade as other classes, making comparison with Among Us where you accuse people of being suspicious, or 'sus'.
** "The 30-billion Yen Man", with 30-billion yen being the amount of money his debut banner brought in. This resulted in him being the highest-earning Servant in 2021, surpassing Morgan and Koyanskaya of Light. 311** Also "Creator of Alters" for him forcefully turning Chaldea's Servants into unreveiled Alter forms.
** TheReveal in Lostbelt 7.2 officially gives him the title [[spoiler:The King of Braves]], not only because of sharing the same voice, but [[spoiler:how he (temporarily) defeated ORT includes fusing with all his subjects and ending the fight with tearing out ORT's core, not unlike how the aforementioned bearer of the title defeats his foes]].
* Kukulkan also received two separate nicknames upon her reveal and subsequent appearances:

Some corners of the fanbase also refer to her as "Astarte", after one of the many transliterations of Ishtar/Ashtart.
* It might be for ease or to keep the spoiler intact, but most players tend to keep calling "Tlaloc", the name of her first ascension (even in her second ascension, where her name changes to "Huitzilopochtli"). Alternatively if the player doesn't give a hoot about spoilers, Tlaloc is sometimes called "Teno" or "Teno-chan" in her 3rd Ascension.
* Wandjina's koala bear (who is apparently her boomerang transformed) gets referred to as her Drop Bear because Australia. It helps that it will attack enemies in combat.

* Cavalry or Horsemen for the Rider, Caster, Berserker, and Assassin classes, stemming from the "Four Horsemen" name of the events that benefit them.
* Apologems for the Saint Quartz that [=DelightWorks=] gives out to apologize for sudden maintenance (which used to happen quite often).
* Grail Ascension for the Palingenesis mechanic since it's a lot more catchy then the official term. "To Grail" is also used as a verb.
* Chaldea Gods of Fitness for Beowulf, Xuanzang, Saint Martha (Ruler), and Berserker Nobunaga due to their propensity for RapidFireFisticuffs when using their Noble Phantasms.
** A Ruler-specific variation exists, consisting of Saint Martha, Astraea, and Samba Santa Quetzalcoatl.
* Welfare servants for the free servants players get by completing events, because they're free and most of them are actually viable in gameplay.
* Just about every snake-related Servant is called a "snek".
** The Gorgon triplets (Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa -- Lancer, Rider and Avenger incarnations included) also get the moniker "snek triplets". Medusa's incarnations in particular are called "mini snek" for her Lancer incarnation and "mega snek" for her Avenger incarnation.
** Mochizuki Chiyome gains the nickname "Snek Priestess" due to being a Miko of Orochi, and for being paired with Gorgon Medusa in the Setsubun tower event. "Giga snek" for Ibuki-douji has also been bandied around, though it's mostly for her summer version, as her Saber version also has a "mini snek" form.
** Furthermore, Kiyohime also has the nickname "Snek Princess", mostly due to her April Fools' art (and the Learning With Manga series) giving her a snake tail. Others call her "Dragon Loli", due to her Noble Phantasm and historical legend.
** "Snek Boi" for Asclepius due to his association with snakes and several of his attacks having him summoning a snake.
* After the final singularity's English name was revealed to be "Salomon", fans refer to Solomon as "salmon".
** And to keep with the fish puns, the fans gave Merlin the nickname "marlin".
** For further fish puns, in Japanese, Servants are sometimes called "mackerel" (鯖), since it's pronounced "saba", which sounds like a shortened form of "Servant" in Japanese. In fact, some machine translators actually mistranslate "Servant" as "mackerel" in some Japanese websites, much like the "Uncle Man Diaz" above.
* In the Final Singularity, many NA players like to call the Demon Pillar Barbatos by the AffectionateNickname of "Franchise/Barbie".
* Just about every dog-related Servant (the different versions of Cu, Avenger of Shinjuku) are called "doggos".
* Fans also often use [=BerserCu=], [=CasCu=], Proto Cu, and Bro Cu to distinguish the various Cu Chulainn Servants. Japanese fans do something similar, but use ニキ in place of Cu, giving us 槍ニキ (Spearniki), キャスニキ (Casniki), and オルタニキ (Alterniki).
* Some players refer to certain non-Berserker Servants with a three Buster Card load-out and a Buster NP as "gorillas", like Ruler Martha, Miyamoto Musashi, King Hassan and the aforementioned Gawain.
** Meanwhile, any non-Caster Servants with a three Arts card loadout and a Buster NP are called "Arts Gorillas", like EMIYA, Arjuna, Rider Martha, David, James Moriarty, Abigail Williams and Semiramis.
* The incredibly common AABBQ Command Card load-out is often referred to as the "Nier Deck", having "A2" and "2B" (both characters in Automata).
* The Rashoumon event is often given the nickname "Ibaraki bullying" because, well, it's what you do in it. Granted, she can and will bully your Servants back, given the opportunity (which is why players ramped up the bullying during the rerun, and with Merlin added to the mix, well, let's just say the result wasn't pretty. And with the Foreigner class added, that only means more bullying is on the horizon).
** This is often combined with Ibaraki's nickname Banana Oni to refer to the Rashoumon event as "Banana Bullying".
* The ascension material Primordial Lanugo is usually called "Richard's hair" after Richard the Lionheart from Literature/FateStrangeFake because both its blond and red color is the same as Richard's, and the monsters that drop it are lion-like.
* Chinese Triad for Jing Ke, Assassin of Shinjuku and Assassin of Nightless City, as they are a literal trio of Chinese Assassins.
* Fran's Family for the trio of Frankenstein's Monster, Charles Babbage and Archer of Shinjuku after their team in Summer 2017 event and continuing at the following Nero Festival.
* "Epic of Rerun" for Epic of Remnant due to the multiple consecutive event reruns that occurred in the period before Shinjuku's release and the four-month interval between Shinjuku and Agartha.
* Gaijin is this for the Foreigner class, since that's the word for "Foreigner" in Japan. Abigail henceforth is often called "Loli Gaijin".
** Hokusai, however, threw this nickname for a loop, because she's a Japanese Foreigner.
* The Pretender class on the other hand has been referred to as the Imposter class possibly because of how well-known VideoGame/AmongUs is.
* Karoshi (a Japanese term for "death by overwork") for Zhuge Liang and Merlin, as these two are present nearly in any team formation even as just a support, often joked to be that they have been worked too hard. Also applies to Caster Gilgamesh as . Scathach=Skadi subsequently joined the group of overworked Caster supports as well, since she's effectively the Quick version of Merlin. And when Caster Altria joins the roster as an overpowered Arts support, she's quickly dragged into the group.
* The Chaldea Combat Uniform is often referred to as the plugsuit as it's a LatexSpaceSuit with TooManyBelts. The nickname is so universally used, some players cannot even remember the actual name of the Mystic Code.
** The Mages' Association Uniform is sometimes called the Hogwarts Uniform, since the uniform -- the male version, especially -- looks a lot like the uniform from the Harry Potter films.
* "Double Waver" refers to the strategy of using Waver, a Friend's Waver, and the Chaldea Combat Uniform. One uses all of Waver's buffs, which not only give attack and defense bonuses to everyone for 3 rounds, but also increase the Noble Phantasm Gauge. Then one uses the Combat Uniform's Switch ability to bring in the Friend's Waver and do it again. Together this boosts everyone's attack 2 times and their defense 4 times, as well as allowing use of the Noble Phantasms at the beginning of a fight.
** "Double Merlin" is this, with Merlin instead.
** Don't forget "Double Tamamo or Double Castoria" for Arts teams and "Double Skadi" for Quick teams.
*** Double Skadi actually blossomed into an entire 'Skadi System', where certain servants (With two Skadis providing buffs to Quick-type Noble Phantasms and NP charge) can use their NP over and over, letting them farm nodes extremely quickly with minimal RNG.
** There is also "Double Miyu" as well with the Prisma Illya rerun due to her NP functioning like Merlin's NP.
* The Big Four, or the Elite Four, usually refers to the four most powerful support units: Waver (general), Merlin (Buster), Skadi (Quick), and Tamamo (Arts).
** It was upgraded to the Fabulous Five after Reines Archisorte got a June 2020 upgrade that lets her instantly grant 50% NP gauge to any Servant with all three skills, making her a support on par with Waver.
** As of the Fifth Anniversary, it has now been upgraded to the Sinister Six, with the addition of Caster Altria to the mix.
** And now they're the "Endless Eight" thanks to Koyanskaya and Oberon joining the mix.
** With Summer Skadi and Lady Avalon joining the mix, they're now collectively known as the "Terrific Ten".
* Indian servants Arjuna and Karna are referred to as "the UsefulNotes/Bollywood Boys". Ashwatthama, a fellow Literature/Mahabharata character, joined this too soon after his debut. Rama is sometimes included despite coming from a different epic.
* Thanks to the catchy title of their events, all of the Koha-Ace original servants are collectively referred to as "GUDAGUDA-Gumi".
* Even the voice actresses have nicknames; in Japan, Creator/RieTakahashi gained the nicknames "Lahmu Takahashi" (because of her crazed laughter), "Spartacus Takahashi" (because she gains Mad Enhancement EX, you can talk with her but she can't be reasoned with while her fixation is active) and "Bucephalus Takahashi" (because Alexander's horse), among others; this is due to her fixation on young male Servants on the F/GO Chaldea Radio show (such as Child Gil, Nobukatsu and Alexander).
* "Gilfest" for the Battle in New York 2018 event which features Gilgamesh as the main host due to the formatting similarity with Nerofest (a lottery, 6 nodes to farm the currency, and SNKBoss difficult boss fights with no revives).
* Every variant of Elisabeth Bathory is called "Liz" for short; her Lancer version gets called "Liz" by default due to being first. Halloween Liz / Pumpkin Liz for the Caster version, Brave Liz for the Saber version, Mecha Liz for Mecha Eli-chan (and Mk-II), Fairytale Liz for the Rider version, and Mini Liz for the Pretender version.
* "Caster balls" for the generic "firing balls of light at the enemy" attack animations that many early Servants have in lieu of actual physical attacks or unique projectiles. Considered very lazy by most of the fans. Called "Caster" balls because most of the Servants that have them are Caster-class, but other classes can have them as well.
* Not even the DW directors for the game are safe from the nicknaming, as Shiokawa is named "salt river" for an appropriately punny surname, while Kanou who took over in Part 2 is named "Two-kun", or worse, "Ni-chan" for his iconic shirt he wears whenever he makes an appearance in livestreams.
* New Argonauts/Neo-Argonauts/Argonauts 2.0, etc. for Jason's team in Lostbelt 5: Jason, Achilles, Paris, Superhuman Orion, Mandricardo, Bartholomew Roberts, Charlotte Corday and Mochizuki Chiyome, sometimes including the protagonist and Mash as well. Made especially heartbreaking by the fact that the reward for clearing Atlantis is
* The Four Horsemen of OP, consisting of Merlin, Chen Gong, Superhuman Orion, and Arjuna (Alter).
* Sitting EX Gang for the Servants whose skill animations have them sitting in one fashion or another. Started by the Sitting Master, Yagyu Munenori, it also has Avenger Nobu, Murasaki Shikibu, Merlin and Gilgamesh in its ranks, the latter two joining in after their animation updates.
* Bone Hell / Mr. Bones' Wild Ride: The player's incessant need for Evil Bones, as a lot of Servants need a lot of them. Alternately, Dust Hell, Page Hell, Chain Hell or Stake Hell for those materials, respectively.
* The 'Forbidden Page' ascension material is sometimes referred to as 'doujins' or 'doujin pages', because an early-game interlude for Blackbeard involving a trip to Piratecon to buy Drake doujinshi rewards the player with a fair number of the materials.
* "Sprite-kun" for the anonymous sprite artist of the game, as the presentation of the Servants partly rely on their spritework. Related to this is the rarer "NPC-kun", the artist for the majority of the portraits for the different [=NPCs=].
* In a case of a specific server getting a nickname, the Korean server is usually called a "pruned timeline", due to the fact that the server technically lost against GoetiaNetmarble, the company that maintains the Korean version of the game, artificially lowered the summon rates without telling anyone; many players discovered this, and in retaliation, there was a mass exodus of players from the server; as this was right before the Solomon raids, this caused said raids to fail horribly, and Netmarble had to artificially increase the rate the pillars were being offed; as a result, it's common fanon to pretend that Goetia won on the Korean server, and all of the content that's come since is a DyingDream by the main character.
* The Trees of Emptiness are referred as "Cosmos Trees" by players as it is easier to remember.
* "Chaldea Daycare Trio" is typically used for the trio of Jack, Nursery Rhyme and Jeanne Alter Santa Lily. Sometimes it gets extended to the child Servants in general.
* Likewise, Emiya, Tamamo Cat, Boudica and Raikou comprise the "Chaldea Kitchen Squad", which was later made official in an event Craft Essence.
* Demeter is sometimes referred to as "Melon Bread Goddess", due to her color scheme resembling a melon, and the orb that she holds in her hand somewhat resembling a melon bread. And she has... nice melon breads. Yes, indeed.
* ZETE: Zeus' climactic boss fight starts with a thunderous screen splash displaying his Greek name, "Ζεύς", in uppercase letters. However, for players unfamiliar with the Greek language, the heavily stylicized name's meaning might fly over their heads, and the four letters very much look like "Zete" as a result.
* The Three Fae Knights from Lostbelt Six are often nicknamed [=FaeKR=] not only as a shortened version of "Fae Knights of the Round" but also .
* Since "Fae Knight" and its variations are fan translations of "Yousei Kishi" (妖精騎士), in Japan these characters are sometimes officially called "Tam Lin" in English (like in merch), which the NA version eventually used. Most fans prefer to ignore this in favor of the fan terms due to being egregiously SadlyMythtaken, as "Literature/TamLin" is the name of a male individual.
* Cnoc na Riabh from Lostbelt Six is still often called "Knocknarea" even after the NA version officially translated her name as the former. As phonetically spelled in Japanese her name is "Nokunarea" (ノクナレア), and she's clearly named after a hill in Ireland. "Knocknarea" is its modern Anglicized name and "Cnoc na Riabh" is the most commonly theorized Irish original. But it means "Hill of the Stripes" in Irish, so it may feel odd when used as a female name, and thus some may prefer "Knocknarea" as there's another language layer on top to obscure this. Or else some simply call her "Lostbelt Medb".
* Mostly on the Japanese side, you have the Yakudo/Impetus Trio, made of Avalon Le Fae's three main characters: the protagonist themselves, Altria Caster, and Oberon. The name came from the song of the same name, which has been said to be sung from Altria's perspective and is generally thought of as the main theme of the sixth Lostbelt.
* Scathach-Skadi, Altria Caster, and Koyanskaya of Light have been called the Loopers due to their skillset enabling three-turn NP loops.
* Cernunnos is often referred as Totoro, Evil Totoro, or Totoro Alter because of his design. He's also known within the fandom as "Cernie/Cerny" as well.
* "Super Grailing" or "Servant Transcendence" are the terms often used for Palingenesis of a Servant past Level 100, and all the way to 120.
* In the Arcade, Chad refers to . There’s also the InSeriesNickname , [[spoiler:[=NebuGil=]]] for , and “Whore Gil” for his very revealing outfit.
* 山羊ぐだ or "Goat Guda" for
* Due to the way the Saint Quartz summons work, a "Min-Roll" is used to refer to multis that have only one Gold rarity card. More specifically, it can refer to a multi roll that results only in three star cards and a single four star craft essence. This is pretty much the worst possible roll on a multi.
* Skills that give a Servant Arts, Busters, and Quick damage up simultaneously are often called "Rainbow buffs" because they enhance multiple colors at once.
* in the Shin Yamatai event gets referred to as "Blaidd" on account of being an anthromorphic wolfman with a sword.
* Ixquic gets called because she's Lostbelt 7's version of Similarly, Tepeu is because he .
* Due to the way the network of character relationships with structured within the Joui Kin'nou Party, Japanese have taken to refer to the event featuring the Party as "Saitama le Fae"(埼玉・ル・フェ), with each Kin'nou Party member getting their own nickname referencing it:
** Takechi Zuizan is called "Saitama's Morgan".
** Tanaka Shinbei is called "Saitama's Woodwose".
** Okada Izou is called "Saitama's Baobhan Sith".
** Takasugi Shinsaku is called "Saitama's Oberon".
* "Bait" refers to any relatively rare rate-up banner that's right before an exceptionally rare or valuable rate-up banner. The "bait" is that players will spend their saint quartz on the first rate-up, and then have to pay money for the second.
* To distinguish between Koyanskaya's two forms, they're called "Koyanlight" for the Assassin-class and "Koyandark" for the Foreigner-class Servant.
* Cerejeira Elron gets referred to as "Portuguese Sakura" as her first name, Cerejeira, is Portuguese for Cherry Tree.
* Thanks to Lady Avalon's Valentine's Day scene and Abigail (Summer)'s Strengthening Quest, Edmond Dantes, Abigail and Oberon are put together as the "Dream Guards" due to their shared role in protecting the Protagonist in their sleep.
* After Proto Merlin’s usage of the nickname that was then only used for Noah towards First Hassan in the Arcade version of Lilim Harlot, Grand Buddies is used to refer to the apparent friendship between all known Grand Servants and candidates [[spoiler:”Grand Foreigner” [=ORT=] Xibalba included]]. Though it’s still mostly used to refer to the friendship (and “friendship”) between Taigong Wang and Noah, and sometimes Tezcatlipoca.
** Back when Final Singularity was ending, Clairvoyance Trio became a popular nickname for the Grand Caster candidates trio of Gilgamesh (Caster), Merlin, and Solomon, named after the Skill that Grand Caster candidates have the high-rank of.
* The Ordeal Call story arc has the derisive nickname of Ordeal Stall from fans who believe that the arc simply exists to stall out the end of the Cosmos in the Lostbelt storyline.
