Silmarils was a French independent game development studio of the late 1980s and 1990s, that lasted until the early 2000s. They developed games for the PC, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Macintosh, Atari ST, Atari Falcon and Amiga platforms.

The studio's signature game development philosophy was a focus on immersive simulation and roleplaying game hybrids. (In a sense, they were like a lesser-known cousin to the US' Creator/LookingGlassStudios, founded and active around the same time.)

The name of the studio was based on the three silmaril gems of Tolkien's Legendarium (Literature/TheSilmarillion et al) and also appeared in the studio's logo.
