2	Frontier Developments is a VideoGame developer based out of Great Britain.

4	Founded in 1994 by David Braben and a few associates, its first games were a port of ''Frontier: VideoGame/{{Elite}} II'' on the Amiga and ''Frontier: First Encounters'', before changing gears to Tycoon-style games, producing the third game in the ''VideoGame/RollerCoasterTycoon'' series as well as the ''VideoGame/{{Thrillville}}'' games. It also produced the ''VideoGame/LostWinds'' games and a few launch titles for the Kinect before resurrecting its dead ''Elite IV'' project as ''VideoGame/EliteDangerous'' via Website/{{Kickstarter}}, allowing the company to reclaim the ''Elite'' IP as its own. Alongside ''Elite Dangerous'', the company also worked on ''Coaster Crazy'', a sort of CreatorDrivenSuccessor to ''[=RollerCoaster=] Tycoon'' and ''Thrillville''.

6	Around 2015, the company started work on ''Planet Coaster'', which is essentially ''[=RollerCoaster=] Tycoon 4'' in all but name. In 2019, they announced ''Planet Zoo'', which similarly is ''VideoGame/ZooTycoon 3'' in all but name.

8	In 2019, Frontier established a publishing label, Frontier Foundry. In 2023, the label was discontinued due to most of its titles underperforming.
