!Tropes
* TheDitz: Thanks to ''Series/That70sShow'' and ''Film/DudeWheresMyCar'', he's essentially been [[TypeCasting Type Cast]] as this.
* MrFanservice: He is a former model and is constantly part of many "Hollywood hottest/most handsome actors" lists.
* PlayingAgainstType: Appears to have started doing this, usually being cast as a brainy genius in a lot of his later appearances in shows. This is likely an attempt to break his [[TheDitz Kelso]] [[TypeCasting image]] from ''Series/That70sShow''.
* RomanceOnTheSet: DoubleSubverted. He and Creator/MilaKunis only became a couple off-screen seven years after ''Series/That70sShow'' ended.
* StarMakingRole: In ''Series/That70sShow''.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: He stands 6'2.
* TypeCasting: Seems to be mostly cast as TheDitz thanks to his StarMakingRole in ''Series/That70sShow''. It seems to be an image he's attempting to break, as a lot of his later roles [[PlayingAgainstType usually cast him as a brainy character]].
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Lost the role of Danny Walker in ''Film/PearlHarbor'' to Creator/JoshHartnett.
** Lost the lead role of Drew Baylor in ''Film/{{Elizabethtown}}'' to Creator/OrlandoBloom when Creator/CameronCrowe decided he wanted an actor that had a solid resume consisting of Theatre and Drama school training.
** Was considered for the role of Franchise/{{Batman}} in ''Film/BatmanBegins'', which eventually went to Creator/ChristianBale.
