3	Gerald Theron Campion, (23 April 1921 -- 9 July 2002), was a British actor best known for playing Billy Bunter in ''Billy Bunter of Greyfriars School''.

5	After winning a place at RADA when he was 15, he appeared in films and on TV.

7	His biggest role was Billy Bunter in ''Billy Bunter of Greyfriars School'' from 1952 to 1961. Bunter was a juvenile role, ironically played by Campion [[DawsonCasting who was 40 when the series ended]]. Campion later [[RoleReprise reprised the role]] in the radio series ''Whatever Happened to ...?''.

9	Some of his other notable roles were in the first ''Film/CarryOn'' film, ''Film/CarryOnSergeant'', and in 1979, he played a small role in the ''Series/DoctorWho'' serial, "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS17E6Shada Shada]]", a story which wasn't released in any form until 1992.
