[[folder:The Wishmere as a whole]]
!!In general
* CantStayNormal: After their transformation, the Wishmere decide that they cannot return back to high school given that they're all very different and have a responsibility being the last Wishmere to ever be created.
* {{Forgiveness}}: In a sign of true friendship, they easily forgive any transgressions done to them within the group: Duu Shen's walkout and Spritz's turn to the darkside.
* LocalHangout: The gang hangs out at their favorite place, Gardens Coffee Brew.
* OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent: Averted. They're all high school students with superpowers.
* SavingTheWorld: The Wishmere are tasked by Elreed with saving the world from Doubt.
* TookALevelInBadass: One moment they're students rushing off to the cafeteria for lunch, the next they're saving the world from an ancient demon threat.

-->''“Now you know what humans are capable of. Your reign of darkness is over, Doubt!”''

->'''Fighting Style:''' ''Martial Arts of the Phoenix''

->The main protagonist of the game. Orphaned at a young age due to his mother's illness and his father's disappearance, Earle lived with his Aunt Rosey. Known around Hazelroad High for being a lovable loser, Earle's life was thrown upside down when he was saved by Elreed. Accepting the call of fate to become a Wishmere, Earle becomes a superhuman fighter seeking justice for Doubt's crimes.

->Full of zeal and wonder, Earle rushes headlong into all battles, looking to do the right thing. He soon learns that he is the Chosen One and that Doubt killed his father, when his father returned for a second stint as a Wishmere when the then leader of the Wishmere died in battle against Doubt. When Doubt crashes the Nexus, [[spoiler: kidnaps Hanna and Spritz while leaving Safford beat up and Elreed for dead]], Earle has a crisis of conscience. Dove helps him pull it together and with Pandy's intel and Sabson's BatmanGambit, they willingly enter Doubt's trap.

->Earle defeats Doubt in the Shadow Plains, protected by Sabson's Mana Shield, breaking Doubt's never ending flow of energy and sealing him off for good. He has a brief reunion with his dead father as the Shadow Plains collapses. With the world saved, and the Wishmere looking out for big threats on the horizon, Earle and Dove enter a relationship.

-----

Tropes associated with Earle:

* BattleCouple: With Dove.
* BigEater: Eats anything in extreme portions. His personal record of gluttony is 31 bowls of chicken brisket!
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler: After discovery that Doubt killed his father, Earle bests Doubt in combat in a Mana Shield provided by Sabson in Doubt's own realm, ending Doubt's endless stream of energy and sealing him off for good.]]
* BigNo: [[spoiler: When Elreed is Demon Cursed by Doubt for the final time]].
* CharacterDevelopment: Starts out aimlessly wanting to be a hero who is secretly looking for answers. By the end of the game, he finds out the truth about his family and is forced to realize that he has been a hero all along, especially since his father set him on the path.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Sabson.
* ChosenOne: According to an ancient prophecy, he is destined to be the one to seal Doubt off for eternity. This doesn't sit too well with Duu Shen.
* CloseRangeCombatant: His moveset mostly consists of close range punches to the face.
* CompanionCube: Keeps a teddy bear, Mr. Hugs, given to him as a child for remembrance of his family.
* CriticalHit: His Edge gives him the ability to convert any of his next attacks into a critical hit.
* {{Determinator}}: One of the reasons why he's become the person he is. He fights bigger opponents than himself and where the odds appear to be against him.
** He lives by a quote from his Aunt Rosey: "There is no failure except giving up.”
* DisappearedDad: According to his mother and Aunt Rosey, his dad went missing when Earle was very young.
* FlungClothing: Throws a uniform away in his intro.
* GracefulLoser: When losing in Base of Darkness, most of his quotes show he accepts his loss and wants to improve himself.
* TheHeart: His main strength, even before becoming a Wishmere.
* HeroicBSOD: Suffers one when Doubt's men storm the Nexus, capturing Spritz and Hanna, while [[spoiler: Doubt defeats Elreed for what seems to be for good]]. He gets better with Dove's encouraging words, reminding him of who he has always been.
* HopeBringer: Dove mentions that he is this to the team, even if they don't mention it to him.
* IdiotHair: His ingame sprite more than the other artwork depicting him.
* JackOfAllStats: His gameplay is a very well rounded character who doesn't excel in anything, but has an answer for everything.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Sabson, whom he's been friends and neighbors with since childhood. Throughout the game, they're constantly praising each other.
* KamehameHadoken: His Ultimate Art has him create a beam of energy, evoking this trope.
* KiManipulation: Of the blue variant.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Gets this from Elreed and Dove. Doubt also gives him a cynical version of this when he discovers Earle wants to battle him one-on-one.
* {{Motifs}}: Phoenix and rebirth.
* NervesOfSteel: Fights Doubt in the Shadow Plains, a realm that empowers Doubt, and will instantly tear him and Sabson apart if Sabson's shield breaks, while looking to enact revenge for the death of his dad and at the same time looking to save the world. Not to mention that he and Sabson were not sure that Sabson's Mana Shield would protect them from the Shadow Plains' energy.
** Bonus points for one of his skills being called 'Nerves of Steel' too.
* NiceGuy: Never has a bad thing to say to anyone, even when they're putting him down or downright antagonizing him.
* OfficialCouple: With Dove. Though, it takes them until the end of the story for them to end up together. Plus, they're very shy about the matter.
* ParentalAbandonment: Lost both his parents at a young age, leaving him to be [[{{Nephewism}} raised by his Aunt Rosey]].
* RedOniBlueOni: Almost to a tee. The blue to Duu Shen's red. Duu Shen is loud, passionate and defiant in the face of authority. Earle is more level-headed, quiet and stoic.
* Revenge: Seeks revenge against Doubt for killing his father.
* TheRival: Duu Shen, both pre-Wishmere and during Wishmere.
* {{Shoryuken}}: His Super Art has him performing a jumping uppercut with blue ki.
* {{Shotoclone}}: As basic as Wishmere gets: has a ground projectile, an uppercut (though its a super).
* SpyCatsuit: His power suit is noticeably tight, possibly skintight, showing off his rippling muscles.
* TragicKeepsake: Both the teddy bear he received when he was a young boy and an old rare family photo of him and his parents together. [[TearJerker Earle is just a baby in the picture]].
* WarriorPoet: The most introspective of the team and very sentimental.
* WarriorTherapist: Does this during his Base of Darkness quotes and with [=McGavin=] in story mode.

[[caption-width-right:240:Dove]]

-->''“Evil has no place in this world! It's not just a fairy tale: good will always triumph!”''

->'''Fighting Style:''' ''Gladus Technique of Archery and Defense''

->One of the protagonists of the game. Dove is from an extremely rich family and once attended a private school. Wanting to see what she calls the real world, she asks her parents to send her to Hazelroad High. When Doubt attacks her high school, she and her friends are saved by Elreed, the God of Dreams. She and her friends become Wishmere, the protectors against Doubt and Dove becomes a magical archer.

->Naive but opinionated, Dove befriends a young six year old girl named Hanna is the ruins of her former school. Discovering that her parents have been killed, Dove cares for Hanna while serving as a Wishmere. When Spritz accidentally kills Narsus, one of Doubt's subordinates, when he was protecting Earle and Duu Shen, Dove fails to see that intricacies of good and evil. She is unconvinced of good and evil being complicated, criticizing Spritz. When Doubt breaks into the Nexus and breaks Earle's spirit, Dove reaches out to him and inspires him to be a hero, while both reveal their feelings for each other.

->When the team reunites in the sewers to save Hanna and Spritz, they realize that Spritz has fallen under Doubt's control. Spritz takes aim at Hanna and Dove, angered by her previous comments at him. She fights a brainwashed Spritz in a flurry of anger, coming close to ending his life but finally realizes the complexity of good and evil, and spares his life. After Doubt is defeated, she funds and opens up an orphanage to care for children.

* BigDamnHeroes: Takes on and defeats a brainwashed Spritz, who was deemed the one with the strongest potential by legendary warrior Safford, one-on-one. She then spares his life when he attempts to goad her into killing him.
* CharacterDevelopment: Originally thought of good and evil as being as simple as being 'black and white'. Once she realizes that even her friends (Spritz) can do bad things and become bad people, does she realize that morality isn't about actions or intent, it's about who you really are inside. It's made worse that the person she's forced to confront has hurt Hanna, a little girl put in her care.
* CuteBruiser: Lots of fancy flips and a case of hitting decently hard.
* DotingParent: Is a victim of this from her parents, as her mother has a tendency to call her while she's out fighting enemies.
* ForGreatJustice: Why she does the things she does.
* FriendToAllChildren: Is a caretaker of Hanna and she opens up an orphanage for children.

* {{Motifs}}: Birds and leaves.
* MustHaveCaffeine: Loves coffee and is a certified coffee taster.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Her blindly passing judgement on Spritz for [[spoiler: killing Narsus]] ends up biting her in the back, when he turns up [[spoiler: brainwashed]] and seems to be holding a grudge, wanting to destroy her.

* PurpleIsPowerful: The color of her bow and her magical arrow powers.
* SheFu: Flips, kicks and lots of twirling.
* SomethingAboutARose: In her victory pose, she shoots an arrow through a rose.
* SpoiledSweet: Parents are filthy rich and in the plantation industry. Dove used to attend a private prep school, but when she wanted to see how life was really like, she asked her parents to send her to Hzelroad High, a public school. She's naive, but very nice to (most) people.
* TeenGenius: Can speak 5 different languages, has a CGPA of 4.0 and is a Grade 10 piano player.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Has an affinity for vanilla ice cream and honey. If she loses in Base of Darkness, she looks to drown her sorrows in a tub of ice cream.

[[quoteright:172:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/duu_shen_img.png]]
[[caption-width-right:172:Duu Shen]]

-->''I'm the greatest hero the world has seen.''

->'''Fighting Style:''' ''A variant of Jeet Kune Do''

->One of the protagonists in the game. Flamboyant and a glory hound, Duu Shen is known to pick fights around Hazelroad High. He is called to the principal's office for a fight, where Principal Woods tells him that he must learn to live with others. Unfazed, Duu Shen resumes his way of life, but is thrown into panic when Doubt and his followers attack the school. Accepting the call of being a Wishmere, Duu Shen becomes a flashy kung fu crime fighter.

->When Earle is revealed to be the Chosen One, Duu Shen storms off to fight Narsus on his own. When his carelessness leads to potential danger, Earle saves Duu Shen's life. Their disagreement leaves them vulnerable and Spritz saves both their lives by killing Narsus. Fresh off being shamed and insulted, Duu Shen chides Elreed and leaves the team. In his solitude, he finds it within himself to share the world and realizes that he wants his friends to succeed and save the world, even if it were to be done without him.

->Duu Shen reunites with the team in the nick of time, saving Earle from [[spoiler: Evil Safford]] and evening the odds, allowing Earle to fight Doubt. Finally content with his place in the team, Duu Shen defeats [[spoiler: Evil Safford]] and tells him to stay away from his friends. Once the world is saved, Duu Shen becomes a professional basketball player and a team player.

-----

Tropes associated with Duu Shen:

* TheAce: Was this especially pre-transformation: natural charisma, athleticism and popular at school. He's naturally gifted at any sport, especially basketball, where he is the school's star player. Downplayed since transformation, and he struggles with it.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Boy, is he ever. Duu Shen has an over the top ego and has some fancy martial arts moves.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler: Comes back to the team and saves Earle's life, when he initially walked out on the team when they were told that Earle was the Chosen One.]]
* BodyCountCompetition: Does this with Earle regarding Doubt's bases, according to Base of Darkness quotes.
* BookDumb: Not too bright and he completely massacres some basic maths in his Base of Darkness quote.
* BringIt: His attitude, his pose during Fate Advance and even some of his taunts. The guy doesn't shy away from a challenge.
* CharacterDevelopment: Starts out as someone who loves the limelight, even at the expense of others. Principal Woods to tell him that he might want to learn how to share the world with others. This all comes to a head when Earle is revealed to be the Chosen One and Duu Shen runs off to the Ice Wasteland by himself, looking to prove himself to Elreed, the gang, destiny and maybe even himself, that he is the Chosen One. His arrogance and over-competitiveness puts the team in a rough situation, where [[spoiler: Spritz ends up killing Narsus to save his friends]]. Duu Shen does not like Earle interfering and leaves the team. In his time away, he discovers that he wants his friends to succeed more than he cares about the limelight, and returns to the team and saves Earle's life.
* ChickMagnet: Implied to be this with all the attention he gets from the opposite gender.
* DefeatingTheUndefeatable: Both Narsus and [[spoiler: Evil Safford]] are deemed to be undefeatable threats, but Duu Shen beats them both decisively.
* {{Delinquents}}: Constantly gets into physical fights at school and according to him, he has a 90% win rate.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Pandy makes a mention of this and he accidentally mentions this as well.
* HandsomeLech: Is a self-proclaimed ladies man, has two women accompany him to fights and act as his cheerleaders, keeps tabs on women's fashion (one guess why) and has a black book of what's implied to be women contacts.
* HotBlooded
* ItsAllAboutMe: Loves being the center of attention and believes that only he should be the best at anything he wants to be the best at.
* LightningBruiser: Very quick on his feet, his Edge has him performing a distance closing dash and he hits pretty damn hard.
* LonelyRichKid: Implied. He has no siblings and his parents have bought him his own apartment. Did we mention Duu Shen is in high school?
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: Duu Shen has his fair share of women related stories that he or others bring up.
* PlayingWithFire: His attacks set people on fire.
* RedOniBlueOni: To Earle's blue, even down to their attires.
* TheRival: Pre-transformation, he was a superstar basketball player but after becoming Wishmere, he views Earle as an obstacle to his greatness. And to an extent, [[spoiler: Safford]] serves as a rival to him as well.
* ScrewDestiny: When he finds out Earle is destined to be the Chosen One, he thinks Elreed is blind.
* {{Shoryuken}}: With fire!
* SmugSmiler: [[PerpetualSmiler Permanently has a smug grin on his face]]. Considering that he thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread, it's easy to see why.
* SoreLoser: Tends to throw tantrums and a volley of excuses when he loses, both in Versus Mode or in Base of Darkness Mode.
* TrademarkClothing: In any attire, he is never seen without his blue headband.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Likes wrestling and is a partner in crime of Pandy's to watch wrestling events.

->'''Fighting Style:''' ''Pandy's own made up fictional martial art she calls: Pandy-Fu''

->One of the protagonists in the game. Pandy is the self aware hero of the team, constantly breaking the fourth wall. She comes from a mysterious background, one that she doesn't speak about much. When Hazelroad High is under attack, she and her friends are saved by Elreed and accept his invitation to become Wishmere, the God of Dreams' royal guard. Pandy emerges as a vampire with a possessed sword.

->During her battles, she is slowly absorbed by her living sword. After Doubt's attack on the Nexus, the team is left in disarray, with Earle and Duu Shen quitting the team, while Spritz is captured and [[spoiler: Elreed is killed]]. Pandy volunteers to continue the team's mission on her own and fights Dr. Chaka in his space base. After her battle with Dr. Chaka, he reveals where Spritz and Hanna is being held, while Pandy engages in a battle of wits over control over her body with her sword. She manages to control the sword and returns back to the Nexus.

->With her intel on the location of Doubt's hidden sewers, Pandy and the team find a brainwashed Spritz and after a brief melee with him, he critically injures Hanna. Needing someone fast and finally letting her guard down, Pandy volunteers to bring Hanna to a medical facility and saves her life. After the world is saved, Pandy opts to become a vigilante, her thirst for battle still pumping.

Tropes associated with Pandy:

* AloofAlly: But she means well. We think.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Does this throughout the story and her quotes in Base of Darkness. She's well aware she's in a game and has certain expectations because of it.
* BloodKnight: Loves fighting and the thrill she gets so much that she continues to be a vigilante at the end of the story.
* BringIt: Her taunt has her throw her weapons to the floor and thrust her arms outwards, asking for a fight.
* CantStayNormal: Even when Doubt is defeated, she cannot resist the pull of cutting down criminals and bad guys, turning to a life of vigilantism on days the Wishmere are not needed.

* DeadpanSnarker: She quips at every given moment, uncomfortable moments or moments that are begging for a sarcastic quip.

* DistractedByTheSexy: Can't seem to stop mentioning Doubt's well styled hair.
* DivingKick: Has two of these.
* DramaticWind: Her scarf blows in the wind no matter what. She even [[BreakingTheFourthWall makes a reference to it in one of her Base of Darkness quotes]].

* FingerGun: Snaps her fingers and delivers the finger guns during one of her taunts.

* FriendlyNeighbourhoodVampire: Saves the world with the Wishmere all without even drinking a drop of blood.
* GamerChick: Plays a lot of video games and quite competitively against her brother.
* {{Hammerspace}}: Pulls out her sword and kunai out of no where.
* HeroesPreferSwords: Has a red katana that leaves red slashes. She also has a large personal sword collection.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Pandy never partakes in any praise or nice words in the group, while constantly making fun of the gang. When the going gets tough, she's caring enough to save others (like Hanna) from harm.
* JumpPhysics: She can triple jump ingame.
* MediumAwareness: Knows that she is in a game (and a fighting / beat 'em up no less), she thinks violence is acceptable and looks at conflict within characters as expected. In Base of Darkness, her win and lose quotes are full of this. She seems to imply that she knows the mechanics of the game and that there are upgrades ingame, forcibly blaming the player for not choosing the right ones if she loses.
* {{Ninja}}: Complete with NinjaRun.
* {{Otaku}}: Likes manga and anime a fair deal.

->'''Fighting Style:''' ''Instincts (which have been infused by the Magic of Mana)''

->One of the protagonists in the game. From a dark and troubled home life, Sabson is constantly bullied at school and is in need of Earle's help to fend off bullies. When Doubt and his followers attack Hazelroad High, he and his friends are saved by Elreed, the God of Dreams. Choosing to accept fate and become Wishmere, Sabson becomes a master magician.

->During Doubt's attack on the Nexus, Sabson battles Kyoko, one of Doubt's oldest subordinates. He goes to great lengths to acquire information from her and tortures her and learns that Doubt resides in a realm called the Shadow Plains, a place where humans cannot walk. Due to their loss in battle, the team is crippled and Earle's spirit is broken. Sabson leaves in silence to venture into the Shadow Plains. After a brief visit, he returns back to the Nexus and tells his friends he knows how to beat Doubt.

With Sabson's protection, Earle defeats Doubt and seals him off for good. After the battle, Sabson resumes watching out for threats to the world and finds it in himself to forgive all those who have bullied him.

-----

Tropes associated with Sabson:

* ADarkerMe: Out of the gang, he goes to great lengths to find out how to end the war with Doubt. He resorted to torturing Kyoko and keeping secrets from Earle as he traversed the Shadow Plains in secret, not knowing if he'd ever be coming back.
* AbusiveParents: Hinted to be a victim of this.
* BadassArmFold: Does this a lot. During his introduction pose and his unlockable taunts.
* BadassBookworm: Reads all kinds of books.
* BadassPacifist: Despises fighting and doesn't see the thrill of it, unlike some of his friends.
* BattleAura: Has this when he teleports or taps into some of his magic spells.
* BigScrewedUpFamily: In official materials, he is to have lots of siblings. Also, things at home are so bad that he tries very hard to stay out as often as he can, going as far as getting a part time job and staying out for extra curricular classes after school.
* BlowYouAway: Can create close ranged tornadoes.
* ButtMonkey: He's the butt of many of Pandy and Duu Shen's jokes, he gets bullied at the start of the game and he's made a lot of embarrassing mistakes when the gang were in school together.
* CatchPhrase: "Alrighty-booyaka", which is treated as a lame catchphrase in-universe.
* ChainLightning: Busts this out for his Super Art.
* CharacterDevelopment: At the beginning of the game, he's bullied and helpless. It takes Earle to defend him and constantly stick up for him as Sabson won't stick up for himself. After the transformation into Wishmere, Sabson starts to become more self confident and starts sticking up for his friends in the face of Doubt. By the end of the game, he has to protect Earle in a magical shield while in Doubt's Shadow Plains, and he learns to forgive the bullies who tormented him.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Earle.
* CounterAttack: Has tons of this in his arsenal, down to an Ultimate Art counter attack too.
* TheEngineer: Works as a phone repairman in his off time pre-transformation. Pretty damn good at his job too, as he can put a basic smartphone together in 15 seconds. Also likes tinkering with technology in his spare time.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Sabson goes from being a nerdy kid at school who is constantly bullied, to arguably one of the strongest people in the universe within seconds.
* TheGift: Was chosen by the energies to be a master magician.
* GuileHero: Outsmarts both Kyoko and Doubt in separate instances, leading to the end of Doubt's war.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Earle. Earle has saved Sabson from bullies 11 times in the year, Sabson is called Earle's "number one fan" by Duu Shen.
* KungFuWizard: While not exactly a flourished martial artist, Sabson can slay the smack down with his wizardry.
* LameComeback: Engages in a verbal fight against Kyoko, but ends up questioning every threat he says.
* MouthfulOfPi: He can recite Pi to the 57 places.
* NervesOfSteel: Leaves to the Shadow Plains in secret, looking to find a way to understand and put an end to Doubt's inevitable revival. Then managed to hold his Mana Shield while watching his best friend fight the Big Bad.
* ObliviousToLove: Is either ignorant or shy when it comes to Kyoko's advances on him. Though, they don't really get to spend too much time together.
* ShipperOnDeck: For Earle and Dove. Knows that they like each other and wants the two of them to admit it to each other.
* ShipTease: With Kyoko. He seems to take a liking to her and Pandy has even taken notice.
* ShockAndAwe: Uses electricity on some of his attacks.
* SkillGateCharacters: Much of Sabson's attacks are situational or slow. His attacks that are not slow or situational are counter attacks that have small counter windows, making him a character that takes time to get used to. Even his Edge requires some mastery (no pun intended) before it becomes effective.
* SociallyAwkwardHero: As he grew up bullied and not accustomed to interacting with people, Sabson can stumble through social situations. His humor (or attempts at humor) can be a little too awkward.
* SquishyWizard: Has relatively low health ingame.
* TimeMaster: Due to his rapidly progressing mastery over his magic, he can stop time dead in it's tracks. He used this on Kyoko as she attempted to flee and trapped her in time-stopped loop until he got Doubt's secret hideout location from her.
* ToBeAMaster: Sabson strives to master his new powers and learn everything he can about the world.
* TheWoobie: Terrible home life, bullied at school and constantly made fun of... nothing seems to go his way.

->One of the protagonists in the game. Spritz is a quiet and gentle giant, who rarely talks. From a bad background, Spritz prefers to not share the details of his past with his friends and instead enjoys the good times. After being saved by Elreed from Doubt's attack on Hazelroad High, Spritz becomes a Wishmere and transforms into a cyborg with incredible knowledge.

->When Earle and Duu Shen squabble in battle with Narsus, Spritz loses control and saves their lives, but kills Narsus in the process. Finally seeing what he can do, Spritz is told to stay out of the battlefield. The Nexus is suddenly attacked, with [[spoiler: Elreed dying]] and Spritz and Hanna captured. Spritz falls victim to Doubt's mind control and believes in his doctrine. Together with Doubt and a kidnapped Hanna, they await the arrival of the Wishmere in the Halcyon Sewers.

->When the Wishmere arrive, Spritz lashes out and attacks Hanna and takes aim at Dove, whom had passed judgement on him for his mistake. He is defeated by Dove and shakes off Doubt's mind control when Doubt is killed by Earle. Though ashamed, Spritz is easily forgiven by his friends and he pledges to watch over Elreed and the Nexus in atonement.

Tropes associated with Spritz:

* {{Angst}}: Oh, so much. Just look at his Base of Darkness quotes.
* TheAtoner: At the end of the game, his temper and inner demons leads him to fall prey to Doubt's mind control. He says and does some bad things to his best friends because of it and now seeks to atone for his mistakes and weakness by protecting the place where it all started: the Nexus.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Taken under Doubt's control after the Nexus falls to Doubt's attack. But Spritz gets better.
* CharacterDevelopment: In the early parts of the game, he's largely silent and hardly speaks. When he is forced to train against Safford, he is combative and reclusive. Then [[spoiler: he accidentally kills Narsus]] and is taken hostage at the end of the fight at the Nexus. He's revealed to have fallen under Doubt's mind control and the worst parts of him come out, believing that his friends never liked him and are only there to save Hanna. After Doubt is defeated, his control over Spritz wears off, and Spritz asks his friends for forgiveness and is blown away that they forgive him easily. Spritz then looks to atone for his past transgressions by keeping watch over the Nexus and [[spoiler: Elreed's comatose body]].
* CloseRangeCombatant: Is the only grappler in the game.
* {{Cyborg}}
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Hinted at having a "complicated" life at home and doesn't seem to speak much. He harbors some resentment and anger for events we're never told, but in the official materials, we're told that he is a victim of bullying and even got saved by Earle, where a bully was once going to run Spritz over with his bike!
* EnemyScan: He knows his opponent's moves even before they fight.
* EyesAlwaysShut: Always, for both his human and cyborg form. He only opens his eyes during his Fate Break and for one of his taunts.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: [[spoiler: While training, Safford is very interested in Spritz's power. In the end, it was revealed that Safford was scouting the Wishmere for their strongest fighter as per Doubt's wishes]]
* FullFrontalAssault: Doesn't wear any clothes once he becomes a cyborg. But he [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything doesn't seem to have any genitals showing though]].
* GentleGiant: Or so it seems. Cracks start to show as the game progresses.
* GrappleMove: Has three grab moves.
* HeadphonesEqualIsolation: Loves listening to music, and post-transformation, he has a music player built into his head by the looks of his taunt.
* InformedAbility: We're told that he is very strong and [[spoiler: Safford chooses him as Doubt's pawn]], but we never see the extent of his strength.
* KickTheDog: [[WouldHurtAChild Attacks a 6 year old girl]], Hanna when he's evil, injuring her.

->The main antagonist of the game. A powerful demon that is known as the Voice of Evil, destined to be reborn every 15 years. Powered by the souls of the dead in a personal realm known as the Shadow Plains, Doubt has an endless lifespan due to being recharged when he is defeated. Doubt has been battling Elreed, the God of Dreams for centuries. Vying to end the world, Doubt has killed several heroes and Wishmere that Elreed has worked with throughout time. 15 years before the game begins, Doubt kills Duncan, Earle's father, but is also defeated by Duncan in the process.

->Returning again, Doubt is [[spoiler: confronted by Safford, whom he kills and reincarnates under his control to spy on the Wishmere.]] Biding his time and waiting for the Wishmere to unravel, Doubt bolsters his forces and sends his trusted subordinate, Kyoko to invade the Nexus, the Wishmere's secret headquarters. Finally [[spoiler:casting a curse on Elreed and ending his life]], Doubt takes Spritz captive and Hanna as insurance. He mind controls Spritz into doing his bidding, looking for the straw to break the Wishmere.

->Meeting the Wishmere in the Halcyon Sewers with an evil Spritz and an ace up his sleeve [[spoiler:(Evil Safford)]], Doubt intends for them to implode and pick apart the pieces. 346* BadassArmFold: Does this during his air throw and in his CPU-only teleport offscreen.
* BadassLongcoat: Wears a greyish blue coat which billows in the wind.
* BadBoss: His Base of Darkness quotes imply his soldiers think of him this way.
%%* BeautyIsBad: The big bad in the game and he's not that bad looking of a guy.

* ColorMotifs: Dark purple, as it is the color of his dark energy.
* CombatPragmatist: Prefers to fight his battles that are already half fought or with a sneak attack, or even barely even getting involved in them.
%%* DarkIsEvil: Quite literally.
* DeadpanSnarker: Makes sense, as his favorite past time seems to be talking.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Constantly puts down the spiel of the good guys. He makes a mention that he's heard this kind of talk for centuries, but he still doesn't understand it.
%%* EvilCounterpart: Elreed states that Doubt is this to him.
%%* EvilLaugh
* FatalFlaw: Never seems to adapt his strategy, even after centuries. It's his arrogance and belief that his source of power will never be found out that costs him his life. Constant reincarnation and 'winning' might do that to you though.
* GlassCannon: Ha some really strong offense, but he has really low health.
* KickTheDog: Has a couple of moments.
** Killing a begging [=McGavin=] when he failed to kill the Wishmere.
** Using Hanna as bait for the Wishmere to meet him in the sewers.
** Pie faced Earle with the knowledge of murdering his dad to goad him and drop his guard.
* LongRangeFighter: He can fight up close, but he's much better from far away, where he can dictate the pace of the match.
* ManipulativeBastard: Every event and how the chessboard is set in the game is a result of his doing. It's arguable whether or not his followers ([=McGavin=], Kyoko, Narsus and Dr. Chaka) are under his mind control spell or whether they are charmed by him. Kyoko seems to have acted against him and consciously, so it's likely that he knows how to get into the mind of his subordinates and his promises sound too good to pass up to them.
* MindRape: The way he brainwashes his victims.
* PreMortemOneLiner: His "What's a puppet without it's puppeteer?" after he [[spoiler: Demon Curses Elreed for the last time]].
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Gives this to the Wishmere when he reveals a brainwashed Spritz.

* ShroudedInMyth: Elreed and every villain speaks of the endless evil things he has done.
* ShutUpHannibal: Has this done to him by Sabson at the start of the game's conclusion.
* SNKBoss: Final boss Doubt has some pretty cheap attacks and strategies.
* SoreLoser: Implied to be this if you beat him at his favorite board game, Chutes & Ladders, according to his Base of Darkness quotes.
