-->'''Voiced by:''' Ryu Manatsu
A Ultra warrior hailing from the planet L77 (whereas all other Ultras are from M78), Ultraman Leo's homeworld was destroyed by the Alien Magma and twin kaiju called the Gilas Brothers, so he came to Earth in the guise of a human named Gen Ohtori and trained under Ultraseven, becoming a skilled martial artist more reliant on his physical capabilities than most Ultra heroes. Ultraman Leo has also reappeared in other series, and most notably, is the mentor of Ultraseven's own son Franchise/UltramanZero.
----
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: The first episode of ''Ultraman Regulos'' reveals that Leo is this towards the titular Ultraman. When Leo bests Regulos in their sparring practice, Regulos claims that Leo has beaten him for 15 matches total, without Regulos winning even a single fight. Please note this is the Leo before the TV series when he have yet gone through the training and tribulations on Earth
* AnimalMotifs: Lions. His theme song has the verse "The eye of the lion is shining" and a lion's head is used to symbolize L77.
* BadassCape: By the time Ultraman Mebius came along, the Showa Ultramen back in M-78 began wearing long flowing capes. The change was confirmed in ''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends''. On Earth, he briefly got the Ultra Mantle from Ultraman King.
* BareFistedMonk: The Ultraman equivalent of one, as Leo relies almost entirely on unarmed melee combat as opposed to flashier beam attacks used by most other Ultra heroes.
* BigBrotherInstinct: So much that he was willing to fight the Ultra Brothers to defend Astra when the latter was accused of stealing the Ultra Key from the Land of Light (which turned out to be Alien Babalou in disguise).
* BigDamnHeroes: In his first appearance (other than the opening sequence), his burning foot landed on Alien Magma's chest and he kept on fighting Magma and the Gillas monsters after that, saving a wounded Ultraseven.
* ChestBlaster: Much like Ultraman Ace before him, one of Leo's secondary attacks is an energy beam fired from his chest timer.
* CombinationAttack: The Ultra Double Flasher, executed in tandem with Astra, when Leo and Astra combine their beams together into a concentrated, powerful red energy beam capable of taking down even the strongest of monsters. Later in the series, Leo is revealed to be capable of performing this with his student, Ultraman Zero too.
* CreateYourOwnHero: If Alien Magma and his twin monsters hadn't attacked L-77 or Earth, Leo wouldn't have become a warrior.
* DisneyDeath:
** A family-unfriendly demise at the hands of Bunyo and Commander Black. He got better.
** A shorter one at the end of Episode 3 when a giant Alien Tsuruk attacked.
* DivingKick: His signature FinishingMove is the Leo Kick, created as a friendly nod towards ''Franchise/KamenRider''.
* ElementalPunch: Variant. Leo is able to encase his karate chops in fiery energy for some truly devastating attacks that usually end with a monster get a body part lopped off.
* HandBlast: While Leo is better known for his usage of his own bare hands, he does get a few minor ones later on in the series.
* HornedHumanoid: One of the few Ultramen with horns.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: His arsenal includes an umbrella and a crystal ball.
* LastOfHisKind: He thought he was this, until Astra appeared.
* MeaningfulName: Name after the constellation of Leo, the lion, in which L77 is located in.
* MyGreatestFailure: Leo had to escape the destruction of L-77 after failing to save his brother Astra. Subverted after Astra arrived on Earth, and together they fought many aliens and monsters.
* PantheraAwesome: As stated above, lions form his major motif.
* ParasolOfPain: The Leo-brella weapon serves this purpose.
* RedIsHeroic: He, Astra, and Ultraseven.
* RookieRedRanger: He's a newcomer both as an Ultraman (no combat experience) and as a human (the latest member of MAC).
* SpinAttack: Able to perform spinning kick attacks powerful enough to knock the heads of his opponents' bodies.
* SuperStrength: Even by the standards of the Ultramen, Leo's physical power is unmatched, thanks to years of TrainingFromHell.
* SwissArmyWeapon: The Ultra Mantle, which he carries on his left arm in the form of a bracelet. A gift from Ultraman King originally used to defeat the alien wizard Pressure.
* TrainingFromHell: Put through all sorts of it to become the skilled martial artist he is today.
* WarriorPrince: He was a prince back on his homeworld.

[[folder:Astra]]
!!Astra
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/astra.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Ryu Manatsu (stock grunts), Chikara Osaka ([[Series/UltramanGinga Ultra Fight Victory]] onwards)
Ultraman Leo's younger twin brother, who was initially presumed dead after the destruction of L77, but reappears to assist Leo against the monster brothers Gallon and Litre. He returns to assist Leo many more times in the series and often appears alongside Leo in other series too.
----
* BigDamnHeroes: Saves the day in his first appearance, taking on Gallon and Litre along with Leo.
* CombinationAttack: He and Leo often perform these, with the most notable being the Ultra Double Flasher, a beam of red lightning fired with Leo standing behind a kneeling Astra.
* DarkAndTroubledPast : He barely survived the destruction of L77, and was captured and imprisoned by the Alien Magma, who tortured and enslaved him. It was only the intervention of Ultraman King that got him out of it, and only from King did he learn that his brother had survived.
* DeusExMachina: His role in ''Series/UltramanLeo''. He'd always appears suddenly during a battle to help Leo against whatever the monster was giving his older brother trouble, like Gallon and Litre, Alien Akumania, Alien Atlanta, and Hangler.
* DisneyDeath: Leo failed to save him during Alien Magma's destruction of L-77. He turns up alive on Earth to save his brother from Gallon and Litre.
* DivingKick: Has his own version of the Leo Kick called the Astra Kick.
* FacialHorror: Downplayed, but due to the torture at the hands of Alien Magma, Astra has asymmetrical eyes, and a lightly parted lower left mouth. Unlike other Ultras such as Jack, this is still retained in his modern appearances, which shows it isn't just a result of the limited budget during the Showa era.
* HandBlast: He uses beam attacks a lot more than Leo does.
* MeaningfulName: His name is Latin for "star".
* TheQuietOne: He never said anything in the entire series, only gaining his first speaking role some '''40''' years later.
* SiblingTeam: While they only occasionally worked together in the series, later ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' almost always have Astra and Leo together, like in ''[[Series/UltramanGinga Ultra Fight Victory]]'' and ''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends''.
* SlaveCollar: Variant. He wears one around his left leg -- the only external remnant of the time he spent as a slave of the Alien Magma.
* TwinDesynch: As a result of his time spent as a prisoner of the Alien Magma, Astra has become fairly different from Leo. Notably, Astra used to have horns, but they were sawed off by the Alien Magma.

[[folder:Ultraman King]]
!!Ultraman King
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultraman_king.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Motomu Kiyokawa (''Ultraman Leo'' and ''Series/UltramanMebius''), Junichiro Koizumi (''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends''), Creator/NobuyukiHiyama (''Series/UltramanGeed''), Masao Nakasone (stock grunts, since ''Franchise/UltramanZero: The Chronicle'')
The most powerful Ultraman in existence and a virtual god amongst the Ultras, Ultraman King is a reclusive and mysterious hermit who resides on a Zen Garden-like planet near [=M78=] where he is its sole inhabitant. He most often appears in times of serious crisis when all seems completely lost against forces of evil. King is supposedly one of the oldest living Ultras, and in the series' lore was around ''before'' the Plasma Spark existed, thus making him one of, if not the only inhabitant of the Land of Light to possess memories of what life was like before the planet's star died, necessitating the construction of the Spark.
----
* AppealToWorseProblems: In Episode 39, he admonished the Ultra Brothers for fighting with Leo and reminded them of the imminent collision of the Ultra planet with Earth.
* BadassCape: His Ultra Mantle, which can transform into anything he wishes and can even deflect attacks. He gave it to Leo for the series, but got it back afterwards.
* DeusExMachina: His role in ''Series/UltramanLeo'' is to make sure the day can be saved whenever things seem totally hopeless. He does against Alien Pressure (when Leo is shrunken down by the wizard), Alien Babalou (revealing him to be disguised as Astra to end the conflict between the Leo Brothers and Ultra Brothers), and Alien Bunyo (when Bunyo and Commander Black chop Leo into pieces).
* GodzillaThreshold: He only gets involved in the Ultra warriors' battles if there is no other way for whatever crisis they are facing to be solved, such as the Land of Light about to collide with Earth while the Ultra and Leo Brothers are engaged in in-fighting or Ultraman Belial successfully activating a weapon capable of destroying the universe.
* GreaterScopeParagon: He's the greatest force for good of the entire ''Franchise/UltraSeries'', although since he's a hermit, the [[Series/UltramanAce Father of Ultra]] tends to fill in the more active needs of the BigGood role.
* HermitGuru: Usually lives as one, spending his time meditating and observing the Space Garrison from an isolated planet. In fact, no Ultra had ever seen King until Leo's battle against Alien Pressure forced him to make an appearance.
* IHaveManyNames: He tells this to [[Series/UltramanMebius Ultraman Hikari]] in the ''[[Series/UltramanMebiusGaiden Hikari Saga]]'' Gaiden, saying that "Ultraman King" is simply what humans have given him.
* MysteriousPast: It's known that the Ultras developed their powers from the Plasma Spark, but Ultraman King was ''already'' an Ultra long before that and his origin is unknown. Only Series/UltramanNexus is more ancient than him.
* NonIndicativeName: Despite his given title of "king", Ultraman King isn't actually the ruler of the Land of Light. It just befits his incredible power.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: He's the only good Ultra with red eyes.
* TheOmnipotent: His powers are virtually infinite and he's regarded as all powerful, and more than backs up that claim. He's capable of effortlessly bring back a dismembered Leo to life and [[CurbstompBattle curbstomped the immensely powerful Ultraman Belial]], then created the Land of Light's moon ''around'' him to seal him away. In ''Series/UltramanGeed'', he ''recreates the freaking universe''.
* PhysicalGod: When a species of immensely strong, 50 meter tall energy beings considers you their deity, you have to be this.
* TimeAbyss: In keeping with the longevity of his kind, though He predates the Plasma Spark, and is at LEAST 300,000 years old, probably older.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Ultra Brothers]]
!! The Ultra Brothers
The previous team of Ultramen (sans [[Series/UltramanTaro Taro]], for reasons unexplained) who defended Earth prior to Leo's arrival shows up in this series as well. While Ultraseven returns as the Captain of MAC (see Humans Folder), having lost his powers to transform thanks to being critically injured by the Gillas Brothers, the other Ultras, consisting of [[Series/{{Ultraman}} Ultraman, Zoffy]], [[Series/ReturnOfUltraman Jack]] and [[Series/UltramanAce Ace]] made occasional appearances, Jack showing up halfway to deliver Ultraseven's Ultra Eye back to M78 for repairs, and later the quartet all arriving on Earth to pursue the stolen Ultra Key.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: Jack in "Ultra Brothers, Eternal Vows", when he returns to Earth in order to have Ultraseven's Ultra Eye fixed. The episode even gives a brief recap of Jack's backgroud early in (in the form of StockFootage from Series/ReturnOfUltraman) and playing Jack's theme early in the show.
* BadassBiker: Jack, while stranded in his human form as Hideki Go, does some cool stunts on a motorbike, speeding through Ashuran's rampage to deliver the Sevenger capsule to Moroboshi.
* BadassInDistress: Jack in the episode he guest-starred in, after getting choked by Ashuran and crashing on Earth.
* BigDamnHeroes: Ultraman Jack arriving in the middle of the eclipse to help Ultraman Leo battle Ashuran, the two Ultras tearing the demonic kaiju a new hole. Cue much rejoicing from Jack's fans.
* CombinationAttack: Ultraman Jack and Ultraman Leo defeats Ashuran in this manner, both Ultras landing a kick on ''both'' sides of the monster.
* DemotedToExtra: While Jack gets an episode where he gets to shine, the others... not so much. Their parts in the Alien Babalou two-parter pretty much amounts to a glorified cameo, with the great Ultraman King revealing Astra to be a disguised Alien Babalou and then having Leo and the released Astra fixing the mess started by the alien.
* TheGuardsMustBeCrazy: The four brothers somehow falls under this at the start of the Alien Babalou two-parter. Considering the Key is needed to prevent M78 from falling out of orbit and is a powerful weapon enough to destroy ''planets'' by it's wielder, when the Key gets stolen by Alien Babalou somehow all four of the brothers are in a ''separate room'' (instead of having at least one of them watching over the key at all times...), only coming out after Babalou-as-Astra had left with the Key. Maybe the quartet are on their lunch break and are playing cards when the theft happens...
* HandSignals: Jack, while stuck in his human form as Hideki with his mouth gagged and unable to speak, tries communicating with MAC with this method that he's looking for Sevengar's dropped capsule and that he's related to their Captain Dan Moroboshi. It... doesn't really work.
* InjuredLimbEpisode: Much like Ultraseven / Dan Moroboshi in the pilot, Ultraman Jack in the episode he guest-starred in gets his hand broken by Ashuran, where in his human form as Hideki he's seen with his left hand bandaged while recovering. Thankfully the injury isn't nearly as severe, enough for Hideki to transform into Ultraman Jack and assist Leo in the episode's penultimate battle.
* MacGuffinDeliveryService: Jack's role in the episode he guest-stars, which is to deliver Ashuran's capsule to Dan Moroboshi, and then taking Moroboshi's Ultra Eye back to M78 to be fixed.
* UnwittingPawn: All the brothers ends up being this to Alien Babalou, whom had disguised himself as Astra, manipulating the brothers into fighting Leo.
* WakingUpElsewhere: After his battle against Ashuran on the Moon goes south, Jack ends up crashing on Earth... and then waking up on a beach. With his mouth ''gagged'' and unable to speak.
* TheWorfEffect: Jack getting beated up by Ashuran en route to Earth serves to establish the alien demon as a legitimate threat. As Ashuran shows up near the end of the episode - during an eclipse, no less, where it's powers will be multiplied by the darkness - Jack quickly backs up Leo, knowing how powerful the demon is.

-->'''Played by:''' Ryu Manatsu
Ultraman Leo's human form. Gen works at Jounan Sports Center, but also serves in the series' attack team MAC. Throughout the series, he hones his skills as a warrior under Dan Moroboshi while also acting as an older brother and father to Tooru and Kaoru Umeda. He transforms into Ultraman Leo via the Leo Ring he wears on his left hand.
----
* AllLovingHero: Loves Earth and its people, and is even shown to be merciful towards opponents who truly deserve it despite his harsher and more brutal fighting style.
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: To his teammates, who are angry with him all the time and treat him with disdain.
* BadassCape: He, Dan Moroboshi, Hideki Goh, and Shin Hayata wore capes in ''Film/UltramanSaga''.
* BadassNormal: A subversion: That's just his secret identity as a gifted gymnast and martial artist.
* BoxingLessonsForSuperman: Already a badass martial artist, his TrainingFromHell allowed him to better defeat monsters as Ultraman Leo.
* ButNowIMustGo: He takes off sailing at the end.
* ButtMonkey: When his teammates aren't on his case, it's the Captain. Gets hurt often, too, especially during training.
* CharacterAgedWithTheActor: Manatsu has played Gen until the present day.
* CharacterDevelopment: Starts out as a hotheaded fool who charged into battle without thinking twice and got beaten up often as a result, after enough training sessions and much later being left on his own he manages to overcome this flaw and truly realizes his potential as a leader and fighter to the point of training a group of children to be the next generation of Earth's defenders successfully.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: After a whole series of losing basically all but his sanity to the kaiju threats and alien attacks he finally gets to have his peace after defeating the Black Saucer kaiju, destroying their source and having his child students avenge all of the victims of Black Directive by killing him. By the end of the series, he goes WalkingTheEarth on his own terms.
* FriendToAllChildren: He teaches martial arts to children and spend his time off with Tooru and Kaoru.
* TheHero: He turns into Ultraman Leo, ...
* HumanAliens: or rather, he ''is'' Leo in disguise.
* ItsPersonal: The reason he wants to fight Alien Magma and the Gillas Brothers. Also, an incentive to eliminate Commander Black.
* MeaningfulName: "Ootori" means ''phoenix'', reflecting his rebirth as a human (and emergence as an Ultra warrior) after the destruction of his home world.
* MoreThanJustATeacher: Works as a gym coach and tutor at times of peace.
* NiceGuy: His teammates may be assholes and his captain doesn't cut him much slack, but he's nice anyway.
* ParentalSubstitute: To Tooru and Kaoru.
* ThePhoenix: He was "reborn" from the destruction of L-77 as Gen ''Ootori''
* RookieRedRanger: A "civilian" who joined MAC after saving its captain. Also, an UnskilledButStrong Ultraman.
* SoleSurvivor: The only active MAC member to survive Silver Bloome's assault, Moroboshi technically did but had to be restored to life by Mother of Ultra
* TookALevelInBadass: Due to his TrainingFromHell and personal tragedy.
* TrainingFromHell: From grueling martial arts practice to even getting assaulted, all to prepare him for a future encounter with a kaiju or hostile alien.
* TransformationTrinket: The Leo Ring.
* TheUnfettered: Wants to fight alien threats before considering the risk involved or having the right skills. He was a bit HotBlooded, too.
* WalkingTheEarth: At the end of the final episode, he bid his friends farewell to travel the world.
* YouKilledMyFather: Alien Magma killed his family on L-77.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Captain Moroboshi]]
!!Captain [[Series/UltraSeven Dan Moroboshi]]
-->'''Played by:''' Kohji Moritsugu
The human form of Series/UltraSeven, who has been rendered unable to transform after the Gilas Brothers crippled him and damaged his Ultra Eye. He is Gen's mentor and captain of MAC, but his injuries has left him bitter and harsh. He can also use his psychokinetic abilities to assist Ultraman Leo when necessary at a great cost to his health.
----
See Characters/UltraSeven for tropes applying to Dan Moroboshi in general

* BadassTeacher: Fulfills this role for Leo/Gen Ohtori for much of the series.
* BroughtDownToBadass: He's Ultraseven stripped of his transformation abilities, but can still kick ass in his human form.
* HandicappedBadass: His leg is broken thanks to losing a battle to the Gillas Brothers. Doesn't stop him from leading a team of officers in fighting alien intruders. How badass is he? He fought a human-sized Alien Tsuruk, who sliced two men in half, to a draw. At the same time, Gen was knocked unconscious.
* InjuredLimbEpisode: Spends much of the series in crutches.
* SadistTeacher: Have shades of this during the training he dishes out on Gen.
* TrainingFromHell: Regularly subjects Gen Otori through these in order to train him to be stronger.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: He'll call out Gen or Captain Dan, stand up for Kaoru, or even [[spoiler:kill Commander Black with the help of his friends]], if necessary.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Toward Kaoru, part of this CharacterDevelopment.
* ButtMonkey: Orphaned, his first foster parent murdered, his life constantly in peril due to alien threats (some of which involved his sister), scared, lonely...
* ChekhovsGunman: [[spoiler:Who knew Commander Black could be defeated by children?]]

----
* ButtMonkey: Pretty much all that happened to Tooru, plus [[IWantMyMommy she especially misses her mom]].
* TheCutie: Being the younger of the two major child characters, the first episode has an extended scene of her bonding with Gen, her singing while Gen plays his guitar. Later episodes shows her loving puppies and frequently caring for her brother and serving as the emotional center for most of the film, which [[spoiler: makes her fate in episode 40 even more horrifying]].
* DeathOfAChild: [[spoiler:Died under the rubble of a store building along with Momoko and Takeshi during Silver Bloom's first attack on Japan]].
* DisappearedDad: Same deal as her brother.
* GenkiGirl: Cheerful most of the time.
* IWantMyMommy: She threw a tantrum in Episode 10 because she was the only little girl around without a mother. Momoko slapped her for being a brat. She got better.
** Later, an alien from a mirror dimension, under the guise of Kaoru's dead mother, abducted her. Kaoru thought she was rejoining her mother, that is, until the alien tried to harm her.
* KillTheCutie: As of today, [[spoiler: poor Kaoru remains the ''only'' major child character to die permanently in the Ultra Series]].
* MissingMom: Again, same deal as her brother.

----
* PluckyComicRelief: He's there to react to events happening around him.
* ShooOutTheClowns: He's not seen or heard from after the halfway point, so he may have missed the mayhem the Commander Black caused after his arrival.
* SkewedPriorities: Gets distracted by other things, like his Pachinko earnings, when he needs to RUN LIKE HELL instead.

The series' attack team, which Gen is a member and Dan is the leader of. Unlike other Ultra series, the rest of the team is virtually nameless as members tend to get killed off quite regularly by the weekly invading aliens and rampaging kaiju.
----
* RedShirt: Most of MAC is composed of nameless members that get killed off to show a threat's power and deadliness.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Various members vanish from the series without warning, making it unknown if they were KilledOffscreen in an attack, moved to a different branch of MAC or quit before Silver Bloome's attack.

* ParentalSubstitute: Tooru found a mother in Mrs. Miyama
* ThePowerOfFriendship: He took in to two orphaned boys and treated them the same or better than her own flesh and blood. Also, she had a way of reaching Tooru when he was despairing, sad, or even when he was possessed by Nova (in that case, she even put her life on the line to save him).
* RememberTheNewGuy: First appeared in Episode 40, but she recognized Gen and Tooru from before.

-->'''First Appearance''': The Death of [[Series/UltraSeven Seven]]! Tokyo Sinks!
One of the brutal race that destroyed Ultraman Leo's homeworld at the beginning of the series, Alien Magma set his eyes on Earth with his monster lackeys, the Gilas Brothers, to devastate cities with the monsters' tsunami-creating powers and defeat Ultraseven. Another one, the first ones younger brother would appear in Episode 28 when he attempted to marry the bird-like alien Rolan, coming face-to-face with Ultraman Leo.

Alien Magma has appeared several more times in the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'', due to being one of Ultraman Leo's most popular and iconic enemies, as well as for the major impact he carried for Leo in the background of his own series. The hairstyle, eye colour, and weaponry have also changed a number of times over the course of the franchise, but he remains as a fierce foe for any Ultra hero who goes up against him.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: The seconed one to Rolan in "The Monster's Favor".
* {{Archenemy}}: To Ultraman Leo, for destroying the hero's homeworld at the start of the series.
* BreakoutVillain: Ranks among Ultraman Leo's most iconic foes and has reappeared several times in the franchise against other Ultramen.
* CatFolk: His species, as evidenced by the cat-like ears and leonine hair.
* HandBlast: Can fire a variety of energy bolts from his hands, including a blue laser and finger bolts. One of those attacks, and not necessarily the broken leg, may have crippled Ultraseven.
* IfICantHaveYou: Rolan rejected the seconed one's advances, so he turned on her.
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler:Leo killed the seconed one with one of Rolan's pinwheels, made from her feathers.]]
* KnightOfCerebus: Alien Magma shows off right from the start that ''Series/UltramanLeo'' is nothing like the wacky ''Series/UltramanTaro'' by defeating Ultraseven and successfully sinking an island-city with the help of the Gilas Brothers.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: One of the very few alien/monster designs that show the part of the real actor, being its mouth and eyes. The species' second appearance would drop this but every other appearance but stick with the original design.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: His hands are able to transform at will into a lance-like sword called a Pata for combat. In later incarnations, he can also transform them into a hook.
** BladeBelowTheShoulder: Typically his right hand, which can also fire a laser from its tip if needed.
** HookHand: Typically his left hand, which can also be launched out with a grappling chain.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Although they're really only the MonsterOfTheWeek in a total of three episodes, his species' actions are important to Ultraman Leo's backstory.
* StarterVillainStays: Sort of. While the first one dosen't appear again after its initial defeat, his younger brother appear later on.
* VillainDecay: In the species reappearance. they've gone from sinking an island, flooding Tokyo, crippling Ultraseven, and destroying Leo's homeworld, to harassing children for their toy fans and trying to marry some bird alien. Justified, in the fact that it was a different individual.
* VillainExitStageLeft: [[spoiler:He runs away after the Gilas Brothers are killed and vanishes and is never seen again.]]
* TheVoiceless: Never speaks or makes a noise during his appearances.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Despite his importance, the original Alien Magma just leave after being beaten, and never comes back, with every Alien Magma afterword being a different individual.
* TheWorfEffect: He and the Gilas Brothers defeat Ultraseven at the start of the series, showing exactly the direction of the series, as well as Magma's ruthlessness.
* WouldHurtAChild: In "The Monster's Favor", The seconed one attacked any child who had one of Rolan's pinwheels.

!!Gilas Brothers
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/giras_brothers.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Death of Seven! Tokyo Sinks!
Alien Magma's twin monster lackeys, who specialize in creating devastating floods and storms, as well as using tag team abilities, which Gen had to train against. They also successfully crippled Series/{{Ultraseven}} at the start of the series, forcing him to remain in the form of Dan Moroboshi for the rest of the show.
----
* AttackReflector: Both brothers can lock hands together and spin themselves rapidly to reflect all attacks against them.
* CombinationAttack: All the Gilas Brothers' powers are based around this, particularly their SpinAttack, which allows them to spam their laser bolts and create a powerful electrified force field. Gen had to train against these powers too.
* CoDragons: As Alien Magma's henchmen.
* TheDividual: It's nigh impossible to treat them as separate monsters due to how closely tied with each other they are.
* TheDragon: Both of them are Alien Magma's loyal monster minions and do most of the dirty work for him.
* HornAttack: Both brothers can shoot lasers from their horns.
* MakingASplash: The Gilas Brothers can conjure tsunamis to flood cities and sink islands.
* OffWithHisHead: [[spoiler:The fates of both.]]
* SmallRoleBigImpact: They are only the MonsterOfTheWeek of the series' first two episodes and never return afterwards, but their actions are the reason for Dan's condition throughout the show.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Also known as the Giras or Gillas Brothers.
* SpinAttack: Their AttackReflector allows them to do this as well by firing energy beams as they spin about.
* StarterVillain: They were the first foes that Ultraman Leo had to train himself against.
* TagTeamTwins: They do all their combat and always use their powers together.
* WeatherManipulation: They can create torrential rainstorms and hurricanes.
* TheWorfEffect: They break Ultraseven's leg, costing him his ability to transform and forcing him to remain as Dan Moroboshi for the remainder of the show.

[[caption-width-right:240:Kaiju Form]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Farewell to Tears
A ruthless swordsman from outer space who murdered Tooru and Kaoru's father (an MAC officer), bringing them under the care of Gen and Momoko. Gen had to train against Tsuruk's deadly wrist blades that granted the evil alien his lethal swordsmanship skills.
----
* AnArmAndALeg: Loses both his arms to Ultraman Leo.
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: His weapon of choice is a pair of long swords built into his wrists, which Gen had to figure out how to overcome.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: Alien Tsuruk is the first in a long line of Aliens with no motivation for attacking earth except for making Leo's life a living hell.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:Leo kills him by tearing off his arms and stabbing him with their wrist blades.]]
* KarmicDeath: He's an alien murderer who delights in using his arm blades to slice several people to death, so fittingly enough [[spoiler: he ends up getting stabbed to death by his own severed arm blades]].
* KickTheDog: Murders Tooru and Kaoru's dad right in front of them. The two kids are adopted by another MAC officer, but then Tsuruk murders him as well.
* MasterSwordsman: A murderous blademaster whose swiftness and brutality with his wrist blades were so great that Gen had to go through his usual TrainingFromHell in order to counter them.
* OneWingedAngel: Tsuruk transforms himself into a giant reptilian monster instead of merely increasing his size, which is how he battles Ultraman Leo. He maintains his lethal wrist blades in this form.
* VillainousLegacy: is killed off after the end of part his two-parter but his murder of Tooru and Kaoru's father still haunts them throughout the series, especially Tooru.

!!Kanedoras
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kanedoras_0.jpg]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Don't Cry! You're A Man!
An extraterrestrial monster with the ability to hurl its huge sword-like horn like a boomerang. Naturally, Gen had to train hard in order to find a way to counter Kanedoras' throwing skills with its boomerang horn, while also trying to find a way to get Tooru's spirits back up after his father's death.
----
* BattleBoomerang: Its "ability of the week" that Gen needed to train against and find a way to overcome. Its boomerang horn is also bladed for a good measure.
* BreathWeapon: Breathes fire.
* EyeScream: [[spoiler: Leo managed to turn it's horn back into it's face, and sure enough it ends up in the monster's eyes]].
* GiantFlyer: Possesses flaps of skin on its sides that allow it soar through the sky.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: [[spoiler:After the monster gets impaled, Leo uses his Leo Kick to slice Kanedoras in half.]]
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler: Was stabbed in it's eyes by it's own boomerang-like horn, after trying to use it on Leo]].
* HornAttack: More specifically, Kanedoras uses its sword-like horn like a boomerang.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: [[spoiler:Leo stabs him in the face with his own horn before chopping him in two.]]

!!Alien Karly

[[caption-width-right:240:Humanoid Form]]
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/karly.PNG]]
[[caption-width-right:240:Kaiju Form]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Burn On! You're A Man!
A murderous alien with massive shoulder spikes that he uses to great effect. With these weapons, he was able to successfully kill several members of MAC in a single fight, and it was exactly for this reason that Gen needed to train himself to overcome the alien's skills.
----
* AimForTheHorn: Had both his shoulder tusks severed by Leo.
* FacialHorror: [[spoiler:His fate, as Ultraman Leo manages to rip off one of his shoulder spikes and stab him in the skull with it.]]
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: Another alien with no motivation except for causing suffering.
* LeftStuckAfterAttack: While trying to skewer Leo in kaiju form, Karly ends up embedding it's tusks into the side of the building. Unable to break free in time, Karly ends up having both tusks chopped off by Leo.
* OneWingedAngel: Like Tsuruk, Karly transforms himself into a giant reptilian monster rather than increasing his size. He uses this ability to battle Ultraman Leo, and still has his deadly shoulder spikes.
* ShockAndAwe: Shoots lightning from his shoulder spikes and can electrocute enemies who try to grab them.
* SpikesOfDoom: He relies on the two huge spikes on his shoulders to overwhelm his opponents. Naturally, Gen had to train himself to counter the weapons.

!!Kendoros
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kendoros_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': A Beautiful Man's Disposition
A strange alien monster that spawned a dangerous flower which Kaoru had discovered and taken care of. Using the fully matured flower, the monster had the ability to hurl shuriken-like petals from its body, which was what Gen needed to train himself against for the episode.
----
* BattleBoomerang: The shuriken petals act as these, and Gen had to train against them.
* BeatThemAtTheirOwnGame: Kendoros specializes in launching it's petals like numerous boomerang blades, so [[spoiler: at the end of the battle Leo turns ''himself'' into a boomerang and inflicts a killing blow on Kendoros]].
* FoulFlower: Kendoros gains its shuriken petals from the alien flower growing on the top of its body, but it has to create the flower and let it grow in order to gain the ability.
* HandBlast: Is able to fire bullet-like energy missiles from its fingertips.
* {{Helicritter}}: The flower on it top acts as a propeller for flight.
* OurMonstersAreWeird: Another of those upside-down monsters a la [[Series/ReturnOfUltraman Twin Tail]], except this time as a giant artichoke monster!
* RollingAttack: Kendoros can retract its body parts into its bulb-like body to roll about and over enemies.

!!Vekira
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vekira08.jpg]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Certain Kill! Monster Challenger!
A monster whose AchillesHeel is its backside. However, Vekira is smart enough to make sure that its enemies will never be able hit it from behind no matter how hard they try, so Gen had to train himself to find a way to be able to get behind Vekira and strike its weak spot.
----
* AchillesHeel: Vekira's backside is so vulnerable to attack that it will die if hit from behind hard enough. However, the monster knows this and always ensures that its back is never facing the enemy, so Gen had to train in order to somehow hit the monster from behind.
* BreathWeapon: Can breath a shower of explosive sparks.

!!Alien Giro
[[quoteright:190:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/guiro_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Bridge of Friendship that Spans the Universe
A friendly alien who came to Earth to enjoy its sights and befriended Tooru after meeting him at an amusement park. Unfortunately, his friendship with the boy was met with suspicion by MAC, and Dan forced Gen to train against the alien's ability to create hindering foam from its antennae.
----
* AchillesHeel: His antennae are not only the source of his most potent powers, but he will actually die if they're torn off.
* AimForTheHorn: His horn-like antennae ends up being cut by Leo in battle.
* AliensAmongUs: Giro can't disguise himself as a human like many Ultra aliens, so he hides by blending in with the monster statues at an amusement park.
* AmusingAlien: He was merely a friendly and fun-loving alien who just came to Earth to make friends and travel as a tourist. Unfortunately, MAC's suspicion of potential alien invaders led to him fighting Ultraman Leo.
* HumansAreTheRealMonsters: Giro is not evil however humanity's paranoia of him causes the conflict of the episode.
* LittleGreenMen: He strongly resembles one.
* NotHelpingYourCase: Though non-malicious, the fact that his immediate reaction upon being confronted by a suspicious Gen is to ''run away'', [[InvasionOfTheBabySnatchers Tooru in hand]], doesn't particularly help matters.
* SlipperySkid: One of Giro's main attacks is spewing foam from its horns which causes Leo to slip.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Sometimes spelled as Guiro.
* StickySituation: Giro's primary power (and that which Gen had to train against) is to spray a white foam from his antennae that solidifies upon contact with solid matter, slowing and hindering his enemies in sticky white foam.

!!Ron

[[caption-width-right:240:Ron during happier times with it's master, prior to L77's destruction.]]

[[caption-width-right:240:Kaiju Form]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Sorrowful, Wandering Monster
Leo's beloved pet monster back on L77 before the planet was destroyed. While Ron survived, he unfortunately transformed into a giant murderous beast from the grief of being abandoned by his owner, eventually making his way to Earth, where Gen found himself deeply reluctant to kill his former companion.
----
* BewareMyStingerTail: Ron can shoot energy darts from his tail.
* BreathWeapon: Breathes fire.
* CameFromTheSky: Arrives on Earth in the form of a comet.
* CanineCompanion: Leo's equivalent to one, although AllThereInTheManual sources state that Ron's species were actually considered pests by most of L77's inhabitants. In fact, [[spoiler:Leo even grants him an animal equivalent of a human form, since he appears disguised as a dog at the end of his episode.]]
* EyeBeams: Can shoot lasers from his eyes.
* MagmaMan: Ron consumes lava, which was how he turned from a small animal into a gigantic monster.
* MakeMyMonsterGrow: Ron is normally only about the equivalent of a small dog in terms of comparing his size to that of Ultraman Leo, but its grief and rage, as well as a steady diet of magma, made it the size of Ultraman Leo.
* PetMonstrosity: Of Ultraman Leo before L77 was destroyed.
* PrehensileTail: Uses his tail to constrict Ultraman Leo during their fight.
* PlayingWithFire: Asides from his BreathWeapon, he can also shoot fire from his tail.
* TunnelKing: Ron is a powerful burrower, which helps him feed on lava. In fact, books on the Ultra Series state that on L77, Ron's species are roughly equivalent to moles.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Despite surviving his battle against Leo, reverted to a regular puppy and adopted by Kaoru at the end, Ron somehow never appears for the rest of the series outside it's debut episode.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: Ron was only rampaging because he had been driven to madness by the grief over being separated from Ultraman Leo. Even Gen feels deeply sorry for Ron and refuses to battle him as he rampages.

!!Alien Kettle
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_kettle_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': One Man Covered in Mud
A vicious alien thug who kills the uncle and aunt of Ichiro Matsumoto, one of the boys at Jounan Sports Center. The shame of failing to save the kid's family and his inability to overcome the alien's superhuman strength and speed led Gen to once again go through TrainingFromHell.
----
* BadassNormal: Despite having no powers beyond the stock one of changing his size, Kettle was so strong and agile that Gen had to merely train against the alien's superhuman martial arts skills instead of some special ability he had.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: No motivation for why its killing people on earth, it just is
* KickTheDog: Aliens in this series really like murdering kids' guardians, don't they?
* SuperReflexes: Kettle is capable of numerous acts of inhuman agility, including jumping clean over the heads of his enemies and leaping from wall to wall.
* SuperStrength: Kettle is so strong that he can bend iron with his bare hands, and defeat 4 trained MAC officers and a professional wrestler (the latter whom he kills) all fighting him at once.

!!Bango
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bango_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Adventure Nut Arrives!
A fun-loving monster whose only interest is finding new and exciting things to do. Bango particularly enjoys imitating anything it finds amusing, particularly the antics of MAC's newest team member, an eccentric self-declared world adventurer from Africa named Saburo Sato.
----
* BreathWeapon: Breathes powerful gusts of misty wind. They can't hurt people, but they can blow away annoyances as needed.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: In his battle against Ultraman Leo, he uses a tower as a bat and tosses an oil tank as a grenade.
* NonMaliciousMonster: Being the kaiju of the series' first BreatherEpisode, Bango is merely a harmless (as far as kaiju go) goofball who just wants to have fun and likes to imitate anything he finds amusing.

!!Alien Vibe

[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_vibe.png]]
[[caption-width-right:200:Humanoid Form]]
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_vibe_big.png]]
[[caption-width-right:200:Monster Form]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Huge Explosion! Two Aliens in Crisis!
A bloodthirsty alien invader with the ability to vibrate his own body at such speeds that he is rendered invisible. Naturally, Gen had to figure out how to train against an enemy that he could not see, while the rest of MAC busied itself with trying to stop the alien's killing spree.
----
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Yeah, his humanoid form looks more like a clown outfit (complete with a pair of dangling bells on each side!) but make no mistake, once he turned monstrous he's a formidable foe to deal with.
* FragileSpeedster: Despite how overwhelming his SuperSpeed and {{Invisibility}} were for Gen, [[spoiler:Vibe ended up being killed by only MAC's firepower when he turned giant size, with]] ''[[spoiler:no help from Ultraman Leo.]]''
* {{Invisibility}}: Which he performs by moving his entire body at SuperSpeed.
* PunnyName: So called for his vibrating abilities, which is what allows him to turn invisible and move at superspeed.
* SuperSpeed: Vibe can vibrate his entire body at lightning fast speeds, and then move about with an equally great swiftness to make some murderous mayhem.

!!Antales
[[quoteright:275:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/antales_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Certain Kill-Fists! A Young Boy Calls Up a Tempest!
-->'''Played by:''' Kawashiro Famiyoshi (human form actor)
A scorpion-like alien from the Antares system who takes on the form of a young and hotheaded human martial artist with a secret invisible stinger technique to strike his foes down. The agonizing pain of the invisible stinger was exactly what Gen had to train against for the episode.
----
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Takes on the form of a young martial artist in order to challenge Gen in face-to-face combat, using his human disguise to overpower and humiliate other martial artists with his secret technique.
* AttackTheTail: Leo managed to sever Antales' tail during the battle.
* BewareMyStingerTail: Being a scorpion-like alien, Antales uses his claw-like stinger tail in combat. In his human disguise, the tail is invisible allowing him to still use it. It was also the ability Gen had to train against.
* BlindedByTheLight: Can flash a blinding red light from his eyes.
* MeaningfulName: Antales' Japanese name "Antares" is derived from the name of a star located in the constellation of Scorpius, where he originates from.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: A kung-fu fighting scorpion-based alien monster. ''Seriously''.
* OffWithHisHead / HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:Leo defeats Antales by ripping of his stinger and using it slice off his head.]]
* PlayingWithFire: His stinger tail can also act as a flamethrower.
* PowerPincers: Being a martial artist scorpion alien, he uses them to block his enemies' punches and kicks.
* ScaryScorpions: Japanese books on the Ultra Series state that he hails from the constellation of Scorpius too!

!!Alien Flip
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_flip_ii.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Way to Fight in Darkness! Attacking with Fighting Spirit!
An evil alien with the ability to create numerous illusory duplicates of himself in order to disorient his enemies. Gen, of course, had to train against this confusion-inducing technique by seeking the help of a blind martial artist and training himself in blinded combat.
----
* AmbiguouslyRelated: There are magazines and promotional materials (one from the "Ultraman Monster Great Encyclopedia") that claims Alien Flip is related to Alien Baltan, which doesn't sound too far-fetched given they create similar gloating noises and DoppelgangerSpin abilities, but that's not really made clear within the episode itself.
* DoppelgangerSpin: Creates illusions of himself to battle Ultraman Leo. Gen had to train to figure out how to distinguish the real one. [[spoiler:The trick is that the real one is the only one whose footsteps can be heard.]]
* EvilLaugh: Which is actually a slightly modified form of Alien Baltan's.
* {{Expy}}: Of Alien Baltan from the original ''Series/{{Ultraman}}'', who has almost the exact same DoppelgangerSpin ability and EvilLaugh.

!!Alien Atler
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_atler.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Woman who Disappeared at Midnight
-->'''Played by:''' Yuri Hoshino (human form actress)
A wicked alien who shapeshifts into a pretty young woman in white to lure humans to their deaths. She relies on the power of a deadly flower from her homeworld known as the Black Orchid, which encases her victims in silver. She's also notable for being the first MonsterOfTheWeek Gen did not have to train himself to defeat.
----
* FoulFlower: Carries the Black Orchid on her chest, which allow her to change shape. It also shoots a ray of energy that turns victims into silver, but in the battle with Ultraman Leo, it only has a minimal effect due to their larger sizes.
* TakenForGranite: Her Black Orchid encases people in silver, turning them into statues or simply welding their legs.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Takes on the form of a ghost-like lady in white to lure men and kill them with her Black Orchid.

!!Alien Wolf

[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_wolf_i.png]]
[[caption-width-right:200:Kaiju form]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Bride of the Wolfman
A werewolf-like alien that can possess humans, forcing his victims to transform into him every night. He takes over the body of a gymnast named Saeko that Gen's friend Takeshi is dating, combining her superb reflexes with his own natural strength and strange powers in order to defeat Ultraman Leo.
----
* DemonicPossession: His method of turning people into "werewolves". If the person has any special traits (eg: Saeko and her gymnastic skills), he gains those in his monstrous form.
* NonIndicativeName: Alien Wolf's humanoid form resembles... a bear.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: ''Very different''. First of all, he's an alien. Secondly, and more interestingly, he actually turns people into werewolves by possessing them instead of biting them, forcing them to transform into Alien Wolf at night. Also, he has a number of vampire traits, notably drinking blood for sustenance and having a habit of specifically targeting women.
* SpinAttack: Due to the fact that he was possessing the body of Saeko the gymnast, Alien Wolf inherits the girl's spinning acrobatics and uses it to perform a pinwheel attack.
* SpringJump: Not actually taken from Saeko, but rather a standard ability for Alien Wolf.
* TheToothHurts: Ultraman Leo tears out Alien Wolf's fangs during the fight.
* UrsineAliens: In his humanoid form, anyways, which resembles closer to a bear than a wolf.

!!Batton
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/batton_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Vampire! The Bat Girl!
-->'''Voiced by:''' Tomoko Sakamoto (also human form actor)
One of a swarm of extraterrestrial vampire bats that were exterminated by MAC when they attacked Earth. As the sole survivor of MAC's onslaught, she disguised herself as an injured young woman and was taken in by Momoko and Kaoru to be cared for, using the opportunity to search for blood to drink.
----
* BatOutOfHell: Her true form is a giant humanoid bat, though she can also appear as a very large spacefaring vampire bat.
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: Has retractable wrist blades that she uses in her fight with Leo.
* BlowYouAway: Like all winged monsters, she is able to create powerful gusts by flapping her wings. To solve this, Leo simply just rips her wings apart.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: In this case, they're giant alien space bats that take on the forms of humans to turn people into vampires.
* PointyEars: They can shoot rays of energy.
* PowerCrystal: In her human form, Batton carries a gemstone around her neck that puts people to sleep, which she uses so that she can drink their blood.
* SuperSpit: Has poison spit.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Like Antales, Batton takes on a human in order to spread havoc out of the notice of MAC. She still has all her vampire powers, using her long dress as makeshift wings.
* WouldNotHurtAChild: She doesn't attack children. It's not out of sympathy for them though -- she just doesn't like the taste of their blood.

!!Alien Boze
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_boze.jpg]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Revival of the Half-Man Fish
A fish-like alien who had been terrorizing a small fishing village in Hokkaido for over a century. It happened to be that Gen, Momoko, Tooru, and Kaoru were vacationing in that exact village, soon bringing the fearful villagers' story of a sea monster to the attention of MAC.
----
* AllMythsAreTrue: He originated as a myth among the local fishing populace. Turns out he's very real.
* EarFins: To complete the "fish people" look, Boze has a row of fins in place of ears.
* FishPeople: He came to Earth during the 1800s and terrorized the locals of the nearby village for many years, creating a dread superstition amongst them about not fishing at certain times lest they incur the wrath of a "sea monster".
* GrievousHarmWithABody: [[spoiler:Ultraman Leo kills Boze by ripping off his whip-arm, and using it to beat the alien to death.]]
* StrippedToTheBone: Dissolves into a skeleton upon death.

-->'''Played by:''' Nagisa Koyama
A young friend of Dan Moroboshi from the constellation of Ursa Minor who came to Hokkaido to seek the help of Dan and Gen when his mother was murdered by the vicious Dogyuh. He takes on the form of a human boy and is accompanied by a pair of orphaned bear cubs.
----
* BearyFriendly: A little boy from the constellation of Ursa Minor and gets along swimmingly with both Dan and Gen. He also has his pair of orphaned bear cubs, whom he cares for a lot.
* HumanAliens: Appears as one, although it's more likely that we never actually see his true form.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: Although just a child, he's a good friend of the much older Dan Moroboshi.
* MeaningfulName: Bock's name comes from "Koro-pok-guru", the name of a race of gnome-like people in the folklore of the Ainu people who inhabit Hokkaido.
* NiceGuy: Bick shows himself to be a friendly and well-behaved child.
* UrsineAliens: Implied. We never see his true form, but considering Dogyuh, it's likely he resembles one.
* YouKilledMyFather: In this case, Dogyuh killed his mother. Thus he comes to Earth to ask for help from his friend, Series/{{Ultraseven}}.

-->'''First Appearance''': The Strange Boy from Ursa Minor
-->'''Played by:''' Kin Ohmae (human form actor)
A brutal bull-like alien from the constellation of Taurus who came to Hokkaido in pursuit of Bock after murdering the bear-boy's mother. He spends most of the episode in the form of a burly bear hunter, trying to rile up locals into helping him kill Bock by telling them he's an alien invader.
----
* AnArmAndALeg: [[spoiler:Ultraman Leo kills him by ripping his legs off.]]
* {{Archenemy}}: Of Bock, for killing his mother.
* EyeScream: Bock impales Dogyuh's eyes with spears during Leo's battle with the bull-like alien.
* HateSink: He killed Bock's mother and hunted the child all the way to Earth, framed Bock for killing of livestock, and manipulated an entire village to hunt down the child. Every action from this scumbag of an alien is a massive KickTheDog moment, from being a bully to killing a little bear cub and being nasty in general.
* KickTheDog: He lives to do this, such as killing one of Bock's pet bear cubs.
* {{Jerkass}}: He's a bullying brute all around.
* ManipulativeBastard: He incites some local villagers against Bock by accusing him of being an evil invader.
* OurMinotaursAreDifferent: His true form is a vaguely minotaur-like alien, since he hails from the Taurus constellation.
* SuperStrength: Since he is a bull-like alien. He manages to temporarily blind Leo with the sheer strength of a single punch to the face.
* WouldHurtAChild: Duh. His goal was to kill Bock, after all.

Unfortunately, she's being pursued by the evil Alien Northsatan, so she turns to MAC for help and to find her former lover, an Olympic athlete-turned-MAC officer named Kitayama.
----
* AncientAstronauts: When her species came to ancient Greece, the Greeks gained their inspiration for their goddess of victory.
* BeenThereShapedHistory: Her people are the inspiration for the Greek Goddess of Victory.
* BornLucky: So much that she can bless other people with good luck.
* HumanAliens: Due to the fact that her species is actually the inspiration for the Greek goddess Nike.
* InterspeciesRomance: She had fallen in love with Kitayama when he rescued her from Alien Northsatan four years ago, so she granted him the blessing of good luck in gratitude. With her return, they rekindle their romance again.

-->'''First Appearance''': I Saw a Goddess in the Far North
A needle-spitting alien bounty hunter going after Alien Alpha Nike for a massive price that more malevolent forces had placed on the Goddess of Victory's head. He's also notable for being the final MonsterOfTheWeek in which Gen had to spend a chunk of the episode training to fight.
----
* BountyHunter: His goal was to kill Nike due to a price that evil aliens had placed on her head.
* BreathWeapon: Northsatan can fire a beam of white smoke containing hundreds of needles.
* FlechetteStorm: His BreathWeapon as stated above. They're even more dangerous to humans when he's kaiju-sized as he successfully cripples Kitayama with a man-sized spike through the leg.
* MetalMuncher: It's stated that his species consumes metals.
* PigMan: His humanoid form, at least, which resembles a warthog complete with a snout.
* TorsoWithAView: [[spoiler: Ultraman Leo kills him with a punch that penetrates his guts]].

-->'''First Appearance''': Leo Brothers vs. Monster Brothers
A pair of monster brothers, with Gallon being the older of the two and Litre being the younger one. The two monsters overwhelmed Ultraman Leo with their teamwork, but it is during their battle with the hero that his thought-to-be-deceased brother Astra makes his debut.
----
* BashBrothers: Monster siblings who fight side by side.
* BreathWeapon: Both of them breathe fireballs and showers of explosive sparks.
* TheDividual: Like the Gilas Brothers, it's nigh impossible to treat them as separate monsters due to how closely tied with each other they are.
* PunnyName: On the measurement units used for liquids, with Gallon being the older brother because gallons are the larger measurement.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Gallon has also been spelled as Garon and Galon, while Litre as Liter and Littre.
* TunnelKing: Both monsters are capable of burrowing, and coming out of the ground is how they introduce themselves to the world.

!!Alien Coro
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_coro_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Mischievous Alien Who Fell From His Bed
-->'''Played by:''' Yasuhiro Masuda (actor), Kazue Takahashi (voice)
A child-like alien who spends most of his time resting on a spacefaring bed. One day however, he fell out and landed on Earth, where he befriended Tooru and Kaoru. However, he ends up causing a lot of trouble, especially when he summons his pet monster Renbolar to show off to the kids.
----
* AmusingAlien: Coro is purely a goofy, fun-loving alien who has no ill intentions (as appropriate for a BreatherEpisode). He causes a lot of trouble through his mischief with Tooru and Kaoru though, not to mention the whole Renbolar fiasco.
* BigEater: He eats ''a lot'' when Tooru and his friends get him several boxes of donuts. However, he gets a stomachache from it.
* KidWithTheLeash: Coro controls Renbolar entirely through his tail, so if it gets torn off, Renbolar will rampage. Fortunately, if that happens Coro can regrow his tail, which is sped up by standing on his head.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Despite his child-like appearance and personality, he says he's old enough to be ''a great-grandfather''!
* RubberForeheadAliens: The only physical differences between him and a human boy are that Coro has big floppy ears and a tail.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: He got hungry upon arriving on Earth, Tooru and his friends got him some donuts, and he enjoyed them so much that he and Renbolar bring some back home.

!!Renbolar
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/renbolar.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Mischievous Alien Who Fell From His Bed
Coro's pet monster, which he controls through his tail. Thanks to Coro's control, Renbolar is actually quite harmless, despite its size and strength. Unfortunately, when of Tooru's friends pulls on Coro's tail too hard and yanks it off as a result, Renbolar ends up going berserk!
----
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Despite his goofy personality, Renbolar proved to be an extremely powerful enemy. [[spoiler:Thankfully, Coro regrew his tail quickly enough to keep Renbolar from defeating Leo.]]
* EverythingsBetterWithRainbows: Can consume rainbows[[note]]a physically impossible feat given that rainbows a just a reflection of light[[/note]] to increase his strength. His BossSubtitles are even "Rainbow Monster".
* FightingClown: Renbolar's battles with Leo are highly comedic, with their first fight playing out quite similarly to a very goofy boxing match.
* IronicFear: Is shown to be afraid of rainwater, despite that fact rainbows are created when the sun's reflection bounces off rain.
* NonMaliciousMonster: As another BreatherEpisode monster, Renbolar is a purely peaceful creature, so long as Coro can keep him under control. But even when it goes berserk, Renbolar is still pretty ineffectual.
* PetMonstrosity: Of Alien Coro, who controls the monster via his tail.
* PunnyName: Renbolar's Japanese name "Renbora" is derived from the Japanese pronunciation of "rainbow".
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Renbolar is afraid of water, and when a rainstorm hits Tokyo, the monster runs away.

The sole survivor of a robot revolt in the Virgo constellation, alongside his granddaughter Carolyn. Professor Dodole fled to Earth in a human disguise to live out peacefully among mankind, but unfortunately, the robots' mightiest warrior Gamelot is sent after him and Carolyn.
----
* GadgeteerGenius: Built numerous robots to serve Sarin society, which tragically backfired when they destroyed his people.
* HumanAliens: Though a flashback implies it's just a disguise.
* LastOfHisKind: Thanks to Gamelot and the other robots destroying his homeworld.

!!Alien Sarin Carolyn
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/carolyn_0.jpg]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Beautiful Maiden from Virgo
-->'''Played by:''' Mariko Matsuoka
Professor Dodole's beautiful granddaughter, who flees with her father to Earth to escape a robot rebellion on their homeworld. A romance begins to flourish between her and Gen on Earth, but when Gamelot arrives, it turns out Carolyn is not what she seems.
----
* HeroicSacrifice:[[spoiler:In order to help Leo kill Gamelot, Carolyn self-destructs to blow a hole in Gamelot's armour.]]
* HumanAliens: Or so it seems...
* MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter: Granddaughter technically, but who's keeping track? Dodole can't really be called "mad", but he did build the robots that destroyed his homeworld. Carolyn was also beautiful enough that Gen developed feelings for her.
* RobotGirl: [[spoiler: See below]].
* RoboticReveal: [[spoiler:Turns out to be an android, and she self-destructs in order to damage Gamelot enough for Leo to kill him.]]

!!Gamelot
[[quoteright:260:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gamerot_robot_mode.jpg]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Beautiful Maiden from Virgo
Originally built as the guardian of the Professor Dodole and Carolyn's homeworld, Gamelot was the vanguard of the robot revolution in Virgo that killed off his creators' species. After the scientists and his daughter fled to Earth, Gamelot was sent by the other robots of Virgo in search of the survivors.
----
* AIIsACrapshoot: He was the most powerful of the numerous robots that once served the Sarins, built to be their defender. Unfortunately, it backfired when they rebelled and destroyed the planet.
* {{Archenemy}}: Of Professor Dodole and Carolyn, fir destroying their homeworld. Additionally, Gamelot was built by the former and [[spoiler:sees the latter as a traitor for not participating in the robot rebellion.]]
* ChestBlaster: Has numerous large red orbs on his chest that fire lasers.
* HumongousMecha: A giant robot built to protect the Virgo Consetllation from enemies, only to turn against them.
* TheJuggernaut: Ultraman Leo had a nigh-impossible time trying to get past Gamelot's metallic armour. It was only [[spoiler:Carolyn's self-destruction that allowed Leo to finally bust up the robot into scrap metal.]]
* MeaningfulName: Gamelot's alternative name Gamerot comes from "kame", the Japanese word for "turtle", which is rather fitting as Gamelot possesses the ability to retract its head and limbs into its super-tough body.
* OffWithHisHead: [[spoiler: He was eventually destroyed when Leo kicks his head off]].
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Gamelot or Gamerot?
* SpringJump: Due to the powerful springs in his legs, he can jump quite high for a robot.
* TransformingMecha: Can retract his head and limbs inside his body to fly.

!!Alien Clean
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultrmn_l_alien_clean.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Rhinoceros Beetle is a Space Invader!
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Toru Hanabusa
An alien janitor who only appears in the dreams of a hypochondriac boy named Jiro, who desires to live as far away as possible from Earth pollution. Clean tells him that he can come to his world, which has no filth or pollution and is where Jiro's disappeared pet tortoise and rhinoceros beetle are supposedly living.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: It's never made clear whether Alien Clean actually ever existed and was contacting Jiro through his dreams or was just a figment of Jiro's overactive imagination.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: It's never explained whether Clean actually did send Satan Beetle to Earth as part of a scheme to take over the planet or whether the monster was entirely independent.
* HumanAliens: He appears as one.

!!Satan Beetle
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/satan_beetle.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Rhinoceros Beetle is a Space Invader!
An extraterrestrial insect-like monster that unexpectedly arrived on Earth. It was believed by a germaphobic boy named Jiro to be his lost pet rhinoceros beetle sent as an ambassador by Alien Clean to take him to the alien's far less filthy and polluted home planet.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: It's never completely explained whether Satan Beetle actually did have anything to do with Alien Clean and Jiro's lost pet rhinoceros beetle or whether it was just a random space kaiju that coincidentally showed up at the same time. The latter is more strongly implied when Jiro manages to find his rhinoceros beetle alive and well.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: Is meant to resemble the Japanese rhinoceros beetle, or kabutomushi.
* BreakoutVillain: A rather strange example of this. While having very limited screen time in the form of cameos or mentions (Save for it's cameo in ''Series/UltramanZ'' where [[spoiler:it was used to form [[EldritchAbomination Destrudos]]]], and physical appearance in the former show's spin-off mini-series''Series/SevengerFight''), Satan Beetle has found a place for itself in other forms of Ultra Series media such as video games and merchandising.
* BreathWeapon: Breathes poison gas.
* ChestBlaster: Satan Beetle is able to fire energy missiles from from the sockets on its chest.
* FourLeggedInsect: Like most insect kaiju, Satan Beetle only has two arms and two legs since that's how PeopleInRubberSuits work.
* GiantFlyer: Like a real rhinoceros beetle, Satan Beetle's wings are hidden under its carapace.
* SpikesOfDoom: Its arms are entirely covered in spines that help out in melee combat.
* ToughBeetles: It's a powerful and deadly beetle kaiju, and a tough opponent for the Ultraman Leo.

!!Alien Pressure
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pressure_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Ultraman King vs. the Magician
A powerful and malicious extraterrestrial wizard who used his powers to wreak all sorts of havoc on Earth, including shrinking Ultraman Leo to the size of an action figure. It was in his appearance that the mighty Ultraman King made his debut to help Leo against the space wizard.

Alien Pressure became the subject of some minor MemeticMutation in Japan during the release hype for ''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends'' when comedian Takashi Okamura performed a parody of Michael Jackson's ''Thriller'' with ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' monsters while in a Pressure suit to promote the film on his comedy show ''Mecha-Mecha Iketeru!''. He also makes a cameo in the film dressed as Pressure.
----
* EvilLaugh: His "roar" is a series of eerie cackles and giggles.
* EvilSorcerer: He came to Earth for the sole purpose of wreaking havoc with his magic powers, as well as defeating Ultraman Leo.
* HavingABlast: Able to generate a series of explosions by waving his hand.
* MagicWand: Pressure's weapon of choice. Displayed the following abilities:
** DishingOutDirt: Can cause small earthquakes.
** MindOverMatter: His staff is able to lift objects telekinetically.
** PlayingWithFire: Can shoot out a stream of fire.
** ShockAndAwe: Fires paralyzing lightning.
** ShrinkRay: Can reduce his enemies to minuscule sizes, which he does to Ultraman Leo at the beginning of the episode.
** SmokeOut: Can create red smoke for escaping foes.
** UselessUsefulSpell: Can create balloons, and he uses one to trap a shrunken Leo inside.
* NightmareFace: When the episode decides to give audiences an uncomfortable close-up on Pressure's grinning mug... sweet dreams!
* TeleportSpam: Which he uses to annoy MAC as they attempt to pursue him.
* WizardsFromOuterSpace: He's an alien wizard so powerful that Ultraman King had to reveal himself for the first time in order to save the day.

!!Oni-On
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oni_on.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Mighty Momotaro!

After being chased off of Apple by the planet's denizens, he came to Earth in search of more food, only to encounter opposition in the form of MAC and the son of a fruit seller named Taro who is nicknamed "Peach Boy" by his friends.
----
* BreathWeapon: Breathes tear gas.
* BigEater: He has a huge appetite for fruit and came to Earth with the intention of eating all of the planet's fruit.
* CarryABigStick: Wields a kanabou, a type of spiked club popularly wielded by oni in Japanese culture.
* NakedPeopleAreFunny: His kilt gets knocked down during the battle with Ultraman Leo, exposing his butt, much to his embarrassment!
* {{Oni}}: He is from an episode inspired by fairy tale of ''Momotaro the Peach Boy'' after all!
* PunnyName: On "onion" and "oni", which describes his breath weapon's tear gas power and appearance.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: He likes fruit in general, but loves apples the most.
* {{Transflormation}}: [[spoiler:Ultraman Leo defeats him by transforming him into an example of the apple trees from his home.]]
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Oni-On is terrified of chickens, as his home planet has a native chicken species which is around the same size to him as normal chickens are to humans, and they frequently give him trouble on his home planet.

!!Alien Paradai[=/=]King Paradai

* EarAche: In King Paradai form, Leo rips off both his ears during the battle.
* EarFins: In King Paradai form.
* FishPeople: Their episode is inspired by the folktale of Urashima Taro, the boy who visited the bottom of the sea and the palace of Ryujin, the Japanese dragon god of the sea. However, they live in a submarine rather than swimming about in the ocean.
* FusionDance: Two Paradai are able to transform themselves into King Paradai by merging together.
* HornAttack: King Paradai can shoot energy bolts from its horns.
* MindOverMatter: The Paradai have telekinetic powers.
* OneWingedAngel: Some of the human-like Paradai, angry about the attack on their children, transform themselves into the dragon-like King Paradai to destroy a fishing village, despite that fact that MAC, a friendly fisherman, and the Paradai queen had been working to patch up the incident. Ultraman Leo does not take kindly to this.
* PrehensileTail: King Paradai uses its tail to strangle Ultraman Leo in their fight.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: The Paradai who had turned themselves into King Paradai intended on this to punish the humans for harming their children. However, Ultraman Leo was not going to tolerate their actions.
* RollingAttack: King Paradai is able to curl itself into a ball to deflect attack of its hide while ramming into enemies.
* RubberForeheadAliens: Except for their green skin and hair, the Paradai look exactly like humans.

-->'''Played by:''' Keiji Shimizu (human form actor)
A psychic alien who uses his immense powers to wreak havoc around Tokyo. He spends most of the episode in the form of an extremely bratty boy accompanied by his alleged mother, a mysterious woman whom Dan recognizes as [[Series/UltraSeven Anne Yuri]], only to find that the lady doesn't recognize him.
----
* BrattyHalfPint: His human disguise, except the kid also has incredible psychic powers.
* EyeBeams: Able to fire a series of telekinetic rings from his visor.
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Despite all the trouble he causes, Ultraman Leo ultimately spares Uringa and takes both the alien and the woman away from Earth, leaving it forever a mystery whether the lady really was Anne or an IdenticalStranger.]]
* MindOverMatter: Has immense psychic powers, overwhelming even Dan's Ultra Willpower. In his first appearance, he uses his powers to pin Momoko and a group of children with a steel beam, and he even lifted ''a Ferris wheel'' with telekinesis!
* PsychopathicManChild: Possibly. He takes on the form of an extremely bratty little boy who uses his potent psychic powers to cause mischief and depends heavily on a maybe-Anne who may or may not be his real mother.
* ShockAndAwe: Can fire green lightning from the horns on his helmet.
* SpikeShooter: Can fire the spikes from his armour as missiles, or even use them as daggers in melee combat.

!!Rolan
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rolan_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Monster's Favour
-->'''Played by:''' Hiroko Sakurai (human form actress)
A bird-like alien described as the most beautiful creature in the universe, which attracted the attention of Alien Magma, who sought to marry her. She managed to escape with Leo's help, but was injured until a bike shop owner and his son helped her. In gratitude, she took on a human form to work at their bicycle shop and give toy pinwheels to children.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Alien Magma is this to her. He didn't take her rejection well.
* BirdPeople: She's an intelligent bird-like alien described as the most beautiful being in the universe. It's also worth noting she was inspired by a classic Japanese fairy tale ''Tsuru no Ongaeshi'' (usually called ''The Grateful Crane'' in English).
* ChekhovsGun: The pinwheels she made for the children, [[spoiler:one of which Leo used to stab Magma with, killing him.]]
* FriendToAllChildren: She shows signs of this, as she presents children with toy pinwheel fans she made
* InformedAttribute: Admittedly, her true form is not as beautiful as the show says, but that's what happens when you recycle the costume from Alien Northsatan mixed with Alien Wolf. Her human form is played by the very attractive Hiroko Sakurai, though.
* NiceGirl: She was a polite and kindhearted alien with a soft spot for children and a deep sense of gratitude towards those who showed her kindness.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Like the fairy tale character she's based on, she takes the form of a beautiful young woman (who is no less than [[Series/{{Ultraman}} Akiko Fuji]]!) to live with the man who helped her get rid of a spear stuck in her foot from when Alien Magma had attacked her.

!!Alien Virmin
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/virmin_full.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The White Flower that Protects Earth
-->'''Voiced by:''' Nobotu Nakaya (also human form actor)
An insectoid alien who disguised himself as an elderly florist with the intent of making Earth a prettier place through his sleep-inducing flowers. He also has a mysterious rivalry with a tiny woman known as the White Flower Fairy who warns Kaoru of the alien's true nature.
----
* {{Archenemy}}: Of the enigmatic White Flower Fairy.
* EvilOldFolks: His human form is an elderly man.
* FauxAffablyEvil: He presents himself as a kindly old man, even when his plot is uncovered, proudly stating that his flowers will beautify Tokyo and give the hard-studying children of Japan some much needed rest.
* FoulFlower: Virmin's flowers may seem like dainty little beauties, but he uses them to spray children with a sleep-inducing poison.
* GreenThumb: He can create poisonous flowers that put humans to sleep. Additionally, his antennae can fire a laser that creates entangling vines around his enemies, as well as fire a mist from his hands that makes his poisonous flowers grow on whatever they hit.
* InsectoidAliens: Sorta looks like a giant cockroach.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Sounds like "vermin".
* PunnyName: On "vermin", since he's an insect-like alien.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Virmin or Vermin? It all depends on how literally you translate his name.
* WouldHurtAChild: Turns on Kaoru once she got suspicious and threw his flowers on the floor.
* YourHeadAsplode: His fate after Leo's Ches tTimer shot gets him in the face. Followed immediately by the rest of his body.

!!Kirara
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kiraa_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Farewell, Princess Kaguya!
-->'''Voiced by:''' Takeshi Watabe
A monster from the Moon who comes to Earth to pick up a lovely young lady named Kaguya who was unaware of the fact that she was actually the princess of the Moon sent to Earth as an infant. However, Kaguya is reluctant to part with her Earth family, and even Gen doesn't believe Kirara should take the princess back home.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: Given that ''Series/UltramanAce'' establishes that the Moon had its own civilisation, only to have it destroyed by Yapool and his creation, Lunaticks (the latter of whom drained the Moon of its magma, reverting it to a rocky desert), it's unclear if Kirara and Kaguya are representatives from this civilisation, a separate nation which happened to survive the Moon's transformation into its present state, or one which arose ''after'' these events took place.
* BreathWeapon: Breathes a shower of explosive sparks.
* ChestBlaster: The bright pattern on his underside can fire out a beam of energy that can create blinding flashes of light, cause a small earthquake, or even give Kaguya her true princess outfit.
* NonMaliciousMonster: Kirara's goal was to pick up Princess Kaguya, who had been left on Earth as a baby by the people of the Moon to hide her from enemies. However, Kaguya isn't aware of this and refuses to leave the old couple who have taken care of her for the past 15 years. Ultraman Leo agrees likewise.
* RollingAttack: Kirara can roll himself up into a meteor, which he uses to smash into enemies, as well as fly between Earth and the Moon.

!!Alien Akumania

[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akumania.PNG]]
[[caption-width-right:300:As a creepy FacelessEye.]]

[[caption-width-right:300:Later as a kaiju.]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Leo Brothers vs. the Space Demon
-->'''Voiced by:''' Eiji Maruyama
A demon-like alien who arrives on Earth in the form of a giant floating eyeball, causing all sorts of disturbing supernatural happenings around an apartment ground with his mere presence. Alien Akumania has also made a few reappearances in later series like ''Series/UltramanGinga S''.
----
* AimForTheHorn: Has one of it's horns kicked off by Leo.
* AnArmAndALeg: Leo rips off both his arms during their fight.
* BreakoutVillain: Not to the extent of Alien Magma and Alien Babalou, or Nova, but Akumania has proven to be decently popular enough to earn some reappearances.
* CastingAShadow: Can cloak a targeted area in darkness.
* {{Cephalothorax}}: His eye and mouth are located on his chest and belly.
* {{Cyclops}}: Has a single eye.
* DetachmentCombat: Leo managed to rip off Akumania's arms at the peak of the battle, only to realize the alien can remotely control it's arms to float around, using these to ambush Leo from behind and choke the Ultra to the point of needing Astra's assistance.
* EyeBeams: In eyeball form, he can fire energy blasts, as well as a ray of energy that causes spectral hands to appear out of the ground and grab victims.
* EyeScream: Gets his eye punctured during his battle against Leo and Astra when they toss one of his horns into it.
* FacelessEye: Can transform himself into one for flight.
* MeaningfulName / NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast : "Akuma" translates as "demon" in Japanese.
* MindOverMatter: Has telekinetic powers. In fact, when Leo tears off his arms in the fight, Akumania uses his telekinesis to guide his severed arms to strangle Leo and reattach them to his body.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: His name is derived from the Japanese word for "demon" and he also has several demonic powers, but really he's just an extraterrestrial.
* RealityWarper: As a giant floating eye, Akumania can summon floating limbs from out of nowhere, put it's victims in a trance as it traps them in another dimension, submerge it's surroundings in a nightmarish realm, all that and more. But it lose this ability once Leo pierces it's eye.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: The central eye in Akumania's body tends to glow red when it starts using its reality-bending powers, one of it's most powerful attacks.
* StarfishAliens: Easily one of the weirdest alien designs in this series.

!!Ashuran
[[quoteright:219:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ashuran.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Ultra Brothers, Eternal Vows
A two-faced demon-like monster that attacked [[Series/ReturnOfUltraman Ultraman Jack]] while he was on his way to give Sevengar to Dan and take the Ultra Eye back to M78 for repairs. Ashuran used its powers to create a muzzle around Jack that remained when he became Hideki Goh, preventing Jack from speaking.
----
* BloodFromTheMouth: [[spoiler: Pukes [[AlienBlood yellow blood]] from ''both'' sides after Jack and Leo executes a fatal kick from both directions]].
* BreathWeapon: Breathes fire from both faces.
* EyeBeams: Fires bolts of energy from both of his faces, but can also shoot out a beam that encases its victim's mouth in a near-indestructible iron mask, which he used to prevent Goh from being able to say anything to Dan and Gen.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: He barely survives a thrashing from Sevengar until the robot is forced back into capsule form, and later upon witnessing Gen Ohtori, Dan Moroboshi and Hideki Go - recognizing these to be the human forms of Ultraman Leo, Ultraseven and Ultraman Jack, Ashuran immediately scrams because he knew the battle is no longer on his favour.
* MeaningfulName: Ashuran's name is derived from the Asuras, a class of demons in Indian mythology (and later imported to Japan through the spread of Buddhism) that are sometimes portrayed with multiple faces.
* {{Oni}}: Although he's mainly based on the Indian Asuras, Ashuran also takes heavy inspiration from Oni as evidenced by his red-and-blue design.
* RedOniBlueOni: Invoked with his design, which is entirely red on one side and entirely blue on the other side. However, they're pretty much the same in every other aspect.
* TotalEclipseOfThePlot: Ashuran chose to invade the earth during an eclipse, because his powers are fueled by darkness and the lack of moonlight will make him stronger than ever. Luckily in the final battle, Jack is around to assist Leo to take down Ashuran.
* TwoFaced: One side of Ashuran is red and the other is blue, but otherwise they're totally identical.

!!Sevengar
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sevengar.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Ultra Brothers, Eternal Vows
A powerful robotic [[Series/UltraSeven Capsule Monster]] stored within an item known as a Monster Ball. Ultraman Jack gave Sevengar to Dan as something to help him assist Ultraman Leo while Jack took Ultraseven's [[TransformationTrinket Ultra Eye]] back to the Land of Light for some much-needed repairs.

After a nearly 50-year absence from the franchise, Sevengar returned in ''Series/UltramanZ'' as a recurring ally of the titular Ultra hero, although this time, the robot is of human construction rather than Ultra design.

Sevengar would finally, ''finally'' get to battle several of Leo's enemies in its very own spin-off, ''Series/SevengerFight'', in which it gets the spotlight as the titular hero for once.
----
* AwesomeButImpractical: Although Sevengar managed to pummel Ashuran with ease when released, his 50 hour recharge time and one minute time limit meant he ultimately did very little against the demon-like kaiju. This is the likely reason why he's never used again afterwards.
* BreakoutCharacter: Was once a very obscure and underrated kaiju back in 1974, but when he made his re-appearance in ''Series/UltramanZ'' 46 years later, Sevenger's popularity would skyrocket, turning him into one of the most well known characters in the entire franchise.
* HandBlast: Fires missiles from his fingertips.
* HourOfPower: Unlike Seven's Capsule Monsters (but similar to the Maquette Monsters of ''Series/UltramanMebius''), Sevengar can only last for one minute before returning to his capsule. Afterwards, the capsule cannot be used for the next 50 hours as he recharges.
* HumongousMecha: A giant 58 meter (190 foot) tall robot that the Ultras had specifically created for usage as a Capsule Monster.
* {{Mons}}: He's a Capsule Monster like [[Series/UltraSeven Miclas, Windam, and Agira]], and even has a "Monster Ball" (beating Pokemon by about 20 years!).
* RollingAttack: Thanks to his cylindrical body shape, Sevengar can use himself as an impromptu steamroller to flatten Ashuran, as seen in their battle.
* SealedGoodInACan: He's stored inside in a football-shaped object called a Monster Ball, which looks very different from the capsules used by Dan in ''Series/UltraSeven''.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Sevengar or Sevenger?
* SuperStrength: Which is what makes Sevengar is the most powerful of all the Capsule Monsters, allowing him to overpower Ashuran with no problems.
* TinCanRobot: Sevengar has a very canister-shaped body.

!!Taishoh
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/taishoh_i.jpg]]

-->'''First Appearance''': I'm the Monster General
-->'''Voiced by:''' Fuyumi Shiraishi
A naughty alien child sealed inside a jar by his parents for his misbehavior and poor grades in school. Taishoh's prison eventually arrived on Earth, where a boy with an equally poor performance at school named Miyasaka, "the Monster General", befriended him, only for the alien brat to cause him a lot of trouble.
----
* AmusingAlien: He's another BreatherEpisode monster, so this is a given. The worst he really does is destroy an empty school building when he turns giant-sized, but the kids don't seem to mind.
* AttackReflector: The warts on his body are able to reflect projectile attacks.
* BilingualBonus: His name means "'General" in Japanese, which reflects his friendship with a kid nicknamed "the Monster General". Taishoh's the ''literal'' monster general.
* BrattyHalfPint: The reason why his parents have sealed him inside a magical pot was due to his extremely bad behaviour and performance at school. When he arrives on Earth, he causes just as much havoc for the kids and MAC.
* CoolAndUnusualPunishment: Taishoh was placed inside a magical pot and thrown into space for how much of a brat he was, but Miyasaka released him when he arrived on Earth. [[spoiler:Ultraman Leo seals him back up again for all the trouble he causes.]]
* FightingClown: His battle with Ultraman Leo is very much a slapstick-type fight, befitting of Taishoh's mischievous behaviour.
* PottyFailure: Suffers from this when Miyasaka brings him inside the jar to school, only for Taishoh to have to really use the bathroom. It turns out the jar has a leak too, much to Miyasaka's embarrassment!

!!Alien Atlanta
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_atlanta_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Fly, Leo Brothers! Save the Space Base!
-->'''Played by:''' Tetsuo Nogawa (human form actor)
A sinister alien who takes the form of an astronaut named Uchida who, unbeknownst to everyone but Gen and Dan, was killed when he landed on Atlanta's homeworld. He joined MAC in his human disguise, intending to plant a bomb in the MAC base to assassinate the supreme commander of MAC, who happened to be the father of Uchida's fiance.
----
* BadassNormal: Despite not really having any unique combat powers beyond the usual size-increasing one, he gave Ultraman Leo a tough enough time that Astra had to show up and help him out.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Gen and Dan know all too well that Uchida is in fact Alien Atlanta coming to Earth with murderous intentions, but because Uchida is highly regarded by the rest of MAC and is supposed to marry the daughter of MAC's top leader, they can do pretty much nothing to stop him.
* DeadPersonImpersonation: Takes on the form of Uchida, whom he killed, in order to join MAC and destroy them.

!!Alien Mazaras
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_mazara.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Mystery! The Devil in the Mirror!
-->'''Voiced by:''' Chisako Hara (also human form actress)
An alien who resides in the mirror world. She stepped out of her realm to capture Kaoru in an effort to replace her own lost daughter by impersonating the girl's deceased mother while also sending out her monster servant Specter to ravage the human world.
----
* DeadPersonImpersonation: Takes on the form of Tooru and Kaoru's mother to capture Kaoru. [[spoiler:Kaoru sees through the disguise when she sees her brother being harmed by Specter's rampage and realizes her mother would have also tried to save Tooru in such a situation.]]
* MasterOfIllusion: Asides from taking the form of Tooru and Kaoru's dead mother, she also creates various hallucinations to confuse Ultraman Leo in their fight.
* MirrorMonster: Unlike most Ultra Series aliens, Mazaras isn't the name of her homeworld. She lives in the mirror realm instead.
* {{Oni}}: Essentially an Oni mixed with Bloody Mary, in terms of appearance and behaviour.
* TragicVillain: Mazaras kidnapped Kaoru to replace her deceased daughter, so even Ultraman Leo felt bad for her when they fought.

!!Specter
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/specter_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Mystery! The Devil in the Mirror!
Alien Mazaras' monster minion and a fellow native of the mirror world she inhabits. Mazaras sent Specter out into the human world to ravage Tokyo while she personally dealt Ultraman Leo when he came out rescue Kaoru from her clutches and break the illusions cast on the girl.
----
* AttackReflector: Its mirror-like body can reflect weak attacks, such as the gunfire from MAC.
* TheDragon: Of Alien Mazaras.
* LiterallyShatteredLives: [[spoiler:Specter shatters into hundreds of mirror shards when Ultraman Leo kills it.]]
* MirrorMonster: Not only does Specter hail from the same realm as its master Mazaras, but it is also completely made out of mirrors!
* PoisonousPerson: Is able to shoot toxic gas from its hands.
* PowerCrystal: Specter has several on its head that are able to shoot out weak energy beams.

!!Alien Babalou
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_babalou.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Battle! Leo Brothers vs. Ultra Brothers!
-->'''Voiced by:''' Motomu Kiyokawa
One of the most wicked aliens in the universe, Alien Babalou kidnapped and impersonated Astra to steal the Ultra Key, the device that keeps the Land of Light in orbit, before coming to Earth. As a result, the Ultra Brothers branded Astra a traitor, leading to a vicious battle with Ultraman Leo (who continued to remain loyal to his brother, not knowing he was supporting an impostor) while the Ultra homeworld was sent on a collision course with Earth.

Among Ultraman Leo's most iconic and dangerous enemies, Alien Babalou has reappeared many times in other entries of the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'', where he remains a cunning and powerful foe who continues to use his shapeshifting abilities to sow havoc and distrust among humans and Ultras alike.
----
* ArmCannon: His left arm's bracer is equipped with a small one capable of launching small purple lasers.
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: He possesses a small switchblade on his right arm's bracer.
* BreakoutVillain: Babalou is probably the most frequently reappearing, as well as the most popular, of Ultraman Leo's enemies, not surprising given his manipulative nature and formidable combat abilities.
* ClimaxBoss: Can be seen as this for ''Leo'' due to not only being the last villain before Commander Black, but his plan also put the Land of Light in jeopardy instead of just Earth along with the need of both King and Astra to stop his plan.
* TheDreaded: Even before stealing the Ultra Key, he was already an infamous alien, which the Ultra Brothers were wary of till the point he is known as the ruler of the dark universe.
* EvilKnockoff: His main combat specialty and the general role in many of his appearances is to transform himself into an evil version of an Ultraman, such as Astra or [[Series/UltramanMebius Ultraman Hikari]], in order to sow distrust between human and Ultras, or Ultras and each other. His default form even had a chest timer, much like the Ultras.
* GrapplingHookGun: Comes with the arm cannon on his left bracer, serving to ensnare foes.
* HornedHumanoid: The two pointy horns sticking from his hair. According to one manga, they're the source of his shapeshifting powers.
* {{Jerkass}}: Babalou is cruel, aggressive, arrogant, and manipulative. He delights in the distrust and prejudice he creates in using his disguises for evil, even going as far as to use Leo's loyalty to his brother to deceive him into battling the Ultra Brothers.
* ManipulativeBastard: He uses the disguise of Astra to trick Ultraman Leo into battling the Ultra Brothers and assists him in the process. [[spoiler:If it wasn't for a timely reveal by Ultraman King, the Earth and the Land of Light would have both been destroyed.]]
* {{Shapeshifter}}: Like Alien Zarab of the original ''Series/{{Ultraman}}'' fame, he specializes in doing this. However, he's no wimp in combat once the heroes catch on to his disguise.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Babalou or Babarue?
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Black Star Aliens]]
!!Commander Black
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kuro_shirei.jpg]]

-->'''First Appearance''': MAC Annihilated! The Flying Saucer is a Living Creature!
-->'''Played by:''' Takeshi Obayashi
A sinister alien of mysterious origins who commands monsters known as the Flying Saucer Beasts. Commander Black is the BigBad for the final twelve episodes of the show, calling forth his minions from a sentient planet called the Black Star, with him and his monsters proving to be among Ultraman Leo's deadliest opponents in the series.
----
* ArtifactOfDoom: His crystal ball summoned the Flying Saucer Beasts, Bunyo, and the Black Star itself.
* BadassCape: Wears a transparent black cape that flows around as he's commanding his monsters.
* BeardOfEvil: Sports a very villainous-looking goatee.
* TheBeastmaster: He's the commander of the Flying Saucer Beasts.
* BigBad: Becomes this with his arrival as the series didn't really have one previously.
* CombatPragmatist: Commander Black does ''not'' fight fair in the slightest, and will take any openning he can find to get an edge in a fight.
* CrystalBall: He carries one that is used to call forth the Flying Saucer Beasts from the Black Star.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: His debut has him [[spoiler:[[HeroKiller wipe all of MAC out and kill an entire shopping mall full of people]] with Silver Bloom...while calmly walking through the panicked civilians before giving a SlasherSmile.]]
* EvilIsHammy: While we don't hear him speak very much early on, his habit dramatically announcing the names of the next Flying Saucer Beast would certainly qualify him for it.
* EvilWearsBlack: From the hat to the cape to the tip of his boots.
* GenreSavvy: Whereas most ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' aliens will see humans as too puny to be of any threat to them and end up defeated because of that assumption, Commander Black ''knows'' that a defense team can legitimately be a threat and [[spoiler:takes MAC down before they can even know of his invasion plans]].
* GlassCannon: A deadly, cunning enemy who's not physically strong. ''Children'' took him down!
* HateSink: There's '''absolutely nothing''' redeeming about Commander Black, with each and every last ten episodes of the series depicting him as nothing but pure scum. His [[spoiler: eventual death in the last episode is treated as a moment of awesome in the entire series]].
* HeroKiller: [[spoiler:Kills all of MAC in his ''first appearance''. He later temporarily kills Leo by hacking him to pieces.]]
* HollywoodHeartAttack: When he got separated from his crystal ball, before he melted, he clutched his chest and extended his other arm skyward while contorting his body, just like the stereotypical sufferer of a heart attack.
* HumanAliens: When his face is finally revealed, he looks very much like a human.
* ImMelting: [[spoiler:Dissolves into foam after being killed by Tooru and his friends.]]
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler:Repeatedly endangers the children Leo has befriended and uses one as a hostage for the FinalBattle. Those kids proceed to beat him to death.]]
* KnightOfCerebus: The series was already dark, this guy took it to a whole other level. To point: before his debut is over, he's already gotten a double digit body count.
* LooksLikeCesare: In his original appearance, more obvious when he's dying.
* NoNonsenseNemesis: One of the most dangerous things about Commander Black is he does ''not'' mess around in the slightest. To note, his ''first'' appearance [[spoiler:had him ambush MAC in their base and become the only villain in the franchise to successfully wipe out the Ultra's support group before Leo even knew he ''existed''.]] Each of his monsters is extremely lethal, often having a huge body count, and both Black and his creations have next to no hesitation of exploiting knowing Leo's SecretIdentity to get an edge on him. [[spoiler:When he finally has Leo at his mercy thanks to Bunyo, he freezes him to keep him restrained and instantly executes him by hacking him to pieces.]]
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Normally just commands his monsters from a distance and doesn't fight Leo himself. Justified, as while capable of jumping far distances, he's ultimately overwhelmed by ''children'', so he wouldn't be much of a match for Leo. Subverted in the manga adaptation, where he grows giant to fight Leo himself.
* {{Sadist}}: It's quite clear Black ''really'' enjoys what he's doing while murdering hundreds of people and [[spoiler:slicing Leo to pieces]].
* SlasherSmile: Flashes many, both subtle and completely psychotic.
* SoulJar: Losing his crystal ball accelerated his death.
* TakingYouWithMe: [[spoiler:When he's killed, the Black Star attempts a ColonyDrop in an attempt to take the earth with him. Fortunately, Leo blows it up.]]
* TheVillainKnowsWhereYouLive: He's aware of Leo's SecretIdentity and makes ''very'' good use of that fact.
* WouldHurtAChild: Repeatedly has his monsters target Leo's young friends to get at him. In Leo's battle with Black End during the finale, he threatens to kill Tooru in an attempt to demoralize the hero and let his monster win. It ''almost'' works.

!Flying Saucer Beasts in General
Also known as the Living Saucers, Saucer Creatures, and similar titles, the Flying Saucer Beasts are a class of alien kaiju that can transform into flying saucers (or assume an approximate form to one) for space travel. They all serve Commander Black, who calls them forth from a sentient planet known as the Black Star. Most of them debuted in this series, with one additional Flying Saucer Beast being introduced in ''Series/UltramanMebius'' (and detailed on that series' characters page).
----
* TheDragon: All eleven of them are this to Commander Black, albeit consecutively instead of simultaneously.
* FlyingSaucer: As their name suggests, they assume the form of flying saucers to travel.
* FlyingSeafoodSpecial: Many of them resemble flying versions of sea creatures like jellyfish, crabs, sea stars, and clams.

!!Silver Bloome
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/silver_bloome_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': MAC Annihilated! The Flying Saucer is a Living Creature!
The first of the Flying Saucer Beasts to be sent to Earth, the jellyfish-like Silver Bloome quickly showed off how much more lethal these monsters were compared to Leo's previous foes through a real [[WhamEpisode whammy]] of an introductory rampage that dealt deep blows to Gen and Tooru.
----
* BigEater: [[spoiler:Eats the MAC space station!]].
* CombatTentacles: Relies on these in battle, as well as to wrap around anything it desires to consume.
* {{Expy}}: Appears to be based on Toho's flying jellyfish monster, Film/{{Dogora}}, sharing similar traits such as attack tentacles, sizeshifting abilities, and a massive mouth which it used to swallow it's victims whole.
* FlyingSeafoodSpecial: A gigantic jellyfish.
* GuttedLikeAFish: [[spoiler: Ultraman Leo rips his insides out at the conclusion of their penultimate battle]].
* KnightOfCerebus: As the very first of the Flying Saucer Beasts, Silver Bloome shows how dark things are getting by [[spoiler:killing all of MAC (except Gen), Momoko, Kaoru, and Takeshi within the first 6 minutes of the episode.]]
* OddNameOut: Silver Bloome is the only member of the Saucer Beasts who is named from a different colour besides black; every other creature is either "Black '''X'''" or no colour at all.
* PoisonousPerson: Silver Bloome can spew a highly flammable, toxic liquid from its mouth. However, rainwater seems to dilute this, as Leo's BattleInTheRain with the monster sees him and some kids get splashed by the stuff with no effect.
* {{Sizeshifter}}: Makes itself tiny, which it does to hide from Ultraman Leo for most of the episode.
* SwallowedWhole: Silve Bloome can consume nearly anything completely, increasing the size of its mouth as appropriate.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Can transform itself into a rock shaped like a flying saucer. Tooru and his friends discover it and bring it to class, where Silver Bloome shifts into its small form and attacks their teacher later on.

!!Black Dome
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/black_dome.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Flying Saucer Beast From an Evil Planet is Here!
The second Flying Saucer Beast to come to Earth. The crustacean-shaped Black Dome caused trouble by injuring the family of one of Tooru's friends, Oba, when the kids accidentally attracted its attention in an attempt to try make contact with alien spacecraft.
----
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: After Leo uses his Leo Spark on Black Dome's mouth, the monster's digestive enzymes begin bursting out of his body, and this process appears to be especially painful. Fortunately, Leo quickly puts Black Dome out of his misery by using the Shooting Beam to blow the monster to pieces.
* FlyingSeafoodSpecial: A crab.
* GiantEnemyCrab: Based on horseshoe crabs and fiddler crabs to be exact.

* SuperSpit: Black Dome spits a light blue-green foam containing the digestive enzyme pepsin, capable of turning apartments into mush within minutes.

!!Absorba
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/absorba2.jpg]]

* FlyingSeafoodSpecial: Another gigantic jellyfish, just like Silver Bloome.
* ManipulativeBastard: Takes advantage of a boy's love for animals to be sheltered in a small shed when not rampaging.
* MeaningfulName: Absorba ''absorbs'' oil to gain its fire powers.

* {{Sizeshifter}}: Takes on a small form when hiding.
* UngratefulBastard: [[WouldHurtAChild Attempts to kill the kid taking care of it, burning down his shed and killing a few of his animals in the process too!]]

!!Deemos
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/deemos_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Challenge! Terror of the Vampiric Saucer!
The fourth Flying Saucer Beast, this one resembling a monstrous brittle star. 1080----
* AcidAttack: Spits acid from its midsection that is able to dissolve a human in seconds.
* AsteroidsMonster: Deemos can split into tiny versions of itself to drink human blood. Additionally, when Deemos is blown into pieces, its various bits simply take a life of their own.
* CombatTentacles: Equipped with 7 of these.
* FlyingSeafoodSpecial: An enormous brittle star.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: Another Ultra monster with vampire-like traits, but it feeds on blood by splitting into lots of hard-to-see small forms that attack humans by hiding in unexpected places.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Deemos or Demos?

!!Black Garon
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blackgaron2.jpg]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Shooting Star from Hell
The fifth Flying Saucer Beast called forth from the Black Star. Resembling a cross between a toad and a turtle, Black Garon arrived on Earth disguised as a meteorite in order to hide itself from Ultraman Leo and be taken in by an unwitting scientist until the time was right to strike.
----
* HandBlast: Black Garon is able to fire a shower of explosive sparks from the ends of its arms.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Black Garon had toad features mixed with turtle qualities.
* OverlyLongTongue: Works as a rope or a whip to smash structures or entangle Ultraman Leo for combat.
* TongueTrauma: [[spoiler: At the conclusion of his battle with Leo, Leo chops off his tongue, which somehow leads to the entire tongue exploding with enough force to kill Black Garon]].
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Disguises itself as a lumpy meteorite for most of the episode, hiding in a science laboratory.

!!Blizzard
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blizzard_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Phantom Girl
The sixth Flying Saucer Beast. The bizarre-looking, two-faced Blizzard assumed the form of a small and mute girl named Mayuko who carried about an eerie doll that breathes freezing gas in order to assassinate scientists that were trying to learn more about the Black Star.
----
* AnIcePerson: Both in human and monster form, Blizzard can spray freezing gas.
* ChestBlaster: Blizzard's fire and ice attacks are emitted from an orb-shaped structure on its stomach.

* CreepyDoll: Mayuko carries one that breathes freezing gas.
* DeadPersonImpersonation: It is implied in the episode that Mayuko was actually a dead child that Blizzard took the form upon, not unlike [[Series/UltramanAce Vakishim]] a few years earlier.
* PlayingWithFire: Blizzard can also shoot out fire.
* RedOniBlueOni: Blizzard's design invokes this, with one side of its body being red and having fire powers and the other side being blue with ice powers.
* TwoFaced: Much like Ashuran from earlier, Blizzard has a face on the front and another on the back. The front has a blue outline and manipulates ice, while the back is red and control fire.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Takes on the form of a little girl named Mayuko for most of the episode.

!!Hangler
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hangler_i.jpg]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Fighting Leo Brothers! End of the Flying Saucer Beast!
The seventh Flying Saucer Beast summoned to Earth, this one bearing a resemblance to an anglerfish. Hangler attacked cars by disguising itself as a tunnel with a mysteriously out-of-place traffic light in order to devour drivers and their vehicles under the cover of night.
----
* BigEater: Devours an entire highway of cars trapped in a traffic jam in one scene.
* BreathWeapon: Breathes fire.
* EatMe: [[spoiler:Astra helps Leo defeat Hangler by flying inside the monster's mouth and somehow causing it to explode from within.]]
* FlyingSeafoodSpecial: Since it's a Flying Saucer Beast, although based on a fish instead of an invertebrate.
* LuringInPrey: Hangler's lure is disguised as a mysteriously misplaced traffic light, leading unsuspecting drivers into its cavernous mouth.
* PunnyName: Hangler's Japanese name "Hungura" is a combination of the Japanese pronunciations of "hungry" and "angler".
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Also spelled as Hungler and Hanglar.
* TunnelKing: A capable burrower, sticking out only its maw and lure from the earth to create the illusion of a tunnel at night.
* VacuumMouth: Hangler's preferred tactic of consuming vehicles is simply sucking them up through its mouth.

!!Black Terrina
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/black_terrina.jpg]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Girl Who Collected the Stardust of Demons
The eighth Flying Saucer Beast, which resembled a tentacled clam. Black Terrina initiated its assault on Japan by sending small versions of itself that resembled normal but beautiful seashells. These shells were then unwittingly distributed by a little girl named Mariko, upon which they attacked people.
----
* AchillesHeel: Being a clam, Black Terrina has a soft body underneath the shell. When Leo manages to get a hold of it, his beatings result in serious injury for Black Terrina.
* AlienBlood: He bleeds blue and yellow blood.
* BreathWeapon: Spits an explosive shower of sparks from within its shell.
* CombatTentacles: Has about six tentacles growing from the inside of its shell, with four of them ending in claws.
* EyeScream: Black Terrina's minions jump at people's eyes, clamping into them and causing horrible bleeding. Even Gen was pretty hurt when one managed to get him.
* FlyingSeafoodSpecial: A clam-based kaiju.
* GuttedLikeAFish: [[spoiler:After Terrina gets weakened by being [[ShockAndAwe electrocuted by a power transformer]], its shell pops open, and Leo takes action, immediately ripping out Terrina's insides with his ''bare hands'', resulting in plenty of Terrina's blood splashing on Leo's face]].
* TheJuggernaut: As a clam-based monster, Black Terrina's shell rendered completely immune to Ultraman Leo's {{Finishing Move}}s. But once he gets a hold on Terrina's insides, the tables are turned.
* MindControl: The tiny Terrinas do this to victims they attack.
* MookMaker: Conjures tiny versions of itself that resemble very pretty but perfectly ordinary seashells until they attack. Unfortunately, one little girl thought they were beautiful enough to be given to everyone in Tokyo...

!!Satan Moa
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/satan_mora_i.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Giant Saucer Bird Attacks Tokyo
The ninth Flying Saucer Beast to attack Earth and a decidedly avian creature. Satan Moa launched its assault on Tokyo by spawning tiny versions of itself to peck people to death while it attempted to use its beak to knock down a skyscraper full of people that Gen happened to be inside at the time.
----
* BeakAttack: Asides from its little minions attacking civilians on the streets, Satan Moa uses its beak like a giant woodpecker on a skyscraper full of screaming people to cause mass panic.
* BlindedByTheLight: Satan Moa can make powerful flashes of light from its shoulder to blind enemies.
* BreathWeapon: Able to spit out organic missiles from its beak.
* EyeBeams: Can fire a pair of highly accurate lasers from its eyes capable of shooting down planes.
* GiantFlyer: As the only bird-based Flying Saucer Beast, which is rather strange as its named after a type of flightless bird (although its motif is meant to be a woodpecker).
* KickTheDog: Satan Moa makes a building (luckily, a ConvenientlyEmptyBuilding - there's a few interior shots for good measure) collapse during it's battle with Leo, and as Leo uses his body to hold the building in place (to prevent civilians from getting crushed) the monster gleefully uses this opportunity to continue roughing up Leo with it's beak!
* MixAndMatchCritters: While Satan Moa is a bird-themed kaiju (evidenced by it's name), it's wings resemble closer to bats. It's body design also have an Arthropod look resembling insects.
* MookMaker: Creates tiny versions of itself that fly out of its chest to peck civilians in an assault that would make Alfred Hitchcock proud.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Sometimes called Satan Mora.

!!Nova
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nova_movie.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Red Assassin That Beckons Death!
The tenth Flying Saucer Beast that Commander Black summons. The bizarre Nova disguised itself as a red TeruTeruBozu, letting itself be discovered by an unhappy Tooru before taking control of the boy to create illusions of his deceased family for him and spraying its red insanity gas at all who approached.

Noted as one of the weirdest {{kaiju}} ever made for the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'', Nova has become the most iconic of the Flying Saucer Beasts and has consequently made several other appearances in the franchise. It is one of the very few ''Series/UltramanLeo'' kaiju (rather than aliens) that the producers have ever brought back with notable reappearances including ''Series/UltramanMebius'' and ''Series/UltramanOrb''.
----
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Yes, it looks silly, but Nova is a very dangerous monster and among the most powerful Flying Saucer Beasts.
* BreakoutVillain: Along with Alien Magma and Alien Babalou, Nova is considered one of the "mascot monsters" of ''Ultraman Leo'', and is by far the most famous of the Saucer Monsters, other than Silver Bloome. Its sheer weirdness probably helps with the memorability.
* BreathWeapon: Asides from the insanity gas, Nova can shoot fireballs from its mouth. These fireballs split into smaller ones upon impact to generate a series of explosions.
* ClimaxBoss: Of Tooru Umeda Character arc. For most of the series, especially the black star aliens arc, he has been haunted by what he has lost, and in the episode itself he's basically given up on life which allows Nova to take control of him. However, thanks to the love of his adopted family he is able to break free of Nova, and finally move on.
* CombatTentacles: Nova's right hand is a cluster of whip-like tentacles that are able to stretch out to impressive lengths.
* EyeBeams: Able to fire a pair of blue lasers from its eyes.
* HatePlague: Nova's signature ability is its deadly "Red Crazy Gas", that cause humans to turn violently insane. Against Ultras it functions more as a smokescreen.
* MeaningfulName: Nova is the ninth Saucer Beast to appear in the series in general, and appropriately enough "Nova" is a variation of "nine" in old English. Averted in it's future appearances however.
* MindControl: What it does Tooru, by latching itself onto his shoulder, causing him to see illusions of his deceased family beckoning him.
* OurMonstersAreWeird: Giant, red TeruTeruBozu that breathes insanity gas and turns into a flying saucer...You gotta wonder where the monster designers come up with these ideas sometimes.
* RedIsViolent: Asides from being a very dangerous kaiju, there's also the red insanity gas, as well as the Red Zone that Nova summoned in its final fight with Ultraman Leo, blotting out the sun and casting the battlefield with a malevolent red glow, where even the rain is red.
* SinisterScythe: Nova's left hand is a giant sickle.
* {{Sizeshifter}}: Can turn itself into a smaller form that can be mistake for a TeruTeruBozu. The illusion goes away once the little guy starts spraying insanity gas at people though.
* SpinAttack: Nova transforms into flying saucer mode by spinning its body about into a disc-like shape. In flying saucer form, Nova is able to slam into foes at high speeds.
* TeruTeruBozu: Nova's inspiration. Goes to show you can make anything into a kaiju.

!!Alien Bunyo
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bunyo.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Leo's Life! The King's Miracle!
-->'''Voiced by:''' Keizo Kanie (also human form actor)
An alien mercenary hired by Commander Black when he was down to his last Flying Saucer Beast. Although Commander Black was unimpressed by the alien's goofy mannerisms and attitude, Bunyo had a foolproof plan to defeat Ultraman Leo and soon proved himself to be one of the hero's deadliest foes.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: It's not made clear if he's an alien from planet Bunyo or a Flying Saucer Beast, further muddled by the fact that he doesn't have a saucer form despite bearing the subtitle. Supplementary materials usually lists him among the Saucer Beasts due to being sent by the Black Star.
* AxCrazy: Made most clear when he kidnaps Ms. Miyama while cackling manically, warning Gen and Tooru not to call the police or he'll kill her. Then there's when [[spoiler:he and Commander Black hack Ultraman Leo to pieces with a saw.]]
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Bunyo proved to be one of Ultraman Leo's most formidable enemies despite his silly behavior and design. Even Commander Black was impressed.
* BreathWeapon: Asides from his slime, he also spits showers of explosive sparks.
* CurbStompBattle: Gave a serious beatdown to a defenseless, frozen Leo.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Sure, Bunyo acts friendly and silly, but if you don't watch your back, you're probably not going to live much longer.
* HeroKiller: [[spoiler:He and Commander Black manage to capture Gen and chop Ultraman Leo into pieces! Fortunately, Ultraman King showed up at the last minute to save Leo.]]
* ImMelting: He dissolves into a puddle of slime upon death.
* LittleGreenMen: His normal form, complete with antennae.
* MeaningfulName: "Bunyo" is the Japanese onomatopoeia for something bouncy, echoing his gelatinous, boneless appearance.
* MoodWhiplash: His antics were sometimes chuckle-inducing (notice his first encounter with Gen); the outcome, dead serious.
* MorphicResonance: His human form is dressed in a green hoodie, echoing his appearance in his true form.
* OffWithHisHead: [[spoiler:Ultraman Leo defeats him by kicking his head off his shoulders with a well-placed Leo Kick.]]
* OverlyLongTongue: Used to strangle Leo.
* PsychoForHire: Commander Black brought him in to kill Ultraman Leo after Black End was all he had left.
* SlipperySkid: Can spit out dark green slippery slime, which it used to trip up Leo during their battle.
* SuperSpit: Bunyo can spit great quantities of an oil-like substance to knock opponents off balance and make standing difficult. His skin is coated in smaller quantities of a similar substance as protection against attacks.
* VileVillainLaughableLackey: He's far sillier than his no-nonsense boss, though he quickly makes it clear that "vile" and "laughable" aren't mutually exclusive descriptions of him.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: He feigned injury to attack Gen (as soon as he discovered Gen was Leo) and to kidnap Sakiko Miyama.

!!Black End
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/black_end.png]]

-->'''First Appearance''': Goodbye, Leo! Journey to the Sun!
The last and mightiest of the Flying Saucer Beasts. Commander Black wanted the dragon-like Black End to defeat Ultraman Leo above all else and the Black Star followed close behind, all while Gen began to question if the world really needed Ultraman Leo after all the death and suffering the monsters coming after him had brought.
----
* AimForTheHorn: Black End has tusks all over it's body, two on the front and two in the back. Leo rips off the two back tusks and later on Black End falls flat on it's face, breaking it's front tusks as well.
* ArmlessBiped: Presumably, Black End's tail serves as balance.
* BewareMyStingerTail: Its tail has a pincer that can be used to grab foes.
* BreathWeapon: A stream of fire.
* {{Cephalothorax}}: Black End is pretty much a little head on a big body with legs and a tail.
* {{Dracolich}}: Part of it's design inspiration, as the monster have a draconic skull for a head.
* FinalBoss: Largest and strongest of all the Saucer Beasts, and the very last enemy Ultraman Leo needs to face in his series.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: [[spoiler:Leo kills Black End tearing off two of its spikes and stuffing them into the monster's mouth before finishing it off.]]
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: The name also signifies how it is the final monster in the show, as well as for the next five years (in-universe and in real-time).
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Black End is designed to be something akin to a dragon.
* PokemonSpeak: Tried to lure Leo into a fight by hollering, [[SayMyName "Leo! Leo!"]]
* RedEyesTakeWarning: The very last Saucer Beast, with glowing red eyes to show it means business.
* SkullForAHead: It's head somewhat resembles a draconic skull.
* SpikesOfDoom: Black End has a number of these that can pop out of the black spots on its body whenever needed. They're also able to rotate.
* TunnelKing: Commander Black gets the monster to hide underground while waiting for Ultraman Leo to come out and face the monster.
