[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omen_20.png]]
Tropes applying to the whole team:
* AdaptationalHeroism: While technically this doesn't apply to Oscar, the rest of Team OMEN has definitely become more heroic.
* AntiHero: Each of them were working with the villains at some point, and their commitment to the cause is less about what is morally good, and a bit more of personal vendetta driven.
* AntiHeroTeam: Oh, ''absolutely.''
* BigDamnHeroes: An inversion of it, as the event isn't directly shown, but the team does crash the Vacuo charity ball in a ''very'' dramatic fashion.
* CombatPragmatist: In a world full of sniper rifles and incredibly extra fighting styles, what really gives the team a leg up is their willingness to do some incredibly dirty and stupid things in order to win.
* FamilyOfChoice: After everything they've had to slog through together, it would only make sense.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: To some extent. Neo is Sanguine, Emerald is Chloeric, Mercury is Melancholic, and Oscar is Phlegmatic, though there are some variations.
* GoodIsNotSoft: They may be trying to stop Salem, but they will break some teeth while doing so.
* JustifiedCriminal: The only reason they stole the Vacuo catacomb blueprints was so that a spy in the council wouldn't get to it first.
* LovableRogue: The whole team, but special shoutout to Neo, who's cute and charming demeanor can't help but make you root for her.
* RagTagBunchOfMisfits: An ex-experiment, an assassin's son, a master thief, and a con-woman? They fit this trope to a T.
* TheChessmaster: Shades of it.
* TheRival: They serve as it to Team [[TheHero RWBY.]]

The leader (Sort of) of Team OMEN. For more information on him, see [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/RWBYFriendsAndAllies his canon character page.]]

* AdaptationalJerkass: Downplayed. Despite his more cynical outlook, he is still polite to those he meets, but he has his moments.
** Special shoutout to the first time he met Whitley, who he deliberately pushed where it would hurt, mocking him about his father.
-->“You’re no better than your dad, you know that?” Oscar remarked.
* BreakTheCutie: Oscar has this in ''spades.''
* ByronicHero: Due to his time with Salem.
* GentlemanThief: Pulls on this trope while he was stealing the blueprints.
* GoodIsNotSoft: Oscar, more than anyone in the team, wants to do the right thing to make up for his anger and hatred leading him into Salem's clutches. This doesn't make him any nicer, however.
* KnightInSourArmor: He fits this trope the most out of his team.
* LovecraftianSuperpower: His grimm powers allow him to regenerate and use magic, at the cost of growing on his own flesh and consuming him from the inside out. [[spoiler: It's hinted at that not even Ruby's silver eyes can fix it.]]
* ManipulativeBastard: Shows shades of it during the Vacuo break in, according to Ruby.
* MysticalWhiteHair: Due to the affects of the grimm in him, his hair turned white, just like Salem's. It's a bit of a sore spot.
* OnlySaneMan: Often plays this role, switching off with Emerald.
* RedIsViolent: His primary color after Ozpin's departure from his head becomes red, instead of Ozpin's green, or the orange he wore before. Essentially, he's become a more extreme version of himself, as red is much more bold than orange.
* ScarsAreForever: Even after the grimm is purified out of him, it still left permanent scars on his face.
* TheRival: To Ruby.
** Subverted, as neither of them really want to fight, but end up doing so because they both believe the other hates them.
* TookALevelInJerkass: See above. Again, it's downplayed, and only in select moments.
* TragicHero: His overly emotional tendencies are what Salem uses to manipulate him.
* UnscrupulousHero: Stealing stuff? Not cool. Stealing stuff to prevent others from doing so? A bit more excusable.

[[folder: Mercury Black]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omen_mercury_7.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:"The economy is in shambles."]]

The brawn of the team, and the one who often comes up with the craziest plans. For more information on him, go see [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/RWBYSalemsFaction his canon character page.]]

* ArtificialLimbs: He has metal legs.
* BloodKnight: Seems to enjoy fighting the most out of everyone.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: So much so, that he inacts a rule that the team wouldn't talk about their respective pasts. Of course, as shown in 'after the con' it's clear that [[ForegoneConclusion someone eventually decided the rule was dumb.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: While it applies to the whole team, Mercury definitely does this the most.
* DefrostingTheIceQueen: Gender inverted example, as Mercury starts out cold but gets better as the story goes on, as shown by how open he was during ''after the con''.
* GoodIsNotSoft: Mercury is a trained assassin, having killed his own father by the time he was fourteen - and now is fighting against evil. Yeah.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: Yes, he's a sassy asshole and probably cares the least about the world, but he will fight tooth and nail to protect his friends. (Even if he'd never say that to them, of course.)
** Shown in 'sunlit streets of fool's gold' as he shares a tender moment with Emerald, admiring the sunny sky.
->(And if Mercury saved Emerald’s picture onto his scroll on the way there? Well, no one would be the wiser. It wasn’t like he thought she looked nice in it or anything.)
* HeroicNeutral: His initial reasons for joining up with team OMEN are that he just wants to survive, though [[FamilyOfChoice he sticks around for other reasons soon after.]]
* ImpossiblyCoolClothes: Lampshaded, when Mercury remarks on how hot his BadassLongcoat is.
-->It was Vacuo, they had probably seen weirder. The air was dry and hot, and Mercury silently thanked Neo for the genius idea to weave ice dust into his trenchcoat.
* LoveRedeems: His relationship with Emerald, both as friends and possibly something more, as well as his positive bonds with Neo and Oscar is what motivated him to finally break the cycle of abuse he was perpetuating.
* SourOutsideSadInside: The [[AbusiveParents abuse]] at the hands of his father and Salem have all left him with crippling low self-esteem, and severe trust issues, which he covers up by trying to act tough.
* StepfordSnarker: He jokes around and acts cocky most of the time to cover the fact that he's rather sad and lonely, being taught that feelings were just a weakness.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omen_emerald_1.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:“Pro tip - don’t snatch wallets from people who are armed - or did you not see the guns strapped to my back?”]]

The brains of the team, and often the voice of reason, usually proposing a stealthier approach to their problems. For more information, visit her [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/RWBYSalemsFaction canon character page.]]

* BrokenBird: Shades of this due to her abandonment issues and life on the streets.
* CombatPragmatist: Her fighting style tends to rely on this.
* DeadpanSnarker: Most of Emerald's dialogue is delivered with her signature dry wit.
--> (To Mercury) “No, you are stupid.” Emerald smirked. “I’m just shocked something intelligent came out of your mouth for once.”
* FemmeFatale: Shades of this.
* FiveFingerDiscount: A master of pickpocketing, Emerald employs this trope often.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: While it's less hidden than [[BloodKnight Mercury]] or [[ChaoticNeutral Neo]], she definitely has her moments where she breaks away from her snarky persona to try and help the others, so much so that she inadvertently seems to have become the emotional core of the team, evidenced by [[BeneathTheMask Neo coming to her for emotinal advice on her guilt about her actions in Vale.]]
* IMissMom: One of the main reasons why she joined up with Cinder, and why it was so hard to leave, as she saw Cinder as the mother she never had.
* ImpossiblyCoolClothes: Like in the show, Emerald's outfit, while fashionable, isn't very practical, as kicking people while wearing thigh-highs and running around in heels isn't exactly the most comfortable thing ever.
* KleptomaniacHero: Due to her upbringing in the streets of Vacuo, she had to steal in order to survive, a fact she is all too eager to flaunt.
-->“Don’t always need to.” Emerald replied, giving the man the stink eye. “If you know what you’re doing, your mark won’t even notice.” With that, they headed south, but not before Emerald cheekily held up the man’s watch. “Like that.”
* MasterOfIllusion: Like in canon, her Semblance allows her to make people see things that aren't there.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Often joins in on the insanity her friends are suggesting, and shows that she's NotSoStoic at times.
** She happily draws her weapon and threatens to attack Whitley after he pissed Neo off.
** She sends the group chat a goofy selfie of her and Mercury.
* OnlySaneMan: Often plays the role, switching off with Oscar.
* SatisfiedStreetRat: Grew up in the streets of Vacuo, turning her into a master thief.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: She's cold and snarky to others, but warmer and a bit more caring with her teammates.
* TookALevelInKindness: The most out of the whole team, as she is the most cordial with people she doesn't know, although that could just be her putting on a front like she does in the show.

[[caption-width-right:350:''If you knew anything'' (about us) ''at all, you would know you’re pushing your luck here, kid.'']]

The mute wildcard of the team, who's often the schemer of plans. For more information, see her [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/RWBYSalemsFaction canon character page.]]

* BloodKnight: Same with Mercury, Neo loves a good fight, and cites that the only reason she's helping is because she wants a chance to fight Salem for what she did to Roman. [[FamilyOfChoice (That's how it starts, anyways.)]]
* CombatStilettos: Fights in a tall pair of heels. [[TheNapoleon (Possibly to compensate]] [[TinyTyrannicalGirl for something...)]]
* CreepyGood: Her utter silence, combined with her deadly fighting skills, make her somewhat terrifying.
* CuteMute: Downplayed. While her outfit and short stature are cute, her temperament and rather... strong language is very much not.
--> ''Save the sugar for someone who gives a shit about your ugly mug.'' Neo signed, annoyance painted all over her face.
* FemmeFatale: Her sweetness and charm is all a farce in order to get a leg up on people.
* FriendlyEnemy: Fairly chill with her enemies.
* GentlemanThief: Or gentlewoman thief in this case, as she out of everyone embodies this trope the best.
* GoodGirlGoneBad: Her backstory alludes to this.
* ImpracticallyFancyOutfit: Seriously, who fights in a full on suit?!
* KickingAssInAllHerFinery: She fights in a pristine suit and heels.
* LovableRogue: Her cheeky actions and suggestions of breaking the law are pretty charming.
* ParasolOfPain: Her umbrella, Hush, is her prime weapon in combat.
* TookALevelInKindness: Neo, by the furthest time in this series, is much more affable, and a bit more aware about her actions effect people.
* TheSpeechless: Due to her selective mutism, Neo is silent, and instead communicates through sign language.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: As shown in her flashbacks, she used to be a lot kinder when she was younger.
* WildCard: The most unpredictable of the team, Neo can, and gladly will, do something incredibly out of left field for things to go her way, much to the ire of her teammates.
* WickedCultured: As it seems like she came from high society, Neo dresses fancy, acts posh, and loves to kick people in the chin.
