%% Tropes in the main list should not be spoiler-tagged, potholed, or placed on second-level (or later) bullets. Each trope should get its own first-level bullet. If a trope name is inherently too spoilery, either don't list it, or work it into another trope as a pothole, which you can spoiler-tag.

%% Zero-context examples are not allowed. Please explain how a character fits the trope in question. For appearance/visual tropes, most have a personality component that can be described; RoseHairedSweetie, for example, is a character with pink hair AND a sweet personality. 17!!Kiyoyuki Irino
!!!Super High-School Level Seiyuu
[[quoteright:108:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seiyuu_5106.png]]
->''"This is probably the first real time I’ve taken a break from my career though. It can’t be helped. It requires a lot of practice. If you slack off even for a little bit… someone else will take your place. That’s how the business works."''

Meet the boy behind the voice whose stolen the hearts of teenage girls everywhere! Hailing from Monbetsu, Hokkaido, Kiyoyuki is a star constantly on the up and up. Containing a million voices from growling demons to grandfathers to cute little boys, he's acquired an impressive range at such a young age. At times, voiced pretty much whole casts! He has been in a variety of video games and anime the most popular of which is the magical boy shounen anime and game series ''Ike Ikemen X'', though die-hard gamers will know him from the RPG ''Eternal Fantasia''. He is the little brother of the popular model and actor, Irino Tetsuhiro. Articles reveal that his parents Ayumu and Miho respectively, are close to the business themselves, Ayumu owning his own karaoke bar the Common Starline and his mother working as a journalist. While the Irino family aren’t exactly rich they are certainly well-known and will only be getting more and more popularity from here on out. [[spoiler: He survives the final trial and escapes the prison.]]
----
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Has this kind of attitude near the start of the game, towards his [[AloofBigBrother big brother]] and some of the others. It seems to fade after his character development post Chapter 2 trial.
** His post-game write-up explains it a little more; His brother Tetsuhiro was TheAce at everything he did, including acting, which Kiyo wanted to do for a long time. However he couldn't get the parts he wanted because he didn't look the part, so in an effort to finally work himself to where he wanted to be, he dove headfirst into overexerting himself in all of his work and puts up a persona, if only to keep himself in one spot.
* ArousedByTheirVoice: Has this effect on Aiko and maybe Sumiko, at the very least. She notes that his natural speaking voice is smooth and pleasant to listen to.
* BecomingTheMask: After [[spoiler: Tetsuo]]'s death, he tries to emulate his bravery and behavior as best he can, but he ended up becoming an actually brave boy somewhere along the way.
* ChickMagnet: Pre-game he seemed to attract a lot of female attention for both his looks and his roles, even though he was shorter and thinner than the average male. In-game, he gets the attention of Aiko as well. If Kiyo's inner monologues are anything to go by, his brother was even ''worse'' with this.
* ConspicuousGloves: He is never seen without his black gloves.
* {{Determinator}}: Develops this sort of mindset near the end of the game. [[spoiler: He's all ''but'' hopeless once the information concerning the location for the cure to Despair Disease dies with Sumiko, as he's sure that the group can find the place even without assistance and won't rest until they do.]]
* FriendlessBackground: Has said on occasion he focused too much on work to make friends.
* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan: Is on the receiving end of this at the hands of Ozu during his breakdown following the commencement of the mutual killing game, complete with slap.
* TheHeart: Particularly following his character development, in Chapter 3; he's delivered several motivational speeches to the other students since, and genuinely seems to have gained a new strength, hope, and resolve to see as many students out of the place as he can.
--> '''Kiyoyuki:''' But… you … you’re alive. You can never ever underestimate that. You and I both need to work hard and stand up. Ihara-san would definitely be upset if she saw you this sad. And she deserves… she deserves more than this. She deserves justice. That’s something only we can give her, right? So will you help me? This is… this is the only way we can give them the rest they need.
* ImportantHaircut: Post-Chapter 2 trial, symbolic of ending his reliance on other people and doing things for himself.
--> '''Kiyoyuki:''' It's not about what Shingen-san would do... it's about... what I can do.
* {{Irony}}: Irino puts a lot of his faith in the masculine ideal, and definitely looks up to born-leader Tetsuo as a symbol of what to be as a man. Yet it is Irino-- the short, feminine looking worrywart and TheHeart of the team-- that ends up being the leader of the surviving inmates.
* IWantToBeARealMan: A major driving force in his character arc. He very much idolizes the masculine ideal and is disappointed in himself for not living up to it. He didn't like his "Kiyoyu" nickname for precisely that reason; because it made him seem weak and girly.
%%* LongHairedPrettyBoy: For a while.
* MeaningfulName: His surname (入野) matches that of the seiyuu Creator/MiyuIrino. His first name also has the kanji for "cleanse" (清), which he desperately tries to do [[spoiler: with his hands after destroying Tetsuhiro's Hope's Peak letter.]]
* ManOfAThousandVoices: He's voiced everything, from heroic shounen heroes to even girls at points. This ability also extends to people, as noted below.
* NiceGuy: By the first Chapter he's already helping out people who approach him or calming them down, but because he's not good with people he mostly associates his actions with how his characters would usually act. By the end of the game though, he's become a fully fledged "good guy" through and through.
* PrimaryColorChampion: Wears a yellow jacket and boots, a red tie, and has blue hair.
* ScrubbingOffTheTrauma: [[spoiler: After he ripped up his brother's Hope's Peak letter, he scrubbed his hands until they were raw and bleeding.]]
* StepfordSmiler: He puts on a facade of kindness and smiles to hide his massive paranoia over getting replaced and his insecurities over his feminine image.
%%* TearsOfFear: Several times, most noticeably in conversations with Akihito Ozu.
%%* TeenIdol: Both himself and his older brother, Tetsuhiro.
* VoiceChangeling: Well he ''is'' the SHSL Seiyuu, after all. At times he tends to imitate his fellow inmates, sometimes just to repeat something they said or even for some therapeutic value. He did so when Ozu was down about [[spoiler: Kyo]]'s death in Chapter 4.
* {{Workaholic}}: His fear of getting replaced led him to put his all into his work, leaving him with no time to relax or to socialize. In fact, by the time he got into prison, he describes this as his first actual break.

!!Eiji Iseri
!!!Super High-School Level Yokai Specialist
[[quoteright:108:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yokai_6766.png]]
->''"I-I don’t want to join your crew!"''

Although quite unhappy with his new city life, Eiji eventually worked up the inspiration to visit Mitsuishi shrine to see the fabled relic of “Oni no Tegata.” This visit and his talks with the shine keepers gave him the motivation to create something from his talent. He worked on a project for the Sansa Odori festival of the next year. He made illustrated Taiko drum covers based off of his knowledge of the tale. The new visuals caught the attention of many tourists and the popularity of the event fluctuated positively. Hope’s Peak looked into Eiji’s behind the scenes work and eventually found that he was a diligent reader and student of folklore and sent him and invitation to attend as the SHSL Yokai Specialist. [[spoiler: The first victim. Died of external bleeding on the head, stored in the fridge to be discovered by Kaitaro Kobayashi.]]
----
* ApologizesALot: He tends to get overly nervous during conversations, so he tries to apologize for his erratic behavior.
* BeadyEyedLoser: He's chubby, not very sociable (or at the very least very bad at it), and has some terrible self-esteem. All paired off with those dot eyes of his.
%%* BlackBeadEyes
* [[spoiler: ConversationCasualty: It was stated that Eiji's death happened during a normal conversation between him and Kemono at dinner. Originally, Kemono was going to kill both Kaitaro and Kiyoyuki, but due to some words spoken by Eiji Iseri, Kemono decided to end their life there.]]
* DoggedNiceGuy: [[spoiler: The only reason Eiji got into his profession is because of a little crush.]]
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: As is wont for a Danganronpa derivative, his design is the only one that looks noticeably different from the rest.
%%* TheShortGuyWithGlasses
* TinySchoolboy: Stands at a whopping 4'2" ''at 16 years old''. That's '''far''' under the average height of the rest of the students; Tetsuo is a full 2 feet taller. As strange as it is, this trope is part of the reason why Kaitaro was excited to meet him in the beginning; because they were glad to meet someone ''shorter'' than them.
* SacrificialLamb: Nice, seemingly harmless kid whose death brings the Killing Game to a reality for the inmates.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: An unfortunate consequence of being the first victim.

!!The Gingerbread Man
!!!Super High-School Level Informant
[[quoteright:108:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/informant_2153.png]]
->''"If yer askin’ fer a partnership, I’d shake hands with y’, but I ain’t no gumshoe. I just get information an’ use it. Kind of in the definition, y’ know?"''

If you hear the sounds of wheels turning and feel a rush of air sweep past, it is likely you have just crossed paths with the man who calls himself “The Gingerbread Man.” Whilst his alias takes a while to say, his speed on his bicycle or on his feet is unparalleled. Zipping from one place to another, he seems to always be getting tangled into one mess or another. The Gingerbread Man gained his fame when he happened to prevent a murder by delivering a message to the target quickly, and has since been informing potential victims and the police over all sorts of mischief and mayhem. His methods are questioned frequently, but it is rather clear that he is aiming to be on the side of modern day heroes. Whether it be robbers, killers, or some other type of criminal, he will be speeding away with a running mouth.

[[spoiler: He is the victim of Chapter 4]].
----
* DissonantLaughter: After finding [[spoiler:Tetsuo]]'s dead body, he bursts into an unnerving fit of laughter, finding a tragic sort of humor in [[spoiler:the game's justice symbol being taken down]].
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: Not even the audience learns his real name until well after the story's over.
%%* HeroicBSOD: See NotHimself.
* HypotheticalCasting: His roleplayer notes that, if he were to be voiced, his ''seiyuu'' would be Creator/MitsuhiroIchiki in Japanese, or Creator/SamRiegel in English.
* InSeriesNickname: Gingie. Though it seems to be a case of a nickname of a moniker, since nobody actually knows his real name.
* JadeColoredGlasses: Seems to be developing these as time passes.
%%* LaughingMad
%%* MysteriousInformant
%%* NotHimself: He doesn't exactly take Chapter 2's death well.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: First, his "Gingerbread Man" name, only to be seemingly subverted when he reveals his name to be [[IncrediblyLamePun John Dough]]. Goes right back to it once his birth name is finally revealed in the end.
* PointlessBandAid: ''Several''. And they're all multicolored, too!
* SecretIdentity: His real name is [[spoiler: Daisuke Suzuki.]]

!!Harper Michaels
!!!Super High-School Level Street Artist
[[quoteright:108:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/street_5715.png]]
->''"… can I interest you in a cup ‘f tea, Iwazumi-san? I’ve heard nobody makes it quite like the English."''

Guy with a TV on his head. Makes art, on occasion. [[spoiler: He survives the final trial and escapes prison.]]
----
* {{Emoticon}}: How he expresses himself, via the display on his TV.
* TheFaceless: Due to the TV on his head. Turns out this is deliberate -- mostly because of his illegal graffiti, but also to hide his assigned sex.
%%* FunnyForeigner: Presumably in design only.
* FunTShirt: Seems to have a fondness for these. Has [[MyEyesAreUpHere My Face Is Up Here]] on his usual one, though given his 'face' and other things, it's hardly being played straight. He seems inordinately delighted with the gift of another from Sumiko, having been blown away by its '[[SoBadItsGood unbelievable shittiness]]'.
* HatesBeingTouched: Whenever someone even so much as held his hand, he went into a small panic attack. He's starting to become more open to the idea by the end, but coming up to him and touching him by surprise still freaks him out a little.
* InSeriesNickname: Appropriately, Mike TV.
* LanguageBarrier: Hails from Britain and admits to not being very fluent in Japanese.
* LeParkour: Surprisingly proficient in this!
* MeaningfulName: His name as assigned at birth, [[spoiler: Kalpana]], means [[spoiler: 'imagining' or 'fantasy' in Sanskrit.]]
** As an aside, his sister's name, Priya, means 'beloved' in the same language - appropriate, considering how much he seems to care for her.
* NoPeripheralVision: Due to the TV.
* PrettyBoy: What he looks like [[http://rouletterampagereloaded.tumblr.com/post/113001047270/so-what-does-our-tv-head-friend-look-like-without under his TV head]].
* TheQuietOne: Chill as hell, and content not to speak much unless spoken to. May or may not have to do with the LanguageBarrier; from the way it's described IC, the translation program is a little difficult to get used to.
%%* RedOniBlueOni: With Akihito. Harper's the blue oni.
* SecretIdentity: Mike TV functions as this. His art is technically illegal, so this is more of a necessity than anything else.
* ShoutOut: His nickname, "Mike TV", is one to Mike Teavee, from [[Literature/CharlieAndTheChocolateFactory another story where a group of bad and naughty children get punished in thematically appropriate ways.]] His character as a whole is probably a nod to Creator/{{Banksy}}, too.
* TranslatorBuddy: To Antoinette, due to the translation software in his TV. He's the only one that can understand her when she speaks in her native language. Possible [[CloudCuckoolandersMinder Cloud Cuckoolander's Minder]].

!!Kyo Otonomiya
!!!Super High-School Level Virtuoso
[[quoteright:108:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/virtuoso_4109.png]]
->''"Regardless of what has happened and what might happen, you have to remember that these are our classmates; respected individuals that we were meant to share our school lives with."''

Having descended from a world-renowned line of classical musicians with roots in Germany’s Romantic era, Kyo Otonomiya’s lot in life was assumed to be set in stone from the moment he was born. By the age of 10, the boy was already winning accolades that would put grown virtuosos to shame, including stealing grand prize at various WFIMC events. Kyo’s blind love for classical music would continue until the age of 13, when he discovered that his true passions lied in the heavy metal genre. After a year of reigning over Tokyo’s underground scene as Akaki Bouji - the ''Red Dead Child'', Kyo was finally sought out by one of Japan’s top talent agents, Yoshino Hijiri, who insisted on offering him a monopoly on her services as both a manager and audio engineer. With her support, the virtuoso once again took Japan and the world by storm with his golden combination of raw passion and technical prowess, just as he did as a child. [[spoiler: He is executed by Monobear for attacking him in a blind fit of rage.]]
----
* AccidentalPervert: If his unintentional lapses into innuendo when talking about music are any indication... and his reaction to Nana's [[CooldownHug hug]].
** Once more when he happens to receive Nana's underwear from the Monomono Machine.
--> He is burning.
* TheAce: Hails from a family that is this in the field of classical music. Kyo himself is no slouch, having won grand prize at several WFIMC events by the age of 10 before moving on to become a big name in the {{Heavy Metal}} genre.
* AnOddPlaceToSleep: His first order of business upon waking up in an underwater facility is to fall asleep on a break room couch...
* BlindWithoutEm: [[spoiler: Or in this case, deaf: Kyo's headphones function as hearing aids; he's practically deaf.]]
* ButNotTooForeign: Is part German by ancestry.
* CulturedBadass
* CurbstompBattle: On the receiving end of this in Chapter 4, after challenging Monobear in a blind fit of rage. [[spoiler: Monobear and his duplicates beat him to a bloody pulp as punishment.]]
* DeathSeeker: At least, that's how Ozu sees his apparent [[spoiler: death by Monobear]]. He cites that after all Kyo's done to let him not throw his life away, in the end, Kyo might have just been tired of the whole game.
* DeclarationOfProtection: To Nana, in the wake of [[spoiler: Tetsuo's passing]].
-->'''Kyo:''' Please do not apologize, much less ever assume that you are alone here. You could despise me for all I care, but I will still come running should you ever find yourself in need; starting with [[spoiler: bringing justice to Shingen]]. That is a promise.
* DisproportionateRetribution: When he punches Kaitaro for speaking callously to Nana -- being verbally cruel is one thing, but [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill punching a kid you're more than a foot taller than when you know they have no chance of fighting back]] is quite another.
%%* ExhaustedEyeBags
* {{Expy}}: From the hair over his eye and his voice claim, to his long and sometimes confusing monologues, to his green-haired AbhorrentAdmirer and his CovertPervert nature, he's just one long, walking shoutout to [[Literature/{{Bakemonogatari}} Koyomi Araragi]].
* GratuitousGerman: He refers to Antoinette as "Schwester", the German word for sister.
%%* HeadphonesEqualIsolation
%%* HopelessSuitor: To Nana.
* HypotheticalCasting: His ''mun'' declares his voice claim as Creator/HiroshiKamiya.
* IAmTheBand: Writes and samples all of his studio albums himself.
* InSeriesNickname: Has been called Akaki Bouji and Autonomy by his fans and the media.
* InstantWakingSkills: ...which leads to various other students waking him up in increasingly unusual ways.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Seen in his internal monologue during the Chapter 2 investigation and some in Chapter 3 (Ab)normal days, while speaking to Nana. He's willing to put his own feelings aside as long as she's happy, especially after [[spoiler: Tetsuo's death.]]
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:In Chapter 4.]]
* TheLancer: To Tetsuo Shingen, in several respects; visually, they have contrasting colour schemes (Tetsuo has light hair and dark skin, with a blue and white colour scheme; Kyo has [[RavenHairIvorySkin black hair and pale skin]] with a red/brown and black colour scheme. Tetsuo is more of a [[TheHero hero]], while Kyo is more of an antihero, due to the former's preoccupation with justice and [[ClosetGeek sillier qualities]] and Kyo's tendency towards [[TranquilFury stronger emotions]], despite his colder exterior. His previous jealousy over Nana definitely counts towards this, too -- add that to the fact that he and [[spoiler: The Judge]] have seemingly encountered one another before, and it all starts to add up.
%%* LongHairedPrettyBoy
* MeaningfulName: His surname, Otonomiya (音之宮), means Palace of Sound.
* MessyHair: His idea of a hairstyle is apparently whatever his hair ends up like after headbanging. This is in direct contrast with the rest of his put-together ensemble.
* MinoredInAsskicking: Fighting isn't his main interest by a long shot, but he can still throw down with the best of them when he has to. [[spoiler: Ironically, that doesn't actually save him when he needed that ability most.]]
* NoSocialSkills: Stemming from his background; Kyo can be blunt to the point of seeming malicious and tends to forget that [[SlasherSmile smiles are not supposed to be creepy]].
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: He suffers this at the tail end of Chapter 4 when he openly defied Monobear, prompting him to be pummeled relentlessly by two or more of them. [[spoiler: He does not survive this incident.]]
* OutOfFocus: After Chapter 3, he has a few conversations with some of the other characters but ultimately does not do much up until his sudden [[spoiler:declaration of defiance to Monobear]].
* PrincelyYoungMan: The way he carries himself when not performing can border on this, especially given that he's pretty wealthy.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: Often accused of this in the game. Even Ozu made a comment about his habit of using large words when Kiyoyuki imitates him.
* ScaryMusicianHarmlessMusic: Supposedly inverted. Although he portrays himself as an 'unrestrained hedonist' on stage, he is comparatively reserved during interviews.
%%* SharpDressedMan
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: The boy certainly does love his tea. He keeps a nicely organized compartment of tea bags and tea leaves in his drawer, and his room is described as having a sweet fragrance from whatever pot of tea he's brewing today. One wonders where he even got all of that...
* TranquilFury: When delivering a liver punch to Kaitaro. ''Deeply'' unsettling.
* UnkemptBeauty: His hair is messy, his face is pale, and he has some serious eyebags. None the less, fans all over the world still found him attractive.

!!Akihito Ozu
!!!Super High-School Level Electrician
[[quoteright:108:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/electrician_1063.png]]
->''"I think I can figure out where yer shit might've gone. The prize is yers fer only a small fee of…. ¥2000! How's that sound?"''

Ozu is a very showy person. He literally flashes. He’s loud and wild, and in your face. If you yell at him, it won’t stop him, he’ll just laugh at how mad you’re getting. He will never apologize, and it would take a lot to ever make him admit he’s done something wrong. If he’s having fun, that’s all that matters. He’s pretty selfish, and can be prone to jealousy. But that doesn’t mean he’s cruel, he’s just a huge pain. He’s the kind of guy that would turn up the radio and not turn it down when you ask him too. Ozu is all about having fun... for his own means. If you can keep up with him, he’s a real party animal. [[spoiler: He survives to the final trial and escapes prison.]]
----
* BreakTheCutie: Having [[spoiler: two of the people that he admires the most die]] will tend to have that effect on him.
* CharacterDevelopment: His insecurities are brought out into the forefront as the rolepay goes on, and his hedonism is virtually nonexistent by the time the last Chapter rolls around. That said, he swore to [[spoiler: the long dead Tetsuo]] that he'd go on fighting for justice and that he'd try to be more responsible in the future.
* TheHedonist: All he cares about is having the most fun he can. He doesn't much care who or what gets in the way.
* HowDareYouDieOnMe: His Relationship page in the late-game shows him to act like this towards [[spoiler:Otonomiya]] a little bit, especially given the character's willingness to give him a reason to keep his chin up despite the game.
%%* GenkiGuy
* HiddenHeartOfGold: After the first death and trial, he tried desperately to pass himself off as excited and encouraging of the whole game when he was absolutely scared out of his mind that his fellow inmates would actually try to kill each other.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: ...But pushes people away, despite this. It seems like the underwater facility is the first time he's ever been successful at it. [[spoiler: Cue Antoinette and Tetsuo, two of the people closest to Akihito, dying shortly after the reveal of this secret.]]
* ImpossiblyCoolClothes: His hoodie is rigged with LED panels that light up like a soundboard whenever he makes sound.
* ThePromise: With Antionette, saying that he'd be able to take her back to St. Olaf [[IfWeGetThroughThis after the whole game blows over]]. [[spoiler: Now that Antionette has passed on, he no longer gets to keep that promise]].
* RedOniBlueOni: With Harper. Akihito would be the Red oni.
* SurvivorGuilt: Has a surprising amount of it in his Relationships page. He even says as much when he talks about Eiji posthumously.
* WingdingEyes: Lightning bolts.
* YouAreNotAlone: Has to get told this by Kiyoyuki after all of the heartbreak he's been through.

!!Tetsuo Shingen
!!!Super High-School Level Police Chief
[[quoteright:108:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/police_5870.png]]
->''"I can tell you are the type that would rather be counted on, rather than the other way around. Holding all of that responsibility on your own, though… Isn’t it tiring?"''

Tetsuo Shingen is a name feared by many, and respected by far more. Tetsuo’s career began with a recommendation made by his adoptive father; an older and respected police officer. With this he was able to enter the Police Academy at age 13, and managed to graduate in record speed. He moved up the ranks quickly, and by age 15 he had managed to become Chief of Police. As soon as he came into a role of power, his intentions became clear. The police chief was a man that respected justice more than anything else, and he planned to crush any speckle of corruption under his steel-toed boot. Tetsuo not only cracked down on crime, but also the officers under his command. In almost no time the crime rate across Japan dropped close to 0%, and corruption in the system became seemingly nonexistent. Japan was safer than it had ever been, and the police had become a united army under Chief Shingen’s command. [[spoiler: The victim of Chapter 2, found dead in the water by Miya Iwazumi.]]
----
* AccidentalPervert: Picks up on any and all innuendos, even if they aren't intentional.
* TheAce: He's handsome, strong, is the moral compass for the early stages, and very personable with a lot of the inmates. As Antoinette noted [[spoiler: as she apologizes for his death]], "Everyone loves him".
%%* AmbiguouslyBrown
* ADeathInTheLimelight: The mun started cranking out ''a lot'' of posts before [[spoiler: Tetsuo's body was discovered.]]
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: As Chief of Police, he is reputed for successfully cracking down on crime and corruption across Japan.
* TheBigGuy: Is both the tallest and heaviest member of the cast. [[spoiler: Unfortunately, this is also a Danganronpa derivative, so he's [[BigGuyFatalitySyndrome marked for death]] immediately because of this.]]
%%* BigOlEyebrows
* BraidsOfAction: A male example that leads into a short ponytail.
* ClosetGeek: ''Really'' into anime, idols, the works.
%%* CoatCape
* CopAndScientist: The 'cop' part of the duo, in his tentative partnership with Sumiko Ihara.
* DrunkWithPower: Averted, except when you embarrass him... in which case you will likely be serving a life sentence with no bail.
* FairCop: Japan's Chief of Police at just 17 -- and he's pretty easy on the eyes, too.
* GratuitousEnglish: Uses it from time to time. His favorite thus far is "OH MY GOD!"
* TheKnightsWhoSaySquee: He's over the moon when he meets Kiyoyuki, due to the fact that he voiced some of his favorite characters in anime. But unlike a lot of other inmates, it's also inverted; Kiyoyuki looks up to him as well.
* ImprobableAge: A seventeen year old police chief. Most people his age would be ''starting out'' in the lower ranks. [[spoiler: Becoming a notorious vigilante at the age of thirteen is no small feat, either.]]
* LargeAndInCharge: The tallest of the inmates, and presumably had a fair bit of height on him over his subordinates as chief of police.
* TheLostLenore: He doesn't have one himself, but [[spoiler: he ''becomes'' one to Nana Yasuda after Chapter 2]].

Whatever the case, after his murder nothing is quite the same anymore.]]
* ShipTease: With many, ''many'' characters, but mostly with Nana Yasuda, though it's a little more uncertain in his part in most of his posts. [[spoiler: His post-mortem note]] at the end of his relationships page pretty much confirms it, though.

A pious, daydreaming beauty of the Church of St. Olaf, well-loved by the inhabitants of her home. Kind, gentle and sweet, if a little strange, Antoinette carries an aura of peace about her absolutely befitting of a Super High School Level Nun... unlike [[Characters/RouletteRampageFirstSession some people we know.]] [[spoiler: The culprit of Chapter 2; she intended to murder Jiang-li de la Rosa, murdering Tetsuo by accident. 227* AlliterativeName: '''A'''ntoinette '''A'''dheir.
* CharacterTics: Whenever Annie gets nervous or upset, she tends to mutter "Muu" to herself. [[spoiler: Becomes somewhat haunting when she does it as an Alter Ego.]]

Her contrasting character traits to Etsuko are already abundantly clear only in appearance: green eyes instead of purple, a white habit instead of black, and no hair showing as opposed to Etsuko's braids. And ultimately, [[spoiler: while Etsuko lasts until the very end of the first session, poor Antoinette only lasts until the second Chapter.]]

* TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth: The girl is a genuinely kind-hearted person, and though she [[spoiler:kills the equally as kind-hearted Tetsuo]] she feels immediately regretful about it.
* VictimOfTheWeek: Averted. Though someone managed to flood her room using the buttons provided by Monobear in Chapter 1, she was outside and thus avoided becoming a victim. [[spoiler: She does end up dying later, but that's only because she ended up being the killer instead of the killed.]]

The rising star of commercial virus research, Sumiko Ihara is the teenage queen of Parasol Pharmaceuticals’ R&D department. Juggling her time between attending school and attending work despite a virus outbreak in the lab some time back that nearly stole her life, her work ethic is to be reckoned with, despite her gyaru-girl image. Though not well known outside the scientific community, she’s received some small amount of newspaper attention recently for her involvement in the publication of a paper of a potential new treatment angle for rhinovirus strains, including the common cold. She’s laid-back to the point of being a bit lazy, and tends to play down the seriousness of bad situations. 294To most people, Terumi may seem like just an archetypal, bullyish snob-- which really would be a pretty correct assumption. She’s acts arrogant, as if she believes herself to be superior to those around her, and in everything she does there’s a calm confidence. In her eyes, her own success is guaranteed - failure is just something completely unnatural to her. It doesn’t end with her having an unbearably smug aura around her, worse than that is the way that she will treat other people, with a strange mixture of pity, scorn and admiration. 416A small town embroiderer who made a big name in the textile industry, they're renowned for the speed and technical accuracy of their hand-made works, fetching high prices on the market above the new, industrialized and mass produced designs commonly available in this day and age. Just like in the traditional age of nijon shishu, their work with silk and metallic threads are the goods of the small upper class and appear often in religious ceremonies—those that can afford such a pricy work fee for the very best goods. Though many offers have been made to move them to bigger and better shops and stores around the country to utilize their talent under different brand names, they’ve stubbornly refused to move from the still small but highly flourishing mom and pop seamstress store where they started out. Their specialty, however, is far from the expensive decorative work but is instead sashiko, the little stabs which repair garments in stronger and more aesthetic ways. Send a shirt in to their store for mending and you’re just as likely to get beautiful small stitches placed in by Kobayashi themselves, returning back to what they enjoy where they can help people like themselves, not just those with enough money to buy them out.

* YoungerThanTheyLook: The kid is about 4 foot 11, and is constantly mistaken for a middle schooler with their round face. They're 16 by the time the roleplay starts.

%%* BigBad: Of the second Roleplay.
* DeathSeeker: Not in any sad way mind you, but she was perfectly willing to be executed and die for her crimes against humanity and to her fellow inmates, because even after all of this, she still holds empathy for them.
* TheDogBitesBack: Invoked when she gets executed, as the Monobears who beat the ever-loving shit out of her have physical characteristics that represent all of the inmates killed in the current session.
* DyingSmirk: After the savage beating given to her during her execution, she's able to crack one last, weak smile while mocking the students with the existence of the Despair Disease antidote.

* GirlishPigtails: Tied up with black and white Monokuma scrunchies, further likening her to Junko.
* KarmicDeath: Assuming she was the one in control of Monobear when Kyo died, seeing his shade take part in her pummeling is deliciously ironic.
%%* MadScientist: Becomes one after falling into despair.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: At the receiving end of this in her execution.
* SadisticChoice: She gives the survivors the choice of two options; either they let her survive and have the answers for stopping the virus, or she's punished for her crimes and the secret to the antidote dies with her.
* TakingYouWithMe: Not with the survivors, but to the ''rest of humanity'' since she's insistent on not giving them the antidote should she be executed.
* TheVirus: She's the one that helped administer it to the outside world. She's also the only one who knows how to stop it, and she chooses not to all for the sake of Despair.
