!!Requiem
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/requiem.jpg]]

Originally Heinrich Aubsburg, he was a Nazi officer that died during UsefulNotes/WorldWarII in the Eastern Front and ended up landing on Résurrecion upon his death. Being raised as a vampire, he joined Dracula's army and became a vampire knight under the tutelage of Lord Cryptos and rechristened as "Requiem". As it turns out there is more to Requiem than he knows and he becomes entangled in a plot to overthrow Dracula from power in Résurrection.
----
* AntiHero: To call him TheHero would be giving him too much credit, as there is a good reason why he ended up in Hell. But to call him a VillainProtagonist would be exaggerating, as he really isn't just as bad as other Résurrection residents (quite the opposite, he is considered a ''degenerate'' for having traits like [[BadIsGoodAndGoodIsBad honor and chivalry]]) and he regrets the horrible things he did in life. And he genuinely cares for Rebecca and regrets the way he previously treated her.
* TheAtoner: Well, to an extent: he is already in Hell for his crimes and he certainly believes he deserves to suffer for the crimes he commits. However, he also wants to make amends to Rebecca to make up for their abusive past.
* AudienceSurrogate: Since he is a newcomer into the world of Résurrection, a lot of things need to be explained to him.
* BoomHeadshot: His manner of death. [[ScarsAreForever He still retains the scar after becoming a vampire]].
* DestructiveRomance: With Rebecca after finding out that she is Jewish. He would [[DomesticAbuse beat her, insult her and degrade her]] until she was arrested and sent to die in a concentration camp. Requiem is deeply ashamed of this behavior.
* FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire: By Résurrection's standards and compared to his fellow vampires, he is a pretty nice fellow. In fact, he is considered a ''degenerate'' by Atilla for having traits like honor and chivalry. Downplayed in that, he is still pretty dark, ruthless and violent.
* FromASingleCell: [[spoiler: As a result of being possessed by Thurim, he gained true immortality granted by his predecessor having Dracula's Dark Kiss and he manage survive being literally torn to pieces by the Mother Superior of the Convent of Blood.]]
* JustFollowingOrders: Averted, as he laments that following orders got him into Hell in the first place.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: [[spoiler:In Volume 11, he chooses Rebecca over Leah (Aiwass' vampire disguise), but realizes that they can't be together since her existence in Hell will be one of torment. He then decides to kill Otto to free her from Resurrection and therefore, release him from the one thing keeping him from embracing his dark nature]].
* MagicKnight: In addition of being trained in swordfighting and having the physical powers of a vampire, he is capable of using magic runes too.
* MonsterKnight: We don't really need to explain this one. Having said that, he is the ''only'' straight example of this trope due to being the one vampire knight to display traditional honor and chilvary.
* NaziProtagonist: ''Used'' to be a Nazi, at any rate. He certainly abandoned his ideology if not after discovering that his girlfriend was Jewish, then once he arrived in Resurection, unlike his friend Otto.
* NobleDemon: Unlike other vampires, he still retains a conscience and is incredibly burdened by his crimes as a human.
* RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil: Though [[CrapsackWorld its hardly an issue among Résurrection residents]], what landed Heinrich in Hell besides his crimes as a Nazi was the rape of a Russian woman who looked just like Rebecca. And he agrees that he deserves to be in Hell for it.
* {{Reincarnation}}: [[spoiler: He used to be in a previous life Thurim, a vampire knight that challenged Dracula for power and was executed]].
* SelfServingMemory: A really, really ''dark variant''. The first volume opened with his death at hands of Soviet soldiers who tried to take Rebecca's picture from him. This turns out to be a fabrication created from his own guilt to paint his death in a more heroic light, as Mortis and Cryptos scan his past and see the real truth: he was killed by a female Soviet soldier he raped because of her semblance to Rebecca.
* StarcrossedLovers: In life, he was a Nazi in love with a Jewish woman and their relationship turned pretty destructive until she was taken away and executed, while Heinrich escaped any repercussions as he went to fight in the Eastern Front and die in action. In Hell, he became a vampire because of his many crimes while Rebecca, who died the innocent victim of another vampire, became a lamia. The two love birds don't seem to catch a break.

[[folder:Dracula]]
!!Dracula
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dracula_requiem.jpg]]

The unquestioned vampire king in Résurrection and ruler of Draconia. Distinguished from other vampires by the fact he used to be one too on Earth before ending up on Résurrection, being the first vampire there and not aging backwards like everybody else in this world, as well as granting the same ability to others.
----
* TwentyFourHourArmor: He wears that spiky-red armor all the time, even in special occasions like a celebration ball. To be fair given how [[DecadentCourt cutthroat the vampire elite is]], you can't fault him for being ProperlyParanoid.
* BadBoss: It really depends though; he blames the Archaeologists in his ship for the black opium's loss and has all of them punished. He also gives electric shocks to his advisers whenever they say something he doesn't like hearing. As far as we have seen, he is less of a dick towards his family.
* BigBad: Played with. While he rules over Resurrection with iron fist and everyone else wants to kill him, most factions are just as bad as he is and the main protagonist has no interest in opposing him (until his MoralityPet is threatened, that is). With that said [[spoiler:according to J. Edgar Hoover, he has plans to return to Earth and conquer it, but we have yet to see this play out]].
* CharacterTics:
** Flapping his wings or arching his eyebrows are a bad omen, meaning that he is speechless with rage.
** Stroking his mustache whenever he is happy about plotting revenge.
* {{Dracula}}: The one and only. And of course he had to be king of all vampires.
* DroitDuSeigneur: By Draconia's decree, any blood virgins (victims who were not yet bitten by a vampire) are handed to the Convent of Blood to join his RoyalHarem of brides, as its his right to have the first bite.
* {{Egopolis}}: The country that serves as seat of his power is named Draconia.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: In his first appearance, he orders his men to nail an Archeologist's mask to his face, because he did not remove it in reverence to him.
%%* EvilOverlord: Top-dog of a hellish world that makes {{Mordor}} look like daycare? Check. [[TinTyrant Clad in a scary and spiky armor?]] Check. Powerful beyond imagining and presented as evil incarnate? Check. Having such a [[HatedByAll negative reputation]] that nearly every faction wants him dead? If that doesn't make him an textbook dark lord, nothing else will.
%% Rewrite to get rid of the "check" list.
* FangsAreEvil: Well duh, he is a vampire. But the reason why this trope is brought up is because his fangs are ''even longer than other vampires''. We're talking sabertooh size.
* HatedByAll: Every nation surrounding his country despises him: the Lamias hate him for oppressing them, the Ghouls and the Dystopians are his political rivals who would like nothing more than replace him as dominant power. His own "son" Black Sabbat is plotting to overthrow him and has the support of a large number of vampires, meaning he is not very popular among his own people. He doesn't necessarily does much to endear himself to possible allies.
* ImmortalityInducer: His "Dark Kiss" can stop any resident of "Résurrection" from aging backwards and grants an extremely powerful HealingFactor. Its not very easy to come by, specially since one of those who received it - Thurim - turned against Dracula and attempted to dethrone him, and it was very difficult to put him down afterwards.
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: And according to the backstory, he ''did'' become a vampire on Earth too before going to Hell.
* LargeAndInCharge: Dracula is a giant brute of a man.
* MagicVersusScience: He has contempt for scientists and looks down at the Archaeologists and their ways.
* MonsterProgenitor: Dracula is the very first vampire to have materialized on Résurrection even before people that were born before him like Atilla or Nero.
* RoyalHarem: His "brides" live cloistered in the Convent of Blood, and no man but Drac himself is allowed to touch them. [[spoiler:Rebecca would have became his newest addition, if Otto didn't capture her first]].
* TinTyrant: He is always clad in his draconic red armor.
* UnholyMatrimony: Elizabeth Báthory (the infamous real-life noblewoman who bathed in the blood of girls to preserve her youth) is his official consort. With that said their relationship is very open: Dracula has an harem of lovely brides and Elizabeth occasionally takes several paramours such as Claudia.
* VampiresHarem: Subverted. He still keeps his brides yes, but they are all "virgin" victims that have not been claimed. None of them are actual vampires.
* VampireMonarch: The biggest, meanest and most powerful vampire around. Interestingly, he is also the oldest vampire in Resurrection, despite the fact individuals such as Nero and Atilla existed before Vlad thousand years before, they ended up in Hell after him because of TimeyWimeyBall.
* VillainousIncest: His TopWife is Elizabeth Bathory, who was actually Vlad Dracula's great-niece.
* WingedHumanoid: He sports a pair of feathered wings on his back.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Claudia Demona]]

!!Claudia Demona
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/claudia.JPG]]

Claudia used to be a demon-worshiper that was sentenced to Résurrection after a ritual went horribly wrong and she was executed through spontaneous corruption by the very forces of Hell. She became one of the most wicked creatures on Résurrection, spending much of her time in sadomasochist sexual rituals. Claudia is also involved in a plot along with other vampires to dethrone Dracula.
----
* BestialityIsDepraved: Extremely. She doesn't mind if some flying baboon mutants had their way with her and she later has sex with [[spoiler:Torquemada]] in his werewolf form, in front of Sean to torture and humiliate her old lover.
* ChainmailBikini: While her normal outfit doesn't really qualify as this trope (though its pretty revealing on its own right), she quite literally wears lingerie armor in a fighting tournament in Volume 7.
* DarkActionGirl: A female vampire knight (Amazon?) and an absolutely fearsome fighter.
* EvilMatriarch: She made a deal with dark forces to sacrifice her own daughter, Carly, on her twenty-first birthday, in exchange for Vampire Knight training in Resurrection.
* DecoyDamsel: In order to bring Requiem over to the conspirators' side, she faked being attacked by several baboon mutants, as she knew appealing to Requiem's sense of chivalry he would rush to save a distressed damsel.
* DepravedBisexual: More like ''Depraved [[ExtremeOmnisexual Omnisexual]]'': She has show attraction to both Requiem and Elizabeth Bathory, but she also had no hangs up about [[NightmareFetishist being ravished by several flying baboon men]].
* FemmeFatale: Her feminine wiles are just as lethal as her fighting skills.
* LesbianVampire: She is shown having a relationship with Elizabeth Bathory and hits on Rebecca when she is being held captive along with all other captured lamias.
* IHaveYouNowMyPretty: Pulled this almost word-for-word on ''Rebecca'', complimenting on her beauty, groping her body and declaring she would claim her for herself.
* MsFanservice: Her design is so over-the-top that calling her {{Dominatrix}} doesn't even begin to describe it.
* RavenHairIvorySkin: Unlike most vampires in the comics, Demona has dark-hair instead of silver / white.
* ReligionOfEvil: She used to be a devil worshiper in life and she now reveres the Lords of Limbo.
* ShamefulStrip: It happens to her at Requiem's hands, when he tricks Claudia into going down into the dungeon where Rebecca is being imprisoned, and forces her to remove her clothes at gunpoint so Rebecca can disguise herself with it.
* TooKinkyToTorture: Her ex-lover turned lamia tried to choke her to death using his chain, but she only got pleasure from EroticAsphyxiation. Claudia is greatly dismayed by the fact lamias do not torment her anymore like they do with other vampires, because she absolutely reveled in her crimes.
* VillainProtagonist: Claudia starred her own spin off series ''Claudia: Vampire Knight''.
* WhipOfDominance: Her weapon of choice is a whip, which is apropos for a sadomasochist demon-worshipper.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nero]]
!!{{UsefulNotes/Nero}}
The 5th Roman Emperor, he was reincarnated as a vampire in Résurrection. Dracula granted him his Dark Kiss that prevents him from aging backwards like others Hell denizens and now Nero serves as his [[TheDragon most important enforcer]].
----
* ArtificialLimbs: His right arm was taken away by Thurim in a duel and Nero had it replaced with a skeletal-looking prosthetic.
* DepravedHomosexual: Nero seems to be into men most of the time - he mentions that he would reward his gladiators with torrid nights of pleasure with their Emperor if they defeated lions in the arena. And he is pretty depraved alright, but [[CrapsackWorld so is everyone else in this world]].
* TheDragon: He is Dracula's closest ally.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: He has several archaeologists crucified and then set on fire, and the first words we hear from are [[LovesTheSoundOfScreaming "Listen to their howls! What music they make!"]].
* {{Expy}}: His design bears an uncanny semblance to Dr. Frank N. Furter from ''Film/TheRockyHorrorPictureShow''.
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: The Emperor infamous for burning Rome down is Dracula's right-hand man.
* LesbianVampire: Gender-flipped. He is a ''gay vampire'' considering he has no interest into female victims.
* MrFanservice: Nero is the most blatantly oversexualized male character in the comic.
* PlayingWithFire: As a result of gaining Dracula's dark kiss, he also gained control over fire which he uses to burn crucified archaeologists.
* PsychopathicManchild: Nero's glee at torture is akin to a kid trying to show his cool toys to his friends.
* {{Sadist}}: Even among other vampires in the comic, he stands out for his obsession with pain.
* SelfServingMemory: He claims that Thurim took off his arm because he didn't like him playing his harp, to which Dracula calls him out on that is just the way he remembers it. In reality, as Requiem finds out from [[spoiler:Thurim's memories]] Nero provoked Thurim into a duel, who had no interest in fighting him which ended up taking off his arm.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Nero wears nothing more than a corset, a thong, ZettaiRyouiki with StockingFiller and his BadassCape.
* TooKinkyToTorture: He is not only a sadist, but a masochist too: he says he will abuse himself in the same tone as "IllBeInMyBunk".
* TortureTechnician: His specialty.
* VillainousCrossdresser: He wears in a PimpedOutDress for the Vampire Ball.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Elizabeth Bathory]]
Dracula's wife and queen of Draconia. She was the infamous real-life Hungarian noblewoman that murdered countless virgin girls just to bathe in their blood and preserve her youth. In Résurrection, she received Dracula's dark kiss, making her one of the few truly immortal beings in Résurrection.
----
* BerserkButton: She really doesn't like when people disturb her personal chamber while she is bathing. [[spoiler:Mother Mitra learned that the hard way after getting disemboweled by her]].
* BathingBeauty: Bathory is shown bathing quite nicely on Volume 10, its just too bad that we all know on ''[[BloodBath what]]'' she is bathing.
* BloodMagic: Her primary power is the ability to control blood, using it to manipulate other weapons and briefly creating an armor around her body.
* ChainmailBikini: Whenever she needs to fight physically, she materializes one using blood that resembles a corset, thong and long boots with stockings.
* DarkActionGirl: Though Bathory relies on magic most of the time, she can get pretty brutal in hand-to-hand such as using a massive axe to disebowel [[spoiler:Mother Mitra]] and take on multiple ghouls on Volume 11.
* DepravedBisexual: She is married to Dracula, but she takes many women to her bed including Claudia, a couple of [[CatGirl Leopard Women]] and probably would have taken Rebecca too if she had the chance, according to Claudia.
* EvilRedhead: An evil vampire queen with scarlet hair.
* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: In her own words: "we Draculas are used to rule, but we do not govern." Essentially, [[ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem we in power do what we want]].
* GoodThingYouCanHeal: As result of gaining the Dark Kiss, her HealingFactor is very potent as demonstrated when [[spoiler:Mitra shoots her with a machine gun and she instantly recovers.]]
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: The Bloody Countess herself, one of the most prolific female serial killers of all time.
* LadyOfBlackMagic: Dark, evil and sexy female magic user.
* TheHedonist: She is first seen surrounded by an harem of [[CatGirl Leopard Women]].
* MsFanservice: Do take caution in looking her up, since Bathory is pretty much stark-naked with only her arms and shoulders being covered and ''nothing else''. And this isn't even counting the loads of LesYay she has with female characters. Also, it helps she doesn't have body markings like other vampires.
* UnholyMatrimony: With Count Dracula.
* VillainousIncest: She's married to her own great-uncle.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Otto von Todt]]
!!Otto von Todt
[[quoteright:327:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1887399_12943739865050.jpg]]

Originally Otto Hollman, a ruthless Nazi that died in exile in South America and became a Vampire Knight in Résurrection. Despite dying years after than Heinrich's own death, he ended up on this new world before him. He befriends Heinrich after he saved his life from a gang of scavenging zombies.
----

* AffablyEvil: Around Requiem, that is. He is surprisingly friendly and jovial, acting like a BigBrotherMentor and being surprisingly patient and tolerant with him, despite Requiem's [[NobleDemon attitude]] being taboo in Résurrection since he thinks this is just a phase. This attitude pretty much evaporates when Requiem decides to get together with Rebecca.
* ArchEnemy: To Rebecca, being the one who killed her in life and responsible for her presence in Résurrection, with his expiring being the only thing that would release her. Otto certainly returns the sentiment and desires to further torment her.
* BloodKnight: Otto lusts for violence and death, almost to his own detriment. In life, he could have escaped Argentina after the [[NaziHunter nazi hunters]] found him, but he decided to wait for the opportunity to kill more jews.
* BodyHorror: [[spoiler:Requiem shoves him down into a fireplace and Otto re-emerges severely burned. And these scars may as well be permanent]].
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: He had his face cleaved with a knife by Rebecca's sister, and he was left to die for two hours.
* FauxAffablyEvil: He pretty much becomes like this after Requiem decides to save Rebecca.
* FullyEmbracedFiend: As a {{foil}} to Requiem.
* IRegretNothing: Otto has no regrets for his crimes. In fact, he is ''glad for them [[AHellOfATime getting him into Resurrection]].''
* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: He takes an frigging axe to the face in stride and [[spoiler: isn't that bothered about being burned alive. In fact, he is more upset with his precious collection being destroyed than anything that happens with him]].
* NaziGrandpa: He managed to evade arrest after the Nazis' downfall and find refuge in Argentina, where he died at the age of 50.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: A villainous variant nonetheless, but it still counts. [[spoiler:He managed to sneak inside the Convent of Blood and kidnap Rebecca while the Sisters aren't watching and does so without triggering a fight]].
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Unlike Heinrich, Otto still retains his Nazi sentiments as a vampire and still refers to Rebecca as "jewess" in a derogatory manner.
* ShadowArchetype: To Requiem. They were both Nazis whose crimes landed them on Hell and they both became Vampire Knights, however Otto delights in all the pain and misery he caused and he represents everything that Requiem loathes about himself.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sabre Eretica]]
!Sabre Eretica
A lone vampire encountered by Requiem after he decides to desert the vampires and save Rebecca. Becomes a very unlikely ally after running into him a few times and may be the closest thing to TheLancer that Requiem has.
----
* AffablyEvil: Barring his extremely lecherous attitude and having committed some really horrible atrocities to earn his place in Résurrection as a vampire. He is incredibly friendly towards Requiem at least and may genuinely mean it.
* CoolShades: Sabre wears them so often we never see his eyes.
* TheCasanova: A massive pervert that manages to find his way into the Convent of Blood to try and score with Dracula's brides. Either must be extraordinarily brave or suicidal to pull such feat.
* TheLancer: Specially when he and Requiem are trapped inside the Convent of Blood. It helps that Sabre also serves as another nice {{foil}} to Heinrich.
* PerpetualSmiler: He never stops smiling, except for a couple serious moments.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lord Cryptos]]
!Lord Cryptos
A diminutive vampire lord that lives in the moon orbiting Hell. Since the vampires in Dracula's Resurrection age backwards, this would mean that Cryptos is extremely old due to his infantile state. Nevertheless, he is just as brutal as the other vampires of his creed. His true identity and who he used to be in life is unknown.
----
* BaldOfEvil: Not a single string of hair in that newborn head.
* BrainyBaby: Has the body of an infant but the intellect of a grown man.
* CoDragons: Along with Mortis and Sabbat to [[spoiler:Aiwass]], with Cryptos in particular serving as figurehead once they dethrone Dracula.
* DeadpanSnarker: Cryptos snarks down on Heinrich when he initially refuses to join Dracula's army by mockingly asking if he plans to start a resistance group of his own.
* EvilMentor: He is responsible for training vampire knights for Dracula's army. It should be noted that [[TheSpartanWay only 1 in 10 manage to complete the training]].
* MisterBig: Specially surrounded by his henchmen. With that said, he is not to be trifled with it since we are talking about a vampire almost as old as Dracula himself.
* OlderThanTheyLook: An extreme example. Cryptos looks like ''a baby'', but that means he is actually one of the oldest beings in Hell.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: His little infantile hands apparently pack an impressive punch and he also wields a pair of short swords with fearsome skill - which makes sense for someone who trains vampire knights for Dracula's army.
* PuppetKing: The part he plays in the Hellfire Club's conspiracy is that he will nominally take Dracula's place once he is dethroned, because he is old enough to garner enough respect and support from the people. With that said, because he is too old to rule effectively, Sabbat is the actual power behind the throne.
* ReassignedToAntarctica: When he was growing too young for his job, Dracula sent him to the moon orbiting Hell so he could train vampire knights for his army.
* SecretPolice: What used to be Cryptos' job before he became too young. His police force was so efficient, nobody knew where their HQ was located, not even ''Cryptos'' himself in case anyone tried to read his mind.
* ScatterbrainedSenior: A curious inversion, Cryptos suffers ''juvenile'' dementia as result of aging backwards. Being a baby in Résurrection means that you are really, really old.
* UndeadChild: In a sense, since people [[MerlinSickness age backwards in this world]], he is a vampire in baby form.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lord Mortis]]
!!Lord Mortis
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lord_mortis.JPG]]

A vampire knight that takes an instant dislike of Heinrich, he is a key member of the Hellfire Club. While his true identity is unknown, Mortis survived the Holocaust and was Claudia's partner-in-crime while they were alive.
----

* AmbiguouslyJewish: He is heavily implied to have been Jewish, since he is an Holocaust survivor, but not outright confirmed. Jews were not the only group persecuted by the Nazis during the Holocaust after all, so he might as well have been a Roma, a Slav or a political dissident.
* CoDragons: With Lord Cryptos and Black Sabbat to [[spoiler: Aiwass]].
* TheCollector: Mortis collects many infamous weapons such as the rifle used to kill JFK and the knife used to kill Marat, just to name a few.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Even though Mortis is as cruel and heartless as any other vampire, he endured such harsh treatment in the death camps that he turned into black magic just to survive.
* EvilSorceror: He dabbles in dark magic frequently, just like he did in life and uses it to send a Lord of Limbo to assassinate Requiem.
* KickTheDog: He keeps a female lamia chained in his crypt as his personal slave / bloodbag and regularly abuses and tortures her. Then he sacrifices her to summon said Lord of Limbo.
* SkeletonsInTheCoatCloset: Mortis wears a pair of ''[[{{Fingore}} fingers]]'' as earrings.
* SmugSnake: At least around Requiem, that is.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Black Sabbat]]
!Black Sabbat

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/black_sabbat.JPG]]
Back on Earth, he was the infamous occultist Creator/AleisterCrowley. On Résurrection, he became a vampire and Chancellor of the Bank of Blood. Even though he is Dracula's "son", giving him his dark kiss that granted immortality, Sabbat leads the Hellfire Club, a vampire group conspiring with Draconia's many enemies to have his father overthrown, and Sabbat ruling in his place.
----
* BaldOfEvil: Given he was also bald in real life.
* BestialityIsDepraved: He is in a relationship with a goddess that assumes the form of a male mandrill, and Sabbat prefers her in this form.
* TheChessmaster: He is playing everyone to achieve his goals and it works quite nicely.
* CoDragons: Along with Cryptos and Mortis to [[spoiler:Aiwass]].
* DarkIsEvil: He stands out among other vampires by having his skin dark as ebony rather than pale as marble.
* DeadpanSnarker: Certainly has his moments.
* DepravedBisexual: Due to his lover Aiwass having [[NoBiologicalSex no biological gender]]. He has gone on record saying that he prefers her in her [[BestialityIsDepraved male mandrill form]].
* DivineDate: He is in a relationship with the goddess Aiwass.
* LooksLikeOrlok: With the exception of his pitch-black skin, his appearance fits the mold perfectly, being bald and having many sharp teeth.
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: Though a extremely controversial figure, [[HistoricalVillainUpgrade he probably wasn't this bad in real life, like in the comic]].
* TheManBehindTheMan: The mastermind behind the Hellfire Club and plots to rule Résurrection using Lord Cryptos as his [[PuppetKing figurehead]]. [[spoiler:Sabbat in turn answers to his lover Aiwass, a [[PhysicalGod Lord of Limbo in physical form]]]].
* MorallyBankruptBanker: It can't get more evil than a banker from Hell who deals in literally ''blood'' rather than ''coins''.
* ObviouslyEvil: For crying out loud, look at his image. He has 666 and a pentagram tattooed to his face.
* PragmaticVillainy: Sabbat convinces Attila to not kill Requiem for his "degeneracy" because they need every able-bodied vampire knight they can get to fight in the Lemuria campaign. [[spoiler: Though he actually spared him because he recognized Requiem as Thurim's reincarnation]].
* TheStarscream: He answers directly to Dracula, yet he is in league with a conspiracy to remove him from power and install Cryptos as their figurehead leader.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Attila the Hun]]
!UsefulNotes/AttilaTheHun
The Scourge of God and embodiment of the Anti-Christ, his brutality on Earth earned him a place in Dracula's court as Admiral of his fleet.
* TheAntiChrist: Referred as one InUniverse.
* BerserkButton: He really dislikes any traits such as [[CardCarryingVillain justice and goodness]], and regards those who display them as a freak. Thurim is also a really hot button for him, so much so that he takes an instant dislike of Heinrich based on his resemblance to him [[spoiler:with good reason]].
* TheBrute: He is massive for his size, almost as wide as [[LargeAndInCharge Dracula]], and he is seemingly not very bright.
* HiddenDepths: Its established by his behavior and appearance that Attila is a [[DumbMuscle brutish fiend]]. However, he is the first one to correctly figure out that [[spoiler:Requiem is in fact Thurim's reincarnation]].
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: Attila was the Hunnic warlord that ruled the second largest empire of his time and [[TheDreaded inspired fear among the Romans]].
* OffingTheOffspring: According to the Devil's Dictionary, he ate two of his own sons.
[[/folder]]

Once a brutal [[UsefulNotes/TheTeutonicKnights Teutonic knight]] who was secretly a Satanist, he fell into combat against Orthodox Russians from Novgorod and ended up in Résurrection as a vampire. He thrived on chaos and conflict until he was expired for challenging Dracula's authority.
----
* ANaziByAnyOtherName: In his battle against the Orthodox Russians, the RousingSpeech he gives to his men is charged with this alongside HolierThanThou:
-->'''Thurim''': ''Knights of Christ! Our enemies are Slavs! Their name means slaves! Lets take them back to captivity! In the name of the Cross! We are Prussians, they are Russians! They are derived from our left-overs! This race must be cleansed! In the name of the Lord! They have the shape of humans, but they are sub-humans. Heretics! Pagans! Who do not obey our Holy Father the Pope! Lets put an end to their evil ways! In the name of Jesus! Show no mercy! '''Death to the under race'''!''
* AxeCrazy: It really should tell you something that in the insane world of Résurrection, ''he stood out as this''.
* TheBrute: A very unconventional example since he doesn't look the type (specially when compared to [[DumbMuscle Attila]]), but he serves this role to the [[spoiler:Hellfire Club, being their physical powerhouse and their trump card against Dracula.]] For bonus points, he also uses a hammer in combat and certainly has the [[AxeCrazy personality]] [[BloodKnight to match]].
* DyingCurse: As he sunk on the frozen lake in front of the the Russians, he vowed one day to return in a new incarnation to plague them. [[spoiler:Amusingly he did return as Heinrich during World War II, who would fight against the Soviets in the Eastern Front]].
* EnemyWithin: [[spoiler:Once his knowledge is discovered, Thurim becomes a part of Requiem and tempts him to commit evil acts such as biting Rebecca (which would turn her into his slave) while they are making love and nearly raping a Sister of Blood]].
* FateWorseThanDeath: As result of getting Dracula's Dark Kiss, he became truly immortal and gained a powerful healing factor. After trying to usurp Dracula, he was sentenced to be forever torn apart without truly dying for a long time.
* FlippingTheBird: During his prayer to the Devil, towards "Joker Jesus".
* TheHedonist: Heinrich has a vision of him surrounded by massive orgies while he sits on a throne. [[spoiler:When Thurim takes control of Requiem's body, he tries using it to rape a surviving Sister of Blood, requiring Requiem to struggle back for control]].
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: His defeat on Novgorod was caused by his own hammer, whose magical powers caused the ice beneath to break and all his forces drowning in it.
* HolierThanThou: While he claims to be devout and righteous for cleansing heretics and pagans, he is secretly an Satanist... Something which his Orthodox Russian enemies realize and denounce him as.
* LightIsNotGood: Being a Knight Teutonic who wore only white in his life, he also had a fairly saintly appearance that belied his dark nature.
* TheNoseless: His nose was cut off as vampire.
* PosthumousCharacter: He had long expired by the time the series began.
* PutTheLaughterInSlaughter: Specially after [[spoiler:Possessing Requiem's body.]]
-->'''Thurim''': ''Its raining nuns! Hellelujah!''
* StrawHypocrite: He claimed to fight for Christianity but was secretly a devil-worshipper.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dragon]]
!!Dragon
A renegade vampire samurai that had turned his back on his race for mysterious reasons and now sided with Mother Mitra's ghouls. He used to be a Japanese soldier who participated in the Massacre of Nanking and died shortly after the end of World War II.
----
* BloodKnight: Dragon brags about killing many Chinese civilians and doing it better than other Japanese soldiers.
* DespairEventHorizon: After witnessing the destruction by the nuclear destruction in Japan, he went on a suicidal charge.
* HornedHumanoid: He has a pair of horns in his brow, that make him resemble an oni.
* HunterOfHisOwnKind: An ''villainous'' example, since he is a vampire that hunts vampires, but he is still very much evil. The difference is that his new masters [[KnightTemplar do it for the greater good]] rather than ForTheEvulz.
* NinjaPirateRobotZombie: A Japanese vampire that looks like an oni and fights like an samurai.
* {{Revenge}}: Even in death, he seeks revenge for the ones responsible for the Hiroshima and Nagasaki detonations.
* VampireHunter: Naturally, but not a sympathetic example like Rebecca or Sean.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Doomsday Man]]
!!The Doomsday Man
A secret superweapon used by Dracula that he kept locked up inside a coffin. Its actually none other than [[spoiler:'''Adolf Hitler'''.]]
----
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: [[spoiler:Its UsefulNotes/AdolfHitler]].
* KarmaHoudini: A surprising aversion. Rather than becoming a part of Résurrection's DecadentCourt, he was locked up in a coffin for all time until the right hour came. And then Dracula kills him.
* {{Nosebleed}}: A non-anime variant, when blood runs through his nose it forms a distinctive mustache-trail which [[spoiler:indicates who he is]].
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: He is never referred to as [[spoiler:Adolf Hitler]], only as "The Doomsday Man" by Dracula
* PragmaticVillainy: He is being kept comatose, not because he is that powerful, dangerous or what he did was really ''that'' loathsome for Résurrection's standards, but in fact to expire him when the time is right so his victims could be expelled from Résurrection.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: In a sense, his [[DeadlyEuphemism "activation"]] destroys ''millions'' of lamias.
* SealedEvilInACan: Locked up inside a coffin and covered in chains.
* SuperweaponSurprise: 6 million lamias are about to overwhelm Dracula's ship, so he pulls out [[spoiler:Hitler]] out of his sleep to expire him and eliminate the lamias in one stroke.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He gets a total of three panels and two lines of dialogue before getting expired.
[[/folder]]

!Other Résurrection Denizens
[[folder:Rebecca]]
!!Rebecca
[[quoteright:339:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rebecca.JPG]]

Requiem's love interest from Earth. She was a Jewish woman that fell in love with Heinrich, but ended up in the death camps where she was killed. Because her killer also became a vampire on Résurrection, she rose as a lamia and will continue to exist until either she or tormentor are "expired".
----
* ActionGirl: Despite being helpless against other Résurrection monsters on the account of being a mere lamia, Rebecca might be the most straightforward example of this trope in the series since all other female characters are of the [[DarkActionGirl dark variant]]. She is not afraid of grabbing a machine gun in a plane piloted by Heinrich to bring down some dragons, punching a lecherous ogre that wanted to pimp her out or using a bladed fan to behead several ogres during a BarBrawl. Rebecca also comes really close to [[spoiler:expiring Otto and this after he had seemingly killed Requiem in a fight]].
* CuteGhostGirl: Despite the horrifying way she died in the Holocaust, Rebecca is pretty attractive as a lamia.
* DestructiveRomance: What her relationship with Heinrich boiled down to when she revealed that she is Jewish.
* DamselOutOfDistress: Her being an DamselInDistress is understandable since she is a lamia and rather weak compared to other denizens of Résurrection, with that said that doesn't stop her from displaying some badassness.
* TheLostLenore: Her death struck a horrendous blown to Heinrich while he was alive. Subverted, since they reunite with each other in the afterlife.
* MoralityPet: To Heinrich / Requiem.
* MsFanservice: Though not as blatantly and over-the-top like female vampires, Rebecca qualifies as she initially wrapped in bandages as a lamia, gets ocassionally stuffed in a revealing leather outfit and most of her appearances depict her almost or outright nude - it helps she is a very prominent female character. Its very ironic when you consider she died as a Holocaust victim and looked line one. [[DepravedBisexual Claudia]] lampshades her beauty in Volume 4:
-->'''Claudia''': ''Oh yes, you were right, Heinrich... She is a little poppet. She could have been chosen as a bride of Dracula himself.'' [to Rebecca] ''I am sure my friend [[DepravedBisexual Elizabeth]] would love to sink her teeth into you... [[IHaveYouNowMyPretty But I am going to have you all for myself, my pretty maid who's never been milked.]]''
* OutOfTheFryingPan: Rebecca is [[spoiler:forced into Dracula's harem and Heirich tries to mount a rescue. He finds out that she has been "rescued" by none other than her ArchEnemy, Otto]].
* RebelLeader: One of the few key leaders of the lamia resistance against Dracula's rule.
* ReluctantFanserviceGirl: When told by Heirich to dress in a [[BlatantLies inconspicuous]] [[{{Stripperiffic}} vampire outfit]] (some [[OfCorsetsSexy corsets]], [[ZettaiRyouiki long boots]] and StockingFiller), she is very embarrassed.
* TechnicalVirgin: By Résurrection standards at least; despite having a sexual relationship with Heinrich, she is a "virgin" in the sense she never been bitten by a vampire before, which makes her highly valuable among them, as one ogre in Volume 5 offered to pimp her out to some vampires. The fact she already had sex before doesn't factor into her "virginity" at all.
* SexSlave: She is actually forced to become Dracula's bride, and both Sabbat and [[spoiler: Thurim]] taunt Requiem about this if he does not cooperate with their scheme.
* StarcrossedLovers: On Earth, she was a Jew and he was a Nazi. On Résurrection, she is a lamia and he is a vampire.
* VampireHunter: Calls herself one when she first interacts with Requiem for the first time.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sean]]
Previously, he was Claudia Demona's lover in life and unaware that she worshiped the Devil. When he discovered this, she killed him and as a result damned him to Résurrection as well when she became a vampire. Now he is a key leader of the lemurian resistence alongside Rebecca.
----
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: He is in love with Rebecca, but she doesn't return the feelings because she is interested only in killing Otto so she can leave this place and also because she still has some lingering feelings about Heinrich.
* BadassNormal: For whatever value the word "normal" holds in Résurrection. He doesn't have any obvious powers, but is still able to fight on the same level as vampires, who are all magic knights.
* {{BFS}}: He carries a two handed sword that is almost as large as him.
* BoomHeadshot: He was shot in the head in life, and he still bears the same scar.
* HeroAntagonist: The lamia are the closest thing to a good faction in Résurrection and they are in open revolt against [[EvilOverlord Dracula]], who sends Requiem to deal with them.
* LoveHurts: Poor guy doesn't catch a break romantically. His previous love interest blew his head off and damned him to Hell and the girl he is interested in right now will not entertain any affection from him.
* KnightInShiningArmor: In a sense, he wears a shining white armor and is an unambiguously good character.
* WrongGenreSavvy: In any other story, Sean would have been TheHero, fighting for salvation of his kind and the woman he loves, which is exactly how he feels like. He doesn't know he is a side character in a story focusing on his enemies.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Igor]]
!!Igor
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/igor.JPG]]

A kobold manservant provided to Requiem as a victim for him to feed on, he becomes a sidekick of sorts.
----
* AfraidOfBlood: He mentions it that he is terrified of blood in his first appearance. But given he was about to be bitten by a vampire and was terrified...
* ButtMonkey: Igor's wretched existence is {{played for laughs}}. For starters, his race is regarded as even lower than ''zombies''. He was given as a gift by Otto to Requiem, but since he is unable to feed directly.
* EvilRedhead: Of the HarmlessVillain variant.
* HarmlessVillain: This seems to be the kobolds' hat. Igor may have done some bad things in life to deserve being in Hell (if he didn't, he would have been a lamia like Rebecca), but he is treated as a joke by everyone.
* OurGoblinsAreDifferent: He is actually a kobold, but he is much closer to an goblin in appearance.
* SingleSpecimenSpecies: He is the only kobold seem so far in the series, though its presumed more of them exist. A couple are featured in the background in ''Claudia: Vampire Knight''.
* SmugSnake: The one time he tried to play tough was trying sell information about Mortis and the whole conspiracy to Requiem, but it didn't work because Requiem already knew and agree to be part of it.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Igor speaks in this fashion.
* TooDumbToLive: How did Igor end up in Requiem's service in the first place? He tried to sold him and Otto a mirror, which is highly illegal in Résurrection, prompting Otto to arrest him and use him as a victim.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Devil's Dictionary]]
!Le Dictionnaire Du Diable
The Devil's Dictionary is a small pterodactyl/dragon hybrid that has knowledge of all the evil anyone has done in the universe. Originally belonged to Mother Terror before her expiring and now serves as Requiem's sidekick.
----

* ExpositionFairy: He exists as a convenient plot device to rely information about the denizens of Résurrection to [[AudienceSurrogate Requiem]].
* TheOmniscient: As far as evil deeds are concerned, he knows everything.
* PirateParrot: He is introduced as Mother Terror's pet parrot.
* ShoulderSizedDragon

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mother Venus]]
!Mother Venus
She was the most notorious feminist of the Venus colony in the [=XXIIIth=] century, advocating systematic sterilisation of all males for the greater good. In Résurrection, she becomes a ghoul and replaces Mother Terror as head of their pirate fleet.
----
* DoesNotLikeMen: She says the words ''"woman"'' and ''"human"'' as ''"wo"'' and ''"hu"'' so she doesn't have to say the word "man". ''That'' is how much she dislikes men.
* TheDragon: To Mother Mitra.
* {{Gendercide}}: Engineered one on Venus, killing all males in the planet.
* KnightTemplar: And ''quite unapologetic'' about it. To the point she feels undeserving of being sentenced to Résurrection for her crimes.
* OurGhoulsAreCreepier: Essentially, they are [[WellIntentionedExtremist extremists who did horrific crimes in name of the greater good]].
* PoliticalOvercorrectness: Her speech is as PC as possible. Hookers are "pelvic labourer", dwarves are "vertically challenged", boobs are "fluid containers", girlfriend is "non-paid sex worker" and so forth.
* PirateGirl: She heads an entire fleet of [[NinjaPirateRobotZombie undead pirates]].
* StrawFeminist: In her view, men are "genetically challenged" and must be removed from the gene pool to not further pollute it.
* {{Stripperific}}: Amusingly, she is the female character to get called out on it, despite her extreme PC-tendencies. She claims she is making a feminist statement.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mother Mitra]]
The supreme Guildmaster of the Ghoul Pirates. She is seemingly working alongside Mortis (and by extension the Hellfire Club) to bring down Dracula, but she has her own agenda: to completely overthrow vampires as the ruling class of Résurrection and install the ghouls in their place.
----
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: [[spoiler:Elizabeth pins her to the wall using many knives and blades and then disembowels her using a huge axe]].
* DirtyCop: Its initially implied that Mitra might have been a corrupt police chief in life before becoming the Pirate Queen of Résurrection. It turns out to be incorrect, she used to be [[spoiler: the FBI Director from 1924 to 35...]]
* GenderBender: [[spoiler:She used to be a man in life]].
* FanDisservice: Mitra is wearing a very transparent gown and you can see her nipples through it. You may faint now.
* FatBastard: Morbidly-obese seems quite the {{understatement}} in describing her.
* ItsPersonal: As it turns out, Mitra has a personal reason why she wants to destroy the vampires: [[spoiler:When she was J. Edgar Hoover in life, he was murdered by vampires from Résurrection for investigating them]].
* HeKnowsTooMuch: The cause of death on Earth: [[spoiler:he knew about Dracula's second coming on Earth and was murdered by his henchmen]].
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: Brace yourselves, because you will not see this coming... She was [[spoiler:'''J. Edgar Hoover''']].
* KnightTemplar: She is a ghoul after all.
* LampreyMouth: Not apparent at first, but when Mitra opens her mouth, its revealed to be circular and filled with so many teeth.
* LargeAndInCharge: Mitra might be even bigger or at least wider in size than ''Dracula''.
* PirateGirl: Not an ''attractive'' example by any stretch, mind you. But she is a pirate and she is a female.
* VillainousCrossdresser: [[spoiler:In life at least, Hoover was pretending to be a woman while investigating about Résurrection, its probably why he reincarnated as a female]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Liches]]
!!Liches

A ghoul member of an Eastern crew summoned by Mitra in their all-out attack on Necropolis, the vampires' city. Liches used to be Madame Ho, a ''female'' Chinese gangster that had her entire family killed in the [[UsefulNotes/SecondSinoJapaneseWar Rape of Nanking]] at the hands of Japanese soldiers, and has a bone to pick with Dragon, who also participated in the massacre.
----
* ChainPain: Liches' hair is literally made of ''chains''.
* ChineseVampire: Well, not actually an vampire, since he is a ghoul and he ''hates'' vampires with passion. But he does resemble a ''jiang shi'' regardless.
* CurbStompBattle: [[spoiler:Requiem expires him in just one panel]].
* EvilOldFolks: In life at least, she was an old gangster and a pimp that dealt in human flesh.
* DualWielding: He wields a pair of katanas.
* GenderBender: Originally a woman on Earth, she was reincarnated as a male ghoul in Résurrection. Something we only find out before [[spoiler:Requiem destroys him]].
* ItsPersonal: His family was butchered by Dragon and his fellow soldiers in the Rape of Nanking, so he requests a chance to have a duel to the death with him. Mitra grants his wish, but she is advised to interrupt it because the ghouls need every ally they can get.
* MasterSwordsman: He is no slouch with a sword against Dragon, who was trained as a samurai and is a formidable opponent. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, the moment Liches runs into Requiem, he gets unceremoniously killed.]]
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Perhaps even more so than the ghouls, the Dystopians and the Hellfire Club working together, Liches has a very personal reason to dislike Dragon.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: [[spoiler:Dies in the same volume he is introduced to]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tomas de Torquemada]]
!Tomás de Torquemada
The biggest and most powerful werewolf in Résurrection, he was the Grand Inquisitor well known for his witch-hunts in the 15th century.
----
* BlackCloak: In his non-transformed form, he wears a black hood and cloak.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: He could only be kept under control by the lamias through brainwash.
* TheDragon: Ends up becoming one to [[spoiler:Claudia]].
* EyeScream: Requiem pulls out ''both of his eyes'' with impaling guns.
* FaceHeelTurn: [[spoiler:Originally on the lamias' side, he has been captured and turned as Claudia's minion. Though its not like his morality changed one bit, he just changed one master for another]]
* HolierThanThou: All religious fanatics are damned to rise as werewolves in Résurrection. Torquemada in particular views his condition as another mission from God to exterminate and punish the weak in Hell.
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: The notorious leader of UsefulNotes/TheSpanishInquisition.
* NominalHero: Tomás made countless victims in life and as result, several lamias despise him. Rebecca has to point out to one of his victims - a fellow Jew that was executed by Torquemada - that he is necessary in order to fight against Draconia's forces.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: Tomás is the largest and the strongest, can transform at will or if activated by his masters.
* ReasonYouSuckSpeech: Deliver an devastatingly savage one to Perfidia.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Queen Perfidia]]
!Queen Perfidia
Queen of the Dystopians, a LizardFolk nation in Résurrection that is clearly supposed to be analogous to Great Britain. Her nation has been long time enemies with Draconia, but they have been in recently shaky peace which can only be described as lukewarm at really best.
----
* CuteMonsterGirl: Really {{downplayed}}. She is not exactly gorgeous like [[CuteGhostGirl Rebecca]] or [[VampiresAreSexGods Claudia]], on the contrary, she is rather ''scary-looking'', but she is ''far'' human-looking next to the rest of her kind, who are humanoid lizards.
* EvilBrit: Well, a hellish version of Britain at any rate. Cripes, her empire's capital is named [[SdrawkcabName Donlon]].
* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: The female ruler of an [[TheEmpire empire]] of dishonest, moneygrubbing lizardmen from {{Hell}} is not exactly going to be TheHighQueen.
* GorgeousGorgon: Her hair turns into snakes when she is really angry.
* GrandDame: An ''evil example'', mind you.
* NoHistoricalFiguresWereHarmed: Though its is not outright confirmed that she was UsefulNotes/ElizabethI, the resemblance is uncanny.
* OutGambitted: She orders the Black Opium cargo from Draconia to be stolen so it can be sold back to the vampires for huge amounts of gold. Unfortunately for her, the vampires caught on her plan and secretly stole her gold, using it to pay her in her own money for the Black Opium. Ooops.
* SophisticatedAsHell: She is introduced speaking in a very lady-like manner like you'd expect a British Queen to talk like... And then tell her manservant to "go fuck himself" for not checking if the coins were their own.
* ThisMeansWar: After her ploy to have trick Dracula fell through, he pays back by burning Donlon to the ground and Perfidia formally declaring war between the two nations.
* TokenWholesome: Oddly enough, in a comic where every female character is sexualized to some extent, whether its to provide {{Fanservice}} or FanDisservice, Perfidia stands out among them by the fact she never appeared nude in the story and wears merely a [[VirginInAWhiteDress white]] PimpedOutDress instead of fetish-leather outfit or bandages. When you consider that she might have been Elizabeth I, also known as the Virgin Queen, [[FridgeBrilliance it makes sense she would fit this trope]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:King Ruthra]]
!King Ruthra
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ruthra.jpg]]

This comic's own version of Myth/KingArthur, he is the legendary Dystopian king that laid in slumber for eons until he is reawakened for the war against Dracula.
----
* CoolSword: His sword Excalibur, which is just as large as he is.
* DragonKnight: He is a dragon knight with a lion head.
* EvilBrit: Not just any evil brit though, but an evil depiction of one of their most legendary heroes!
* HistoricalVillainUpgrade: More like "Legendary Villain Upgrade" given Arthur's status whether he was a myth or a real person. Many depictions of King Arthur varied radically, with some of the least sympathetic featuring the [[NiceJobBreakingItHerod Massacre of the May Babies]], but of all things Arthur was accused of, being an EvilColonialist was ''not'' one of them, with this version of him embodying all the imperialist "virtues" that the Dystopians embrace so much.
* KingOfBeasts: He has a very leonine appearance, as well as very regal looking.
* KingInTheMountain: Much like the Arthurian myth, he would sleep until Brittannia / Dystopia would need him again. But given the circumstances, he probably qualifies as SealedEvilInACan.
* LightIsNotGood: The best example in the comics. Given that almost all evil characters in Resurrection leans towards RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver, Ruthra stand out by wearing ''gold'' armor and looking fairly angelic. He is just as evil as the rest of them, though.
* SdrawkcabName: Ruthra = Arthur.
* TrialByCombat: Challenges Dracula to one in order to settle the war between Dystopians and Vampires.
* WingedHumanoid: Despite having a clearly inhuman face, he otherwise fits the trope pretty nicely.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tolecnal]]
A knight of the Round Table and Ruthra's second in command. Yes, that is Sir Lancelot.
* ForGreatJustice: He declares that this is the reason they fight against vampires, but Ruthra corrects him saying their purpose is to RapePillageAndBurn.
* KnightInShiningArmor: The closest thing this setting has to this trope. Unfortunately, he is really dumb.
* LiteralMinded: When Lirem tells him the only way to awake Ruthra from his slumber is to "shower him with gold", Tolecnal proceeds to open his pants and ''prepares to piss on him''.
* SdrawkcabName: Tolecnal = Lancelot.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Among the Dystopians. Though this setting being [[CrapsackWorld what it is]], he is [[GoodIsDumb an idiot]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Arch-Hierophante]]
!The Arch-Hierophante
The supreme head of the Archaeologists, the faction responsible for studying and guarding technology in the setting. They were all [[MadScientist mad scientists]] in life, and the Arch-Hierophante's identity is a mystery, though its stated was an specialist in human vivisection. After Dracula punishes his men and has his emissary's maimed, the Arch-Hierophante becomes outraged and sides with the Hellfire Club in the conspiracy plot to dethrone Dracula.
----
* BadBoss: While he is very livid about his own Archeologists being abused by Dracula, he isn't afraid of throwing them under the bus himself to get what he wants. He threatens Dr. Dippel with a punishment similar to Prometheus in Greek mythology in case he fails him, and after he completes his task, the Arch-Hierophante turns Dippel's creation against him to hide his involvement in the attack against Dracula.
* BodyHorror: His body is so desiccated that he requires someone else's freshly flayed skin to walk around. He eventually has to return to his tank, and only for a few hours, since his new skin degrades at an alarming rate.
* DarkLordOnLifeSupport: He is very fragile and he requires to live in a tank all the time.
* TheDreaded: Invoked by him as he believes that his actions on Earth and all the resources he has in his disposal would have been enough to give Dracula's pause.
* EmperorScientist: The Arch-Hierophante is an independent head of state in his own right and leads a faction composed of entirely of [[MadScientist mad scientists]].
* TheEvilGenius: He plays this role to the Hellfire Club, providing them with superweapons to dethrone Dracula.
* FantasyGunControl: He withholds technology from falling into the hands of the lower classes so they can't threaten the vampires' authority.
* GenuineHumanHide: Whenever he feels like spreading his legs and taking a walk, his minions flay someone so he can wear their skin.
* HumongousMecha: He has a giant robot as a sarcophagus, but it hasn't been seen in action yet.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: The arbitrary punishment of his High Priest as Dracula's hands was enough for him to throw his lot with Black Sabbat.
* NephariousPharaoh: Not really an pharaoh, but his design is certainly evocative of one.
* NoHistoricalFiguresWereHarmed: Its heavily implied that he might have been Josef Mengele in real life.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: ZigZagged. He does look like someone who is at least several hundreds years old and mentions to have grown down alongside Lord Cryptos (who is also pretty old himself), but since everyone ages backwards in Résurrection and looking like a baby means you are extremely old, the fact the Arch-Hierophante looks ''positively ancient'' means he is holding pretty well.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Assistant High-Priest]]
!!The Assistant High-Priest
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/high_priest.JPG]]

The main Archaeologist aboard the S.S. Satanic, his predecessor had his mask nailed to his face by Dracula as punishment. Serving as the original's assistant, he had taken his place as scientific adviser to Dracula.
----

* ButtMonkey: Dracula sneers at him and the rest of his kind for using technology, has to endure Nero's constant harassment and threats of torture, neither has interest in hearing his advice and at one point he gets covered in literal dragon shit.
* DeathRay: He invented it in life and his first advice as High Priest to Dracula is to use photon torpedoes against an oncoming horde of lamias.
* TheEvilGenius: Serves as scientific mind and technical adviser to Dracula.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: He is not particularly loathsome or cruel outside of course, the fact he created a powerful weapon in life that was extremely dangerous. He is mostly a PunchClockVillain that is forced to work with an EvilOverlord that has no respect for him whatsoever. The fact that he is a ButtMonkey makes him somewhat sympathetic.
* MadScientist: He is an Archaeologist after all. In life, he invented the [[DeathRay death phaser beam]], which naturally ended up being misused and sentenced him to Résurrection.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: He is unaware that his superior, the Arch-Hierophante, is actually in league with the Hellfire Club, the Dystopians and the Ghoul pirate guild to overthrow Dracula, whom he is forced to play adviser to.
* NerdGlasses: His pair of googles certainly give him a geeky appearance.
* NoNameGiven: He is merely referred to as that, or simply High Priest.
* NoRespectGuy: He is a fairly reasonable fellow to count as OnlySaneMan, the problem is that he is surrounded by people like [[PsychopathicManchild Nero]] and [[EvilOverlord Dracula]], both of whom have no appreciation for him.
* PunchClockVillain: He doesn't partake in any random cruelty and only does his job.

The elusive deity worshiped by Crowley in life that served as inspiration for his master work, the Book of Law. It incarnated in Résurrection when Crowley became Black Sabbat, and they are both in a romantic relationship.
* AFormYouAreComfortableWith: Aiwass takes a more conventionally sensual form to [[spoiler:seduce Requiem]], even though she despises it.
* AnimalisticAbomination: Its a Lord of Limbo in the shape of a monkey.
* DarkActionGirl: In her female vampire form.
* DivineDate: She is in a relationships with the mortal, later vampire, Black Sabbat.
* FanDisservice: Hell, she is this trope InUniverse too when she [[spoiler:assumes her male mandrill form while having sex with Requiem, much to his abject horror]].
* HotGod: Her female form, which is conventionally attractive. Don't expect her to appear like that, though...
* InterspeciesRomance: A Lord of Limbo in the shape of an mandrill hooking up with a vampire, something Sabbat brags about InUniverse that their love is superior to [[OfficialCouple Heinrich and Rebecca]] because it ''transcends species''.
* IHaveManyNames: Used to be revered as [[{{Satan}} Shaitan]] by the Sumerians, and Set by the Egyptians.
* PhysicalGod: A dark goddess and may as well be one of Demons of Limbo in physical form.
* TheManBehindTheMan: Or rather [[AnimalisticAbomination the monkey-shaped abomination]] behind the vampires, as she is [[spoiler: the true mastermind behind the conspiracy to overthrown Dracula, with Lord Cryptos ruling as a public figurehead and Sabbat acting as her emissary]].
* NoBiologicalSex: It can take any gender it wants, and its frequently referred by male and female pronouns. Given its [[EldritchAbomination a Lord of Limbo]], the concept of gender is completely inapplicable.
* UnholyMatrimony: With Sabbat.
* WarGod: Referred to as "Goddess of War and Vengeance" during a dark ritual to allow [[spoiler:Requiem to wield Thurim's hammer]].
* YeOldeButcheredEnglish: Speaks like this in mandril form at least.

A massive flesh golem created by Dr. Dippel on the Arch-Hierophante's orders to assassinate Count Dracula and help the Hellfire Club take over.
* TheBrute: As befitting a Frankenstein's monster-type.
* GeniusBruiser: Despite his purpose as TheBrute, Deucalion has been outfitted with a super Pentagon computer for a brain and has been described by his creator as "Frank-''[[UsefulNotes/AlbertEinstein Enstein]]''" as indication of his intelligence.
* FrankensteinsMonster: In fact, its revealed on Volume 11 that he inspired Mary Shelley's creation of ''Literature/{{Frankenstein}}'' after drinking a dose of Black Opium and having a vision of his construction.
* MeaningfulName: Dippel named him after Deucalion from Greey mythology, who created men using clay.
* StableTimeLoop: He owes his creation to a MadScientist that served as partial inspiration to Victor Frankenstein in the Mary Shelley's book, but Volume 11 reveals that a vision of the future that Shelly had was what inspired her to write her famous book.
