This page lists characters that don't fit in any other category because they lack any real involvement with the plot, are Posthumous Characters or because they're Walking Spoilers for the story.

!Macaron

Kurumi's pet kitten who first appears in her arc, being the kitten she saves from those thugs.

----
* AscendedExtra: Downplayed, but he's the same cat that causes Shido to learn that Kurumi is willing to kill people.
* Pet the Cat: In canon, the kitten that becomes Macaron in this story vanishes after the scene where Mana kills Kurumi. Here it ends up running to Shido who has Ratatoskr treat its injuries and finally gets a home.
* SatelliteCharacter: Mainly exists just to be Kurumi's pet cat, and only shows up within the Takamiya Household or Ratatoskr base.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Like in canon, his only real involvement in the story comes from his debut scene.
* TeamPet: Pretty much what Macaron is as a whole, though even then he's more of Kurumi's pet.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Macaron often seems to disappear before showing up again, justified because he doesn't have any large role overall.

!Sakura and Ren Yatogami

Tohka's parents and technological developers from Ratatoskr, and the reason she met and fell in love with Shido. When everything went to hell from the First Spacequake, they were tasked with keeping Shido and Mana safe, but were believed to have been murdered when the DEM attacked their home, only later revealed to have just been put into stasis. After the DEM's true nature is exposed to the world, their pods are found and they’re awakened, reuniting with their daughter.

----
* AbsurdlyYouthfulMother: Both of Tohka’s parents are much younger (biologically at least) than they appear due to a combination of their cellular aging being stopped by the First Spacequake, and the fact that Tohka was the result of an accidental TeenPregnancy.
* BuxomBeautyStandard: At least that's what Sakura's genetics believe, as Tohka inherited her curvy figure from her.
* DeceasedParentsAreTheBest: Tohka admits as early as the Origami arc that her parents might be dead, but still hopes they're still alive somehow, which crushes her upon Rinne confirming it during her arc. Luckily, this ends up being subverted when their true fates are revealed in the Ars Install arc.
* GenerationXerox: Tohka is the spitting image of her mother when she's not wearing her usual ponytail, even having the same black hair as her before it was turned purple by the effects of the first Spacequake. Sakura even implies that Tohka ends up having a ChildhoodFriendRomance because of how early she and Ren married.
* GoodParents: One of the most loving parents you can find, even being very supportive of Tohka and Shido falling in love when they were still only 7-year old's, this made Tohka all the more upset about their deaths before the revelation they were alive.
** Ren adds to this through the simple fact of marrying Sakura to take responsibility for giving her a TeenPregnancy.
* HappilyMarried: Sakura and Ren show their love is incredibly strong, enough that they married at a young age, even though it was mostly due to Sakura’s TeenPregnancy.
* Irony: One of the meanings of the Sakura flower is "the short-lived beauty of youth", but the youth of her family became eternal due to the First Spacequake, and Tohka’s transformation into a Spirit.
* ItRunsInTheFamily: They're pretty much the same as their daughter in personality, even sharing her usual naivete and innocence, as if their personalities are genetic. The same applies to body types as Tohka gets her curves from her mother.
* MumLooksLikeASister: Due to the locking of their cellular aging, Sakura looks like she’s actually Tohka’s sister.
* OlderThanTheyLook: They look to be slightly older, if not the same age, as their daughter. Justified by the First Spacequake's effects stopping their cellular aging.
* PosthumousCharacter: Subverted. The first two seasons treat them as having died, only for the Ars Install arc to reveal they’re still alive.
* ShipperOnDeck: They've been shipping their daughter and Shido together... since they were both 7!
* TeenPregnancy: During a flashback, Sakura mentions she married Ren early, with Tohka quickly following, implying this is why they married young. The author confirms this as true.

!Haruko and Tatsuo Itsuka

Kotori’s parents and engineers working for Ratatoskr’s Asgard Electronics division.

----
* TheEngineer: What their job at Asgard Electronics is, the Ratatoskr’s Sagittarius is a ship they had a hand in creating.
* GoodParents: Despite they aren’t home often, they’re quite the doting parents to Kotori, and she’s fairly happy when she sees them in the Ars Install arc.
* HenpeckedHusband: Downplayed, but it’s clear that Haruko has to keep her family on her toes, especially when it comes to her husband.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Tatsuo tends to fall for things that would take advantage of him, leading Haruko to have to keep a close eye on him.
* MumLooksLikeASister: Zig-zagged. At the beginning of the story, it would be easy to tell Haruko is simply Kotori’s mother, but after the latter’s OvernightAgeUp, they now look like sisters.
* OnlySaneMan: Downplayed, but Haruko is this for the two of them, as Tatsuo has nearly fallen for scams and such in the past that Haruko kept him from agreeing to.
* ParentalAbandonment: Averted, as Haruko and Tatsuo are simply part of Asgard Electronics, so they’re usually not home because their jobs require them to be in the American branch. They come back for a visit in the Ars Install arc, but seem to have decided to stay due to the events that occurred during them.
* RedIsHeroic: Kotori gets her red hair from her mother.
* SecretKeeper: They never told Kotori about the true nature of their job, surprising her when Reine reveals it during the Yoshino arc.

!Souji Hasegawa

The mentor of Nia, and the first wielder of Raziel before it was inherited by Nia. She was the true creator of Silver Bullet, but the concept was only able to take off because of Nia's help when they first met. Unfortunately, tragedy soon occurred when she became the first Spirit to be killed by he DEM, heavily jading Nia's view of Humanity.

----
* BackFromTheDead: Zig-zagged. While she was brought back by Rinne's revival wave, the damage Ellen gave to her gave her a permanent form of amnesia, meaning the Souji that Nia knew is truly gone forever.
* BlankSlate: Because of how Ellen killed her, the Souji that Nia knew is gone forever because the cells containing those memories were completely destroyed.
* DeathByOriginStory: She's the only reason Nia is a Spirit, having passed on the Raziel Crystal to her during her final moments.
* HopeSpot: Nia visits her at the hospital upon realizing she's revived, thinking she can believe in Humanity again... only for Souji to not recognize her at all.
* PassingTheTorch: Unlike other cases when Rio chose a successor to a recently killed Spirit, Nia received the crystal from Souji herself, having already known when Souji received it that she was compatible with it.
* YouRemindMeOfX: When Nia makes another visit to her after being sealed, its revealed that one part of her memory did survive, the memory of Nia's name, and how important she was to her, enough that seeing a saddened Nia leave after her first visit was painful to her. This alone is enough to give Nia some peace she truly needed.

!Seigo Takamiya

The patriarch of the Takamiya family, and father to Shido and Mana, he was lost in the Spirit Dimension over 40 years ago where he would meet and fall in love with Rinne, indirectly starting a majority of events in the story. After finally returning home with his children, he intends to officially marry his Rinne, only for Westcott to use this to set off the Spirit Dimension’s destruction, and begin the war between Ratatoskr and the DEM. Eventually, he is killed after being successful in an attempt to rescue his children, and Tohka, from the DEM’s captivity, passing on his sealing ability to his son before his soul shatters.

Later on, it's revealed that the Takamiya family are the guardians of the Spirits, and Mio Takamiya (who ends up becoming his sister as Reine), making his sealing ability not a creation from substances in the DEM infecting him during the rescue mission, but a power that God himself had his family pass down. After the mission he began is finished by Shido, he’s restored to life, and is now happily living with his family, having finally married the woman he loved, while taking over Ratatoskr in place of his fallen friend Elliot.

----
* AdventurerArchaeologist: Seigo's job is that of an explorer, which is how he ended up falling into the Spirit Dimension in the first place... unfortunately, Westcott just happened to be his boss.
* BackFromTheDead: He's brought back to life by Isamu after helping Mio regain her true form, being his final act before the deity dies permanently.
* DeaderThanDead: His soul was shattered upon dying, meaning that Rinne’s revival wave couldn't revive him. Luckily, while Rinne couldn’t do it, Isamu was able to revive him, albeit with a slightly different look.
* GenerationXerox: His children look just like him, justified by the fact that Rinne had no genetics to pass, leaving only his to be inherited by them.
* HappilyMarried: Upon bring brought back to life, he's finally gotten married to his wife.
* PosthumousCharacter: He's already dead when the story begins, and stays that way for three whole seasons.
* RankUp: Becomes the new leader of Ratatoskr after the death of Elliot.
* SecretLegacy: He and his entire family line knew of God, the Spirit Dimension, and the village of wizards, with him being the latest Takamiya to take on the family mission
* SpannerInTheWorks: He's the reason the Ethereal Form exists, due to his brotherly bond with Mio during her time as Reine, and his romantic love for Rinne.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: He had no idea Westcott was betting on him falling in love with a Spirit as part of his plans.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: When he's finally brought back to life, his appearance is said to be different, implying his original form was lost due to how he died.

!Isamu Murasame

Reine's husband, and also Seigo's best friend in their childhood. During the time Seigo was trapped in the Spirit Dimension, they ended up growing close, and then fell in love.

----
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Was the best friend of Seigo, and eventually Reine. He would develop feelings for Reine, but both had a case of Cannot Spit It Out. It wasn't until when Seigo went missing in the Spirit Dimension that they finally confessed due to their shared feelings of loss.
* PosthumousCharacter: Has been dead for only slightly longer than Seigo, and Jessica was the one who killed him, explaining Mana’s intense hatred for the wizard upon just seeing her.
* SatelliteCharacter: Barely anything about him is known, and often enough whenever he and Seigo are mentioned, Seigo is the one who gets all the focus... this ultimately ends up being as Foreshadowing to Isamu’s true identity.

!God

The true form of Isamu Murasame, as well as the creator of Earth, and the Spirit Dimension/Heaven. Many years ago, he met his end when he faced off against the Devil, and has since been doing all he can to give Earth a chance in stopping him.

----
* BigGood: For the entire series, all of his efforts have been to heal the Devil’s damage, and then find a way to stop him and outright reverse it upon realizing he’s alive.
* CreatingLifeIsAwesome: He created Humanity, along with the Demons. Unfortunately, after making the latter...
* DeaderThanDead: What his fight with the Devil did to him, leaving him with a curse that made him unable to come back to life, with his soul only have a short time before he his body faded from existence.
* DespairEventHorizon: When he kept seeing visions of a bad future that began with Westcott successfully killing Tohka and taking her Sephira Crystal, making it seem like there was no way to change it... then Shido was born, and that vision suddenly changed to end result of the Tohka arc, making him realize there is hope for a better future.
* FailedASpotCheck: The Mio Reminisce arc implies that a few of the details he shared with Mio might have some discrepancies among them.
* FlingALightIntoTheFuture: Before passing on permanently, he tells Mio that defeating the Devil will restore the damage he did, and the innocent lives he silenced, a wish she promises to make a reality.
** Indirectly does this when he creates the Spirit Dimension, as by turning his surviving 10 Angels into the Sephira Crystals, he created the means that allowed Shido's birth to finally change the bad future, and give the world a chance to stop the Devil.
* GodIsDead: He’s been dead as long as Mio’s been alive.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: When he created the world of the Demons, he instantly saw things with them were going wrong, and instantly sought to right his wrong. Unfortunately, he was too late, giving birth to the Devil.
* HeroicBSOD: The bad future his visions keep making him see, along with realizing he’s been unable to stop the Devil because he can’t truly counter his antithesis, nearly breaks him.
* HotGod: The brief mention of his appearance implies he was quite the looker.
* KilledOffForReal: After finally restoring Mio's memories and explaining everything... his soul loses the last bit of strength, and passes on, but not before granted Seigo a delayed revival.
* LukeIAmYourFather: He's none other than Mio's father.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: When he realizes what Hell was becoming, and how he indirectly made his own Antithesis in the Devil, who in turn made an army of Demons that were the same to the Angels.
* OurGodsAreDifferent: Angels/Spirits are considered the same as Gods in the setting.
* OutsideTheBoxTactic: Why he’s entrusted Humanity and the Spirits with the task of ending the Devil's threat for good. Upon seeing Shido’s birth change the future, he realizes this is how the Devil can finally be defeated, while he can’t truly counter the Devil due to him being his antithesis... that same logic doesn’t apply if someone else tries to defeat him.
* PapaWolf: Mio is extremely precious to him, enough he does everything to aid her despite being dead.
* Precognition: Can look into the future, but only a possible future. This once troubled him due to the only vision he got as mentioned in his DespairEventHorizon and HeroicBSOD until Shido’s birth finally showed a new result. By the time he dies, he says he doesn’t know how the future will unfold, meaning that defeating Westcott and the Devil depends on everyone's efforts.
* SecretKeeper: After the Devil damages the world in the battle of Heaven and Hell, he keeps things destroyed by them secret. He then gives the Takamiya Family a SecretLegacy related to the Spirits, and forms a village of Wizards.
* SuperEmpowering: Gives the Takamiya family an ability called the "key" that would be passed on from parent to child, which ends up being the reason that Shido have the power to seal Spirits, inheriting it from his father.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: He had no idea so much would go wrong from creating the Demons, especially when he had created Humanity without any problems.
* WalkingSpoiler: The biggest of all, in fact, his official reveal is when every remaining secret left in the story comes out into the open.

!The Original Angels

The 10 surviving Angels from the war against Heaven and Hell, in the present day, they’ve become the Sephira Crystals that the Spirits inherited. Even then still live on in the form of the collective consciousnesses that manifest as each Spirit's Ethereal Forms, becoming their guides after they achieve their Ethereal Forms.

----
* AndThenWhat: Tohka says this through asking if Sandalphon knows that killing her will let her take control of her body, or kill both of them... Sandalphon realizes she doesn't know, which is the first part of her HeelRealization.
* AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence: They were transformed into the Sephira Crystals, becoming the cornerstones for the Spirit Dimension, though eventually their wills are revived... albeit not by the best means.
* AstralProjection: Once they merge with their Angel, they can manifest themselves as small translucent projections of their respective Spirit’s Ethereal Form.
* BackFromTheDead: The combined wills of the deceased Spirits' formed into a collective consciousnesses that linked to their respective region's Sephira Crystal, and revived their souls upon Westcott giving them the Inversion Taint.
* ButNowIMustGo: The Mio arc ends with them destroying the Inverse Void for good, passing on the future to their reincarnations.
* FaceHeelTurn: Because of Westcott's actions in destroying the Spirit Dimension, the negative emotions of the killed Spirits remove their sense of reason, turning them into the Spirits' Inverse Forms, and filling them with hatred towards Humanity.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: Because they were revived via the dead spirits reacting to the Inversion Taint, their revived souls were filled with their negative emotions, forming a hatred for Humanity in their hearts.
* HeelFaceTurn: When the Spirits manage to remind them that HumansAreSpecial, they shake off the corruption the Inversion Taint, allowing them to become their original selves again.
* HeelRealization: Part of their Heel Face Turns comes from them having this upon remembering HumansAreSpecial.
* HeroicSacrifice: Twice. The first is to save their respective Spirits from dying when the Devil destroys their powers, which is undone by Mio, and then played straight to destroy the Inverse Void.
* HumansAreBastards: Due to how their souls are revived, they all gain an extreme hatred towards Humanity, and believe the entire species needs to be punished with extinction because Westcott did the same to the Spirits. Luckily, this is later subverted when the Spirits' actions remind them how they really feel about Humans.
* HumansAreSpecial: They all once believed this due to being Angels that served God, and making them remember this is how the Spirits unlock their Ethereal Forms.
* LivingWeapon: After their hatred is quelled, they merge with their respective Spirit's weapon to become this, truly making their Angels sentient. This also makes their Angels go from genderless, to becoming female.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Tohka eventually makes Sandalphon realize that by trying to kill all of Humanity for an action only Westcott caused, she's become no different from him, if not worse, which leads to her HeelRealization.
* OurAngelsAreDifferent: Angels/Spirits are considered the same as Gods in the setting.
* PassingTheTorch: While not in a direct manner, they eventually pass their powers onto their reincarnations through the Sephira Crystals.
** The Spirits' Ethereal Forms are their original outfits and abilities when they were still Angels.
** Directly done at the end of the Mio arc, where they finally disappear.
* Reincarnation: The current Spirits (counting the Yamai sisters being twins) are their reincarnations, which is why they look identical to each other, and can manifest as projections of the Ethereal Forms.
* SpiritAdvisor: To their respective Spirit/Reincarnation.
* WalkingSpoiler: Their existence is connected to some of the biggest reveals of Season 3, and the story as a whole.

----
!Villains

!Edgar F. Carroll

A member of the DEM that acted as the producer that ruined Miku's career in an attempt for Westcott to try controlling who'd become a Spirit. He tries to take over the DEM during the events of Kotori's arc, using Minerva to do his dirty work, with little luck.

----
* AscendedExtra: Downplayed, aside from being the same man that ruined Miku's career, he barely has a bigger role than he did in canon.
%%* DeathByAdaptation: While the status of the producer that ruined Miku's life in canon is uncertain at this point, Edgar, who is the producer here, dies in this story.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He dies shortly after being introduced, though gives Foreshadowing to some of Westcott's hidden power due to how he was killed.

!Victoria Bailey

The mother of Jessica Bailey, and a former holder of the Adeptus 2 position in DEM Industries. She was a quiet and emotionless fighter, but a dangerous wizard who did her job well. However, she would ultimately meet her end when Ryouko fought her, and caused her CR-Unit to explode while she was wearing it, her death would motivate Jessica to eventually follow in her footsteps.

----
* ActionMom: She was both a mom, and one of the strongest DEM wizards of her time.
* DeceasedParentsAreTheBest: Jessica joins the DEM simply because she dies, implying their bond was at least a positive one.
* DefeatEqualsExplosion: How she dies. She gets electrocuted by a live wire that Ryouko thrusts at her, and while her CR-Unit prevents the shocks from killing her, the electricity causes it to overload, leading to it exploding while she's still wearing it.
* GoodParents: Implied. While we never see her beyond some of Ryouko's flashbacks, Jessica joined the DEM after her death, and asked Mana if she'd see her in her final moments. Whatever their relationship was, Jessica had a positive view about her.
* HeroKiller: At least killed one Spirit, which was one of Kurumi's predecessors.
* LegacyCharacter: Was the previous Adeptus 2 for at least 6 years before she was killed.
* PosthumousCharacter: She's been dead for 9 years by the time the story begins.
* TheStoic: She's only been seen showing little to no emotion, though this could simply be what she was like when working as Adeptus 2.

!Choronzon

The Ultimate Demon King, born when Westcott forces the right conditions to cause Shido to undergo an Inversion, but becoming more than he had intended when he manifests as a dark tree that threatens to destroy the world.

----
* AmbiguousGender: Due to the nature of its two appearances, its been a male while connected with Shido in its arc, but a female when under Ellen's control in the Mio arc.
* BigBad: Of Season 2.
* TheCorrupter: Tries to force Tohka into an Inversion, and it might have succeeded if Seigo hadn't helped Tohka unlock her Ethereal Form.
* TheDragon: Only in its second appearance, where Ellen's soul has somehow come through it.
* EvilCounterpart: It's the Demon King counterpart of Rinne's Angel, Uriel.
* ForTheEvulz: The only reason it wants to destroy the world? Because it wants to, and thinks it can.
* GoneHorriblyRight: Westcott wanted Shido to Inverse, and Choronzon was the result, problem is... it worked a bit too well.
* KilledOffForReal: While his Demon King form reappears as Rinne's weapon in the Sephira Fury arc, the personality of this Choronzon doesn't manifest, proving it was killed beyond recovering as stated in Season 2.
** This is still true when it reappears in the Mio arc, as Ellen's soul has somehow become the Demon King.
* TheresNoKillLikeOverkill: Justified. In order to gain the power kill Choronzon, the entire world had to work together by gathering enough light to weaken it, and give the Spirits the chance they needed to destroy his Qlipha Crystal.
* WaveMotionGun: Choronzon's strongest attack, the "Chaotic Divergence" is this, it was powerful enough to sink the remains of Europe.
* TheWorfEffect: It's very weak the second time it appears, and beaten very easily. This is justified when its reveal that Ellen, who was dead by that point, somehow fused her soul with it.
* YourMindMakesItReal: Some of its powers came from the result of Shido's thoughts, a prime example being able to constantly revive a clone of Inverse Tohka through Shido's denial of seeing a hallucination of Tohka brutally murdered.

!The Demons

The forces of the Devil's army, who appear to help Westcott and their master in the final leg of Season 3.

----
* BackFromTheDead: The Qliphoth Demons between the Sephira Fury and Mayuri arcs by unknown means, and then every Demon during the Mio arc by the Devil.
* CurbstompBattle: On the giving, and receiving end of this. They give it when the Spirits first fight them, but receive it when Mio restores everyone's powers.
* EvilCounterpart: To the Spirits, with each one having something similar to the Spirit they oppose.
* ForTheEvulz: Being the Devil's creations, they only want to cause chaos.
* FusionDance: They combine with each other to recreate the second Choronzon that Ellen's soul inhabits.
* OneGenderRace: All of the Demons are shown to be male, in contrast to all of the Spirits being female.
* WalkingSpoiler: Their existence exposes the end of the Mayuri arc, and the reason for the events of the Mio arc.

!The Devil

The mortal enemy of God, and the true source behind the events of not just everything from 30 years ago, but long before the history of human memory. After losing his body to God in a previous battle, he sets events to revive him, leading to Westcott accepting an offer to become his reincarnation. From that point on... the two do everything they can to make Earth into their new personal Hell.

----
* BackFromTheDead: After Westcott dies, he's revived, and becomes the final threat to the world.
* DealWithTheDevil: He made one with Westcott to let him reincarnate through him, and Westcott agreed.
* TheDragon: He's this to Westcott because they've merged their souls, which requires Westcott to do the actual work with him only supporting the head of DEM.
* DragonAscendant: When the Diabolus' destruction kills Westcott, he finally revives, allowing him to take over as the final threat of story.
* EldritchAbomination: He's a dark red humanoid with a lower body resembling a Centaur, neon yellow eyes, six arms and legs with dragon-like claws, and six black ram horns on his head.
** Then its revealed his true form is something like a living heart, which was he originally was when God created him.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: He fully intends to honor his deal with Westcott, considering the latter's willing to help him revive through his body. Only when Westcott's dead does he decide to do whatever he wants.
* EvilCounterpart: Where God was the strongest of the Angels, he is the strongest of the Demons.
* ForTheEvulz: He is everything God is not, with everything he does being just to cause chaos.
* GrewBeyondTheirProgramming: God never expected that one of the Demons he created to become capable of evolving into his EvilCounterpart.
* HeroKiller: During the war between Heaven and Hell, he managed to kill God in the most permanent way possible.
** He does it again when in the Mio arc, he barely has to life a finger to briefly kill all of the Spirits (minus Mio and Shido) by simply destroying their powers.
* KilledOffForReal: He's truly done in for good when the Spirits unite, and vaporize his true form with a combined attack.
* MergerOfSouls: Has done this with Westcott, and now simply needs to reincarnate his power into the latter to truly revive.
* PosthumousCharacter: Zig-zagged, he lost his body, but he's merged with Westcott to revive himself. Yet his power hasn't reincarnated into the latter just yet, making it very hard to really saw how "dead" he actually is. He's fully revived by the Mio arc.
* Reincarnation: Through Westcott. He still needs to reincarnate his actual power into him, which is something Westcott is trying to achieve through his plans.
* StoryBreakerPower: He's so strong, it required someone with powers on the same level to have any chance against him.
* TheresNoKillLikeOverkill: He didn't just kill God, he hit him with a curse that guaranteed he'd be DeaderThanDead.
* TheVoiceless: Until his revival, he never spoke a word, leaving Westcott to do all the talking for him.
* WorfHadTheFlu: The author states by the time he's revived, he can't use the curse he destroyed God, despite being as strong as ever. This gives the Spirits a major advantage in stopping him for good.
