!!Raizen High School
The high school attended by Shido, as well as several Spirits after he sealed them.

[[folder:Tamae Okamine]]
!!Tamae Okamine
!!! '''Voiced by:''' Kaori Sadohara (Japanese), Creator/AnastasiaMunoz (English), Ivette Ortiz (Latin-American Spanish)

Shido's homeroom teacher who's quite dedicated to her job. She's very anxious to get married.
----
* AffectionateNickname: A number of her students address her as "Tama-chan".
* BerserkButton: She's very sensitive to words like "proposal" and "marriage."
* BespectacledCutie: The bespectacled Tamae is a well-liked and popular teacher.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: In the Reine Marriage Hunt side story, she sets several specific high standards for her potential husband, then gets told by Reine to be more lenient... she ''slightly'' adjusts her standards from 35+ years old to 36+ years old, 180+ cm tall to 179+ cm tall, and an 8 million+ yen annual income to 7.9 million+ annual outcome.
* {{Manchild}}: Being cutesy and childish at times often obfuscates the fact that she's approaching her thirties.
* OldMaid: She's 29 and still single. Approaching her 30th birthday in Volume 14 causes her to have a nervous breakdown in front of her class. [[spoiler:Volume 21 reveals that she has since become engaged which Kannazuki.]]
* OlderThanSheLooks: Despite being in her late 20's, Tamae has a childish face and a small body build.
* SenseiChan: Her students usually called her by her nickname, Tama-chan, due to her youthful looks. She also spends most of her time worrying about her single status.

[[folder:Hiroto Tonomachi]]
!!Hiroto Tonomachi
!!! '''Voiced by:''' Creator/AnriKatsu (Japanese), Nick Haley (English), Axel Láscari [Seasons 2-3], Juan Carlos González [Season 4] (Latin-American Spanish)

Shido's classmate. He has a 2D girlfriend who looks a lot like Kotori, and he apparently likes the real thing as well. [[MySisterIsOffLimits Shido has had to brush him off quite a few times]].
----
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: In the anime adaptation, his jealousy of Shido for having so many hot girls falling for him disappears in favour of his relationship with a 2D girlfriend.
* AmbiguouslyBi: Ai, Mai and Mii have heard rumours about him "swinging both ways." Between his unnervingly chummy attitude with Shido and his obsession with dating sim girls, the cloud thickens. This is subverted during Volume 8 however, as when Natsumi shapeshifted into Shido and made a move on him, Hiroto was very disturbed.
* BromanticFoil: He gets very chummy with Shido, although most of the time he's boasting about how his relationship with his 2D girlfriend is going. Somehow, this was what made Ai, Mai and Mii think he and Shido were dating long before they supported Shido[=/=]Tohka.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Black hair and eyes.
* GreenEyedMonster: He (and many other male students) hold a grudge against Shido for having so many girls around him and all clearly wanting a piece of him.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Shido, to the extent that others thought [[MistakenForGay they were an actual couple]]. Then the Spirits came...
* {{Otaku}}: In the anime, he has a 2D girlfriend.

Three girls who appear occasionally. Shido's classmates. They become Tohka's friends some time after she transfers into Shido's school.
----
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: Ai is the blonde, Mii's dark blue hair makes her the "brunette", and Mai has auburn hair.
* CatchphraseInsult: In the anime, when they're commenting on the goings on Mii will end it by saying "Majihiku waa" (meaning "Gross" or "Lame.")
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: All three of them have matching eye and hair colours.
* CutenessProximity: The three absolutely {{Squee}} when they meet Yoshino.
* TheGenericGirl: Mai is sometimes noted for being the most plain of the trio.
* GyaruGirl: Ai is often seen wearing her school uniform in a leisurely fashion, leaving the blazer and shirt collar unbuttoned and forgoing the ribbon normally worn around the latter by female students. During her spare time, she wears a white t-shirt with purple shorts. She often is seen tying a yellow cardigan around her waist. At her wrist, she wears two bracelets.
* IfYouEverDoAnythingToHurtHer: They frequently threaten Shido with torture or outright death should he make Tohka upset.
* TheLeader: Ai leads the gang wherever they go and is almost always the first to start her lines.
* OneWordVocabulary: Mii is only ever heard saying "gross" or "lame".
* {{Punny Name}}s: Their names are a pun on I, My, Me.
* SatelliteCharacter: All of them really only exist for making comments, and indirectly causing Ellen trouble if they're in the same general area as her.
* ShipperOnDeck: They support Shido/Tohka. Not even Miku's mind control could force them to convincingly lie that Shido doesn't love Tohka.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Their antics end up derailing Ellen's attempts to trail Tohka on the school trip. It seems like they can ruin Ellen's plans with their antics regardless of the situation.
* ThoseTwoGirls: The three are minor supporting characters who are rarely seen apart.
* YourAnswerToEverything: Mii describes ''every single'' goings on as "gross" or "lame".

!!Anti-Spirit Team

The Anti-Spirit Team, or AST, is a special secret unit within the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, the main branch of the Japan Self-Defense Forces responsible for the land-based military operations. The AST is designed to suppress and eliminate the Spirits by means of killing them, though, they have yet to do anything more than drive them off. The public have no knowledge of this Special Forces Unit. Currently, it is shown that the AST is made purely out of females and for the most part, teenage girls.

[[folder:In General]]
* AmazonBrigade: They're a group of very attractive young women trained to fight Spirits.
* AntiVillain: Unlike DEM, they're genuinely dedicated to protecting the public from Spirits, even if many of these Spirits aren't really a threat beyond involuntary Spacequakes. Ryouko sets up Origami to sabotage Jessica's squad when they were about to barge into public space guns ablaze just to capture Tohka and Shido.
* DemotedToExtra: After the departure of their two most important members, Origami and Mana, they get pushed into the background, with DEM becoming the main threat against the Spirits.
* FauxActionGirl: For the most part, they're completely ineffective at killing the Spirits that they've been trained to fight. Mana stands out for doing so, but she’s really just been killing Kurumi’s weaker clones, barely surviving her first encounter with the real deal.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:In Volume 17, they end up fighting alongside the Spirits once they realize how little DEM cares about them.]]
* HeroAntagonist: It's not hard to imagine they would be the heroes if the story didn't take place from the Spirits' point of view.
* NavelOutline: Their combat suits have a transparent mid-section and a visible navel outline.
* PoweredArmor: The Combat Realizer unit, a magically-powered armor that gives it user enhanced strength and special weapons to fight Spirits.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: In combat, they're dressed in suits of armor that don't leave much to imagination.
* SympatheticInspectorAntagonist: True, they want to destroy Spirits, but only to prevent them from causing human casualties, given their spacequakes are very real dangers to people. They might not even be aware of Shido and Ratatoskr's more lenient methods of dealing with them.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Origami Tobiichi]]
-> The Ace of the AST, but technically a reserve member. See the [[Characters/DateALive6thto10thSpirits 6th to 10th Spirits page]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ryouko Kusakabe]]
!! Captain Ryouko Kusakabe
!!! '''Voiced by:''' Ao Takahashi (Japanese), Creator/CaitlinGlass (English), Ximena Fragoso (Latin-American Spanish)
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ryouko_ast.png]]

Current captain of the AST squad. Kyouhei Kannazuki was the captain when she was new to the team.
----
* BloodKnight: Shows shades of this when ordering her troops to continue firing non-stop.
* TheCaptain: She's the leader of the regular AST squad sent to fight the Spirits, as well as Origami's direct superior.
* ChewingTheScenery: She's prone to violent outbursts [[RageBreakingPoint when her stress gets the better of her]].
--> '''Ryouko:''' '''Screw you, spirits!'''
* TheComicallySerious: She orders her AST squad to prepare for a mission... while packing on luggage for said mission, which is a trip to the hot springs.
* CoolBigSis: Towards Origami and the members of her AST squad.
* CouldSayItBut: After getting ridiculous orders by the DEM squad that is placed with her team, she goes to the room that Origami (who she has been ordered not to include in or even let know that there is a mission) is changing in and proceeds to rant about the mission to attack Tengu square during the festival while people are still there and kidnap Tohka and Shidou, as well as lamenting the fact that she's so angry that she might just leave the room with the special weapon White Licorice unlocked.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Dark grey eyes and hair.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The HotSpringsEpisode ''alone'' shows what's she's capable of.
** When DEM starts giving orders that focus more on accomplishing a goal than protecting the citizens, she doesn't hesitate to explain just how much of a problem immoral orders are to her. When she's ignored? She decides to indirectly sabotage their efforts.
* LargeHam: Very much so in the HotSpringsEpisode, and it's quite jarring as she's typically very serious.
* OlderThanTheyLook: She's 27, and yet looks only a bit older than Origami.
* RageBreakingPoint: Normally she keeps a professional attitude about everything, but when she gets fed up with the obstacles in the way of her squad's trip to the hot springs, in addition of the previous stress built up due to her superiors' rantings, she snaps and comically goes on a rampage to destroy Ratatoskr's traps.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Cares deeply for her team and the citizens that she's protecting. When the DEM starts giving questionable orders, she does everything she can to do her duty to her squad and the people of Tengu city. She also shows worry and confusion when suddenly not ordered to deploy in Volume 10.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: PlayedForLaughs; when she snaps in episode 6, she orders her squad around like a raving lunatic and her eyes glow red.
* WingdingEyes: Her pupils turn into hearts when her subordinate tells her the AST team has organized a replacement trip to Tenguu Paradise Hot Springs, enough she tells said subordinate she's earned a higher position... only it's the kind she'd need to be KIA for.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mikie Okamine]]
!! Private Mikie Okamine
!!! '''Voiced by:''' Kanami Satou (Japanese), Creator/SarahWiedenheft (English), Fernanda Robles (Latin-American Spanish)
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/okamine_mikie.png]]
->''"I don't care if I'm the weaker Wizard from AST or if I am called trash or weak. Since I have the necessary strength to save and help my friends, I will be happy."''

A girl [[NewMeat new to the AST]] who idolises Origami. She holds the rank of Private in the AST. She's also in Shido's school and in the second year, but having skipped one grade is one year younger than her peers. She's Tamae's cousin. She's the main heroine of the spinoff manga ''Date AST Like''.
----
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler: Her dad kicked her out of her own house and she became suicidal. This led her to [[DeathSeeker ignoring a spacequake alarm]] where she encountered a then untamed Tohka. If it wasn't for Origami, she would be dead.]] After this, it's easy to see why she had a nightmare about Tohka being a mass murderer.
* FantasticRacism: Spirits are all evil monsters in her eyes. The first few scenes of ''Date A Strike'' has her visioning [[DumbMuscle Tohka]] as a ruthless killer killing thousands. This is how [[EvilCannotComprehendGood she views all spirits.]]
* GirlishPigtails: She's a naive and clumsy girl with her hair usually fashioned in pigtails.
* NewMeat: One of the most recent arrivals in the AST.
* ThoseTwoGirls: She's rarely seen without Mildred.
* UnwittingMuggleFriend: She becomes friends with Tohka later on, although she has no idea she is the same spirit that defined her view of them, or that she's even a spirit at all. [[spoiler:In Volume 13, she asks Origami to rejoin the AST... unaware that she's also a Spirit now, or rather had been for a while depending on when Phantom made her one in the new timeline.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mildred F. Fujimura]]

A mechanic in the AST (transferred from DEM) who holds the rank of Sergeant First Class. She's often seen with Mikie.
----
* ButNotTooForeign: If her first name is of any indication.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: She often has weird delusions about other people for her own imagination.
* InSeriesNickname: She has the nickname "Mily".
* SatelliteCharacter: Unlike Mikie, she doesn't get much characterization or attention. Not even anything about her former work while part of the DEM.
* TankTopTomboy: She's a [[WrenchWench female mechanic]] wearing a black tank top.
* ThoseTwoGirls: Rarely seen without Mikie.
* WrenchWench: She's an attractive girl who works as a mechanic.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mana Takamiya]]
-> DEM's Adeptus Number 2 who briefly transfers into AST before defecting to Ratatoskr. See her folder in the [[Characters/DateALiveRatatoskr Ratatoskr]] page.
[[/folder]]

!!Special Sorcery Service
Britain's equivalent to the AST, also known as SSS. While they are only occasionally mentioned in the main story, they are given more focus in the spin-off manga ''Date a Strike''.

[[folder:In General]]
* AntiVillain: [[spoiler:The trio featured in ''Date a Strike'' just want to save Artemisia after [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe she helped them all]]. Minerva later becomes a more direct villain.]]

----
* FaceOfAThug: She has a mean look and a somewhat androgynous appearance, yet quickly breaks down crying when threatened for info, much to the shock of the AST members interrogating her.
[[/folder]]

[[/folder]]

* HandicappedBadass: Normally, she's blind and bound to a wheelchair, but she's a very competent fighter once she's in her CR-Unit.
* TheLeader: The SSS trio featured in ''[[Manga/DateASTLike Date AST Like]]'' generally take orders from her.
* ReflectionlessUselessEyes: Her eyes don't sparkle like the other characters because she is blind.

* FieryRedhead: Haruko is the source of Kotori's red hair and temperament.

* StrongFamilyResemblance: Haruko's younger self looked near identical to her daughter Kotori.
* WhenYouComingHomeDad: Their job, which is actually engineering at Asgard Electronics, has them living in the United States, while their teenage children mostly live alone.

Shido's previous incarnation, Mio's lover, and Mana's real brother.
----
* CrazyJealousGuy: He flies into a rage when his reincarnation Shido boasts that he can steal Mio's affection, but then admits that since he's dead outside of Ain Soph, he can't do much more than entrust Shido with his lover.
* DeathByOriginStory: He died in Shido's origin story. Mio hoped she could make Shido become Shinji, but even after Shido obtains Shinji's memories, but his personality and attitude don't change as Mio wanted.
* DeathOfPersonality: Shinji really died 30 years ago. Even with Shinji's memories, Shido's identity and personality are unaffected and he is unable to return Mio's affections.
* InTheBack: Westcott shoots him in this manner while fleeing with Mio.
* TheLostLenore: To Mio. Shinji was her one and only love. His tragic death is the impetus for much of Mio's actions, including reincarnating him as Shido.
* MayflyDecemberRomance: He was a human teenager who became the lover of an immortal godlike Spirit. His tragic death motivated her to try and recreate him as her immortal lover.

* PlotTriggeringDeath: His death directly lead to his rebirth as Shido and Mio's quest to create the Spirits.
