!!Tom Majors (Screen name: [=MajorTom=])

!!!Voiced by: Creator/JasonGriffith

The main protagonist. He is subsequently shocked and overwhelmed by his first transport to Chaotic. Tom is a bold risk taker and will help anyone who asks, even the Creatures of Perim. Tom is honest, trustworthy and cares deeply for his friends.

* AudienceSurrogate: For most of season 1, he serves as this. Understandable, as among the main human cast, Tom used to be a newbie in Chaotic.
* BadassNormal: He's a pretty athletic teenager, with bravery and wits apparent as well. As for specific examples:
** His ability to use a scanner has helped him reach creatures to warn them of danger, such as "Eye of the Maelstrom".
** His tenacity allowed him to trick both Chaor and Von Bloot into taking the wrong Colstone from him, giving him the time needed to get the real one (containing all of Maxxor's captured strength) to Maxxor.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: While he is often very friendly, and rarely resorts to trash talk in the Battledrome, when Tom really gets pushed too far, he can be absolutely livid. Case in point, when Krystella and Klay, during a battle over the phobia mask, nearly tricked him and Kaz into destroying each other, resulting in Tom, using Maxxor, pinning Kaz, as Chaor, under a tree branch and badly injuring him, the second Tom saw Klay, making a reach for the phobia mask, Tom lets out a livid scream of rage while hitting Klay with iron balls, before following it up with a vicious mega roar that sends Klay over the horizon.
* CharacterDevelopment: Tom starts off pretty biased towards non-Overworlders, but he learns to have a fair mindset over time, recognizing the good and bad between each tribe.
* FakeDefector: In "Fighting Friendly" when he ends his friendship with Kaz. [[spoiler: However, it's revealed to be an act in "A Rare Hazard", meant to catch some rogue Chaotic players causing havoc in the Overworld.]]
* FreudianSlip: He gives off a slightly sexist comment at one point in "Battledrome of the Sexes". That said, Tom learns his lesson soon enough, to the extent of using a female creature in his Codemaster match against Codemaster Crellan.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: He'll help any creature or player in need despite the risks to himself. And case in point, despite primarily being an Overworld player, he will help out other creatures as well such as Underworlders.
* GracefulLoser: He's usually pretty chill about losing Chaotic matches, at least compared to the other protagonists.
* GuileHero: Not at first, but he's learned to outsmart creatures and fellow Chaotic players using cunning and trickery when brute force simply won't cut it.
* HeroicWillpower: When in the Battledrome, he has managed to tap into the memories of his scanned creatures, learn to fight off the effects of the Phobia Mask, and overcome mind tricks that his adversaries play on him.
* InnocentBlueEyes: He has blue eyes, showing his naïve side.
* InstantExpert: Downplayed, but Tom's a quick learner when it comes to Chaotic, using non-Overworld creatures, mugic, and locations fairly well. In fact, within a few days under Kaz's teachings, his skills as an Underworld player skyrocketed to the top.
* NiceGuy: Tom's heroic, friendly, and cheerful. Both his school classmates and fellow Chaotic players treat him with reasonable respect for this.
* OddFriendship: Downplayed. Tom is a pretty outgoing kid that supports the Overworlders, whereas Kaz is quite unpopular at school and supports the Underworlders. Despite this, [[CoolKidAndLoserFriendship the two openly see each other as their best friend]].
* OutOfCharacterMoment: He acts like a major {{jerkass}} in the third act of "Fighting Friendly" when he cheats in his match with Kaz. [[spoiler: This turns out to be a ruse.]]
* TookALevelInBadass: Tom was already a pretty good Chaotic Player since the beginning, but he definitely had room for improvement. With each season, he becomes more and more capable, defeating two Code Masters. In fact, Tom actually suffers no onscreen defeats in Season 3.
%%* TrueCompanions: With Kaz, Sarah and Peyton.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: He ends his friendship with Kaz in "Fighting Friendly" after he is accused of cheating. [[spoiler:This is actually an act as part of the Codemasters' sting operation.]]
* TheWorfEffect: Tom's Maxxor scan is constantly held in regard as being his strongest Creature, so naturally, when his opponents start posing a threat they usually demonstrate it by defeating Maxxor. Best shown against [=CodeMaster=] Hotekk, where Tom [[MidSeasonUpgrade breaks out a scan of Maxxor in the Xerium Armor that helped him defeat Aa'une]]... and proceeds to lose him in the very first battle.
* YoureNothingWithoutYourPhlebotinum: Self-inflicted early in season 1 after he loses his Maxxor scan in a bet, falling into a slump and going on a losing streak because he believes he can't win without Maxxor. It takes intervention from [=CodeMaster=] Crellan to partly snap him out of this mindset, with it fully remedied only after gaining another Maxxor scan.
** Completely subverted by season 3 though, allowing Tom to defeat Codemaster Hottek largely without Maxxor's presence.

!!Kaz Kalinkas (Screen name: [=KidChaor=])

!!!Voiced by: Creator/DarrenDunstan

Mainly an Underworld player, he tends to be more cautious and less adventurous, unless rare scans are involved. Kaz's favorite creature and trademark card is Chaor.

* AlliterativeName: Two "K" names - three, if you count his username (which qualifies in and of itself by virtue of mashing two words that start with the same sound together).
* AnimeHair: Has the wildest hair out of the main cast, sporting red hair that constantly sticks up.
* AscendedFanboy: Loves to talk about how cool going to Chaotic is, perhaps too much.
%%* BashBrothers: With Tom.
%%* ButtMonkey
* CannotKeepASecret: He talks loudly about how Chaotic is real on Earth, which makes him widely known as a weirdo, and is at least partly responsible for everybody finding out about Dranakis Threshold by refusing to not play too many ancient cards at once.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite his unpopular status at school and wimpy attitude, it's clear that Kaz is one of the best Underworld players in Chaotic. His coaching towards Tom also speak for itself.
* DeadpanSnarker: When he's not running and screaming in terror from a creature.
* FieryRedhead: He's got spiky red hair and is very passionate about Chaotic, tends to be a bit on the emotional side, and can have a bit of a temper when he goes into SeriousBusiness mode.
* {{Geek}}: A shining example when it comes to Chaotic. Unfortunately, it leads to him coming off as just a bit nutty in real life, to the point that even Tom dismissed his claims about Chaotic being real.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Kaz can have this issue at times.
** When facing the consequences for openly talking about Chaotic at school, he suggested that Tom help by siding with him against the school counciler. Not only could this lead to Tom losing his Chaotic scanner as well, but it may have very well led to him also being seen as a "nutcase" by their classmates, the latter of which Tom points out.
** His obsession to win grudge matches cost him big in season 3, thus using scans of past creatures non-stop.
* RightForTheWrongReasons: While the issue stems from his inability to keep quiet about Chaotic or admit any fault, Kaz is actually right to be upset at the school counciler for trying to confiscate all his Chaotic possessions. It's obvious that Kaz's main problem is not understanding about "time and place", rather than just obsessing about Chaotic. Thus, the counciler should have known that simply taking away Kaz's stuff wouldn't solve things in the long-term.
%%* TheLancer / TheSmartGuy
* LooseLips: One of Kaz's defining flaws is his chronic inability to keep quiet about Chaotic... or really, much of anything. His friends have to tell him to ''not'' go around blabbing about the hidden function of Dranakis Threshold, for instance, and to his credit he doesn't... even if he had to struggle to do it. Unfortunately, he then proceeds to battle several people he has a grudge against utilizing the scans of past creatures that the group agreed to keep secret.
** It's even worse when factoring Kaz's words to Tom in ''Welcome to Chaotic Part 2'' about "keeping Chaotic a secret". Talk about hypocrisy.
** That said, Kaz does subvert this at times, considering how he kept his promise to not reveal Iparu's existence.
* NerdGlasses: They're tinted red, skirting the line between this and CoolShades.
* NeverMyFault: Kaz sometimes has this issue, such as when outright refusing to admit fault for the Dranakis Threshold incident. In fact, it's pretty much what caused the school counciler to nearly confiscate his Chaotic stuff at one point.
* RedheadsAreUncool: It's made clear in a few episodes that Kaz is regularly mocked by most of his classmates for openly blabbing about Chaotic at school, with adults (including Kaz's mom herself) also seeing him as "delusional".
** Zigzagged at Chaotic, where a good deal of players see him as a great Underworld player. In fact, if Kaz were to tone down his occasional unsportsman-like attitude, he'd probably be even more respected.

!!Sarah Laurence (Screen name: [=ChaoticKween=])

!!!Voiced by: Rebecca Soler

Mainly a Danian player, Sarah ALWAYS speaks her mind. A fearless and shrewd Chaotic player. Tom, Kaz and Peyton usually have to drag her out of danger.

* ActionGirl: While we don't see her in the dromes very much, she's a competent survivalist in Perim, as shown by her poking around in Mount Pillar, home to a Tribe that's intensely xenophobic to humans as a whole.
* AmbidextrousSprite: Has two strands of hair on the sides of her face that vary in length depending on which way her head is angled.
* DumbBlonde: Averted, as she's actually quite smart.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Snappy, somewhat impatient, and brutally honest, but she's a good person at heart.
* OneOfTheBoys: To the degree that the guys mostly don't even see her as a girl. Just their friend.
* OutOfFocus: Sarah gets far less spotlight than the rest of the main cast, to the point where she's only seen battling on-screen about three times, and two of those had the others in the drome with her.
* SarcasticDevotee: Even when she's trying to be supportive, she throws insults.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Only girl among the four.
* TookALevelInKindness: Not that she was ever truly cruel, but the harsher aspects of her personality aren't as prominent after Season 1.
* UngratefulBitch: At times. In the episode "Trading Cards" she puts the guys through a long and complex series of trades, scan quests, and battles so they can all obtain the necessary scans required to make various trades so she can get a scan of the Song of Mandiblor mugic. At the end of the episode, when the guys have acquired everything they need to make the trades, Sarah shows up and says [[ShaggyDogStory she doesn't need them anymore]] since Wamma caught the thief that stole the mugic and she ported to Perim and scanned it there, without even thanking the guys for their efforts. The three are left bitter at being used by her and their efforts being rendered AllForNothing and all agree they hope Sarah loses her next match.

!!Peyton Touhey (Screen name: [=PeytonicMaster=])

!!!Voiced by: Creator/MarcThompson

Mainly a Mipedian Player, he's a charismatic and eccentric Chaotic player. His unorthodox style of battle and the way he expresses himself tend to be comedic in nature. He often tests unusual theories and strategies in battle, which, shockingly, work more often than not. While most Players think that one tribe is best, Peyton knows how to "look past the personalities and find the powers", though he prefers to use his Mipedians.

* {{Acrofatic}}: Despite being twice the girth of his compatriots, he can still keep up with them, along with a lot of creatures in Perim.
%%* TheBigGuy
* BigEater: Often gorges himself on burgers, pizza, hotdogs, just about everything.
* BigFun: Peyton's got a heart as big as his waistline, and is always cheerful and friendly.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Kaz at least comes off as crazy only in the real world due to his talk about Chaotic. Peyton is weird pretty much everywhere.
* ConfusionFu: Sarah introduces him as a player who specializes in pulling unexpected tricks and [[XanatosSpeedChess adapting on the fly]], making him an unpredictable opponent, and while he nominally specializes in Mipedians he'll also splash in Creatures of other Tribes. In his first on-screen match, he ''picks his cards with his eyes closed'' and still runs circles around Tom and his Maxxor.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Like Kaz, Peyton isn't usually the most lucid person in the room, but he's still more than capable as a Chaotic Player. Overlaps with DitzyGenius.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: A major flaw Peyton has, which has cost him a couple of times in matches.
* DorkKnight: Peyton isn't exactly socially adept, but he's an incredibly nice guy and a cunning Chaotic player.
* EarlyBirdCameo: He can be seen in the first episode walking around and later laughing at Tom making a fool of himself in the dromes.
* EndearinglyDorky: If anything, his ditziness and eccentricities only add to his charm, simply because he's so enthusiastic. Tellingly, he seems to be quite popular in Chaotic and makes friends easily, and he is shown to have a good number of Mipedian friends, and also some Creatures from other Tribes.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Peyton can be this way at times. It's a big reason why he and Kaz have slight rivalry issues.
* JerkassBall: He grabs it while temporarily being an old man.
* LargeHam: Quite possibly the hammiest ([[BigFun and largest]]) human character in the show.
* TheLoad: Largely averted. However, some episodes portray him as this, with Peyton getting captured (again) by the Danians in ''Buggin' Out''.
* NiceGuy: Aside from when he's dealing with Krystella and Klay (who generally have it coming), Peyton usually doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Even when Tom explodes on him after their first match for [[ArrogantKungFuGuy seemingly bragging about his skills]], Peyton doesn't take it personally and explains that he was just telling Tom a few of his tricks in the drome, capping it off by telling Tom that "as a player, you rock!"
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Comes off in terms of looks, speech and demeanor as a teenage Creator/JackBlack down to similar verbal ticks.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: He may be goofy and silly, but Peyton's still a very skilled player who always seems to know more than he lets on, not just in battle, but outside of it too (such as how he's the one to figure out that the monster menacing Prexxor Chasm is actually a living disease and thus the solution is that the location itself must be "cured" through the efforts of a Caretaker). How much of it is an intentional front and how much is [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Peyton being Peyton]] is ambiguous, though.
* SurferDude: He's never actually seen surfing (the closest we get is him on a skateboard), but he's certainly got the speech patterns, tone, and mellow demeanor down.
* TookALevelInDumbass: Slightly by the latter half of season 2, where he acts more silly in attitude.
* TopHeavyGuy: Peyton has about twice as much torso as he does legs, though that never seems to slow him down.

!!Klay (Screen name: Klayotic)

!!!Voiced by: Gary Mack

Klay functions as one of the main antagonists of the series. He met Krystella shortly after the series began, and they've almost always been seen together since. The duo's favorite activity, besides battling in Chaotic, is sabotaging other players. Klay is snobbish, and rude. He favors [=UnderWorld=] Creatures, and is seen to prefer using Barath Beyond and, later on, Lord Van Bloot.

* BeardOfEvil: The only Chaotic player that sports facial hair, namely a small goatee that adds to his shady image.
* BigBad: Along with Krystella, Klay is the closest the show has come to being the main villain.
* CheatersNeverProsper: He cheats in his first match against Tom in two ways: by getting Tom's strategy off Krystella, and by filling his Location deck with ''ten copies of Lava Pond'' (which would be highly illegal in the actual game, which only allows two copies of each card) so that his Magmon can Flux Bauble to it whenever he wants and then win off HomeFieldAdvantage. Tom naturally short-circuits his strategy by pulling out [[ChekhovsGun the Iron Pillar he scanned earlier]] from his Location deck, disabling Klay's Flux Bauble and easily stomping him. Even outside of battle, his cheating ways tend to backfire, as seen on the NiceJobFixingItVillain entry below.
* ConsummateLiar: He can easily spout very convincing lines, and as a line from Tom indicates, he often scams new players out of their cards under the pretext of helping them.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: If he wants somebody's help, he will usually stab them in the back the second they are no longer needed.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Possibly fake, but doesn't like it when Krystella keeps secrets from him and doesn't like it when seeing family argue, as he was visibly trying his best to stop her and Jycella from their bickering, saying that they should be taking out their anger in the dromes. Though it turns out he sabotaged Jycella's deck, he was indeed shocked that Krystella was keeping secrets from him and was troubled about their feud, which says more about him than he was in any other episode.
* {{Greed}}: A major reason behind everything he does. Despite Klay already having a large deck, he consistently scams new players for their deck merely to add them to his collection.
* InformedAbility: He's said to be a great Chaotic player, but we never actually ''see'' him win any matches.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Klay seems to live under the assumption that all of Chaotic revolves around him.
* {{Jerkass}}: Selfish, condescending, conceited, and just generally unpleasant to be around.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: Possibly, at least to an extent. During most of season 1, Klay tried to directly antagonize Tom and Kaz on several occasions. This has become more indirect by season 2 though, probably because he lost to them in every Chaotic match.
* LargeHam: His laugh is very over the top, and sounds ridiculous.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Along with Krystella, he attempts to sabotage Tom's match against Code Master Crellan by tricking him into using the Modulation Mugic. While using it does cost Tom one battle during the match, Tom later uses it to defeat Crellan's Cromax and win the match. Tom even lampshades it.
* PersonalityPowers: He's self-absorbed, arrogant, and a thorough jerk, just like his ace creature Lord Van Bloot.
* PetTheDog: Slimeballs they are, but Klay and Krystella actually attend Tangath Toborn's funeral alongside several other Chaotic Players.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Thinks '''very''' highly of himself, but on screen he loses every match he takes part in.
* SmugSmiler: Both he and Krystella are good at this, but he's the champ.
* TheSociopath: He has an inflated sense of self worth, sees other people merely as tools to be used for his own gain, any niceness he puts on is a mere façade and he backstabs people when he no longer needs them. He will happily cite Chaotic rules, and will happily break them if needed, and will happily try to arrange for rivals to die. And the episode ''Worlds Apart'' displays that not even his only friend, Krystella, is safe from his manipulations, as she ends up on the receiving end of one of his schemes and gets humiliated in the process, with him also demanding she fork over half of the reward she thought she won fair and square once she receives it. Klay more than fits this trope to a T.
* VillainDecay: Is introduced as a skilled opponent, and Kaz only barely wins against him in Klay's first on screen match despite Klay not pulling any dirty tricks. But in each of Klay's subsequent appearances, he can't win a single match even with his underhanded tricks. We see him losing against both Tom and Kaz (including in a 2-on-2 battle with them against Klay and Krystella), Peyton, a newbie on her first match, a little kid, being one of the many victims of Drew's Hoton; and though he won seven matches offscreen and got to battle Codemaster Imthor, the Codemaster proceeded to [[CurbStompBattle demolish Klay]], who is unable to beat even a single one of the Codemaster's creatures, which even Krystella rubs in his face.
* VillainRespect: Very downplayed, but it seems even he acknowledges Tom's skills as a Chaotic player by the end of season 1.
* TheWorfEffect: Klay is [[InformedAbility said to be]] a good player and his Barath Beyond is treated as a powerful Creature (and it was back in the first couple of sets). They both tend to get beaten down by one-shot characters to show off how powerful those characters and their scans are.

!Krystella

Krystella is a crafty prankster who functions as one of the main antagonists. Krystella is conceited and patronizing. Krystella is seen to prefer Underworlders.

* CreepyTwins: Played somewhat straight with Krystella; she has a twin sister, but only Krystella herself is creepy.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: She has dark hair and, in the first season, has noticeably lighter skin than most human characters, giving her an off-putting appearance.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: In the episode where we meet Krystella's twin sister, Jycella, Klay sets up a match between them, in which the loser has to go to Perim to obtain the winner's choice of scans, and he lends them the scans they use in the battle. After Krystella's victory, Klay reveals to her that she only won because he gave Jycella a scan of a Battlegear that had been sabotaged before being scanned, and that he fully expects Krystella to give him half the scans she ordered Jycella to get for her. Krystella's reaction is to join her sister in the scan quest, because much as she hates her, Krystella wants to beat her with her own skills, and as an added bonus, she tells Jycella they'll get good scans for themselves and then sabotage the ones she'll give to Klay as payback.
* FairPlayVillain: Very downplayed - while she's not above spying and dealing in information, her behavior in "Worlds Apart" implies that if Krystella goes into the Drome personally, she prefers to win in a fair fight rather than by cheating (if only to establish her superiority properly), though she doesn't get enough on-screen matches to establish whether she actually means it.
* {{Greed}}: Much like Klay, Krystella is driven primarily by a desire for rare cards.
* HartmanHips: A trait she shares with her sister.
* HiddenWire: Krystella's specialty is her knack for listening in on people's conversations with small microphones she's very good at stealthily hiding in their vicinity, allowing her to eavesdrop on strategy plans.
* {{Jerkass}}: She's right up there with Klay in terms of being selfish and unlikeable.
%%* LittleMissSnarker
%%* PolarOppositeTwins: Krystella and Jysella.
* {{Sadist}}: A major source of joy for Krystella is inflicting pain on opposing players.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Like Klay, Krystella constantly insults Tom and his friends, despite never once defeating any of them in a match. That said, by the end of season 1, even they seem to slightly acknowledge Tom's prowess as a Chaotic Player.
* SmugSmiler: Much like Klay, Krystella's smile is all arrogance and no warmth.
* TallDarkAndSnarky: She's tall, pale with dark hair, and condescending to everyone she interacts with.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:[=CodeMasters=]]]
The seven [=CodeMasters=] are the leading authority of Chaotic, and each [=CodeMaster=] oversees and shares their name with one of its seven Battledromes: Crellan, Hotekk, Amzen, Oron, Tirasis, Imthor, and Chirrul. Winning seven official matches in a Battledrome earns a player the privilege of challenging the Drome's [=CodeMaster=].

!!As a Group
* AdultsAreUseless: Downplayed. However, they aren't always so reliable as authority figures. In fact, aside from letting creeps like Klay and Krystella continue to hang around in Chaotic, their method of dealing with the M'arrillian invasion had noticeable faults.
* TheFaceless: All [=CodeMasters=] wear face-concealing helmets as part of their outfit. However, Crellan first meets Tom in casual dress that reveals his face (assuming that's what he actually looks like).
* FunWithAcronyms: Their names spell out the initialism "CHAOTIC".
* TheGhost: Amzen, Oron, Tirasis, and Chirrul are mentioned throughout the series, but are never shown onscreen.
* RuleOfSeven: [[ArcNumber Continuing the series' obsession with the number seven]], there are seven [=CodeMasters=] and to challenge one you must win seven matches in their Drome.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Amzen is the only [=CodeMaster=] to be referred to by female pronouns, while the three shown on-screen are male (Oron, Tirasis, and Chirrul's genders are unknown due to them not being mentioned).
* SNKBoss: They use powerful Creatures and Battlegear and treacherous locations, all from places only they know about, making them much tougher and harder to strategize against than normal players. If the comments of Peyton, Kaz and Sarah are any indication, losing to them is downright common because of this.

!![=CodeMaster=] Crellan
->'''Voiced by:''' Marc Diraison

The [=CodeMaster=] of the Crellan drome and the first introduced, Crellan is soft-spoken and level-headed. His demeanor is contrasted by his preferred Creatures in battle, as he plays a tribeless deck composed of the savage residents of Prexxor Chasm.
----
* IAmNotLeftHanded: During his official march against Tom, Crellan doesn’t even put up a fight with his assumed ace, Ursis, outright sacrificing him to put his real ace, Cromaxx, in the middle of Tom’s team.
* KingIncognito: He first encounters Tom under the guise of an ordinary player in Rock River Canyon that needs his help, before offering to show him a few pointers in the Drome. It isn't until well into the match that he reveals his identity.
* NiceGuy: Crellan is polite, humble, and patient, and given how he and Tom met, it's entirely likely he reviewed Tom's performance in his Drome and went out of his way to counsel and mentor him so he can get out of his losing streak.
* OneManArmy: In his first match against Tom, he plays only a single Ursis against Tom's full team of 6 and wipes the floor with them using a combination of Ursis's raw strength and his [[ArmorOfInvincibility Droskin Battlegear]]. Though to his credit, Tom manages to [[CurbStompCushion break through it and put Crellan in a corner in the last battle before going down]].
* ResurrectiveImmortality: His second match with Tom has him reviving Cromaxx over and over each time he's destroyed, sometimes throwing fights deliberately to put Cromaxx in more advantageous positions. [[PuzzleBoss Finding out how he's doing so and shutting it down thus forms the key to beating him.]]

!![=CodeMaster=] Imthor
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/DanGreen

The [=CodeMaster=] of the Imthor drome.
----
* ConsummateProfessional: What screentime Imthor has portrays him as a straight-laced and impersonal but not unreasonable person that takes his job seriously.
* LastEpisodeNewCharacter: He makes his proper debut in the Season 1 finale, where he temporarily suspends Tom from any matches after he is caught cheating. [[spoiler:It turns out to be a ruse as part of a plan Tom and Kaz set up with the [=CodeMasters=] to stop a group of rogue players from destroying locations in Perim and then selling the scans of said locations on the black market.]]

!![=CodeMaster Hotekk=]
->'''Voiced by:''' Scottie Ray

The haughty [=CodeMaster=] of the Hotekk Drome. He plays a deck composed of Creatures from multiple tribes, all of whom hail from Perim's distant past.
----
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Unlike the other [=CodeMasters=] shown, Hotekk comes off as an arrogant power-gamer with the cards to back it up.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: While Crellan greeted Tom cordially when officially challenging him and gave Tom 72 hours to prepare for their match, Hotekk gave him only 24 hours and gave him a much more blunt message telling him to prepare to lose, and when their match starts, Hotekk doesn't bother with a greeting and tells him to get on with the match. All this serves to establish his brusque, arrogant, and impatient personality.
* LethalJokeCharacter: His final Creature Og has stats so bad that the main crew ridicule it and it dies with one hit, but instead of ending the match, defeating Og ''resurrects Hotekk's entire team'' for Tom to fight. [[ZergRush At the same time.]]

->'''Voiced by''': Creator/SeanSchemmel

The ruler of the Overworld tribe, known in the card game as an Overworld Hero. He is known for his courage. He is the archenemy of Chaor. He is friends with Tom due to the particular way in which the human idolizes him, going so far as to trust him with some missions. \

In the game, Maxxor is an Overworld creature with Fire and Earth and 2 Mugic ability that can spend 1 Mugic counter to heal an ally by 10. His second form, Maxxor, Protector of Perim, retains Fire and Earth, has 0 Mugic ability, and gains a stacking damage bonus to his own attacks whenever he takes attack damage.
----
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: His appearance is overall human-like save for his green skin.
* AnimeHair: In the same vein as [[Franchise/DragonBall Vegeta]], his hair always stands on end without any sort of visible support.
* BigDamnHeroes:
** Often referred too as the "hero of the Overworld", Maxxor would often appear at just the right moment to save someone. Specific examples include:
** Saving Tom from [[spoiler: Chaor]] in "Maze of Menace" after [[spoiler: his strength is restored due to breaking the Callstone]].
** Rescuing Chaor from Aa’une in "Legions of Aa'une", with help from [[spoiler: Iparu]].
* BigGood: How many in the Overworld view him.
* BlingOfWar: He puts on a golden suit of Xerium Armor when confronting Aa'une and Vitog.
* CharacterDevelopment: Maxxor was very distrustful towards Tom and his friends at first, but he grows to trust them over time. Likewise, after the M'arrillian invasion, Maxxor became significantly more tolerant towards non-Overworlders.
* FamousAncestor: More like ''in''famous ancestor. Tom was extremely disappointed to find out that Vlar, Maxxor's ancient ancestor was a reviled thief, whom Vlaric Shards are named after. [[spoiler: Ultimately subverted after Vlar has a change of heart, with Tom and the others coming to view him as a heroic Overworlder.]]
* FrontlineGeneral: His card text literally explains him as this.
* HairTriggerTemper: Arguably his biggest flaw. Maxxor tends to get angry and distrustful too easily, thus acting like a huge jerk towards Tom and Kaz in their first encounter. That said, he tones it down somewhat over time.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Tom after he TookALevelInKindness.
* InformedAttribute: Downplayed, but despite having a pretty high wisdom stat, Maxxor is usually overshadowed by the likes of Tangath Toborn and Raznus in terms of being a ReasonableAuthorityFigure.
* {{Irony}}: He and Chaor actually share a lot of similarities. Both serve as the leaders of their respective tribes and are widely considered the strongest creatures in Perim. Both have issues with their temper, hence preferring to tackle problems head on. Finally, both initially distrusted humans but eventually came to befriend the protagonists.
* NotSoAboveItAll: When he noticed the other tribe representatives getting worked up during the Perithon, he shrugged, and joined in the cheering.
* PapaWolf: Don't mess with ''anyone'' he cares about, or you may not live to regret it.
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: The Overworld leader and one of his tribe's mightiest warriors.
* RedIsHeroic: He is one of the greatest heroes of the [=OverWorld=], and in particular is one of the {{Big Good}}s in the M'arrillian invasion, and usually dresses in red. While he's definitely not without his flaws, Maxxor's overall a rather noble character.
* SadisticChoice: During the series finale Maxxor was forced into choosing to destroy Tangath's sword, or allow the invincible Vitog to run wild in Perim and destroy everything in his path. [[spoiler: In the end Maxxor caves in and destroys the sword. Tangath is able to defeat Vitog, but must return to the Spirit Lands.]]
* TookALevelInKindness: Maxxor initially had quite a fierce temper and was outright antagonistic towards humans, believing that they saw Perim as merely part of a game. Eventually though, Tom's actions convince him otherwise. Since then, while not above calling out the protagonists if they do something foolish or reckless, he evidently sees them as friends.

!!Najarin
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/najarin_3.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/MarcThompson

A wise Muge, he is hinted to be more than 1000 years old. He is one of the wisest creatures in the Overworld tribe, he is a kind of creature and doesn't like chaotic players to scan him unless they'd earned his trust. \
\
In the game, Najarin has four versions with different abilities:
* His basic version has a Mugic ability of 2, no elemental types, and can spend 2 Mugic counters to return a Mugic card from your discard pile to your hand.
* Najarin, Fluidmorphers' Foe has a Mugic ability of 3, no elemental types, and gains a Mugic counter each time an opposing Creature not named Najarin does. He can spend 1 counter to give a Creature 5 Energy, or 2 to negate a M'arrillian Mugic.
* Najarin, High Muge of the Lake has a Mugic ability of 2, the Water element, and spends 1 less Mugic counter to play Mugic cards (but cannot reduce the cost of a Mugic below 1).
* Najarin, Younger is a Past Creature with a Mugic ability of 2, no elemental types, and can spend 1 Mugic counter to return a Mugic card from your discard pile to your hand and then discard a Mugic card.
----
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: He's one of the most human-looking creatures in Perim, albeit with blue skin.
* TheArchmage: Renowned as one of the greatest Muges in Perim.
* BrokenPedestal: Subverted. The card text for Kiru village implies that [[spoiler:Kiru ultimately became a foe for Najarin and the other Overworlders. However, it also makes it explicit that Najarin is proud to have been Kiru's friend, to the point of explicitly stating him as "one of the greatest Overworlders of all time"]]
* CoolOldGuy: Not only is this elderly Muge incredibly strong in battle, he's also quite tolerant of Chaotic players, initially showing up to wipe the floor with Nautilax and save Tom and Mezzmarr.
* CynicalMentor: To Tom, though he's just a little snarkish really.
%%* TheMentor
* MyGreatestFailure: [[spoiler:Even after several centuries, if not millenia passed, Najarin is still haunted by what happened to his son Afjak. The card text for Afjak outright confirms this as Najarin's greatest sadness.]]
* NeverMyFault: Najarin initially blamed Tom's group when [[spoiler:Afjak disappeared into Dranikis Threshold's time portal. Subverted by modern times though, having come to realize that his stern attitude as a father was what caused Afjak to act so recklessly.]]
* PsychicPowers: Magic based.
* Really700YearsOld: Looks about in his 80s right? Try 1000's.
* SoProudOfYou: [[spoiler:As Afjak's card text explains, Najarin views him as his proudest success, above even his accomplishments as a Muge. [[NiceJobBreakingItHero Too bad Najarin failed to convey this to Afjak when he had the chance.]]]]
* TheseAreThingsManWasNotMeantToKnow: The multitude of secrets he knows is the reason he averts all attempts Chaotic players make to scan him, as he tells Tom.
* TookALevelInKindness: He was actually pretty harsh towards Tom at first, outright accusing him when Maxxor's powers were stolen by Van Bloot. This has changed over time, with Najarin not only coming to trust Tom with his creature scan, but referring to him and the gang as his friends.
* WizardBeard: He sports a white beard longer than he is tall, reflecting his abundant arcane knowledge.
* WizardClassic: Pointy hat, long white beard, long cape/cloak, often carries around a staff, old and wise, lives alone in a castle in the middle of a lake... yep, he's a wizard alright.
* YouAreNotReady: Najarin only allows players he deems worthy to scan him; Tom, in their first encounter, wasn't.

!!Tangath Toborn
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tangath_toborn.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/DanGreen

Tangath Toborn is both a cunning Strategist and a mighty Warrior from a place called the Spiritlands who joined the Overworlders.\
\
In the game Tangath has three versions with different abilities:
* His basic version has a Mugic ability of 1, Fire and Earth elemental types and can use 1 Mugic to heal 10 Energy to himself.
* Tangath Toborn, In Training has a Mugic ability of 2, Fire, Earth and Water elemental types and can use 1 Mugic to reset his disciplines to their original stats.
* Tangath Toborn, Overworld General has a Mugic Ability of 0, Fire and Water elemental types and has the ability Defender as well as various abilities on your opponent's turn depending on what non-Overworld Creatures you control.[[note]]Fire 5 if you control an Underworlder, Disarm if you control a Mipedian and Elementproof all Elemental Types 5 if you control a Danian[[/note]]
----
* TheAce: He's one of Perim's best warriors and also a reasonable figure. In fact, Tangath's HeroicSacrifice was so grand that it actually causes all four tribes to honor him as a hero.
* ButNowIMustGo: Without his sword, he cannot remain outside the Spiritlands for long, and has to return and leave the other Overworlders behind.
* CatFolk: He has the appearance of a humanoid lion.
* CoolSword: His personal blade, the Sword of Khy'at. He's one of the few creatures with a trademark weapon, and for good reason, as it's also his SoulJar.
* HeroicSacrifice: ''Twice''. The first time, he has to freeze himself along with the tidal wave unleashed by the M'arillians to prevent Perim being flooded; the second time, Maxxor shatters his sword, unsealing Tangath and allowing him to stop Vitog terrorizing the Overworld, but leaving him LivingOnBorrowedTime.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Not ''nearly'' as hot-headed as Maxxor, Intress, or even Najarin.

!!Intress
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/intress.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/RachaelLillis

Intress is Maxxor's most trusted adviser, his second-in-command.\
\
In the game Intress has two versions with different abilities:
* Her basic version has a Mugic ability of 1, Water elemental type and has a 5 damage boost to Water attacks.
* Intress, Natureforce has a Mugic ability of 2, Water and Earth elemental types and can use 1 Mugic to have every creature you control gain 5 energy for each elemental type you control.
----
* ActionGirl: She's one of the Overworld's best fighters, and one of the more prominent female creatures in the series.
* CatFolk: Has the form of a humanoid [[PantheraAwesome tiger]].
%%* CoolBigSis: To Zalic and Aivenna.
* {{Determinator}}: Forced herself to get up after Van-Bloot attacked Maxxor, despite still being half-under the effects of a Sleep Sting (which is the Perim equivalent of being ''drugged.'')
* FieryRedhead: She's got a real short fuse, especially when it comes to protecting those she cares about.
* MsFanservice: She's quite trim and shapely, and often goes around wearing little more than a short top and a loincloth.
* PetTheDog: While Intress is no stranger to aggressive behavior, that doesn't mean she won't help innocents outside her tribe. Notably, she saved Tom and Kaz in their first meeting.

!!Bodal
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bodal.jpg]]

The Overworld quartermaster, Bodal runs the Kiru City arsenal like clockwork.
----
* ButtMonkey: In the card game, a RunningGag is him calculating the [[ExactTimeToFailure exact time before something bad happens to him]].
* InsufferableGenius: He's seen as this by most Chaotic players due to his smarmy attitude, but he's the head of the [=OverWorld=] arsenal for a reason.
* LethalJokeCharacter: While Bodal is infamously weak in-universe, Tom finds a way to actually use him effectively in the Drome - namely, his knowledge of Kiru City's underground tunnels gives him such a big HomeFieldAdvantage that he can outmaneuver essentially any enemy there.
* MyBrainIsBig: His cranium is easily almost the size of his torso.
* NonActionGuy: By his own admission, to the point of letting Tom scan him for use in a battle just so he'd get wrecked. When Tom actually ''does'' manage to win a fight as Bodal, the guy himself has trouble believing it and dismisses Tom's claim.
* SelfDeprecation: Not even he believes Tom could have actually won a fight using his scan against Tangath Toborn.

!!Chaor
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chaor.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/MarcThompson

The ruler of the Underworld tribe. Chaor is determined to conquer all of Perim, but none moreso than the Overworld. He dreams of conquering Kiru City and defeating his enemy Maxxor, but he only wishes to do so to protect the Underworld. He has an unusual friendship with Kaz. He'll often tell Kaz that friends are a weakness, though he'll still protect the human from danger.

His basic card has a Mugic ability of 3, the Fire element and the ability to sacrifice 3 Mugic Counters to dispel any Overworld Mugic or ability that targets him. Chaor the Fierce has a Mugic ability of 0, the Fire element and Fire 10.
----
* AntiHero: Sort of a cross between Type II and Type III. Chaor does have a nasty temper and a side of jerk to him, and he does dream about conquering the Overworld, but he does show a caring side to him underneath it all, is very reasonable if needed, and clearly cares for his tribe.
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: The reason he rules the Underworld, and not Van Bloot. The FlavorText on Lyssta's card implies that he has ''never'' lost a battle in the Underworld's GladiatorGames.
-->''"Only Chaor has a better win-loss record in the Underworld Colosseum...and Lyssta only has one loss."''
* AFatherToHisMen: While Chaor is usually a Jerkass, [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold he is shown to genuinely care for the Underworld, it's inhabitants, and Kaz and his friends on several occasions]]
* BeastMan: Chaor walks upright like a man and has the same basic shape as a man but he looks like a combination of other traits, for instance lizard like traits not that dissimilar to a Mipedian.
* BigRedDevil: He's big, he's red, he looks like VideoGame/{{Diablo}}, and he rules a place called the ''Underworld''. Chaor fits the image to a T.
* FamousAncestor: Chaor is actually a descendant of ''Kiru'', one of the Overworld's greatest leaders. Exactly how Kiru's descendants came to reside in the Underworld is unknown.
* HeroicWillpower: Chaor seems to have a unique ability to [[ImmuneToMindControl resist and suppress]] any M'arillian MindControl used on him.
* HotBlooded: Half his dialogue consists of him yelling at someone about something that's pissing him off.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: He considers Kaz a friend, though he'll likely bite his own tongue off before admitting it. In fact, when preparing for the invasion of Kiru City, Chaor takes the opportunity to show Kaz his elite soldiers and newest battlegear, kind of like a dad for "bring your kid to work" day.
* JabbaTableManners: Seen in "Lord of Treachary". Chaor and Von Bloot sit at a table, while Von Bloot acts during "negotiations" WickedCultured, Chaor stuffs himself, ...''[[SarcasmMode very charming]]''.
* MagicKnight: Chaor's definitely no pushover in a straight fight, and is fairly handy with Mugic as well. His card is shown to be one of the few Underworlders with a full 3 Mugic counters.
* OddFriendship: Aside from the one he shares with Kaz, Chaor is pretty nice towards H'earring.
* PlayingWithFire: Both in Dromes and in Perim, Chaor's repertoire of attacks is pretty much all fire. Even the Mugic he uses tend to be fiery. His second card also boasts a massive damage increase on fire attacks, which in-universe is the result of him pumping himself up with Mugic to fight Aa'une.
* PetTheDog: Despite the tribal alliance's dissolution after the M'arrillian Invasion, he's retained some newfound respect for the other tribes, even personally attending Tangath Toborn's funeral.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: One of his most positive traits aside from his friendship with Kaz is that he can be very reasonable with his population. Case in point, in the episode where Iron Pillar gets destroyed, when Hearring comes up with a plan to destroy Ulmar's renegade robots, unaware that they are now creatures, he actually praises H'earring for the idea and despite Ulmar's screwups having nearly destroyed Underworld City, along with nearly causing a considerable part of the Underworld to cave in, aside from turning Ulmar temporarily into a lift pusher, Ulmar suffers no serious consequences.
* TookALevelInKindness: He's become noticeably less harsh towards his allies, even making a wisecrack or two.

!!Takinom
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/takinom.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Kayzie Rogers

Takinom is one of the Underworld's best female fighters. She is second only to Chaor in her fierce, fanatic dedication to the protection of the Underworld.\
\
in the game Takinom has two versions with different abilities:
* Her basic version has a Mugic ability of 1, Swift 1 and the ability heal 25 energy to her by sacrificing any other Underworld creature you control.
* Takinom, The Shadowknight also has a Mugic Ability of 1, Fire and Air elementals and the abilities Strike 10, Swift 2 and can sacrifice her Mugic counter to make her next attack count as the first attack in combat.
----
* ActionGirl: The Underworld greatly values power, and Takinom certainly lives up to that creed, enough to become Chaor's right hand woman.
* TheDragon: Along with Agitos, Chaor's most faithful and competent subordinate.
* FakeDefector: Lord Van Bloot tried to buy her loyalty and turn her against Chaor. She faked her defection and pretended to sabotage Chaor, while she and Chaor actually used Van Bloot's own setup against him.
* HotAsHell: Looks like a very attractive demon woman.
* StatuesqueStunner: Is tall, imposing, and beautiful.
* UndyingLoyalty: Completely devoted to Chaor, in stark contrast to [[TheStarscream Lord Van Bloot]].
* WingedHumanoid: Mostly humanoid in appearance, but sports a pair of [[BatOutOfHell bat-like wings]].

!!Ulmar
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ulmar.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/SeanSchemmel

Chaor's right-hand MadScientist, a neurotic genius responsible for some of the most high-tech Battlegear in Perim.
----
* GadgeteerGenius: Specializes in creating Battlegear in his lab.
* GratuitousLaboratoryFlasks: His main scientific fields are engineering and robotics, as evidenced by his creation of the [[ChickenWalker Viledriver]] and [[HumongousMecha Gigantroper]], yet has a lab full of test tubes and flasks for some reason.
* MyBrainIsBig: A genius Battlegear inventor with a large exposed brain.
* ShorterMeansSmarter: A small, hunched over scientist.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: "Unexpected" shows he has a fear of butterflies.

!!H'earring
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hearring.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/MarcThompson

A gremlin-like Underworlder who assists Kaz on scan-quests. His most notable features are his big ears and his taste for gross and disgusting food, like Dractyl's old dead scales.\
\
In the game, H'Earring has two versions with different abilities:
* His basic version has a Mugic ability of 1 and can sacrifice his Mugic Counter to reorder the top 3 locations of either player's location deck.
* H'Earring, Tainted has a Mugic ability of 1 and his basic ability allows you to look at your opponent's hand and force them to discard and draw an attack card of your choice. His M'Arillian ability allows you to remove his mugic counter as well as 1 from every active creature you control to look at the top card of either location deck and make it the new active location.
----
* BadassAdorable: In a gremlin-goblin sorta way; tiny but ''fierce''.
* BarefootCartoonAnimal: Due to the size and shape of his feet, shoes just wouldn't work for him.
* BigEater: He eats a lot of disgusting Perim foods, and it is indicated that this is a known trait.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: While no stranger to getting upset when he gets the short end of the stick, H'earring is typically amenable to a bit of bribery to get back on his good side and forgive and forget. However, when Klay and Krystella nearly got him killed sabotaging a scan quest, H'earring tricked the pair into falling under the hypnotic power of a creature called Opto. Had Kaz and Tom not intervened, H'earring was shown to have no problem leaving the pair to spend their days doing his chores and their night mining for mugic in Opto's [[NoOshaCompliance mine]]. The threat of H'earring causing more problems for them is also used to convince Klay and Krystella to hand over the scans they'd stolen previously after they're rescued.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Spends a good chunk of season 2 brainwashed by Milla'iin, attempting to kill Kaz more than once in the process.
* ButtMonkey: Half of what happens to him is often used for utter comedy. Several episodes have him used either as a distraction, which gets him in all kinds of humiliating injuries, or Kaz leaves before Hearring tells him the whole thing, which usually costs Kaz dearly.
* DeadpanSnarker: H'earring has a dry wit that he often employs when Kaz does something reckless, or if he is subtly mocking someone.
* ExtremeOmnivore: The dude eats Dractyl's "scales".
* GotVolunteered: When Kaz realizes that Ulmar won't let him near the Vile Driver, he has H'earring distract him. Hearring immediately protests, but Kaz says too late and kicks the tray that H'earring is hiding under down the stairs.
* MeaningfulName: Those big ears aren't just for show. H'earring's knack of, well, ''hearing'' about everything that goes on in the [=UnderWorld=] has made him Kaz's inside man.
* NiceGuy: To be expected, since he helps Tom, Kaz, and the others regularly.
* PunctuationShaker: Has an unexplained apostrophe in his name, and is the only one with the trait that isn't a M'arrillian.
* TheSoCalledCoward: Much prefers the safety of his home, and is oftentimes the first to remind Kaz about how dangerous some of his scan quests are. But while he will run away from danger, he does manage to show up again when needed, such as when he saved Kaz and Tom from a cave in caused by Klay, or when he used a Power Pulse attack to save Peyton from Rarran.
* WeakButSkilled: H'earring is not the most powerful of the creatures, but he's clever and has a wide variety of distracting abilities. While he doesn't use it often, it should be noted that all three times someone has been forced to rely on their H'earring scan in a match (Kaz, Tom, and Peyton), H'earring has won the match, and against more traditionally stronger creatures to boot.

!!Lord Van Bloot
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/van_bloot_9.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': David Zen Mansley

Chaor's second-in-command, an Underworlder with plans to overthrow Chaor and become ruler. He makes his home in Gothos Tower.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: It's never revealed if he was as willing a victim of the M'arillian's brainwashing as everyone in the Underworld assumed.
* AristocratsAreEvil: The only creature in Perim with the title "Lord", and he's a self-serving sleazebag.
* BigBadWannabe:
** He is initially setup as the main antagonist of the Decomposition Mugic arc, using the mugic on Maxxor to gain all his stats for himself, while also reducing Maxxor to a coward. However, in the final episode of the arc, once Chaor learns what's going on and becomes involved, he joins the battle in an attempt to gain Maxxor's stats, and defeats Von Bloot in battle again, sending him running before the episode is even done.
** He only ever ''ruled'' the Underworld while [[spoiler: under the MindControl of the M'arrillians]].
* DirtyCoward: While he is a good fighter, the second things go wrong, he immediately pleads for mercy. Even in the card game, Van Bloot fights best against creatures that have low Courage.
* DrivenByEnvy: A major motive why he desires to overthrow Chaor. He is already the second of command in the Underworld, but he feels he alone is the one destined to rule it.
* InvisibilityCloak: He can turn invisible while inside Gothos Tower, giving him a massive HomeFieldAdvantage.
* KarmaHoudini: Despite having made multiple attempts on Chaor's life, and trying to take over the Underworld, Van Bloot never really suffers any punishment for repeated treason. This is justified, in that if Chaor killed or banished him, it could plunge the Underworld into civil war. Chaor's patience finally runs out after the M'arillian invasion, and he is forced to live with the M'arrilians and reduced to a salve for them before making a deal with the new Dania queen.
* KnightOfCerebus: While Van Bloot himself alternates between LaughablyEvil and NotSoHarmlessVillain, any episode where he appears in Perim is much more darker before the second season introduced the M'arillians. Case in point, his use of the Decomposition Mugic on Maxxor was one of the darkest story arcs of the first season, as the stakes were clearly far higher, in that Maxxor could wind up dead, or Chaor or Van Bloot could seize his powers and make the Underworld the dominant power in Perim, which was much more darker than several prior episodes of the series.
* ObviouslyEvil: [[GreenAndMean Sickly green skin]], [[RedEyesTakeWarning glowing red eyes]], [[LeanAndMean skeletal looks]], has a pair of [[GoodWingsEvilWings sinister-looking black wings]], ''everything'' about Van Bloot's appearance just screams "evil".
* TheSociopath: He is utterly lacking in empathy and won't hesitate to resort to any method to win, a considerable manipulator who serves Chaor loyally, but still plans to overthrow him, he treats his own minions like dirt, his desire is to be the leader and the one in charge, all for his own glory, he lacks any emotional affection to anyone, but himself, and he has an enormous sense of pride. This fits Van Bloot to a T.
* TheStarscream: Wants to overthrow Chaor and rule the Underworld himself.
* TokenEvilTeammate: In a show which does not hesitate to highlight the negative flaws of both humans and creatures, and with GreyAndGrayMorality repeatedly invoked, Lord Van Bloot is one of the very few characters to be portrayed as irredeemably evil.

Mudeenu is a Mipedian Royal and Captain of the Guard. His cousin is Crown Prince Iflar.
In game Mudeenu has two versions with different abilities:
* His basic version has a mugic ability of 1, the ability to add 20 damage to the first attack he makes in each combat and the unique restriction.
* Prince Mudeenu, Champion of the Guard has a mugic ability of 0, the Air element, the ability to give mipedians you control “invisibility: surprise”.

----
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's hostile towards outsiders and abrasive at the best of times, but he does care about his people.
* LargeAndInCharge: Very big compared to most slim Mipedians.
%%* RoyalBlood
* PetTheDog: He actually had a bit of a rivalry with Tangath Toborn throughout the series. He put that aside when they joined forces against the M'arrillians. Once Tangath sacrificed himself twice to save Perim though, Mudeenu is shown attending his funeral.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: He's a great warrior on the battlefield, and he is the king's nephew.
* WarHawk: He's shown fighting with the Overworlders on at least two occasions, though the M'arrillian Invasion appears to have improved their relationship to some extent.

!!Tiaane
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tiaane.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/MikePollock

A Mipedian Muge who has studied Mugic with Najarin and is respected throughout the Overworld.

He has a mugic ability of 2 and the ability to sacrifice himself to deal 25 damage to one creature.
----
* BadassCape: Tiaane makes it look gooood.
* BadassPacifist: Drops the pacifist part when he sees somebody in trouble.
%%* BigDamnHero
* HeroicSacrifice: He sacrifices himself to save Tom and Peyton from Slurhk by blasting the Overworlder away. [[NotQuiteDead He turns up alive and well later, though, so it's not permanent.]]
* LiteralMinded: When he tells for Tom to scan him and use him in his Chaotic matches so he can see the world as he does, Peyton supports the idea by telling Tom to "walk a mile in a Mipedian's shoes". Tiaane responds that Mipedians don't wear shoes.
* NiceGuy: Tiaane is among the few creatures in Perim to believe strongly in offering hospitality to those who need it, and harbors no hard feelings against Tom for his [[FantasticRacism initial mistrust of Mipedians in general]]. He even lets Tom scan him with no strings attached, other than to let Tom see things from his perspective.
* SuicideAttack: As Peyton exposits, some Mipedian Muges (such as Tiaane) can sacrifice their own energy to [[ActionBomb unleash a devastating blast]]. Slurhk found out the hard way, as did Tom's opponent in his next drome battle.

!!Blazvatan
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chaotic__blazvatan.jpg]]

A Mipedian Warbeast. Created by ancient Mugic users called ''the Conjurors'', Blazvatan is an extremely powerful creature, but also very unstable, requiring the presence of a modern day conjuror to be kept under control.

He has a mugic ability of 0, Earth and Air elementals, Recklessness 25 and the Unique restriction. He can’t be used in mixed armies.
----
* TheBerserker: Without a conjuror to tamper his recklessness, Blazvatan is a rampaging beast who can't be controlled.
* DeathOrGloryAttack: He’s a very powerful creature, but his recklessness ability means he loses ''25 energy'' every time he attacks. This can be mitigated by pairing him with a conjuror.
* GuardianEntity: As a warbeast, he serves as this to any conjuror who summons him.
* {{Kaiju}}: He's a gigantic creature with tornadoes for limbs and skin that seems to be made out of stone and sand that will attack everything in sight when not kept under control.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: He has four arms that are made out of tornadoes.
* UnstoppableRage: His default estate. When not paired with a Conjuror, he will attack everything and everyone around, including himself, with reckless abandon.

!!Wamma
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wamma.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/DarrenDunstan

A lazy Danian Mandiblor that assists Sarah in navigating the inner workings of Mount Pillar.\
\
In the game Wamma has three versions with different abilities:
* His basic version has a Mugic ability of 0, Fire elemental type and the Hive ability to gain 5 energy for each Mandiblor you control.
* Wamma, Hive Ordinance also has a Mugic Ability of 0 and the Fire elemental type. He gains a Mugic Counter every time a Mandiblor comes into play from the discard pile and makes it so infected creatures don't reveal their Battlegear at the beginning of combat.
* Wamma, Flame Guard has a Mugic Ability of 1, Fire and Earth elemental types and the Defender ability for said elemental types.
----
%%* {{Acrofatic}}
%%* CowardlyLion
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Says he's just a lazy coward, but watch him in action.
* TheDragAlong: Wamma hates work and getting into dangerous situations. Though he's still a valuable ally that has too much of a conscience to just stand idly by while Sarah and her friends are in a jam.
* TokenHeroicOrc: Unlike most of his Danian brethren (who have a "shoot first, ask later" policy for dealing with intruders), Wamma doesn't seem to mind having Chaotic players around.

!!Queen Illexia
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/illexia.jpg]]

Illexia is the leader and Queen of the Danians. She is so highly revered and respected by her people, that any Danian creature would be willing to give up their lives to protect her.
----
* InsectQueen: The Queen of the insectoid Danians, who is equivalent to human royalty and acts like an elderly matriarch. She eventually abdicates her throne though.
* LargeAndInCharge: As the Queen, she's the largest of all the Danians.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Unlike the other tribe leaders, Illexia doesn't take action very often. It's justified given that the Danian hierarchy would simply collapse without her, meaning that they simply can't put Illexia at risk.
* ShelteredAristocrat: In a sense, she'd never met a human before she met Sarah. She also reacted with confusion when Sarah tried to scan her, likely meaning she'd never been scanned before either. Very understandable since she'd likely never taken a step outside of Mount Pillar.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: All she does, (including turn poor creatures into Danians against their will) she does in the name of protecting her people.

!!Odu-Bathax
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/odu_bathax.jpg]]

A high-ranking member of the Danians' military force.

His base card has a Mugic ability of 1, the Earth element and gains 5 energy for every Mandiblor the play controls. Odu-Bathax, Reservoir Reclaimer also has a Mugic ability of 1 and the Earth Element, has Earth 5, and can Expend Earth to gain Outperform Courage 5.
----
* BloodKnight: He's quite snappy when it comes to combat. This actually gets the Danians into trouble when they're trying to find a new home after Mount Pillar Reservoir was invaded: Raznus insisted on avoiding combat, but Odu-Bathax decided to [[LeeroyJenkins charge into Kiru City, almost ruining the chances of an alliance with the Overworld]].
* ColorCodedCharacters: Unlike most Danians, who tend to be varying shades of red and orange, Odu-Bathax's carapace is a unique greenish-gray color, making him instantly recognizable.
* CompositeCharacter: With Mount Pillar under siege and Illexia indisposed, Odu-Bathax serves as the Danians' representative on the Tribal Alliance against the M'arrillians, effectively combining him with Gorram from the card game.
* TheDragon: Second-in-command to Illexia in the Danian military.
* GeneralRipper: He doesn't take kindly to the presence of ''anyone'' who's not a Danian in Mount Pillar.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: All Danians have six limbs, subverting FourLeggedInsect, and usually walk on four legs. Odu-Bathax is one of the few that only walks on two legs, freeing up a pair of limbs for combat.
* PetTheDog: After the M'arrillian Invasion ended, Odu-Bathax seems to have slightly toned down his warmongering ways, if Tangath Toborn's funeral is any indication.
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: He's a much more formidable fighter than most of the Mandiblors under his command. His first card also gets stronger with each Mandiblor in play.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Despite his GeneralRipper tendencies, Odu-Bathax at least has no problems working alongside Tangath Toborn to fight the M'arrillians. Zigzagged when the Mipedians appeared, since he initially refused to fight alongside them until Tangath spoke up.

!!Raznus
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20240422_0630322.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:300:[[labelnote:Click here to see his original form]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raznus_original_form.jpg]][[/labelnote]]

->'''Voiced by''': Creator/DavidWills

Formerly the Overworld's ambassador to the Danians, Raznus dreamed of one day achieving peace between all the tribes of Perim. He was infected with a Danian Parasite and forcibly turned into a mandiblor. \
\
In the game Raznus has two versions with different abilities:
* His Overworld version has a Mugic ability of 2, Earth and Water elemental type, the Fireproof 10 ability, the Unique restriction and allows Danian creatures you control to spend Mugic counters on Overworld Mugic cards.
* Raznus, Assimilated has a Mugic ability of 1, Water elemental type, the Unique restriction and the ability to once per turn not allow Danian creatures you control to be targeted by Mugic or abilities until the end of the turn.
----
* FightingYourFriend: After he's transformed into a Danian, he attacks his old friend Maxxor due to being controlled by the hive, with the intent to either kill him or infect him with a Danian parasite.
* MartialPacifist: Raznus would rather solve conflict peacefully, with words instead of fists, but he can still hold his own in a fight when given no other choice.
* RedOniBlueOni: He was the blue one to Maxxor's red, especially during their youths. He would play the role of blue oni again when paired with the hot headed Odu-Bathax.
* TalkingTheMonsterToDeath: One time when he and Maxxor were young, a creature named Quisk took the entire Kiru city hostage as revenge for his friend being imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. While Maxxor was quick to resort to violence, Raznus managed to talk things out with Quisk and convince him to release the city.
* UnwittingPawn: The Danians sent him back to Kiru city under the pretense of signing a peace treaty with the Overworld. Homever, this was a lie, as Raznus had unknowingly been infected with a Danian parasite and the real reason the Danians sent him back to Kiru was in the hopes that he would either infect, or kill Maxxor.
* ViralTransformation: He was infected with a Danian parasite, which transformed him into a Danian mandiblor.
* WolfMan: Before he was turned into a Danian, he had the appearance of a canine humanoid.

[[folder:M'arrillian Tribe]]
[[quoteright:431:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marrillian_sigil.jpeg]]

The long-forgotten fifth Tribe of Perim, sealed behind the Doors of the Deepmines long ago.
!!Aa'une

The Oligarch of the M'arrillians, Aa'une rules over the lost Tribe... and, if his plans to come to fruition, all of Perim.
----
* BigBad: The main villain and threat of the M'arrillian Invasion season.
* EvilSoundsDeep: Has one of the deepest voices of any Creature, and is one of the most villainous.
* OneWingedAngel: While his usual guise is fairly standard as far as M'arrillians go, Aa'une's true form is a monstrous aquatic ''thing'' that dwarfs nearly every Creature in Perim with the power to match. [[spoiler:The only one that physically matched him is Iparu [[VoluntaryShapeshifting by virtue of turning into Aa'une. Even then, it took Maxxor and Chaor's assistance to turn the tide.]]]]
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Aa'une remains unseen for most of the season, with his lieutenants and their brainwashed minions doing most of the dirty work.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: His attempts to conquer Perim cause the four main tribes to band together and fight back. Though the alliance was dissolved afterwards, it has eased up tension between them. In contrast, the M'arrillian tribe obviously aren't doing so great from their failed invasion.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: He clearly didn't think Maxxor nor Chaor would actually be of any real threat to him. Unsurprisingly, this turned out very badly for Aa'une.

!!Phelphor

A M'arrillian that was frozen in Icy Pillar long ago, and was thawed out and taken to the Underworld.

His Underworld card has a Mugic ability of 1, the Water element and has the ability where during the damage step, he can move any creature to a spy adjacent to it on the Battle Board. His M'arrillian form has a Mugic Ability of 0, the Water element, can Fluidmorph and for 1 Mugic Counter he can relocate any creature to an adjacent unoccupied space. For 4 Mugic Counters he can remove the Swift ability from any creature so they cannot move or relocate to an unoccupied space.
----
* {{Gonk}}: Even Tom and company in-show quip about how ugly he looks.
* HypnoticCreature: Phelphor is the only M'arrillian to demonstrate mind control abilities that isn't a Chieftain. His cards reflect this power by letting him manipulate the positions of enemies on the board, [[PsychicAssistedSuicide including putting the opponent's weaker creatures somewhere that your frontline fighters can easily slaughter them]].
* ManipulativeBastard: Tries to manipulate Chaor into opening the Doors of the Deepmines and let the M'arrillians out. It didn't work, but Phelphor manages to improvise.
* MeaningfulName: His name sounds similar to "fell for", as in how some like Lord Van Bloot fell for his lies, foreshadowing his ManipulativeBastard tendencies.
* TrojanHorse: Basically used as such by the M'arrillians, who froze him in Icy Pillar in the hopes that the [=UnderWorlders=] would find him and be curious enough to take him in. It worked.

!!Milla'iin

A high-ranking Chieftain, Milla'iin was one of the first M'arrillians to leave the Doors of the Deepmines. He was tasked with flooding the Lava Pond to serve as a foothold for their invasion.
----
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: One of the M'arrillians' leaders, and is shown to be quite formidable in a straight fight. His ability to brainwash enemies that try to fight him definitely contributes to it.
* CombatTentacles: He possesses numerous tentacles, which as seen in a Drome battle featuring him, are one of his main means of finishing off enemies.
* FacelessEye: Milla'iin's only facial feature is a single, large, glowing eye.
* FinishingMove: His ability when used as a card. When an enemy Creature is reduced to 0 Power, Milla'iin can discard 2 Mugics to destroy it instantly.
* TheHeavy: Milla'iin isn't the one calling the shots for the M'arrillians, but he's the most visible antagonist for much of Season 2.
* HeroKiller: In the BadFuture witnessed by Tom and company, Milla'iin is seen taking down Najarin.
* ShouldersOfDoom: Appears to be wearing a wide mantle with large shoulders, but it's not certain whether it's a garment or part of his body. Nonetheless, it gives him an EvilSorcerer-esque look when combined with the growths behind his head that resemble a HighCollarOfDoom.
* TheVoiceless: He never speaks on-screen, other than through mind-controlled puppets; the only sounds he makes are unearthly shrieks and growls.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Other Creatures]]
!!Vitog

A creature from the Spiritlands who comes to Perim to challenge Tangath Toborn.
----
* FinalBoss: Interestingly, he is the last major threat in the series due to its cancellation.
* LastEpisodeNewCharacter: He is introduced in the final episode of the series.
* TakesOneToKillOne: Being a Spiritlander, only another Spiritlander can bring him down. That means Tangath Toborn.
