18
19Kunugigaoka Junior High School's Class 3-E is infamous for harboring its bottom 5% ninth-graders, created to give the rest of the student body (faculty included) a target for intense discrimination and thus a motive to keep their grades up.
20
21To add insult to injury, its students are banned from entering the main campus, instead relegated to a distant, rundown mountaintop CramSchool. This isolation, however, is the ideal place for a top-secret mission placed upon its students to attempt to assassinate their alien-like teacher who is threatening to destroy the world in one year.
22
23Despite being part of the class comprised of the school's "worst", each student has a characteristic which defines them and becomes their primary weapon. As the series progresses, they become better in assassination, P.E. ''and'' studying.

31!!General tropes associated with Class 3-E:
32
33* ActionGirl: Given the nature of the class, all the girls are naturally expected to be at least competent in various disciplines of battle.
34* AllMenArePerverts: While Okajima is the most blatant example, most of the other boys are no better. In Chapter 88, they outfit Itona's RC tank (which was supposed to be an assassination tool) with a webcam to be able to peek underneath the girls' skirts. [[SeriousBusiness And they do so with serious faces while operating in a professional manner.]] ''Manga/KoroSenseiQuest'' parodies this with most of the boys being barred from entering the Elf Queen's realm because of their impure thoughts (including the otherwise kind-hearted Isogai, by virtue of wearing only half an armor set because of his glitch).
35* ALighterShadeOfGray: The teachers are the portent of an ApocalypseHow, and a couple of trained assassins (one of which is enough of a JerkWithAHeartOfGold to be nicknamed "Professor Bitch"). The students are being trained as assassins in order to kill said apocalyptic teacher. That said, they're leagues nicer than the rest of the school (and the students' assassin training is being done to save the world).
36* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Class 3-E is a byproduct of Kunugigaoka's system, which keeps the lowest 5% together as an AntiRoleModel for the other 95%, who are also encouraged to keep their grades up with a system of institutionalized discrimination. Of course, this only applies to their grades and popularity, [[BullyingADragon not their ability to kill]].
37* AssassinsAreAlwaysBetrayed: The fact that nobody got hurt when Shiro blew up a pool that most of the students were swimming in required a good deal of luck. The intention may not have been to hurt them, but it was clearly negligent of their safety.
38* BadassAdorable: Most of the students are adorable to varying degrees. All of them are assassins in training that can scare their A-class bullies with merely a stare.
39* BadassBookworm: Played with. The main purpose of Class 3-E was to serve as a dumping ground for Kunugigaoka's worst students, though it is revealed that they (even Terasaka, relatively the most BookDumb of the lot) are pretty good at studying, just not ''good enough'' to stay out of the bottom 5%, while a few are present for different reasons -- Kataoka, Hayami, and Chiba were academic achievers who were frequently guilt-tripped by their schoolmates into helping tutor them, which took its toll on their own grades, while Karma and Isogai were sent there as disciplinary action (the former for his BullyHunter tendencies, the latter for violating school rules by having a part-time job).
40* BadassCrew: All of the students are being trained to assassinate Koro-sensei, and thus compared to most kids their age they are at least competent in various martial disciplines. As for the faculty, Koro-sensei himself is very fast, smart, and (if he can) powerful; Karasuma is a high-ranking government special forces agent with some serious combat skills; and Irina is an assassination prodigy using both her intellect and sex appeal to accomplish her missions.
41* BeautyEqualsGoodness: If you're attractive (or at least ordinary) without looking downright creepy, then you're likely a member of Class-E in one way or another. The only exception to this seems to be Koro-sensei and the four 3-E delinquents (not counting Karma). It's even lampshaded when two girls in a higher-ranking class note that 3-E's PE teacher, the young government agent Karasuma, is rather attractive, and that all of the guys and teachers in their class are ugly and mean.
42* BerserkButton: When Irina calls the class the "E class jerkwads" and tells them that studying would be meaningless, she gets pelted with school supplies by the whole class (minus Nagisa, who just covers his ears due to the noise) after one of them tells her to GetOut
43* BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine: Generally speaking, most of the class (especially Nagisa and Karasuma) will play the straight man to Koro-sensei's crazy antics. It's often lampshaded by the students, who will occasionally mention wanting to "tsukkomi" in response to whatever ludicrous situation they've just been presented with.
44* BookDumb: Downplayed. All of Class 3-E are fairly intelligent by normal middle-school standards. They just had the misfortune of being the bottom 5% of an extremely competitive, prestigious school, where the other 95% are extremely motivated not to become like them, and are even encouraged to bully them. After studying for several months under Koro-sensei, Karasuma and Irina, [[spoiler:''all'' 28 students reach the Top 50 at the end of the second semester, with Karma narrowly edging out Asano Jr. for the top spot.]]
45* BreakTheCutie: [[spoiler:At the end of Chapter 177 / Season 2 Episode 24, all the students broke down crying after they were forced to fulfill their end of the deal with Koro-sensei and finally kill him... after spending an entire year learning to become better people under his tutelage and becoming endeared to him.]]
46* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Their training eventually includes lessons on LeParkour. In short work, they're good enough to jump across rooftops InASingleBound.
47* ChildSoldiers: A variation, in that they're training to be assassins rather than traditional soldiers. Nevertheless, their teachers (Koro-sensei, Karasuma and Irina) ensure that they can have a normal life in addition to their training.
48* CodeName: Chapter 89 / Season 2 Episode 4 deals with all students and teachers (except Irina, Kanzaki, Hazama, Takebayashi, Hara and Ritsu in the manga; their code-names are only revealed on Volume 11 extras) having to refer to each other by [[EmbarrassingNickname embarrassing code names]] for the entire day.

79** Irina: "[[BitchInSheepsClothing Bitch among Bitches]]" (a play on her established EmbarrassingNickname "Bitch-sensei"; manga-only)
80* CombatPragmatist: Chapter 169 / Season 2 Episode 22 shows just how far the entire class has come in this regard. [[spoiler:During their final ascent in their attempt to save Koros-sensei, they come up against Craig Houjou, leader of the mercenary group who rounded them up earlier after the government decided to kill Koro-sensei, who's advertised as being "three times stronger" than Karasuma. Several chapters are spent building him up into a combat beast, and the fight begins with his internal monologue explaining how [[TheGlassesComeOff taking off his glasses]] is his psychological trigger to improve his combat skills... except that 3-E doesn't give him a chance to do that. They bombard him with coordinated attacks from the very beginning and don't give him a single chance to psyche himself up, culminating in being taken down with a Nagisa/Karma clap-and-kick combo. The latter even lampshades that Houjou would have wiped the floor with them in a fair fight.]]
81* ComesGreatResponsibility: During one LeParkour practice, Okajima and Kimura accidentally injure Matsukata, an elderly schoolteacher, putting the confidentiality of their mission in jeopardy. What's worse, the two refused to take responsibility for their actions, and none of the other students did either. As punishment, Koro-sensei bans them from studying for their second midterms, instead assigning them to work at a preschool Matsukata runs. Sure enough, they perform worse than last term's finals except for Karma (who still finished at second behind Asano Jr.), instilling in them a fairly harsh lesson about their responsibility as assassins.
82* ADayInTheLimelight: Due to the series's tons of characters and the fact that Nagisa, Kayano and Karma tend to get the most focus, the majority of the students don't stand out that much. Individual students do get [[ADayInTheLimelight focus chapters]] every now and then.
83* DemotedToExtra:
84** Happens a lot during the Assassination Island arc. [[spoiler:First, ten students -- Okajima, Mimura, Maehara, Sugino, Hazama, Kurahashi, Nakamura, Hara, Kanzaki and Muramatsu -- were poisoned, while Okuda and Takebayashi stay behind to tend to them, leaving only fifteen -- Nagisa, Karma, Kayano, Chiba, Hayami, Terasaka, Yoshida, Sugaya, Fuwa, Isogai, Kataoka, Okano, Yada, Kimura and Ritsu -- for the infiltration of the Fukuma Palace Hotel. Koro-sensei suffers from DeusExitMachina, sidelining him from most of the action. Once inside the hotel, Irina splits off from the group to distract the reception guards, and Karasuma is demoted to being TheLoad due being exposed to an assassin's knockout gas.]]
85** The entire class gets demoted to extra in the middle of the Reaper arc after [[spoiler:they are captured and held hostage by the "Reaper".]]
86* DontYouDarePityMe: The kids find themselves offended in Chapter 166 [[spoiler:at being pitied by people who have no idea what they had gone through and are making assumptions.]]
87* DownplayedTrope: Generally speaking, the students of Class 3-E tend to have more subtle characterization than that is typical of shounen leads, possessing a few unique traits that stand out strongly. This doesn't mean that their characters are simplistic, they merely exhibit various tropes in a way that is weaker than usual in fiction. In turn, this actually makes them seem more like real people than what one is typically used to seeing in fiction.
88* EverybodyCries: [[spoiler:After Koro-sensei is killed.]]
89* EverybodyHatesMath: Math is the most common weak subject in the class, with eight students listing it as their weakest. Besides this, six are bad in Japanese, four in Science, four in English, three in Social Studies, and Terasaka in multiple subjects (to the point [[ShoutOut comparisons]] with [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Naruto Uzumaki]] have been made). [[{{Pun}} Doing the math]], only Karma lacks any weak subject, and is only in 3-E for a different reason.
90* FantasticallyIndifferent: After you've been drafted to assassinate a Mach 20-moving, super-teaching eldritch smiley, your surprise may become somewhat miscalibrated. For example, after seeing someone casually walk straight through a wall, you may think "[[ThereWasADoor Use the damn door!]]" instead of "How did he do that!?" Granted, they ''expected'' an eccentric transfer student after they heard what Ritsu, the other "eccentric" transfer student, had to say about him.
91* FighterMageThief: There are two sets of this trope:
92** The three teachers: Karasuma [[CharlesAtlasSuperpower physically stronger than the two others ]] is the Fighter, laser-shooting Koro-sensei is the Mage and stealthy DeviousDaggers-wielding Irina is the Thief.
93** The three main students: Karma being the best unarmed combatant among the students (lampshaded by Karasuma) is the Fighter, Kaede [[spoiler: who had during a time CombatTentacles like Koro-Sensei is (or at least was) the Mage]] and Nagisa is the Thief being able to surprise his opponents with his unpredictable movements.
94* HeroicBSOD: [[spoiler:After Class-E learned of Koro-sensei's origins, they became afraid of killing the one person who helped them with their intellectual and emotional development. Their despair was so bad ''nobody'' made plans to assassinate him during the winter break.]]
95* HomeFieldAdvantage: [[spoiler:In Chapter 168, Class 3-E goes up against a squad of highly-trained and experienced elite soldiers/assassins who captured them effortlessly only a couple of chapters earlier and, by every other measure, would have crushed them just as effortlessly in any other situation had they ''not'' been fighting on their home turf, the mountain where they have spent an entire school year hunting, playing, and studying with a superhuman being. As a consequence, they end up being [[CurbStompBattle curb stomped]] mercilessly (the fact that Karasuma secretly fed them information as well as misled the soldiers into a false sense of security also helped).]]
96* HostageSituation: The entire class is taken hostage in the middle of the Reaper arc.
97* AHouseDivided: In Chapter 142 / Season 2 Episode 17, [[spoiler:after learning about Koro-sensei's past, the class was divided as to how to deal with him, culminating in a brief scuffle between Nagisa and Karma after the latter got annoyed at the former's self-deprecatory habits. To avoid a schism, Koro-sensei suggested that they hold a war game using paintball firearms and color-coated anti-sensei knives to help them make a final decision. On the "blue" side, which wanted to find a way to prevent Koro-sensei from exploding, are Nagisa, Kayano, Sugino, Kanzaki, Okuda, Kataoka, Isogai, Maehara, Yada, Kurahashi, Takebayashi, Fuwa and Hara. On the "red" side, which wanted to honor his stated wish to be killed, are Karma, Nakamura, Terasaka, Muramatsu, Yoshida, Hazama, Itona, Chiba, Hayami, Okano, Kumiura, Mimura, Okajima and Sugaya. Ritsu, meanwhile, remains neutral, creating her own "white" side. Ultimately the "blue" side won after Nagisa chokes Karma to submission (though it should be noted that Karma had the opportunity to stab Nagisma in the back at that point, and didn't take it); nevertheless the fact that the duel ended with neither boy "tagging" each other out made it easier for the whole class to come around to the winning decision.]]
98* InformedFlaw: Class 3-E is supposedly composed of Kunugigaoka's worst students, but plenty of them seem reasonably intelligent. As it turns out, they simply had the misfortune of being the bottom 5% by Kunugigaoka's borderline-sadistic standards, and also tend to have skewed aptitudes (for example, Okuda is good in mathematics and science, but has failing grades in Japanese). Then there's Karma and Isogai, who were demoted as a disciplinary action, while Kataoka, Hayami and Chiba spent [[TakingAdvantageOfGenerosity so much time helping other students]] that their grades dramatically slipped. On top of that, later chapters show that the teaching methods used by most of the faculty are geared towards students who are able to learn via memorization and note-taking, while ignoring other methods of learning. Koro-sensei, who is willing to customize his curriculum to capitalize on his students' strengths and weaknesses, gets far better results (though being able to do everything at Mach 20 also helps).
99* KeepTheReward: Played with. [[spoiler:After they finally assassinate Koro-sensei, the government gives them reward money as promised. However, the class (some rather reluctantly) only keep a small portion for themselves to continue their education, donate some of it to their friends, buy back their campus and the surrounding mountain area, and gave the rest back to the government as gratitude for helping with their education.]]
100* KillTheOnesYouLove: [[spoiler:At the end of Chapter 177 / Season 2 Episode 24, the students finally kill Koro-sensei at his behest, partly as their final graduation test, partly to signify the completion of his promise to Aguri to help them become better people, and partly to spare him the indignity of being blasted to oblivion with a KillSat. Unfortunately, by that time they had already grown very close to Koro-sensei, who not only helped them develop intellectually, physically and emotionally, but also showed them the love and warmth denied to them by the rest of the school, so understandably all of them break down crying over what they had done.]]
101* LastNameBasis: Everyone is almost always called by their last names, with the exception of Nagisa, Karma, Ritsu and Itona, while Irina is commonly known as "Bitch-sensei".
102* MuggingTheMonster:
103** Whenever one of the regular students try to bully someone from 3-E it never ends well for them. They're lucky if they only end up fleeing in fear for their lives.
104** Not just fellow students at the school. Do not try picking on the seemingly "weak" tourists simply because you're bored delinquents out to have a bit of fun.
105* MundaneUtility: Their assassination skills are very useful in the School Festival games.
106* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous[=/=]ShoutOutThemeNaming: Most of the students' surnames are taken after those of several members of UsefulNotes/The47Ronin. However, many of the characters have altered names, either in how they are read or what kanji are used to write them. This may be a further reference to the oldest fictional versions of the story, which were written in a time when plays depicting current events were censored. To avoid that, the plays based on the story used different names and a different time period. Okuda, Muramatsu, Yoshida and Itona have two namesakes, and Hazama has three, while (Nagisa) Shiota, Chiba and Maehara are derivatives of, respectively, Ushioda, Senba and Maebara. Ritsu, meanwhile, is partially named after Oishi Riku, wife of Oishi Yoshio, leader of the Ronin.
107* NightmareFace: Sometimes, the students mimic Koro-sensei's regular face whenever he and they have a "sinister" plan in store for somebody.
108* {{Ninja}}: Thanks to their training, they possess ninja-like stealth techniques like "nanba" (a way of walking aimed to avoid excess movement and noise) and can climb up sheer cliffs with ease.
109* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou:
110** Karma individually takes up this resolution after his introduction.
111** The students collectively come to this decision after [[spoiler:Itona almost kills Koro-sensei]], as they feel it's not "right" for a stranger to be allowed to kill their teacher, [[spoiler:though they eventually let him once he was admitted into the class.]]
112* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: The fate of the world rests in the hands of a classroom full of quirky, academically inferior middle-school students.
113* ShipTease: Some of the interactions between the students can be interpreted in this light. This becomes clearer with [[TheMatchMaker Koro-sensei's "Couple Setup" plan]], which pairs the Class in boy/girl groups in a test of courage, based on their interactions. The effort was largely fruitless, to his dismay. Matsui himself would later even sink some of them [[AllThereInTheManual in the Roll Book Time]], revealing their feelings for other classmates, or that the set pair have "no special feelings" for each other. The known pseudo-couples are:
114** Nagisa/Kayano: They have the most visible interaction among the student pairings, while Kayano is implied to have a crush on Nagisa. [[spoiler:Then there's the CooldownHug between them, and while their status as of the epilogue remains ambiguous, Kayano's body language implies that she may be pregnant, even as she tries to deflect Hara's questions about her and Nagisa.]]
115** Karma/Okuda: The latter doesn't find Karma scary (unlike most of the other girls), while the former admits that he is interested in Okuda mostly because of her apothecary knowledge. The manual even claims that out of all the females in the class, Karma feels the most comfortable around Okuda, enough to allow him to drop his guard around her.
116** Sugino/Kanzaki: Sugino has a crush on Kanzaki, though his plans to impress her tend to fail and she continues to think of him as just a friend.
117** Chiba/Hayami: They are the best marksmen in 3-E and appear together most of the time, especially in the Assassination Island arc. They also celebrate their victory against Gastro by crossing their arms together. The Roll Book time chart even reveals that they they have been on dates before.
118** Sugaya/Nakamura: It is not known why Koro-sensei paired them.
119** Maehara/Okano: [[{{Tsundere}} Okano]] has a crush on Maehara and is often annoyed at his playboy tendencies. Their interactions just scream {{Belligerent Sexual Tension}}.
120** Okajima/Kurahashi: Also unknown, but both have ADayInTheLimelight in the same chapter.
121** The delinquent group of [[ThreesomeSubtext Terasaka, Muramatsu and Hazama]].
122** Isogai/Kataoka: Both serve as {{Class Representative}}s, are kind and helpful, have been sent to 3-E for other reasons than overall academic incompetence, and during the Valentine's arc, [[spoiler:not only does Kataoka give Isogai bulk chocolates from a convenience store as gift for his younger siblings, but she also reveals that they are trying for the same public high school.]]
123** Karasuma/Irina: The only adults besides Koro-sensei. They are notable for having the largest amount of ''actual'' subtext between them. This becomes so obvious the [[ShipperOnDeck whole class once made a plan to help the latter confess]]. [[spoiler:As of the epilogue, they are now married.]]
124* SlobsVersusSnobs: The slobs to Class 3-A's snobs.
125* SpotlightStealingSquad:
126** Nagisa, Kayano and Karma are the students who get more exposure than the rest of the class, though they are occasionally joined by Sugino and Okuda. Even when the focus shifts to other characters, at least one of the three will appear in a prominent way.
127** Both Karasuma and Irina become this in the middle of the Reaper arc.
128* ThirteenIsUnlucky: Judging by the school roll shown in Chapter 11 / Season 1 Episode 5, on paper Kunugigagoka has four sections per year, for a total of twelve. This technically makes Class 3-E the "phantom" thirteenth section, befitting its reputation as the dumping-ground for the school's worst of the worst.
129* ThouShaltNotKill: Anyone who isn't Koro-sensei is off-limits to them, though it's not like they want to kill anyone else in particular.
130* TookALevelInBadass: As a result of the assassination training they have to undergo, ''all'' the students have taken ''some'' levels in badass. And they won't stop.
131* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: They are tasked with killing their own teacher, and instead of displaying fear or hesitance, they show great enthusiasm. Even more disturbing is that even after they've bonded with him, it didn't dull their purpose a bit. Granted, the fact that their target is not human may be a factor in this behavior, but still, as Karasuma mused, this is not normal:
132-->"A group of junior-kids keyed up about assassination. Strangest class ever."
133* TrueCompanions: It took awhile but the whole class makes up a tightly knit BadassCrew. They really care about each other and get along well, and will endure great lengths to protect or avenge their companions.
134** The Assassination Island arc is where their bond really begins to shine. After ten of them are poisoned with a deadly virus, the mastermind [[spoiler:Takaoka]] demands Koro-sensei, Kayano, and Nagisa in exchange for the antidote. Rather than handing over two of their classmates and their teacher, the remaining seventeen, plus Karasuma and Irina, instead elect to leave two of them behind to take care of their sick friends while the rest infiltrate the hotel where the trade-off was supposed to take place and steal the antidote back. During the infiltration, they keep on going despite the increasing danger of the situation (including facing off against three pros), not a single one of them thinking of stopping or going back. [[spoiler:Then, before the start of Nagisa's second duel with Takaoka, two of them try to sneak up to help him and only stop because Takaoka threatened the only remaining vials of the antidote -- and even then, after Takaoka starts giving Nagisa a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown, many of them still consider interfering anyway because they can't bear to see one of their friends hurt like that]].
135** [[spoiler:Even after the civil war game, they patch things up as they unite around Nagisa's decision to save Koro-sensei, though ultimately they reluctantly comply to his wish to be given a dignified death. The epilogue reveals that seven years down the road, they are still in contact with each other.]]
136* UnconventionalLearningExperience: {{Invoked|Trope}} by Koro-sensei, who intends to use the hit against him to give his students an opportunity to apply the knowledge he taught them, so they study things they otherwise wouldn't and learn the material better.

157An agent sent from Japan's Ministry of Defense to supervise Koro-sensei, while he also fronts as Class 3-E's P.E. teacher.
158----
159* TheAce: Incredibly skilled in a variety of fields. While that amounts to nothing when you take into account that he's against a supersonic, unkillable octopus, his skills nonetheless make an invaluable asset when training Class E or going up against human opponents. This is exemplified in Chapter 106.
160* AmazonChaser: He "likes" muscular, battle-ready women, though it's suspect if he realized they were asking about his ideal ''romantic'' type. Either way, it sucks to be Irina, since she is more the stab-them-in-their-sleep type of assassin. [[spoiler: Evidentally, that is not a deal-breaker, because he still marries her.]]
161* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Each student entry in the Roll Book Time contains his analysis on his/her strategic, leadership, execution, technique, reconnaissance and negotiation skills on a scale of 1 to 6.
162* BadassInANiceSuit: He's a government agent. It's practically a trademark.
163* BadassTeacher: One of the reasons why he's respected by his students. He's very protective of the Class 3-E's students, and will not stand for anyone physically or emotionally hurting them.
164* BashBrothers: Together with Koro-sensei in the tag game.
165--> "The strongest creature and the strongest human. [[ItMakesSenseInContext They're coming to attack us to give us more homework!!]]"
166* BloodKnight: Whenever he spars with his students, and even more during the freerunning cops and robbers game, he really enjoys himself. He also can't help himself when going up against the "Reaper" in Chapter 106.
167* CelibateHero: He isn't as clueless to Irina's crush as he seems. He just thinks romance gets in the way of work. [[spoiler:That is until the end of the series, where he's married to Irina. However, she still can't get a reaction out of him, at least during work hours. ]]
168* CharacterFocus: Season 2 Episode 8 of the anime focuses on him trying to save Class 3-E from the God of Death.
169* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: He is an elite agent of Japan's Ministry of Defense. All that training has made him at least twice as tough as the average human. In Chapter 106 he stops an iron beam and grabs a crossbow bolt ''with one hand each''.
170* TheComicallySerious: He mostly reacts to the hijinks around him, mostly courtesy of Irina, with an unflinchingly stern expression.
171* CoolTeacher: Despite his stoic attitude, all the students like him for his skills as well as his protective nature.
172* DramaPreservingHandicap: He's incapacitated from gas to stop him from otherwise steamrolling [[spoiler:Takaoka's]] goons. Combined with Koro-sensei's current immobility, the students were left to fend for themselves.
173* EveryoneHasStandards: For all his stoic and professional demeanor, even Karasuma cannot help but be outraged at Kunugigaoka's discriminatory policies, as shown when he sees Nagisa being bullied by Tanaka and Takada.
174-->"This whole stupid (academic) system is a travesty..."
175* FacePalm: His reaction in Chapter 10 / Season 1 Episode 4 after seeing Irina make a walking PR disaster of herself with her insensitive comments on Class 3-E right to their faces.
176* FromRoommatesToRomance: Karasuma invites Irina to live with him in order for her to leave the assassin lifestyle. [[spoiler:Years later, they're confirmed to have gotten married.]]
177* GroinAttack: He finds an opening for a second and punches [[spoiler:the God of Death]] in the groin.
178* HeyYou: He refuses to call Koro-sensei by the name his students gave him. He either just calls him "You" or nicknames like "Target", to his frustration. [[spoiler:Averted in Chapter 177 / Season 2 Episode 24, where he calls Koro-sensei by name for the first and last time as he allows himself to be assassinated by his students.]]
179* HiddenDepths: He is the most serious and straight-laced character in the series, yet Koro-sensei reveals that the main source of his inhuman strength is [[spoiler:"the deep rage hidden in his heart".]]
180* HonorBeforeReason: [[spoiler:He decides that the lives of the students are worth more than a chance to kill Koro-sensei and proceeds to ''challenge the "[[TheDreaded Reaper]]"''.]]
181* HotTeacher: Oh, boy. Just ask the Class 3-E's female students. They gush about how "intense" he is and really like it when he pats them on the head for doing well in class.
182* IgnoreTheFanservice: Poor Irina. He constantly ignores all of her attempts to seduce him. And sometimes, he even ''scolds her'' for being too hot. [[spoiler: Even after they're married, he still reacts to her charm with the same stone-faced expression as always.]]
183* IndirectKiss: Irina does this with his napkin. [[ObliviousToLove Which he mistakes for a being new assassination technique.]]
184* InkSuitActor: Though not played straight, it is ''heavily'' invoked in the English dub version. What are the chances that an actor (Chris Ryan) happened to have a high rank in the government as a special forces operator?
185* ItHasBeenAnHonor: [[spoiler:As Koro-sensei allows himself to be assassinated by his students, in his parting words Karasuma expresses that, as much of a trouble Koro-sensei has been to him, he couldn't have been more prouder to have worked with him, and says a fond goodbye to him, addressing him by name for the first and last time.]]
186* MajorlyAwesome: The movie has him wear the insignia of a JGSDF major on his uniform.
187* MundaneUtility: His methods as a P.E. teacher involve teaching his students knife-based [=CQC=].
188* MrFanservice: When he takes off his shirt to wrap around Irina's left arm as a cast after [[spoiler:the God of Death]] caves in the ceiling on her, she suddenly spurts blood from her face. He believes that it was a head injury until she clarifies that the sight of his muscular body [[{{Nosebleed}} got her excited]].
189* NotSoStoic: He tries so hard to maintain a professional demeanor, but considering the insanity of the situation he finds himself in, he can hardly go five minutes without getting visibly angry.
190* ObliviousToLove: Karasuma's main weakness is being "super dense", especially towards Irina's blatant overtures. [[spoiler:{{Subverted|Trope}} when it's revealed he knew all along, but just doesn't return her feelings (out of a belief that such feelings would negatively impact both of them as professionals) until he realizes how badly it affected Irina, and later extends an offer for her to work for the Ministry of Defense and subtly asks her to ''live with him.'' She's naturally ecstatic.]]
191* OhCrap: Karasuma's reaction upon seeing the ''other'' photo that Takaoka left behind at the teachers' room and [[spoiler:realizing that his students are now at the mercy of a complete and utter psychopath.]]
192* OnlySaneMan: In comparison to other teachers, most of his students, and his own (shady) bosses? Oh, yes, he's totally the most rational person in the campus.
193* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Karasuma cares just as much for making sure the kids can overcome the school's system as he does keeping them healthy and safe while making sure they can stop Koro-sensei from destroying the world. He also intervenes on their behalf whenever he feels the government is overstepping into their lives. [[spoiler:When soldiers come in to take Class 3-E into custody after successfully assassinating Koro-sensei, he tells them that they cannot lay their hands on the kids as long as they are in the classroom (and thus under his protectorate), allowing them some private time to mourn their loss.]]
194* PapaWolf: When Takaoka attacks the students, he's quite ready to destroy him in a fight, and when the former attempts to attack Nagisa he follows through with a one-hit knock-out. This makes it clear who the real "dad" of P.E. class is.
195* ShounenHair: It actually makes him look badass at first sight.
196%%%* SlasherSmile: Does this a couple of times in battles.
197* SternTeacher: Very much stern. When Maehara questioned the usefulness of the knife drills, he demonstrated their usefulness by deflecting his strikes and then throwing him into the ground, and always without a change in expression. The pupils actually like him for it, even if they acknowledge it at the same time, because he praises them when they are successful in their training.
198* SugarAndIcePersonality: Always serious and businesslike, but ultimately a good and caring person at heart. However stern and stoic he is, deep down he does care a lot for others and will not hesitate to put his life on the line for their sake and it's very obvious to all concerned.
199* TeamDad: At 28 years old, Karasuma is the oldest member of Class 3-E (barring Koro-sensei), and he also serves as a stern but compassionate father-figure to the students.
200* TryingNotToCry: [[spoiler:After Koro-sensei finally dies, Karasuma is struggling to fight off his tears, while Irina quietly weeps by his side, as they helplessly watch the students grieve over their beloved sensei.]]
201* {{Tsundere}}: He likes his coworkers well enough, but doesn't want to openly show it and keeps treating them harshly. In Koro-sensei's case, Karasuma doesn't forget he's his assassination target and can't be friendly with him. With Irina, Karasuma just finds her advances annoying and keeps his distance from her, while at the same time respecting her as a professional and hoping his rejections will help her not fall prey to what he perceives as emotional weakness. [[spoiler:Even when he's married to Irina seven years later, he keeps treating her coldly based on this mindset.]]
202* WackyMarriageProposal: [[spoiler:Instead of offering a proper marriage proposal, Karasuma tells Irina that she should retire from her profession as an assassin, work for the Ministry of Defense instead, and offer prayers for her previous targets at the shrine near his house. He allows her to fill in the blanks of what he really meant.]]
203* WasTooHardOnHer: [[spoiler:Eventually realizes that his treatment of Irina is too harsh, which led to her brief betrayal, and promptly apologizes for it.]]

214->''"C'mon, I'm an assassin -- I'm supposed to be killing people, not hunting an octopus with brats."''
215
216A South Slavic assassin who was sent to Class 3-E to kill Koro-sensei. After a failed first attempt she settles down as their English (Social Studies in the English dub) and infiltration teacher.
217----
218* AccentSlipUp: She can speak languages in their native accents, but her true accent shows up when she is really chagrined.
219* ActionFashionista: She is very fashion-conscious, teaches English with ''Series/SexAndTheCity'' and takes every opportunity to dress up in revealing clothes... but she is also a scarily efficient assassin. That's most of the boxes ticked, then. The Roll Book Time even shows that each student entry has her fashion-check notes on both their school and casual clothing.
220* BadassTeacher: She is an assassin. The teacher thing is just a cover, but she does a good job teaching English / Social Studies.
221* BewareTheSillyOnes: Her short temper and role as the class's main comic relief and ButtMonkey can make you forget she's a notorious and skilled assassin.
222* BitchInSheepsClothing: When she first transferred into Class 3-E, she comes off as a lovesick airhead. Outside of Koro-sensei's presence, however, she shows a more vicious, unsympathetic side, inspiring Karma to call her "Bitch-neesan", which later mutated into "Bitch-sensei".
223* BreakTheHaughty: Her arrogance when she first arrived on the 3-E Campus put Karma's to shame by a wide-margin. She proudly declares to the students and Karasuma that she would kill Koro-sensei long before she ever had to actually teach a class. Then Koro-sensei not only survives her "flawless" set-up but then reveals that he smelled it coming a day in advance, before she even met him. Then he makes her wear a gym uniform, just because, and her students decide to nickname her "Bitch-Sensei".
224* BunnyEarsLawyer: Irina is a fashion-obsessed airhead who can teach multiple languages and interpersonal interaction surprisingly well as a ''result'' of her training as an ''assassin''.
225* ButtMonkey: Part of her comedy value is being the Class Bitch. She quickly learned there are a select few people her usually reliable skills aren't that useful against. Doesn't stop her trying (and failing), though. [[spoiler:Henna tattoos of total embarrassment may be involved on occasion.]]
226* BuxomBeautyStandard: She has the buxom figure one would expect from a FemmeFatale assassin, which is emphasized by her often wearing outfits with cleavage. Due to this, she often ends up triggering Kaede's ACupAngst.
227* CantActPervertedTowardALoveInterest: She admits to [[ReallyGetsAround sleeping around in her job]] and has no shame in giving her own students French kisses. But with her crush Karasuma, she doesn't dare to do more than a napkin IndirectKiss.
228* CharacterDevelopment: Having been [[spoiler:EasilyForgiven by Koro-sensei, Karasuma and the rest of Class 3-E for betraying them to the "Reaper"]], Irina, touched by their goodwill, decides to live up to their faith by becoming a better person. She stops being TheTease (even starting to wear more conservative clothing), takes her teaching job seriously, and becomes a friendlier woman.
229* ChekhovsSkill: During a late Season 1 episode, a {{Stinger}} shows that Irina has the ability to make a model soldier out of its pieces with her tongue in her mouth. [[spoiler:She uses this skill to [[SleightOfTongue slip the students]] the explosives, maps and other tools they need to escape their imprisonment.]]
230* ChildSoldiers: She made her first kill when she was twelve, which is even younger than her current students are.
231* CoolBigSis: On a good day, she is less of a "class bitch" and more of an admired older woman that the female students want to learn from, and not just what she officially teaches.
232* CombatStilettos: Those high-heeled sandals she wears almost all the time don't hinder her work as an assassin. Granted, "her work as an assassin" is more about seduction than straight-forward combat.
233* CripplingOverspecialization: She was taught seduction and infiltration techniques that are second to none, but at the expense of being subpar in combat techniques. As a result, she's at a major disadvantage when she's found out, which is why Lovro initially came in to dismiss her.
234* CulturedBadass: Her language and communication skills, as well as being able to play piano beautifully, makes her much more well-rounded than a simple killer.
235* CunningLinguist: As a globetrotting saboteur, she speaks many languages, and is able to get close to almost anyone through her wits and charm. During the Hotel arc, she easily distracts an entire room full of guards to allow the students to proceed.
236* DarkAndTroubledPast: First implied when she tells the students that they were lucky to be born in a peaceful country. It's later revealed that her homeland had an ethnic war and that, when she was twelve, she killed a soldier who killed her parents with her father's gun, then hid the corpse with her in the cellar to wait for the enemy to leave, all while feeling the body going lukewarm next to her. Considering her age and ethnicity, it should be pretty obvious exactly [[UsefulNotes/TheYugoslavWars what conflict]] is being referenced here.
237* DistractedByTheSexy: One of her specialties is to seduce her target so that they don't notice her accomplices pulling the trigger behind them. Ironically, She herself gets distracted by seeing Karasuma [[ShirtlessScene shirtless]].
238* TheDitz: If she wasn't an assassin, you'd wonder about her ability to survive due to how clumsy she is.
239* EasilyForgiven: [[spoiler:Turns on the students, beats them, captures them and briefly joins the "Reaper". She's reinstated after Kurahashi convinces Karasuma to give her a second chance]]. To be fair, though, [[spoiler: the students were probably feeling guilty about driving her away with the "birthday gift gone wrong plan", and after that she really puts effort into redeeming herself and living up to their good faith.]]
240* EmbarrassingNickname:
241** "Bitch-neesan", first floated by Karma, and later "Bitch-sensei", as an affectionate term. Even the more polite students use it freely.
242** The official English subtitles use "Professor Bitch", while the manga avoids the swear word but preserves the pun by calling her Ms. Vitch.
243** The English dub has the class call her "Yella' bitch" (punning on her full surname), which then gets turned into "Hella bitch", and later "Professor Bitch".
244* EvenEvilHasStandards: The other students' treatment of Class 3-E at the assembly appalls even a sly assassin like her.
245* EveryoneCanSeeIt: The whole class knows that she is in love with Karasuma. She doesn't deny it.
246* FemmeFatale: She's done her utmost to cultivate the persona of a seductive and alluring woman who can kill without as much as a spasm of conscience... and, is ''more'' than willing to pass the techniques along.
247* ForcefulKiss: Plants a 30-hit combo to Nagisa in order to get him to share Koro-sensei's weaknesses. She also does this to the other boys, either as punishment or a reward.
248* GoodCostumeSwitch: After [[spoiler:being reinstated into Class 3-E despite her brief FaceHeelTurn]], she starts wearing more conservative clothing to signify her turning over a new leaf, although the fact that her crush Karasuma is also a conservative man may also have something to do with her decision. Ironically, the guys find her even more attractive after this.
249* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking: She smokes during the first few chapters she appears in, but stop completely after her HeelFaceTurn.
250* HairTriggerTemper: When she's frustrated, she doesn't exactly hide it (unless from an actual target). Added to a set of {{Berserk Button}}s of questioning either her sex appeal, her competency or her dedication to killing Koro-sensei... and of course, calling her "[[EmbarrassingNickname Bitch-sensei]]" (Though that last one becomes less prominent as the series goes on).
251* HeadTurningBeauty: Her good looks are noticed and commented on by the majority of the cast.
252* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: After Karasuma showed her how hard Koro-sensei works for his students, she decides to take her job as a teacher seriously. [[spoiler:Then she was manipulated by the "Reaper" into betraying Class 3-E to get a greater chance to kill Koro-sensei, even if it brings harm to the kids. Then she is reinstated back to the class after the "Reaper" betrays her and the students learn of her psychological trauma, at which point she decides to live up to the goodwill given to her.]]
253* HiddenDepths:
254** She's well aware that her beauty may not last for long and one should do everything she can to make herself shine as a woman.
255** Her behavior sometimes comes off as childish and immature compared to the rest of the cast. The few students who get to know her well eventually realize that [[spoiler:she never fully matured due to having grown in a wartorn environment.]]
256** On a few occasions, she shows that she actually does care for the students quite a bit. Like during the assembly, when she says that someone ought to pummel one of the other students who is giving E Class a hard time.
257** She is shown to be good at reading people, best demonstrated by her seeing through Takaoka's [[DissonantSerenity excessively cheerful]] personality right from the start. Her own acting skills allow her to recognize when someone else is acting.
258** As proven by the Assassination Island arc, she is an excellent pianist.
259* HoneyTrap: What she did before coming to this school was seduce people so she could kill them when they were vulnerable.
260* HotTeacher: Duh! Everyone acknowledges how attractive their English teacher is.
261* InconsistentSpelling: The English manga spells her name "Jelavitch" to make clear the pronunciation and the "vitch"/"bitch" pun.
262* IndirectKiss: To Karasuma with his napkin. Unfortunately, [[ObliviousToLove he doesn't get the reason behind it]].
263* InstantExpert: She picks up Japanese in just a few months, because she is already used to learning languages.
264* ItOnlyWorksOnce: Irina's biggest flaw as an assassin is that once her HoneyTrap cover gets blown, she gets flustered and can't complete her job.
265* KeepItForeign: [[AvertedTrope Averted]]. Rather than choosing another language for her to teach, the English Dub made her the Social Studies teacher.
266* LadykillerInLove: A female version. She has seduced countless men to reach her targets in the past. Karasuma is the first man she has a genuine interest in. Unfortunately, he's immune to her advances and just doesn't like her that way [[spoiler:at least at first.]]
267* MarshmallowHell: Irina tries to extract information on Koro-sensei's weaknesses by smothering Nagisa with her breasts. A couple of schoolmates find themselves incredibly jealous of him.
268* MsFanservice:
269** The students discover that she has the ability to make ''anything'' she wears incredibly sexy, even a conservative sweater.
270** She often tries to invoke this trope, but comically fails for most of the time.
271* MundaneUtility: She uses her skillset as an infiltration-centric HoneyTrap to teach the class, whether it be her skills as an {{Omniglot}} to teach English in the Japanese version, or her skills as TheCharmer to teach grammar and speechcraft in the English version.
272* OhCrap: Irina gets one after she realized she ''[[TranquilFury pissed-off the entire class]]'' after she tells them that studying would be meaningless to them and they should just leave the matter of killing Koro-sensei to her. She is subsequently met with ''a whole bunch of [[DeathGlare Death Glares]]'' from the students who not only quickly turn on her, but they also show her the door by pelting objects at her after one of them tells her to GetOut
273* {{Omniglot}}: She speaks ten languages, which she learned by taking lovers in each country she visits and learning from them.
274* OldMaid: It never comes up as a character point, but a throwaway joke shows Itona on a scavenger hunt looking for "something near its expiration date" and dragging Irina along (even though she's only twenty).
275* PleaseKillMeIfItSatisfiesYou: This is asked of her by [[spoiler:Koro-sensei as he allows himself to be assassinated. She respectfully declines, claiming only his students have the right to sever their ties.]]
276* PluckyComicRelief: She's usually delegated to this role when she's not at the focus of an arc.
277* PrimAndProperBun: [[spoiler: In the epilogue, where she is working for Japan's Ministry of Defense, she is shown wearing her hair in a bun, which is more professional than her original voluminous look.]]
278* ProperTightsWithASkirt: After her GoodCostumeSwitch, she wears tights with her skirt, which is a more modest look than her original ensemble.
279* RomanticFakeRealTurn: She ''claims'' that her attempts to seduce Karasuma are just to challenge herself because he is so straight-laced and serious. This is before she acknowledges that she's sincerely interested in him.
280* SenseiChan: She's a little more volatile than most, but fits the bill considering her age and tendency for immature fits. Nagisa theorizes that growing up as an assassin inhibited her emotional development.
281* SensualSlavs: A South Slavic example as her form of assassination is [[FemmeFatale based on seduction]]. [[note]][[GeniusBonus Her surname and religious affiliation implies her to be a Croatian or Croat descent]][[/note]].
282* SexGoddess: Unsurprisingly for a HoneyTrap infiltration assassin, she is an exceedingly gifted lover. During one of her first English classes, she uses the phrase "You are incredible in bed" as an example, with the phrase coming from what one of her previous targets told her.
283* SexySweaterGirl: Interestingly, she is a double example of this trope. After her GoodCostumeSwitch, she wears a conservative sweater which shows far less skin than her previous top. This is in keeping with the general Asian idea of sweaters being modest. However, several of her students get nosebleeds the first time they see her in it, because it leaves more to their imagination. This is the more Western idea of the trope of sweaters being fanservice.
284* SignificantWardrobeShift: Later on, Irina starts dressing more plainly to better fit in a regular life. Ironically, the male students ended up finding her even ''more'' attractive now that she has toned down the MsFanservice act.
285* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: She gets a crush on [[spoiler:and ultimately marries]] TheStoic, yet ultimately kind-hearted NiceGuy that is Karasuma. At first, seducing him appears to be a challenge that she got carried away with, but her love for him is cemented when [[spoiler: he digs her out of the rubble created by "Reaper" betraying her, uses his own shirt to create a splint for her broken arm, declares his intention to protect her along with the students, and then gives her "Reaper's" rose as a late birthday gift on his own initative.]]
286* SmokingIsGlamorous: Initially smoked several a day, but she drops the habit rather quickly when Nagisa informs her about Koro-sensei's heightened sense of smell.
287* {{Stripperiffic}}: Flashes just a ''bit'' too much flesh than she really should as a teacher, whenever possible.
288* TeamMom: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]], after Class 3-E reveals that they considered Karasuma to be [[TeamDad the class' Dad]], Irina then asks if this means they view her as the mom. [[NoRespectGuy They don't]].
289-->'''Takebayashi:''' You're more like the class bitch.\
290'''Irina''': Asshole!
291* TookALevelInKindness: She initially doesn't care about or believe in the students, but as time passes she grows fond of them and increasingly become disgusted by the school's system of degrading Class 3-E.
292* {{Tsundere}}: She grows fond of the class soon enough, but still gets annoyed by the ButtMonkey treatment they give her. She also has a hard time finding the right way to express her crush on Karasuma, who keeps brushing off her advances. Nagisa thinks this has something to do with how Irina's line of work kept her from learning how to be honest with her feelings.
293* VillainBall: Though her initial plan to kill Koro-sensei was well-planned, Irina ignored the critical detail of Koro-sensei's weakness to [[AbnormalAmmo weapons of a specific material]], [[NoOneCouldSurviveThat instead choosing to use live ammo under the assumption that no living creature could survive a barrage of lead]]. Suffice to say, the attempt fails ''badly''.
294* WeakButSkilled: Despite being pretty subpar in outright combat, her skill in manipulation, distraction, and seduction is unmatched.
295* WomanChild: {{Downplayed|Trope}}, but it is pointed out that her past means she did not fully mature emotionally, which is why she can be ditzy at times.
296* WoundedGazelleGambit: When [[spoiler:she betrays Class 3-E to the God of Death]], she proves that familiarity with her can be just as dangerous as ignorance.
297* YoungerThanSheLooks: Her students couldn't believe it when Irina reveals that she's only twenty years old. They say her sexy body and experience in the world of seduction gave the impression that she was much older.

342* HeroWorshipper: He idolizes and tries to emulate Arita, a Japanese MLB player.
343* HeroicBSOD: Suffers from a minor one in Episode 2 after not only his fastball fails to hit Koro-sensei, but learns that his physique means he will never be like Arita. Koro-sensei breaks him out of it by encouraging him that he's better off finding his own style.
344* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Nagisa.

348* LovableJock: Sugino is Class 3-E's resident baseball player, and he's also fairly popular with his classmates for his good-hearted nature.
349* NiceGuy: He's noted to be a happy and friendly person and gets along with his classmates.
350* ShounenHair: To distinguish him from Isogai, Sugino's hair is shorter, a bit spikier and looks more generic.
351* ThoseTwoGuys: One of Nagisa's best friends and is almost always seen hanging out with him.
352* WeakButSkilled: He lacks the strength (and flexible shoulders) needed to throw fastballs as well as Arita, but his flexible elbows and wrists make for excellent control, which allows him to use technical pitches to great effect. [[spoiler:The epilogue shows that he has already grown into one of the best collegiate-level players in Japan, enough to be scouted by pro teams.]]

363
364A timid girl who is good in math and science but weak in Japanese and other languages. She has a talent for making poisons, medicines and other chemicals.
365----
366* AdaptationDyeJob: She has black hair in the manga and ova event anime, but lavender purple in 2015 anime adaptation.
367* BadassAdorable: Not to Nagisa or Kayano's level, but she ''is'' a capable member of Class 3-E nonetheless, and cute as a button.
368* BespectacledCutie: She's a cute and timid girl wearing glasses, and her talent for chemistry manages to get even Karma's attention.
369* BewareTheQuietOnes: Especially if she calmly offers food or drink.
370* BlindWithoutEm: Her uncorrected eyesight is 0.03. That is ''really'' bad. In the manga, her eyes become [[{{Emoticon}} 3s]] when she takes off her glasses.
371* BraidsOfAction: Her hair is styled in braids, though the action part rarely comes up.
372* BrutalHonesty: In her introduction chapter, she outright ''asks'' Koro-sensei to drink her poisons. He takes advantage of it to teach her that they would be fatal in real life.
373* CuteClumsyGirl: In her introduction in the ''Koro-Sensei Q!'' SpinOff, she is so inept she accidentally burned the Terasaka gang with a simple fire magic demonstration.
374* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapters 7 and, with Nakamura, Isogai and Kanzaki, 51-53.
375* FriendlessBackground: According to her character profile, she had no friends before joining class 3-E.
376* MadScientist: A teenage, G-rated version. Just look at her rather worrying smile when she's presenting her [[LaxativePrank "Victoria Falls"]], however. She'll show 'em!
377* MasterPoisoner: In training. While homemade toxins are her specialty, she really needs to work on her delivery. [[spoiler:In the epilogue, she and Takebayashi are now working on developing universal artificial blood, applying the same science Koro-sensei used to save Kayano after she was mortally impaled by the second "Reaper" during the final battle.]]
378* NoSocialSkills: She is awkward, timid and incredibly straightforward. Her method of trying to poison Koro-sensei was to walk up to him and ask him to drink her concoctions. Then, when Koro-sensei offered to tutor her on how to create a chemical mixture that would kill him, she took him at face value. It turns out that the concoction actually helped improve his fluidity. Koro-sensei uses this as an lesson for Okuda on why delivery (or communication skills) is also a necessity.
379* OddFriendship: With Karma, though not as strange as his friendship with Nagisa. She's the only girl in the class who doesn't find him scary -- in fact, she feels relaxed around him. In return, Karma doesn't feel the need to be cautious with her, and finds her to be the easiest girl in class to talk to and can usually tell her anything, as seen in Chapter 74 where he tells her about his insecurities over not knowing fear. The guidebook even refers to their friendship as the most easygoing of the male-female relationships in Class E.
380* ShrinkingViolet: Although she's slowly coming out of her shell, she's still very shy.
381* StereotypicalNerd: A NerdGlasses and twin braids wearing, ShrinkingViolet with NoSocialSkills (her being a combo of awkward, shy, and blunt) who comes from a FriendlessBackground and excels in math and science. She hits every marker for the archetype.

399* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapters 23-24, as well as 158 with Okano.
400* BelligerentSexualTension: With Okano.
401* TheCasanova: It doesn't take him long to start searching for a new girlfriend after getting dumped by the previous one.
402* ChildhoodFriends: With Isogai, according to the Class Roll.
403* ChivalrousPervert: He's TheCasanova, but he is overall a nice and honest guy.
404* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Whether brown or orange.
405* DoesNotLikeGuns: He finds guns troublesome to use and prefers knives.
406* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Isogai.
407* NiceGuy: Perverse streak aside, Maehara is a genuinely good-hearted boy, to the point of addressing his classmates without honorifics (which in Japanese culture denotes either great affection or disrespect). He is also one of the first few students to try to socialize with Karma, and holds Nagisa in great esteem ever since [[spoiler:he stood up in his and Kanzaki's defense by defeating Takaoka, who beat them up for simply objecting to his sadistic training regimen.]]
408* ObliviousToLove: In his pursuit of girls, he has little idea why Okano is [[{{Tsundere}} so annoyed at his habits]].
409** His obliviousness to Okano's feelings bites him in the ass later in chapter 158 where he accidentally hurts her feelings by unintentionally using her and himself as bait to lure Koro-sensei into a trap he and Okajima and some other students lay out for him without telling Okano about this beforehand, making her feel like Maehara was just leading her on and playing with her feelings...just as she was about to give Maehara her chocolates the day before Valentine's Day. Ouch.
410* PrettyBoy: The entire class agrees that he's very good-looking.
411* RedOniBlueOni: The Red to Isogai's Blue.
412* StrangeMindsThinkAlike: Besides Isogai, he is pretty friendly with Okajima on account of their perverted streak.

429* AlliterativeName: '''S'''ousuke '''S'''ugaya.
430* ArtAttacker: He attempts to use his art and disguise talents to assassinate Koro-sensei, without much success.
431* BookDumb: He's talented and excels at what he does best. However, when it comes to Academics Sugaya ranks alongside Terasaka in the lowest numbers among the class.
432* {{Delinquent}}: Averted. When he appeared with a henna tattoo on his left arm, everyone was worried that he became one.
433* MadArtist: He is not mad, but in Chapter 37, he uses henna mixed with Anti-Sensei material to try to kill Koro-sensei. However, the tattoo is extremely painful, so naturally, Koro-sensei decides not to sit still long enough to be killed by it. [[spoiler:In the epilogue, he was last seen arguing with his client over his interpretation of the latter's requested work.]]
434* MarkOfTheBeast: How he describes his henna tattoo in Chapter 37. When Irina shows up and sees that every student has henna tattoos on their arms, she is so shocked that she almost believes they are monsters.
435* MasterOfDisguise: He is skilled at making disguises and artwork, and is only getting better at it as the series goes along as he gets to practice with more materials and techniques.

446
4475th best marksmanship, girls' side.
448----
449* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: The Roll Book Time states that she finds herself comfortable around Nagisa, with hints of a crush, ever since he [[spoiler:stood up for her and Maehara by defeating Takaoka, who beat them up for simply objecting to his sadistic training regimen.]]
450* BewareTheNiceOnes: Not to same extent as Nagisa, but just because she is the gentlest girl in class doesn't mean she has no steel to her, as shown when she [[EyeScream backhandedly points a mechanical pencil over Sakakibara's left eye]] (and still smiling through it all) after he, Araki, Koyama and Seo run off their mouth against her, Nagisa, Isogai, Kayano, Okuda and Nakamura while they are studying in the library ahead of the first term finals.
451* ButtMonkey: Inverted, in that she tends to avoid being comically punished unlike her other classmates. Her misfortune lay with her tendency to attract unwanted attention, as shown in her discomfort while being hit on by Sakakibara.
452* CallingTheOldManOut: Her father is a strict disciplinarian who despises her attitude and prohibits anything he deems detrimental to her high status, to the point of yelling at her to change her attitude in a Volume 3 extra. This comes to a head come the Volume 4 extras, when her father chews her out (again) and demands she pursue a career in law, to which she responds by [[FlippingTheBird flipping him off]] and declaring she is already dead-set at becoming a nurse, all with a calm smile on her face.
453* ChekhovsHobby: Her gaming skills prove to be a great asset during [[spoiler:the civil war game]], as her expertise knowledge of shooter games [[spoiler:helped her take out Chiba, Okaijima and Sugaya without much struggle. Even Karma admitted that he didn't foresee her abilities before taking her out.]]
454* ClassPrincess: She is very pretty, which, unfortunately, attracts thugs to her, and has a sweet, graceful demeanor. However, she has a hidden rebellious side to her, where she constantly visited arcades and ignored her studies to spite her father.
455* DamselInDistress: She is kidnapped by older delinquents in the Kyoto arc, alongside Kayano, and receives most of their rape threats. She is also pimp-slapped to the ground by Takaoka, as the final act of dog-kicking which drives Class 3-E to outright rebel against him.
456* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapters 15-17, as well as, with Nakamura, Okuda and Isogai, 51-53.
457* DissonantSerenity: She can keep a smile even after doing some intimidating things, such as pointing a mechanical pencil over Sakakibara's eyes and [[spoiler:sniping Chiba, Okajima and Sugaya during the civil war game.]]
458* DudeMagnet: Out of all the girls in the class, she has the most guys take a liking to her. She piqued the interest of the thugs from the Kyoto Arc and Class 3-A's Sakakibara took his sweet time flirting with her. Among her classmates, Sugino is blatantly in love with her, and Mimura and Yoshida really like her as well.
459* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Well, Kayano does at least, immediately approving of her being made a part of their Kyoto trip group with a faint blush on her face.
460* GamerChick: She's a master at BulletHell arcade games, while never losing her YamatoNadeshiko demeanor. It's deconstructed, in that she got so good at video games by shirking her studies to rebel against her parents, and that's how she ended up in Class 3-E.
461* HospitalHottie: Her goal is to be a nurse or caregiver. The Roll Call Book reveals that this stems from tending to her paternal grandmother (while her father was too busy with his work as a lawyer). [[spoiler:In the epilogue, she is now taking care of Matsukata, the cram school teacher whose school Class 3-E helped refurbish and revitalize as an apology for accidentally injuring him during practice.]]
462* IKnowMortalKombat: Her expertise at shooter games prove beneficial to her real-life marksmanship.
463* LadyOfWar: She's probably going to wind up being this by the time she's grown up a bit. Specializing in handguns and short-range weaponry with oodles of grace and refinement, in her case. She's not far from being one already, as it stands. This was best shown [[spoiler: during the civil war game where she singlehandedly took out Chiba, Okajima and Sugaya in a consecutive slaughter, requiring Karma to personally intervene in order to stop her]].
464* NaginatasAreFeminine: She [[ItMakesSenseInContext uses a naginata in the literature exam]] as the YamatoNadeshiko she is.
465* {{Miko}}: Her outfit during Koro-sensei's class memories photograph session is the standard red and white of a shrine maiden, also befitting such a YamatoNadeshiko as her.
466* NiceGirl: When the boys voted on which girl was the most attractive, she came first, citing both her beauty and gentle personality.
467* {{Ojou}}: She comes from what is implied to be a high-class family in which status is everything.
468* ProperTightsWithASkirt: She wears this with her school uniform to highlight her modesty.
469* RavenHairIvorySkin As part of her YamatoNadeshiko appearance is her dark hair and pale skin.
470* SilkHidingSteel: Kanzaki may look like the sweetest and least physically capable of the girls, but she definitely shouldn't be underestimated. Case in point, [[spoiler:during the civil war game she manages to take out both Chiba, Okajima and Sugaya in a surprise attack using a paintball machine gun and pistol. All with a sweet smile on her face.]]
471* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: The reason for her crush on Nagisa boils down to "BecauseYouWereNiceToMe."
472* SoBeautifulItsACurse: Womanizers and thugs are unfortunately attracted to her looks.
473* StepfordSmiler: After falling to Class 3-E, she became depressed because her teenage rebellion led her to fail her family. Thanks to [[PsychologistTeacher Koro-sensei]] she got better.
474* YamatoNadeshiko: She is noted for her grace, helpfulness and reliability, and is very popular among the male students. As is customary, she also has some steel to her as well. She was the second student to stand up to [[spoiler:Takaoka]] ''after'' he revealed his true nature by beating up Maehara.

487
488Best knife work (tied), girls' side.
489----
490* AcademicAthlete: Besides being an academic achiever, Kataoka is also an excellent swimmer. The only reason she drops into Class 3-E is because she was a victim of TakingAdvantageOfGenerosity.
491* BigLittleSister: The Graduation Book Time reveals that she had a slothful older brother, whom she had to take care of constantly, including buying him "presentable" clothing, which may explain her reliable personality.
492* BridalCarry: According to her character profile, she longs to be given one. Unfortunately for her, the rest of the girls in the class misunderstood her and thought she longed to ''give'' one to somebody, so they all lined up in front of her asking for one.
493* ChickMagnet: A ''very'' reluctant example at that much to her chagrin. Kataoka has better luck attracting girls than she does guys thanks to her personality. In fact, ''she'' got the most number of chocolates received on Valentine's Day[[labelnote:Explanation]]In Japan, it's tradition for the girls to give the boys chocolates on Valentine's Day instead of the other way around. Kataoka receiving chocolates at all is a testament to her [[EvenTheGirlsWantHer popularity with girls]][[/labelnote]], beating out all the boys in Class E including Karasuma and Isogai (and Koro-sensei)by receiving a whopping total of eighteen chocolates[[note]] By comparison, [[https://68.media.tumblr.com/699267d76c0ca0185ce694f251b466e0/tumblr_odqkq6uRpT1rg44i6o2_r1_1280.jpg those three only received fourteen, ten, and thirteen chocolates respectively (with one of Karasuma's being a dinner by Irina instead of chocolates and with nearly all of Koro-sensei's chocolates being poisoned)]][[/note]] given to her by eighteen different girls, something she really wasn't happy about at all.
494* ClassRepresentative: Together with Isogai.
495* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapters 44-45.
496* DistaffCounterpart: To Isogai. Both are {{Class Representative}}s of 3-E, are nice and helpful, good in basically everything, very popular and are ''ikemen'' (despite Kataoka being a girl).
497* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: A flashback shows that a female student gave her a love letter. Kayano has some affection for her, and Kokona likes her enough to [[FanDisservice lick her hand]]. The guidebook even states that Yada has a crush on her.
498* ExtremeDoormat: Started out like this, to the point of refusing to react to Tagawa's emotional blackmail. Koro-sensei warns her against persisting into so parasitic a relationship by showing her a comic strip about a submissive housewife who sticks through her abusive husband.
499* {{Foil}}: To Nagisa regarding their athletic abilities. Nagisa is noted to have physical strength equal to a girl, while Kataoka has the athletic conditions of boys.
500* GrewASpine: The focus of her CharacterDevelopment, courtesy of Koro-sensei.
501* {{Ikemen}}: Kataoka is a girl, but other characters describe her as such.
502* InSeriesNickname: "Ikemegu" (from "ikemen") and "Megumegu" by Kokona.
503* TheLeader: A Type II/IV hybrid. Like Isogai, she's charismatic and helpful, but she's also noted for having good command and leadership skills.
504* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Kataoka's opinion about herself, in contrast to effeminate Nagisa. She is already pretty beautiful (especially with her hair untied), but she frequently thinks she's still not feminine enough, and at one point Koro-sensei caught her trying on cute, "princess-like" outfits.
505* MuscleAngst: Downplayed and PlayedForLaughs. She has a definitely feminine build, but a Volume 12 extra shows her lamenting how she's grown so strong from all the training that Nagisa (who has the strength of an average schoolgirl) cannot make her budge during an arm wrestling match (even with both hands).
506* NiceGirl: She's a very helpful student with a nice personality, but, in contrast to Isogai, she had a [[ExtremeDoormat problem with refusing offers]].
507* NotSoStoic: Usually one of the more serious students, but sometimes she can't keep her cool.
508* StatuesqueStunner: She is the tallest girl in the class at 170cm (5'7") and is quite beautiful, too, especially when she lets her hair down.
509* TakingAdvantageOfGenerosity: She spent so much time helping another student study (because of emotional blackmail) that she fell behind in her weaker subjects and landed in Class 3-E. [[spoiler:After Koro-sensei and others helped her get out of it, she was back on the right footing.]]
510* {{Tomboy}}: To the point that people describe her as an ''ikemen'' ("cool/good-looking guy").
511* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She wants to receive a BridalCarry and is concerned about not being feminine enough.
512* TomboyishPonytail: Her hairstyle.

529* AmbiguouslyBi: Has shown interest in boys and swoons over Karasuma like the rest of the Class E girls, but she also has some pretty strong feelings for Kataoka.
530* BuxomBeautyStandard: During the Kyoto Trip arc, the boys rank Yada as the second most popular girl after Kanzaki on account of her boobs.
531* CoolBigSis: The Roll Book Time reveals that her grades slipped due to frequently skipping classes to look after her chronically-ill younger brother.
532* CrazyPrepared: Learning from Irina, she starts carrying around different organizations' badges just in case.

537* FilleFatale: She is the most focused girl when attending Irina's courses on infiltration (as in charming, entertaining and negotiating), which she intends to use in the future.
538* HiddenBuxom: She is noted to have E-Cups, but we never see ''how'' busty she is until Chapter 150's cover art featuring her, Kanzaki [[BreadEggsMilkSquick and Koro-sensei]] in bikinis.
539* HiddenDepths: The Roll Book Time reveals that she used to be in the varsity tennis team (with Isogai), which explains her skill at melee combat.
540* HoneyTrap: G-rated version, but she did learn how to charm people from Irina. She usually takes care of the role of negotiator on Class 3-E's missions.

558* BitingTheHandkerchief: When eavesdropping on Karasuma and Irina's "date", she's shown doing this while weeping melodramatically. Happens again on Chapter 110, this time with no handkerchief.
559* CovertPervert: Sleazy behavior from the guys amuses her more than anything.
560* TheCutie: Kurahashi is one of the smallest members of Class 3-E at 149cm (4'10"), being only barely taller than Kayano and Okano, and her sweet, innocent, childlike looks and personality make even the most socially inept of her classmates (such as Hayami, Terasaka and Hazama) feel at ease around her. When the girls' popularity with the boys was ranked, she came in 3rd, losing out only to Yada and Kanzaki.

567* HotForTeacher: She has a crush on Karasuma, though Nakamura points out that all of the girls like him a bit.
568* LittleMissSnarker: Just because she is TheCutie of Class 3-E doesn't mean she cannot let out some verbal barbs and still look no less cute, as shown when she lays her hands on a pricey white-eyed Miyama stag beetle.

570'''Nagisa, Sugino, Maehara and Okajima:''' (enthusiastically raises their hands) "''Me!''"
571* NiceGirl: Kurahashi is one of the sweetest and most popular girls in the class. She has a sort of calming effect whenever she's around, and even the most socially inept of her classmates can't help but be at ease whenever she talks to them.
572%%* PrecociousCrush: On Karasuma.
573* SpannerInTheWorks: PlayedForLaughs during summer break (Chapter 56 / Season 1 Episode 17) -- Okajima's plan to trap Koro-sensei in an anti-sensei net with a stack of porn magazines as bait would've worked well but for Kurahashi coming in to cheer his finding of a rare white-eyed [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucanus_maculifemoratus Miyama stag beetle]] (though it still wouldn't have worked, regardless, as he already detected that it was a trap).
574* ThoseTwoGirls: Frequently shown alongside Yada on group shots.
575* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The Girly Girl to Yada's Tomboy.

586A stoic, serious girl who quickly stood out as the class' best female marksman. Similar to Chiba, she fell into Class 3-E after her grades slipped after being relied on by the students in the main building.\
587
5883rd best knife work (tied), girls' side.
589----
590* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In the first few chapters she had a much milder personality, smiling and chatting with other students normally. It was only later on that she developed into TheStoic.
591* ColdSniper: Hayami has the best marksmanship among the girls, and possibly the coldest, most businesslike student.
592* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapter 68, along with Chiba.
593* DistaffCounterpart: To Chiba. They're both stoic sharpshooters who fell into Class 3-E for the same reasons.
594* ExtremeDoormat: She never gives any excuses or complaints, as revealed by Koro-sensei.
595* GirlishPigtails: Since the Assassination Island arc. Apparently she hated how much she looked like Irina when it was down.
596* HeroicBSOD: After her failure to kill Koro-Sensei during the Assassination Island Arc.
597* HiddenDepths: Her hobby is jazz dance, and the Roll Book Time explains that it's the reason why she has such great dexterity and kinetic vision.
598* HumanizingTears: The usually cool-headed Hayami sheds tears for [[spoiler:Koro-sensei as he is disappearing after she, Chiba and all of Class 3-E finally assassinate him, later weeping bitterly in the aftermath.]]
599* KindHeartedCatLover: She apparently has a secret soft spot for cats. In one of her rare NotSoStoic moments, she's seen happily cuddling a kitty, as seen in one of the photos Koro-sensei secretly took of his students.
600* MinorLivingAlone: The Graduation Book Time reveals that not only is she an only child, but her parents are frequently absent due to work since she was a ''first-grader'', which is also implied to be the roots of her cool-headed disposition.
601* PlatonicLifePartners: When not considering the ShipTease, she and Chiba are this. They have mutual respect for each other, and even after Graduation they still keep in close contact. In a short epilogue, Hayami is even helping Chiba run his Architect business.
602* TheQuietOne: Hayami doesn't talk often, and her few conversations are straightforward and to the point.
603* TheStoic: She is the most calm and most serious girl. Even when a bullet nearly hits her head, she tries not to freak out. She's also one of the few students with few exaggerated facial expressions.
604** NotSoStoic: On the other hand, she reserves her facial exaggerations towards Koro-sensei's shenanigans, and [[spoiler:is seen openly crying after Class 3-E finally kills Koro-sensei.]]
605* SugarAndIcePersonality: She's stoic and reserved, but deep down she's a sweet kid who cares for her classmates, especially Chiba. Oddly, [[LovableSexManiac Okajima]] and [[{{Otaku}} Takebayashi]] label her a {{Tsundere}}.
606* TakingAdvantageOfGenerosity: It's revealed that she was a victim of this like Kataoka, and that's why she dropped into Class 3-E.
607* TsurimeEyes: She has notably sharp eyes to reflect her serious personality. They're probably the reason she's labeled a {{Tsundere}}.

619A stoic, serious boy who quickly stood out as Class 3-E's best marksman. Like fellow sharpshooter Hayami, he fell into Class 3-E after his grades slipped after being relied on by the students in the main building.
620----
621* ColdSniper: Chiba has the best marksmanship among the boys, and is also one of the most serious students, perhaps even more so than Hayami.
622* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapter 68, along with Hayami.
623* {{Expy}}: Of [[Literature/ToraDora Ryuuji Takasu]] (down to sharing [[Creator/JunjiMajima the same Japanese voice actor]]), being a good-hearted young man with an intimidating stare (which he chooses to cover with his bangs).
624* ExtremeDoormat: He never gives any excuses or complaints, as revealed by Koro-sensei.
625* EyesOutOfSight: His eyes are perpetually covered by his hair. The Roll Book Time mentions that he prefers to cover his eyes because he had a naturally intimidating and sharp stare that scared those around him. Ironically, this actually helps with his marksmanship, as each strand of hair demarcates a part of his field-of-vision, eliminating the need for gun sights. During a practice session against Karasuma, this earned him the alias "Dating Sim Emo Protagonist", because most VisualNovel protagonists sport a similar hairstyle. Rumor also has it that his eyes have been covered for so long even his own ''parents'' haven't seen them for a while.
626* GoodWithNumbers: His best subject is math, and he excels at spatial calculations. His sharpshooting prowess derives from his ability to make quick calculations of certain factors in the environment (e.g. wind speed) and the trajectory needed to ensure his bullet lands a perfect hit.
627* HeroicBSOD: After failing to kill Koro-sensei during the Assassination Island arc.
628* NoSocialSkills: Besides [[TakingAdvantageOfGenerosity abuse of his generous nature]], the Graduation Book Time also reveals that his failing grades partly stem from lack of communication with his teachers.
629* PlatonicLifePartners: When not considering the ShipTease, he and Hayami are this. They have a strong respect for one another, and they managed to stay in close contact in College. In fact, when Chiba decides to open his own architect business, Hayami is the one supporting and working with him.
630* TheQuietOne: He speaks even less than Hayami.
631* SpearCounterpart: To Hayami. They're both stoic sharpshooters who fell into Class 3-E for the same reasons.
632* TheStoic: He is one of the calmest, most serious boys. So much so that his relationship with his parents suffered because he never showed them how he was feeling, and it's implied that his previous classmates never realized how much they were overloading him. He's also one of the few students with no visible facial exaggerations.
633* TakingAdvantageOfGenerosity: Like Kataoka and fellow sharpshooter Hayami, his grades slipped after being frequently relied upon by his schoolmates.

645Best knife work (tied), girls' side.
646----
647* BelligerentSexualTension: With Maehara.
648* CuteBruiser: Okano is the second-shortest girl in class at 147cm (4'9"), and she's also one of its most athletic kids, sporting a lithe frame and skills in melee combat only the statuesque Kataoka can match.
649* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapter 158. The BelligerentSexualTension with Maehara finally pays off.
650* EveryoneCanSeeIt: According to the Roll Book Time, she's not aware of the romantic nature of her feelings for Maehara, but her close friends, Kataoka and Nagisa, do.
651* EveryoneHatesMath: She's one of eight/nine students who are weak in math.
652* GreenEyedMonster: According to the Roll Book Time, she openly expresses jealousy to the beautiful and popular Kanzaki, making her uncomfortable.
653* KickChick: If she doesn't use her knives, she will use her legs. She is good enough to be able to tie knives onto her legs and attack normally as if she's still using her hands.
654* SheFu: She put her skills as a former member of the gymnastics club to good use. Okano uses acrobatic moves to defeat men who are stronger than her. [[spoiler:At the epilogue, she has joined a university athletics club and has been using the Class 3-E mountain bought by her and her classmates as their training ground.]]
655* TrickedOutShoes: Her shoes have hidden compartments where she can store her knives, complementing her kicking.
656* {{Tsundere}}: Supplementary material hints that she has a crush on Maehara and is extremely irritated by his playboy tendencies. His flings anger her to the point that she actually hit him over the head hard enough with her bag to knock him out in a SCRAP puzzle.

668Class 3-E's male class representative and an overall intelligent, athletic and good-hearted boy who comes from a very poor family. He was placed in Class 3-E as punishment for having a part-time job, which was a violation of school rules.\
669
6702nd best marksmanship, best knife work, boys' side.
671----
672* AcademicAthlete: He's excellent in studying and sports. The only reason he's in Class 3-E is because he broke the school rules by having a part-time job.
673* TheAce: The first half of Chapter 90 is basically dedicated to establishing how awesome he is at everything. He seems to be good at every single thing he does, be it combat or studies. Asides from that, he also works part-time to help his family, takes care of his younger siblings and is the male class rep of Class 3-E. No wonder he is regarded as one of the nicest and more trustworthy guys in the class, if not the whole series. Like Karma, he is also only in Class 3-E for other reasons than poor grades.
674* BadassInANiceSuit: As noted above, his combat skills are exceptional. He's also one of only two characters to wear the full school uniform, with both jacket and waistcoat (the other is Takebayashi).
675* TheCharmer: Part of the reason he is so successful at his part-time job as a waiter is because of his likable personality. He's so likable that he has female classmates and even middle-aged women doting over him. This is also the reason why [[BigManOnCampus his classmates don't resent him]] and refers to him as "Prince Charming."
676* ChildhoodFriends: The guidebook states he and Maehara grew in the same neighborhood and have been best friends since grade school.
677* ClassRepresentative: Together with Kataoka.
678* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapters 51-53, along with Nakamura, Okuda and Kanzaki, and more prominently, 90-94.
679* DisappearedDad: Supplementary material reveals that his father was long dead.
680* DistaffCounterpart: To Kataoka. Both are {{Class Representative}}s and of Class 3-E, are nice and helpful, good in basically everything, very popular and are ''ikemen''.
681* ExpressiveHair: Manga extras reveal that his hair antennae wilt when he's not feeling well, and upon noticing this his classmates make him rest. According to the [[AllThereInTheManual character book]] Mimura is even able to tell his current condition just by looking at his antennae.
682* FingerPokeOfDoom: When dealing with four particularly rude students in the library, Nagisa, Nakamura and Kanzaki all scare them off by holding pens or rulers against their necks. Isogai does the same, but with his index finger.
683* FriendlySniper: Just behind [[ColdSniper Chiba and Hayami]] in terms of skills with a gun, but [[TheCharmer considerably more approachable]].
684* GoldfishScoopingGame: He tries this in a booth during a local summer fest, and catches ''a plastic bag full''. He cooks the fish later on.
685* HairAntennae: He has a single one that's expressive. Some bonus art shows it's also apparently genetic, given his younger siblings also have it.
686* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Maehara, to the point that, according to the Roll Book Time, [[AllThereInTheManual he has full knowledge]] of the latter's dating history.
687* HonestCorporateExecutive: What he wants to be when he grows up.
688* {{Ikemen}}: Referred to as this by most of the girls in the class.
689* JackOfAllTrades: He's insanely good at doing anything -- academics, sports, cooking, leading, etc. Second to Karma, he also has the most well balanced-stats in terms of assassination skills.
690* TheLeader: Type IV. He's the second student considered as the leader because of his charisma and his helpfulness. Regarding his leadership skills, he uses the individual strengths of his classmates to benefit the whole class and he supports them when needed.
691* NiceGuy: He's a helpful, friendly and cheerful personality, and it's one of the reasons he's so popular even among the girls from the main campus.
692* PerpetualPoverty: In the ''Koro-Sensei Q!'' SpinOff, he was described as being so poor he can only afford half a whole-body armor set, leaving his back half-naked. He even found it more valuable to steal a bag full of goldfish from a goldfish scooping game and cook and eat them as food.
693* PrettyBoy: His classmates consider him the most handsome student in Class 3-E.
694* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue to Maehara's Red.
695* SocialClimber: Of the idealistic variety. Though he comes from a poor family, according to his profile he wants to own a business someday.
696* StrongFamilyResemblance: He has a younger brother and sister, but they already look pretty similar to him, complete with identical hair antennae.
697* SupportingLeader: As ClassRepresentative, he leads 3-E in intramural activities. The pole match between Classes 3-A and 3-E starting in Chapter 91 is basically a fight between him and Asano Jr.
698* SupremeChef: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]], since there are few instances where he is seen cooking, but it's part of the reason he's called ''ikemen''.
699* ThoseTwoGuys: Particularly in crowd shots, he and Maehara are almost always seen standing close or next to each other.

710
711A delinquent who is not very fond of the idea of killing his monster teacher. One of the more aloof students until he TookALevelInKindness. After finding the enthusiasm to kill Koro-sensei with the class, his talent for encouraging and motivating people was revealed.
712----
713* TheAtoner: After seeing the error of his ways, Terasaka decided to become a better student and classmate, to the point of shrugging off [[spoiler:a potentially fatal poison]] to help his classmates at the climax of the Assassination Island arc.
714* TheBigGuy: He does not have any talent in assassination, but in Koro-sensei's words, he has the amazing potential to become an operations-type assassin because he shines in physical strength and his ability to (and encourage others to) get things done.
715* BookDumb: Since Terasaka is the only student who is particularly weak in multiple subjects, Koro-sensei decides to [[ShoutOut treat him like]] IdiotHero [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Naruto Uzumaki]].
716* TheBully: He used his tall and muscular body to suppress other students without fighting. This bit back when his grades became so low that students in the main building became unimpressed with him, and now they bully him. He's still a bully, but not as bad as he used to be.
717* CharacterDevelopment: After nearly endangering his classmates' lives by bombing the class pool (at Shiro's suggestion), he decides to learn to become a better person.
718* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapters 46-49.
719* {{Delinquent}}: He's a troublemaker who didn't take his grades seriously during his first two years at Kunugigaoka. He was scorned by his former classmates for trying to get the other students to slack off instead of studying to stay out of Class 3-E.
720* DumbMuscle: Has a habit of doing things without thinking. Subverted, though, as he isn't really dumb, just temperamental and impulsive.
721* EasilyForgiven: Terasaka does redeem himself for participating in Shiro's scheme during the Pool Arc, but nobody seems to remember that time when he convinced Nagisa to become a suicide bomber. Fortunately, Nagisa brushed off the incident as water under the bridge when the attempt was later referenced by Karasuma.
722* EveryoneHasStandards: He is callous and rude, but even he draws the line at endangering the lives of his classmates by blowing up the pool they're in.
723* TheFatalist: Part of the reason he hated Korosensei originally had to do with this mindset. He ultimately bought into the propaganda that Class E is worthless and useless, so when he got sent there after not putting in the effort like the others outside of Class E, he'd largely given up on changing, thinking there's no hope for him or anyone in Class E, and that they may as well just have fun slacking off. Korosensei's arrival however gave everyone a goal to strive for, the ''hope'' that they could prove the rest of the school wrong, so he resented Korosensei for that. It's only after [[HeelRealization the incident with Shiro]] that he decides to stop thinking like this.
724* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan:
725** Karma punches him in the face after he hysterically tries to justify why he was being used by Shiro to blow up the pool containing the rest of his classmates.
726** Later, Terasaka has to hurl a [[spoiler:stun baton at Nagisa's head]] to snap him out of a potentially fatal rampage.
727* HiddenDepths: Coming from him, it's surprising that he wants to become a politician. [[spoiler:In the epilogue, his tenacity catches the attention of a prominent politician, who takes him in as apprentice.]]
728** He is also much better at connecting with others that what he seems. [[spoiler:He is the one that shakes Nagisa out of his UnstoppableRage, and also the one that convinces Itona to accept that failing is but another way of learning how to be successful.]]
729* HotBlooded: He often acts without thinking about a plan.
730* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He starts out as the relatively most unsympathetic student in Class 3-E, though Koro-sensei and Nagisa help him discover his good side.
731* MadeOfIron:
732** Gets hit by one of [[spoiler:Itona's tentacles]], but he's able to endure it. During [[spoiler:his second scuffle with Itona]], he doesn't just endure it. He catches it with his body and lands a punch in retaliation.
733** In the Assassination Island arc, he doesn't let anyone notice that [[spoiler:he was also infected by the virus]] and fights alongside the other remaining students due to his sheer [[{{Determinator}} determination]] to [[TheAtoner make up for what he did]] in the Pool arc.
734* TheMole: Briefly worked as one for Shiro so he could avoid drawing attention with his presence, only for him to quit in horror after realizing just what little regard for Class E's lives Shiro had.
735* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: He is visibly wracked with guilt and ''very'' angry at Shiro for tricking him into nearly killing his classmates on their joint attempt on Koro-sensei.
736* RealMenWearPink: [[spoiler:During the first-term finals, he gets a perfect score (and is tied for the top rank) in home economics.]]
737* RousingSpeech: After taking a dose of CharacterDevelopment, he becomes capable of delivering some of the most pivotal speeches in the entire series.
738** When [[spoiler:Nagisa prepares to make a hate-fueled, self-destructive attempt to murder Takaoka]], Terasaka snaps him out by warning him that killing him wasn't worth the consequences. Then he tops off his inspirational speech with, "Beat his ass just shy of killing him".
739** He's the guy who finally convinces [[spoiler:Itona to give up his tentacles, change his perspective on Koro-sensei's assassination, and ultimately save his life]]. He does this by making a speech on the importance of persevering despite repeated failures, which he delivers while simultaneously [[spoiler:punching Itona in the face.]]
740* RulesLawyer: [[spoiler:Well, it was never stipulated ''which'' subjects they should get first in, was it?]]
741* SmarterThanYouLook: Despite having the lowest grades in the class, Terasaka can be actually intelligent whenever he takes a situation seriously, such as observing Nakamura's penchant for ObfuscatingStupidity and assessing the potential of Class 3-E during [[spoiler:the final stage of the civil war game, just before the final duel between Nagisa and Karma.]]
742* SmugSnake: He tends to think himself as being more important than he is. And, that the best way for a peaceful life is to bring others down to his own level. This has been in the process of changing a bit since he's taken a level in self-realization, but can still happen at random intervals.
743* TookALevelInKindness: Since during the Pool arc, he is less aloof towards his classmates.
744* WakeUpCall: He's the last of the Class 3-E students to come around and be a better student and it was when he realised he was manipulated into endangering his classmates. Horrified by what happened, and after helping save their lives, he becomes a better student and person.

793->''"Well, I'm a fan of the printed word. So I want to be surrounded by books. It would be bliss if I could be a librarian at a huge library or something."''
794
795A delinquent girl who often hangs around with Terasaka and his friends. She has an interest in dark literature.\
796
7973rd best marksmanship, girls' side.
798----
799* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapter 127, where she is the writer of the school play.
800* AloofDarkHairedGirl: She's a bit distant from the rest of her classmates.
801* {{Bookworm}}: She likes reading dark literature. The pool arc shows her preferring to read books over swimming. Later, she offers Itona a seven-volume series that has over ''2,500 pages''... and she spoils the story before handing the books over. Unsurprisingly, she wants to become a librarian in the future, [[spoiler:which she apparently does come the epilogue.]]
802* CoolBigSis: Her reaction to the accident with Mr. Matsukata suggests that she sees her role as stopping Terasaka and the other delinquent boys from getting into really serious trouble.
803* {{Delinquent}}: She often hangs out with Terasaka and his friends.
804* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: Has black hair and light-colored skin.
805* {{Expy}}: Her appearance is similar to [[Literature/TheRing Sadako Yamamura]], sans the bangs.
806* HotLibrarian: [[spoiler:In the epilogue, the seven-year TimeSkip seems to have been ''very'' kind to Hazama, who actually got a beauty upgrade.]]
807* NamesToTrustImmediately: Subverted. Her name sounds cute, but she didn't become a cute girl like her mother hoped, mostly because her mother is hysterical.
808* NightmareFace: One of her hobbies is scaring the hell out of people (including Koro-sensei). Well, even without trying, she looks similar to Sadako. This is played straight in Chapter 145, especially on [[http://i.imgur.com/8KYuwWK.jpg this page]]. Though as of the latter half (starting Chapter 127), her face has mellowed out a bit.
809* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: Her script for the school play in Chapter 127 is so dark, it puts all the other students watching off their lunches. Her response? Glee.
810* OneOfTheBoys: If she is not alone, she will hang out with Terasaka's group. As seen in a panel in the end of the Kyoto arc, she seems to distance a bit herself from the other girls.
811* RedBaron: "[[NightmareFace Miss Test of Courage, Japanese Representative]]."
812* SignatureLaugh: Kukukuku.
813* SlasherSmile: Part of her NightmareFace.
814* StringyHairedGhostGirl: How she looks like. It's implied it's intentional of her part.
815* {{Troll}}: Why else would you go and scare people on the road at night?

827One of the better students in the class. His family has ran a hospital for generations, but his low grades made him into a BlackSheep.
828----
829* BlackSheep: His family has been running a hospital for generations, and his two older brothers are studying in Tokyo University, while he is in Class 3-E and isn't even accepted as a proper member.
830* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapters 77-79 and 156.
831* DemolitionsExpert: Becomes this for Class 3-E after [[spoiler:he chooses to return]]. Karasuma wants the class to learn more about handling explosions so they can utilize the technique much more safely, and requests that at least one student memorizes a mountain of information on the subject. Takebeyashi volunteers for the job.
832* EstablishingCharacterMoment: PlayedForLaughs with his first line.
833--> '''Takebayashi''': "2D is just fine. Real women don't need more dimensions than that."\
834'''Other students''' (''shocked''): "[[LampshadeHanging Takebayashi, do you seriously want that to be your first line]] in [[BreakingTheFourthWall this manga?!]]"
835* {{Expy}}: Of [[Anime/DigimonAdventure Jou Kido]] -- both wear glasses, are the {{Black Sheep}}s in a family of medical practitioners, and are pushing themselves to the limit because of it. He even has the same hairdo as Joe from the second season, when he started angsting about familial pressure.
836* TheGlassesGottaGo: Koro-sensei takes off his glasses for a couple of panels, and he's revealed to be pretty handsome without them. It helped that Koro-sensei applied VisualKei makeup on him and styled his hair fashionably at the same time, but he did look much better without them.
837* HeroicBSOD: During Chapter 156, after learning that [[spoiler:he failed to qualify for his first-choice high school, a prestigious academy with, according to Sugaya, a very low admissions rate.]]
838* TheMedic: During the Assassination Island arc, he helps Okuda with attending to [[spoiler:their poisoned classmates]], using his knowledge as scion of a family of medical practitioners. [[spoiler:In the epilogue, he and Okuda are developing artificial blood that can be donated to anyone.]]
839* NerdGlasses: He's a quiet, nerdy kid who wears large eyeglasses with opaque lenses.
840* OneSteveLimit: Averted; his first name is very similar to [[spoiler:Kotarou Yanagisawa, a.k.a. "Shiro".]]
841* OpaqueLenses: We never see his eyes through his glasses until the chapters 77 to 79 where he gets the focus.
842* {{Otaku}}: Prefers 2D girls as they don't need more dimensions than that. He also has a strange study technique: turning the information into an anime song parody!
843* TheStoic: One of the calmest and most serious students. He keeps his cool during the Assassination Island arc when [[spoiler:the other students are poisoned]] and handles the situation professionally.
844* TookALevelInBadass: Although he doesn't appear often in the manga, save for some epic one-liners, [[spoiler:destroying Asano Sr.'s plaque and delivering a badass one-liner to Asano Jr. established him are having more of a spine than he usually shows. Also, he is also the first student in Class 3-E to legitimately anger the principal.]]
845* TookALevelInJerkass: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. [[spoiler:He gets out of Class 3-E, and makes a speech that makes him seem like an UngratefulBastard. Then we learn that Asano Sr. required him to do that, and outside school he remains respectful towards his former classmates, while revealing that his family makes enough in a year that his cut of the reward for killing Koro-sensei wouldn't suffice to impress his parents, and all the students ''should'' be striving to leave the class. He even apologizes for it and wishes them well. Then in the end, he decides not to play along with Asano Sr.'s plans to discredit Class 3-E, and allows himself to be re-demoted to Class 3-E after destroying the latter's plaque.]]
846* WellDoneSonGuy: He wants his parents approval more than anything, which is the reason [[spoiler:he leaves Class 3-E and the assassination mission, only to go back once he realized that it's not worth selling out Class 3-E, the only place where he ever felt like he really belonged.]]

859----
860* BigEater: Her appetite becomes her strength in the sports festival.
861* ChildhoodFriends: The guidebook reveals that she and Yoshida are this because their families are close.
862* FriendlySniper: Boasts both a friendly personality and skill with firearms.
863* IAmBigBoned: Don't call her "fat"; even Terasaka draws a line at calling her that.
864* NiceGirl: One of the sweetest girls in the class.
865* TeamMom: Seems to be this. In the Assassination Island arc, she is able to calm down Yoshida [[spoiler:while being poisoned]]. Later chapters reveal that she wants to be a homemaker when she grows up.
866* SupremeChef: Best cook in the class, along with Muramatsu. The Tankobon extras mentions both of them going on a cook off in Home Economics, whipping up as many dishes as they can. Apparently it ended in a tie.
867* ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman: In the sports festival, she participates in the "bread eating race" game and wins.

878
879A girl with long red-blonde hair who excels in English. She has a mischievous personality.\
880
8814th best marksmanship, girls' side.
882----
883* AcademicAthlete: In Chapter 111, she claims that she got 100% on sixth-grade tests as early as first-grade. The reason she fell into Class 3-E was because she wanted to know how it felt like to be normal, so she started slacking off until her grades slipped naturally. [[spoiler:As of the second-term finals, she ranked third behind Karma and Asano Jr.]]
884* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapters 51-53 and 111 (along with Okuda, Isogai and Kanzaki), as well as 159.
885* DelinquentHair: Implied. In a {{flashback}} she had black, or at least darker, hair before she entered middle school and became more mischievous.
886* DistaffCounterpart: Where there is mischief to be found, she and Karma are often taking part together. She can also conjure demonic horns over her head the same way he does, and is also considered too smart to be in Class 3-E.
887* GenkiGirl: She's playful and energetic whenever she gets screen time.
888* HiddenBuxom: Despite sporting a D-cup, her bust looks much smaller when she is wearing her typical school uniform, but looks bigger when she is seen with a T-shirt or swimsuit (must be the sweater).
889* InnocentlyInsensitive: Her frequent teasing of Nagisa over his androgynous appearance becomes this when she finds out about [[spoiler:his mother, who enforced it because she wanted a girl, even though Nagisa himself hates it.]]
890* IJustWantToBeNormal: The reason why she's in Class 3-E despite being one of Kunugigaoka's most intelligent students. When she was younger she was the smartest in her class, getting perfect scores on all her exams, even those aimed at a much higher grade level. However, all Rio wanted was to know what it was like to get something wrong on an exam so she could talk about it with her classmates and have fun with them over their shared mistakes. So in order to feel more like an average student, she began to reject her studies and acted rebelliously.
891* LovableSexManiac: She is the most enthusiastic about dressing up Nagisa in feminine clothing, though she draws some lines.
892* LovingBully: It's implied that the reason she teases Nagisa is because she has a crush on him.
893* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: She often teases Nagisa for his feminine looks (and dresses him in girls' clothing), only to immediately regret her actions after discovering [[spoiler:the truth about his androgynous appearance]]. Not that this stops her from putting him in drag one last time when [[spoiler:Yuuji drops by for the school festival]], though. After that her treatment of him was resigned to just light teasing.
894* ObfuscatingStupidity: On one hand, she can play the role of Class 3-E's resident mischief chick. On the other hand, when the situation calls for it she can be quite straightforward. Even Terasaka started to wonder which between the two of them is the more outrageous kid in class.
895* ThePeepingTom: Subverted when she peeps in the men's bath and [[LovableSexManiac Okajima]] says that this is actually ''their'' job. However, it turns out that she wants to know what a naked Koro-sensei looks like, which may become helpful information in the future. It doesn't work.
896* PhenotypeStereotype: Downplayed. She's Japanese, but her dyed blonde hair and blue eyes give her a typical Caucasian appearance.
897* ShipperOnDeck: Ships Nagisa/Kayano, if only, like Karma, for pure amusement, though the Valentine's arc implies that she also had a [[AllLoveIsUnrequited doomed]] MatchmakerCrush on Nagisa.
898* StepfordSmiler: In the ending, [[spoiler:she bravely tries to face Koro-sensei's impending death with a smile during his final roll call; that facade soon crumbles in tears after he is gone for good.]]
899* VitriolicBestBuds: Seems to have this relationship with Nagisa, often seen hanging out with him and teasing him for his feminine appearance and having him DraggedIntoDrag (possibly because of their shared talent in English).

909A boy who is good in editing videos and is interested in film production.
910----
911* AirGuitar: He does this behind the school building where nobody can see, although Koro-sensei manages to secretly take pictures of him doing it.
912* CameraFiend: He is the resident filmmaker of Class 3-E, which was put to good use by almost single-handedly creating Koro-sensei's candid camera film during the Assassination Island arc meant to psychologically paralyze him long enough to entrap him into the class's most elaborate attempt yet.
913* CovertPervert: While not as blatant as Okajima, Mimura does have his moments of perversion and definitely shares his friend's interests in big boobs.
914* ADayInTheLimelight: He got a bit in chapter 108.
915* TheGenericGuy: He's interested in filmmaking. That's about it personality-wise for him.
916* OneSteveLimit: With Kimura.
917* ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman: Mimura's generic characteristics and filmmaking skills make him good at reconnaissance, as he doesn't stand out enough to get caught and he has a wide range of vision. 929The most openly perverted boy in Class 3-E.\
930
9314th best knife work (tied), boys' side.
932----
933* BadassBoast: See his quote above. Even his classmates are impressed by how serious he looked at that moment.
934* ButtMonkey: The anime throws him into this role, especially in Season 1 Episode 5, when he ends up running into every hazard there is on a trip down the mountain, as well as the Valentine's arc (Season 2 Episode 20), where he fails to receive obligatory chocolates from the girls.
935* BuxomBeautyStandard: He sees a love of large breasts as a bond between all men, including himself, Koro-sensei and Itona. It's a good thing he doesn't sit next to [[ACupAngst Kayano]].
936* CameraFiend: He usually wants to take hot pictures of girls and women.
937* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapter 56 / Season 1 Episode 17, parallel to Kurahashi.
938* DistractedByTheSexy:
939** In perhaps one of the most ridiculous reasons for slipping into Class 3-E, the Graduation Book Time reveals that back in eighth-grade he sat behind a female classmate whose bra kept peeking through, and he got so entranced by it that his grades slipped.
940** His plan to catch Koro-Sensei before the trip to Okinawa involves rigorous testing to figure out which type of porn will keep him most distracted as he springs a trap to drown him in Anti-Sensei [=BBs=]. Koro-Sensei sees right through the trap, but is still too distracted by the porn to leave.
941* EveryoneHasStandards: He's a pervert by admission, but when Koro-sensei is accused of stealing underwear and listing down the girls' cup sizes, even he is utterly repulsed.
942* EveryoneHatesMath: One of the eight/nine students who are weak at math.
943* FlatCharacter: he has little character except that he is a lustful pervert.
944* HatedByAll: because of his perverted tendencies, all the E-class girls are dislike on his, so he didn't get a Valentine's Day chocolate.
945* LikeFatherLikeSon: The guidebook states that his father is so perverted as him, and they even bond together over this characteristic.
946* LovableSexManiac: A self-proclaimed pervert who [[ThePeepingTom enjoys peeping]] and reading erotic magazines.
947* NakedPeopleAreFunny: At the end of Season 1 the girls decide to spend the remainder their stay at Fukuma Island having some beach fun. Okajima strips naked and tries to join in, only to be rebuffed by the girls while Nakamura remarks that he's so tiny "[[TeenyWeenie down there]]". Also, one of Koro-sensei's candid photos of the class has him [[{{Streaking}} running around naked]] on the school grounds at night.
948* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Okajima convinces the class to use their newly-learned LeParkour skills to get to school. In the end, he and Kimura accidentally break Matsukata's legs, which puts the secrecy of their assassination mission in jeopardy and makes Koro-sensei ''very angry''.
949* SeriousBusiness: As the resident pervert, he experiments on Koro-sensei's fetish for a month by secreting away porn magazines into the forest and using the "right" ones as bait for his trap.
950* TeenyWeenie: Nakamura mocks his size upon seeing him naked during the first SeasonFinale.

964----
965* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapter 89 / Season 2 Episode 4, where he angsts over his given name before Koro-sensei assures him that it's fine as it is.
966* AlternateCharacterReading: His name is spelled with the general spelling for "Masayoshi", but it actually reads as "Jasutisu" (Justice).
967* EmbarrassingFirstName: He is ashamed that his given name is "Justice", which often draws a lot of unwanted attention, which is why he tells everyone to call him by its AlternateCharacterReading "Masayoshi". The rest of the class doesn't seem to think it's that bad though.
968* GenerationXerox: [[spoiler:The Graduation Book Time reveals that, true to his name, Kimura ultimately follows his parents' footsteps as a police officer.]]
969* GunsAkimbo: In Chapter 89, when he manages to take down Karasuma in a shooting exercise.
970* HopelessSuitor: The guidebook claims that he likes Kurahashi, who has a PrecociousCrush on Karasuma.
971* LightningBruiser: He is the fastest runner in the class, able to do a 100m dash in 11 seconds flat, putting him in striking distance of the world record for someone in his age group. He uses his speed during the baseball match and during the Assassination Island arc.
972* NamesToTrustImmediately: Hey, it's "Justice"! Koro-sensei remarks how appropriate it would be for the kid named "Justice" to be the one who saves the world by by killing him.
973* OddNameNormalNickname: His name, Justice, is spelled with the kanji for "justice" but pronounced as the English word. He usually goes by Masayoshi, [[AlternateCharacterReading a name written with the same kanji]], due to his embarrassment over the GratuitousEnglish name his police officer parents gave him.
974* PintsizedPowerhouse: He's the second-shortest boy in class after Nagisa at 161cm (5'3"), which makes his speed and skill with knifework all the more impressive. His marksmanship isn't too bad, either, as he used his speed to defeat Karasuma during target practice.
975* WeNeedADistraction: Following one of Karma's plans, because of his speed he is called upon to lure a couple of guards away from their posts during the hotel infiltration. He turns out to be bad at it, sounding incredibly awkward while trying to provoke them.
976* WhoNamesTheirKidDude: [[StealthPun Justified]] (sort of) by the fact that his parents are policemen. The Graduation Book Time reveals that this also extends to his younger brother, named "Brave".

989----
990* ADayInTheLimelight: Got a little bit in Chapter 63.
991* BreakingTheFourthWall: She is the main abuser of this trope in the series.
992* {{Expy}}: Her talent and passion for detective work draws parallels with Yako Katsuragi, the protagonist of [[Manga/MajinTanteiNougamiNeuro the author's previous series]], complete with sharing [[Creator/KanaUeda the same Japanese voice actress]] and some of her quirks. The Roll Book Time even reveals that her height and weight almost matches Yako's (160cm/5'3" and 45kg/99lbs to Yako's 159cm/5'2" and 43kg/95lbs).
993* FantasySequence: Has one where she imagines Koro-sensei and Itona living together as children... in medieval times. They were separated from each other while fleeing an invasion. When asked why only one of them appears human, she {{Hand Wave}}s it as "a mutation".
994* GenkiGirl: She becomes especially excited when making up stories and relating scenarios to other mangas.
995* KidDetective: Her specialty is solving mysteries, which she can do with either quick deductions or more general research, as when she tracks down Itona's history.
996* MediumAwareness: Ultimately becomes the go-to character for dropping references to other manga and other fourth-wall awareness moments.
997* OtakuSurrogate: She reads a lot of manga, and is usually seen with a copy of the latest issue of ''Magazine/ShonenJump''. Because of it, she was [[AmateurSleuth able to identify]] [[spoiler:Smog (who was disguised as a waiter to serve the drinks that contain the virus)]] by a small glance.

1016* ArcVillain: In Chapters 20-22, where she tries to kill Koro-sensei but only succeeds in killing any possibility of her fellow students learning during class, ultimately leading to Terasaka taping her machine to prevent her from firing and disrupting the students learning.
1017* ArmCannon: Several, which she can freely customize inside her body.
1018* AttackDrone: Her body is a [[TheMonolith monolith-shaped box]] with a screen which displays her face. Contains several customizable firearms and her AI, which can analyze Koro-sensei's movements and adjust her attack pattern accordingly. Later on she also takes over control of Itona's aerial drones and uses them as ''her'' attack drones.
1019* AwesomenessByAnalysis: She's able to recalculate her firing patterns based on Koro-sensei's movements so that her next barrage of fire lands a hit.
1020* BadassAdorable: After her upgrades, she's still a killing machine specialized in firepower, but she has become absolutely adorable.
1021* BadassBoast: After blowing off Koro-sensei's index finger, she delivers this:
1022--> '''Ritsu:''' "The killing probability of the next shot is less than 0.001%. The killing probability of the shot after that is less than 0.003%. The probability that I'll be able to kill you by graduation is more than 90%."
1023* BadassTeacher: She personally tutors the girl who takes her place in exams.
1024* CharacterDevelopment: Hilariously done within three chapters, from an EmotionlessGirl to a GenkiGirl with her own will. It should be noted that Koro-sensei invokes this trope.
1025* ComputerVoice: Speaks in a cold, computerized monotone. Her tone becomes more friendly and less mechanical when her personality is upgraded.
1026* CosplayOtakuGirl: During the Assassination Island arc, she cosplays Ai from ''Manga/CatsEye''.
1027* CripplingOverspecialization: Ritsu may be an evolving machine capable of being a one-machine-firing-squad, with guns she can change the shape of at whim, but use some duct tape to keep the gunports closed and she's nothing more than a talking brick.
1028* DullEyesOfUnhappiness: Although she looked normal in the photo, her avatar had these in person before her upgrades. They were part of her soul-les killing machine vibe. After Koro-sensei's upgrades, her eyes are positively bright with vitality.
1029* EmotionlessGirl: Justified, she's a machine, and just didn't have emotions originally. However, it didn't last long, and she became a cheerful girl within a night, thanks to Koro-sensei upgrading her. She even cries now.
1030* EmpathicEnvironment: Invoked. After receiving Koro-sensei's upgrades, the background displayed on Ritsu's monitor correlates to her mood. By default, it's bright and sunny when she's in her usual cheerful mood. Dark clouds will form when she becomes sad, and rain pours down when she starts crying.
1031* ForeignExchangeStudent: She's from Norway, technically.
1032* FullNameBasis: Everyone called her by her full moniker, with a "-san" for good measure, until they just shorten it to "Ritsu".
1033* FunSize: Mobile Ritsu appears on smartphone displays.
1034* GenkiGirl: Post-upgrade, she becomes very cheerful and more sociable with the rest of the class.
1035* GrewBeyondTheirProgramming: Ritsu is designed as a learning AI-unit dedicated to assassination with a carefully simulated and bounded personality. However, thanks to Koro-sensei's upgrades and teaching, she rebelled against her creators (who wanted her to be nothing more than a mindless killing machine) and decided to become more sociable and kept all the upgrades she had received, making both intellectual ''and'' moral decisions on her own as the series progresses. [[spoiler:In the epilogue, she has become a fully-sentient virtual being surfing through cyberspace while further improving her own programming.]]
1036* GunsAkimbo: And she has more than two arms.
1037* TheGunslinger: She uses only guns, [[MorphWeapon and capable of changing their shape]].
1038* HeelFaceTurn: Originally a loner who tried to assassinate Koro-sensei without caring about the other students. After Koro-sensei upgraded her, and helped her recognize that working with the students was a more assured way of killing Koro-sensei, she is now one of the TrueCompanions.
1039* HollywoodHacking: She has high hacking skills since she is a AI. Her first demonstration of this skill is seen when she hacks and downloads herself onto each student's cell phone, giving them a mobile version of herself called "Mobile Ritsu".
1040** During the Assassination Island arc, she hacks into the secure system of the Fukuma Hotel Palace.
1041** [[spoiler: The God of Death turns this around on her mobile version, due to its lessened security.]]
1042* HumanizingTears: Invoked and PlayedForLaughs. She cries just to show how emotional she has become from her EmotionlessGirl state, after Terasaka insists that she is still just a machine. Kataoka scolds Terasaka for making her bawl her eyes out, and he admits that such a thing makes him sound like a total douche.
1043* InnocentBlueEyes: After her personality upgrade, her eyes turn from red to blue to reflect her shift from single-minded killing machine to cute GenkiGirl.
1044* InSeriesNickname: "Ritsu", since she has an OverlyLongName.
1045* IJustWantToHaveFriends: A minor version - the reason she rebels against her creators and keeps the program updates Koro-sensei gave her, even after her physical ones are mostly removed, is because she wants to work with her classmates and have a better chance at killing Koro-sensei.
1046* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://youtu.be/DWQTP6y2jUw "Ritsu"]], an upbeat electronica theme.
1047* LoopholeAbuse: Koro-sensei's agreement as a teacher directly states he is not allowed to harm any of the students; that agreement says nothing on whether or not the "student" is human or not. Koro-sensei later retaliates by upgrading Ritsu beyond her programming, which counts as teaching in his book instead of harming. This causes the definition of "harm" in his contract to be extended, to prevent Ritsu from being upgraded anymore.
1048** She later exploits this trope when her creators "reset" her. The procedure removed anything that wasn't correlated with assassinating Korosensei, but she autonomously decided that the ability for empathy and friendship with the Class E' students was absolutely vital for a successful assassination, and therefore non-removable.
1049* MatterReplicator: She is able to mold a special plastic inside her body into many different forms, even things like replicas of statues and flower bouquets.
1050* MachineMonotone: Part of being an EmotionlessGirl. And as being an actual machine, anyway. [[{{SubvertedTrope}} Koro-sensei gives her a much more natural voice so as to be more acceptable to the students]].
1051* MissionControl: Her role in the Assassination Island arc. An unusual example, as she is present with the other attack members all the time, just in her mobile form.
1052* TheMonolith: Her actual body is visually a black box with a screen and two hatches to the sides. During Koro-Sensei's upgrades, her screen is widened to show her whole body, but upon being "repaired" she resumes the smaller screen.
1053* MoreDakka:
1054** She uses shotguns and machine guns; due to the guns being connected to a supply of anti-sensei bullets, this means that she can fire them at max capacity without ever slowing down.
1055** This receives a bit of a deconstruction, in that when Ritsu first showed this off she pelted the other students more than Koro-sensei. This wasn't out of mis-aiming, but rather that, since Koro-sensei can move at Mach 20 in an enclosed space, it was all but ''required'' to learn how to hurt him. Since all she was firing were anti-sensei bullets, no bystanders were actually hurt, but it was enough that Terasaka taped her gun ports closed so the other students could actually ''learn''.
1056* MorphWeapon: Her guns are made from a type of plastic she forms inside of herself, though she's not limited to just making weapons out of it.
1057* MsFanservice: Unexpectedly so for a killer AI. Her physical form is stacked for a girl that's supposed to look like a middle schooler, and the ability to change her appearance at will is milked for all the CostumePorn it's worth. The Assassination Island version of the anime's second opening also features a gratuitous shot of her dancing in a bikini.
1058* MultiArmedAndDangerous: She is one of the most dangerous students and her main body has multiple arms.
1059* MundaneUtility: The students and Koro-sensei often use her state-of-the-art capabilities as a means to watch television.
1060* NerdGlasses: Her second ''Literature/SherlockHolmes''' cosplay.
1061* NewTransferStudent: In chapter 20, the politicians announced that two new transfer students would join the class. Ritsu is the first of the two.
1062* OverlyLongName: "Jiritsu Shikou Kotei Houdai" ("Autonomous Intelligence Fixed Artillery"), shortened to "Ritsu".
1063* ThePromise: Ritsu upholding her promise to shape flowers for the other students is what proves to them that she's not a mere machine, and that she survived the reboot her creators tried to foist onto her.
1064* RedEyesTakeWarning: Her eyes are initially red since she's nothing more than a cold killing machine at the moment.
1065* RobotGirl: A hilarious and original variation. Unlike other {{Robot Girl}}s, Ritsu doesn't have a humanoid body, but it's rather a huge box with weapons. Koro-sensei initially tried to give her a full LCD screen to make her seem more natural, but by default she simply has a screen that displays her face and little else.
1066* RobotNames: Her name is a phrase describing her function.
1067* ScreensAreCameras: We get a vision from her perspective a couple of times, and each time is from the screen of her main body. However, it's hard to tell if the trope is being played straight or if Ritsu genuinely has a camera inside her screen, considering all the other advances about her.
1068* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: This mostly associated with CostumePorn, and tends to be provocative at times, such as giving Sugaya an answer in class by writing it on her thigh, or stripping off in Chapter 150 / Season 2 Episode 18 to show [[spoiler:the results of her hacking outlined on her naked body.]]
1069* TechnoBabble: Justified as she's an AI, so she speaks the technical version of high-tech stuff first before she can learn somethign more along the lies of Layman's terms.
1070* TokenNonHuman: For the student body. She's an artificial intelligence controlling a monolith-shaped turret. Unlike [[spoiler: Itona]], she never was human to begin with and only uses a human-based avatar to be more relatable.
1071* TookALevelInCheerfulness: Goes from an EmotionlessGirl to a GenkiGirl thanks to Koro-sensei's upgrades. Her creators wanted to turn her from her cheerful personality to her emotionless killer machine again. However, she was able to save and hide her memories from them and retain her personality.
1072* UnlimitedWardrobe: She wears fitting costumes for every situation since she can alter her projection at will.
1073* UnskilledButStrong: Before she [[GrewBeyondTheirProgramming Grew Beyond Her Programming]], her only tactic was MoreDakka. That said, she could shoot many guns with pinpoint accuracy, and estimated that she had a 90% chance of killing Koro-Sensei before graduation.
1074* VoiceWithAnInternetConnection: Mobile Ritsu is this because she is speaking from someone's smartphone.
1075* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: Provides an interesting example.
1076** Koro-sensei initially saw her as just a machine, but after she proved capable of evolving to match his tactics, he took a genuine interest in making her a proper student at his own monetary expense. He even refers to her creators as her "parents".
1077** The students, like Koro-sensei, didn't initially see her as anything more than an annoying machine. Her upgrade by Koro-sensei helped with this, though the class was still split due to the fact that much of her interactions were just considered programming. It was only when she proved willing to defy her creators to keep her programming, something neither her creators nor Koro-sensei had programmed into her to do, or even how to do it, that everyone saw her as a student and ally.
1078** Her creators, however, see her as nothing more than a machine that will advance warfare and their own careers, caring nothing for the friendly and warm artificial intelligence that can actually hold conversations with people being developed within their war machine.

1087
1088->''"I might fail a hundred times, but I'll be sure to kill him before it's all said and done. You've got my back, right guys?"''
1089
1090The second transfer student who was sent to assassinate Koro-sensei. He's the superior assassin to Ritsu, and he's a creature similar to Koro-sensei who refers to him as his "brother".
1091
1092----
1093* AdaptationDyeJob: In the manga, he has platinum blond hair and light blue eyes, while the anime gave him light blue-tinted white hair and yellow eyes.
1094* ArcVillain: In his introductory arc (Chapter 29-32 / Season 1 Episode 11), then in the pool arc (Chapters 46-49 / Season 1 Episode 14), and his admission into Class 3-E (Chapter 83-87 / Season 2 Episode 3).
1095* AttackDrone: After joining Class 3-E, Itona starts displaying his electronics expertise by creating these, though mostly for reconnaissance rather than offense. [[spoiler:When the class had to fight their way through a highly-trained mercenary team and their almost superhumanly skilled leader, he uses several of these, which are piloted by Ritsu and use knockout darts.]]
1096* BrainsAndBrawn: He fights Koro-sensei with his enormous strength, while his handler Shiro makes the plans and preparations for his battles.
1097* BrokenAce: On one hand, Itona is one of the most dangerous students in class, having shown academic, combat and electronics expertise. On the other hand, [[spoiler:he bears a lot of mental trauma from being abandoned by his parents and manipulated by Shiro.]]
1098* BroughtDownToNormal:
1099** [[spoiler:Has his tentacles removed in chapter 87. After Shiro abandoned him, he no longer had the ability to recharge them, so they would have killed him otherwise.]]
1100** While he temporarily [[spoiler: retains his superhuman physical prowess after having his tentacles removed, Koro-sensei warns him that his body will eventually revert back to that of an ordinary middle school student.]]
1101* BrutalHonesty: He always says exactly what he thinks of people and will put no effort into sugarcoating his words. [[spoiler:After he joins the class and befriends Terasaka's gang]], he straight up tells Muramatsu that his ramen is disgusting and makes him want to puke.
1102* TheBusCameBack: Of course he comes back. Like in the Pool arc. [[spoiler:Or in chapter 76. And then finally in chapter 83.]]
1103* BuxomBeautyStandard: Like Koro-sensei, he loves big boobs.
1104* CainAndAbel: He's the Cain to Koro-Sensei's Abel, being a sort of "brother" to his teacher due to having been subjected to similar experiments.
1105* CastFromHitPoints: His tentacles give him great power to fight in par with Koro-sensei when the latter is in disadvantage, [[spoiler:but they need a lot of energy and cause immense pain and stress to his body and brain that he needs rare and expensive medicine on a daily basis to stay alive. The tentacles drain so much energy from his brain that he's unable to use his high intelligence and learning ability.]]
1106* CatchPhrase: ''"Sore dake de ii."'' It gets translated in a couple of different ways, but it generally means "That alone is enough." If he weren't a {{Cloudcuckoolander}} it would be more like a MadnessMantra.
1107* CharacterDevelopment: When we first meet him, he is focused on nothing but winning fights and defeating his opponents. [[spoiler:When confronted with the God of Death, he tells Terasaka they should surrender, because there's no way they could fight him and win.]]
1108* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: He just doesn't think like most people.
1109* CombatTentacles: He has the same tentacles like Koro-sensei on his head [[spoiler:until chapter 87.]]
1110* CovertPervert: He shares Koro-Sensei's love of large breasts, and Chapter 88 has him gladly go along with turning his remote-controlled mini-tank for assassinating the octopus into a tool for peeping on girls.
1111* CripplingOverspecialization: The tentacles, while providing him great strength and power, severely limit his intellect and decision-making prowess, forcing to him to attack mercilessly without any chance of overcoming setbacks. No wonder the planning was done completely by Shiro.
1112* DarkAndTroubledPast: His backstory reveals that [[spoiler:his family had a cellphone parts company which went bankrupt and his parents abandoned him. Shiro found him and implated the tentacle cells on his head.]]
1113* ADayInTheLimelight: [[spoiler:After his HeelFaceTurn]], chapter 88 focuses on his [[spoiler:integration in the class]]. He later gets a shining moment in chapter 94, [[spoiler:bringing his class the victory in boutaoshi.]]
1114* DeadpanSnarker: After [[spoiler:his HeelFaceTurn]], Itona trades in being a SmugSuper for instead dishing out more playful snark at his new classmates.
1115* DefusingTheTykebomb: Koro-sensei tries to accomplish this. [[spoiler:Later, he and the students have to in order to save his life. They succeed.]]
1116* {{Delinquent}}: [[spoiler:Is now hanging around with Terasaka and his friends.]]
1117* DemotedToExtra: He gets a few scenes after [[spoiler:joining Class-E]], but quickly falls into almost voiceless extra territory.
1118* DiscardAndDraw: [[spoiler:After removing his tentacles, restoring his higher brain functions, he becomes Class E's resident GadgeteerGenius, designing RC drones to use for both recon and assassination.]]
1119* TheDragon: To his handler Shiro [[spoiler:until being abandoned by him.]]
1120* DynamicEntry: Is first introduced by walking straight through a wall, demolishing it and then calmly taking his seat.
1121* EstablishingCharacterMoment: When he is officially introduced, he crushed through the wall and saying that he was victorious against the wall because he was stronger. That shows his obsession with winning.
1122* ExoticEyeDesigns: The most obvious sign of his inhuman nature. At first they had multiple rings, but by his second arc they had mutated into two pupils instead.
1123* ExpositoryHairStyleChange: To demonstrate his increase in strength, a part of his hair and his tentacles become black. The number of tentacles on his head are reduced in favor of fewer but stronger ones.
1124** [[spoiler:The tentacles get WhipSword covers but only for one chapter.]]
1125** His hair becomes significantly shorter after [[spoiler: his HeelFaceTurn]], which he covers up with a large bandana.
1126* FirstNameBasis: He is also one of the students who is called by his first name.
1127* {{Foil}}: [[spoiler:To Kayano, as they both secretly wield tentacles in an attempt to kill Korosensei, and they have them removed eventually. How they got their tentacles differ; Kayano got hers on her neck after she assumed Korosensei killed her sister, and Itona got his on his head after being experimented on by Shiro.]]
1128* FreudianExcuse: The reason why he is so obsessed with winning and and having tentacles is that [[spoiler:his parents abandoned him after their company went bankrupt, and his schoolmates bullied him for being a loser. That's why he accepted Shiro's offer to gain power to become a winner.]]
1129* GadgeteerGenius: Having learned the fundamentals of electronics [[spoiler:at his father's cellphone parts factory]], he demonstrates a knack for gadgetry [[spoiler:after losing the tentacles which were impairing his higher brain functions and joining the class for real]]. Put to comedic use when [[spoiler:his RC tank (which was meant for assassination) was outfitted with a webcam to help the other boys peek beneath girls' skirts.]]
1130* GeniusBruiser: Not at first, [[spoiler:but after he loses his tentacles, he shows a great deal of intelligence, as well as retaining excellent physical abilities.]]
1131* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:He officially joins the class for real in chapter 87, now being in Terasaka's group.]]
1132* HeirToTheDojo: [[spoiler:In the epilogue, Itona has returned to the family business, whose collapse forced his parents to abandon him, with the intention of restoring it, while counting on both Muramatsu and Yoshida, who, besides having inherited their respective family businesses, are also studying management in college, to help him in case he falls into dire straits.]]
1133* IJustWantToBeSpecial: [[spoiler:Due to being abandoned by his real parents (and later Shiro) he has (to use a quote from ''Manga/MedakaBox'') an "abnormal need to be abnormal", which helped him withstand the painful experiments Shiro performed on him. Unfortunately his strength is also what could kill him -- the tentacles use a lot of energy and if he doesn't let go of them and his need to be special, he'll ''disintegrate''.]]
1134* KryptoniteFactor: The same rubbery material that harms Koro-sensei harms him.
1135* MeaningfulName: Itona means "becoming thread", named because even the weakest material can be spun into strong thread. [[spoiler: After joining the class, he reflects on this and decides to finally live up to it by learning from his failures.]]
1136* NewTransferStudent: In chapter 20, the politicians announced that two new transfer students would join the class. Itona is the second of the two, who joins the class in chapter 29.
1137* ParentalAbandonment:
1138** [[spoiler:After he failed to kill Koro-sensei a third time, his guardian Shiro abandons him in the end of chapter 84.]]
1139** [[spoiler:His real parents abandoned him before he was discovered by Shiro due to their cellphone parts business going bankrupt.]]
1140* PerpetualFrowner: Of the focused and serious variety. He only shows the slightest hint of a smile once, and it may have been a trick of the camera angle. [[spoiler:After joining class E permanently, he gets to smile for real a bit more, but it's still very rare.]]
1141* PrehensileHair: Made of [[TentacleHair tentacles]], which he uses for combat.
1142* PutOnABus: Happens frequently to him, since his personality is unstable and Shiro tutors him at home.
1143* TheRival: To ''everyone'' in the class [[spoiler:until his HeelFaceTurn.]]
1144* RhymesOnADime: In the English Dub, Itona describes the difference between Karma and Terasaka with a poem.
1145--> "The wolf has eyes for prey, the cow has eyes for hay. One of them's a killer, the other his buffet."
1146* {{Samurai}}: In Ritsu's flashback, when both of them trained together, he was wearing a samurai armor and used a katana. He has never been seen like that again.
1147* ScarfOfAsskicking: A white, furry muffler. Sometimes he wears it into battle, sometimes he doesn't. [[spoiler:After joining the class, he ditches the scarf in favor of a bandana.]]
1148* SixthRanger: Itona is the latest student to join Class 3-E.
1149* SmugSuper: He looks down on the other students because he ''is'' stronger than them, as he is the only one who can fight Koro-sensei one-on-one. He gets better.
1150* TheStoic: His facial expression almost never changes, unless he's enraged by a defeat. Even after [[spoiler:having the tentacles removed]], he never shows that much emotion. Lampshaded by Karma, who comments that he really ''can'' talk after [[spoiler:he asks to skip class with him]].
1151* SupernaturalGoldEyes: In the anime, his yellow eyes hint he is not a normal assassin, as he soon reveals he has tentacles.
1152* SweetTooth: Has the same love of sweets as Koro-sensei. He's seen eating a whole pile of them before his showdown with Koro-sensei.
1153* TentacleHair: Itona has several tentacles implanted onto his head so he can fight Koro-sensei, though it's ineffective against the teacher. Later, the number is knocked down to three so as to focus on speed, but it's still unhelpful.
1154* ThereWasADoor: His classmates' reaction when he was introduced. He thinks otherwise about it.
1155-->'''Itona:''' "I... am victorious. I have proven myself to be stronger than this classroom's walls."
1156* ThousandYardStare: His default expression.
1157* TykeBomb: A young boy who has powers similar to Koro-sensei transfers into the class in order to kill Koro-sensei. His handler also follows him in because he's rather AxCrazy.
1158* UnskilledButStrong: His tentacles can damage Koro-Sensei (who can survive bullets and missiles), and they're fast enough to keep him dry during a storm. That said, his tentacles limit his ability to strategize when in use.
1159* UnstoppableRage: It's implied that he's uncontrollable if he goes berserk, so Shiro has to stop him before it happens.
1160* WalkingSpoiler: He's a major puzzle piece in the mystery part of the storyline.
1161* WeaksauceWeakness: He shared Koro-sensei's weaknesses, [[spoiler:including water.]]
1162* WhenHeSmiles: [[spoiler:Sports a gentle smile upon realizing he has true friends.]]
1163* WhiteHairBlackHeart: His hair is white in the anime and he is introduced as a dangerous and violent enemy.
1164* YouHaveFailedMe: [[spoiler:Shiro abandons him when he realizes he'll never defeat Koro-Sensei even with tentacles that use ''three nuclear powerplants worth of energy''. He goes as far as to use Itona as "bait" to keep Koro-sensei in one place and distracted while his team fires at them.]]
