She also expresses that while she finds her relationship with her mother "hard", she's doesn't hate her. However, since Emily returning into Trudy's life during her arc, their relationship has improved, although they are still separated.

During an argument with her spouse, she threw a book in the dark which accidentally knocked out Trudy and gave her a scar (which could have almost taken out her eye), then left her daughter and husband shortly afterwards. She does communicate with Trudy via Text from time to time and did call to make sure if she would alright meeting up with her before travelling to Canada to see her, so she is trying to make amends.
