The Mirror World counterpart of Meta Knight and the initial antagonist of ''Kirby & The Amazing Mirror'', he's the one who draws Kirby into the Mirror and splits him into four bodies, and also the one who shatters the Dimensional Mirror, forcing the Kirbies to go on a quest to re-assemble it. He seemingly serves Dark Mind.
-----
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler:Following his defeat in ''Amazing Mirror'', he was sealed away inside the Dimension Mirror for aeons, with no company in the maze but his own raw hatred and lust for revenge. By the time ''Triple Deluxe'' rolls around, he's been stewing inside the Mirror long enough for his negative emotions to [[TheCorrupter corrupt Queen Sectonia]] on the outside. His pause screen at the end of ''Dededetour!'' suggests that he was "revived" at the sight of King Dedede, since he now has someone to [[InUniverseCatharsis vent his anger upon]].]]
* ArtEvolution:
** Though Dark Meta Knight's design differs a bit from his counterpart — his mask has a scar on it, he has a torn cape, and he has a much more hostile expression — in ''Amazing Mirror'', he's simply a PaletteSwap due to graphical limitations. It isn't until later that his full design is seen in-game. Notably, he keeps his six-pronged fake Galaxia — the original Galaxia was redesigned to have only four prongs.
** His ''Star Allies'' design, reflecting Meta Knight's ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros''-based redesign, now has armored gauntlets and sabatons. He also has Meta Knight's emblem on his right shoulder plate, whereas Meta Knight has his on the left. Additionally, he's given tattered wings — to allude to his torn cape — and additional [[ScarredEquipment gouges and scratches in his armor]].
* AttackReflector: His Mirror-like guard shield can reflect enemy projectiles in ''Star Allies'', as do the barriers created by some of his sword attacks.
* BackToBackBadasses: [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/kirby/images/5/56/Shadowy_Partners.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20180727230547&path-prefix=en One of the celebration pictures]] depicts him alongside Daroach fighting off a swarm of Jambelievers, Jammerjabs, and Two Faces.
* BadassAdorable: Bizarrely enough, when he's made DLC in ''Star Allies'', he becomes this: the emotionlessly vicious doppelganger of Meta Knight suddenly starts engaging in the same bouncy, adorable "happy dance" characters do in victory and feature him in the [[https://i.redd.it/jrrcfa3i3gc11.jpg Guest Star 2 victory screen]] shamelessly (and [[TerribleArtist horribly]]) drawing his sword in crayon with friends. There's also the fact that he's a WaddlingHead of the same species as Kirby and Meta Knight, and has the exact same adorable face as both of them (as revealed when you break his mask after his first boss fight in ''Amazing Mirror'').
* BarrierWarrior: Par for the course for a mirror-based fighter. His up thrust and spin attack create temporary walls of mirrors that reflect destructible projectiles back at the enemies that launched them.
* {{BFS}}: His personal sword is average-sized like Galaxia, but in ''Star Allies'' [[spoiler:and ''Triple Deluxe'']], he can summon massive copies of his fake Galaxia out of mirror portals as powerful finishers.
* BigBad:
** Subverted in his first game. He attacks Kirby, splitting the hero into four copies, before defeating and trapping Meta Knight in the Dimension Mirror. The game builds up to a final showdown against him inside the titular Amazing Mirror; but once he goes down, his master [[spoiler:Dark Mind]] shows up and becomes the game's final boss.
** Takes up the role for real in [[spoiler:''Triple Deluxe'', as it has been confirmed that the Dimension Mirror (that he's trapped inside) is what corrupted Sectonia]].
* BlackKnight: He makes Meta Knight lighter by comparison, given that he's downright evil. [[spoiler:His Japanese pause screen in ''Triple Deluxe'' even calls him a black knight.]]
* BladeSpam: In ''Star Allies'':
** Like Meta Knight, he can do a flurry of slashes after the ThreeStrikeCombo.
** Instead of the rising spin attack, Dark Meta Knight has Dark Calibur — a flashy move in the vein of [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII Cloud Strife's Omnislash]]. It starts with a SwordDrag that [[{{Shoryuken}} rises into the air]], followed by a series of multi-directional strikes on caught enemies that end in a powerful blow to [[MeteorMove spike them back down]], which may [[GrievousHarmWithABody hit and damage other enemies on the way]]. This attack is notably a (former) [[SecretAIMoves Secret AI Move]] lifted directly from Meta Knight's own boss battle.
* TheBusCameBack: After having seemingly been finished off in the end of ''Amazing Mirror'', Dark Meta Knight makes a surprise appearance nearly 10 years later in ''Triple Deluxe'' [[spoiler:as one of its final bosses and one of the possible driving forces of the plot]]. He manages to do this again for his playable appearance in ''Star Allies'', having been absent for roughly four years since then.
* TheCameo: He appears as one of Circus Kirby's Balloon Pop Art shapes in ''Planet Robobot'', as well as a sticker. [[note]]In ''Triple Deluxe'', it was regular Meta Knight.[[/note]] He also appears in ''Battle Royale'' as one of Meta Knight's unlockable costumes. Oh, and he cameos in a minigame in ''Super Star Ultra''.
* CombatPragmatist: One of the biggest giveaways that it's not the real Meta Knight is that both times you fight him, he ambushes without any prior warning and will not give you a sword to even the odds.
* TheComicallySerious: In ''Star Allies'', in one of the ending artworks of Guest Star mode, he's shown drawing with the other Wave 2 Dream Friends. Let us repeat: ''a dark, evil knight, drawing with a cute artist girl, an equally cute fairy, and a nearly-as-cute mouse thief''. The fact that he is shown to be a TerribleArtist only makes it more hilarious.
* CompositeCharacter: As a Dream Friend in ''Star Allies'', Dark Meta Knight combines the swordplay of Meta Knight and the reflection/illusion attacks from Kirby's Mirror ability.
* CoolSword: Dark Meta Knight wields a grey version of Galaxia which has a blue gem and six prongs as opposed to Meta Knight's four.
* TheCorrupter: [[spoiler:To Queen Sectonia, albeit unwittingly. His hatred and desire for revenge was likely the cause of the Dimension Mirror's evil influence on Sectonia, leading to her insanity.]]
* TheCreon: In the Japanese version of ''Star Allies'', it's implied that his time as a {{Ronin}} after Dark Mind's defeat has weighed heavily on him, and that he still longs to serve a greater evil.
* DashAttack: In ''Star Allies'', he has the Sword's Drill Stab move, but he adds an uppercut that summons 3 mirror swords to the mix. The dash attack can also be continued into [[{{Shoryuken}} a rising spinning slash]] and then [[MeteorMove spiking the enemy back down with a downward mirror sword]].
* DeadPersonImpersonation: [[DownplayedTrope He didn't exactly ''kill'' Meta Knight]] (he simply trapped him in the Dimension Mirror), but in his debut, Dark Meta Knight {{palette swap}}s as him for his first battle. When he does this again at the end of the game, the real Meta Knight emerges to expose him.
* DivergentCharacterEvolution:
** In ''Amazing Mirror'', Dark Meta Knight simply used the same moves as Meta Knight. [[spoiler:In ''Triple Deluxe'', he has a bevy of new attacks, some of which were inherited from Galacta Knight and all using chunks of broken mirror.]] In ''Star Allies'', they only share the most basic fundamentals of the Sword ability; Dark Meta Knight received a slew of unique attacks, and many of his shared attacks are still differentiated from Meta Knight's in [[{{BFS}} meaningful]] [[AttackReflector ways]].
** This also applies to his design. Originally nearly identical to Meta Knight (to the point where he only had to change his colors to disguise as him), artwork for the game and later appearances would give him many distinguishing features beyond the gash in his mask given to him by his counterpart. His visor is thinner, his cape is tattered, and his Galaxia is silver with a blue gem. ''Star Allies'' would later give him even more details, such as numerous scratches on his mask, orange eyes rather than Meta Knight’s yellow, tattered wings, his icon being on his right shoulder (mirroring Meta Knight’s icon being on his left shoulder), and his Galaxia retaining its six prongs, whereas Meta Knight’s Galaxia had been redesigned to have four prongs.
* DoppelgangerAttack: [[spoiler:In ''Triple Deluxe'', Dark Meta Knight creates mirror clones of himself once he TurnsRed.]] In ''Star Allies'', he uses mirror images of himself in his attacks.
* DoppelgangerSpin: [[spoiler:In ''Triple Deluxe'', Dark Meta Knight brings in two clones to assist him in his second phase, and uses BackgroundBoss tactics so you can’t hit everyone at once. Each clone breaks after a single hit, but they shatter into homing mirror shards.]]
* TheDragon: To Dark Mind in ''Kirby & the Amazing Mirror''.
* DragonAscendant: After Dark Mind is gone, [[spoiler:he takes control of the Dimension Mirror, as revealed in Dededetour!]].
* TheDreaded: In the Japanese version of ''Star Allies'', even the narrator seems afraid of him.
-->''Was he reformed by the power of the hearts? *doki doki*''
* EmergingFromTheShadows: The fight against him in Radish Ruins of ''Amazing Mirror'' starts as this; he appears as a colorless shady figure, then he becomes suddenly colored and proceeds to strike toward you ''without'' [[HonorBeforeReason giving you a sword]]. This is the first sign he's not the real Meta Knight.
* EvilerThanThou: Even though Queen Sectonia is the BigBad of ''Triple Deluxe,'' Dark Meta Knight proves to be a bigger threat than her, [[spoiler:[[TheCorrupter corrupting her mind]] through the Dimension Mirror with [[ThePowerOfHate his pent-up fury]] and even appearing as the final boss of "Dededetour!"]].
* EvilTwin: To the real Meta Knight, obviously.
* EvilVersusOblivion: His Japanese Guest Star pause screen in ''Kirby Star Allies'' contains the line "drawn out by the galaxy's distant darkness, the shadow from the Mirror World flies". This is notably a parallel to Meta Knight's Guest Star pause screen, which contains the line "sensing the distant darkness, this mysterious knight flies". Both lines seem to allude to [[spoiler:Hyness's attempts to summon Void Termina]]; it suggests that Dark Meta Knight, while still unabashedly evil, shares his moral code with Meta Knight.
* FighterMageThief: The Fighter to Adeleine's Mage and Daroach's Thief in ''Star Allies.'' He's a ruthless warrior who has a lot of hard-hitting slashing moves from his sword, along with some mirror-based powers.
* FinalBoss: Is the first part of the final battle in ''Kirby and the Amazing Mirror''. [[spoiler:He's also the third and last of the final bosses of the extra mode of ''Triple Deluxe'', "Dededetour!".]]
* ForceAndFinesse: The Force to Meta Knight's Finesse, which is apparent by his [[ScarredEquipment damaged armor]] and how reckless his attacks are. For example, Meta Knight's dash jump and underwater attack in ''Star Allies'' is a graceful spin, while Dark Meta Knight's is a pair of wild slashes. The latter also complements his attacks with mirror powers for extra force.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Evil, obviously; it's not so much a bodily scar as it is a scar across his mask, around his left eye — whether it continues down to his face is unknown (though his model in Star Allies suggests that it doesn't; [[https://twitter.com/Fruib_/status/1022892667259248652 his face is exactly the same as Meta Knight's]]). Not visible on his game sprite, but is present in his official artwork [[spoiler:and finally seen in-game in ''Triple Deluxe'']]. In ''Star Allies'', it seems shallower to avoid the question of [[FridgeLogic why we can't see more of his left eye when it crosses behind the chipped mask]], but it's still the deepest, darkest blemish of his ScarredEquipment.
* GreaterScopeVillain: [[spoiler:Of ''Triple Deluxe'', possibly. After Dark Mind's defeat, he seems to be the entity in control of the Dimension Mirror now. His intense hatred and desire for revenge are likely to be the cause of the mirror's corrupting influence on Queen Sectonia, which would make him responsible for her insanity. He's only fought in Dededetour, which could be thought of like a "what if" scenario, but the corrupting part — as confirmed by the developers — makes him one.]]
* InUniverseCatharsis: [[spoiler:The Japanese and Korean versions of ''Triple Deluxe'' say he was "revived in order to take his revenge" when Dedede shows up inside the Dimension Mirror. Since Dedede [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome didn't appear]] in Dark Meta Knight's first game, this implies Dark Meta Knight may have used the king as an [[MisplacedRetribution outlet]] for his anger.]]
* LaserGuidedKarma: At the beginning of ''Amazing Mirror'', Dark Meta Knight seals his good counterpart inside the Dimension Mirror by breaking it into eight shards. He ends up suffering the same fate at the end of the game, [[spoiler:and gets sealed in the mirror again in the exact same way by King Dedede at the end of Dededetour!]].
* LeakingCanOfEvil: [[spoiler:Though he's technically sealed away inside the Dimension Mirror, his [[ThePowerOfHate hate and anger]] at this situation gradually turned Queen Sectonia into a [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen tyrant]] as she stared into the mirror.]]
* LegacyBossBattle: [[spoiler:One of the secret bosses in ''Triple Deluxe''.]]
* LiterallyShatteredLives: When Dark Meta Knight is defeated, he breaks apart into pieces like a mirror; this even happens in his playable appearance in ''Star Allies'', replacing the DeathThrows everyone else goes through. [[spoiler:After Dark Meta Knight's defeat in ''Triple Deluxe'', King Dedede smashes the Dimension Mirror to pieces with him in it.]]
* MagicKnight: Unlike Meta Knight, who relies on his skills as a master swordsman and a few [[BlowYouAway wind/wing-based attacks]] for the most part, Dark Meta Knight gains a magic-oriented moveset over his appearances; in addition to tornado powers, he creates clones of himself that act independently, summons mirror portals that shoot out gigantic swords, spawns reflective mirrors with many of his attacks, and uses shadow magic to create {{Sword Beam}}s or damaging mirror images of himself. Even as early as ''Amazing Mirror'', his sword was able to split Kirby into four copies with one slice.
* MagicMirror: In [[spoiler:''Triple Deluxe'' and]] ''Star Allies'', he uses magical mirror powers (such as SelfDuplication, AttackReflector, and [[SpectralWeaponCopy summoning swords]] [[ThinkingUpPortals through mirror portals]]) alongside his sword attacks. His guard allows him to retreat into a mirror, negating all damage and reflecting weak projectiles, but he can't roll or dodge out of it like other characters.
* MisplacedRetribution: Although [[spoiler:King Dedede]] was not responsible for his defeat at the end of ''Amazing Mirror'', [[spoiler:Dark Meta Knight has stewed in anger inside the Dimension Mirror for long enough that he [[AxCrazy attacks the king on sight]] at the end of ''Dededetour'']].
* MovesetClone:
** By way of being an EvilTwin of Meta Knight, the two share many moves in ''Amazing Mirror''. [[spoiler:''Triple Deluxe'', however, gives him new ones — with much more of an emphasis on mirror and portal-based magic. Interestingly, many of these moves are modified versions of ''Galacta Knight's'' moves.]]
** Interestingly, his playable appearance in ''Star Allies'' averts this. Instead of using Meta Knight's moveset, Dark Meta Knight imports techniques from the Mirror ability, a special ChargedAttack from Meta Knight's ''boss fight'', and [[spoiler:his own ''Triple Deluxe'' boss fight]].
* MyNameIsQuestionMarks: In the first battle with him in Radish Ruins, he's disguised (read: {{palette swap}}ped) as the real Meta Knight, and is identified as "'''???'''"
* NominalHero: The pause description for Dark Meta Knight's playable appearance as a Dream Friend in ''Kirby Star Allies'' suggests his only reason for helping Kirby out is that he's secretly waiting for a chance to take the power of the Dark Hearts for himself (in the English version) or to serve a new BigBad (in the Japanese version), rather than out of any sort of altruism.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Always waits for the heroes to come to him. Granted, this may be because the one time he tried to fight Kirby outside of the Mirror World, he somehow ended up spawning ''three extra Kirbys''.
* ThePowerOfHate: [[spoiler:His hatred and desire for revenge at being [[AndIMustScream lost inside the Dimension Mirror]] managed to leach into the real world and [[TheCorrupter corrupt Queen Sectonia]]. It's also suggested in the Japanese and Korean versions that the sight of [[MisplacedRetribution King Dedede]] was enough to bring him back to his senses and fight, if only to [[InUniverseCatharsis satisfy his own bloodlust]].]]
* PreFinalBoss: In ''Amazing Mirror'', he's the last boss before Dark Mind.
* PromotedToPlayable: He returns in ''Kirby Star Allies'' as a summonable Dream Friend.
* RageHelm: Unlike Meta Knight, it's ''very'' indicative of [[DarkIsEvil what he's like.]] The angles he's shown at make him look even angrier.
* RedemptionPromotion: Well, [[NominalHero for a certain definition of redemption.]] His playable appearance retains many of the new mirror techniques from [[spoiler:his boss fight in ''Triple Deluxe'']], but also grants him many new perks such as a unique variation on the Sword ability's dash combo, a special dashing air attack, and throws in the charged attack from Meta Knight's boss battle in ''Star Allies'' for good measure.
* ReformedButNotTamed: In ''Star Allies'', his Japanese pause descriptions mention that although he was redeemed by the power of the Friend Heart, he's still "drawn towards the darkness across the galaxy", implying that he still wants to serve an evil master but is merely biding his time.
* {{Ronin}}: Long after his master's death, he's revealed to be still alive [[spoiler:in ''Triple Deluxe'''s Dededetour — and now operates on his own, motivated by a thirst for vengeance]]. The Japanese version of ''Star Allies'' indicates that he's sick of this, and is drawn towards the dark energy of the Divine Terminus in hopes of serving a new master.
* SealedEvilInACan: Between ''Amazing Mirror'' and his reappearance in [[spoiler:''Triple Deluxe'']] and ''Star Allies'', he was sealed indefinitely inside the Dimension Mirror. [[spoiler:The [[ThePowerOfHate pent-up resentment]] of this experience was enough to [[TheCorrupter drive Sectonia insane]].]]
* SignatureMove: From [[spoiler:his appearance in ''Triple Deluxe'']] onwards, Dark Meta Knight became associated with the ability to [[DoppelgangerAttack duplicate himself]] and [[SpectralWeaponCopy conjure giant copies of Galaxia]] [[ThinkingUpPortals from mirror-like portals]]. These abilities return in ''Star Allies'' as the major factors that differentiate him from Meta Knight, replacing his Wing-based attacks and appearing as the finishing blows of many of his combos.
* SilentAntagonist: Possibly, since he doesn't say anything in ''Star Allies'' but "[[VisibleSilence ...]]".
* TheSociopath: In his debut, he surprise-attacks Kirby as he was taking a stroll, single-handedly defeats Meta Knight in a duel and traps him in the Dimension Mirror while also slicing the mirror into eight shards to ensure he doesn't escape, and then [[DeadPersonImpersonation poses as him when he and Kirby cross paths again]]. In ''Triple Deluxe,'' [[spoiler:his rage leaks out of the Dimension Mirror and corrupts Queen Sectonia, turning her into a corrupt despot with a desire for godhood]]. And in ''Star Allies,'' the only reason for helping Kirby is that he is drawn to the power of the Dark Hearts and wants their powers for himself.
* SpellBlade: Like Meta Knight, in ''Star Allies'', he can have his sword imbued with elements to enhance his attacks. The attacks take particularly different forms and properties if they're imbued with wind.
* SpikesOfDoom: His "Blade Burst" attack summons huge, jagged mirror swords that stab out of the ground at enemies.
* SpinToDeflectStuff: PlayedWith — in ''Star Allies'', his SpinAttack summons a BeehiveBarrier roughly where the tip of his blade meets the air. It has the same reflective properties of most of his other attacks, as well as his guard move.
* StabTheSky: He has a move similar to Meta Knight's Up Thrust, but he also summons mirror spikes that momentarily surround him for additional protection.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute:
** In ''Triple Deluxe'', [[spoiler:Dark Meta Knight borrows a few moves from the otherwise-absent Galacta Knight]].
** The revamped Mirror ability from ''Planet Robobot'' doesn't appear in ''Star Allies'', but a few of Dark Meta Knight's attacks are directly taken from it, as is his ability to reflect projectiles.
* SwordBeam: In ''Star Allies'', aside from the usual Sword's "at full health" sword beam attack, he retains a move he's had since his first appearance where he [[ThreeStrikeCombo swings his sword three times]] and shoots a crescent-shaped beam in each swing.
* TerribleArtist: In one of the ending artworks to ''Star Allies''[='=]s Guest Star mode, Dark Meta Knight is shown drawing alongside the other Wave 2 Dream Friends. While Adeleine makes a great painting of the Fairy Queen, and Daroach and Ribbon have decent drawings as well, Dark Meta Knight has only been able to scribble a crude, wobbly, unshaded version of his fake Galaxia.
* ThinkingUpPortals: Dark Meta Knight gains this ability in [[spoiler:''Triple Deluxe'', which he uses to stab giant mirror swords through to impale opponents]]. He keeps this ability in ''Star Allies'' as a Dream Friend, and uses it heavily in conjunction with his Mirror-based abilities.
* TokenEvilTeammate:
** The second outright villain to be a Dream Friend in ''Star Allies'', after Marx. The cosmic jester at least [[FauxAffablyEvil has the ability]] to ''act'' [[ReformedButNotTamed civil and friendly]], but Dark Meta Knight is grudgingly cooperating at best, even while redeemed by the Friend Heart. It's implied he only works with Kirby for his own purposes, but whether that's to take the Jamba Hearts for himself or to find a new villain to serve depends on [[DubInducedPlotHole the localization]].
** To clarify, Dark Meta Knight is the Token Evil Teammate ''of'' the Token Evil Teammates. Marx and Susie are AmbiguouslyEvil due to DubPersonalityChange, while Dark Meta Knight is outright stated to be evil in all versions.
* TookALevelInBadass: [[spoiler:As of ''Triple Deluxe'', he seems to have picked up some of his former master's proficiency with mirrors, using them for {{doppelganger attack}}s and to create massive mirror swords from the ground using portals.]] This is continued in ''Star Allies''.
* TornadoMove: He has a copy of Meta Knight's move where he stabs his sword into the ground to produce a giant tornado. [[spoiler:In ''Triple Deluxe'', he can also summon tornadoes from the background.]]
* TrueFinalBoss: [[spoiler:He becomes this in his surprise appearance in ''Triple Deluxe'', alongside Soul of Sectonia.]]
* UndyingLoyalty: His loyalty to the forces of "darkness" trumps his [[TokenEvilTeammate brief alliance with Kirby]] in ''Star Allies''.
* VideoGameFlight: Like Wing Kirby and Meta Knight, he can fly quickly through the air with his wings.
* VisibleSilence: His pause screen quote in ''Star Allies'' is simply "...".
* WalkingSpoiler: His overall character is not very spoilery, but the fact he has a prominent role in [[spoiler:''Triple Deluxe'' as the reason behind Sectonia's descent into becoming a VainSorceress through the Dimension Mirror]] heavily recontextualizes the plot of that game.
* WhamShot: [[spoiler:In ''Triple Deluxe'', after defeating Sectonia DX, Dedede strikes a victory pose… only for the Dimension Mirror to appear and spit out Shadow Dedede. After his defeat, Dedede enters the Mirror, at which point the Mirror reveals Dark Meta Knight, who becomes Dedede's final boss.]]
* YellowEyesOfSneakiness: Like Meta Knight, he has yellow eyes, but his have a pale orange tint to them. Combine that with his mask's thinner visor which gives him a more sinister expression, and you'll know that he's someone you don't want to underestimate.

The BigBad and FinalBoss of ''Kirby & The Amazing Mirror''; he was trying to conquer the Mirror World until Kirby defeated him.
-----
* AmbiguouslyRelated:
** It appears to be the Mirror World's version of Nightmare in some capacity, at least in its first form, since he has similar horns and a "crown", a weakspot in his body and even behaves similarly to the dark wizard. His battle also plays out as an inverted version of Nightmare's own, first appearing in his humanoid form before being reduced to an orb-like form for the final phases. That said, Nightmare is not the only entity it is possibly related to...
** There are certain indications that Dark Mind is also related to the Dark Matter forces, from the similar name and form of a corrupting spherical eyeball creature giving it a resemblance to Zero which could also make him serve as the counterpart to the Dark Matters' leader, and that's without mentioning the similarities to [[spoiler:Astral Birth Void who uses Dark Mind's mirror techniques (accompanied by Void being wreathed in flame like Dark Mind was), which implies that Dark Mind is also somehow related to Void on top of all things]].
* AttackItsWeakPoint: Dark Mind's first form receives more damage if you attack the eye under his cape, à la Nightmare. His second form can only be damaged by either [[GoForTheEye attacking his pupil]] or destroying his mirrors.
* BadassArmfold: His first form does this pose as his default one. It also protects [[AttackItsWeakPoint his weak spot]], the big red eye; if you attack him with his arms crossed, you'll only deal ScratchDamage and he'll shatter harmlessly and reform again.
* BigBad:
** Of ''The Amazing Mirror''. He is the one responsible for corrupting the Mirror World, and his influence is such that it starts to threaten Dream Land itself.
** Some form of him called [[spoiler:King D-Mind]] appears as the final boss of [[spoiler:''VideoGame/TeamKirbyClashDeluxe'']], though its exact connection to Dark Mind is unclear.
* TheBusCameBack: [[spoiler:Shows up as part of King D-Mind in ''VideoGame/TeamKirbyClashDeluxe'' and ''VideoGame/SuperKirbyClash''.]]
* TheCameo: He appears in one of ''Squeak Squad's'' collectible artworks, as well as a keychain in ''Triple Deluxe''. He also appears in ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'' as one of Hammer Lord's equipment sets.
* ClippedWingAngel: The last part of the battle has him shrunken to a smaller size, clearly unstable, and is very easy to beat. Appropriately enough, the cutscene before you fight him indicates that [[KnowWhenToFoldEm he's trying to run away]].
* CompositeCharacter: Dark Mind's powers and appearance imply that he is the Mirror World counterpart of both [[VideoGame/KirbysAdventure Nightmare]] and [[VideoGame/KirbysDreamLand3 Zero]]. His first form resembles a mage with a horned helmet, fights primarily by shooting stars and is only vulnerable while attacking, much like the former. His second form greatly resembles the latter, being a gigantic sphere whose only weak spot is its single eye (as well as the mirrors that accompany it).
* CoolMask: Wears an imposing mask with horns.
* CreativeClosingCredits: Once you deal enough damage to the ClippedWingAngel, the credits start rolling. Meanwhile, you can [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill continue to beat on the boss]] (without any health bars, for you or him), and the game will count the number of hits you land!
* DidntNeedThoseAnyway: You destroy everything but the eye, which is Dark Mind's core. The eye then lights itself on fire and triples in size for the next phase of the final boss fight.
* EyeBeams: After his eye grows, it can fire big beams from above. In a variant, it can also fire differently-colored stars.
* FacelessEye: His second form is a giant fiery sphere with a mechanical-looking eye on it.
* FinalBoss: [[SequentialBoss A tenacious six-phase one]], with brief mini-levels between each of the first four phases, though the {{boss rush}} cuts it down to its three distinct stages, rather than making you slog through the near-identical first four battles.
* FloatingLimbs: Dark Mind's hands aren't attached to his body.
* FlunkyBoss: He may sometimes summon regular mooks, in either of his forms.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: He took over the Mirror World and wants to take over Popstar, and that's all we know about him.
* GoForTheEye: Especially since that ends up being all that is left. You can attack his mirrors, too, but that is likely to get you hurt by their retaliation cutters and will not result in as much attack interruption unless you break them (which causes Dark Mind to end his attack and recoil). It's also best to attack when the pupil is open to attack the core.
* HornsOfVillainy: His mask has four large yellow horns, and he's the BigBad of ''Amazing Mirror''.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Mirrors; though he is not the first in this series, Sirmirror never did so to this degree.
* InterfaceScrew: Flips the screen upside down in his eye form.
* MagicMirror: He can summon mirrors out of thin air to be used in his attacks, or as an OrbitingParticleShield. If one of the mirrors gets shattered, it can turn into harmful cutting blades.
* TheManBehindTheMan: To Dark Meta Knight.
* PunnyName: He appears to be the Mirror World version of Dark Matter, at least in his true form. ''Mind over Matter.''
* ReflectingLaser: Invokes this by bouncing his eye beams off of his mirrors.
* SequentialBoss: It's fought four times in the standard form, then twice as the eye — and it comes immediately after the second round with Dark Meta Knight! To date, this is the boss with the highest number of phases you're supposed to fight in the series, though the battles against the standard form are relatively short in length, have brief mini-levels in between, and have little variance beyond the arena.
* TeleportSpam: Before he degenerates into a giant eyeball. He still teleports around quite a bit in the giant eyeball form, but doesn't ever go into a "teleport once per second" pattern like the previous form did.
* ThrowDownTheBomblet: He may sometimes drop a bomb that has to be destroyed before it blows off into six directions. It can be super-inhaled for the Crash ability.
* UnexpectedShmupLevel: After you beat his second form (the giant eyeball), it isn't over — he then flies away, after which you get to ride on the Warp Star to chase him and beat him down further in a SHMUP battle. It's almost the reverse of Nightmare's scenario.
* WaveMotionGun: One of its attacks in its eyeball form is to shoot a huge laser downwards. It's so powerful that it deals ''two'' points of damage instead of the usual one point of damage everything else does.

The Mirror Dimension self of King Dedede, who appears as the penultimate boss of ''Dededetour!''.
-----
* BellyMouth: In a CallBack to Dark Matter-possessed Dedede, he can rip open his chest to form a dark, toothed mouth.
* BloodKnight: His flavor text states that he "wages battle against all comers." But in the end, the only real opponent he has is [[HeWhoFightsMonsters the darkness in his heart]].
* TheDragon: Presumably this to [[spoiler:Dark Meta Knight]] in ''Triple Deluxe''.
* DubInducedPlotHole: The English version of ''Triple Deluxe'' implies that Shadow Dedede is corrupted in some way, mentioning that his true opponent is the "darkness in his own heart". However, the Japanese and Korean versions is actually referring to ''King'' Dedede in that line, implying instead that Shadow Dedede ''is'' the darkness in the original king's heart. This would gel with how the Dimension Mirror was implied to reflect a person's negative attributes in ''VideoGame/KirbyAndTheAmazingMirror''.
* DubNameChange: Called "Black Dedede" in Japanese and Korean.
* EnergyBall: Can fire these out of his BellyMouth and by using his axe.
* EvilTwin: Of King Dedede.
* InSeriesNickname: In the Japanese version, his pause screen description notes that he's also known as "Burade" (ブラデ), which you get by taking some of the katakana out of "Black Dedede" (ブラックデデデ).
* LiterallyShatteredLives: Like most Mirror World counterparts, he shatters into glass shards upon being defeated.
* MonochromaticEyes: He has sinister eyes that are entirely white.
* MythologyGag: The logo on the back of his coat and on the front of his hammer is a set of black and white circles; the same emblem Dedede had in the older ''Kirby'' games.
* PlayingWithFire: Just like Masked Dedede, his hammer can spew out a gout of flames in his first phase, and when he TurnsRed, he can light his axe on fire to strike the ground with a dome-shaped explosion.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: Denotes his nature as Dedede's Mirror World self.
* ShadowArchetype: Besides the obvious EvilTwin aspect, he represents everything Dedede could have become if Kirby hadn't freed him from Dark Matter. The BellyMouth, retaining the original logo from Dedede's more villainous days, and the line about "the darkness in his own heart" only add to it, especially since the Japanese and Korean versions imply that Shadow Dedede himself is the aforementioned "darkness" to Dedede.
* ShockwaveStomp: Same as Dedede. In the first phase, they simply create stars that Kirby can use against him; in the second phase, they create actual, harmful shockwaves. In addition, he may also jump up and then smash the ground with his axe as he falls, creating a dome-shaped explosion at the impact point.
* SlideAttack: In his first phase, he can do a belly slide attack just like Dedede that goes much further.
* SpamAttack: In his second phase, he has an attack where he swings his axe multiple times while slowly moving.
* UndergroundMonkey: He's a stronger version of Masked Dedede; in his second phase, he becomes an even stronger version of his "Revenge" form.
* VacuumMouth: He has a much stronger inhaling attack than his regular self, capable of sucking the real Dedede or Kirby from across the screen.
* WalkingSpoiler: Naturally, being one of the {{Final Boss}}es of an optional extra mode.

!!The Squeaks
A group of mouse bandits traveling the universe in search of treasure, the Squeaks (aka the "Squeak Squad") are the main antagonists and titular characters of ''VideoGame/KirbySqueakSquad''. While they're persistent thorns in Kirby's side throughout that game, they lack any grand designs, and are more nuisances than outright evil. When they reappear in ''Kirby Mass Attack'', they become vital allies.

[[caption-width-right:272:From left to right: Storo, Daroach, Doc, and Spinni. Behind them are the Squeakers.]]
* AntiHero: They became this after their HeelFaceTurn; even though they're stealing treasures, they're still friends with Kirby.
* AntiVillain: They're villains in ''Squeak Squad'', but they aren't as evil as Dark Nebula, who possessed Daroach. They eventually become friends with Kirby after their HeelFaceTurn.
* AssistCharacter: Daroach's gimmick in ''Star Allies'' has him summon the other Squeaks to lay down the hurt. Storo will crush any foe beneath his weight, Doc will orbit around Daroach like a shield, and Spinni will slash enemies with his WolverineClaws. He can also summon the Squeakers if he tries to summon Spinni while the latter's still running around.
* BackToBackBadasses: [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/kirby/images/5/56/Shadowy_Partners.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20180727230547&path-prefix=en One of the celebratory images]] in ''Star Allies'' depicts him and Dark Meta Knight fighting off a swarm of enemies.
* BanditMook: Both the Squeakers and the minibosses themselves can make Kirby lose the chest he took and then take it away to their hideout. Should it happen, Kirby has to hit them to take it back.
* BreakoutCharacter: Daroach and the Squeaks are more prominent in games like ''Mass Attack'' and ''Star Allies'' than the ''actual'' villain in ''Squeak Squad''.
* TheBusCameBack: After a seven year absence, Daroach returns in ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies'' as a playable Dream Friend. He can also summon Spinni, Doc and Storo to attack enemies.
* TheCameo: They appear as stickers in ''Planet Robobot''. Daroach also appears as one of Whip Kirby's unlockable costumes in ''Battle Royale''.
* CaperCrew: Daroach is the boss, Doc is the tech guy, Spinni is the ninja-like speed and stealth expert, and Storo is the muscle.
* CoolAirship: In ''Mass Attack'', they're shown to have an airship as their base.
* CriminalFoundFamily: The Squeaks may be a gang of thieves, but Daroach says he considers them [[TrueCompanions like family]], and they are never seen apart.
* DubNameChange: Dorocche to Daroach, Spin to Spinni, Stron to Storo, and Churin to Squeakers. The name of their group also translates to "Dorocche Gang", which is why the Squeaks are sometimes called the [[TeamTitle Squeak Squad]].
* GangOfHats: They're an all-rodent gang and they all wear red.
* HeelFaceTurn: They stop antagonizing Kirby at the end of ''Squeak Squad'', and they help Kirby out in ''VideoGame/KirbyMassAttack'' and ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies''.
* HiddenDepths: If you talk to him long enough in ''Kirby Mass Attack'', Daroach will eventually tell you things about himself and his cohorts. To wit:
** Doc is a GadgeteerGenius who loves inventing things and built the Squeaks' airship.
** Spinni is a treasure hunter, but is currently taking a break from the profession.
** Storo is actually a GentleGiant who enjoys brushing his teeth.
** The Squeakers work as Daroach's field agents.
** King Dedede later reveals [[https://twitter.com/Kirby_JP/status/1397387101625221124 on Twitter]] that Daroach has dry skin and [[DoesNotLikeSpam hates the taste of tomatoes]].
* InexplicablyTailless: They're all mice or mouse-like creatures, yet nobody has more than a little stub of a tail; Daroach and Storo are completely tailless.
* LovableRogue: While Daroach and the rest of the Squeaks are a gang of unrepentant pirates and thieves, they [[HeelFaceTurn aid Kirby]] throughout ''Mass Attack'' and ''Star Allies'' and are so cute and charming that you'll forget they were ever villains in ''Squeak Squad''.
* MrExposition: Not originally, but Daroach becomes this in ''VideoGame/KirbyMassAttack,'' offering advice and enemy names, as well as backstory for the islands and the Skull Gang, if you talk to him on his ship. He'll also ask Kirby to get the levels' medals.
* NiceMice: Inverted in their debut as thieves and bandits. Played straight in ''Mass Attack'' with regards to Daroach, who shows concern for Kirby's well-being and offers words of encouragement.
* NotInThisForYourRevolution: Even when they're on Kirby's side, they generally don't care about saving the universe like he does, instead only eyeing the treasure that awaits them. That said, they are pretty upfront about their motivation and genuinely kind to him otherwise.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: Greedy pirates that they are, the Squeaks only care about accruing as much treasure as they can, regardless of whether they're on the side of good or evil. In ''Star Allies'', the Squeaks are there to help mainly to get their paws on "precious" Jamba Hearts; in ''Mass Attack'', Daroach primarily desires [[CollectionSidequest medals]] and only wants the Kirbies to stop [[TheNightThatNeverEnds Necrodeus' plan]] because, in a world of eternal darkness, the Squeaks' treasure wouldn't be able to sparkle.
* RecurringBoss: Spinni, Storo, and Doc appear frequently in stages to try and steal treasure from Kirby.
* RodentsOfUnusualSize: Daroach is pretty big, but Storo dwarfs Dedede.
* SignatureHeadgear: Daroach sports a pretty stylish red hat. It's almost an EyeObscuringHat, but not quite.
* SuperPersistentPredator: The minute Kirby touches a large treasure chest in ''Squeak Squad'', a Squeak MiniBoss and an army of Squeakers will chase Kirby all the way to the end of the stage in hot pursuit. Considering [[RecurringBoss how often they show up]], they can only be considered this.
* SuddenlySpeaking: They were mute in ''VideoGame/KirbySqueakSquad'', but at least Daroach gets some dialogue in ''VideoGame/KirbyMassAttack.'' At over 300 distinct lines of dialogue, Daroach actually delivers more dialogue than any other character ''in the entire series''. That's excluding the notes he wrote in the instruction manual.
* ThrowDownTheBomblet: Daroach, Doc and the Squeakers can throw bombs. In ''Star Allies'' [[spoiler:and as Dark Daroach]], Daroach can also throw a larger bomb that creates a [[PlayingWithFire pillar of fire]].
* YouDirtyRat: In their debut game, they're a band of thieving, villainous mice. {{Averted}} in the ending and in later games, where they're helpful to Kirby.

* {{Ninja}}: Spinni, complete with shuriken that can be inhaled for the Ninja ability.
* FragileSpeedster: Despite that Spinni is fast, but his strength and health are lower than Storo's.
* WolverineClaws: Spinni uses one at close-range. When dropped, it can be inhaled for the Animal ability. When summoned in ''Star Allies'', she uses the same attack.

* CartoonBomb: He can drop a bomb to Kirby.
* TheDragon: He's heavily implied to be this to Daroach, given how he fights Kirby in his Mecha-Kracko and Yadgaine machines as bosses.
* EvilGenius: He was this at first before his HeelFaceTurn, along with the other Squeaks.
* EnergyWeapon: Doc can fire lasers out of his FlyingSaucer. Sometimes, after he's defeated, he'll drop a laser cannon that can be inhaled for the Laser ability.
* GreenAndMean: He has a green mustache, and he was villainous at first before his HeelFaceTurn.
* AnIcePerson: He can blow ice to freeze Kirby.
* FlyingSaucer: Doc mainly fights with a flying saucer, which can be inhaled (after he's defeated) for the UFO ability. He also has a different one which turns into a fake Kracko as level 3's boss.
* OpaqueNerdGlasses: Doc has a pair, complete with spirals.
* RecurringBoss: On top of the role he shares with Storo and Spinni, Doc is fought twice as a full-fledged boss, piloting Mecha Kracko in level 3 and Yadogaine in level 4.

* BarelyChangedDubName: His Japanese name was "Sutoron", or "Storon".
* BerserkerTears: If Storo loses to Kirby in the ''Speedy Teatime'' mini-game in ''Squeak Squad'' without getting to eat a single cake, he pounds the table and cries in rage.
* BigEater: Storo likes eating a lot. The minigame for him is even about a speed-eating contest against Kirby.
* BigFun: He was a FatBastard at first, but later became friends with Kirby after his HeelFaceTurn, along with the other Squeaks.
* TheBrute: The biggest and physically strongest of the Squeaks. Becomes a less villainous [[TheBigGuy big guy]] after ''Squeak Squad''.
* EvilIsBigger: He's the largest member of The Squeaks, and he was villainous at first before his HeelFaceTurn.
* FatBastard: Storo is very fat and brutal, although the "bastard" part is later {{subverted}} with the Squeaks' HeelFaceTurn.
* ExposedAnimalBellybutton: Storo is one of the very few ''Kirby'' characters to have one.
* EyepatchOfPower: Storo wears an eyepatch.
* GentleGiant: Storo is big, and he later became gentle after his HeelFaceTurn.
* GroundPound: One of Storo's attacks is him simply dropping his weight onto Kirby. He also does the same thing in ''Star Allies''.
* MightyGlacier: Despite how strong he is, he moves really slow.
* NeverBareHeaded: His bandana was never taken off.
* RedIsViolent: He wears a red shirt and bandana, and he was brutal at first until his HeelFaceTurn.
* {{Sleepyhead}}: In the menu screen of ''Squeak Squad'', Storo is often found sleeping. Also whenever you fight him, he might sometimes fall asleep after taking too many hits (during which he's invincible).

Daroach is the leader of the the Squeaks.
----
* AffablyEvil: An unabashed treasure-hunting thief and [[CardCarryingVillain self-proclaimed pirate]], yes, but even in ''Squeak Squad'', when his whole gang is battling against Kirby on his orders, he's still personable enough to [[spoiler:replace Kirby's missing strawberry shortcake at the end of the game]].
* AstralFinale: [[spoiler:Dark Daroach]], as the [[spoiler:penultimate]] boss, is fought at the end of Gamble Galaxy.
* BadassCape: Daroach wears one. No, the cute little bell does not diminish the effect; why do you ask?
* BarelyChangedDubName: He was known as "Dorocche" in Japanese.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Daroach in ''Mass Attack'' would sometimes say that "the UsefulNotes/Nintendo3DS is worth its weight in gold", or suggest that you should charge your DS if its power indicator light turns red.
* TheCasanova: In ''Mass Attack'', Daroach mentions having a history of stealing the hearts of ladies.
* CompositeCharacter: Daroach in ''Star Allies'' actually represents the Squeaks as a whole; he can [[SummonMagic summon all]] of his teammates [[AssistCharacter as attacks]]. His moveset also includes attacks from his boss fight, the Animal ability, and the Smack-In-The-Box homages both ''Squeak Squad'''s Magic ability and [[SealedEvilInACan the chest containing Dark Nebula]].
* DemonicPossession: Daroach gets possessed by [[spoiler:Dark Nebula]] when he [[spoiler:opens a mysterious chest, turning him into Dark Daroach. [[TransformationOfThePossessed He gets]] a [[DarkIsEvil darker color scheme]], his fur gets a bit scruffy, his claws grow longer, and he [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking wears a cowbell]]. He turns back to normal after [[BeatTheCurseOutOfHim Kirby beats him]].]]
* DoesNotLikeSpam: According to the 11th Nintendo Switch News Channel message for ''Star Allies'', Daroach hates tomatoes. [[GameplayAndStorySegregation He has no reaction to eating tomatoes in-game, though]].
* EvilOverlooker: In [[https://cdn.wikirby.com/e/e0/KSqS_Dark_Clouds_Group_Artwork.png some promotional art]] for ''Squeak Squad'', he can be seen in the background, peering menacingly out from behind a cloud.
* EvilIsNotAToy: He swipes the treasure chest containing [[spoiler:Dark Nebula]] with no idea of what it contains [[spoiler:and gets possessed by it for good measure]]. He hasn't learned from this mistake as of ''Star Allies'' -- in his Japanese Guest Star quote, he's after the Jamba Heart because it's a bejeweled treasure, even though he has already (potentially, as a Dream Friend) joined forces with Kirby and should know full well [[spoiler:[[DestroyerDeity what the Heart can unleash]] on the universe]].
-->'''Daroach:''' 「その黒き ハートの宝石とやら… いただくぞ!」("That so-called black-hearted jewel... I shall have it!")
* FanOfUnderdog: In ''Mass Attack'', Daroach claims to be one and that it's the reason he's helping Kirby.
* FighterMageThief: The Thief to Dark Meta Knight's Fighter and Adeleine's Mage in ''Star Allies''. He has a bunch of tricks up his sleeve and is able to summon the Squeaks at his disposal. Doubles as a literal example, as he's an actual rat thief.
* FloatingLimbs: Daroach has these, although curiously, the other Squeaks do not.
* FurryReminder: In ''Star Allies'', one of Daroach's idle animations has him twitch his ears like a real mouse.
* GentlemanThief: Complete with a top hat and a thirst for treasure chests. He lampshades this in some of his hints in ''Mass Attack''.
* HeKnowsAboutTimedHits: In ''Kirby Mass Attack'', he will helpfully tell you how to press "Start" to pause the game.
* AnIcePerson: Daroach fires freezing beams from his [[FreezeRay fancy cane]]. In ''Star Allies'', Daroach will fire shards of ice as a normal attack, and fires the ice beam when [[ChargedAttack fully charged]].
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite his HeelFaceTurn, Daroach is still greedy and mischievous, but is nonetheless friends with Kirby.
* JustLikeRobinHood: {{Implied|Trope}}. In the Japanese ''Hoshi no Kirby: Character Daizukan'', it says that his favorite phrase is "help the weak, and crush the strong".
* MagicStaff: Aside from Daroach's cane that shoots ice beams, there's also his Triple Star, which shoots a SpreadShot of stars that Kirby can inhale. [[spoiler:It also becomes this game's EleventhHourSuperpower after you defeat Dark Daroach.]]
* MeaningfulName: Daroach, or "Dorocche" in Japanese, comes from ''dorobou'', the Japanese word for "thief".
* MetalSlime: The ''Kirby Quest'' mini-game in ''Mass Attack'' has Daroach appearing as an enemy. He'll flee after a few turns, but if the Kirbys can beat him before he flees, the Kirbys will get a lot of EXP.
* MrExposition: In ''Kirby Mass Attack'', he provides various hints on how to obtain the various medals, and is always up for a polite chat.
* MrViceGuy: Daroach is obsessed with treasure, outright calling himself a "pirate" in ''Mass Attack'', but he's still very polite and helpful to Kirby offering advice, small-talk and even encouragement.
* PhantomThief: He's a classy GentlemanThief with a thirst for treasure, abilities like teleportation that are made for stealth, and is even implied to have a [[JustLikeRobinHood Robin Hood-like attitude]]. According to his Japanese pause description in ''Star Allies'', he even sends letters notifying his victims about his thefts in advance.
* PreFinalBoss: In ''Squeak Squad'', [[spoiler:[[BrainwashedAndCrazy Dark Daroach]]]] is fought at the end of the eighth level, [[AstralFinale Gamble Galaxy]], right before [[spoiler:the final battle against [[StarPower Dark Nebula]], who was possessing him]].
* PromotedToPlayable: Daroach becomes a playable character as part of the Wave 2 update in ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies''.
* RecurringBoss: He's fought twice in ''Squeak Squad'': first as the boss of level 6 and later, [[spoiler:as Dark Daroach, as the first part of the final battle]].
* RedIsHeroic: He wears a red cape and a hat, and he becomes a helpful character after his HeelFaceTurn.
* RedIsViolent: He wears a red cape and a hat, and he was villainous at first before his HeelFaceTurn.
* TeleportSpam: Like many a Kirby boss, Daroach favors this tactic. He can also do this as a playable character.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Daroach is this occasionally in ''VideoGame/KirbyMassAttack''.
* TrickAndFollowPloy: In ''Squeak Squad'', after Kirby defeats Daroach and Meta Knight then runs off with the treasure chest they were both after, Daroach follows Kirby as the pink ball pursues the knight and then waits for him to [[OpportunisticBastard defeat Meta Knight for him, before swiping the chest for himself]].
* UnwittingPawn: Through greed and ambition, Daroach ends up a victim of [[spoiler:Dark Nebula]].
* WolverineClaws: Has long sharp claws that he can use for close range attacks in ''Star Allies''. They're very similar to the attacks Animal Kirby had in ''Squeak Squad''.
* YellowEyesOfSneakiness: Daroach has these, just to further drive home he's a sneaky little crime lord. It's unknown if the rest of the Squeaks share this trait, as all of them have their [[HiddenEyes eyes obscured]] in one way or another.

* AllWebbedUp: Fitting for a spider mage, he can use some of the same moves as the Spider ability in ''Star Allies'', his threads being pink and magical in nature.
* AngryFistShake: Pulls a two-handed variant when Masked Dedede gets defeated. It helps convey his shock and frustration over the failure of his plan, considering how his [[PerpetualSmiler facial expression doesn't change at all during gameplay]].
* AntiVillain: A misguided [[SpiderPeople spider mage]] whose UndyingLoyalty to his boss and once-friend Queen Sectonia is the only thing that makes him evil. When Sectonia [[YouHaveFailedMe tries to off him for failing her]], he immediately switches sides and helps Kirby finish her off.

Beginning with ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe,'' the mouth is now part of his model, his mouth is now fully modeled alongside it, and his scarf is longer.
* ArmedFemalesUnarmedMales: His boss Sectonia wields a pair of staffs that can turn into rapiers, while Taranza has no weapons and resorts to using magic and puppetry.

* BigDamnHeroes: Both he and Dedede come to Kirby's rescue when he's caught by Sectonia, throwing him a Miracle Fruit that grants him the Hypernova ability.
* BigOMG: In the Japanese and Korean versions, he says this when Kirby defeats Masked Dedede.
* BigWhy: Screams this after Queen Sectonia blasts him for not following her orders properly. It's what led him into realizing that his master and once-friend has gone off the deep end.
* BootstrappedLeitmotif: Taranza's theme in ''Triple Deluxe'' is actually a variation of King Dedede's theme. This makes sense because the theme plays when he kidnaps Dedede, with another version of it playing when he sics the king on Kirby. However, the theme would return in ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'' as the battle theme for [[spoiler:Dark Taranza]] despite the absence of King Dedede during that battle. ''Star Allies'' further cements this as Taranza's introductory theme is based on the aformentioned theme from ''Triple Deluxe''.
** The ''Clash'' games, meanwhile, associate him with "Revenge of the Enemy", the theme that plays against the rematches with the first five bosses of ''Triple Deluxe'' in Royal Road, Masked Dedede's first phase, and Dark Meta Knight's Revenge.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: He can do this to other people, as seen when he forces King Dedede to attack Kirby. He also [[spoiler:becomes a victim of this himself in ''VideoGame/TeamKirbyClashDeluxe'', courtesy of the "black mirror"]], and this is also heavily implied to be the case in ''Super Kirby Clash''.
* ButtMonkey: Poor Taranza. He nearly gets killed by his queen for his failures, is forced to watch her die before his very eyes, gets brainwashed by [[spoiler:his own EvilCounterpart]] in an AlternateUniverse, gets his butt kicked by Team Kirby, and fails to revive Sectonia in ''Star Allies''. Even some of the game's title screen animations show bad stuff happening, such as being knocked over by a bunch of Broom Hatters sweeping the floor, and even missing the opportunity to talk to Adeleine, Ribbon, and Susie.
* TheCameo:
** Appears in ''Planet Robobot'' as 2 stickers.
** Appears among the crowd in the Coin Clash minigame in ''Kirby Battle Royale''.
** Appears as one of Stone's forms in ''Star Allies'', alongside Sectonia's true form.
** Appears on a Character Treat and as one of the unlockable costumes in ''Dream Buffet''.
** Appears as a Dress-Up Mask in ''Return to Dream Land Deluxe''.
* CasanovaWannabe: An animation on ''Star Allies'''s intro screen shows him walking up to Adeleine, Ribbon, Susie, and Vividria, taking some time to adjust his hair before turning back to see they all left. The guy can't win.
* CastingAShadow: Fires dark energy blasts.
* CompositeCharacter: In ''Star Allies'', he uses parts of the Spider ability's moveset (including [[InASingleBound Friend Bounce]]), alongside his own attacks from ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe''.
* CuteLittleFangs: Has fangs like most spiders, and is an adorable-looking critter.
* DarkIsEvil: Downplayed in his debut. In spite of being Sectonia's number two, he's not truly as bad as his boss and was only opposing Kirby out of duty. He then plays this straight in ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe,'' where he not only becomes the [[spoiler:initial]] BigBad, but also gets a new red, black and purple color scheme to go with it.
* DashAttack: In ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'', he has an attack where he covers himself in energy and then dashes across the stage.
* DemotedToExtra: He's still fought in ''Super Kirby Clash'', but due to the removal of the [[spoiler:Black Mirror]], he doesn't have relevance beyond being a RedHerring for Parallel Nightmare.
* DisneyVillainDeath: After he summons Queen Sectonia for assistance against Kirby, he is instead blasted for failing her, and ends up rolling off the palace balcony sadly uttering, "W-Why...?". [[SubvertedTrope Fortunately for Kirby]], he comes back looking none the worse for wear, just in time to pull a BigDamnHeroes when Sectonia tries killing the pink puff after fusing with the Dreamstalk.
* TheDogBitesBack: Decides to help Kirby defeat Sectonia after she tries to kill him.
* TheDragon: To Queen Sectonia, who ordered him to kidnap a "great hero" summoned by the Dreamstalk so she can eliminate this hero. At least, until she tries to off him for failing her.
* DramaticIrony: A tragic example. According to WordOfGod, he gave Sectonia the Dimension Mirror in a well-meaning attempt to please her. He absolutely had no idea that Dark Meta Knight was imprisoned inside it, which allowed the latter to corrupt Sectonia into insanity every time she gazed into the Dimension Mirror.
* EnergyBall: Tosses these to assist Masked Dedede. He also uses it a lot in his boss fight in ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'', from a spread of energy balls to firing balls to all directions to even a gigantic energy ball that [[PinballProjectile bounces around the screen]]. He can also throw them in ''Star Allies''.
* EtTuBrute: His reaction to Queen Sectonia's attempt to kill him.
* EvilCostumeSwitch: Technically, he was TheDragon in ''Triple Deluxe'', but he was an AntiVillain and ended up performing a HeelFaceTurn. When he's acting as the BigBad in ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'', he boasts a darker color scheme of [[RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver red, black,]] [[PurpleIsPowerful and purple.]] [[spoiler:When he comes back to his senses, he reverts back to his original color scheme.]]
* EvilPuppeteer: He is described as the "Master of Puppetry", and is a creepy anthropomorphic spider who [[DistressedDude kidnaps King Dedede]], forcing Kirby to save him. He later attaches puppet strings to Dedede, forcing him to fight Kirby once again. However, Taranza turns out to be not as bad as he seems. Once he realizes just how cruel his boss, Queen Sectonia, is, he even pulls a HeelFaceTurn to help Kirby defeat her.
* EvilSorcerer: Starts off as one while under Sectonia's command. Drops the evil part upon his HeelFaceTurn, having seen that Sectonia is too far gone.
* EyesDoNotBelongThere: Has four eyes in the back of his head and two extra eyes on his forehead, though they don't emote and are presumably secondary to his primary two eyes (like with most real spiders).
* FangsAreEvil: Has CuteLittleFangs and kidnapped Dedede for some sinister purpose. Subverted with his HeelFaceTurn, with them simply acting as cuteness amplifiers.
* {{Flight}}: He can fly through the air. Justified as he has no legs.
* FloatingLimbs: He has [[MultiArmedAndDangerous six of them]] as part of his spider motif.
* FourLeggedInsect: Aside from, well, being a fantastic humanoid spider thing, he only has 6 hands instead of 8 like real spiders do. And he really ''is'' an insect, somehow -- the Japanese version of ''Star Allies'' calls him a "lonely insect" in GratuitousEnglish.
* GemstoneAssault: In ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'', he can throw giant diamonds at Team Kirby from the background. It's something he shares with his queen.
* GigglingVillain: He's visibly giggling for a good portion of his boss fight in ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe''.
* GreenAndMean: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. He wears a green uniform, but for most of his debut, [[AntiVillain he's taking orders from Sectonia out of duty]]. He drops the "Mean" part once Sectonia tries to off him.
* GreenThumb: In ''Star Allies'', he can pull up a replica of the Dreamstalk to attack.
* TheHeavy: He appears in the opening cutscene and drives Kirby into adventuring to stop him. He also leads Kirby to the true villain, Queen Sectonia.
* HeelFaceTurn: Turns on Queen Sectonia after she tries to kill him for his failure.
* HornedHumanoid: He has two small horns on his head.
* IgnoredEnamoredUnderling: Later games would make it clear that Taranza had feelings for Queen Sectonia. Obviously, they were not returned.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: He's really not that good at being a bad guy.
* ItBeganWithATwistOfFate:
** The events of the entire game happening can be attributed to Taranza's failure to recognize Kirby, not Dedede, as the true hero of Popstar. Had Taranza done so, his plans would've succeeded — Queen Sectonia would have remained unchallenged ([[AGodAmI and probably succeeded in becoming Popstar's goddess like she intended]]), and everyone would live miserably under her tyrannical rule. Though, as that game's bonus content shows, Dedede might've been capable of saving the day himself.
** A more tragic example that led to Sectonia's StartOfDarkness — according to WordOfGod, Taranza unwittingly caused Sectonia's insanity when he decided to give her the Dimension Mirror as a gift, not knowing of the imprisoned Dark Meta Knight. Had he not done so, the events of the entire game would have been avoided, and Sectonia would continue to rule Floralia as the kind and fair ruler she originally was.
* MetronomicManMashing: Has some unique {{Grapple Move}}s on enemies webbed up into pods. One of which, "Pod Slamabam", involves Taranza swinging them back and forth in this manner.
* MindControl: Uses this on King Dedede, turning him into Masked Dedede.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: Begins helping Kirby after Queen Sectonia decides to [[YouHaveFailedMe kill him for failing her.]]
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: Even when Sectonia made a FaceHeelTurn, Taranza still followed her orders, even if it meant hurting the Floralians. It's ultimately subverted when Sectonia tries to kill him, at which point he realizes his queen was not the kind and fair person he once served, and betrays her.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: By kidnapping Dedede right in front of Kirby's eyes, Taranza inadvertently leads Kirby to start chasing him all around Floralia to his place. The fixing is twofold: Kirby, the true hero that the People of the Sky expected, would be helping the People of the Sky along the way and go to stop the whole mess, while bringing the "false hero" King Dedede turns out to be helping as well — with him firing Kirby with a cannon to get to Sectonia's second form and then freeing Kirby from her when she grabbed him, something that the final narration notes as the Dreamstalk working InMysteriousWays.
* NumberTwoForBrains: {{Downplayed|Trope}}, as he shows enough foresight to come to Dream Land and abduct the "hero" the People of the Sky thought would save them. The hero he ends up picking, however, is [[TheRival Dedede]] -- even though Kirby was [[FailedASpotCheck right in front of him]] at the time. When Sectonia finds out, [[YouHaveFailedMe she's pissed]].
* OhCrap:
** He gets this kind of reaction when he finally realizes (in the first world's boss stage, of course) that Kirby has been chasing him for a short while, seconds before he sics Flowery Woods on Kirby.
** He reacts like this again when Dedede is defeated; he then gets Dedede back on his legs and powers him up. When Dedede is defeated a second time, Taranza is outright ''frightened'' and desperately summons his master, Queen Sectonia, to help him. [[YouHaveFailedMe Too bad she just blasts him with her scepter instead]].
* PeoplePuppets: How he controls Dedede during the boss fight. For bonus points, if one looks close enough, Dedede is shown to have strings on him.
* PerpetualSmiler: Sports a wide grin that never leaves his face, not even when he becomes distraught after Kirby takes down Masked Dedede or when he gets punted away by Sectonia. He just smiles through all of it, though it could be justified given how his mouth was just a texture on his model. In ''VideoGame/TeamKirbyClashDeluxe'', we can see his mouth open for wide smiles during even more situations where he shouldn't be smiling.
* PrecisionFStrike: In the Japanese version, after Kirby defeats Masked Dedede's Revenge, Taranza notably becomes the first character in the ''Kirby'' franchise to swear.
-->'''Taranza:''' 「くそぉ、こうなればっ!」[[labelnote:Translation]]Damn it, if that's the case...![[/labelnote]]
* PromotedToPlayable: He returns in ''Kirby Star Allies'' as a summonable Dream Friend.
* PunchClockVillain: He serves his boss and once-friend Sectonia out of duty more than anything. The only reason why he has a grudge against Kirby is because the latter is interfering with said duty.
* PurpleIsPowerful: When fought in the ''Clash'' games, Taranza's eyes get a purple glow and his scarf and parts of his horns turn purple.
* Really700YearsOld: Taranza used to be good friends with Sectonia before he gifted her the Dimension Mirror, sending her on a mad quest for beauty. If ''Planet Robobot'' is any indication, he should be roughly around the same age as her, making him about 1000 years old if not an outright TimeAbyss.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Subverted. He wears a red scarf, but while he is a magic user like Sectonia, he never once confronts Kirby directly, instead getting bosses and Dedede to fight the pink puff for him. Played straight in ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'', where he's a quite powerful boss as well as in ''Star Allies'' in which he's a summonable Dream Friend with some equally powerful techniques and then some.
* SirNotAppearingInThisTrailer: The trailers and gameplay videos focused mostly on Kirby and King Dedede, and Taranza doesn't appear at all, even though he's a prominent villain.
* SmashingSurvival: In ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'', he can throw a spider web ball towards one or two Kirbies, which'll then trap them inside. Those players unlucky enough to be trapped must repeatedly tap directional buttons to escape (or have their allies attack the web) before the web ball shrinks and then explodes, dealing high damage. He can also use this attack in ''Star Allies'', and control it more freely.
* SmugSnake: Has shades of this when he first starts talking to Kirby further helped by his [[SmugSmiler ever-constant smile.]] He dismisses Kirby as a [[YourLittleDismissiveDiminutive "persistent little thing"]] that will eventually kneel to him despite all of Taranza's previous attempts to stop him failing. He even gloats to Kirby that he had kidnapped King Dedede in order to foil the People of the sky's "clever plan" to summon a hero with the Dreamstalk, confidently chuckling to himself. He immediately drops this attitude when he realizes that Kirby's the real hero.
* SphereOfDestruction: In the opening of ''Triple Deluxe'' he creates a spherical magic explosion, the "Taranza Burst", to knock off all the Waddle Dees that protected Dedede. It's also used in ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'' when he fights you, and becomes one of his unique moves as a playable character in ''Star Allies''.
* SpiderPeople: Has a distinct spider motif.
* SquishyWizard: A sorcerer with powerful BlackMagic, but goes down in one hit. Which is probably why he's never fought in-game. Subverted in ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'', where he's one tough boss.
* SuddenlySpeaking: Downplayed. After spending most of the game as a SilentAntagonist, Taranza finally speaks during the Royal Road level. However, he only gets dialogue — not actual voice acting or even VoiceGrunting. He does get some grunting later... through the Taranza Mask in ''Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe'', and proper grunting in the ''Clash'' games.
* SummonBiggerFish: He always does this in the cutscene before the first five boss fights, by making those bosses active in some way to attack Kirby. After Masked Dedede's Revenge is defeated, he asks his queen for help... only to get knocked out of the castle for his troubles. He can also do it in his gameplay in ''Star Allies'', summoning a shadowy version of Queen Sectonia to attack from above with lightning strikes.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: He is one to Magolor from ''Return to Dream Land''. Both have a mysterious, mage-like appearance, both have FloatingLimbs, and are villains who HeelFaceTurn in the end.
* TeleportSpam: In ''Team Kirby Clash Deluxe'', in the boss fight against him, he teleports a lot.
* ThisCannotBe: During his OhCrap moment after Kirby defeats Dedede and reveals himself as the true hero summoned by the Dreamstalk.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: He's a tiny-looking spider critter compared to his boss Sectonia. With her true form, however, it's implied that this wasn't the case in the past.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Of the Wave 3 Dream Friends in ''Star Allies''. Both [[VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamLand Magolor]] and [[VideoGame/KirbyPlanetRobobot Susie]] are ReformedButNotTamed in their own ways: Magolor, despite pulling a HeelFaceTurn [[spoiler:after fighting his way through the depths of Another Dimension and destroying the [[ArtifactOfDoom Master Crown]]]] and making up for the events of ''Return to Dream Land'' by making an amusement park for Kirby, is TheGadfly and a trickster, [[spoiler:with the Magolor Soul fight in ''Deluxe's'' True Arena revealing that he harbors some resentment towards Kirby,]] while Susie is FauxAffablyEvil and the TokenEvilTeammate who is the only one of the three to ''not'' turn good, still intent on reviving the Haltmann Works Company. Taranza, meanwhile, is a PunchClockVillain and is the only one who is more or less fully turned good.
* TookALevelInBadass: He was TheUnfought in his debut game. Then he gets a proper boss fight in the ''Kirby Clash'' games, and was PromotedToPlayable in ''Star Allies''.
* TragicDream: His character quote and the FlavorText in the Guest Star Mode of ''Star Allies'' imply that he's got his sights set on the altar at The Divine Terminus in order perform the miracle of seeing Sectonia again.
-->''Hoping for a true miracle, the boy with silver hair from Kirby: Triple Deluxe is making a bid for the altar. [[ShaggyDogStory Deep in his heart, he already knows the outcome.]] But if he could just reach that [[TheLostLenore bright light...]]''
* TragicKeepsake: After showing up in the hub of ''VideoGame/TeamKirbyClashDeluxe'', he can be seen gazing at a flower from the Dreamstalk.
* UndyingLoyalty: Tragically [[DeconstructedTrope deconstructed]]. Sectonia was once the kind ruler of Floralia before making her FaceHeelTurn, but even then, he still stuck by her. It wasn't until Sectonia tried to kill him that he realized that Sectonia was too twisted and dangerous, and had to be stopped.
* TheUnfought:
** He's never fought directly in ''Triple Deluxe''. He does assist the {{Brainwashed}} Dedede by firing {{Energy Ball}}s, though.
** Averted in ''VideoGame/TeamKirbyClashDeluxe'', where he is fought directly as an Ordeal Boss.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: According to WordOfGod, Taranza gave the Dimension Mirror to Sectonia as a gift, unaware that Dark Meta Knight was imprisoned inside it. This led to her slowly becoming tyrannical and insane from Dark Meta Knight's influence until she was too far gone to be redeemed.
* VerbalTic: In the Japanese version, Taranza adds "ne?" to the end of almost every sentence when he's [[SmugSnake playing the villain]]. He mostly drops this after he loses, though.
* WalkingSpoiler: It's hard to mention him without bringing up his boss, Sectonia.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: With Queen Sectonia, until she was corrupted by the Dimension Mirror.
* WhamLine: He eventually reveals that he's actually a servant of [[FinalBoss Queen Sectonia]], changing everything that we saw happen in the entire game.
--> ''To think that you've made it this far. Aren't you a persistent little thing? But even you will kneel before us. '''I, Taranza, cannot allow you to interfere with Queen Sectonia's plans.'''''
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: Initially. Subverted when Sectonia [[YouHaveFailedMe tries to kill him]], at which point [[HeelFaceTurn he helps Kirby defeat her]].

A giant wasp who is the Queen of Floralia. Her goal is to take over all of Planet Popstar, become its goddess, and preserve her beauty forever.
-----
* AllThereInTheManual: What may have been [[spoiler:her [[https://twitter.com/LuigiBlood/status/1560104477830664193 former name]], Joronia]] was revealed as a possible name for a CPU opponent in ''VideoGame/KirbysDreamBuffet'', of all places.
* AmazingTechnicolorWildlife: Downplayed with her original appearance, which is yellow and dark purple, while a real wasp is yellow and black. Played straight in her Soul form, which is dark and light blue.
* AmbitionIsEvil: She's a tyrannical Queen whose ultimate goal is to become the most beautiful creature in all of Popstar -- even fusing with countless creatures to create the perfect body and fusing with the Dreamstalk itself to become a goddess (i.e. drain Popstar and its inhabitants of their life energy). Her ambitions end up being her own undoing as her attempted murder of Taraza for his failures drove him to betray her, allowing Kirby to defeat her.
* AntiquatedLinguistics: In Japanese, Sectonia uses some fairly outdated grammatical constructions as well as the pronoun ''[[UsefulNotes/JapanesePronouns warawa]]'', emphasizing her regal yet pompous personality. It makes sense that she's been alive for [[Really700YearsOld well over 1000 years]].
* ArmedFemalesUnarmedMales: She wields a pair of staffs that can turn into rapiers, while her lackey Taranza relies on magic and puppetry.
* AssistCharacter: In ''Star Allies'', Taranza can summon her (or to be specific, an illusion of Sectonia) to rain down lightning.
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: Her wasp-like abdomen's frilly appearance is meant to evoke the appearance of a regal dress worn by female royalty, complete with poofy shoulders, a RegalRuff, and ([[FloatingLimbs disembodied]]) HighClassGloves.
* AttackDrones: When fused with the Dreamstalk, she can spawn flowers on any vine that allow her to see in any area. They resemble Drawcia Soul's Para-Matters. The flowers can also float in midair, fire lasers, and turn into swords, [[SpikeBallsOfDoom spiked balls]], or [[RingsOfDeath giant chakram-like ringed blades]] to attack others from a distance. She can also use them to form [[DeflectorShields barriers]], which can only be broken by shooting down her flowers.
* AutobotsRockOut: Her boss theme, "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40DEipGcoXg Sullied Grace]]", is a hauntingly epic song that combines OminousPipeOrgan and heavy metal.
* AxCrazy: A high-functioning example. She appears to be a beautiful, graceful, and politely-spoken Queen, but her true character is a psychopath obsessed with gaining beauty and power, with her ultimate goal being [[GodhoodSeeker obtaining godhood]]. After responding to Taranza's summons for help by [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness blast him for his failure]], she tries to kill Kirby herself, only to become increasingly furious and unhinged as Kirby manages to counter even her strongest attacks. Her boss battle as [[BackFromTheDead Soul of Sectonia]] reveals the true depths of her insanity -- having lost everything, she revives herself just to try kill Kirby again. When Kirby bests her again, she resorts to ''ripping her own head off'' in desperation. This makes her attacks stronger, with copious amounts of TeleportSpam, but she loses what little remained of her sanity, laughing madly as she fights Kirby like an animal with no restraint in her spells or strategies.
* BackFromTheDead: After being mortally wounded by Kirby's Hypernova Beam in her last battle, she, in her dying throes, eats four Miracle Fruits in a desperate final bid to defeat Kirby. She [[CameBackStrong becomes stronger for it]], but in the process she [[CameBackWrong loses much of her mind and sanity in the process]]. Furthermore, her appearance applies she's little more than an insane corpse by that point, as her head became [[UndeathlyPallor icy blue]] instead of the vibrant dark blue and yellow.
* BackgroundBoss: Her OneWingedAngel forms as the fused Dreamstalk barely interacts with the foreground for most of the battle. Instead, she takes damage whenever Kirby hits her flower drones that act in her place. Her boss battle as Soul of Sectonia also starts off as this, [[TurnsRed until she rips off her own head]].
* BadassBoast: Being a vainglorious Queen who sees herself as above everyone, she loves giving these out.
** Her boss battle in the main story proper sees her making this twice:
--->'''Sectonia:''' ''(first battle)'' Now then, hero of the lower world. You would risk your life for this land? You would stand against me, the ruler of the heavens? Very well... You will bow before the great Queen Sectonia! My beauty rivals the divine... ''and my power will crush all that you hold dear!''\
'''Sectonia:''' ''(second battle)'' Bah... aha... I... see. I expected as much from the hero chosen by the Dreamstalk. But I wonder... How will you handle this? You see, true beauty... is ''control''. The Dreamstalk has guided you thus far. But its bloom will be your doom! Floralia, Dream Land, and this entire planet! You should all feel honored. You will serve as my sustenance... ''for eternity!''
** She's '''''even more boastful''''' in the Japanese and Korean versions.
--->'''Sectonia:''' ''(first battle)'' Now then, hero of the lower world. On behalf of the incompetent people of this country... You would wish harm against the queen who shall rule everything? Very well... Then you shall soon regret your folly. Kneel before us, Sectonia, queen of all creation... Worship us, whose beauty rivals a god's... And sacrifice everything to us!!
--->'''Sectonia:''' ''(second battle)'' Kuffufu... fu...... We... see... As expected... of the hero... guided by... the World Tree... If that's so... then behold... The beauteous... art of puppetry...! The World Tree... that has guided... the two of you here... We shall... become... one with it! Florald, the lower world... And this entire planet... Shall serve as our sustenance... forevermore... Consider it... an honor!!
* BadBoss: Her EstablishingCharacterMoment involves her trying to off Taranza for failing her by blasting him with magic, sending him falling over the wrecked balcony. It even extends into her boss fight -- she'll summon Antlers to assist her during the fight, and if they are still on the field when she attacks, then she'll uncaringly attack them as well. She's also willing to sacrifice the kingdom of Floralia and use her own subjects as an eternal source of sustenance after she fuses with the Dreamstalk to become a "goddess", presumably not caring if this includes servants like Taranza, who was loyal to her until the very end.
* BattleBoomerang: One of Soul of Sectonia's attacks involves flinging petal-shaped booomerangs around herself, mimicking Marx Soul's own.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: [[spoiler:Her appearance in ''Planet Robobot'' as a clone reveals that she was once a spider-like creature like Taranza, and she was beautiful in a cute, adorable way.]] She was once TheHighQueen of Floraria who ruled with a kind heart... until Taranza brought her the Dimension Mirror as a gift, which slowly corrupted her and instilled in her an obsession for beauty and power.
* BeautyIsBad: She is a regal and beautiful Queen, but she is truly a villainous psychopath who is so obsessed with beauty that she committed numerous atrocities to make herself more beautiful -- including fusing with the Dreamstalk to become a "goddess" and parasitizing off of numerous creatures for centuries to create the perfect body for herself, leading to her wasp-like appearance. Plause menu blurbs state that she wasn't always like this, but was driven mad after Taranza gifted her the Dimension Mirror, which contained the vengeful Dark Meta Knight.
* BigBad: Of ''Triple Deluxe''. As the tyrannical queen of Floralia, Sectonia ruled over the People in the Sky with an iron fist, forcing them to seek help from a legendary hero in Dream Land. Mistaking Dedede for said hero, she orders her servant Taranza to kidnap him, leading Kirby to start his journey to both rescue his rival and save the oppressed Floralians. The post-game reveals that she was actually a benign queen before having her mind twisted by [[GreaterScopeVillain Dark Meta Knight]] through the Dimension Mirror.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: She's [[BeeAfraid a giant bee]] who towers over Taranza, the similarly small Antlers, and everyone else, though she more closely resembles [[WickedWasps a wasp]].
* BladeSpam: One of her attacks with her rapiers is to do multiple stabs as she moves forward before ending it with a wide-arching slash.
* BlowYouAway: She can summon powerful winds that blow Kirby to different parts of her boss stages. She can also do so in her OneWingedAngel forms.
* BodySurf: Sectonia's manipulation magic goes one step beyond Taranza's by allowing her to [[FusionDance fuse with]] her victims. She uses this ability as her trump card when she's defeated in ''Triple Deluxe'', possessing the Dreamstalk and transforming into a BotanicalAbomination. ''Planet Robobot'' goes a step further and reveals she's been doing this for [[Really700YearsOld a thousand years]], all in pursuit of the perfect body.
* BotanicalAbomination: After being defeated the first time, she merges with the Dreamstalk, which she also sends into overgrowth and begins visibly ''choking the life out of Planet Popstar''. Not only that, she's content to consume her own kingdom as well, almost immediately burying her own castle in a tangle of vines. Beyond that, she can spawn eyes from any flower on any vine to personally see in that area.
* BrightIsNotGood: Her bee/wasp form is very colorful, but she's a ruthless, narcissistic queen who is obsessed with beauty and has no problem treating her minions as disposable like what happaned with Taranza. [[spoiler:''Planet Robobot'' reveals that her original form as a spider like Taranza was dark-colored, but she was much nicer beforehand]].
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: In pursuit of her vain obsession with beauty, Sectonia has used her magic to prey on and [[GrandTheftMe steal the bodies]] of so many victims that she has forgotten her true form. This plays a large role in her ShapeshifterIdentityCrisis as Sectonia Soul.
* TheCaligula: Sectonia is an [[{{Narcissist}} extremely vain]], authoritarian tyrant who is obsessed with her own beauty, and she's [[AxCrazy violently insane]] towards anyone who dares oppose her rule. Her madness is cast in [[TragicMonster another light]] at the end of the game, where it's stated that she's deteriorated into an EmptyShell who can barely cling to her wounded pride.
* CallBack: Many of Soul of Sectonia's attacks are taken directly from [[VideoGame/KirbyCanvasCurse Drawcia Soul]]. Some are taken from [[VideoGame/KirbySuperStar Marx]], too.
* TheCameo: Appears in ''Planet Robobot'' as a sticker, a special costume for Spear Kirby in ''Battle Royale'' (with him wielding her red scepter as a spear), in one of the Stone transformations [[spoiler: in her original form]] in ''Star Allies'', as the Rarity 14 gear in ''Super Kirby Clash'', as a rare outfit for Parasol in ''Fighters 2'', and as two Dress-Up Masks in ''Return to Dream Land Deluxe'', one based on her [[spoiler:original form (nicknamed "Old Friend")]], and one based on her wasp form.
* CastingAShadow: Her [[ShockAndAwe lightning attacks]], fired from her gold scepter, are colored black.
* ClassicVillain: Sectonia represents Ambition, Pride, and Wrath. A despotic tyrant obsessed with beauty and power, her ultimate goal is to become a goddess, which would have involved becoming the Dreamstalk and choking the life out of Popstar and its inhabitants. She deals with minions who failed her by blasting them into oblivion, and responds to repeated defeats at the hands of Kirby with increasing fury. Her pride is such that even when she should have died, she brings herself back to life anyway just to try kill Kirby, even though she's reduced to an unliving creature with no sanity left. Naturally, she is brought down by her own pride, her unwavering ambitions, and her ill-treatment of her own subjects.
* CombatTentacles: In her merged form with the Dreamstalk, she can manipulate vines to impale Kirby (somewhat like Marx and Magolor's vine attacks). She also strangles Kirby with it after she's defeated the second time, but Dedede fortunately frees him by knocking him out of the vines with his hammer.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: Soul of Sectonia is one for [[VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamLand Magolor Soul]]. Both are {{Empty Shell}}s of the BigBad (Magolor/Sectonia) after they have been heavily corrupted by golden artifacts (the Master Crown and the Dimension Mirror) which contain evil inside of them (the [[spoiler:Master Crown]] is [[LivingHat sentient]], while Dark Meta Knight was still trapped in the Dimension Mirror), who are left to beg for Kirby to stop them as the fight goes on. However, Magolor Soul is Magolor's lifeless body controlled by the evil of the Master Crown who, [[NonIndicativeName despite his name]], doesn't use any Soul-related attacks, while Soul of Sectonia is Queen Sectonia's vengeful, undead soul brought back by a desire to kill Kirby who almost exclusively uses Soul attacks during her second phase. Their appearances are also very similar, being monstrous creatures that consist of only a head with wings (Magolor's wings are from the Master Crown, while Sectonia's wings are naturally hers), jagged crowns, [[HornsOfVillainy horns that curve downward]] (or in Sectonia's case, antennas), and [[RedEyesTakeWarning red eyes]] (Magolor Soul has a red eye in his mouth, while Sectonia has red eyes). The ''Deluxe'' remake takes it one step further [[spoiler:by giving Magolor Soul a new second phase in the True Arena which sees him going insane just like Sectonia (this time, from the Master Crown [[SoulEating eating his soul]]) and having a new pause description written from his P.O.V just like with Soul of Sectonia in the Japanese version which expresses [[AndIMustScream his pain and suffering]]]].
* CoolCrown: She wears a golden and blue crown with a pink heart-shaped gem on it. It looks more menacing as Soul of Sectonia, with spikier and more jagged edges and a black heart gem.
* CuteLittleFangs: [[spoiler:Revealed in ''Planet Robobot'' to have formerly owned a pair of these like Taranza.]]
* DanceBattler: Implied in ''Planet Robobot''; Star Dream compares her swordplay to a "beautiful dance".
* DarkActionGirl: She does [[MagicKnight both magic and swordplay]], and is her game's BigBad.
* DarkIsEvil: While she herself is a [[BrightIsNotGood brightly-colored creature]], both the Royal Road levels and her boss battles take place at night, with the full moon illuminating her during the latter. This symbolizes how her tyrannical reign cast a shadow over the oppressed people's of Floralia. Fittingly, her defeats and death scenes occur [[CueTheSun while the sun is rising]].
* DeathCryEcho: She'll cry out every time she's defeated. Her defeat as Soul of Sectonia seems to finalize this as she is killed for good, screaming before [[DisappearsIntoLight exploding into petals]].
* {{Determinator}}: If the True Arena, then oh hell yes. If The True Arena is to be believed, she went OneWingedAngel by fusing with the Dreamstalk, was beaten again in a long battle that ended with a giant laser to the face, ''survived that'' for long enough to get four Miracle Fruits, went against Kirby a third time, and when ''that'' failed, she '''ripped her own head off of the Dreamstalk,''' just so she could fight Kirby one last time.
* DisappearsIntoLight: Defeating Soul of Sectonia will cause her to explode in a storm of blue-violet petals.
* DualWielding: Her main weapons pre-fusing with the Dreamstalk are two {{Magic Staff}}s and two {{Royal Rapier}}s.
* DubNameChange: Queen Sectonia is an [[InconsistentSpelling alternate]] [[UsefulNotes/JapaneseRomanization romanization]]. Sectonia Soul became Soul of Sectonia.
* EmptyShell: The description of Soul of Sectonia calls her a pitiful husk (a "pathetic corpse" [[{{Bowdlerise}} in the Japanese version]]) and states that there's not much of her left at this point.
* EnergyWeapon: Her OneWingedAngel forms, especially Soul of Sectonia, gain the ability to fire lasers at Kirby.
* EvilFormerFriend: To Taranza, who was her trusted servant and closest friend.
* EvilIsBurningHot: Soul of Sectonia borrows a move directly from Drawcia Soul, combining her Deadly Bound and Deadly Sun attacks together by morphing into a giant red fireball.
* EvilOldFolks: Sectonia Clone's pause description in ''Planet Robobot'' heavily implies that she's been around for about a thousand years, and she's a ruthless, egocentric queen who has no sympathy for any of her subjects.
* EvilOverlord: Her rule was so bad that the Sky People planted the Dreamstalk in hopes of summoning a great hero who can help defeat her. She was once a kind ruler until her obsession with beauty — specifically, her frequent gazing into the Dimension Mirror — corrupted and twisted her.
* FaceHeelTurn: She used to be a kind queen and one of Taranza's closest friends, but then she became obsessed with beauty due to the Dimension Mirror's influence, which led to her newfound cruelty towards her subjects.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Gives off an aura of grace and elegance, but does nothing but spit venom at those who anger her and treats her own subjects/subordinates like shit.
* TheFightingNarcissist: An insect queen completely obsessed with beauty, which she equates to power, and is a dangerous fighter capable of wielding both magic and rapiers/staves.
* FinalBoss: She's one for the main story of ''Triple Deluxe''.
* FloatingLimbs: She has only two of them, covered in HighClassGloves. [[spoiler:''Planet Robobot'' reveals that she used to have six floating hands like Taranza before changing to her current two.]]
* FlowerMotifs: It doesn't come up until her "Flower Sectonia" and "Soul of Sectonia" battles, but after fusing with the Dreamstalk, she became associated with the [[https://www.google.com/search?q=plumeria&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwib99TYnevQAhUCzmMKHeRyDBYQ_AUICCgB&biw=1280&bih=628 plumeria flower]], which the flower of the Dreamstalk resembles. The plumeria represents love (which might refer to her own love of herself; ironically, she's [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen a really terrible ruler]] and her own subjects fear her) and also death (her Soul of Sectonia form depicts a rotted Dreamstalk with Sectonia's decomposing head in the middle of its flower).
* {{Foreshadowing}}:
** You can find banners and icons sporting her face adorning the Royal Road levels while you chase Taranza.
** In ''Planet Robobot's'' Meta Knightmare Returns mode, the first clone that Meta Knight fights - Dark Matter Clone - briefly transforms into its true form, Real Dark Matter, before it explodes. Then you fight the clone of Sectonia and, surprise, she too has a "true form" - [[spoiler:which resembled Taranza]].
* {{Foil}}: To King Dedede. Both are the powerful, prideful rulers of their respective kingdoms, but whereas Dedede learned from his {{greed}}, genuinely loves his people, and taught himself to fly by pushing his original body to its limits, Sectonia's {{pride}} has only grown worse over the years, cruelly imprisons and mistreats her own citizens, and parasitizes other life forms in pursuit of a [[BodySurf new, perfect body]].
* FoulFlower: After fusing herself with the Dreamstalk, she becomes a BotanicalAbomination.
* FlunkyBoss: She sometimes summons enemies called [[AntAssault Antlers]] in her fights. These grant either [[FireIceLightning Fire, Ice, or Spark]] depending on the color of the enemy (red, blue, and green, respectively). [[BadBoss She'll also uncaringly hit them while trying to get to Kirby.]] As Soul of Sectonia, she summons yellow [[GiantMook Lord Antler]] giants during the second phase.
* FragileSpeedster: Soul of Sectonia's final form is very difficult to hit due to constantly [[TeleportSpam Teleport Spamming]] all over the place, but has very low health to compensate.
* FunWithAcronyms: {{Played for Drama}}. While she's called Sectonia Soul in the original Japanese version, the international versions call her Soul of Sectonia. While very dfferent for stepping away from the ThemeNaming of every other Soul boss (sans [[spoiler:[[VideoGame/KirbyAndTheForgottenLand Soul Forgo]]]]), her name can be abbreviated as S.O.S., which is usually a call for help. And what is Soul of Sectonia doing during her fight? Calling out to Kirby to [[MercyKill put an end to her misery once and for all]].
* FusionDance: With the Dreamstalk. It's also implied that she had done this to countless other bodies in the past.
* GemstoneAssault:
** Downplayed in her first boss phase, where she summons a large diamond when down to half health, though it only serves as another arena. She ''can'' hurt Kirby if she smashes the diamond with her scepters while Kirby's still on it.
** Played straight when fighting her clone in ''Planet Robobot'', as she sometimes smashes the ground, which sends a fair-sized chunk of diamond sliding out to the sides which you have to jump over.
* GigglingVillain: Frequently lets out a NoblewomansLaugh during the boss fight. Soul of Sectonia upgrades this into [[LaughingMad Marx-like laughter]].
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: She appears with malevolently glowing white eyes, right before blasting Taranza into oblivion.
* AGodAmI: She declares herself the ruler of the heavens before her fight, or in Japanese and Korean, 万物の女王 'queen of all things'.
* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: The queen of Floralia and a narcissistic, despotic tyrant. She used to be a kind ruler, especially towards Taranza, but endless gazing into the Dimension Mirror corrupted her mind and turned her into the cruel, narcissistic tyrant she is now.
* GrandTheftMe: Is said to have fed off of countless hosts and forgotten her true body, which according to ''Planet Robobot'' [[spoiler:closely resembled Taranza's]]. The reasoning for this is related to her being a VainSorceress.
* GreenThumb: Upon combining with the Dreamstalk. The limitlessness of this kind of power is played straight, with her threatening to choke out and devour all of Planet Popstar.
* HighClassGloves: A pair of floating ones as hands.
* HighCollarOfDoom: Her neck is adorned with a RegalRuff with pink and purple stripes, and she's the BigBad of ''Triple Deluxe''. Her collar as Soul of Sectonia has blue and dark purple stripes.
* TheHighQueen: She was originally this to Floralia before the Dimension Mirror’s corrupting influence twisted her into a cruel despot.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard:
** Sectonia, if you didn't try to kill Taranza, maybe he wouldn't have betrayed you.
** It happens again during the second phase of her boss fight; had she known what the Miracle Fruit can do in the hands of someone like [[VacuumMouth Kirby]], she wouldn't have ended up with a face full of WaveMotionGun that she tried firing at him.
* HornedHumanoid: [[spoiler:''Planet Robobot'' implies she initially had a pair of horns like Taranza before changing into a wasp.]]
* TheHyena: She seems to find her first battle with Kirby to be quite hilarious.
* ImpossibleHourglassFigure: Though as a wasp, this makes sense.
* InsectQueen: She's the queen of all of Floralia.
* InterfaceSpoiler: It's possible to get her keychain (by collecting every Sun Stone in the game) before one even goes to the final boss battle.
* JustEatHim: One attempted on the planet's entirety, at that; she merges with the Dreamstalk and declares her intent to feast on the planet and its populace for the rest of her potentially-endless life. It fails when Dedede and Taranza perform a BigDamnHeroes and give Kirby a Miracle Fruit, allowing the pink puff to defeat her in time.
* KickTheDog: The moment Taranza summons her, Sectonia [[YouHaveFailedMe sends him flying]] without a word, then insults him. In the Japanese and Korean versions, the word she uses can mean "disgraceful" or "ugly". The latter seems especially nasty, as she is [[BeautyIsBad obsessed with beauty]].
--> '''Sectonia (EN)''': Pitiful, Taranza. I have no use for a [[YouFool fool]] who cannot follow orders.
--> '''Sectonia (JP)''': How hideous, Taranza... I have no need for such [[YouFool useless fools]].
* KnightOfCerebus: In true ''Kirby'' villain fashion, the game takes a darker turn when she takes center stage. Later turns tragic once you read the pause menu blurbs during her boss fights.
* LackOfEmpathy: Her beauty is the only thing that matters to her, and as such it's the very last thing she clings to on her last legs.
* LadyOfWar: A MagicKnight version of one. She's graceful and composed, and she is both skilled in spellcasting and swordsmanship, with one of her weapons being rapiers.
* LargeAndInCharge: She is much larger than her subjects. She also, predictably, is the strongest of them.
* LaserGuidedKarma: One of the major factors in her defeat is her own minion Taranza, [[MistreatmentInducedBetrayal who started aiding Kirby after she tried to kill him for his failure]].
* LaughingMad: Her NoblewomansLaugh evolves to insane giggling later during her battle as Soul of Sectonia, after she goes through a long VillainousBreakdown.
* LegacyBossBattle: A clone of her is the second secret boss of ''Planet Robobot''.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1Xs0OVU0K8 Divine Beauty]]", a pompously grand yet sinister orchestral piece to go along with her image of a powerful, narcissistic, and evil ruler with megalomaniac ambitions.
* LifeDrinker: What she tried to do upon merging with the Dreamstalk, extending its vines throughout all of Planet Popstar so she can become a goddess by slowly feeding on everyone's life force for eternity. Thank God it didn't take.
* LightEmUp: She can fire light purple {{Energy Ball}}s from her silver scepter.
* LightIsNotGood: In a surprisingly stark contrast to previous ''Kirby'' villains, whose appearances and forms are themed after evil, darkness, and chaos, Queen Sectonia is themed after bees and flowers, which signify birth and rejuvenation especially in her final forms, and she is impressively more elegant than prior final bosses. Unfortunately, for someone with such a motif, Sectonia is definitely ''not'' one of the good guys.
* TheLostLenore: Despite her villainy and subsequent death with Taranza himself helping Kirby do the deed, she continues to motivate and otherwise influence Taranza in his other appearances past her debut. [[spoiler:''Return to Dream Land Deluxe'' even names the mask based on her original form "Old Friend".]]
** One instance can be seen at the end of his character trailer for ''Star Allies'', where after Taranza summons a shadowy copy of Queen Sectonia to blast the area with lightning, the music fades out as he dashes and leaps at it only for her to vanish before he can reach her. He then starts wiping what is implied to be tears from his eyes before moving onward.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: In her OneWingedAngel form; she only does this in the Story Mode. Her flower drones attack with swarms of missiles, which Kirby has to inhale and keep them on his mouth, because Sectonia herself will then fire an absolutely ''gigantic'' missile at Kirby that he has to deflect with the previous smaller missiles.
* MadeOfIron: For one, at least in The True Arena, she took a deflected ''WaveMotionGun'' '''''to the face''''' and still remained alive for long enough to eat four Miracle Fruits to come BackFromTheDead.
* MagicKnight: She's skilled in spellcasting, especially summoning. Supplementary material also reveal that her current wasp-like appearance was the result of her using forbidden magic to fuse herself with various hosts in order to make herself more beautiful. She's also no slouch in using rapiers, and she can enhance this with TeleportSpam. Star Dream describes her swordplay as "[[DanceBattler a beautiful dance]]".
* TheManBehindTheMan: Or woman, in this case, for Taranza.
* MeaningfulName:
** According to WordOfGod, Sectonia's name is a portmanteau of "insect" and "near" to show that she's not quite an insect as she appears. ''Planet Robobot'' implies that she used to resemble [[spoiler:a spider (i.e an arachnid, not an insect) like Taranza]], but years of dabbling in forbidden magics and performing {{Fusion Dance}}s with countless hosts gave her the wasp-like form she currently has.
** [[spoiler:''Kirby's Dream Buffet'' gives her the name [[https://twitter.com/LuigiBlood/status/1560104477830664193 Joronia]], which is both a reference to the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichonephila_clavata Jorō spider]] and a possible nod to the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jor%C5%8Dgumo jorōgumo]], a spider-like {{youkai}} that takes the form of a beautiful woman.]]
* MeaningfulRename: [[spoiler:''VideoGame/KirbysDreamBuffet'', of all places, implies that she was once known as "Joronia" before her transformation into a parasitic wasp.]]
* MercyKill: Pause menu blurbs for Soul of Sectonia imply that Taranza has realized the best friend he once knew is too far deep in her own insanity to be saved, so he tells Kirby to give Sectonia her "[[DeadlyEuphemism final beauty sleep]]". [[{{Bowdlerise}} The Japanese and Korean versions]] have ''Sectonia herself'' [[ICannotSelfTerminate begging Kirby to kill her]] because she doesn't recognize herself or her friends anymore. This was foreshadowed with the name of the final stage, "Eternal Dreamland", [[DubInducedPlotHole which was supposed to be symbolic if not for the translation of Kirby's home country being Dream Land internationally]].
* MixAndMatchCritters: ''Planet Robobot'' says her DNA (taken from one of Dreamstalk's petals) contains traces of species spanning a thousand years. The writers previously stated that she uses magic to possess new hosts, and the wasp-like body was only her most recent body, but seeing as how she combines the wasp-like body with the Dreamstalk, it seems the wasp body is actually already a combination of creatures Sectonia has taken the body of.
* ModifiedClone: [[spoiler:The clone of Sectonia made by Star Dream has some slight changes that differentiate her from the original; the most noticeable change is that the {{Wicked Heart Symbol}}s on her outfit have a crack down the middle, resembling Star Dream's own emblem. The blue parts of her body are also changed to purple, she lacks a shine in her eyes, and she defaults to using swords instead of staves.]]
* {{Narcissist}}: Obsessed with beauty, which she equates to power. Her own castle even has images made in her likeliness. Her constant gazing into the Dimension Mirror corrupted her into becoming this trope.
* NoblewomansLaugh: Does this [[TheHyena frequently]]. It later evolves to LaughingMad during the Soul of Sectonia battle.
* OminousPipeOrgan: Played during some notes of the music played in the cutscene before fighting her when she makes her appearance, and the battle theme played in her first phase (which also [[AutobotsRockOut contains heavy metal]] in it).
* OneToMillionToOne: Soul of Sectonia's rain of nectar attack, much like Drawcia Soul and Marx Soul before her.
* OneWingedAngel: She turns into a grander form after she's defeated by fusing herself with the Dreamstalk, which lets her control it.
* ParasitesAreEvil: According to Sectonia Vine's pause description, Sectonia comes from a race of parasites that leech energy from other beings until they can be controlled, and as the BigBad, she is certainly evil. Sectonia Soul's description notes that she has "fed off countless hosts" -- presumably to [[BodySurf steal their bodies]] for herself -- to the point of giving herself a ShapeshifterIdentityCrisis.
* {{Planimal}}: After [[FusionDance combining herself with the Dreamstalk]], she became half-plant, half-insect.
* PlatformBattle: During the second phase of her battle, she'll forcefully bring Kirby onto a floating diamond platform outside the castle, with a BottomlessPit on each side. In her OneWingedAngel form fight, the battleground is made of floating platforms. Every time she loses a fraction of her health, she'll pull Kirby into another platform with one, then two, and finally three holes on them. Once Kirby enters the Hypernova phase, however, the platforms will all be filled.
* PressXToNotDie: Mashing the Control Pad is critical during the cutscene where Kirby does a BeamOWar with her laser in her final form in the story mode.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Her color scheme is mostly purple, and her magic summoning circles are pink-purple as well. Her DX form is also colored purple, with more emphasis on red. Her clone version is even more purple (as was Dark Matter Clone before her). She's also a powerful magic user and fighter, and the game's FinalBoss.
* RammingAlwaysWorks: As Soul of Sectonia, one of her new attacks is taken directly from Drawcia Soul, where she tries to ram into Kirby as a giant flaming fireball.
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: A powerful mage and warrior, and also the queen of Floralia.
* Really700YearsOld: ''Planet Robobot'' suggests that she's at least 1,000 years old. The English version says that [[spoiler:Sectonia Clone's data]] "contains elements of creatures spanning a period of 1,000 years". The Japanese version instead says it is "comprised of 1000 years' worth of data on various organisms", which implies she is [[TimeAbyss far, far older than that]].
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Both her DX form in Dededetour and True Arena, and her final form as Soul of Sectonia, have dark red eyes.
* RhymesOnADime: Just before fusing herself with the Dreamstalk, she promises Kirby that, "Its bloom will be your doom!"
* RingsOfDeath: Fires golden rings during her boss fight.
* RoyalRapier: She's the queen of Floralia who can convert her staves into rapiers to stab with.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: She's got no problems with getting her hands dirty if the situation calls for it.
* SanitySlippage: Deconstructed and played for drama. Soul of Sectonia's pause-screen descriptions imply this, stating that being defeated by Kirby, combined with her hunger for power, has left her insane, and the only thing she can cling to is her vanity. Taranza recognizes that the queen he knew is too far gone at this point, and tells Kirby to kill her, while the Japanese and Korean versions have Sectonia ''begging'' Kirby to kill her because [[ShapeshifterIdentityCrisis she doesn't recognize even herself anymore]].
* ScreamingWarrior: Her OneWingedAngel forms have her roaring before attacking Kirby.
* SequentialBoss: Due to her being a FinalBoss. In Story Mode, she has a total of four sequences: her normal form, then the "shooting through vines" section, Flowered Sectonia, and finally Hypernova vs Flowered Sectonia (the second and the fourth are omitted in The Arena). In The True Arena, you fight Sectonia DX, then after Shadow Dedede and Dark Meta Knight's Revenge, 2 consecutive phases of Soul of Sectonia.
* ShadowArchetype: To King Dedede. She's everything he would be if he lacked any [[AffablyEvil compassion]] and respect for his minions [[note]]She actively imprisons them, while Dedede has stated in ''Epic Yarn'' [[HypocriticalHumor that only he can be mean to his Waddle Dees]] and yet truly cares for them[[/note]], was consumed by his {{Greed}} (or in Sectonia's case, {{Pride}}), [[note]]Over the years, Dedede managed to control his greedy ways, but is suggested to still have signs of this in ''Star Allies'' after being possessed, while Sectonia was consumed by vanity and became a corrupt monarch[[/note]] and was driven mad by his desire to finally defeat Kirby [[note]]Dedede managed to get over his long-time rivalry with Kirby and eventually became friends with him, while Sectonia immediately hated Kirby from the moment he beat her and descended into insanity to try and kill him[[/note]].
* ShapeshifterIdentityCrisis: In order to create her current, "beautiful" body, Sectonia has [[BodySurf possessed countless hosts]] over hundreds of years. In the Japanese and Korean versions, Soul of Sectonia laments that she can no longer remember her true form, and she [[DeathSeeker begs Kirby to kill her]].
-->'''Sectonia Soul:''' ''I have preyed on countless hosts, and possessed so many... that I can no longer remember which of them is my true shape. Now, I cannot hear the voice that called to me anymore. Before this night ends, give me... eternal rest...''
* ShockAndAwe: One of her attacks has her fire black lightning at Kirby from her gold scepter. In her OneWingedAngel form, she gains the ability to drop down electrical coconuts down on the stage which give the Spark ability when inhaled.
* TheSociopath: Due to her corruption by the Dimension Mirror, she becomes a selfish being willing to destroy all of Dream Land with the Dreamstalk for the sake of her own personal beauty.
* SorcerousOverlord: She's the Queen of Floralia and a skilled mage, but she's also [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen a tyrant]] who treats her subjects and servants terribly.
* SparedByAdaptation: Like many others, she shows up just fine and dandy on Kirby's twitter.
* SpiderPeople: [[spoiler:Her boss battle in ''Planet Robobot'' implies that she once closely resembled Taranza before years of dabbling with GrandTheftMe changed her appearance.]]
* StaffOfAuthority: She [[DualWielding holds one in each hand]].
* StartOfDarkness: She didn't become a cruel and narcissistic tyrant until she started looking at her own reflection in the [[ArtifactOfDoom Dimension Mirror]] (which was a gift from Taranza). The Dimension Mirror slowly corrupted her into madness by preying on her insecurities, slowly making her obsessed with beauty and power.
* SummonMagic: A third of her attacks in her boss fight is summoning diamonds and Antlers.
* TeleportSpam: Does this during the boss fight. She actually manages to abuse it more than her predecessors. As Soul of Sectonia's final form, she actually has [[FragileSpeedster less HP than most other bosses]] to compensate for it making her so difficult to hit.
* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: [[spoiler:Her true form (seen after defeating her clone in ''Planet Robobot'', as one of Stone Kirby's transformations in ''Star Allies'', and as an unlockable mask in ''Return to Dream Land Deluxe'') mostly resembles Taranza, but is differentiated by longer hair and prominent mascara.]]
* ThisWasHisTrueForm: [[spoiler:When Meta Knight defeats her clone in ''Planet Robobot'', she briefly turns into a Taranza-like form before exploding.]]
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: A wasp queen who dwarfs her spider minion, Taranza. Averted before her transformation; she used to be a spider critter who was the same size as Taranza, until the Dimension Mirror influenced her to make herself more beautiful with some forbidden magic (i.e possessing other creatures).
* TookALevelInJerkass: Sectonia used to be a respectable ruler who was once friends with Taranza. That is, until gazing into the corrupted Dimension Mirror drove her insane with vanity and led her to a conquest for godhood.
* TragicVillain: She was once a kind and fair ruler who was also Taranza's best friend. But after Taranza bestowed her the Dimension Mirror as a gift, she fell under its corrupting influence as the Dimension Mirror preyed on her insecurities, slowly turning her into a vain, monstrous tyrant. After her plans to [[GodhoodSeeker become a goddess]] are foiled by Kirby, she goes off the deep end, becoming the [[LaughingMad cackling]] Soul of Sectonia. The Japanese and Korean blurbs reveal that she's become so insane that she doesn't recognize even herself anymore and outright ''begs'' Kirby to kill her.
* TrueBeautyIsOnTheInside: In the Japanese version, Queen Sectonia DX's pause description notes that while she has transformed into a "bewitching villainess", she has "gradually turned her heart hideous" through her relentless, [[BodySurf body-hopping]] pursuit of physical beauty.
* TrueFinalBoss: Soul of Sectonia is fought only in The True Arena as the last boss.
* UndeathlyPallor: In contrast to Sectonia's vibrant purple, pink, dark blue, and yellow color scheme, Soul of Sectonia is mostly colored with blues and dark blues, with her Dreamstalk form bearing rotted petals. She gained this look from eating four Miracle Fruits, which brought her back from death's door, but as a living corpse.
* VainSorceress: She wields two magical staves, a lot of magic, and she is completely obsessed with her own beauty. According to WordOfGod, she used to look like her insectoid underlings (more specifically like [[spoiler:Taranza, based on her clone in ''Planet Robobot'']]), but she used magic (specifically, possessing other creatures) to change her appearance to something much more beautiful, especially after the Dimension Mirror made her obsessed with beauty.
* VampiricDraining: According to one of her pause screens, Sectonia's species survives by draining the energy from other life-forms until they're weak enough to be controlled.
* VillainousBreakdown: Twice.
** The entirety of the second battle with her is this. For the majority of the fight, she remains as calm and elegant as usual, but after being beaten back the first time, she attempts to squeeze the life out of Kirby in a rage. Then Dedede and Taranza pull their BigDamnHeroes moment and give Kirby the [[EleventhHourSuperpower Hypernova]] ability, at which point she pretty much snaps and tosses every attack she can throw at Kirby as the pink puffball tears through her defenses and eventually defeats her.
** By the time of the "Soul of Sectonia" battle, she has lost everything but her vanity, and the defeats she has suffered have reduced her to a giggling madwoman who will stop at ''nothing'' until she has Kirby's WaddlingHead on a platter. The Japanese and Korean pause screen blurbs reveal that she's become so insane that she couldn't recognize her friends, or even herself anymore.
* VillainousValor: Sure, she's a villain, but one can't help but admire her determination. First, she faces off against Kirby herself, and though beaten, she stays alive long enough to fuse with the Dreamstalk. And when her OneWingedAngel form is beaten, ''twice'', she remains alive long enough to eat four Miracle Fruits to revive herself just so she could fight Kirby again. This girl's got guts. Not to mention that despite being beaten yet again in that form, she detaches from the dying Dreamstalk to keep on fighting. Oh, and by "detaching", we mean ''ripping off her own head''.
* VillainTeleportation: An evil queen who can teleport at will. Like most ''Kirby'' bosses, the ability comes with a [[TeleportSpam spam button]].
* WalkingSpoiler: Her existence is never hinted at until late in the game. Especially Soul of Sectonia. The reveal of her [[spoiler:original form through her clone in ''Planet Robobot'' is even worse]].
* WaveMotionGun: In her OneWingedAngel form, she can summon AttackDrones that fire huge lasers. [[HoistByHerOwnPetard It's what ultimately does her in]] after Kirby gains Hypernova and proceeds to inhale the damn thing before firing it back at her.
* WeHaveReserves: She can kill any Antler that she's just summoned through the use of her attacks, plus she can summon as many more as she wants, [[BadBoss just so she can wipe them out again if she feels like it]].
* WhoNeedsTheirWholeBody: After being beaten the first time, Soul of Sectonia [[OffWithHisHead rips her own neck]] off the Dreamstalk, leaving her with nothing more than her head and wings.
* WickedHeartSymbol:
** Has, along with a heart emblem on her chest, tiny hearts adorning her sinister RequisiteRoyalRegalia and her wings. Quite fittingly, she's a rather {{Narcissist}}ic villain.
** Her clone, meanwhile, has said chest heart emblem being cracked in the middle. It's a byproduct of her being made by Star Dream, which possesses a similar cracked heart emblem.
* WickedWasps: WordOfGod even states that she's based on parasitic wasps; this is reflected in her ability to possess other creatures, i.e becoming a "parasite".
* WingedHumanoid: By virtue of being an anthropomorphic bee.
* YellowLightningBlueLightning: Sectonia's scepter can fire ''black'' lightning.
* YinYangBomb: Fires [[CastingAShadow black lightning]] from the gold staff and [[LightEmUp orbs of light]] from the silver staff.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Attempts this on Taranza. It bites her in the ass later.
-->'''Sectonia:''' Pitiful, Taranza... [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness I have no use for a fool who cannot follow orders.]]
