Some UNMARKED SPOILERS for both VideoGame/LiveALive and Anime/YuGiOh5Ds ahead. Tread carefully!
!The Seven Heroes/New Signers/Crimson Stars of Satellite

* BadassAdorable: Pogo, Lei, and Cube are very cute and are very deadly when given a chance to fight.
* BadassCrew: They're a group of heroes who defeated Odio, the Lord of Dark who doubled as the embodiment of hatred.
* BadassNormal: Pogo, Sundown, and Masaru have no fancy tricks, using only their skills and weapons to take down baddies.
* ClosestThingWeGot: The Crimson Dragon chose them due to how they defeated Odio. Unfortunately, the former didn't consider how all but one would be poorly equipped to fight the Dark Signers, let alone survive a dystopia like Neo-Domino.
* DrinkBasedCharacterization: Aside from Cube (who is a robot) and Masaru (whose drink hasn't been shown as of yet).
** Coffee: Pogo and Sundown are the ones who drink coffee, the former not understanding what the drink is and coffee was a popular drink in the Wild West for the latter. Pogo is wild and savage, Sundown is an aged cowboy.
** Tea: Lei and Oboro, hailing from Asia. Lei drinks it in memory of her shifu whereas Oboro is a stoic, tranquil ninja.
** Soda: Akira chugs a soda can to represent his youth and immaturity. And that he's a GeniusSweetTooth.
* MassOhCrap: They all have this reaction at the end of Story 1 when Pogo hugs Akira ... and exposes his Heart Mark to the Dark Signers since they had no idea of a sixth mark at the time.
* NoSympathy: While the Seven Heroes are heroic and are trying to save the world, they sometimes show little to no sympathy for many characters.
** None of the heroes have sympathy for Jaeger begging for help to save his wife and son because he refuses to admit that his little temptation act with Jack is the reason they're all stuck in another world in the first place.
** They despise Jack for how he's responsible for their mess since he chose fame over his friends.
** Zigzagged with Akiza. Many of them do sympathize with her, but are annoyed when she doesn't stop her whining.
* ThePoorlyChosenOne: Downplayed; the heroes are capable, just completely out of their league when it comes to fighting the Dark Signers.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: A caveman, a shifu who was previously a bandit, a cowboy, a ninja, a martial artist, a psychic, and a round robot who serves horrible coffee.
* RedIsHeroic: Aside from having the marks of the Crimson Dragon, many of them wear red: Lei's outfit, Masaru's headband, and Cube's cap.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Lei is the only female of the heroes.
* ThisIsGonnaSuck: Everyone not named Pogo react like this when given ear plugs by Misty, knowing that they'll be hearing Kiryu and Yusei pounding each other in the bedroom all night long.
* TrueCompanions: No matter what, the seven stick together till the end. When in the Facility, Sundown, Masaru, and Pogo refuse to join Aoyagi in his escape plan unless Oboromaru -- who is fighting Armstrong -- joins them. They also decide to help carry the burden for Akira when the pressure gets too much.
* WhenAllYouHaveIsAHammer: Pogo and Sundown's attacks mostly boil down to either hitting something with a club or shooting them. That's all that is needed to fight off their enemies.

!!Pogo
A caveman who falls in love with a girl meant to be sacrificed to a hungry dinosaur. He was given the Heart Mark.
----
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: In Live A Live, Pogo would fall head over heels in love with any other female he saw, as seen if Lei is the finale protagonist. This trait of his is completely gone in the fanfic as he doesn't show signs of crushing on Misty and shows disgust towards Mikage.
* BagOfSpilling: Does not have his infamous Cola Bottle on him which the narration lampshades how it would've been useful in some areas.
* BeneathSuspicion: Due to him being a caveman flung into the far future, this means the Dark Signers never bother to see him as dangerous. This turns out to be a blessing in disguise for the heroes, for he has the Heart Mark and both Goodwin brothers only assume there's only five marks...until Pogo accidentally reveals himself near the end of Story 1.
* CharacterCatchphrase: "AIEEEEEEE!!!!"It's meant to mean "Love" in Japanese.
* DumbMuscle: Justified since he's a caveman so he wouldn't be able to show signs of higher thinking.
* TheEmpath: He can sense if others are feeling down, constantly hugging his friends when everything gets overwhelming for the group.
* EveryoneHasStandards: You know how bad Mikage's obsession with Jack is when even the LoveFreak caveboy despises her.
* ExtremeOmnivore: Eats his earplugs meant to block out Yusei and Kiryu's lovemaking.
* TheHeart: Metaphorically and literally. He's always giving out hugs when he senses concern and worry from the others, and he's got the Heart Mark of the Dragon.
* NoSell: His primitive mind makes him immune to Kiryu and Yusei's excessive love making that traumatizes everyone else.
* TheNoseKnows: Has a very good sense of smell, even able to smell that something was wrong with Goodwin
* RealMenEatMeat: Eats mostly meat whenever food is mentioned.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Meat. It's all he ever eats in one restaurant.
* UnskilledButStrong: Doesn't have any other strategy except slamming something with his club, but being a caveman means that's all he needs to knock an opponent down.

!!Lei Kuugo
A bandit turned student of the Earthen Heart martial arts and later the current shifu. She was given the Foot Mark.
----
* ActionGirl: The only woman in the group and a kung-fu master.
* AdaptationExpansion: Nothing was noted about her past in canon, but the story reveals she ran away from her abusive parents.
* AngerBornOfWorry: Upon seeing Yun and Hong again, she gets furious before hugging them with tears in her eyes, guilty for not being able to save them.
* BerserkButton: Do not call her a concubine or any term similar to that. When she learns what being a "hussy" is, she is ready to break Mikage's neck.
* BlowYouAway: Her Harpy Deck, which consists of Wind monsters.
* Foil: An obvious one to Akiza given that Lei's bearing Akiza's mark. Both women wear red and have a mentor figure, but Lei was taught to be more open and kind by her shifu, while Akiza became codependent on Divine. Lei had abusive parents and lived alone in the forest, Akiza's parents were flawed but loving and she chose to stay with Divine. Lei is a martial-artist who uses Harpies that fly, whereas Akiza is a Psychic and has a witch-like motif and her monsters are plants that grow in the soil. Lei learns that she can't get everything but strives to be better whereas Akiza doesn't understand how blessed she is and spirals into insanity.
* HarpingOnAboutHarpies: She uses a Harpie Lady Deck.
* HopelessWithTech: Justified since she's from a time period long before phones were even conceived, but she fumbles around with the smartphone Misty gives her.
* ImposterForgotOneDetail: The glamor she uses to look like Mikage goes fine, but she nearly slips up by calling Jack "Atlas-sama" when the real Jack told Mikage never to call him that. Thankfully, Akira saves the day by putting Jack to sleep.
* Irony:
** She's shown using Harpie Ladies, a Wind archetype, when she's the shifu of the Earthen Heart.
** The shifu of the Earthen Heart doesn't have a heart as her Mark; rather, she has a foot.
* MonsAsCharacterization: Lei is a deadly lady who was the FragileSpeedster of the disciples, like Harpies are known to be beautiful but deadly and their strategy was to ZergRush the field.
* MoreDeadlyThanTheMale: She's a very dangerous kung-fu master who isn't afraid to get dirty. When Oersted asks to defend her honor after Mikage calls her a hussy, Oboro and Masaru flatly tell him it's best to not get in her way.
* MyGreatestFailure: Aside from not being able to save Yun and Hong, she deeply regrets not reacting in time to have the Earthen Heart shifu die in her arms.
* RuleOfSymbolism: Her Sign is the Foot, and the Heavenly Peak's Descent is portrayed as a barrage of punches and kicks.
* UnknownRival: Is this to Mikage due to Lei having to disguise herself as the secretary to kidnap Jack. Lei's too preoccupied with the Dark Signers to care for Mikage's pettiness until Mikage called her a hussy and even then it goes nowhere once all of Neo-Domino essentially goes to Hell.

A ninja from Edo Japan and bodyguard of Sakamoto Ryoma. He was given the Tail Mark.
----
* DeadpanSnarker: In some of the few times he speaks, he has some dry wit.
* HighlyVisibleNinja: Zigzagged; in his time period, his outfit would actually make sense. But in Neo-Domino, a ninja in broad daylight clearly stands out.
* InSeriesNickname: Usually goes by "Oboro" instead of his full name. If someone should use his real name, it's either they're polite or it's a serious matter.
* InvisibilityCloak: Carries three of these on hand, which he uses along with his stealth.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: His weapon is a katana.
* Ninja: A master of stealth from the Enma Shinobi clan.
* NotSoStoic: Even he can't help but chuckle when Sundown suggests that he and Jack can get their Pun "Satisfaction" going on.
* ThouShallNotKill: Refuses to take a life and is specifically stated in the author notes that he took the Pacifist route.
* TranquilFury: Glares at Armstrong when the obese Security guard states he'll use Oboro's katana as a toothpick.

A gunslinger who roams the world to hunt down outlaws. He was given the Hand Mark.
----
* AmbiguouslyBi: He had a family before he became an outlaw, but there are some hints that he pines for Mad Dog.
* BoringButPractical: His weapon is a gun, and that's as plain as it is. But a gun is still a gun, and one bullet to a Duel Disk or to a vital area will put his opponents down for good.
* BottomlessMagazines: Zigzagged; Sundown is still capable of firing multiple shots from his gun without reloading, but there is a scene in the story where he's actually forging bullets and gunpowder.
* CommonalityConnection: Has a discussion with Jack on how they're both lonely and desperately seek companionship.
* TheGunslinger: By virtue of being from the Wild West, all of his attacks involve his .44 Magnum.
* LactoseOverLiquor: He orders for milk in Bootleg, most likely as a reference to him being given milk in the game and also a MythologyGag for Yusei also ordering milk from the same bar.
* LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain: Requests no one mention how he told Jack that they can get their satisfaction on while disguised as Yusei.
-->Sundown: Let’s not bring this up in normal conversation. Ever.
* MustHaveCaffeine: He's a coffee drinker and can tolerate Cube's coffee.
* NamedByTheAdaptation: He's never given a real name in his game, but the fanfic reveals that his first name is Shane.
* NoSmoking: Narration reveals that he quit smoking after the Odio affair, which is probably a nod as to how cigars were originally a healing item before being changed to beef jerky in the remake.
* NotSoStoic: When Kiryu laughs at having a bullet to the chest, he panickily tells Akira to teleport them out of there.
* Omniglot: It's not mentioned in the fanfic but he knows how to speak Spanish from his game and then adds Japanese to his arsenal.
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: PlayedForLaughs. He always gets reminded that his Odio incarnation ended up being a horse.
* RefugeInAudacity: How does he make Jack Atlas flinch? By disguising himself as Yusei and suggests they get their satisfaction going on. The absurdity makes his friends nearly break cover from how sudden and unexpected it is.
* SexualEuphemism: In order to get the drop on Jack, he (disguised as Yusei), suggests the two get their "satisfaction going on".
* StoryBreakerPower: Sundown is the second most dangerous member of the group because he has a gun on hand. So the only times he's allowed to shoot are when he's dealing with Divine's Psychic monsters, Streibough's army, or when he tried to shoot Kiryu, only to end up doing nothing.
* TeamDad: As the oldest of the heroes, he acts as this for the seven.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: His reaction when Akira has him be in disguise as Yusei solely because of him drinking coffee.
-->Sundown: I hate you.

A traveling fighter who wishes to prove his strength by fighting the best. He was given the Head Mark.
----
* AdaptationalSkill: He can drive, which comes in handy when he has to pretend to be the limo driver for Jack Atlas.
* BloodKnight: Loves a good fight and is itching to punch someone in the face.
* GoodIsNotNice: He is not amused with Jaeger's IHaveAFamily line since he doesn't care for other families in Satellite who suffered much worse than them.
* MugglesDoItBetter: When fighting Divine, he knocks the psychic down with a Fleetfoot compared to Divine too distracted by Akira to attack.
* Omniglot: Speaks English and Japanese, which he teaches Sundown, Oboro, and Lei.
* WalkingTheEarth: What he was doing prior to being whisked to Neo-Domino.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Can use a variety of wrestling moves like a double lariat.

An orphan with psychic powers who has a job as the park's taiyaki guy. He was given the Wings Mark.
----
* AdaptationalSkill: He has decent art skills if he can make a manga about his adventures in Lucrece.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Psychic wise, he's this to Akiza and Divine. While they both are talented Psychics, they're both limited to making the effects of cards real. Akira beats them in versatility due to him creating psychic hallucinations that they don't have defenses for, his mind-reading, and casting fire and ice without the use of a card. And that's not mentioning him controlling a giant robot with nothing but his stubbornness.
* AnimalMotifs: The lion has been synonymous with Akira. Three of his Ritual Beast monsters are modeled after lions -- Spiritual Beast Apelio, Ritual Beast Ulti-Apelio, and Ritual Beast Ulti-Gaiapelio -- which relate to his ferocity and willingness to protect his loved ones. They're also depicted as the King of the Jungle, and his main goal is to topple Jack Atlas, the Riding King. Last, lions are symbols of the sun, which fits Akira, whose name means "Light". And let's not get started about his spiky mane of AnimeHair...
* ApocalypseMaiden: [[spoiler:The Dark Signers' plan hinged on Akira pushed to his limit to the point he loses control and ravages the minds of Fortune Cup's apathetic audience into chaos via Judgement Day, allowing them to enact Hell on Neo-Domino.]]
* AuthorAppeal: He's the focus of the heroes due to him being the author's favorite protagonist from LAL.
* BadassBiker: By virtue of being the only one who can actually ride a motorcycle, he's the one who rides the team's only D-Wheel.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Part of his beef with Jack is how Jack didn't give a shit about Rally, who is essentially like a little brother. Akira himself has a little sister and is a big brother figure to the kids at the Bright Sparks Orphanage so it really makes him pissed off at how Jack would offer up a kid's life for glory.
* BookDumb: It's implied that Akira didn't get a formal education due to being raised in an orphanage, but he's sharp as a whip in regards to strategies and getting the jump on people with his mind-reading.
* CombatPragmatist: Befitting his origins as a street punk who would go for low blows, Akira's deck is all about fighting dirty, whether by bouncing or banishing. Unfortunately this makes the Tops feel like he doesn't fight honorably towards their Champion, right after he worked on building good graces with them during his matches with Greiger and Akiza.
* CompositeCharacter: In a sense. He has spiky hair and a red bike like Yusei, the Wings mark and Fire-type signature monster of Jack, and psychic powers of Akiza.
* CuttingTheKnot: His strategy is to either bounce a monster back with Pettlephin or banish them since none of the opponents he fights have Banishment retrieval. In his duel against Jack, he doesn't even bother to have Jack Synchro Summon his ace, as he discards Dimensional Shifter -- which sends any card to the graveyard to be banished until Jack's turn -- to ensure Jack can't revive Twin-Swords Marauder with his face-down card.
* FatalFlaw: His philosophy of "people need to save themselves" is also his biggest flaw. He puts a lot of pressure on himself to be the one making sure everything is on track in regards to Dark Signers that he pushes himself to his limit and doesn't know when to take a break and let the others carry the load. This also means that he also bottles up a lot of his emotions resulting in
* Foil: Acts as one for Yusei, Jack, and Akiza.
** Yusei: They both are spiky-haired pretty boys, ride red motorcycles, have a deceased father, and grew up in an OrphanageOfLove. Yusei allows himself to be guided by destiny to destroy the Signers, Akira tells destiny to bug off. Yusei was betrayed by Jack and can never forgive the latter for leaving him to drown, whereas Akira never got angry with Lawless over killing his father as Lawless made up for this blunder for the rest of his life.
** Jack: Jack is fully absorbed with himself while Akira is shown to care for his little sister and the other orphans even if he doesn't openly admit it. Jack also is incapable of holding any sort of job as shown in the WRGP arc, while Akira works at a taiyaki stand and later drew his own manga. Jack didn't care that he put Rally in danger, whereas Akira is horrified that he killed Watanabe's father and has to keep it secret and refused his sister's request to be transformed into a liquified human.
** Akiza: Both are psychics with similar names, but while Akiza was taken into a dedicated school to hone her skills, Akira is self-taught. Akiza's powers are through making her Duel Monsters real, while Akira focuses on mental attacks on the mind along with fire and ice. Akiza has living parents while Akira's dad is dead and his mom is never mentioned. Akiza angsts about no one understanding her and follows Divine's words, while Akira forges his own path and doesn't ask for others to guide him, nor does he whine or complain about how much his life sucked. Both wear outfits that show off lots of skin, Akiza wearing thigh high stockings, garter belt, and a blouse clearly exposing her fertile tracks of land while Akira sticks to NoShirtLongJacket. Akiza's signature color is red, while Akira's is green.
* GeniusBruiser: He's gotten into numerous street fights before the Odio situation, and he's also intelligent enough to think of plans on the fly and is the main duelist of the Seven for the Fortune Cup.
* GeniusSweetTooth: He drinks soda and it's implied he was taste-testing taiyaki to figure out what types of coffees would go with them. All while being a strategist who grew up on the streets makes stuff on the fly through his mind reading.
* HiddenDepths: He knows how lavender is used for relaxation and that the Blue Eyes Mountain Coffee would have less caffeine than traditional coffee. He explains this by stating that he had to learn what drinks would go best with his taiyaki.
* ICallItVera: His bike is called "Muhomatsu", which is the term that Lawless's name is derived from in Japanese.
* InUniverseCatharsis: Has two of these: one is when he strikes soda cans with fire and ice, the other is when he starts punching a sandbag over and over again.
* IShouldWriteABookAboutThis: He wrote a manga series about his adventures in Lucrece. Funnily enough, his character designer would later do the same thing with Akira as the leader.
* KeepingSecretsSucks: Implied to be full of loathing over how he had to put Kozo Watanabe out of his misery and never telling his son anyone about it.
* TheLeader: He becomes the de facto leader of the heroes since Satellite/Neo-Domino is similar to his own time period.
* LightIsGood: Has abilities based on light and heavenly motifs, his strongest monster is a Light Attribute monster, and he's one of the Seven Heroes who stopped Odio.
* LoopholeAbuse: Akira uses Ritual Beasts because you don't need a Spell Card to fuse them -- outside of Ritual Beast Bonds -- which is beneficial in Riding Duels since Speed Spells are the norm.
* MadeOfIron: Akira throws himself to stop Greiger from attacking Goodwin and ends up having his chest scraped (he wasn't wearing a shirt at the time) and then gets repeatedly slammed to the ground by Black Rose Dragon. At no point does he feel exhausted, although that's probably due to him having healing abilities and .
* MeaningfulName: Akira means "Light", due to two of his abilities having heavenly imagery and representing the "light" which stands up to the Dark Signers, also reflected by one of his nicknames being "Lightbringer".
* MindOverMatter: He has psychic powers like teleportation, mind reading, and telekinesis. He also uses the Ritual Beast archetype, with many of its support monsters being Psychic types.
* MissingMom: The game never revealed what happened to his mother, but Akira mentions that she died after giving birth to Kaori.
* MonsAsCharacterization: As someone who uses Psychic abilities to cripple his opponent or be used to get the jump on them, it makes sense how he uses Ritual Beasts since he has an advantage to Contact Fusion and to banish/bounce cards, something his opponents -- many using Synchro -- can't counter.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: When he lets his anger get the best of him upon
-->Akira: Oh my god...oh god NO!!!!
* MythologyGag: A mind-reading duelist who has art skills? Seems Akira is channeling Pegasus.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: In an attempt to help Professor Frank improve Leo and Luna's psychic powers, Akira gives Luna the bracelet Divine gave him (she refused and Leo took it). Unfortunately
* NoShirtLongJacket: He usually wears a long teal jacket but no shirt. This bites him in the ass after his duel with Greiger as he skids across the road and parts of his chest is scraped. Thankfully, Misty gifts him with a shirt.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: It's implied he defeated Akiza in their first duel back in chapter 19. When the two duel again in the Fortune Cup, Akiza confirms that Akira wiped the floor with her.
* RageBreakingPoint:
** Akira kept it together throughout the first day of the Fortune Cup. He snaps at Kiryu and pummels him as the stress gets to him.
** Akira snaps when he sees Akiza smiling at how she wants to see him critically injured by her Rose Tentacles in their Fortune Cup match, enough that
** Finally, [[spoiler:seeing the Fortune Cup's audience boo and falsely accuse him of cheating just cause he ends the duel early and whomps Jack has him unleash Judgment Day on the masses, dooming Neo-Domino to the Dark Signers.]]
* RedBaron: "Psychic Scarf" and "Lightbringer" are his titles. He later names himself "King of Fortune" and "Psychic Angel of Neo-Domino".
* ScarfOfAsskicking: He wears a scarf covered in studs, which is how he gets the second half of his moniker "Psychic Scarf".
* SirSwearsALot: He's got the dirtiest mouth of the Seven, but then again he is a rebellious teen.
* WouldRatherSuffer: He proclaims he'd rather drink ten cups of Cube's coffee then hear another round of Kiryu and Yusei mating like rabbits.
* YouKillItYouBoughtIt: Downplayed since he didn't kill Jack, but at the end of Act 1, he declares himself the new "Riding King".

A spherical robot on wheels who studies humanity. Doesn't have a sign so the notes jokingly call them "Sign Detector".
----
* BadToTheLastDrop: Cube like making coffee. Very bitter coffee. Only Sundown and Pogo can swallow it.
* BagOfSpilling: Is not equipped with robotic parts from Akira's time, as they were dropped off with Kato who hoped to improve on them with the technology of the Distant Future.
* CuteMachines: An adorable round robot on roller skates and NerdGlasses.
* CutenessEqualsForgiveness: Rampaged through Cafe la Geen to make their coffee but was forgiven for being adorable.
* HarmfulToMinors: They're the youngest member of the heroes, but unfortunately heard the lovemaking of Yusei and Kiryu, not that they realized.
* InSeriesNickname: "Little One" by the majority of the cast.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: The final interlude of the story has him gain the ability to duel, implied to be of Dr. Fudo's doing.
* RollerbladeGood: Travels around via rollerskates.

!Allies
!!Spirits

Akira's big bro, former leader of the Crusaders, and a local businessman.
----
* BadassBiker: Just like Akira, but he's capable of driving a D-Wheel up a tower.
* BigBrotherInstinct: And just like in life, he's always making sure to come to Akira's aid.
* BigDamnHeroes: Saves Jaeger from his death after Yusei threw him out a window.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: Outside of the Matango-induced psychic powers, Matsu was essentially a burly brawler. Here, he's still a brawler but now he has future vision.
* GoodCounterpart: Just like in the game, he is this to Streibough. While Streibough once again is the cause of events that has the Seven Heroes involved, Lawless does his best to steer things along. Streibough is possessed by Odio but lost his humanity, Lawless is blessed by the Crimson Dragon and gets to stay in the land of the living.
* InhumanEyeConcealers: He always wore shades in his game, but their function is to hide his pure white eyes this time around.
* InSeriesNickname: Always called "Lawless", except for Akira calling him "Matsu", instead of his full name Kenichi Matsui.
* HiddenDepths: Akira implies that Lawless is a huge [=JoJo=] fan as he calls Yusei's shadow blob a Stand and gives them the name "Purple Star"The real Stand is named Star Platinum. and "Starman". The author notes reveal that if Lawless got a stand, it'd be called Evil Eye.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: Good luck avoiding the spoilers that he killed Akira's dad and then died as atonement.
* OddFriendship: With Carly Nagisa. She's a dorky, clumsy journalist. He's a badass biker and ex-delinquent.
* PreAsskickingOneLiner: Like in the game, his is "I'm a local businessman!"
* ProphetEyes: Under his shades are pure white eyes. Justified since he's a spirit.
* ShoutOut: Lawless has future vision, wears shades to cover his eyes, fights with his fists, and has an over-the-top hairdo. Any relationship to Garnet, perhaps?
* SunglassesAtNight: Always wears shades even when indoors. Justified as they cover his white eyes.
* YouCantFightFate: No matter how hard he tries to warn everyone, he's powerless against the Dark Signers' machinations.

Lei's fellow disciples, both victims to the Indomitable Fist.
----
* Acrofatic: Hong is known to be pleasantly plump, but that doesn't stop him from fighting Divine.
* BigDamnHeroes: Both of them save the heroes from Akiza and Divine's wrath. The former saves Lei from Black Rose Dragon's attack, the latter punches Divine out before he can brainwash Pogo, Oboro, and Sundown.
* HealthyInHeaven: Hong was known for his girth, but being a spirit means he's spry and active.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Yun has a purple bandanna and his martial arts are strong enough to stop an attack from Black Rose Dragon.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Peach buns for Hong, as he's first seen in the Daimon area eating one.
* UndeadChild: The boys were only teens/young adults when they were robbed of their lives.

The previous shifu of the Earthen Heart, who died content that Lei would preserve his martial art.
----
* CoolOldGuy: A kind, elderly man who is respected by the other spirits in the afterlife.
* DiedInYourArmsTonight: Defied. He died collapsing onto the floor of the temple of the Iron Fist, albeit peacefully and with dignity over how Ou Di Wan Lee will never terrorize anyone ever again, but Lei states that it would've been better if he died in her arms.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: He's only called "Shifu" The credits of the Imperial China chapter reveals his name is "Roshi".
* NiceGuy: He's kind and courteous to everyone. Even to Alethea, who is indirectly responsible for Yun and Hong's deaths.
* ShoutOut: Lawless jokingly calls him Master Shifu.

A knight of Lucrece, meant to be its savior from the dreaded Lord of the Dark...until a certain backstabber ruined his reputation, resulting in him turning into a demon who would raze the kingdom before terrorizing seven different parts of history, until the Seven Heroes made him see the light again.
----
* AbdicateTheThrone: By all means, he's technically the next king of After-Lucrece, but turns it down due to his sins.
* AscendedDemon: He's the atoning, former demon king who obtained wings, making him a guardian angel of sorts.
* TheAtoner: He joins the heroes as a way to atone for his crimes as Odio.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: A blond haired knight who is hoping to redeem himself.
* HeroesPreferSwords: Fitting for a knight, he wields a sword.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: Knowing anything about Oersted is a huge spoiler for Live A Live itself.
* NoSympathy: Even he has no sympathy for Jaeger begging for someone to save his wife and son, most likely because he sees the cowardly Minister who ordered the knights to ruin "the Lord of the Dark's" reputation after seeing the king dead.
* PowerGivesYouWings: He's blessed with crimson wings thanks to the Crimson Dragon themselves.
* SixthRanger: Eighth Ranger in this case, but Oersted officially works alongside the original seven instead of staying back with Yun, Hong, or Lawless.

Father of Yusei Fudo who helped harness the Momentum energy that powers Neo-Domino.
----
* FriendlyGhost: He's kind and courteous towards Cube and the others. It's also implied that he helped give Cube upgrades so they can also duel.

!!Kira
A SplitPersonality of Akira who is a psychic manifestation of Akira's suppressed emotions regarding the Dark Signers affair.
-----
* AppropriatedAppellation: He gets his name from Kiryu always calling Akira "Kira-kun".
* BrutalHonesty: Like Akira, he's not afraid to be frank with Akiza's bitching and moaning and bitching and bitching and bitching.
* CompositeCharacter: Of Season 0 Yami Yugi and Yami Marik. For the former, Kira is the protector for his other half with crimson eyes. For the latter, he's a manifestation of Akira's rage and has no problems being cruel if it gets the job done.
* Foreshadowing: Before revealing himself to Akiza, Misty gave Akira a shirt with an angel on it.
* GodzillaThreshold: Only gets unleashed when Akira is helpless to fight against an adversary...such as Akiza's anger and psychic powers. Bonus points is that he unleashes a Duel Monsters version of this trope when he decides to summon Ritual Beast Ulti-Gaiapelio to deal with Akiza's Black Rose Dragon.
* MeaningfulName: Just like Akira, his name can mean "ray of light", reflecting the "hope" Akira needed to pummel Akiza in their duel.
* PowerGivesYouWings: When he first appears in the Fortune Cup, he gains three pairs of wings.
* PsychoticSmirk: He mostly grins like a madman when fighting Akiza.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: His eyes glow crimson when he takes control over Akira.
* ShownTheirWork: The wings Kira obtains -- three pairs, one over his eyes, one on his back, one wrapped around his legs -- are Biblically accurate to seraphim.
* SuperPoweredEvilSide: Downplayed in that he's not evil, but he's essentially a more powerful version of Akira who isn't afraid to hurl insults at his opponents.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Downplayed. He usually considers himself and Akira as different people so anything related to his other self has him bring up Akra's name.
* TokenEvilTeammate: He's on the heroes' side, but can resort to brutal tactics and cruel insults, up to SlutShaming.
* WalkingSpoiler: Mentioning anything about him means spoiling Akira's troubled state of mind.

!!Humans

A hacker and former Tag-Team duelist from Satellite.
-----
* DemotedToExtra: Played an important role in the Fortune Cup trying to get Rally and the others to safety, but
* UnexplainedRecovery: [[spoiler:Kiryu pulled out his soul and ate it, yet he appears in the Fortune Cup without a scratch on him. However, Akira reads his mind to find something off. A later chapter reveals that when a Dark Signer eats someone's soul, they end up brainwashing them.]]

A persistent Security cop who despises those from Satellite...initially.
----
* HeelFaceTurn: Like in canon, he changes his mind after realizing the Tops propaganda was utter bullshit.
* HeelRealization: He realizes how big of a douche he is after Akira talks about his life and of an orphan named Taka who idolizes Security.
* MirrorCharacter: To Akira's dad, Tadashi Tadokoro. Both are cops who work to fight off ruffians who roam the streets, but Tadashi knew something was up with the government yet went along with it while Trudge was brainwashed by Tops propaganda.

A reporter with prominent nerd glasses who is trying to make a name for herself.
----
* AdaptationalRomanceDowngrade: Unlike canon's...handling of her relationship with Jack, here she doesn't know him at all and is implied to become closer to Misty.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Wished for a news sensation so huge that people would go to her for info...that turned out to be
* OddFriendship: With Lawless. She's a dorky, clumsy journalist and he's a dead ex-delinquent/taiyaki guy.
* TakeThisJobAndShoveIt: The success of the Seven Heroes fighting the Black Rose Witch on her blog gave her the courage to quit her job and go freelance.

A scientist who is a good friend of Akira.
----
* MisterExposition: He's the one who explains the BanOnMagic which affected the heroes' world thanks to Streibough's actions.

A scholar who is hoping to aid Leo and Luna in their future battles against the dark.
----
* AscendedExtra: Only appeared for one duel against Luna then vanished. He has a more supporting role trying to get Leo and Luna's powers to manifest.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: Was presumably comatose after his duel with Luna, but Akira helps him wake up from the trance he was in.

!Dark Signers

* AdaptationalSexuality: Yusei had ShipTease with Akiza and it was unknown what Kiryu's orientation was outside of subtext that he and Yusei were once close. They're both gay and hopelessly in love with one another here.
* AffablyEvil: The original five Dark Signers are much more jovial than their grim-laced counterparts in the anime. But they're still, you know, Dark Signers.
* TheBadGuysWin: spoiler:By the end of Act 1, everything goes just as they planned. By taking advantage of Akira losing control of his power, they allow him to wreck the minds of Neo-Domino, turning the city to their personal dark paradise, several people are now their puppets, and finally tear Security a new one.
* CuteAndPsycho: Yusei, Kiryu and Crow, especially when the former's talking about turning people into subservient puppets in a sing-song manner.
* EvilIsOneBigHappyFamily: In contrast to the anime, the Dark Signers see themselves as a family and love each other very much.
* FallenHero: Yusei, Crow, and Leo are this compared to their canon counterparts.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Misty is the only female Dark Signer so far.
* UnholyMatrimony: Kiryu and Yusei initially, then they add Crow to make themselves a throuple.
* YourSoulIsMine: The Dark Signers love to steal and devour the souls of their victims.

!!Roman Goodwin
The instigator of Zero Reverse and older brother of Rex Goodwin.
----
* InSeriesNickname: "Father" or "Father Roman" as he's considered the Dark Signers' patriarch.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Most of his scenes have him confined to Momentum. Justified in that he has to keep his identity hidden until the fated Day of Destiny.
* TeamDad: As the eldest of the Dark Signers, to which the others call him "Father".

!!Kiryu Kyosuke
The leader of The Enforcers and former friend of Yusei Fudo wanting revenge on the cruel world that pulled him to prison.
----
* AxCrazy: Is he ever. He's so batshit insane that he can make Sundown momentarily terrified.
* CompositeCharacter: He's revealed to moonlight as the Duel Reaper in this continuity, whereas it was another (unnamed) duelist who took that moniker.
* TheGrimReaper: He's the Duel Reaper and pulls out the souls of people.
* EvilLaugh: Is fond of maniacally laughing at the face of the heroes, knowing that they can't do anything to put him down so long as their dueling sucks.
* HeroKiller: He
* PunchCatch: Does this when Masaru tries to sock him.
* Troll: His modus operandi is usually to piss people off before he gets serious.

!!Misty Lola
A famous supermodel who wants revenge on the Arcadia Movement for the death of her brother.
----
* CoolBigSis: Acts like one for Yusei, Kiryu, and Crow, due to them being a few years older than them and because she has experience with children because of her little brother.
* CursedWithAwesome: Being undead is beneficial to her job since she never ages nor gains weight.
* GreenEyedMonster: She's a Dark Signer and she is envious at how Akiza has a family while her little brother is dead. By the latter's hands. Bonus points in that her signature color is green.
* Foil: Of Lei. Both have lost people close to them -- Lei lost Yun, Hong, and the shifu, Misty lost her brother -- but Lei learned to move forward as she knows that the three are always with her in spirit, while Misty ended up dying in despair before being reborn. Lei does not pursue vengeance, as she already avenged Yun and Hong's death by defeating Ou Di Wan Lee and has no hard feelings towards Oersted, while Misty wants nothing more than to have Akiza and Divine's heads on spikes. While both of them are the sole females of the heroes, Lei is a tomboyish martial arts expert while Misty is a refined fashion model. Lei is known to wear red, while Misty's signature color is green. Their decks are also mirrors to one another -- Lei uses the Harpie Ladies who soar in the sky, while Misty uses Reptiliannes who slither across the earth.
* FriendlyEnemy: Even as a Dark Signer she can be polite, gifting the New Signers earbuds for blocking out horny sounds and a shirt for Akira after he scraped his chest.
* TheTeamBenefactor: By benefit of actually holding a job, Misty provides supplies for her family with the salary she gets as a fashion model.

!!Yusei Fudo
The hero of Neo-Domino in an alternate timeline, who drowned while trying to save his friend.
----
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: By virtue of dying, he has had his heart shattered when Jack betrayed him, not to mention how he learned of Kiryu's fall from grace.
* AffectionateNickname: "Starfish" by Kiryu.
* DoubleMeaning: The MC calls him "Cold-Hearted Yusei" which reflects his Ice Barrier deck and that his heart has turned cold after being revived and how he was betrayed by Jack.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: When in disguise, he keeps his hair down and his yellow highlights are removed, both to make him look similar to Misty and also symbolizing how he's going against his father's wishes to be the hope of the city.
* HeroicSacrifice: Drowned while trying to save Rally after Jack tied him to a boat in the waters of Satellite.
* IcyBlueEyes: When using a glamor, his eyes are cold to reflect his new attitude and his Ice Barriers.
* ItsPersonal: While it was already personal in the anime, the fic really has him despise Jack for abandoning him to drown, since he's (un)dead here.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: His reward for saving Rally was to die and be reborn as a Dark Signer.
* RedBaron: "Cold-Hearted Yusei".
* TragicIceCharacter: Uses the Ice Barriers and is nothing but a broken soul who died trying to save Rally and having to watch his brother betray him, on top of seeing Kiryu go insane and hauled to the Facility and Crow leaving the coop.

!!Crow Hogan
One of Yusei's friends growing up who ends up throwing himself into the Netherworld in a bid for freedom.
----
* FeatherMotif: The only one who gets wings to invoke a fallen angel and also associated with his Blackwings.
* Flight: Befitting someone who has wings, Crow has the ability to fly without a care.
* FriendToAllChildren: He is close to the children of Satellite and was convinced to be a Dark Signer to create a paradise where kids never have to deal with sorrow.
* PowerGivesYouWings: He gains black feathery wings as a Dark Signer.

!!Leo
A young boy who aspires to be a powerful duelist, unfortunately caught in the crossfire.
----
* AffectionateNickname: "Little Lion" by Misty.
* CreepyChild: What was once a KidHero is now an UndeadChild. Subverted in that he only acts like this when in a trance and doesn't seem to realize he is dead.
* DiesDifferentlyInTheAdaptation: Died when his lifepoints dropped to 0 by Aporia's nanomachines in the anime, killed by psychic feedback in the fanfic.

!!Rex Goodwin
Head of Sector Security and younger brother of Roman Goodwin.
----
* DestinationDefenestration:
* DidntThinkThisThrough: His idea to get Yusei and Jack to Neo-Domino was to have Jaeger to convince Jack to steal Yusei's D-Wheel and Stardust Dragon then expect Yusei to follow. Somewhere down the line, it never bothered him to just ask both of them to go to Neo-Domino.
* MirrorCharacter: To the King of Lucrece, as it's their actions which ultimately spell doom to their hometowns. Like the King of Lucrece held the tournament that led to Oersted winning the hand of his daughter, and subsequently made Streibough unleash his plan to make his friend be the most despised man in Lucrece, it's his decision to make Jaeger convince Jack to come to Neo-Domino that leads to the death of Yusei and the Seven Heroes to fix up his mess, along with him creating a tournament to draw out the Signers.

!Security

Goodwin's toadie whose tempting words made Jack commit the worst mistake in his life.
----
* AintTooProudToBeg: After he starts worrying that his family was a target of the Dark Signers, he begs the heroes to save them. The heroes refuse since Jaeger has to pay for his sins.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: He didn't think as to how Jack would obtain Stardust Dragon and his D-Wheel.
* DirtyCoward: Acts smug as a member of Security while blackmailing Akira over the fates of Rally and the others on the line if he doesn't participate in the Fortune Cup but cowers when Masaru gets his hands on him.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Has a wife and son who he loves. Unfortunately, this isn't enough for the heroes to pity him.
* IHaveAFamily: Shouts this to Masaru as a reason to spare him. Masaru doesn't buy it because Jaeger doesn't feel sorry for the thousands of Satellites who lost their families.
* MirrorCharacter: He plays the role of the cowardly Minister from Live A Live who gets the ball rolling in the plot. The Minister jumps to the conclusion that Oersted is a demon that leads him to the path to become a pawn of Odio, whereas Jaeger temps Jack into becoming a puppet figure to Goodwin so he can summon the Crimson Dragon. And both are complete cowards who hide in fear when the person they accuse want their heads.
* MoralMyopia: Begs for someone to save his wife and son, but doesn't care for others who are suffering under the propaganda Security created and how his actions led to Yusei drowning.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Cup ramen, as he's shown happily buying them while Mikage is annoyed.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: His offer to Jack on being a king is what caused this mess in the first place, since Jack's decision to put Rally on a boat for Yusei to save inadvertently led Yusei to die.

Secretary of Jack Atlas who pushes Jack to maintain his image of the king. Also desires him in a sexual manner.
-----
* AdaptationalJerkass: A DoggedNiceGuy in the show, she's known to be quite abrasive and also delusional of Jack being the pristine white knight from the Tops, not a Satellite.
* DoggedNiceGuy: Always tries to be supportive of Jack in being a true king but mostly so he falls in love with her and he can bed her.
* Foil: To Lei. Lei is a rough and tumble tomboy wearing red, Mikage is a feminine secretary wearing blue. Lei has no love interest, Mikage heavily crushes on Jack.
* FreudianSlip: Accidentally lets loose that she wants Jack (age 18) to bed her, causing everyone present to look at her in disgust.
* HateAtFirstSight: Despises Lei for many reasons, main one being Lei disguising herself as her to kidnap Jack.
* IRejectYourReality: Is in utter denial that her white prince is actually a Satellite.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Her abrasiveness might be overboard, but she's not wrong to hate the New Signers. Whatever excuse they have does not hold water in that they're indirectly at fault in making Jack a broken wreck and they have committed crimes of impersonating a public figure and kidnapping.
* MirrorCharacter: If Jack is a foil to Oersted, Mikage is the mirror to the little boy from Lucrece who still supported the knight. The boy was innocent and still had a child-like faith that Oersted was a hero, whereas Mikage says she still sees Jack as a king but only so she can butter him up and have him fuck her in bed.
* YouGetMeCoffee: One of her jobs is to get coffee for Jack, which Akira uses to his advantage by having Lei wear a glamor to pick up Jack's usual order.

A former member of the Enforcers and brother of Yusei and Crow. His desire to become King ended up causing the tragedy to unfold.
-----
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Was this early in the story thanks to Divine, most likely to suppress any idea of rebelling or going back over what he did to Yusei.
* CompositeCharacter: He's essentially the Streibough of the story. He manipulates events to make Yusei (Oersted) look bad, refuses to talk about his problems, and shows no pity over what he caused in thousands of people traumatized.
* CripplingOverspecialization: Jack's tactis are about pummeling his opponent before unleashing his Red Archfiend Dragon; he doesn't have anything to protect himself from banishing, as all it takes is Akira discarding Dimensional Shifter to utterly wreck him.
* CurbStompBattle: Akira easily defeats him during their battle in the end of Act 1...all before things take a turn for the worse.
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** He's disgusted with how Mikage pines for him and states how she wants him in bed with her.
** Even he thinks Streibough is a piece of shit for what he did to Oersted.
** Despite what he did to escape Satellite, he does not approve of kidnapping Rally and the others and imprisoning them in a locked storage container unite without food, water, blankets or oxygen.
* Foil: Befitting him being the [=5Ds=] version of Oersted in this story, Jack is a mirror to every single Hero.
** Pogo: Pogo fought to keep Beru safe and they end up falling in love with each other (and having a child). Jack cares only for himself and finds Mikage lusting over him to be disgusting. Pogo's antics with Gori is more FriendlyRivalry and they have each others' backs, Jack grew up with Yusei but he was willing to betray his brother at a moments' notice. Pogo is TheHeart of the group and always gives out hugs when others are distressed, Jack is completely apathetic to others.
** Lei: Lei was previously a bandit but turned a leaf after the shifu took her in as a student. Jack stole Yusei's dreams (and later his life) for himself. Lei lost everyone she cared for thanks to Ou Di Wan Lee and moved forward by teaching the Earthen Heart techniques to children while Jack indirectly killed Yusei and moves forward in order to escape his past as a Satellite. Lei is mentioned to care for the orphans under Martha's tutelage while Jack is quick to drown a child for his dreams (and never thought of Martha during the time).
** Oboro: He had a choice between going a pacifist route or killing everyone in sight, like Jack had the choice to take Stardust Dragon and the D-Wheel in a way that didn't lead to someone dying. Oboro learned to put trust in others thanks to Ryoma, Jack chose not to open up about this decision to Yusei and jetted thanks to Jaeger's offer. Oboro is a ninja who is mostly silent and wears black, Jack is a braggart of a duelist who wants everyone to look at him and wears white.
** Sundown: Both are LonelyAtTheTop but Sundown was motivated by tragedy after losing everyone and Jack by glory, and didn't care who he stepped on. Sundown decided to gain companionship with Mad Dog after saving the citizens of Success Town, whereas Jack refuses to go back to Satellite to make amends.
** Masaru: While both want to be at the top, Masaru refuses to cheat and fights his opponents fairly, whereas Jack's opponents were rigged from the start by Goodwin. Masaru seeks strength as something to hone one's spirit, while Jack has nothing but his fleeting glory before it all comes crashing down. Masaru is known for his low IQ (25) but makes up for it with being observant, whereas Jack grew up in Satellite (thus having lower chances of education) but also makes several bone-headed decisions that cost him personally.
** Akira: Both of them are cocky, hot shots who use a Fire-themed monster as their ace (The LIGHT Ritual Beast Ulti-Apelio for Akira, and the DARK Red Archfiend Dragon for Jack) and grew up in an orphanage. But Akira was able to keep his morals thanks to Lawless, whereas Jack could care less about others if it meant getting what he wanted despite being raised by Martha. Jack was chosen to do great things by Goodwin due to him having Red Archfiend Dragon, but it's Akira who steps up as the true hero even though he doesn't have a destiny like Jack did. Akira worries about the safety of everyone at Bright Sparks Orphanage, particularly his little sister and Taeko, whereas Jack hasn't show any concern for Martha ever since leaving for Neo-Domino. Akira treats Rally like a little brother whereas Jack was quick to throw the boy into a boat just to get his ticket out.
** Cube: A robot who learned to understand humanity and compassion to others, something Jack sorely lacks. Cube is also not afraid to defend themselves, like when he used his Maser Cannon on Kiryu, while Jack refuses to lift a finger to help Satellite and is helpless against the Dark Signers.
** Oersted: Both of them are blond haired warriors whose actions led to tragedies, but Oersted's was a complete misunderstanding caused by Streibough wanting to ruin his name, whereas Yusei was nothing but loving and kind to his brother before Jack screwed everything up for glory. Oersted even compares Jack demanding Rally, Nervin, Tank, and Blitz free to how he unleashed the killing blow on Odio but while Oersted's was shown in a positive light as him breaking free of the hatred that imprisoned him, Jack's act is a complete slap in the face due to this coming after everything else he caused and how he's not sorry about it. Oersted is technically the next king of Lucrece while Jack is seen as the Riding King.
* Hypocrite:
** Is angry at how Rally, Nervin, Blitz, and Tank are being held for ransom for Akira to enter the Fortune Cup yet he didn't give two fucks about making Rally a pawn to make Yusei swim out to the water so he can steal his stuff and leave for Neo-Domino.
** He finds what Streibough did to Oersted to be over the top, but then again he's no better.
* LackOfEmpathy: He didn't care that he let Rally be tied to a boat in the middle of a storm nor of the possibility that Yusei would die. All he wanted was a ticket out of the Satellite.
* LonelyAtTheTop: Implied; he's the Riding King but he has no one to share his fame with and he's come to regret his decisions, not that he'll admit it.
* PetTheDog: Deconstructed; he demands Rally and the others be free so that he and Akira can duel without stipulations. But this is coming after it was revealed how low Jack stooped to become Riding King and it acts more like a slap to the face.
* PoorCommunicationKills: At no point did it come to him to tell Yusei about Jaeger's deal and this led to him indirectly killing Yusei.
* ShadowArchetype: Jack is a dark mirror to the original heroes (and Oersted) as he constantly shows that he cares for only himself, doesn't think about consequences, and causes more tragedies than miracles.
* TheyJustDontGetIt: No matter how many times you drill it into his head, Jack doesn't understand how he's the cause of everything in this story.

!Arcadia Movement

A powerful psychic and leader of the Arcadia Movement, hoping to make the world his playground.
----
* BigBadWannabe: He wants to prove himself as a dangerous force, but the New Signers can defeat him without fancy skills and he has no true defense against Akira's psychic abilities.
* EvilCounterpart:
** To Lawless. They're both the mentor figures of a Psychic but Divine only sees Akiza as a weapon, while Lawless sees Akira as a little brother. Divine is a Psychic, Lawless is a human (technically a spirit) with future vision. They both killed someone, but Divine intentionally murdered Toby when he ended up not being useful to him and shed no tear, while Lawless was an act of self-defense against Tadashi Tadokoro and he spent the rest of his life atoning for it. Divine is a red-haired man wearing green, Lawless is a green-haired man wearing a black/red jacket.
** To Akira. Again, they're both psychics but Divine manipulates others to believe in his praise of an uprising, while Akira lives by his own rules. Both of them are red-haired psychics wearing green, but Divine dresses in a classy waistcoat and Akira decides to dress in spikes, studs, and a jacket with no shirt. Both use Psychic-type archetypes, but Divine's is a full Psychic deck that relates to how he isolates potential students to his cult, while Akira has a combination of Psychic and other types, equating to how he works with others.
* KarmaHoudini: Downplayed; while he still has control of Akiza by the end of Arc 1, he's been hit by and the Dark Signers are ready to torture him.
* ShadowArchetype: He's essentially the Earthen Heart shifu if he decided to create an army to serve his needs.
* SquishyWizard: Strong psychic powers but crumples like wet tissue when someone gets a punch or kick in.
* UncertainDoom:

A prominent psychic who goes under the alias of the "Black Rose Witch".
----
* AdaptationalSympathy: Trope. Whereas Yusei tried to reach out to Akiza in canon, and Lei sympathizes with her in the fanfic, Akira show no pity for her because she's still responsible for the events that pushes people away and never tried calling or messaging her parents.
* CurbStompCushion: Loses to Akira (again) in the Fortune Cup but whittled his lifepoints to 400 (which was actually how much lifepoints Yusei had in their duel).
* FatalFlaw: Rage. She's so full of anger and hatred towards herself and everyone who hurt her that it makes her incredibly blind to many things, whether it's to simple solutions that could solve her problems, to people who wish to help her, or making her unable to focus in her dueling.
* Foil:
** To Lei, both of them being teenage girls associated with red and become adopted by a teacher to hone their skills. But while Lei learns to open her heart thanks to her shifu's compassion, Akiza becomes more isolated and angry due to Divine's manipulations. Akiza was morphed into a weapon, Lei became a successor to a school of martial arts.
** She's a foil to Akira due to them both being psychics who feel like outsiders, but Akira was raised in a loving orphanage while Akiza was brainwashed and groomed by Divine and his cult. Akira's parents are dead whereas Akiza's parents are still alive but are distant with her. Moreover, Akiza's psychic powers manifested in rage of her father focusing on work over her, while Akira's powers manifested after the death of his father. Akiza's powers are specifically from Duel Monsters, Akira's powers are all about mentally disabling the opponent or generating fire and ice.
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: points out to her that she's responsible for her own goddamn misery because she's refusing to listen to others who are trying to help her, refused to call or email her parents to ask for help, and that she's still making the conscious choice to hurt others.
* GrassIsGreener: Hates Lei because she assumes the shifu has a better life and has it all together. reveals that no, Lei actually has it much worse than Akiza. Her parents were abusive, she lived all by herself outside of the village, and she saw everyone she loved died (Yun and Hong by Indomitable Fist goons and her shifu died, albeit peacefully, after the defeat of Ou Di Wan Lee.) She also assumes Akira's life is better than hers, not knowing that Akira's been raised in an orphanage for most of his childhood and learned that his big brother figure killed his dad (who was working for the wrong side).
* HonorBeforeReason: She could have easily ended the duel against Akira if she played Ruddy Rose Dragon, but refuses because Akira's not worth such a Synchro Summon. This ends up biting her in the ass than if she just summoned Ruddy Rose.
* Hypocrite: Hates how the MC calls Akira "Satellite's Psychic" while she's labeled as a witch. She immediately calls Spiritual Beast Tamer Winda a witch even though she's actually a Psychic-type.
* InSeriesNickname: calls her "Black Rose Bimbo" due to her attire -- which includes short skirt, thigh-high stockings and garter-belt, not to mention how she's well developed in the torso area -- along with her being a total idiot who can't use common sense to talk to her parents of her problems.
* NeverMyFault: Refuses to admit that it's her fault that people hate her or how she could've gotten her parents to notice her problems if she just spoke to them.
* PsychopathicWomanchild: Without a proper friend in need, her attitude has been twisted into a psychic psycho who attacks like a spoiled child.
* Sadist: She loves playing with her opponents, slamming Akira to the ground with Rose Tentacles and seeks pleasure in making people suffer. This gets deconstructed as she's so focused on the pain that she doesn't pay attention to the duel, losing to who is much more level-headed.
* SanityHasAdvatnages: She's a dangerous psychic to be sure with Black Rose Dragon turning parts of the stadium to rubble, but her desires to inflict pain on others and inability to accept her faults makes her completely outclassed by the level-headed Akira who has defeated her twice. Even in her brief encounter with Lei, she was capable of bouncing back Black Rose Dragon without breaking a sweat.
* SlutShaming: Gets the five-letter-insult-starting-with-b hurled at her by the heckling audience, then , and when out of earshot, Yusei.
* SomethingAboutARose: She has a huge rose motif and a moniker of "Black Rose Witch".
* VillainousBreakdown: As Akira tears into her worldview during their rematch, she starts breaking down in agony when she's unable to accept that she's responsible for her own misery. By the time Akira actually hears her mentally begging for help, he refuses to look her way.
* UnskilledButStrong: Akiza doesn't have any formal training to control her powers -- not counting her lessons at Arcadia Movement -- but makes up for it with the sheer destruction they can cause, destroying chunks of the stadium through Black Rose Dragon alone.
* WhyDontYouJustShootHim: In her Fortune Cup match against Akira, Akira states that she should just end the duel with her Ruddy Rose Dragon as he has nothing to stop them (since Ruddy Rose banishes every card in both players' graveyards AND Ruddy Rose nukes everything on the field except themselves). Akiza refuses because she finds Akira unworthy to fight her and solely sticks to Black Rose Dragon. Unfortunately, she should've listened to Akira as he ends up metaphorically destroying her when his Ritual Beast Ulti-Gaiapelio whomps her.

!After-Lucrece (Spoilers)

Oersted's former friend whose bitterness sent the knight into despair... and his bitterness didn't stop here.
----
* AllForNothing: The machinations he made to frame Oersted ended up destroying everything he wanted and the latter redeemed himself at the very end.
* BigBadWannabe: He made a deal with Odio to get revenge, but he's overall pathetic when put into a real fight, resulting in an early defeat when he first invades Neo-Domino. And the vengeful spirits of the Magi and Psychics who died in the Witch Hunts he indirectly incited are shielding those from the Seven Heroes' Earth from his wrath even in death.
* HateSink: Like in the game, he's a vile piece of entitlement who doesn't care who he hurts so long as he gets power and recognition.
* HatedByAll: The one who did this to Oersted gets that turned on him after the spirits find out. Unfortunately for them, once he becomes the new Lord of Dark, he is able to turn his kingdom into his puppets with their hatred. Worse almost everyone indirectly killed by his actions despise him.
* MythologyGag: His demon form is taken from the VideoGame/OctopathTravelerChampionsOfTheContinent collab.
* NeverMyFault: Still didn't learn a thing from the first Odio incident and is angry tha Oersted gets glory again.
* PyrrhicVictory: He manipulated everything so he could one day gain the throne and the hand of the Princess... but at the cost of losing his life, the kingdom of Lucrece annihilated, his friend rebuilding himself as a hero, everyone hating his guts in the afterlife, and Alethea eventually leaves him.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: His demon form has white hair and his heart is black as sin.

The Princess of Lucrece whose suicide ended up turning her husband-to-be into the Lord of the Dark.
----
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Wanted to be with her beloved Streibough... and so Oersted stepped down so they can be together. And the two now hate each other due to the Lucrece disaster they both caused.
* FemalesAreMoreInnocent: Nope; all of Lucrece hates her for being just as guilty in having them die like her beloved Streibough.
* InSeriesNickname: "Lady Judas" for being the one to betray everyone in Lucrece and also because she committed suicide, just like Judas hung himself after he realized what he did for those 30 pieces of silver.
* KarmicNod: Admits to Streibough that everyone in After-Lucrece has the right to forever hate her for stupidly killing herself without letting Oersted explain what happened.
* MustMakeAmends: She recognizes her fault to play in the fall of Lucrece that she leaves Streibough behind to better herself.
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: No one will ever let her forget that her stupid decision to kill herself before letting Oersted explain himself is the reason why Lucrece is destroyed. Not to mention that in medieval times, what she did is a felony of the highest order.
* PyrrhicVictory: Gets to be with her Streibough like she wished, but this comes after the destruction of Lucrece and rebirth of Odio that came from her stupidity.
* TookALevelInBadass: Went to training with Shifu and by the time she appears near the end of Story 1, she's already equipped with a crossbow and ready to raise hell.

The Lord of Dark that terrorized the Seven Heroes' Earth.
----
* AdaptationalWimp: He's not as strong as in canon, which is explain that the original seven, plus Oersted, severely weakened him. Plus Lawless states that he can only derive hatred from the souls of the Middle Ages, since that was the era where he enacted his reign.
