The music of ''VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins'' perfectly matches the epic scale of the game, from the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxkO9Q85EaA opening theme]] to the epilogue, and its sequel experiments with sounds unusual to the genre of High Fantasy.

[[AC:''Dragon Age: Origins'']]
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9hCUxXofYI theme that plays at the Joining]] really sets the tone; it perfectly brings home the enormity of the moment, and just how big of a sacrifice is being made. Bonus points that it has elements of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEc1OTFaWnI Sovereign's Theme.]]
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWFEVbfCcOY main theme of the game]] captures the epic feel of the story. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBQZnLP4FLI The Grey Warden theme]] is a variation of this that includes the Grey Warden's motto.
* The origin themes, especially [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcfSN9DQKOw Human Nobility]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z74J0mq284M Elves at the Mercy of Men]], a sad piece that fits in well with the overall feel of the Alienage.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4znk7GjWjF8 The Common Dwarf]]", which right from the start sets the tone of the [[TheCityNarrows dark underbelly]] of [[WretchedHive Orzammar]] that the Dwarf Commoner calls home.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fqf-iZv6Zg Ferelden at War]], which plays during the battle at Ostagar. The subdued opening slowly builds tension as the darkspawn come out of the forest until the armies finally charge. The sequence is bookended by the equally awesome [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0L1GZdlM9B8 The Betrayal]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17iacDJdRFU Tavern Brawl.]] The name speaks for itself.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imSBzGOm5rI "The Battle of Lothering Village"]]. Appears only in the titular town, and is never heard again afterwards. Unfortunately, [[PlayerCharacter the Warden]] and their party [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot leaves before the town is invaded by Darkspawn]], so there's no actual battle.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzYiqBj_GPY The Party Camp]]. It's only a little minute-long snippet, but it's beautiful. Especially considering that the camp is where you will end up having most actual conversations with your party members, which means this is the song that plays during many of the game's more emotional moments. It's odd how the vocals in that piece always seem to arrive at the right moment during your conversations with party members.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAANKFPchtA Leliana's Song]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy6fC0zJCRk at the party camp]]. Now you know why they call her a bard. It made it into the soundtrack album, and for good reason.
* ''Leliana's Song,'' as in her DLC. During her prison escape there's the aptly-named [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCDXMLf6XpA "Sorrow",]] which really fits the mood of this particular section of the quest. Also doubles as a TearJerker.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG36LCcTWb4 Battle For the Urn]]. Mostly heard while battling the dragon cultists at Haven. The distant voices in the background really capture the frenzied and strangely alien brutality of your attackers.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EzU46LHtIg This boss theme]] which is ''tragically'' not found on the game's official soundtrack. It first plays during the fight with the [[EldritchAbomination Broodmother]], and expresses the sheer [[NightmareFuel horror]] of the encounter (and all of its buildup) dead-perfectly.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlIzvk2h9kw The Deep Roads]] almost make up for their namesake level, almost sounding like a mash up of the Isengard theme from ''Lord of the Rings'' and the melodies from the first ''Gears of War''.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVmoHUG7aCI "A King Crowned"]], a very short piece that plays when the Warden's chosen candidate is crowned King of Orzammar. Regardless of who you think makes the better king, the music alone makes the moment a true AwesomeMomentOfCrowning.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eo1E_aQ7ZY Ruins of Ostagar]] perfectly conveys the enormity of the place and the grandeur it once had.
** Despite being called "Ruins of Ostagar" on the soundtrack CD, this theme is never used in the Ostagar scenes. It is actually the ''Orzammar'' theme, and is used there.
** The actual ''Ostagar'' theme can be heard during the first 40 seconds of the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5zIa4m0tmI "Betrayal"]] track on the soundtrack CD.
* The [[https://youtu.be/czWrHuiFvCA Coronation and epilogue music]] are a celebratory yet wistful tune that indicates no matter what actions the Warden took, Ferelden and Thedas will never quite be alright.
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJiyivcQb1k In Uthenera]].
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2pM5iPTlSg This Is War]], which plays during the game's credits.
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdKwLkEGjhg "I Am The One"]], the second credits song.
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUusiRBqtco Vigil's Keep Combat]], from the ''[[VideoGame/DragonAgeOriginsAwakening Awakening]]'' expansion.

[[AC:''Dragon Age II'']]
%%* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Oo0ScZRUEw main theme]].
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG4iUOngNXw Arishok Battle]] theme is pretty epic. Good thing too, because you'll be hearing it a lot considering he's ThatOneBoss.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSCq7jTL7tQ Fenris' Theme]]". Beautiful, melancholic and fitting for an elf who lost everything to Tevinter Magisters. And its counterpart, "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7tpL4cMvI0 Mage Pride]]", the TriumphantReprise for Anders' Mage Rebellion.
* This [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWfqzpLVtk4 battle theme]] from the Mark of the Assassin DLC makes the extended boss fight against Duke Prosper and Leopold that much more epic.
* The second part of the credits, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbOl7zoZHOw Rogue Heart]], is absolutely beautiful.
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cp2QHf9ePn8 "I'm Not Calling You a Liar"]].

[[AC:Trailers and other media]]
* The Grey Wardens 'Calling' trailer has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0olSKafPoQA some very understated music and an awesome voiceover]] that transitions into kickass metal.
* The ''Destiny'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32rH0OhqxQY trailer theme]], especially at the end. That wonderfully inspiring track playing as Hawke stomps towards the camera, ready to kick ass? That alone should sell you on the game.
* Not from the games, but inspired by them: Music/MiracleOfSound's [[http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/2965-Age-of-the-Dragon-Dragon-Age-2-Song Through The Age Of The Dragon.]]
