Bud Cort (born Walter Edward Cox; March 29, 1948 in New Rochelle, New York) is an American actor best known for his starring role in the Cult Classic Harold and Maude.

After some early bit parts, Cort's breakout role was in Robert Altman's original film of M*A*S*H, as Private Boone (who Frank Burns unfairly blames for a patient's death). Altman then cast him in the starring role of his next film, Brewster McCloud. After Harold and Maude Cort carved out a niche appearing in quirky movies, and also had a close Intergenerational Friendship with Groucho Marx in his last years. A near-fatal 1979 car accident stunted his career, but he gradually recovered and has become a prolific character actor, including a much-noticed appearance in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
