* Joshua's assessment of nuclear war:
-->'''A STRANGE GAME.\
THE ONLY WINNING MOVE IS NOT TO PLAY.'''
* The lead-up to this moment is pretty awesome in itself. David and Falken know that Joshua was programmed to "learn how to learn" -- in other words, to be able to make leaps in logic. They both [[AwesomenessByAnalysis realize that]] Joshua will hopefully figure out that if he plays one "unwinnable" game, i.e. TabletopGame/TicTacToe, then another game, like Global Thermonuclear War, might also be unwinnable. So they get Joshua to play himself at tic-tac-toe and stand back and hope for the best. The next five minutes are really nothing but everyone in the war room watching Joshua play tic-tac-toe on the main screen, and then playing countless scenarios of Global Thermonuclear War. It's an impressive achievement in film: turning a computer's thoughts into a heart-pounding light show. And ''it works perfectly!''
* When David and Jennifer [[WhatTheHellHero chew out Falken]] for refusing to contact NORAD and stop "Joshua" from tricking them into nuking everything. Jennifer points out that while Falken has given up on life with the deaths of his wife and son, ''she'' still wants to live and have a family of her own, and that it wasn't right for Falken to deny her that.
-->'''Falken:''' ''[watching scenes of stop motion dinosaurs from ''Film/OneMillionYearsBC'' playing on his projector]'' Did you know that no land animal with a body weight of over fifty pounds survived that age? Extinction is part of the natural order.\
'''David:''' BULLSHIT! ''[turns off the projector]'' If we're extinguished, there's nothing natural about that, it's just stupid!\
'''Falken:''' Oh, it's all right! I've planned ahead. We're just three miles from a primary target. A millisecond of brilliant light... and we're vapourised. ''Much'' more fortunate than the millions who'll wander sightless through the smouldering aftermath. We'll be spared the horror of ''survival''.\
'''Jennifer:''' I'm only 17 years old. I'm not ready to die yet.\
'''David:''' You won't make a simple phone call? ''[Falken says nothing]''\
'''Jennifer:''' If the ''real'' Joshua was still alive - ''your'' Joshua - you would do it, wouldn't you?\
'''Falken:''' Look, we might gain a few years, perhaps time enough for ''you'' to have a son - and watch him die. But humanity... planning its own destruction... ''that'', a phone call won't stop.\
'''David:''' This is unreal! You don't care about death 'cause you're already dead! I know a lot about you. I know you weren't always like this. [[ArmorPiercingQuestion What was the last thing you cared about?]]\
