'''Stray Ami''' is an audio production by [[Podcast/PonyInABoxProductions Universeinthebox]], with a CharacterNarrator of the protagonist, Blanc, the ImaginaryFriend of a girl named Andale, who had recently moved into town and is very lonely. Blanc tells us of their day-to-day life from his unique perspective.

The distinctly French sounding music and references to 'A great metal tower in the center of town' seem to indicate that the story takes place in France, but whether or not this is true has [[ShrugOfGod never been confirmed]] by the writers - although Andale's father is stated to "come from America" and her mom speaks with a French accent. The time period is also unconfirmed, but might be somewhere in the past. Numerous little things indicate there has been a war recently.

The show launched in January of 2014 and all episodes can be found on the [[http://universeinthebox.com/strayami studio website]].

!!This series provides examples of:

* AnimalMotifs: There seems to be a contrast between (not-wholly-imaginary - see the page quote) SavageWolves and the BigFriendlyDog Blank is.
* ArtificialLimbs: [[spoiler: Andale's brother has a wooden leg.]]
* BellisariosMaxim: Invoked within Andale's dream.
-->'''the Alchizard''': Dream logic! Don't question it much!
* BigFriendlyDog: Blanc is described as 'Coming up to Andale's hair' and generally wouldn't hurt a fly.
* CharacterNarrator: Blanc narrates most episodes.
* ConstantlyCurious: Blanc fits squarely into this trope. To him the world is a new place, he doesn't know a lot about it and constantly asks Andale what things are and how they are used.
* CatchPhrase: Blanc begins [[OnceAnEpisode every episode]] by saying 'Hello!'
* DreamLand: While Andale sleeps, Blanc goes to a strange place (in her subconscious) where the sky changes colors and the ground moves.
%%* DreamWalker: Blanc. %%not certain - he hasn't been in anybody's dream but Andale's, as of yet, and his existence seems to be dependent on her (her attention?)
* FairyTale: Andale tells Blanc a story about the wolves from the days when they used to live in the woods outside her house before they were hunted to extinction. Legend has it one of them survived...
* FantasyKeepsake: In ''Old House'', the bowler hat from the dream, but Blank ''is'' imaginary, so possibly that's to be expected of him.
* ForScience: The Alchizard, while not exactly a MadScientist, seems motivated by a desire to learn mostly. Also, [[SmartPeopleBuildRobots built robots]].
* TheGhost: Andale's brother and their parents until the fourth episode.
* GrowingUpSucks: Andale makes references to being younger and how things were better back then.
* ImaginaryFriend: Blanc - this is the premise of the entire show really. Blanc is a figment of Andale's imagination, created on her birthday so she wouldn't be alone. He knows this and is very eager to help Andale feel better.
* JourneyToTheCentreOfTheMind: ''Old House'', with the Alchizard as MissionControl [[spoiler: devolves into a NightmareSequence]].
* LeftFieldDescription: Blank, the narrator, has a gift for doing this kind of description. For instance, he notes that Ms. Lafeit, an unpleasant old lady, smells like when you bite into a chocolate chip cookie and find it full of raisins.
* LonelyPianoPiece: The episodes usually open with a calming theme tune on the accordion. During the sadder moments, you can usually expect a piano reprise.
* LonelyRichKid: Andale is described as having a very large, very empty house. Her father runs a factory and her mother is a fashion designer, she is very likely this.
* {{Metaphorgotten}}: Blanc's description of the Sun.
* MrImagination: Ms. in this case.
* MysteriousStranger: The Man Who Smells of Smoke, he apparently is another figment of Andale's imagination, but so far has only ever appeared in her dreams.
* NoNameGiven: Andale's parents [[spoiler: Annette and Henry]] are only named within their "letter" episodes, as they sign the letters. This might be justified by the fact Andale refers to them as mom and dad.
* NonPOVProtagonist: Andale.
* {{Portmanteau}}: The Alchizard irritably explains he's not a wizard, more an alchemist, so Blank decides to call him "Alchizard".
* ShellShockedVeteran: Some of Father's factory workers, [[spoiler: as well as his son, who came back from ''somewhere'' with a wooden leg and a bad case of PTSD]].
* ShoutOut: The Alchizard calls Blank "[[Series/DoctorWho canine]]".
-->'''the Alchizard''': Brave heart, canine.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Blanc has a taste for eggs.
* TheseusShipParadox: Blank and Andale discuss it in ''Broom'', using an old broom as an example, but he decides it's different for people (and flowers).
* TheQuietOne: Andale, since moving houses.
* VoiceoverLetter: ''A Letter'', and ''Factory'' are letters [[MultipleNarrativeModes written]] by Andale's mother and father, respectively.
