!!''Dooku: Jedi Lost'' provides examples of:

* ActionBomb: Plinovians have the ability to self-combust, as demonstrated by an ambassador who was offended by accusations of theft by an opposing ambassador during negotiations.
* AdaptationalJerkass: In ''Legends'', Dooku's unnamed father is described in supplementary books as being proud of his son's Force Connection and was at worst stern, and only gave him to the Jedi is because he and his wife have another son who can take his brother's place as heir. Here, [[NamedByTheAdaptation Gora]] considered him to be a freak as his connection to the Force becomes apparent and the reason for giving him up is more in line of FantasticRacism.
* AdventurerArchaeologist: Jedi Master Lene Kostana spends her time travelling the galaxy searching for Sith artifacts, believing that one day the Sith will return and that preemptively destroying or containing their relics would give the Jedi an edge in their future conflict.
* AlternateTimeline: Dooku has a Force vision of one, in which the Jedi forcibly take over the Senate. Notably it does not feature the Jedi from the Prequel Trilogy but a new character, Gretz Droom, who successfully kills Palpatine in the takeover. It is not shown if Palpatine was revealed as a Sith yet in this vision.
* AscendedExtra: Ky Narec, Ventress' old Jedi Master, appears. Previously he was only seen in a few brief flashbacks in one episode of ''[[WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars The Clone Wars]]''.
* BerserkButton: Count Gora is outraged anytime he encounters Dooku, considering his very existence to be a blight on his family line.
* {{Blackmail}}: Arath's gambling debts get him blackmailed by a crime lord on Coruscant, [[spoiler:and he ends up forcing his mother Yula Braylon to use her position on the Jedi Council to provide information to the blackmailer to protect himself]].
* CainAndAbel: Ramil attempts to kill Dooku after he attempts to halt Ramil's ruthless rule of Serenno, [[spoiler:but Dooku kills him instead after getting him at his mercy]]. Later, [[spoiler:Dooku has Asajj execute Jenza to cut off the final ties to his past]].
* CanonImmigrant:
** This story introduces Osika Kirske, who was part of Asajj Ventress's backstory in ''Legends'', into the Canon. Like in ''Legends'', he ordered Ky Narec's death.
** Master Lena Kostana's species, the Altiri, are from an RPG sourcebook released in 2010.
** The collection of dark side artifacts known as the "Bogan Collection" brings back the Bogan dark side concept into continuity.
* DeathByAdaptation: In ''Legends'', Kirske was killed by Ventress some time into the Clone Wars' first year, when she had already put her lot in with the Separatists. In this story, he was killed by Count Dooku before the war, leading to Ventress joining Dooku.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: The Core World Protobranch has cities hovering over the ground by gravity generators. Apparently, these generators had no protection against a solar storm, which caused the [[ColonyDrop cities to fall]] and wipe out much of the population.
* DoubleMeaningTitle: The "Jedi Lost" actually has a triple meaning title:
** The overall refers to Jedi who left the Jedi Order, either due to expulsion, falling to the dark side, or simply resigning. They are referred to as "Jedi Lost".
** Dooku would be the other Jedi lost. He resigns also and becomes a lost Jedi, looking for a purpose.
** Last would be Asajj, who is referred to as a lost Jedi by her GhostlyAdvisor Ky Narec.
* DreamingOfThingsToCome: While on Asusto, Dooku receives many visions of the future and hears voices of people he has yet to meet. This includes Sidious and Qui-Gon, before he took Qui-Gon as his Padawan.
* EldritchLocation: The Outer Rim world of Asusto, which is steeped in the dark side of the Force. The last coven of a dark side cult called the Presagers of Hakotei made the world their home until they were all killed by Dooku.
* FramingDevice: The book goes back and forth with the overall narration. First it is Dooku showing and telling Ventress of his past. Later it is Ventress viewing holograms of Dooku that a younger Dooku recorded in the first place to send to his sister. Again, when the letters stop Ventress reads Dooku's private journal. All of this is either heard in Ventress's voice or Dooku's voice.
* TheGamblingAddict: Among many of Arath's failings as a Jedi is his love of gambling, which puts him heavily in debt to several underworld figures who love having a Jedi in their pocket.
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: The various vision that Sifo-Dyas suffer from take a toll on his sanity, and the last one revolving on Dooku seems to be a breaking point.
* IHaveNoSon: Count Gora disowned Dooku after discovering he was Force-sensitive and would refuse to acknowledge their relationship.
* JobStealingRobot: A considerable amount of unrest builds on Serenno due to Count Gora's decision to replace both workers and the military with droids in many jobs across the planet.
* TheLoad: Any time Arath is involved in a mission, things are sure to go wrong due to his many vices.
* MeaningfulName: The Presages of Hakotei. The sages are wise people, if dark side leaning. The "pre" naming comes in when it is revealed they get their wisdom and base their judgments on visions of the future.
* MoralityPet: Jenza is one of the few people who can keep Dooku on the right path and check his more ruthless qualities. [[spoiler:After she realizes he is falling to the dark side and tries to turn to the Jedi for help, Dooku has Asajj assassinate her to fully embrace his path as a Sith Lord.]]
* MySecretPregnancy: It is revealed that [[spoiler:Arath is actually Master Yula Braylon's son. She became pregnant during the course of her duties as a Seeker, and was thus able to hide for the duration of her pregnancy. No one thought anything suspicious when Braylon brought a Force-sensitive baby to the Temple, as that was her duty]].
* NeverMyFault: Yoda, of all people engages in this behavior when he blames Master Kostana's influence for encouraging Dooku to break the Jedi Code by remaining in contact with his sister. He conveniently forgets that 1: Yoda was the one who took Dooku to visit his home planet, Serenno, where he was reunited with his sister, in the first place, and 2: Dooku only started to look up to Kostana after that.
* OffingTheOffspring: Gora attempts to do away with Dooku even after contacting the Jedi Order to take him away, leaving Dooku at the edge of the forest near his palace. The Seekers arrived and saved Dooku before the spine-wolves found and ate him.
* OneNameOnly: Dooku and his family have only one name.
* PortentOfDoom: While held captive by the Presagers of Hakotei on Asustos as they conduct a ritual, Dooku and Kostana get small glimpse of the future which include things do and do not come to pass, as well as some things whose truth is unknown, including Qui-Gon telling the Council of the Sith's return, the Jedi establishing a theocracy in control of the Republic after overthrowing the senate, and Master Kostana dying in Order 66.
* PlatonicLifePartners: Dooku and Sifo-Dyas are either this or HeterosexualLifePartners. They are shown to be very close and supportive of each other.
* {{Prequel}}: The main story takes place before the events of ''Film/AttackOfTheClones'', and flashes back to events from Dooku's past set long before ''Film/ThePhantomMenace''. The overall narration by Asajj takes place after ''Film/AttackOfTheClones'', since she met Dooku after those events.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: Dooku, Lene Kostana, and Sifo-Dyas do this frequently, bucking the Jedi Council's decisions if they view them as inconvenient or in the way of aiding people.
* StartOfDarkness: Covers the events of Dooku's past, including his time as a Jedi and his descent into becoming a servant of the dark side.
* TitleDrop: The titular "Jedi Lost" refer to Jedi who left the Jedi Order, due to expulsion or resignation. They are referred to as "Jedi Lost".
* TyrantTakesTheHelm: Although his father was no saint, once Ramil becomes Count of Serenno the planet descends into tyranny due to his poor skills as a ruler and disdain for the Republic. He even allies with Abyssan raiders to maintain his hold on the planet, allowing them free reign over the populace as his enforcers.
* YouTalkTooMuch: After Rael Averross challenges Dooku to a duel, he talks at him for a bit, causing Dooku to go on the attack and tell him that the talks too much.
