* In VideoGame/AquamanBattleForAtlantis, after his men bungle a mission to blow up an armory, Black Manta kills them.

* Franchise/BatmanArkhamSeries:
** VideoGame/BatmanArkhamAsylum has this with the Joker. One of his radio chatter lines uses the trope name word-for-word to the last two mooks that Batman is yet to take down. And once Harley Quinn is defeated by Batman, he doesn't kill her, but just tells her she's "off the party list".
** Towards the end of VideoGame/BatmanArkhamCity, [[spoiler:Professor Hugo Strange gets stabbed in the back (literally and figuratively) by his boss Ra's al Ghul for being defeated by Batman. It doubles as YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness and HeKnowsTooMuch, as the whole purpose of Strange's plan was to prove himself worthy of being Ra's's successor; his failure in doing so demonstrates not only that Ra's has no real use for him, but also that Strange is a liability. Unfortunately for Ra's, his pawn does not appreciate being cast aside and uses his dying breath to activate their shared base's self-destruct]].

* VideoGame/ShadowrunReturns (specifically, the third campaign, Hong Kong), features Yellow Lotus mob coordinator Kindly Cheng, who is anything but. She can tolerate ambitious subordinates. She does not tolerate defiance nearly so well, and absolutely will not accept incompetence from her subordinates. This is why she keeps Strangler Bao around despite the fact he's a DragonWithAnAgenda. Yes, Bao is a colossial prick and an ambitious son of a bitch to boot, but Cheng saw it coming and took steps to keep him in line because he's still useful to her--and since Bao was smart enough to back down when he was outmaneuvered, he gets to live. She casually mentions other very stupid people who did not get the memo about at least being competent and knowing how to read a situation--said idiots are now cluttering the bottom of the harbor.

* VideoGame/VampireTheMasqueradeBloodlines: Mercurio is already on thin ice with Prince [=LaCroix=] thanks to whatever happened in New York before the game starts, and when the player meets him, he's just flubbed a deal with some drug dealers and gotten beat to near death. After giving the player a rundown on what they must do, he asks them to not tell [=LaCroix=] about his latest screw-up. Telling him you'll snitch on him anyway results in Mercurio trying to kill you after you get the explosive he was asked for. Not telling him you'll snitch and then snitching results in [=LaCroix=] saying Mercurio will be "suitably punished", and the player never sees him again.

** In VideoGame/CommandAndConquerRedAlert, Stalin personally chokes a general who has failed to disable the Allied self-destruct device resulting in the loss of the Chronosphere, which you have just barely managed to capture. Stalin nearly has you killed over the same thing, before another officer interjects by explaining that the fault wasn't yours, it was -- you followed your instructions perfectly, but you weren't told about one of the communication centres in the area (the self-destruct could be deactivated by neutralizing the comm centres in the region -- but it had to be all the comm centres, otherwise it wouldn't work). Stalin quickly rescinds your execution order and does the above mentioned choking. Then he tells you he's giving you one chance to redeem your failure, otherwise this trope is coming into effect.
