** Creator/DennisQuaid, as TheDreaded SouthernGentleman Doc Holliday. His version of Holliday might not be as big of a pop culture icon as the version of the character played by Creator/ValKilmer is in ''Film/{{Tombstone}}'', but some fans and professional critics think he captures the character just as well, if not better. This is despite how Doc doesn't appear until over an hour into the movie, while Kilmer's Doc is around from the beginning.

* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Music/JamesNewtonHoward's score is just as great in its gentler moments like "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys8TT0q6u98 The Wedding]]" as its thunderous moments like "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKFXi71PXmg&feature=emb_logo It All Ends Now]]".

** Snarky, HappilyMarried James Earp is one of Wyatt's better-liked brothers, despite being the only NonActionGuy among them.
** Ed Masterson, a NiceGuy played by Creator/BillPullman, is one of the more memorable and popular supporting characters, even though he [[spoiler:dies about halfway through the film.]]
** Frank and Tom [=McLaury=] might be the best-liked of the villainous cowboys due to being competent gunfighters, their distinctive appearance, their actors (Creator/AdamBaldwin and Creator/RexLinn), and how they have some subtle EvenEvilHasStandards and EvenEvilHasLovedOnes moments.
* JustHereForGodzilla: There are many things about the movie that attract one group of fans or another, but one notable draw of it for history aficionados is that it is the first (and so far only) movie about the Earps and Doc Holliday to include Wyatt's younger brother Warren (while having him played by a young Creator/JimCaviezel no less) and his role in the Earp vendetta ride.
* TheWoobie: The Earp wives get plenty of chances to be exasperated and pitiful, and their actresses do a good job with how much they have to put up with because of Wyatt's whims and occasional {{Jerkass}} moments. And that's without mentioning [[spoiler:Lou's grief when Morgan is wounded at the O.K. Corral and murdered after his recovery]] or [[spoiler:Mattie's DescentIntoAddiction once Wyatt starts cheating on her.]]
