* HeartwarmingMoments: While the fanfic is generally grim and dark, it still has some heartwarming moments. In chapter 5, Lincoln and Ronnie Anne [[ShipTease share a moment]]. Ronnie Anne manages to convince Lincoln to open up to her about the problems he's having with his family. She comforts him by saying [[DeclarationOfProtection she will always be there to protect him]] ([[FunnyMoments though she mentally sighs at how sappy she's sounding]]) and manages to make him stop crying. At the end of the conversation, she agrees to sleep with him, as he has troubles to sleep without Bun-bun, and he kisses her on the cheek to thank her.
** In the same chapter, it was really nice to see Bobby and Mr. and Mrs. Santiago so worried about Lincoln's state after his fight with Lynn. Bobby is even willing to ''lie to Lori about knowing where Lincoln is'' for the poor boy's sake (though he does admit to not liking it one bit).

* The entire Loud family was out for hours looking for Lincoln and Lynn ends up regretting her fight with her brother so much that she has a full-on NightmareSequence about [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor her wish about not having a brother coming true]].
** It's...a bit weird but the fact that even when he's beyond upset with them, Lincoln finds the idea of his parents going to jail and his family possibly breaking up utterly horrifying and despite the fact that he has every right to call the police on his parents (something that is starting to become a bit of a cliche for "No Such Luck" DeconstructionFic stories), he doesn't go through with it for the family's sake is heartwarming on both his part and the author's (the author has stated outright that he wanted to do a story where the Louds fixed their problems without police intervention).

* HarsherInHindsight: The appearance of Mr. Santiago, a decent man who appears to be a good father in this AU, becomes this when [[TheLoudHouseS2E10FedUpShellShocked Shell Shocked]] revealed that Bobby and Ronnie's father is canonically out of the picture.

** Admit it, when Ronnie Anne yelled at Lola to apologize to Lincoln and later ''busts Lynn's arm'', you were cheering in delight.

** Luna chewing out the rest of the family for the way they've been treating Lincoln (after having [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone horrified reaction]] to realizing that Lincoln doesn't have a bed anymore) before going to find her little brother was great for steam release too.

** Downplayed, however, as the whole point of the fic is to have Lincoln finally stand up for himself after having to constantly deal with his family's behavior towards him.

** Between treating their son like a mere good luck charm, continuously hurting him even after things cleared up, and showing more concern towards the suit rather than Lincoln when he was ''attack by a damn alligator'', It's pretty clear The Louds' crossed this. The matter is ''when'' they crossed it.

* TheWoobie: Lincoln, big time. All he wanted was some free-time away from the family, and what does he get in return? Being kicked out of his own home, having his furniture sold, and being forced to wear a squirrel costume in order to win back their trust. And even then, they still don't respect him as a family member.

Especially since it adresses the DoubleStandard when it comes to deal with Lincoln's mistakes and his sisters' mistakes and it lists most of the times Lincoln was treated unfairly during "No Such Luck" and the previous episodes.

** Although it didn't end well whatsoever (kinda predictably), Lincoln giving his family a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech is very satisfying to read.

The Loud parents and sisters in this fic, however, are so horrible in their treatment to Lincoln they don't even feel like the same Louds from before.
