In the third encounter, the well-known disarming scene it looks like he's feeling her up ''while holding a gun to her head''. To some [[NotWhatItLooksLike Kurtis' actions up to this point are eerily similar to those of a stalker and a sexual predator]], especially since every other male character in the franchise who got Lara in a similar position is portrayed as a villain and/or a [[IHaveYouNowMyPretty pervert]].

In the third encounter, the well-known disarming scene it looks like he's feeling her up ''while holding a gun to her head''. Yes he was checking for weapons, and he does find Lara attractive. Also the situation they're in is the middle of an armed robbery. It can come across as less sexual tension and more like a sexual assault. There's a difference between [[BelligerentSexualTension two people who fight all the time being attracted to each other and not admitting it]] and feeling someone up during their first meeting while holding a gun to their head.

* HeroWithBadPublicity: Ultimate fate of Core Design. The game was delivered in half-finished state and caused a major outcry in gaming community (one of the biggest return of sales in history), with Core taking full blame... only for it to be later revealed they've did everything they could to finish as much of the content as possible, after being cut short of 6 months of development time and doing unpaid overtime for two months, while desperately trying to convince the execs the game should be given the full development time. So rather than being villified, the studio should be praised for their effort to deliver as much of the game as it was possible.

Lara has all the nice weapons and tons of ammo, but doesn't really need it.

He seems to inspire loyalty solely through fear.
