Added DiffLines:

* SpiritualSuccessor: ''Housamo'' in general is a combination of ''Franchise/{{Persona}}'' series and the first ''VideoGame/DevilSurvivor'': A crossover cosmology set in a walled-up Tokyo, where the protagonist gets to befriend (and even romance) those mythological figures. While it's also a bit of SpiritualAntithesis to the ''Franchise/ShinMegamiTensei'' series as a whole, it also contains a few antagonistic Judaic characters.

* ValuesDissonance: While Japanese players like the child-like units, most players outside of Japan are understandably (or not, depending on who you ask) disturbed by them in a game that's mostly intended for an older teenage and adult audience. The inclusion of the units has ties with how Japanese history idolized children, but in the United States they tend to skirt the line for what constitutes child pornography (especially some of the Akashic Records) and [[UnfortunateImplications indirectly feed into the "gay pedophile" stereotype.]]

The last edit had a lot of text that was just seething over what child pornography was, so I'm vandalizing it to remove that from Values Dissonance and tighten the "this is why it's bad" angle.

* ValuesDissonance: Japanese players love the child/boyish units, like Kenta and Eita. This also includes units that ''look'' youthful but aren't, like Cu Sith. Western fans are [[{{Squick}} understandably upset]] by this and have a hard time understanding the [[CultureClash differences]] between Japan and, for example, the United States regarding this. It’s mostly related to the prevalence of shotacon and lolicon artwork in Japan, whereas in, say, the United States this sort of art is socially unacceptable and considered child pornography (despite child pornography only applying to real, physical children, and the fact such a term is outdated (as pornography as an industry implies consent in its creation)) in many circles. Needless to say, if you see one of these units in a team, they're probably Japanese.

* MemeticMutation: Due to the incredible synergy between Leanan's 4* unit and [Isolated by 25 Light Years] Cthugha, a lot of fanart and memes depict them as a duo, usually chaotic and destructive friends.

%%* TierInducedScrappy: Shino is loved by fans as a '''character'''- but despised as a unit for being overhyped and underwhelming. This is subverted after the 2019 Valentine Release, where he gained a variant with useful skills.

* AcceptableTargets: For the most part, anything related to Christian imagery or references to Christianity seems to be the norm with Lifewonders; characters and organizations of Christian origin tend to favor order at the cost of personal freedoms, and many characters have had their lives ruined by Eden, the world based on the Christian concept of Heaven. Chapters 4 and 8 are the most egregious, with very few exceptions. The angels shown to be absolutely good, like Marchosias, turn out to be fallen angels instead, or are otherwise looked down upon by other angels [[spoiler:(demonstrated by Michael's dismissive attitude towards his fellow archangel Gabriel)]].

* EvilIsCool: Tezcatlipoca quickly garnered fans in part because of his design, and that he's voiced by Creator/TakehitoKoyasu using his ''[[Franchise/JoJosBizarreAdventure Dio Brando]]'' voice. [[spoiler:Helps that he's also genuinely remorseful for banishing his brother and only continues the plans for an endless war just so he could see him again]].
