* HilariousInHindsight: Kent Brockman doing a feature dedicated to the Malibu Stacy doll and taking up time on air when the President has apparently arrested for murder was a silly self-aware joke at the expense of mass media priorities in 1995. Come 2023 and the ''Film/{{Barbie}}'' movie would become a global phenomenon with promotional spots airing on its studio's parent company's news channel CNN during the period when former President Creator/DonaldTrump would be facing criminal charges for allegedly taking classified documents from the White House, thus continuing the 2010s ongoing meme of ''The Simpsons'' predicting the future.

* HarsherInHindsight:
** When an elderly fan mob ambushes Creator/AndyGriffith, Grampa swipes his heart medication, leading to a FunnyBackgroundEvent of an ambulance taking Griffith to the hospital while a doctor defibrillates the latter. Griffith ended up dying of an actual heart attack in July 2012.
** The main plot of the episode is that Lisa's favorite doll (which is an {{Expy}} of ''Barbie'') reinforces negative gender stereotypes, causing her to push for a more progressive alternative. It seems like her efforts are going to be successful, until the company unveil a new doll that draws attention away from Lisa's doll. Though Lisa is content that at least one girl bought her doll, this is unfortunately an EsotericHappyEnding, since nowhere near enough people bought her doll to turn a profit. Then came the [[Film/Barbie2023 2023 Barbie movie]], which, despite releasing nearly 30 years after this episode, featured a very contentious take on gender issues (including some that are explored in this episode) that concluded in an EsotericHappyEnding that makes the ending in this episode seem like an unambiguously happy ending by comparison.

** Some viewers have commented that Stacy's infamous line, "Don't ask me, I'm just a girl" could be read as her just being modest. This isn't too different from people defending Teen Talk Barbie's infamous "Math class is tough" line for reflecting the fact that [[EverybodyHatesMathematics math is hard for some students]].

Indentation

* MisaimedFandom: Some people have taken the in-universe commercial failure of Lisa Lionheart as AnAesop you should just let children be children and not try to "indoctrinate" them via toys or media. However the actual intended aesop from Lisa Lionheart's failure is more along the lines of how hard it can be to get your message out there when someone with much more money and resources can just drown it out. In fact, it's demonstrated in the episode that Lisa Lionheart actually ''was'' a good toy that kids would love if they played with it (Kent Brockman's daughter loved it); it just couldn't compete with the entrenched brand.

Leaving aside the fact that by that same logic Malibu Stacy is ''also'' guilty of trying to indoctrinate children, just with a different message, the intended aesop from Lisa Lionheart's failure is more along the lines of how hard it can be to get your message out there when someone with much more money and resources can just drown it out. Not hilarious and likely ROCEJ shoehorn

* HilariousInHindsight: Kent Brockman lampshading his own news segment on the new Malibu Stacy capping it off with that in other news that day "the President was arrested for murder", when the second teaser trailer for the ''Film/Barbie2023'' was released on Tuesday, April 3, 2023, the same day as former President Donald Trump was charged with felony charges.

This example itself provides arguments against its own validity.

* HilariousInHindsight: When Lisa is recording lines for the Lisa Lionheart doll, Krusty comes in and says the three lines for his own doll (even flubbing one of the lines) in one take and waltzes back out. Nearly fifteen years later, Creator/ChristopherLee engaged in a similar situation when voicing Ansem the Wise for ''VideoGame/KingdomHearts358DaysOver2'' (albeit he only provided one line and it was just because of his busy schedule and not outright arrogance like Krusty).
