** The liquor store robbery at the beginning of the movie could have been easily thwarted (and Robert's death thus prevented) if ''any'' of the characters -- not just Luke -- acted reasonably. The robbers actually had no real advantage over Robert and Luke, since they carried no guns and they were just two grown-up men against two other grown-up men, so if Luke simply revealed himself (and armed with broken bottle at least), it would most likely diminish their confidence. In addition, there were three other people, standing ''right outside the store'' who ''somehow'' failed to notice the whole incident and their friend being threatened... or they did notice it, but just decided not to intervene nor take any other action, like calling police. Dom truly has the nerve to blame Luke for Robert's death when he was there himself and did absolutely nothing to prevent the tragedy.
