* MoralEventHorizon:
** [[spoiler: Jianzhu when he leaves Yun to die, and kills one of his oldest friends, Kelsang. Yes, that's Kyoshi's best friend and father figure, and two out of the three important figures in her life, all within the space of about twenty minutes. This is especially cold, since it has been stated that much like Kelsang is to Kyoshi, Jianzhu is what Yun considers to be his only family. And Yun is left to die the moment he is considered no longer useful. Not even Ozai has done anything like this]].
** Xu Ping An firmly places himself above this when he sadistically butchers dozens of villages out of his sheer egomania that the world owes a debt to him and is above everyone to be judged. If that was not enough, the time he beats up a family and forces the child and mother watch the father be be slowly boiled to death to simply let off some steam would be as that's Kyoshi's breaking point and calling out to him that such sadistic acts makes his entire existence insulting to her.

* MoralEventHorizon: MagnificentBastard: [[spoiler: [[EvilMentor Jianzhu]] was the mentor and friend to the deceased Avatar Kuruk. When the Yellow Neck rebellion rises, a rebellion headed by bandits, Jianzhu tricks them into digging their own graves and then buries them alive. Jianzhu then becomes the mentor to Yun, the supposed new Avatar. Having his doubts about the true identity of the Avatar, he leads Kyoshi and Yun to a cave and leaves Yun to die at the hands of a dark spirit. Afterwards to cover his tracks, he poisons his rival politicians and sages, [[SelfPoisoningGambit dosing himself in order to avoid suspicions]]. Upon achieving this, he uses his ties to track down Kyoshi. Once he finds her, he drugs both Kyoshi and her girlfriend Rangi, kidnapping the latter. When confronted by Kyoshi, he [[VillainousValour puts up a formidable fight]] only to die at the hands of the unpredictably resurrected Yun]].

* {{Narm}}: During their confrontation in "The Spirit", Kyoshi's [[StatuesqueStunner tall height]] means that Jianzhu has to earthbend the ground beneath himself in order to stand at eye level with her. It's a moment that can come off as him having a Napoleon complex, and can also look silly in an otherwise very serious scene.

* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: Lek speaks for the Daofei that nobody really chooses to live the life of a Daofei; but rather it's a lifestyle one has to take on when society fails them.
