** The whole romance between Elizabeth and Don Juan, given that it’s founded on pretty much nothing other than Don Juan [[PervertedSniffing]] sniffing the former’s glove. They don’t exchange a single line before deciding that they are meant for each other. It’s like the filmmakers were trying to one-up the LoveAtFirstSight from vintage Disney films.

** The elderly officer who tells Don Juan that he needs to keep his dog on a leash. Mind you, the man was just doing his job and spoke to Juan in a polite manner, and yet the latter just snubs him and lets his entourage gang up on the poor man and basically cow him into submission with threats of violence. And then, Smiley comes back on piss on the man’s leg, just for shits and giggles, and we’re somehow supposed to find this cathartic? ProtagonistCenteredMorality much?

* RootingForTheEmpire: Just about everyone who's seen this movie sympathizes with the rats for [[UnintentionallySympathetic many]] [[LesserOfTwoEvils reasons]], namely because they want to kill Pingu. It should be noted that they ''do'' want to take over the world, but if the people on the surface is anything like our protagonists (Which is pretty likely given the radio-host calling the Titanic ''[[CriticalResearchFailure "mythical"]]''), then it's pretty easy to say [[TooDumbToLive they deserve to be taken over by rats.]]

* TooDumbToLive: Tentacles is this trope incarnate. Firstly, he is easily duped by [[ObviouslyEvil Ice and his gang]] into throwing an iceberg in the path of the ''Titanic'', despite his friends’ warnings and Ice’s bad rap. Secondly, after being told the truth, he runs off to sulk in his cave instead of simply swimming up and ''moving the iceberg out of the way''. [[RuleOfThree And finally]], after saving every last passenger (including the captain) he still clings on to the ''Titanic'' as it goes under and gets crushed to death! [[UnexplainedRecovery Though he still somehow survives that]]?

Trope misuse. The screwdrivers were simply banned, they didn't die, so it's not an Inferred Holocaust.

** It's mentioned that screwdrivers were banned from Atlantis. Later a sentient one shows up out of nowhere. As Doug Walker noted, if that screwdriver was alive, does that mean an entire community was banned from the city?

* TheScrappy: Don Juan's not particularly liked given his disturbing infatuation with Elizabeth despite only speaking to her once. The sequel only made things worse, as he acts like a dick to his companions whenever they're rightfully intimidated by their circumstances and shamelessly sucks up to the morally dubious Atlantians no matter what they do.

** The way Pingo tells our heroes that they can't go back home. Rather than using any kind of bedside manner, he performs a creepy song and dance routine before happily blurting it out. Don Juan claims the delivery was actually a good thing, but Smiles' and especially Elizabeth's reactions clearly contradict this.

The boy gives it to him. We then get to watch the man silently reading the newspaper before it switches back to the actual plot. Bear in mind, the story starts with everyone boarding the ship safely and Elizabeth arguing with her father about Maltravers, so the newspaper scene isn't conveying anything that the audience doesn't already know.

** When the ship hits the iceberg, everyone on board can feel it and the scene quickly dissolves into panic. And even without the involvement of the whales, an officer can be heard shouting that there's room for everyone on board the lifeboats. None of this is true to what actually happened. There weren't enough lifeboats for everyone, and even then, many were not lowered at full capacity due to passengers not believing that the situation was as serious as it was until it was too late.
