* MagnificentBastard: [[MagicFromTechnology Abra Kadabra]] is a time travelling criminal from the 64th century, who utilizes nanite technology passed off as magic. [[TrappedInThePast To return to the future]], Abra searches the multiverse for timeship parts. As a future enemy of Barry, Abra has knowledge about Savitar, which he uses to bargain for his freedom when captured by Team Flash, then detonates a bomb to cover his escape. Barry prevents Abra from returning to the future, and as Abra gets taken into custody, he says withholding information on Savitar was like he got to kill Iris too. Post-Crisis, Abra regained his pre-crisis memories of a family that no longer exist, for which he blames Barry and plots to destroy Central City with an antimatter bomb. Unable to stop Abra from completing his device and unable to disarm it [[MadeOfIndestructium due to its material]], Barry persuades Abra into a HeelFaceTurn. The two are attacked by a new enemy, which Abra tries to protect Barry from but is killed, where Team Flash agree he died a hero. Cunning and charming, Abra Kadbra stands out as one of the most memorable villains ever to appear.

* NeverMyFault: Gypsy refuses to acknowledge that her headstrong attitude partially contributed to Abra Kadraba's escape. Instead, she dumps it all on Joe, who had Kadabra at gunpoint, until her sudden appearance caused him to let his guard down.

* AccidentalAesop: Don't let emotions cloud your judgment and your actions. While this is somewhat present with Joe and Kadabra, it really shines in TheStinger. Cailtin succumbs to her injury and dies; Julian, having bonded with Cailtin over the season, panics and rips her power draining necklace off to see if it'll do anything. She comes back, the wound heals, and Julian is overjoyed...but he doesn't think to put the necklace back on after said wound heals, and Caitlin's transformation into Killer Frost is completed.

* TrollingCreator: The writers, with this episode. It basically consists of the [[MonsterOfTheWeek villain of the day]] spending the entire time teasing viewers about how he knows Savitar's identity, only for the episode to end with him [[TheUnreveal not telling anybody]].
