* FaceOfTheBand: A highly justified example, since "Sincere Engineer" was Deanna Belos' name as a solo act for two years before ''Rhombithian'' came out, and was her screen name on social media for several years before that. This was especially the case during the writing of ''Rhombithian'', which Deanna said felt slightly awkward because her bandmates were Chicago-area musicians with an established reputation in other bands who were acting as "hired guns" as friends of producer Matt Jordan. Touring with them through 2018 led to her becoming close friends with them, though, and she's said that ''Bless My Psyche'' by comparison was very much a collaborative effort from beginning to end. That said, Deanna is both the owner of the Sincere Engineer name and it's still clearly synonymous with her as an individual, with tracks she's a guest vocalist on credited as "feat. Sincere Engineer", and her continuing to tour as a solo acoustic act and release tracks as a solo performer under that name.

* MemeticMutation: It's become a tongue-in-cheek "tradition" among Sincere Engineer fans to buy corn dogs (or, failing that, bring them from home) to concerts to hold up as a RaisedLighterTribute during "Corn Dog Sonnet No. 7" (with many people pointing out that, given the time this would take before the song started, those would end up being dangerously stale corn dogs).

* FriendlyFandoms: Deanna herself is a huge fan of The Lawrence Arms and Alkaline Trio, and longtime fans of the Chicago punk scene often see Sincere Engineer as picking up the torch of those bands. Sincere Engineer has also toured with Music/TheFrontBottoms and Music/TheMenzingers and shares a sizable fan overlap with both.
