Even so, matches against tempo Rune usually rely on whether the Rune player can play Daria early enough and snowball in advantage before the other player stabilizes.

*** Many say it's not entirely Daria's fault of Rune being so strong, but
that she can be held off with control decks. Even so, matches against tempo Rune usually rely on whether of [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/102331010 Timeworn Mage Levi]]. On evolution he gains the Rune full +2/+2 stats and gives the player a cheap-to-cast 3 damage from Crimson Sorcery, allowing him to effectively do the job of [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/100421010 Dragon Warrior]] at 1 less mana and 1 less defense.[[note]]Normally, cards with a beneficial evolve ability only gained +1/+1 during evolution.[[/note]] The Crimson Sorcery can play Daria early enough and snowball in advantage before the other even be saved for later to deliver game-ending player stabilizes.damage. During his debut, his strength was notable, but Runecraft's viability was lacking outside of Dimension Shift so his being well above the power curve garnered little attention. But Rise of Bahamut then introduced [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/103324010 Piercing Rune]], allowing for an evolving Levi to combo with it and potentially take out ''three enemy followers'' for a total of 4 mana, an incredible shift in tempo that is difficult to recover from. Between 2 to 3 Crimson Sorceries, 3 Angelic Snipes, and 3 Piercing Runes, the Daria tempo deck possessed a total of 6 to 15 points of player damage coming off their spells alone, meaning an opponent's wards would only save them from about half the effort the Daria player needs to input on average.

** "I'm powerless...for now." Uttered by [[https://shadowverse.gamepress.gg/card/yurius-levin-duke Yurius, Levin Duke]] when he is summoned. This is an annoying follower to deal with since you'll take damage whenever you summon a follower into the board. It's made even worse when multiple of these cards are played into the board. This follower is incredibly hard to get rid of due to Yurius's being 1/3 and is often used to counter many Forestcraft, Daria, and Swordcraft builds (since many of these builds involve spamming multiple followers into the board) and they lack any effective means to remove him. Made even worse when [[https://shadowverse.gamepress.gg/card/veight-vampire-noble Veight, Vampire Noble]] is played in the next turn to protect Yurius (with Veight's line, "Sheds tears of joy, I've arrived")[[note]]Attacking Veight is something that you do NOT want to do since he'll summon a Vampire Bat into the board. Made even worse is that you are ''forced'' to attack him since he's a ward[[/note]].

** [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/101131020 Rhinoceroach]] is a consistent trump card of Forestcraft since the beginning of the game. A 2-mana 1/1 with Storm looks mediocre on paper, but its power scales according to the number of cards played that turn. Given Forestcraft's penchant for playing many cheap cards in a turn - some of them free with the use of the right cards - along with bouncing it with [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/101114010 Nature's Guidance]] to give it an additional attack with ''even more power'', the Roach combo became infamous for its ability to deliver large amounts of burst damage. This was taken UpToEleven with a deck named "Miracle Roach", which uses [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/103021020 Feena]] to create a free [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/103011030 Goblin Mage]] which can then search up a Rhinoceroach and basically ensure the combo goes off as early as turn 7 - and in extreme cases, defeats an undefended opponent at full health. The worst part is that it can be splashed into nearly every form of Forestcraft deck, meaning that as long as your opponent is playing Forestcraft, you are hardly safe from the Roach.

** [[https://shadowverse.gamepress.gg/card/elanas-prayer Elana's Prayer]], a Havencraft amulet, gives +1/+1 to all the player's followers whenever their leader is healed. '''Even if they heal for 0''' due to the health cap, so intentionally not attacking the opponent will not stop this card. Should the Haven player land this card early, they can proceed to heal off any damage they took from aggressive decks while slowly curb-stomping the opposing player with supersized followers. If two or more of these are present, expect to see their followers scale too quickly for your creatures to handle.
*** What makes the above worse is that its decks that use the above usually also use [[https://shadowverse.gamepress.gg/card/enstatued-seraph Enstatued Seraph]], a Countdown amulet that replaces itself every turn with another amulet, with the last amulet being an InstantWinCondition. Since the effect that triggers the next amulet or the match victory is a Last Word effect, destroying the amulets only makes things worse, there's only one legendary follower who can banish it, and the only other two options of getting rid of it safely are Earth Rite Runecraft cards. And given that they're going to be constantly healing themselves, even if you can somehow manage to hold off all the supersized followers, you're still going to be racing against the clock trying to kill your full health opponent before they go through all the amulets, especially if they decide to use Countdown reduction and amulet destruction effects to speed things up.

While it sounds reasonably balanced on paper, there are combo decks built around reducing this card's cost as fast as possible, allowing them to cast the card as early as turn 7. Heaven help you if the Spellboost deck uses two or more Dimension Shifts in a row. The main issue players have with this card is being on the receiving end of it, as the whole combo takes several minutes to execute with no opportunity to interact. While aggressive decks can easily defeat the Dimension Shift player before they fire off their combo, Dimension Shift easily becomes the nightmare of control players.

*** What makes the above worse is that its decks that use the above usually also use [[https://shadowverse.gamepress.gg/card/enstatued-seraph [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/102743010 Enstatued Seraph]], a Countdown amulet that replaces itself every turn with another amulet, with the last amulet being an InstantWinCondition.
** [[https://shadowverse.gamepress.gg/card/dimension-shift [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/101334020 Dimension Shift]] is an 18-cost spell[[note]]Your Play Points cap out at 10, so it is unplayable without Spellboosting it[[/note]] which reduces its cost by 1 each time you play a spell, and has the ever-loathed effect of granting an ExtraTurn. While aggressive decks can easily defeat the Dimension Shift player before they fire off their combo, Dimension Shift easily becomes the nightmare of control players.players.

Like many of the followers in the deck, she can be spellboosted to reduce her cost, made a lot easier with new cards like [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/103311030 Craig]] and [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/103321040 Clarke]] who specifically double-boost followers, allowing her to be played as early as turn 4. When she does, the player draws a fresh hand of 5 cards - that are ''also spellboosted 5 times'', usually meaning a free Fate's Hand for more supplies or free [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/102311050 Emmylou]] and [[https://shadowverse-portal.com/card/103311050 Ogler]] to keep up the aggressive pressure. Being only a little slower than full aggro decks but possessing followers with sturdier bodies allowed Daria aggro to dominate the game shortly[[note]]and for cheap, too - other than 3 Darias, the rest of the deck is bronzes and silvers barring a couple of Levis[[/note]] before other players wised up and learnt that she can be held off with control decks.

While it sounds reasonably balanced on paper, there are combo decks built around reducing this card's cost as fast as possible, allowing them to cast the card as early as turn 7. The deck also runs Flame Destroyers, 10-cost 7/7 followers that also reduce their cost with Spellboost and, by the time Dimension Shift is played, become almost completely free or incredibly cheap to cast. What entails is the combo taking a fairly long time to execute, given that the Spellboost deck would take multiple turns in a row and beat the opponent down while they are completely helpless.

* JustHereForGodzilla: The English dub for this game is consider either SoOkayItsAverage at best, or really below average when compared to the Japnaese voice acting. Most anime fans would only play the English dub of this game because of Creator/BriannaKnickerbocker voicing Luna, which is a case of PlayingWithCharacterType.

* JunkRare: As expected with any CollectibleCardGame. In fact, there are some Gold or Legendary cards that are often liquefied for vials simply because they are either too situational or have a negative effect.
* ThatOneBoss: [[spoiler:Nexus]], the final boss of the Forestcraft Story path, uses an [[RulesAreForHumans illegal deck that has cards from all classes]], resulting in otherwise impossible combos that can easily overwhelm the player, especially if they have been going through Story Mode with little modifications from the default deck.

** Anyone who tries to play ranked with Dragoncraft is forced to play Dragon aggro or not play Dragon at all. The other two possible strategies for Dragoncraft are largely underdeveloped. Dragoncraft has all of ''three'' different cards that increase their Play Points so achieving Overflow quickly is inconsistent, in addition to the problem of drawing their high cost cards and being unable to do anything in the early game. The other option, Discard Dragon, suffers from being a generally underdeveloped strategy. Future expansions may remedy this problem.

** Path to Purgatory is a neutral amulet that hits all enemy followers (and the enemy player) for 6 damage provided that the player has 30 or more shadows[[note]]Cards or tokens that have been destroyed, discarded, or used spells[[/note]]. While meant to be DifficultButAwesome, it is also the basis of many decks which can use cards that generate many tokens at once to quickly stock up their shadow count, allowing the card to go online much earlier than expected and destroying any chance the opponent could have at retaliating. Players of the deck archetype do mention, however, that it is still DifficultButAwesome given the ease of misplaying.
*** Of these variants, Forestcraft receives the most hate mainly because not only can it easily stock up shadows for Purgatory, given how many fairies it generates, it can also kill the opponent the usual way through battle. [[MortonsFork Destroying their followers stocks up the shadows for Purgatory, but ignoring the followers means their board will kill you.]]
** Elana's Prayer, a Havencraft amulet, gives +1/+1 to all the player's followers whenever they are healed. '''Even if they heal for 0''' due to the health cap, so intentionally not attacking the opponent will not stop this card. Should the Haven player land this card early, they can proceed to heal off any damage they took from aggressive decks while slowly curb-stomping the opposing player with supersized followers.
